GUIDE INTRODUCTION
==================

Getting this game all came form by Birthday. No, I didn't get this game
for my birthday, but instead, I got a Playstation 2 book for my
birthday. Anyway, in there was a demo to true crime, streets of L.A. I
Absolutely loved the demo, and later rented the game... twice, before
finally buying the game. After beating the game the very first day I
brought it (yeah, I almost completed it when I rented it, and I only
rented it overnight twice.) So, here is my guide to True Crime, streets
of L.A

GAME STORY
==========

Nick Kang it a cop In Las Angeles. Being a wild gunner left him rejected
by the Police force and feared by Criminals. You play as Nick Kang, as
you explore all of L.A trying to find out who killed your father, and
solve crimes as well.

ABOUT TRUE CRIME
================

True Crime is a Game made by Activision, which takes fighting, driving
and shooting and puts them all together. This is what all of the
missions are based on (stealth as well.) You play as Nick Kang, and if
you want to know the story, look above. The game sotry is unique as
well, you don't have to complete every mission, you can just continue
the level, but you need to replay the levels to get better things and
advace to the good endings.

#######################################################################
=======================================================================
                      CHARACTERS
=======================================================================
#######################################################################

The Instruction booklet has some of the Characters in it, but the one
that are not in it I will list here also, but they will only be rough
descriptions. Also, BEWARE, SPOILERS INSIDE!

NICK KANG
=========

Although he was recently suspended indefinitely from the police force
due to repeated incidents of excessive violence and property damage,
Nick Kang (Wilson) was recruited into the E.O.D as the groups first
field agent. The same over the line methods that got him throws off the
force enable him to succeed at the E.O.D; his record speaks for itself.
Kang's Skills in Martial arts are only matched by his ability to double
fist firearms and drive like a Hollywood stuntman.

THE CHIEF
=========

Chief of Detectives, Wanda Parks, is the head of the E.O.D. She has two
decades of law enforcement experience and is one of the most respected
officers on the police force. Parks puts up with Nick's brash and over-
the-top nature because she knows when all hell breaks loose, nick is the
only man who constantly delivers.

ROSIE
=====

An ex-gangbanger turned straight, Rosie Velasquez is one tough cop.
having experienced life on both sides of the law, Rosie knows how to
take care of herself. She's just been partnered with Nick Kang and isn't
too happy about hitting the streets with a loose cannon. Rosie is afraid
she will get caught up in the constant crossfire that constantly
surrounds L.A's most dangerous detective - and rightly so.

ROCKY
=====

The main boss in the game. This guy is getting the Triads to Counterfeit
money for him, while Nick Kang always turns up to bust him. Can he stay
alive with a Loose Cannon after him? You will come across Rocky in just
about every episode, except maybe the very first episode. He appears
everywhere.

GENERAL XIM
===========

A colonel from North Korea, all this guy wants is Money. Rocky is trying
to get the money for this guy. You only really see him once in the game
(well, one on each ending, so three times overall.) He exceeds in
Martial arts and is quite strong.

MADISON
=======

Madison works for the F.B.I, and to put it lightly, he is a real pain in
the ass. He is always questioning what Nick does, and tries to stop him
doing it. Seen in a lot of missions. Very first time you spot him is in
the shooting practise opening movie.

#######################################################################
=======================================================================
                   MOVEMENT/CAMERA BASICS
=======================================================================
#######################################################################

RUNNING
=======

To easily run, while in normal mode (if you are not in normal mode,
press up to enter it) hold the left analog stick up. Holding it all the
way up will make you run. You can also run backwards, left, right, etc.

WALKING
=======

To walk, you can use the same method as above, but instead of holding
the left analog stick all the way up, just move it up a little bit.
Alternatively, you can just go into fighting mode, and then you will
walk (well jog actually) automatically.

CAMERA MOVEMENT
===============

You can move the camera around you by pressing the right analog stick.
Moving the analog stick left and right will move the camera to Nicks
left and right, put pressing up will zoom out, and down will zoom back
in.

