5.0 About the Author

*******************************************************************************

My name is George Petrov (Bulgarian Name) and I currently live in Germany. This
is my very first FAQ and I am 15 years old. It may be my first FAQ and I may be
just 15, but it isn't bad at all. I actually surprised myself :) My email (once
again) is [email protected]. I'm waiting for your emails!!!

6.0 Introduction

*******************************************************************************

The Sims is a very open game in which you live the life of a family and do
everything you would do normally in a 24 hour day. Here are some of the
comments that I got from
http://www.ea.com/eagames/official/thesimsconsole/news.jsp (official site)

GameSpot
"With improved graphics, an intutive control scheme, a brand-new gameplay mode,
and the ability to either compete against or play cooperatively with another
player, The Sims for the PlayStation 2 is clearly much more than a simple
console port of the PC game."

GamePro
"It's the ultimate power trip, and it's getting better with the new features
being added to the Playstation 2."

Electric Playground
"This two-player possibility is very intriguing, allowing someone experienced
to guide a new player through the game--imagine considering a PlayStation 2
game session "quality time" with your parents, siblings, significant other,
great aunt, etc."

Gamers.com
"What separates the Playstation 2 version from the PC Sims? Lots. The coolest
new feature is that the game includes a two-player mode."

PSM Magazine
"...by adding objectives, the console version of The Sims should gain even more
fans...you and a friend can play with or against each other. Are you up for it?
We know we are!"

EGM
"Innovative, level-based, single player architecture...there’s icing, and then
some...controls are simple and intuitive"

EGM
"Layin’ the Smack Down, Sims-style...2 player giving champions ultimate
bragging rights"

Now if you haven't bought the game yet, GO AND GET IT ALREADY, you won't be
disappointed. Read above if you still don't think the game is good.

8.0 Warning

*******************************************************************************

Read at your own risk - this is where the spoilers start and I'm writing this
message to stop people from emailing me saying that I spoiled the game for
them. You must understand that it's hard to write a good FAQ without spoilers.
My item list has a lot of spoilers as you unlock hidden items as you progress
through the game.

10.0 Get a Life FAQ

*******************************************************************************

Finally, the thing you've been all waiting for... the Get a Life FAQ. There are
6 levels altogether, each with its goals and rewards. I will list the goals,
how to achieve them and what item you unlock for each one. WARNING! This is
where the spoilers really start.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

10.1 Money from Mom

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Goals:

Borrow 800 bucks from mom. (Easy)
Fix the TV (Easy)
Maintain House Value (Easy)
Make your very first dinner without starting a fire (Easy)
Get a job (AFTER all other goals are finished)
Do all this in 24 hours (Medium)

First you will find your self in a dream with this girl. Just follow her into
the hot tub to skip this part. (Look around if you intend to do the Get a Life
mode all in once, because some of these items will only be encountered later in
the game)

Now that you woke up, you will find your self in a small house with only your
mom, 200 simoleons and one bed >>Shudder<< Don't worry though, you won't need
any sleep if you're quick enough in accomplishing your goals. This is the order
I did them in. It helps to do them in this order if you want to get through it
in 24 hours.

1. Click on the bookcase and study some mechanics. 2 points is better than one
(you can still fix it with one) because you have time and skills can always be
used in the future levels, or depending on what job you want to take. Anyway
after you're finished studying head to the TV and you should fix it first time.
Well done, you've just unlocked the Vanity Mirror!

2. Now on to cooking. Again, head over to the bookcase and whip up a cooking
book. Yet again I advise 2 points to 1, but it's still your choice. Click on
the fridge and choose quick meal to save time. Don't worry, it says make
dinner, but being selfish and cooking for yourself is OK :)
Aroma Machine Unlocked!

3. On to borrowing 800 bucks. By now you are on your mother's good side,
because of fixing the TV and cooking, so she should easily lend you the money.
Keep clicking on her and ask for money until you've got 800.
The Museum is now available as a 2 player game!

4. Now rush over to the paper outside next to the mailbox and choose a job.
Prize for the level: Treadmill

If you were fast enough and you finished the level in less than 24 hours, you
have just unlocked the Beejaphone Electric Guitar :) Rock on!

