Instagram is destroying the psyche - new evidence
According to We Are Social's 2020 report, the average planetary
on social media spends almost 7 hours of their life online every
day. Internal Facebook documents were published in The Wall
Street Journal
https://on.wsj.com/2YPOQWS.
The article argues that company representatives have known for
many years about the mental health risks of the platform for users,
especially teenage girls, but did not take any action. According to
a study specially conducted for the company's management, 32%
of teenage girls feel inferior when they watch their Instagram feed.
Reporters also reported that employees of the company have been
studying the impact of their product on the state of mind of young
users since at least 2019. Their research has repeatedly shown that
the Instagram app is harmful to the health of a large segment of the
population, especially for girls.
A systematic review of research into the dark side of social media
that followed soon identified 46 harmful effects, ranging from
physical and mental health problems to negative effects on work
and academic performance, as well as safety and privacy concerns.
Researchers at the University of Technology Sydney conducted a
review that documented and compared a number of negative effects
of social media use. Their work, titled "The Dark Side of Using
Online Social Media: A Survey of the Negative Experiences of
Individuals," was published in the Journal of Global Information
Management (

scientists reviewed more than 50 scientific articles published
between 2003 and 2018. Some of the most common negative effects
of social media use included trauma such as jealousy, loneliness,
anxiety, and low self-esteem.
Another study (

users who reported feeling "unattractive" began to experience this
feeling immediately after using the app. Thus, it is obvious that the
"cockroaches in the head" of the so-called generation of zoomers are
a product of the work of social media. IT cartels are responsible for
the waves of teen suicides around the world. Since they purposefully
use neuromarketing technologies to manipulate an immature
child's psyche.
