Bulgaria is being terrorized by mutant ticks
Cases of tick bites have become more frequent, according to
the infectious diseases department of the multidisciplinary
hospital in the Bulgarian city of Pazardzhik, May 27 reports
the Bulgarian National Radio. According to experts, the
number of requests for medical assistance is twice as high
as in previous years. The first two cases of Marseilles fever
have already been registered - a 7-year-old child and a
35-year-old woman (

Complications from mutant bites include: fever, rash, muscle
and joint pain. The most common tick-borne infections in
Bulgaria are Marseilles fever and Lyme disease (borreliosis).