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

10.2 Reality Bites

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Goals:

Fix the broken things. (Easy if you got 2 mech. skill points in the beginning)
Clean the place up. (Easy)
Upgrade your abode (value of Property) from 34,500 to 35,700 (Very Easy)
Get promoted to level 2 (easy)
Get promoted to level 3 (medium)
Finish all this in 4 days. (medium...ish)

Ok, now you find your self in a busted up house with lots of trash and lots of
stuff for you to fix (Damn, that must have been some wild party, huh) Now
Dudley comes and gives you the keys to the house in his fancy car. There are 2
skins to unlock here, but lets focus on finishing the level in 4 days.
If you want to, you can ditch finishing it in 4 days (coat of arms...yum yum)
and get the 2 skins. They are:

Purple Skirt if you make friends with Pauline Peacock
Purple hip huggers if you make friends with Pierre Peacock (I call it the
purple family)

1. Righty then, onto the goals. First we're going to do some house cleaning.
There is loads of thrash and spills scattered all around the house. You must
clean and mop up all of the spills and thrash in order to unlock the prize.
There will be a message as always telling you that you've unlocked an item.
This time it's not an item. You've just unlocked the maid which you'll find
very useful in further levels. Right, on to....

2. Fix all the broken things. Clogged toilets, broken TV... this house has it
all. You must fix everything in order to unlock the repairman. Just like the
maid, you will find this very useful in the next levels.

3. Upgrade your abode. Buy something useful and put it IN your house to
accomplish this goal. My personal favorite is the virtual reality goggles, but
if they are too expensive then just buy something else. You MUST spend at least
1,500 simoleons to upgrade your abode in this level. Don't sell anything
because you'll have to replace it after that.
You've just unlocked one of the most useful objects in the whole game!!! The
bug zapper. Now you'll never need to sleep again :D (read my section "12.0
Satisfying a sim's Needs" for more info.)

4. Get promoted to level 2. All you need to do is go to work with at least one
green (mood bar) point as you enter the car in order to get promoted.
You can now buy an Ice Chest.
Note: There have been a lot of e-mails concerning this issue, so I'll make
myself clear. You need to go to work with one OVERALL green point in your mood
bar, not one completely full green bar from the 8. Read my "Satisfying a Sim's
needs section for more information on lifting your sim's mood.

5. Get promoted to level 3. Depending on what job you took, you will now have
to upgrade your skills. You have to be in a good mood to upgrade your skills
otherwise your sim won't do what you tell him / her. After you've upgraded your
needed skills, go to work in a good mood and voila! Career level 3.
Teppanyaki Table is unlocked.

You will also get the Frat House (Multiplayer Level) as a bonus for moving out.

If you completed all this in less than 4 days, you will also have unlocked the
coat of arms.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

10.3 Party Animals

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Goals:

Get promoted to level 4. (Medium)
Get promoted to level 5. (Medium)
Upgrade your abode from 53,200 to 54,700 (Easy)
Throw a raging party. (First one's always hard)
Make friends with one of the guests and "ask to be roommate" (easy)
Finish this all in 8 days (Medium)
Feed Bobo the bum. (depends on if you look at the people walking on the street
or not, so I'll give it a (Medium)
Get through the house in eight days. (Medium)

Congratulations, you've just seen your first roommate, so keeping your social
bar in tact is easier than before. But when you find out how lazy he is, you
won't be so happy. He doesn't even lift a finger to do anything other than go
to work and earn useless money. This is the first level that may give you some
problems because of the party. No fear, here is what I think is the best
strategy to do this. (Oh and here are the skins you can unlock if you want to
miss out on the Head in Curio Jar (I wouldn't) Also keep a lookout for Bobo the
Bum (he passes your house every now and again) and feed him to unlock a
multiplayer level.

