[#1] Introduction
--------------------
In WE8/PES4 in Master League, Konami developed the Player Development
fature which allows us to develop younsters into Stars out there like
Zidane. In WE9/PES5, Konami further improved it.
In WE9, Konami implemented the second growth feature and more Growth
Trends. There're now a few main types that will be explain in the
next part of the FAQ.
Apparently, the Master League system had a drastic change. Classic
Players no longer start at 17 yrs old, they start at whatever age
they're at in matchmode now. When players retire, they don't re-appear
either, new players replace them. On with player developing...!
P.S. I've been recieving more and more emails about fixing player
names. For one, this is a player training guide, secondly, I have given
links for you to revise the names of players in the "FAQ" section of
this FAQ. Read it.

[#2] Growth Trends
--------------------
I'll keep it simple. There are 3 main types of growth trends, but
they vary a bit for each player. (Please bare with the ASCII charts).
These 3 growth trends also divert into sub groups (two of them).
The Short and normal growths both divert unti a Normal, Durable and
Double growth type. Durable people last for 3 seasons, usually.
Double growth player's second growth tend to be better than the first
but that may not be the case every single time.

This type has been retained from WE8/PES4. It is specially for players
who develop early in game but they dip really quickly. This is a early
growth type of player. They gain a LOT of experience points so it
would be wise to put them as substitutes. Even if they score a 6 as
their match point, they would still gain a lot of experience, therefore
there's no need to actually play them for the whole match. They are,
as well the easiest players to train. I'll call them
"Short-Term players" (STP).

This is similar to the above trend, except players drop at around 23

easy to train like most short term Growth players. I'd recommend
putting the players on loan until they actually regain their curve.

This is the normal growth speed. It's lies somewhat in the middle, or
near the middle. Like STPs, this is quite similar, you gain quite a
lot of experience and there is not a need to put the player on the
starting Eleven and they only last a season or so. The best way to
exceed the chart is to consistently get 7.0+ for your player score per
match, and get as many awards as possible. Another method would be,
loaning the player to another club, and retrieve him back later when
his stats are usable.

Heck, these take FOREVER to train. Of course, it's hard like hell.
It takes lots and lots of effort to exceed the actual curve. Anyway,
I highly suggest that you actually loan them for a few seasons until
they're useful enough for your squad.

Well, the important thing is: Buy the right players. Players who have
great potential are USUALLY at around 700-1000. STPs who have great
potential won't even cost up to 700. Well, they don't last long
enough, do they? Now with the added feature in which you can tell if
a player is growing or slacking, you can buy players with an assured
success. This can be shown by pressing the right on the D-Pad again
after checking out the chances of buying the player (star rating).
=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=
=> Players with OMG growth curves:
Okay, most of this will be either classic players or hidden ones, be
prepared. If you don't want to use them, don't even bother with this
part.
--> Alan Smith - CF
Okay, this is unbelievable. I screamed out loud when I saw his
growth. It shoots RIGHT UP from the 80s to the 90s in 1 year or
so. It's a MUST BUY. Guaranteed game success. He has 14 stats
that're above/at 95 in my game right now and it's only 4 seasons.
--> Baumjohann - ST
He's in Shalke04. His curve is unbelievable. When you first have
a look at his growing point when you're scouting, he's most likely
having a decreasing growth. But when you actually sign him, he has
a double peak growth. His peak (on his second growth) tips near
the 95s. If he had special abilities he would be a monstrous
striker/support forward.

=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=()=
=> Stats that never drop. Never will.
Yep. There are such stats which will never drop regardless of age.
Konami emphasizes the fact that technique of a player will never
decrease, as for any sport. Anyway the following stats will NEVER
decrease, no matter what age is the player.
--> Shoot Technique
--> Technique
--> Offense
--> Defense
--> Weaker Foot ability
--> Weaker Foot frequency

[#4] Training
----------------
In WE8, we had to train during off season with very time consuming
things. They were:
=> Team
--> Right Corner Kick
--> Left Corner Kick
--> Short Pass
--> Attacking
--> Snatch the Ball
=> Individual
--> Shooting
--> Dribble
--> Long Pass
--> Freekick
In WE9, there was a drastic change in Training. Now, you do specific
training. Now you train with these, individually.

-> Drbbling

I especially love the addition for speed. It was something that
took ages to train up, even for a Side Midfielder.
Do whatever neccesary to your players (e.g. when Ronaldo's passing
starts to fail you, let him practice passing)

What I would like:
Erm, if you've read the WHOLE guide, I would like some players for
respective growth charts. I've only played 1 season, so I have
limited knowledge on players. We all buy different people, so
hopefully I'll get more into the list. Check Contact Me for my

I've been recieving tons and tons of the same question recently, so I

Que: Where are the secret players? Where? I've bought them from the
WE-Shop/PES-Shop! Where did they go!?
Ans: On average, I get 1 of this particular question in 2 days. The
Answer to this question is: Play a full season.

Que: I want a full list of player name translations, can you send me a
