How I Played The 20 Years American Quiz

In October 2018, I randomly discovered an IRC server. It hosted
the #quiz channel. I went there. There the Americans played Trivia
Online. If I had logged in earlier or later, I would not have
gotten into the game. So this is not a coincidence, but an act
of providence. It turned out that the quiz lasts 20 years without
interruption. Since the time when AOL has hosteds a joint quiz on
the TV channel. This happened in the late 90s of the 20th century.
The quiz was played by old people who died before my very eyes
in Online. I learned a lot and want to share the terms and
conditions of this game. The point of the quiz is to have fun
and learn something new. The person asking the questions is called
the hoster. Usually Cynthia, who created this room, received
guests every evening at 6 pm New York time. Other players also
had a personalized quiz on days of the week. Questions were taken
from different places, the main thing is that they are funny and
interesting. For example, such a question:
"How many times a day on average a person opens the refrigerator.
" Or “Who do women most often have sex with in the US? For the
first 15 minutes, the participants got together and exchanged news
and greetings. Then, for the next 45 minutes, the owner asked
questions. The meaning of the answers was to give any answer as
quickly as possible. The server showed the time, taking into
account the seconds. So it was easy to find out who answered first.
When someone answered to the questions, most accurate answer. The
host of the evening praised the one who gave the correct answer
to the question, other participants also did it, along the way
with irony commenting on the stupids and funniest answers.
The questions were both thematic and usual. The presenter teased
the participants, talking about the questions what they are very
difficult or for people with big brains, etc. Although in reality
they were simple questions. There were also theme nights in honor
of American national holidays. This quiz lasted 20 years without
interruption and ended with the death of most of its participants.
About what I wrote in another article.
It just so happens that I'm probably the last person to know what
American Trivia Online is. Therefore, I propose to restore this
great tradition in the MRC.

Write to my guestbook at Gopher what you think about this. Thank
you.
