I.     About This Guide
===========================================================================

i.    The Author

This is the very first FAQ I've ever written, and it actually comes in a
genre that I'm not all that well-versed in, but I've read and used a TON
of FAQs and I'm finally giving back. Besides, having this in an organized
format is a lot better than my massive notebooks of crap.

Right now, I'm 72% finished with the game.

ii.   The Guide

This guide is going to be as in-depth as I can get it. Again, I've never
done this before. With that in mind, I'd try to expect one thing at a time.
I fully intend to complete this guide to as small of a detail as I can but
I also want it to have a skeleton quickly enough to be useful. With that in
mind, the most essential parts will be completed first.

iii.  You

Any submissions, suggestions, recommendations can be sent to
[email protected]. Please spellcheck.

With regards to the above, this is a FAQ. Frequently Asked Questions.
So you have to ask questions frequently. It helps us both. That said,
don't ask questions that have already been answered.

iv.   Legalities & Confetti

This FAQ is to ONLY appear at gamefaqs.com.

I am also QUITE sure that The Warriors film and game and everything
contained within is as copyrighted as anything can ever be and so
I would suggest not ripping it off. Any information provided is purely

II.    Introduction
===========================================================================

i. Story Intro

from Rockstar Games' Official Site for the game -

"New York, 1979.
A battle on the streets.
The armies of the night number 60,000 strong,
and tonight they're all after The Warriors
- a street gang wrongly accused of killing a rival gang leader.

The Warriors must make their way from one end of New York
to their turf on the other side of the city.
All that stands between The Warriors and their survival are 20 miles
and thousands of street gang members.

The army of gangs owns the streets and there's no turning back.
They must fight for their lives and learn the meaning of loyalty
as danger and uncertainty emerge from the city night."

ii. About The Movie

"The Warriors" was made in 1979, and was shot in the same city - NYC -
it was set in, around the same time it was made - 1979 - to take place
in. The film's story was quite simple, and this is perhaps why it
is such a favorite with its fans - it takes something simplistic and
blows it up to a massive scale.

iii. The Game and The Movie

The game actually begins long before the events that start the movie, and
with its Flashback stages it takes place even longer before, all the
way back to the founding of The Warriors.

Some of the actors from the film actually reprise their roles in the game.

===========================================================================
III.   The Basics
===========================================================================

i. What You're Playing

This is a beat-em-up. It's one of the first good ones in years, and it's
bringing with it a flood of others. These games are NOT known to control
well, nor are they known for their challenge being, well, fair. With that
said, if you play smart you shouldn't die TOO often.

The game is unique in that a second player can join in at any time and
jump out at ALMOST any time through the pause menu. The camera (sometimes
frustratingly) shows one screen when the players are near each other and
splits when they seperate.

   A.  A Word On Playing Together

The Warriors is very considerate of the 2nd Player's time by
letting them stop playing at any time they wish. However,
it does not treat the players equally.

The 1st player is considered by the game to be the "lead" player.
There are times when the 2nd player cannot complete an objective
without the 1st player active. This is especially frustrating when
there is no way to reactivate the 1st player due to a lack of
healing items. This effect is most common in missions where the
other Warriors need to be led somewhere, as the 2nd player CANNOT
issue the necessary commands to the non-player characters.

Another unique aspect of this game, as compared to past beat-em-ups,
is the War Chief commands. These allow the 1st player to tell the AI
controlled Warriors what needs to be done in the field. Warriors will
also act to protect the 1st player when playing together - they will free
the player from being handcuffed and also will revive the player if s/he
possesses a healing item.

The screen, while engaged in battle or after pressing the Select button,
displays the player's name, score, and Rage meter in the top left or top
right of the screen and the player's Health and Stamina at their feet.

ii. Controls

               Left Analog Stick - Run.
                       + L2 - Run noticeably faster.
                       + L1 - When holding a throwable object,
shows the aiming arc. Push Square when
the arc is red to throw the object at
the target. (The aiming arc will slightly
track the target if it moves.)