TRAGET SELECTING
================

The camera can select targets as well. If you want to face a target,
move the right analog stick in the direction of the target, and it
should select the target, and Nick will now be looking at that target,
and going for him. Rotate the analog stick to select the target.

#######################################################################
=======================================================================
                      FIGHTING MODE BASICS
=======================================================================
#######################################################################

TARGETS
=======

If you have more than one target, and want to change the target you are
fighting, use the right analog stick to change the target. This can be
good if you have one guy that you are not targeted that has low health,
but keeps on beating you up, select him, and then kill him to get out of
the way, then once he is dead, you should auto go back to the same
target.

UPGRADES
========

You can upgrade your fighting skills. Going to 24/7 dojos and spending a
badge, you can get access to these Dojos, and upgrade your skills. Once
you complete the mission you need to get the upgrade, you obtain it and
can use it any time. See the upgrades section for more info. Some
upgrades include special combo attacks, ground attacks and finishing
moves.

PUNCHING
========

To punch an enemy, press and sqaure button. If you want to repetitively
punch someone, then quickly keep on tapping the square button, and Kang
will attack again as soon as he can. Note there are some times that you
can't kick, like for example when he is on the ground, or just been hit.

KICKING
=======

There are two types of kicks that you can do. There is the low kick, and
the jumping high kick. The high kick will get the enemy in the Torso,
and the low kick will get them in the shins. Use both wisely. Press the
traingle button to do a high kick, and the X button to do a low kick.

GRAPPLES
========

If you don't know what a grapple is then I will tell you: it is when you
grab someone. In this, there are different types of grapples that you
can do, but most are locked. The only efficient time you can do a
grapple on an enemy is when they are stunned. To do a grapple, press the
circle button. Press combinations to do different grapples, you need to
unlock them first, though.

BLOCKING
========

If you don't want to get hit yourself, then press the L2 button and the
analog stick away from the enemy. This will block punches and kicks, but
just remember that not all attacks can be blocked, for example, if
someone has a sword, it will still do damage to you. Same with character
special attacks and grapples.

#######################################################################
=======================================================================
                    WEAPON/SHOOTING BASICS
=======================================================================
#######################################################################

TARGETING
=========

If an enemy is near you, and you have go your weapons out (press R1 to
pull your gun out) then Nick will automatically target the nearest enemy
or enemy's car.

MANUAL AIM
==========

Sometimes the Automatic aim just wont cut it, like against snipers who
can only be hit with Precision aim. To go into precision aim, hold down
the R1 button. Use the left analog stick to move the target around, and
press R1 to shoot. Press the R2 button and it will exit precision aiming
mode. Just remember you can't move in this mode. You cannot use manual
aim while you have a machinegun in your hand.

DEFAULT HANDGUN
===============

The default handgun that you have has Unlimited ammo, but still needs to
reload. Once you upgrade to better default handguns, then you will get
more ammo for them. The Handguns are the only weapons that need to be
reloaded. So, you don't have to worry about ammo for them.

DUEL WEAPONS
============

Nick has the ability to carry two weapons in his hand, as well as his
two default weapons in his pockets. So, in one hand you can have a
Shotgun, and in the other hand a machinegun. If you have a shotgun and a
machinegun in your hand, to use the machinegun, hold down the fire
button, and to use the shotgun, tap the fire button. If you have two
shotguns, pressing fire will fire both of them. If you have two
machineguns, holding fire will fire both of them.

PICKING UP/DROPING WEAPONS
==========================

If there is a machinegun on the ground, press the circle button and nick
will kick it up into his hands. Like mentioned before, you can carry two
weapons in your hands at once. To drop a weapon, press the R2 button.
This will also reload the pistol, if you are carrying one in the other
hand. Nick will auto drop weapons when they are out of ammo, anyway.

UPGRADES
========

Just like Fighting, you can get upgrades for Shooting. You can get
Default handgun upgrades, for example, your main weapon that you always
have with you can change. They can change in power, rate of fire, or
ammo capacity. Other upgrades you can get include duel targeting, aim
assistance and laser scope. Get them upgraded by going to 24/7
locations.