Make friends with Dudley to unlock camouflage pants.
Make friends with Fran to unlock cheerleader ponytail.
Make friends with Freddy to unlock Mullet hairstyle.
Make friends with Mimi to unlock cat ears ponytail.
Make friends with Leon to unlock bowling t-shirt.
Make friends with Layla to unlock Fishnet stockings.
Make friends with Carlos to unlock Mohawk hairstyle.
Make friends with Bingo to unlock Liberty (ahhh... gta3) spikes hairstyle.
Make friends with Zara to unlock flirty red camisole.
Make friends with Betty to unlock backward baseball cap.

1. First of all, you must work on your career. Be careful now, as by this point
you'll probably need some friends, so make some!!! Check what skills you need
for your next job upgrade and work on them FIRST. Then get the nr. of friends
you need and as usual go to work in a good mood. This shouldn't take you more
than 2 days if you want the special jar.
STRIP POKER TABLE!!! Go to the top and check out that nude sims cheat :=D

2. Now do the same with level 5. Again this shouldn't take you too much time if
you want that jar.
Master suite tub unlocked! (the one from your dream, remember?)

3. Buy Goggles (virtual reality) to increase your house value. They're very
good for your critical in this stage of the game FUN bar.
Tree Swing unlocked... pretty useless.

4. Throw a raging party. God knows how many times I've explained how to do this
to my friends, but to do it in text... I'll do my best. Firstly you should
immediately save if you managed to do the first 3 goals in less than 4 days.
That leaves you with another 4 days to do these 2 goals and that should just be
enough. Now there are billions upon billions of ways to do this, but I'll just
say what I did. This may, and probably will take you more than one try to
master, but be patient and you'll be OK.

Now before you do anything, it is critical that you get Dudley to phone one of
his (If you want to see action in the next level) female friend and use the 1st
of these 4 remaining days to get to know her. You must get her as close to 100
as you can in this day. If you manage this in a day, and have 3 days left,
SAVE. If not, then you still have a chance, so don't give up. Now get your mood
up as high as you can and prepare to skip work. (You can get away with this
once per level.) If needed, have Dudley cook 2 times, (he only grills) turn on
the stereo, turn on the TV while your sim is sleeping. You need him in a very
good mood to pull this off. Dudley is not needed at all, in fact, make him even
make the phone call, so that you can be in the best of moods when your guests
arrive.

Note: I have been accused of being sexist :) sorry for being so thoughtless,
but unintentionally I have mentioned "female" friend while thinking of my sim.
Since I'm male myself, my sim is male as well, so this FAQ is written from a
male point of view too... So try to bear with me if I have made the same
mistake anywhere else in this guide.

You will probably need the following things:

 - 2x hot tub (you already have one)
 - Stereo
 - LOTS and I mean LOTS of food to keep your guests happy. You'll be surpriced
at how much food your fellow sims can gobble down in a matter of seconds...
 - Have YOUR sim in a good mood... make Dudley go in the hot tub so some
guests can follow him... he is not needed.

By now the message saying that the party is raging should have arrived.

The motel multiplayer level is now unlocked, but that isn't important now.

DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS BEFORE HAVING ACCOMPLISHED ALL OF THE PREVIOUS GOALS! Sniff
out the sim that you got to know earlier on and ask him / her to move in with
you. 99% of the time, they'll say yes. HOWEVER, if they don't, you should still
have time for another party, and then he / she is bound to move in with you.
Congrats, you now have the precious head in a curio jar (if you did this in
less than 8 days)

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

10.4 Hot to Trot

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Goals:

Get promoted to level 6. (Medium)
Get promoted to level 7. (Medium)
Upgrade your abode from 46,050 to 48,050. (Easy)
Throw a raging party. (Medium now that you've thrown one already and know how)
Try score with a party guest. (Easy)
Feed Bobo the bum. (If you haven't done so already)
*Get through the house in eight days (Hard)

*Not recommended. It's very hard to accomplish anyway, but that's not the
reason why. Read below to learn why.