               Right Analog Stick - Camera.
+ depress the stick - Change the camera distance.
There are 3 different camera distances.
(There are times when the camera cannot be
moved - a icon appears if you attempt to move
                         the camera in this situation.)
                       + R2 - War Chief commands (1st player ONLY,
                              while holding R2.)
Rotate the Right Stick and stop on the
command you desire, then release R2.

               D-Pad Commands
+ Right - Use Flash to regain health.
+ Left - When near a downed Warrior, use Flash
to revive them. If the Warrior has
their own Flash, you'll use that
                                instead of your own.
+ Up - Displays Current Objective.
+ Down - Displays Bonus Objectives.

               Start - Pause Menu

               Select - Status Display

Triangle - Action. (Displayed On Screen - Pick Lock,
                          buy Flash, Tag, etc.)
+ near weapon or object - Pick up.
                       + R2 + Left Analog Stick - Jump. When done at a
fence or tall obstacle, will result in a
                         faster climb.
+ near obstacle - Climb obstacle.

               Square - Normal Attack.

               X - Heavy Attack.
+ Both attacks have the ability to combo and to
hit enemies sprawled on the ground.
                       + Square - Power Attack
                       + Circle - Heavy Grapple

               Circle - Grapple
                       + X - Heavy Grapple
                               + Square + X - Power Move
+ Continue hitting X to extend
                                         the Power Move.
+ X or Square - attack grappled enemy.
+ near grounded enemy - mount enemy.
+ Left Analog Stick + Circle - throw enemy
+ Left Analog Stick + Circle + Near Wall - smash
                         enemy into wall headfirst.

               L1 + R1 - Rage Mode
When the Rage meter at the top left of the
Screen is full, Rage mode is available. This
changes your character's Special Attack and
enhances the power of their attacks.

iii. War Chief Commands

There are six War Chief Commands available. Only player 1 can use
these in Co-Op play. They are as follows:

Let's Go! - gets your Warriors to follow you or come to your
                   location

Watch My Back - your Warriors will protect the position where
                       you are standing.

Scatter - your Warriors will run in all directions.

Hold Up - your Warriors will stay where they are.

Mayhem! - your Warriors will attempt to destroy all destructible
                 objects in the surrounding area.

Wreck 'Em All - your Warriors will attempt to eliminate all
                       hostiles in the surrounding area.

The other Warriors are still AI controlled and thus won't always do
exactly what you want.

IV. The Warriors
===========================================================================

There are 9 playable Warriors in the main game. Each of them has skills
that they are excellent at, that they are good at, and that they are bad
at. They also have ratings for Strength, Stamina, Health, and Rage.
These stats can be displayed at any time via the Pause menu.

The Hideout can be a little confusing, so I'll explain it here.

If you can talk to your gang members, a small "Push [Triangle] to talk"
shows up in the bottom left.

You can pick up the boombox by approaching it and pushing Triangle. After
this you can change stations by pushing R1.

Begin Next Level - Appears as a Yellow Objective. This only shows up
during Story Mode.

Exit To Coney - Appears as the doors leading outside. Allows you to roam
Coney and complete small missions for bonuses.

Replay Missions - Appears as a map near the Rumble Mode pinball machine.
Allows you to replay any of the Story or Flashback missions you've
completed.

Flashback Missions - Appear as Bonus (Purple) Objectives on the wall next
to the map. Each one has an item assigned to it. Can be completed in any
order.

Armies of the Night - Appears as a Bonus (Purple) Objective in front of
The Warriors arcade machine.

Rumble Mode - Appears as a pinball machine in the upstairs corner, near
the Map and Flashback Missions, directly across from the TV.

Game Stats - Appears as a TV in the corner across from the pinball machine.
Tells high scores, playtime, unlocks, percent complete, etc.

Workouts - Heavy Bag, Sit Ups, Pushups, chinups. Offer a small stat bonus.