#######################################################################
=======================================================================
                        DRIVING BASICS
=======================================================================
#######################################################################

STEERING
========

If you are use to using the d-pad in racing games, or just generally any
game where you are driving; get use to the analog stick. The analog
stick it the only thing you can use to steers in this. You can't use the
d-pad to steer. Move the left analog stick left to steer and move left,
and right to steer and move right.

BREAKING
========

There are two types of stops you can do. The first is the normal
breaking stop, and the second is the handbrake. Pressing square will
brake normally, and then reverse. Pressing circle will help you take
tighter corners, at the cost of speed.

UPGRADES
========

Just like everything else, you can get upgrades for Driving. You can
also get a car upgrade, by performing in street races. To obtain driving
upgrades, visit 24/7 car locations, and listen to the instructions it
gives you.

CAR VARIABLES
=============

Each car you come across is different is top speed, power, and
acceleration, so you will need to get your driving right for each car.
For example, don't pick a van if you are on a timed mission. Choose a
fast car.

CAR SHOOTING
============

You can shoot from cars in this, which is great! It so much reminds of
GTA. You can just shoot normally forward, you can have a target, or you
can use precision aim. Using precision aim in a car is the same as using
it on foot. Just hold down R1, everything will go into slo-mo to help
you get a good aim, and you can use the left analog stick to move your
view.

#######################################################################
=======================================================================
                          GAME SCREEN
=======================================================================
#######################################################################

NICK'S HEALTH
=============

Shown as a meter in the very top left hand corner of the screen. I think
you all know what health is. If you get run over, shot, punched, sliced
or anything else, you will lose health from this bar. Once the meter is
at zero, you are dead.

ENEMIES HEALTH
==============

Shown at the very top right hand corner of the screen. When you punch,
hit, slice, shoot or run over the enem,y his health will go down. When
all his health his gone, he is dead, or unconscious. If there are more
than one enemy, two other small meters can be seen under the main one.

CAR HEALTH
==========

Shown at top left hand corner of the screen, to the right of Nicks
health. Each time your car gets bumped, or your car gets shot at or you
just run into something, you will wreck parts of your car. Wrecked parts
will be shown here. Once the icon is flashing, your car is on fire.

AMMO METER
==========

Just to the right of nicks health. Once you shoot bullet out or your
gun, the meter will go down. When it is empty, nick will reload if they
are your default weapons, or just drop the weapons if they are a
machinegun, since they are out of ammo. If you are carrying two weapons,
left ammo is shown on the left and right weapon ammo is shown on the
right.

GOOD COP STATUS
===============

Shows how good or bad you have been. The more positive the number, the
better. To get it up, do good deeds, do get it down, do bad deeds. The
higher, the better, of course. You can find your good cop/bad cop points
under the Ying Yang.

REWARD POINTS
=============

Nearly the same as good cop bad cop. When you do good deeds, you get
reward points. When you do bad deeds, you lose points. Earn 100 reward
points to get a badge. Badges gain access to 24/7 locations and shiels
points can be used to gain health back or repair your car.

DISTANCE METER
==============

Shows how far you are to the guy that you are trailing. The farther up,
the worse. It has to be somewhere in the middle, and make it stay that
way. If you fall too far behind, you will fail the mission. This only
appears in missions and on special optional crimes.

SPOOK METER
===========

The big coloured in question marks, the worse. If you get too close to
the tailing vehicle, they will get spooked. When all question marks as
filled up, they will know you are there and drive off like mad, which
means mission failed.

TIMER
=====

Shows how much time is left to get to a spot, and complete the level.
This will only show on missions, of course. Get to the spot before the
timer reaches zero and it will go away. If the timer reaches zero,
mission failed.

RADAR/MINI MAP
==============

Shows the locations of all different things. It shows where to go to
access the next part of the missions, which way is north, which way you
are heading, all of the streets around you, and also enemies in street
crimes.

STAMINA METER
=============

Shown in fighting mode. Once you hit the eny, they lose stamina. Keep on
kicking and punching the enemy and they will start to lose health as
well as stamina. Once all stamina is lost, they will because dazed, and
you can do a finishing move on them.