Right, time to get serious! By now you should know what requirements your job
has. In this level we're going to work on those. Every job has 3 main skills
that you need to upgrade. Now if you don't do them in this level, it'll get
very difficult in the last 2 levels. You won't manage to finish this in the
time limit if you work on your skills, but you'll only lose a Jukebox. This in
my opinion is the worst prize that you get from doing a level in a certain
time, so I (if I were you) would work on my skills in this one. As we can take
this level slowly, here are all the skins you can get by making these people
friends:

Make friends with Thomas to unlock a new hat.
Make friends with Theresa to unlock a new hairstyle.
Make friends with Pamela to unlock a new hairstyle.
Make friends with Ginger to unlock cat-eye sunglasses.
Make friends with Debbie to unlock genie blouse.
Make friends with Candy to unlock tiger striped T-Shirt.
Make friends with May to unlock hippie jeans.
Make friends with Rod to unlock cowboy :) shirt.
Make friends with Peter to unlock a new coat.
Make friends with Randy to unlock gold rimmed sunglasses.
Make friends with Woody to unlock lightning bolt sunglasses.
Make friends with Ziggy to unlock a new hairstyle.

1. Lets start off by getting a promotion. Your sim is in a good mood now, so
getting the skills required should be a piece of cake. Get your mood high and
go to work. After 9 hours of hard work, you will have a promotion and you
should have unlocked the best item for hygiene and comfort...
The sonic shower.

2. Get some more skill points, and make your other sim do all the work while
you aren't at home, or while you're sleeping. Also, if you still need friends
for the next job promotion, you can get them using your roommate. They count as
family friends no matter which of your sims gets them. Go to work in a good
mood and you've got the next prize.
Carving block. See what crap your sims come up with when they don't have any
creativity points ;=)

3. Upgrading your abode should not prove difficult. Just spend 2,000 simoleons
on whatever you decide is needed and you've done it.
Love bed unlocked!!! Now your sims can "Play" in bed.

4. Lift your sims mood before going to work and just as you're about to come
back, get your roommate to clean, (if your maid hasn't done it yet) cook, and
if needed order pizza because it's time to throw a raging party! What I did is:

- Get 3 plates of food ready for your guests. (2 should do the job as well)

- Let them in and grab a plate with your main sim.

- After you're finished eating, head over to the hot tub with one of your
sims, and make the other play strip poker.

Once there are 3 sims in the hot tub and you're playing strip poker with 2
other sims, it should give you that message saying how good your party is,
blah blah blah, and you have unlocked 2 multiplayer levels. They are:

Club ABI and Taylor's Palace.

5. Now look at your skills, and the 3 that your job requires the most, should
be upgraded to maximum. I know it takes time, but it'll make your life a lot
easier in the next 2 levels. You get:
Absolutely nothing :) (but you'll see how much it helps later on)

6. Now throw another party (you don't even need food) and get the sim that we
were working on earlier to 100. After that, kiss him/her and ONLY THEN attempt
to score. I know it might sound stupid, but they wont score even if your
relationship is on 100 if you don't get them in love first. If you ignored my
pleas to knock sense into your head, and did this level fast, you have just
unlocked the Whirl 'n Hurl Jukebox. But if you DIDN'T get it and you DIDN'T
upgrade your skills, then I'm gonna laugh in your face! :)

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

10.5 Who Loves Ya Baby

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Goals:

Get promoted to level 8. (Easy if you got your skills maxed out in the previous
level)
Get promoted to level 9. (second last) (Easy if you got your skills maxed out
in the previous level)
Upgrade your abode from 69,400 to 73,400. (easy, look at the map below)
Have two babies. (Easy)
Take care of babies until they grow up. (Irritating, but easy)
Keep the (now grown) kids in school. (Easy)
Feed Bobo the bum. (If you haven't done so already)
Get married IF you for some strange reason get divorced. (Easy)
Get through the house in 8 days. (Close to impossible)

Make friends with Charles to unlock Red Blazer.
Make friends with Chantal to unlock Egyptian Hairstyle.

1. This is a rough, bird's eye view (Not to scale) map I made to help you in
this level. It is important that both the children and parents have a bathroom
and a bedroom each. The walls made with == in the kitchen should be removed.
You will find all the furniture in (the way I arranged my house) the bathroom
and children's bedroom. Your first job (before you even think of starting the
live mode) is to arrange and buy all the furniture. I found this part the most
fun from all the "Get a life" levels. Arrange them to your liking so that we
can start living. There are NO kitchen items, so be careful what you buy. You
should first furnish your kitchen, then buy all the lighting you need, and ONLY
THEN start buying anything extra if you still have money left over. I found my
money and furniture meter just enough to make a house that is easy to live in.