VII. Walkthrough
===========================================================================

===========================================================================
Story Mode
===========================================================================

This game always lets you know what needs to be done. The objectives are
clearly marked by a large Yellow W on the ground. Bonus objectives are
unlocked after a few stages and are Purple. Red Objectives will take
you to the next part of a level.

In the sense of the Walkthrough, Red and Yellow Objectives will be called
"O:"
Bonus Objectives are "BO:".

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
1       New Blood (Coney)

       P1: Rembrandt P2: Ash

       High Score Goal 5000
       1 Soldier Unlockable
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

The game opens with a cutscene showing part of the beginning of the film's
story. We then go back 3 months to begin our story.

After another cutscene, the game puts you in the shoes of Rembrandt. (If
P2 is taking part, they will control Ash, who has no stats in the pause
menu and is never seen or heard from again.)

O: Move into the Yellow Marker.

Straightforward. Just do it.

O: Use the Right Analog Stick to move the camera until you see the next
marker and move into it.

In case you forgot between then and now, you still use the Left Stick
to move.

This triggers another cutscene where Cleon, the Warriors' head, explains
that you'll be fighting some bums. The game will now walk you through its
combat system, so pay attention.

After that, you're told to Waste the Bums, which is to say, defeat them
all. After they're taken away to get their booze, you get your first
real objective, although it doesn't appear as one on screen;

O: Use what you've learned to survive a brawl with The Warriors.

You'll need to use both strategies for clearing a room here - throw them
into each other with the Circle button and use the snap attacks on the
Square button. It's not really all that hard, and you should survive.

If you make it long enough, you get to continue - the next cutscene'll
show Rembrandt getting his vest, and Vermin taking him to get some
Flash to recover. First, though, you need to get some money.

O: Break into the store through the windows or the door.

You just have to attack the windows to smash them.

The game will now explain to use the triangle button to steal items from
the (smashable) cases inside. To do it, attack the case with X or Square
and then push Triangle. You pocket the money instantly. This is by FAR
the fastest way to get cash, but stores you can do this to aren't always
around, so you will sometimes come to rely on the skills you'll learn
next...

O: Smash the car window and press Triangle to start stealing the car
radio.

All windows break the same way but you must break the driver's side
window to get at the radio. Then the Steal command appears on screen:
push Triangle to begin.

You rotate the left analog stick counter-clockwise to unscrew the radio
(Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosey...). After 4 screws it comes loose and you
make some money.

Not all cars will have radios inside; you'll learn to spot the large
silver box after a while.

O: Mug the man on the phone.

Run up to the man and grapple him (Circle). The Mug command appears.
(Triangle) Push it to start mugging him. You will now rotate the left
analog stick until you find a spot where the controller vibrates.
Just keep the stick at that spot until it doesn't vibrate anymore,
then find another spot until the large red bar is maxed out. If the
yellow bar underneath maxes out first, the victim breaks free.

The mechanic for escaping arrest is similar except that you must
avoid vibration.

O: Get back to Vermin.

Again, obvious. Run into the red marker to continue.

O: Follow Vermin to the dealer.

You'll now learn to climb fences - just walk into them with the Left
Analog Stick and press Triangle to climb the fence. If you're running
- meaning, holding L2 - and time it correctly, you'll hop the fence,
saving a couple of seconds. This is EXTREMELY useful when running from
police or other gang members.

Climbing onto dumpsters works the same way.

O: Jump across to the yellow marker.

Hold L2 and push Triangle as you approach the ledge to crash through
the window to the Objective.

Finally, you bust down a fence - use L2 to sprint again but hit X this
time to crash through the fence.

O: Move closer to the dealer.

You found him! Just approach him.

O: Buy some flash off the dealer.

Get a little closer if you need to and the Buy command appears (Triangle
again). A hit of Flash is 20$.

O: Take the Flash.

Push the right directional button to take the Flash and heal yourself.

