VUERAN version 2.1 VUERAN allows you to vue a random file similar to vueing a sequential file. The screen editing commands are described below and all work very similar to standard VUE commands. Since we are working with a Random file we can only see 512 bytes at one time. Therefore each page is 512 bytes of data or one full block of data. Some screen editing commands are differ-ent than standard VUE commands. Use ^T to see next page A control B will show you a binary number at the current cursor location. Only a 1 or 2 byte binary number can be displayed or edited using VUERAN. Looking at the current byte locator place the cursor on byte 425 then type a control B. Enter byte size as1. You should see that at that location is the number 100. Placethe cursor at byte 430, type control B and enter a byte size as 2 you should see the number 200. d � Use control T to see next page Control F shows the current cursor position as a 6 byte floatingpoint number. Put the cursor at the location 200 and type a control F. You should see the number 100 HD If you do not wish the number to change then entera carriage return. If you do want the number changed then enter the number to change to and then press a carriage return. A control G will show the next current record only if the TAB isset. To set the type enter an ESC(escape key) or control ]. The tab set is used to set record sizes so that one can tab to the next logical record and also see which current record the cursoris at. Enter an ESC, type TAB, then a carriage return, Enter a tab size of 64, the a carriage return. Now type a ^T to see the next page and you will see a 512 byte block of random data as a 64 byte record.