2. Right, now that you've (hopefully) got the house all sorted out, you can
press that start button and start living. First thing to do is usually get your
job promotions, right? WRONG. In this level your first step will be to get both
you and your wife/husband in the heart shaped bath and once both of them are
inside, there will be a new option to "Play". Do that and a baby will appear.
Name it, and put the cradle in the parents' bedroom. You must look after this
and another baby. (later on)

3. Don't give the other sim a job, as he/she will be busy enough looking after
the kids. Upgrade your skills (Which will be difficult now if you didn't listen
to me because you'll need to look after 2 kids and another sim) and after you
have, go to work in a good mood. Your next promotion unlocks...
The Maids House 2 player game.

4. Just as in Number 3, except that these skills will be even more difficult to
learn. You will also need a couple of more friends, I presume. AS usual, go to
work in a good mood and you unlock:
TWO NEW SWIMING POOLS!!! (I love this game) :)

5. By now your baby should be a child, (you've unlocked the sandbox) so keep
sending him/her to school and you shouldn't have any problems with him/her.
(I'll just say him from now on) Now you need another child. If one hasn't been
born already, (happens from time to time... wonder who the father is, LOL) get
in the heart shaped bathtub and get it on. Name it and raise it to a child.

Lawn Sprinkler unlocked!

Note: Your children can't cook for themselves, or use some of the objects in
the house i.e. sonic shower, coffee machine, ex. ex. so make your sim help them
with that. Also buy a new shower (not the sonic one) and put it in the
children's bathroom.

And if you finished the house in 8 days or less, (I must admit, I didn't) claim
your newly acquired Bearskin Rug.

Whew, 5 down and one to go. This guide is still nowhere near finished though.
Move on to the last level in Get a Life. Don't worry though; with the skills
you got in "Hot to Trot", this level is going to be easy! On to...

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

10.6 The Last Simoleon

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Goals:

Get promoted to level 10 (The last job level, see my section 14.0 Job List)
(Easy if you have the skills, hard if you don't)
Send both kids to prep school. (both must have A's and you must pay 1,500
simoleons for each) (medium)
Save up 20,000 simoleons for a yacht. (Takes a long time, but easy with career
level 10)
Throw a HUGE party for your retirement. (previous goals must be complete)
(Medium)
Have a baby (if one of the kids dies)
Get through the house in 8 days (Piece of cake) (Read below. You may consider
this cheating, but it'll guarantee you the Rhino Trophy)

One level left!!! Are you exited? Let's start off by telling you the options.
You can either do this level in no time at all, using a money glitch, or you
can spend at least 20 sim days in collecting your pay check in order to buy the
yacht. I'm gonna explain both. Ready?

1. First thing's first. Start off by furnishing your house. If you by any
chance run out of money or furnish meter, lose the swimming pool. It should
give you some more furnish meter and money. Be careful as lighting takes away a
lot of the meter. Once your finished furnishing the house, lets get that last
promotion so that we can start saving up for the yacht. (Only if you insist in
playing 100% Fair)

2. Getting this promotion will be very tough if you didn't upgrade your skills
in the previous levels. You will probably need a whole day to get just one
skill point you need. Keep your sim socially active and feed him regularly and
your promotion will come. (The feeling is overwhelming when the message telling
you that you peaked in your career comes)
Multiplayer Level "The Park" unlocked! (Only if you didn't unlock it already)

3. While you were training your sim for a job promotion, make the kids study as
well. Kids go up a grade very fast as opposed to parents so your kids will
probably be in prep school before you're anywhere near getting the promotion
level 10. Make sure you have 3,000 stashed up because it costs 1,500 for each
child you send to prep school.
Monkey Butler unlocked! This is the "Ultimate item" as I like to call it. Build
it to see what you get! I'll keep it a surprise. (Not in the item section
though)