Congrats, you finished the tutorial stage! If anything is painfully
obvious, I may not write an explanation in addition to the Objective,
so pay attention to what your Objective is at any given moment.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
2       Real Live Bunch (Coney)

       P1: Cleon P2: Vermin

       High Score Goal ????
       10 Soldiers Unlockable
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

The level begins with a cutscene of the Destroyers firebombing your
hangout.

After you take control of Cleon, issue the Warchief Command -
"Let's Go" by holding R2 and selecting it with the right analog stick.
The other Warriors then join you.

O: Search the Coney alleys for your Warriors.

Go forward and turn around the building to reach the Red W on your
radar.
This triggers a cutscene where Ajax is engaging in some sexual
harassment.

O: Keep moving and find the rest of your Warriors.

Again, use the radar to proceed to the next Red W. You'll need to
go forward, then right through the hole in the fence. Continue and
hop the fence. From the fence, go left to the W in front of the
Wooden Fence. This triggers a cutscene where Cowboy and Snow are
arrested.

O: Free Cowboy & Snow.

Hop over the fence and go to the right to reach Cowboy and Snow.
When you're close enough the Uncuff command (Triangle) appears on
the screen. Push it to begin Uncuffing one of them. You need to
alternate L1 and R1 to fill the bar up to free Cowboy and Snow.
If you push them too fast it will actually be harder so space it
out.

O: Check out the back alleys for Fox.

Spin the camera around to be behind Cleon and proceed to the
chain-link fence to the right. Hop it. Go right and hop another
fence, then go left and follow the alley. You can then go forward
into a dead end or turn left, so turn left. Finally, turn right to
get to the big red W to trigger a cutscene.

Select the Hold Up command after the cutscene.

O: Get up onto the roof.

The stairs are right next to you.

O: Throw a bottle to distract the cops.

Approach the pack of bottles on the ground and push Triangle to
pick one up. The game will walk you through throwing it.

Hold L1, aim at the W, and throw the bottle using the X button.

Another cutscene leading you to Swan and Cochise. You now get to
use the Mayhem Warchief command.

O: Raid the store.

When you run up to the Objective Marker and push Triangle, you
will start picking the lock. Push X when the dark part of each
ring is in the red zone to pick the lock. I find it helpful to
let the third ring spin once or twice to get used to its speed.
Once you've picked the lock the door will open. Smash the
cabinets (Square) and Steal everything you can (Triangle).

O: Cut through the back door.

Proceed to the back of the store. Walk into the marker. You
have to pick another lock.

O: Keep moving! Find Cochise and Swan.

There's just one path you can take in this alley, so follow it
to the red marker. It's up the stairs at the end of the alley.

After Cochise and Swan's intro, hold R2 and select the Warchief
command Wreck Em All.

O: Take out the Destroyers.

This is a big fight but you have a ton of help. If you're having
trouble, use the Watch My Back Warchief command and tandem
attacks - if another Warrior is holding an enemy, push an attack
button. Flying attacks (Sprint and push Triangle) can be useful
to floor many Destroyers at once too.

After you wreck all the Destroyers, a cutscene introduces the
next level, where you'll be taking the fight down to East Coney.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
3       Payback (East Coney)

       P1: Rembrandt P2: Vermin

       High Score Goal 17000
       3 Bonus Objectives
       22 Soldiers Unlockable
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Ah, yes. Revenge.

O: Lay down your piece on the Destroyer burner.

You need to mount the dumpster directly in front of you to reach
the burner. If you forgot, run up to it and push Triangle, then
one more time to get on the roof.

Once you're in the marker, the Tag (Triangle) command appears.
When you push triangle, a yellow W will appear on screen with
a white marker at the beginning of it. You will use the left
analog stick to trace that yellow W. If you get off track, the
controller will vibrate and the game will reset you on the path.
This wastes time and paint, so take this first tag slowly to
get used to the feeling. There are only so many shapes of W's
that you will have, but they are randomized so you'll always
be doing a different one.