#######################################################################
=======================================================================
                      MISSION TYPES
=======================================================================
#######################################################################

True crime revolves around the same "type" of missions. Note I said
"types." The mission type is the same, but the mission itself is
different.

ASSAULT
=======

Everyone's favourite mode. No stealth or fighting involved, just go in,
all guns blazing in this game mode. Beats stealth and stupid sniping
levels, and especially fighting levels.

FIGHTING
========

You are pitted against some opponents. In the early missions, it can
just be one, but as you progress, you will fight more and more.
Sometimes more will come after you beat the ones before them.

DRIVE TO
========

Easiest possible mission. All you have to do is drive to a location. No
time limit, etc. You can also use this level to go to 24/7 locations and
get upgrades. Simple type of mission.

RACE TO
=======

A hard type of mission; I hate these, as I don't do well under time
limits. You have to get to a location before the time limit runs out.
You need to take the right paths and not crash.

STEALTH
=======

Ninja Style! Stealth means you have to infiltrate an area and try not to
be seen. Thee are actually quite easy. Just run up behind an enemy and
press the square button. Try not to be seen. Shoot the tranquilliser
when you need to.

TAILING
=======

You need to stay on someone's tail so they can take you to their bosses.
You need to stay behind them, not to close, but not too far. If you get
to close, they get spooked. If you get too far behind, you lose them.

TAKE DOWN
=========

Couldn't think of a good name. There are only two types of these
missions, I think. What you have to do is play like a Sniper and shoot
another sniper using precision aim that is firing at you. Hard if you
don't have good aim.

GETAWAY
=======

Enemies are chasing you, and you have to try to lose them to complete
the mission. You will need to take corners fast to lose them, and make
them smash. Alternatively, just shoot them all.

VEHICLE SHOOTOUT
================

You are in a car, chasing another car (or vehicle). All you have to do
in this type of mission is shoot the escaping car. This can be hard
because they are firing at you. In a few levels it is a plane or
helicopter, not a car you have to take down.

#######################################################################
=======================================================================
                      FACILITIES
=======================================================================
#######################################################################

There are lots of facilities that you can enter throughout the City of
Los Angeles.

HOPSITAL
========

Hospital signs look like a Plus on your radar. Go to the plus, and where
the marker is, go up to it and your health will be restored. It will
take some of your reward points off though.

GARAGE
======

Looks like a Gas Pump icon on your radar. Drive to this, and go in the
garage and it will restore your car to full health. Uses up badge
points, and you can easily go and grab another car, not waste badge
points on repairing your car.

PARKING
=======

Go into this marker, and it will save the game and show you the vehicles
that you have unlocked. I'm not sure if they keep coming back all the
time (respawning.) choose a car, and drive out.

DOJO
====

Is ment to be a Barbell, but it really looks like a wide H, or an I.
This place is open 24/7, and if you go to the icon, you can upgrade your
Martial art skills to get an upgrade.

CAR COURSE
==========

Looks like a little car icon on your radar. Go to this icon, and you
will be at the start of a driving course. Do what it says, and if you
complete it, you can get then upgrade.

TARGET
======

Looks like a target on your radar. Go to the icon, and you will be at
Target Practise. Do what it says, and if you do it and complete it, you
get an upgrade.

#######################################################################
=======================================================================
                     OPTIONS
=======================================================================
#######################################################################

CONTROLS
========

Here, you can change what controller setting you use. You can change the
control setting, or you can easily make your own. I suggest that you use
the custom settings, but if you are too use to Vice City, then change it
to that. Also in controls you can set Vibration on and off. Last thing
is Inverse aim on/off. I prefer on, because that is how I have had it
from the very first time I played a game on the PS2. It means if you
press up in precision aim, the rectile will move up if Inverse aim is
off.

AUDIO
=====

Audio is music/sound effects/voice etc. I have no idea what output mode
is, but you can select from Dolby, Pro Logic II, stereo, mono or even
muted output. Also you can adjust how load the Effects are, the music
are, the voice are, etc. Also, you can set the soundtracks that you want
to play in the game. Great selection here.