4. Time to save up. No tips for that really, just make your sim go to work
about 20 days and you should of saved up for a yacht. But why do that? You can
save up 20,000 Simoleons in a matter of 40 seconds! Just use the money glitch.
It is listed in the glitch section, but because this section isn't started yet,
I will put it down here. So here it is:

EASY MONEY GLITCH:

1. Build a LONG wall from one end of your lot to the other.

2. Take the MOST expensive wallpaper and put it around BOTH sides of the wall.
(you can change which side you're painting by pressing L2/R2)

3. Now press [] on one end of the wall and DRAG to the other. ([] Sells)

4. IMEDIATELY after you release [] start tapping it as fast as you can. You
will now sell the wallpaper over and over again for every time you press []
even though there's no wallpaper to sell :-).

5. Do this until you've saved up 20,00 (Or more ;-D) and answer your phone call
informing you that you now have a brand new yacht!

6. Time for the last retirement party. I found this party the easiest of all up
to now even though it's meant to be something like a "Final Boss". All you need
is a 6 person table, 6 chairs which should be positioned like this so that
there is no overlapping:

                  1
         +-----------------+
      4  | .      .      . | 2
         |                 |
         |                 |
      5  | .      .      . | 3
         |                 |
         +-----------------+
                  6

And at least 2 plates of food. No need for a hot tub or anything fancy, just
food and a big table. Now sit back and relax, as you have just finished the Get
a Life mode! Now let's do it again so we can unlock all the items and skins we
missed up to now... Just kiddin. If you used the "Money Glitch" you should have
finished the level fast, thus unlocking the:
Rhino trophy and an ending scene! Enjoy :-D

Now type in the MIDAS code and start your own neighborhood. Good Luck!

*******************************************************************************

11.0 Creating a Sim

*******************************************************************************

In this section I will give you tips on creating your sim. Ther's a couple of
things to consider before doing this and I will cover them here.
Note: I have been emailed by Chris Ley abiout my sim's number of skills
exceeding the limit. I know this and I wrote having in my mind the IDEAL number
of points, not the actual points that my sim has.

So you will have to take out a point or two from the ones that I wrote.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

11.1 Neat

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

I personally dislike having any neatness at all. I recommend that you take away
any neatness points your sim has. Read on to see why.

What does it do?

Neatness basically makes your sims do things automatically, most of which just
waste precious time. Most, if not all can be done by the maid. The more
neatness points you give your sims, the bigger the chance he/she will do these
things automatically:

- Automatically wash their hands after going to the toilet. This is the only
good thing about having neatness points. Everything else wastes time. This
isn't very good anyway, because washing your sim's hands fills up only a
minimal part of his hygiene bar.

(This is where all the negative things start)

- Automatically flush toilet after they're finished with their business. (Only
for the cheap model toilets) Wastes time and the maid does it for you.

- Automatically make bed after sleeping. Total waste of time and again, the
maid does it.

- Automatically throw away trash. (packet of chips for example) You have no
idea how much a man can swear when a sim misses work because he/she decided to
throw away thrash, just as they were supposed to be getting in the car... Maid
does it for you and saves you the time it takes to get to the dust bin.

- Automatically wash / put in dishwasher any dishes after eating. What a total
waste of time. Everything the neatness bar does is a waste of time, since
everything can be done by the maid... think again before putting any neatness
points onto your sim when you're creating him/her. Plus it saves you some
points to put onto the other 4 important bars.

My sim has (out of 10) 0 neatness points.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

11.2 Outgoing

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Do you want a _real_ party animal? Well make sure you give your sims a lot of
outgoing points. Outgoing sims enjoy dancing, listening to music and most of
all partying! Less sleep (and work) and more play is probably what they like.
Fill this bar up and start the party! :)

My sim has (out of 10) 8 outgoing points.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

11.3 Active

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Give your sims a whole load of these and throw away your bookcase. :) Time to
get a guitar! Combine it with some outgoing points and your sim will become THE
party animal of the neighborhood... Give him/her as many points as you want -
no way can it hurt you :)

My sim has (out of 10) 7 Active points.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

