qcf = press quarter circle forward on the directional pad (press down,
down-forward, forward),
qcb = press quarter circle back on the directional pad, (press down,
down-back, back),
hcf = press half circle forward (press back, down-back, down, down-forward,
forward),
hcb = press half circle back (press forward, down-forward, down, down-back,
back),
b = press back on the directional pad
f = press forward on the directional pad
bf= press back then forward quickly on the directional pad
uf = press up-forward on the directional pad
ub = press up-back on the directional pad
bb = quickly press back then back again on the directional pad

Power transfer = hold L and press either the "X", "Y", or "B" button to
transfer power to the appropriate super level. If you are Player 1(Player 2)
then the "X" button corresponds to level 1(level 3), the "Y" button
corresponds to level 2(level2), and the "B" button corresponds to level 3
(level 1).
stun = moves that temporarily leave an opponent open
bounce = moves cause an opponent to bounce on the ground and leaves the open
to attack
taunt = press either lk+hp, f+lk+hp, d+lk+hp, b+lk+hp, or d+lp+hk
throw = press lp+lk, or white button
air throw = press lp+lk or white button while you and the opponent are
airborne
Air Counter = press hk+hp or black before any air to air and air to ground
attacks
Low Counter = press d+hp+hk or d+black button against any normal or special
low attack
Punch Counter = press f+hp+hk or f+black before any normal or special
standing punch attack
Kick Counter = press b+hp+hk or b+black before any normal or special standing
kick attack

Strings = a sequence of attack button presses that general require no timing
to for the character to success connect all hits. Strings should be press
quickly. Strings generally don't do a great deal of damage (<25% damage).
Combos = a combination of strings, supers, pop up attacks, counter attacks,
throws, and/or specials that require some timing to complete. Combos
generally do a great deal of damage(>25% damage).

2. ABOUT PSYLOCKE
______________________________________________________________

Psylocke was captured by the crimelord Matsu'o Tsurayaba. Seeking to save the
life of his lover, the female assassin Kwannon, Tsurayaba oversaw a process
through which the minds of Kwannon and the X-Man Psylocke switched bodies.
In the process Kwannon's mind melded with that of Psylocke, endowing each of
them with the same memories and telepathic abilities.
Later Kwannon, in Psylocke's body, became an ally of the X-Men, calling
herself Revanche. For a time there was confusion among the X-Men as to who
was the "real" Betsy Braddock. Finally, Revanche learned that she was dying
from the Legacy Virus and had Tsurayaba kill her.
So the Psylocke in this game is really Revanche. Revanche has the mutant
power of telepathy which allows her to transmit her thoughts to others. She
is also able to read the minds of others. Though she is in Elizabeth's
original body, Revanche hasn't ever tapped into Betsy's mind blast power.
She is, instead, able to create a psychic katana that works on the same
principles of Psylocke's psychic knife.
Revanche is one of the more interesting characters since she doesn't have
the plethora of strings found with many of the other characters however she
does have strings that are easy to learn. Most of her strings allow enders
such as special moves to be used interchangeably (i.e. qcb+lk, lk, lk or
qcf+lp). She is also good at poping opponents up off of the ground with her
air super lp+hp. To bounce opponents into the air use the air super such
that she only hits a grounded opponents feet and then follow it by qcf+hp,
airseek,.....etc. She can also switch up positions on opponents and create
confusion for turtle players who like to block the entire match. Use her
bb+lk/hk or qcf+lk moves often and in combo. To use the switch-up moves in
combo perform the motion twice and hold the attack button down on the
second move. For example qcf+lk(performed as normal) then as she performs the
first flip quickly press qcf+lk, but hold lk and Psylocke will flip over the
opponent a second time without delay), you can add hp during the second flip
to attack the opponent or another quick qcf+lk(holding lk). You can perform
this with bb+hk/lk, qcf+lk.

4. STRATEGY

Against the "Projectiles Group"(Cyclops, Havok, Bastion, Forge, Bishop)
Use the kendo hops to move around the character's field of view. Stay in close
and keep them bouncing or up in the air! Also use the double severing swirl
to catch the opponent off guard and Heaven dagger heavily.
Against the "Super Armor Group"(Juggernaut, Sentinel A, Blob):
These guys are slow and tend to counter much more than any of the other
characters. It's best to start with any of Psylocke air initiatied combos
as these are rarely counter(eg.Viper Smite). Pressure these opponents from
above with the silken dagger then b+hp, hp(stun) and attempt slams whenever
possible(excluding matches with Blob). Attempt stuns with quick one hit
moves (Viper Blade or Ninja Assault 1) to mininmize the possibility of being
countered. Avoid hitting them in the back(unless they are performing an
attack) as this will result in a counter about 85% of the time.
Against the "Physical Offense Group"(Rogue, Beast, Wolverine, Lady
Deathstrike,Sabertooth, Storm)
Allow these characters to charge at you. Block their offense and counter
them [i.e. block then b+hp, hp(stun)]. They are pretty repetitive and
predictable.
Against the "Cheap Tactics Group"(Phoenix, Toad, Dark Phoenix, Magneto, Pyro,
Mystique)
This group attacks you when you perform a certain type of move or action.
Be mindful of these "automated responses" and avoid use of actions (or lack
of action) that triggers them (eg Magneto's slamming a opponent that use
3D walk or get close). Other than this you can fight them straight up.
Against the "Defensive, Stand-of Group"(Sentinel Beta, Gambit, Betsy,
Psylocke, Nightcrawler)
This group counter almost as much as the Super Armor. However, since they
don't have the armor you aren't countered as often. Characters in this group
are able to initiate attacks from a long distance. Some possess projectile
and some are able to get close very quickly. As against the Super armor
group, use on hit stuns to start combos. Avoid deliver several hits when
being blocked.
