12/1/93

The attached Piiceon 16 port I/O drivers have been modified by
Alpha Microsystems to work with the new Roadrunner systems.

The first, PI16PC, is for the non-intelligent (no Z-80 processor)
versions of the 16 port board.  It has been tested on a Revision
B artwork board.  PI16PC does not need to be modified to work for
any of the other non-intelligent boards with fewer ports
(2,4,6,8,14, etc.) and can be used as supplied.

The second, PI16IF, is for the intelligent 16 port I/O board.  It
will only work with Revision F and later revision boards.  Rev. B
boards will trmdef but will not communicate because the Rev B
board design is radically different from later revisions.  This
current version 2.0(106) driver HAS BEEN tested with a PIICEON 16
port board with AMOS 2.2C on a Roadrunner and it works!

This version of PI16IF has been modified so that it can be
conditionally assembled to work on AMOS/L systems with an OS
version of either 1.3C or less, or 1.3D and greater.

Conditional Assembly:
     /V:1  = AMOS/L 1.3C or less
     /V:0  = AMOS/L 1.3D or greater

Please note:  While this driver is compatible with older
operating systems, the Roadrunner only supports AMOS 1.4C or 2.2C
and above.

These drivers have been modified to maintain backward
compatibility of newer systems with a third party product.  They
are supplied "as is" and are not warranted by Alpha Microsystems.