11.4 Playful

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The name says it all... and more. Playful sims enjoy well... "playing" in bed.
:D But that's not all. Playful sims get options like "kiss" or "flirt" much
earlier in a relationship than the other type. (can't think of the opposite to
playful) I found I could already kiss Debbie after 60 points of relationship
(for which I got slapped, LOL) where as if I try the same with a boring sim,
(aha, boring, I can think of a word after all!) it only lets me do these things
later on. (80 for kiss and about 68 for flirt)

My sim has (out of 10) 7 playful points.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

11.5 Nice

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The most important bar of all is this one - the nice bar. Have too little of
this and getting that highly needed promotion will become very difficult indeed
because of lack of friends. Phoning other sims up and screaming in their ear
(due to lack of manners and niceness) does not amuse them at all... Raise your
nice bar as high as you can because one of the most irritating things in
getting a promotion is the number of friends you need, so my advice is, be nice
to other sims and they will become your friends. :)

My sim has (out of 10) 10 nice points. (hehehe, "nice" points :D)

*******************************************************************************

12.0 Satisfying a Sim's Needs

*******************************************************************************

Ever wanted to strangle your sim because his/her mood bar wouldn't rise no
matter what you do? Look no further because you've come to the right place! In
this section I will try to explain the best strategies for filling each of the
8 bars. Some will be more difficult than others like the social bar, but some
of them are really easy. Regardless, here are all the different bars and
strategies on how to keep them full!

Tip: Never let any of the bars drop all the way unless you can't help it. A
completely sunk bar affects your general mood bar far worse than 2 half sunken
bars.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

12.1 Hunger

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

1. There are numerous ways to fill this bar, my recommendation being the most
expensive fridge. Yes, I know it costs a lot, but hunger is one of the most
important bars to fill and it'll be easy with that fridge and any old stove.

Below are a few ways of filling your hunger bar. (not all, but all the main
ones)

Pizza: Order a pizza from any telephone and bring it in when the pizza boy
arrives. Highly recommended for parties, guests love it, but you need to eat 2
pieces in order to fill the bar and pizza is expensive...

Cheap fridge: NEVER BUY THIS!!! At least 2 meals are required to fill the bar
and that takes a lot of time... I would never use this fridge.

Medium priced fridge: A snack and a full meal are required to fill the bar...
you decide whether to use this fridge or...

Expensive fridge: The price is worth it. This fridge is perfect. Only one meal
is needed to fill the bar and that saves a lot of time. The best fridge by far,
but very expensive... if you can afford it, then don't think again!!! Just get
it.

BBQ: The barbeque... fast cooking time, but 2 meals required to fill the bar.
Disadvantaged, because it can't be used inside. I don't recommend this item.

Solution: Buy the expensive fridge.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

12.2 Hygiene

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

There are a lot of ways to fill this bar, however the best by far is the Sonic
shower that you unlock in the 4th level. It gives you 10 Hygiene points and 8
comfort points. It can be used to fill 2 bars at the same time VERY fast.

Note: Kids can't use this item, but then again, who needs pesky kids anyway? :D
Just kiddin. Buy the other shower or the bath and you should be just fine.

Solution: Buy the sonic shower.

Note: If you get in an unclean sonic shower, you will start spinning out of
control and you won't raise any of the hygiene bar. If an option "clean" comes
up when you want to take a shower - do that first - it takes exactly 2 seconds
to do it.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

12.3 Energy

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Did you think you need to sleep to fill this bar up... well I have the pleasure
to tell you that in fact you don't. I don't even have a bed in my house at the
moment. Buy the bug zapper and keep touching it - every touch fills one 5th of
the bar... a lot faster than sleeping and a lot better. This can be rather bad
because it lowers your comfort bar to the lowest possible, but hey, think about
it: How long does it take you to fill the energy bar and now ask the same
question about the comfort bar... you see, this works miles faster. Strategy by
me!!! (If you find it hard to keep up with the game, then forget what I've just
said and get your self a bed. Sleeping is the easier, but slower option. Your
choice...) Another alternative is to buy the expensive coffee machine, but that
fills your bladder up and it takes longer (than touching the zapper) to fill
the bar. Either way, both methods are BY FAR faster and better than sleeping.
NEVER, EVER, EVER sleep when you can afford not to ;)