O: Get to the streets of East Coney.

Get down off the roof and proceed directly left to the marker.

O: Snuff out two more burners.

If you're out of spray, visit the spray dealer across the street
from the vomiting guy. You'll need $5 per can. If you're out of
cash, take out the Destroyers first. Also, there's a radio to
be stolen in the yellow car across the street near the spray
dealer, and another at the other end of the alley.

Afterwards, use the Wreck Em All command
to have your Warriors take care of the Destroyers, and take care
of the tags. All of the tags show up on your radar, and if you
haven't had a hard time finding those spots thus far, you won't
have any difficulty now. Remember to use the Watch My Back
command if you're having a hard time finishing tags.

The spray locations are:

- On the wall in front of vomiting guy
- Forward, to the big gap, then left to pass the laundromat. On
the left wall of the laundromat.
- All the way at the front of the alley on the fence.

Do two more tags and you're done. Stock up on cash and spray
while it's still easy though. You can carry up to 9 cans of
spray at a time.

BO: Cross out the last tag on the street.

There's only going to be one left, so go find the one you didn't
pick from the list. Once the previous objective is complete,
though, the final tag will disappear from the radar, so be careful.

O: Hit the Back Alleys.

This marker is directly to the Spray dealer's left (your right).

The gate opens.

O: Mark up three more Destroyer burners.

There are Destroyers straight ahead, start the fight but have the
Warriors finish it with Wreck Em All. The game tells you how
to do a spray attack (X + Circle), but I don't recommend this as
it wastes a can of paint and doesn't really pay off.

There's a Flash dealer across from where you start and a bit to
the left.

From where you begin this part, Spray locations are:

- Forward, then to the right, between a dumpster and wooden boxes
- Forward, then left, to the left of the shack.
- Around the corner from that same shack, up the box, then up
 onto the scaffold.
- From that scaffold, go down the narrow alley over the fence,
to the next open area. As soon as the alley opens up, turn left,
and go left around that corner until you see the scaffold above
the low boxes. Mount them, then sprint and jump across to the
other scaffold, then to the roof. The tag is at the end.
- From that initial fence again, move forward into the clearing then
directly left up the stairs (between the building and the shack
with its lights on). Jump through the small break in the
wall at the end of the roof, Drop down in the direction of the
street, and onto the awning. Be careful not to jump too far!

BO: Finish up the back alley tags.

Again, the locations you didn't do disappear from your radar, so if
you want to get this done, just remember where you've already been.

I recommend doing the scaffold jumping one and the awning one first.

O: Get out of the back alleys.

You will be at any of the tags when this Objective triggers, but
you shouldn't have a hard time getting to it. With some luck and
a bit of skill, you'll still have 4 cans of paint left (if you stocked
up to 9 earlier). If not, find some gang members and return to one
of the spray dealers. If you have some extra cash, you may want
to grab some Flash also.

O: Tag the last three burners.

The blue car in front of you has a radio you can steal. Do it. Also,
pay attention to the blue dot on your radar - that's a cop, and if
he sees you do ANYTHING suspicious he will come after you. Not that
you can't handle him.

There's also another spray dealer across the street.

There's gonna be another bonus objective here, so here's the list
of spray locations:

- From the starting point, left up the wide street, past the car,
there's a low building to climb. Take the bridge across, then
get up the scaffold to the tag.
- After that tag, drop back into the street and cross it. There's
a long alley - go down it. There's eventually a set of stairs on
your left. Climb them. The tag is in the upper left corner of the
 roof.
- You can jump across to another roof from here. Proceed up the ramp,
take out the Destroyers here, then turn left from where they were
standing and drop onto the awning.
- Return to the same rooftop where you dropped to the awning, but
jump across to the next rooftop (to the right of where those
Destroyers were standing.) There's a tag on the backside of the
 small wooden thing.
- The next tag is directly below there, on the billboard.
- Finally, drop onto the pointy roofed house, then the last tag is on
 the front of the house.