DISPLAY
=======

Choose from Resolution, Wide screen, Radar Type and Subtitles. Putting
Radar type on Rotary makes the mini gap on the game spin around when you
turn around. Selecting fixed radar keeps the map still in a
geographically correct orientation while the arrow representing nicks
position rotates. If subtitles are on, it means that you will see
writing below the movie, which says what they are saying.

CREDITS
=======

Not really an option, because you can't change it, but whatever. Select
this to see who is responsible for the game.

#######################################################################
=======================================================================
                    WALKTHROUGH
=======================================================================
#######################################################################

SHOOTING PRACTISE
=================

A very easy mission. All you have to do in this mission is to destroy 10
targets by shooting them. The opening movie is pretty funny, but then
again, most are. Anyway, you get the default pistols to take down these
targets. Just wait until the target comes down, and then just rapidly
press R1 button. Try to kill all targets while they are down, as they
wont come back up. When you have no targets to kill, but some more will
be coming down, reload your weapon by pressing R2. It is better to do it
now than to reload while the targets are down. Once you destroy 10
targets, the mission is complete.

DRIVING TO THE E.O.D
====================

Simple mission really, you have 1:30 to get to the Elite Operations
Divison. That is more than enough time to get there. From the start, get
in the car turn around, a d then just head to the dot. Take the street
that comes out onto the road the E.O.D is on. Drive to the green blip,
and get out of your car and the mission is complete.

DRIVING FOR CHOW
================

You have no time limit for this level, which make sit very easy. There
is pretty much no way you can fail this mission. Firstly, do not go to
the Green Blip. Instead, go around and explore the city, since this is
the first time you will get a chance to. Also, you can go around to the
24/7 Locations and upgrade your skills, which is good to do this early
on in the game, although you might not have enough shields to do so. If
not, solve the street crimes.

SAVE TRICK
==========

Before you enter any Impound Garage remove your memory card and the game
will prompt you to insert the memory card if you want to save your game,
re-insert the memory card then save your game. At this point you can
either override an existing file or create a new file, now is when you
can create your new license plate with either a new character, new car
colour, or new name on the plate with out losing anything you have
unlocked in the game, finally all you have to do now is save you game
and enjoy.

Note: This can probably be done anywhere the game saves but it's best
doing it at the garages because you can see the new car color if you
have changed it and you know it has worked, also if you change
characters you will need to exit the garage before you see the new
character you have chosen.

WALL GLITCH
===========

Make pedestrians go through any wall Find any wall on the street and
stand very close to it, facing it.

Wait untill a pedestrian comes along, then press O to frisk him/her. If
you did it right and were close to and facing the wall, Nick will push
the pedestrian through the wall. Contributed By: starcrafttroop64

UNLIMITED AMMO
==============

First get the gun you want to have for unlimited ammo for(ie: AK-47).
Get that gun into Kang's right hand by picking up another gun. When you
get close to running out of ammo with the gun that is in your right
hand, holster your guns, then fire the gun into the air by pressing
R2+R1, you only have to fire it once, and you should notice that the
clip automatically reloads as Kang puts the guns back into his holsters.
Then unholster your weapons and the gun you have in you right hand
should be fully reloaded.

note: This only works with the gun you have in your left hand. And also
only works when you are in those open ended missions (the ones where you
can solve street crimes), not the ones where you shoot your way through
the mission because in those missions you can't holster your guns. Not
all guns hold the same amount of ammo, for example an Uzi and a shotgun

=======================================================================
#######################################################################

STREET CRIMES
=============

Street crimes are crimes that happen of L.A that you can choose to
pursue and arrest criminal to get rewards.

GETTING STREET CRIMES
=====================

The only mission types that you can get Street crimes in are the Drive
to missions. These have no time limits and you are out in the open.
Street crimes will now appear on the map, so go over to it and do the
mission.

REWARDS
=======

Doing Street Crimes can give you Badge points and Good cop points. They
don't work together though. Lets say that you use a headshot to take
down an enemy. You will lose a Good cop point, but you will gain some
badge points.

