The Vrigstad company made a green transition receives an electricity
bill of over one million a month Updated yesterday 20:19 Published
yesterday 13:59 The family company Lundbergs Pressgjuteri switched
from fossil fuels for machines to electricity - now they are hit hard.
Normally, they have an electricity bill of 1-2 million per year - now
they pay the same price - fixed per month. The company from
Vrigstad made a green transition, which means working for a reduced
environmental and climate impact through, for example, emission
reductions and efficient, non-toxic resource flows. Cajsa Lundberg,
who is CEO of the company that has been running for three
generations, says that it is not only her company that is affected.
- It's not just us. It's not just the foundries, it affects all process
industries, says Cajsa Lundberg. "The green transition in Sweden
is thrown back 15 years" She is worried that the current situation
will affect the green transition in Sweden. - It sends a bad signal
to those who intend to make the green transition and the new green
investments that must be made. How dare one do it considering that
this could happen? We cannot manage the operation and we cannot
pay the electricity bill for the conversion we have made. There is no
money left to continue, she says.