BO: Bomb the rest of the main street burners.

You know what to do.

O: Get out of East Coney.

If you did those tags in order, you'll be at the house. Proceed to
the alley behind you. Hop the fence to get back to the street and
go to the red marker at the top of the alley. You will be attacked en
route, have the Warriors take care of it with War Chief commands.

Finally...

O: Sneak into the back of The Destroyers hangout without being
made by their scouts.

Proceed into the dark area (called a "hide area"). When you're hidden,
your radar turns blue, and you can't be seen as long as no one saw
you enter. Slightly press the analog stick toward the guard, and when
you get close enough, press L1 to lock on. Then you can use X or Square
to take him down.

Proceed forward from the guard, then turn right when you can go no
further. When you enter the hide area, you see a cutscene of a
drunken Destroyer, He'll return to his post. Take him out as you did
the last guard.

Go to the W diagonal from that guard. When you're hidden, press
Triangle to pick up a bottle, then L1 to aim. Throw the bottle into
the Yellow Marker - you'll know you're targeting it when the arc
turns red.

After he runs out, run directly across to the next dark area, then
take him out in the same manner as the previous two guards.

O: Sneak over to Virgil's burner without being made.

Pick up a bottle and throw it at the truck to the right. The guard
will go to investigate, so drop and run to the hide area. You should
make it just fine. If you don't, make sure you're throwing from the
left side of the hole. The guard will return eventually; dispose of
him in the usual manner.

Cross to the stairs and approach the burner.

O: Lay down a Warriors piece right over Virgil's burner.

If you need any paint, there's a box right next to the marker
that has an infinite amount of it. Get 9 cans and begin the tag.

Burners are multi-layer, so you're going to have to trace multiple
patterns. In addition, they're not just W's now. Still, just keep
your head about you and you'll finish the tag. 3 times will do it.

Also, appreciate how Rembrandt doesn't need to move at all to paint
such a huge wall.

O: Get out of East Coney.

For real this time. Climb down the stairs, and trigger the exit cutscene.

This isn't a long mission - my first clear was around 11 minutes - but it
can be a difficult one. So be careful to not get outnumbered, keep an eye
on your own health.

O: Defend your turf, bop the Hi-Hats straight out of Coney.

Begin by sprinting and pushing Square to knock a few Hi-Hats down. Then
just proceed with the fight. If you get in trouble, remind your Warriors
to Watch My Back. You'll find Flash dropped quite frequently also, so
make sure to pick it up. If you can, though, hold onto it.

If you get hit by knives, you'll want to find the Hi-Hats hiding behind
the boxes. Use the X button to break the boxes and then take them out.

You'll move inside after a cutscene.

O: Track Chatterbox down.

Proceed deeper into the funhouse. In the next room there are a ton of
balls to be thrown and a few guards. There's also a hide spot to your
left. Throw one and get their attention focused away, then use the
hide spot to get through the area.

If you're seen, you don't need to worry -too- much, as the Hats aren't
very tough. Just watch out for the ones in white, as they still throw
knives.

O: Turn the power on.

After the Hats are taken out or you approach the power switch,
this objective appears. From the tickets line, you'll proceed to the
upper right corner of the room to the switch. It's on the tracks, so
you'll need to get up on those. Approach the big red button and push
Triangle. Then, run down and to the next marker.

O: Move! Don't get run down by the cart.

Jam on the displayed face button to outrun the cart. It may take a
few tries to adjust to the pace you need to hit the button at.

O: Wreck the Hi-Hats

Well, do it.

...No, that's not all I have to offer here. ^^;

If you are in one of the geysers when they go off, the smoke will
blur your screen - as your character's vision would be impaired.
So don't get caught on one of those.

Also, do NOT get trapped in a corner. Most fights up til now you can do
that, but here you'll have four Hi-Hats on you really quick. If you do get
trapped, Heavy Grapple (X + Circle) one and throw him at the others.