LOCATIONS
=========

Once the announcer says what is going on, then on your radar you will
see red dots. One red dot is for each criminal.. Go to these red dots.

CRIME GUIDE
============

       ENEMIES IN CARS TIPS
       ====================
       - If you don't have good aim, just get close to the enemy
         vehicle and rapidly fire at it. It will soon be wrecked and
         the criminal will get out.
       - Shoot at the tires. Go into precision aiming mode by holding
         down R1, and aim for the tires. This will bring the car down
         quicker.
       - Try to stay close to the enemy so that your bullets will
         actually hit him, and not just go anywhere.
       - Try to let the rectile pass over him before you start
         shooting. If the rectile isn't over him, you are not targeted
         and could hit civilians.

       CRIMINALS WHO DON'T KNOW YOU
       ============================
       - Show them your badge by pressing and holding R2, and then
         press the square button. They will either fight you, or run.
         Mostly fight you.
       - Shoot a Warning shot. Press and hold the R2 button and then
         press R1. This will make them run away.
       - Just run up and start a fight with them straight away. Run up
         and press the punch button. This can be a timesaver because
         they wont run. But it blows your chance of normally arresting
         them.

       CRIMINALS FIGHTING YOU
       ======================
       - Fight them back. There is nothing wrong with this, since they
         are fighting you, you have the right to fight them back. Use
         whatever moves you want, finshing moves, grapples, whatever.
         Just don't shoot them.
       - Don't throw your weapon at them. I accidently did this with a
         pipe or something. You lose a Good Cop point if you do this
        (Press circle to throw it at the enemy.)
       - When the enemy is unconscious on the ground, then press R2 +
         O to arrest him. Nick will slap the cuffs on, and you will
         get a good cop point.
       - You can use weapons against them, melee weapons only though,
         not guns.

       CRIMINALS RUNNING AWAY
       ======================
       - Do a sliding attack. To do a sliding attack, press the X
         button. This will go for their feet and knock them over. Wait
         to they get up and fight them.
       - Do a diving attack. Run up to the enemy and press the circle
         button. This will knock them to the ground. Wait until they
         get up, then fight them.
       - Like the other moves, you can press the square button to do a
         clothesline attack. Remebr don't shoot him.

       CRIMINALS SHOOTING AT YOU
       =========================
       - Shoot them back. Yeah, you have to do this, otherwise you
         will die! Just get the normal Rectile up, and shoot them. No
         good cop points will be awarded, but that is better than
         dying!
       - Go for neutralising shots. This can be quite bad, as you will
         most likely be shot while in precision mode. Go for the leg
         or something, and not the head.

=======================================================================
                      UPGRADE TYPES
=======================================================================
#######################################################################

GRAPPLE UPGRADES
================

Shown at the Dojo only when you get Bonus cruising. To get bonus
cruising, complete an episode 100% (Do every episode, minus the alts.)
The type of challenge will be to defeat a few enemies and then beat the
boss to get his signature move. This is quite easy.

Just pick on one person, and then just fight them. Do the finishing
move, and that can usually knock them out. If it doesn't, jump on him
when he is down if you have that manoeuvre. If you don't have that, then
pick on someone else, then wait for him to get up, the pick on him.

The main guy you have to fight is a boss. He has more health than the
others, and is generally a better fighter than the other guys you had to
fight. Just get a lot of punches and kicks in, and do special moves when
he loses stamina. Should be easy.

FIGHTING SKILLS
===============

Located at the dojo when you are in a drive to mission. A drive to
mission is where you don't have a time limit, so you can just go around
cruising the city, and get upgrades, like this. Head towards the dojo.
Here is what you have to do in this upgrade:

Perform the manoeuvre you are going to unlock a certain amount of times.
When you first spend the shield and go into the place, it will show you
the button combo. Write it down if you have a bad memory, and perform
the attack on the punching bags that come.

For special moves, you have to get the bag dazed, and then use the
special attack. Just hit it a few times, and Kang will go "Yeah". Now
enter the special move. Do the special moves however many times you need
to and you will get the upgrade.

