Revaccination does not protect against omicron

Researchers at Moderna have published a preprint
(https://bit.ly/3spaZpR) of a scientific paper describing
an attempt to revaccinate rhesus monkeys with a special
version of the Omicron coronavirus vaccine. It turned
out that it increases the level of protection against a new
strain, but not so much. The most likely reason is that the
“immune memory” activated by the booster vaccine causes
the body to synthesize the antibodies that it began to produce
during the first vaccination. In theory, this problem can be
circumvented, but specifically for mRNA vaccines, this may
not be easy.