You can also smash the Hats' faces into the wall by Grappling them, dragging
them to the wall, and pressing the left stick towards the wall and pushing
Circle.

A red Objective Marker appears atop the tracks after you've wrecked all of
the Hi-Hats. Mount the tracks as you would a low building and enter it.

O: Waste Chatterbox

He sends a few Hi-Hats out to attack you, and he starts pelting you with
those odd white balls, that I think are skulls now, actually. You can either
use the L1 aiming feature from the back of the area, or grab something to throw
and run up close to him and just hit Square. It's harder to hit him this way,
but faster. Also, the next boss you fight in this manner will be MUCH easier
to hit this way.

Now, notice the tracks running through this area.

You DO NOT want to be on these when a train passes. You will, of course, die.

..So will a Hi-Hat. So try to maneuver them onto that as you fight.

Chatterbox will also throw firebombs - avoid their explosive ranges and keep
moving through the area, taking care to avoid the tracks. Note that while you're
on fire, you can't pick up items, and you drop anything you had in your hand.
If it seems like there's a lot to keep track of here, there is, but with care
you'll bring Chatterbox down to go everyone on one.

You can try to get him on the tracks or you can bring him down with normal
attacks, but you won't be able to grapple him. He will shrug you off and
onto the floor.

Just keep up your attacks - he has some Flash so it may take a while, but he'll
eventually give out. Unless you get him on the tracks, then it'll be a more
instant kind of thing.

Alright, you're finally home. but now there's a car on your tail.

O: Outrun The Rogues' hearse!

This is probably the easiest chase in the whole game. Just pound on the
buttons on-screen - there's 4 of them. You'll outrun the car and
the next cutscene comes up.

It is, of course, in this cutscene that the most famous line of the film
is delivered.

O: Waste Luther!

Luther is no match for any of the Warriors, especially without his gang.
Keep him at a distance and use grapple attacks until he falls.

After you defeat him hand-to-hand, Luther unholsters his revolver and
starts shooting you from behind the fence at the top of the stage.
You must now pelt him with bottles from a distance. You won't be able to
get close enough to use the quick throw, so you'll have to hold L1 and
aim using the arc. Stay behind cover when you're not throwing, and try to
only throw bottles when Luther first comes out from his cover.

If you still have the Flash you started the stage with when Luther sends
the Rogues after you, you're doing fine.

After you've hit Luther enough times, another short cutscene occurs with
Mercy telling you about the knife you have. To throw the knife, you must
press X and Square at the same time. Should you miss, you'll have to get
another one.
After this cutscene, Luther's bullets do far more damage. Also, when you
try to throw the knife, the game will sloooooooooooooooooow down. So be
prepared and only throw the knife when you are SURE you're going to hit
your target.

After one hit with the knife, Luther drops, and the day is won.

NOTE: If a knife spawns before the Mercy cutscene, you can throw it and
end the fight early, and you won't even experience the slowdown!

If you're having a LOT of trouble, I definitely suggest trying this in
co-op. It can be extremely frustrating, especially since all the cover
will almost always get destroyed.

When you finish this...congratulations.

IX. Armies Of The Night

The Gramercy Riffs have kidnapped Mercy!

Armies of the Night is a TOTALLY FREAKIN AWESOME mini-game that's unlocked
upon completion of all the Story Mode levels and the Flashback Levels. It
takes around 30 minutes to complete and is a old-school brawler - the
levels are left to right, you can't backtrack, but there is some depth to
the levels; you can throw enemies towards the top and bottom of the screen.

Tips:

Your 7 credits come back at the start of each level.

There are five levels.

Most of the Flash is hidden in destructible boxes at the top of the screen.

The second time you're fighting Luther, try to hide until he reloads.
Sometimes he won't shoot until he sees you so you WILL use a lot of
credits here.

It isn't over after you've defeated Masai.