NEW CARS
========

Can only be unlocked while you are doing the Bonus Cruising. To get the
bonus cruising, defeat an Episode completing it 100%. This means you
have to do every level, and not skip any (except the alts.) To get the
new car, go to the car symbol.

To obtain the car, you need to beat others in a street race. You can see
where you need to finish, so race to that point, but you need to plan
out a route. The computer knows the best route, so you can follow the
leader, and then overtake him at the last second.

It is better if you go into the street race with a fast car, like the
ones you start out with. You can get these from the impound parking
garages scattered around the city, and then take it to the car icon, and
race the competitors.

You have no guns in this, so you can't shoot them. You can attempt to
ram them off the road, but watch out, as they can tend to do the same
things to you.

CAR SKILLS UPGRADES
===================

Found at the car symbol when you are doing a drive to mission, meaning
you don't have a time limit to get anywhere, so you can do what you
please. In this time, go to the car symbol and it will show you the
manoeuvre you need to do.

It will show you the manoeuvre. Do this manoeuvre at least once, while
avoiding the obstacles. Avoiding the obstacles can be hard, because some
of the pedestrian cardboard cutouts can move. Stop before the line, and
the wait for them to come up, then work a way around it.

Avoid the barrels and barriers as well. Once you have passed the finish
line, anything you hit after that isn't counted as an obstacle hit.

GUN UPGRADES
============

Go to the gun symbol while you are on bonus cruising. Here, you can get
new default gun upgrades, meaning that the weapon you have all the time
that has unlimited ammo (but needs to reload) can be upgraded. This
upgraded are model, damage, and capacity.

All you have to do is to survive the gun course. This is very easy.
Little cutouts with guns will start shooting at you once they pop up.
There aim is bad, so you can easily avoid them. Just shoot them and
destroy them.

Get to the end of the course and the upgrade is complete. Remember to
dodge back abit and start shooting to dodge the bullets and to destroy
the targets easily.

GUN SKILLS UPGRADES
===================

These can only be gotten during Cruising missions or Drive to missions.
Drive to missions are levels with no time limit. Anyway, go to target
icon on the radar, and you will be at the place where you did the
shooting practise (very first level.)

What you have to do here is shoot down targets. Pretty simple. For the
first part, you need to just aim at the targets and shoot them and not
shoot civilian targets. Just aim, and shoot and don't shoot when a
civilan is in front of a target.

Next, you will need to go for precision aiming to get neutralising
shots. Shoot the enemy in the leg/arm, not the head to get a
neutralising shot. It can get very hard as the upgrades go on, and good
aiming is needed.

#######################################################################
=======================================================================
                       MISCELLANEOUS TIPS
=======================================================================
#######################################################################

FRISKING PEOPLE
===============

If you walk up to someone and press the circle button, nick will frisk
them. Frisking means, "searching them." Only certain people carry
contraband, and you can tell them. Here is now: If someone walks past
you, they look at you. If they look at you, they are innocent. The ones
that don't look are guilty; frisk them. Each successful frisk earns you
a good cop point.

EASY GOOD COP POINTS
====================

Go to a Stealth mission, for example, the one where you have to sneak
into the warehouse. Just run up and press square on all enemies to get a
good cop point. Do this to all enemies and get points, then wait to it
saves, go into the next mission and go exit. Now go to resume game and
choose the same level from the episodes list. You will rack up points in
no time.

EASY BAD COP POINTS
===================

If, for some reason, you want to become a bad cop, just kill everyone
you see. Pull out your guns, and just start shooting and killing
everyone. You can also run people over and lose a good cop point per
person you run over.

STREET CRIMES
=============

If you are a person who takes things easy (like doesn't shoot people)
should pursue street crimes. If you like shooting everyone, but also
want a good cop status, then it might be better not going to these
street crimes, because you will most likely cause more damage than good
if you start shooting everyone.

THREATS
=======

If you go up to someone and press R2 + R1, you will fire a warning shot
in the air, which is like threatening them to surrender, or you will
kill them. If you flash your badge, that can make them surrender as
well.