Note: You unlock the zapper on one of the get a life missions, but I'm not sure
which one. (you can always scroll up and look it up yourself :D)

Solution: 1. Keep touching bug zapper. (the best)
2. Drink a lot of coffee.
3. Make like a human and sleep :)

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

12.4 Social

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The most difficult bar to keep full.... I hate the social bar... BUT there is a
way to keep it in tact if you plan well enough. Always have a roommate. Never
make a house with one sim. Remember that. Otherwise the social bar is close to
impossible to keep full. Anyway, get in a hot tub and have the other sim come
in with you (if he's a guest) if he's your roommate, then simply choose him and
make him go in as well. This is the fastest way to get this bar full, and it
still isn't very fast. Don't worry though, once your social bar is full, it
takes at least 3 days for it to sink again, so you don't have to worry about it
too much. Another alternative is to have sims eat together, that way you're
filling 2 bars at the same time, but you can only eat for so long, and it takes
longer to fill the bar by eating, than by hot tubbing together. Don't try to
fill this bar up by simply talking, and not doing anything else, because that
is the most difficult way to get this bar full.

Solution: Make two sims eat, relax in a hot tub, watch TV ex. TOGETHER at the
SAME time.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

12.5 Comfort

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Having a sonic shower always helps to keep this bar in tip-top shape. If you
make your sims sleep, (unlike me) you won't ever have a problem with this bar
at all. If however you use the bug zapper to gain your energy, then it will
prove very difficult to always have this bar full due to the zapper decreasing
your comfort bar to minimum after every touch. Have a comfy chair and take of
the free will while resting on it. (sims can get very restless if you make them
sit for too long, but taking the free will off doesn't really leave them a
chance, now does it?)

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

12.6 Bladder

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Only 2 ways to keep this bar up: piss on the floor or piss in the toilet...
your choice :)

Solution: Take a pee already, do I even have to help you with that? :D

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

12.7 Fun

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Fun: There is more than a ZILLION ways to fill this bar... I don't know why
people HAVE to have a TV, a computer, a stereo... You don't need 5000 things to
fill one bloody bar up, for God's sake!!! You need ONE thing and that is either
the expensive computer or the virtual reality goggles. My buy is the goggles,
but hey, it's up to you what you buy. The computer is insanely expensive, but
faster in getting your bar up. If you can spare say... 10000 bucks for the
comp, then be my guest by all means :)  Overall, I would recommend buying the
goggles. They succeed in filling your bar up only a few seconds slower than the
PC does, and cost 6000 less.

Solution: Buy virtual reality goggles.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

12.8 Room

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

I personally put a lot of thought and time into building a house for my sims,
so I don't have the slightest worry about this bar. Try putting pictures up in
the areas that your sims spend their time in the most. They are sure to keep
the bar high enough.

Solution: Learn to build a good house. A FAQ can't teach you that. (Well
actually it can, but I myself could never be arsed) :D

Alternative: Buy expensive decoration stuff.

*******************************************************************************

13.0 Sim Skills

*******************************************************************************

Wandering what all those empty bars when you press left are? Well they're your
so called (by me) sim skills. Every job requires some new skills to be learned
in order to get a promotion. Be it your "body" or "charisma" skills, I'm here
to explain it all.

Note: Please email me if I've missed any items that can raise skills.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

13.1 Cooking

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Items that raise Cooking skills:

1. All the bookcases.

Cooking skills can also be useful at home, not only at work. Having more
cooking skills makes your food taste better (yes, this is tested) thus getting
your hunger bar filled easier and helps to prevent the stove from catching fire
while cooking.
If you don't need it for any job promotions, I recommend 3 cooking skill
points. You can get away with 2, but there is still the occasional fire every
now and again.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

13.2 Mechanical

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Items that raise Mechanical skills:

1. All the bookcases.

2. Mechanics Table (an expensive mini workshop)

As cooking, mechanical skills can also be of some use to you at home. Over
time, certain things in the house break, ex. TV, microwave, shower, exc. What
you can do then is either: Fix it yourself, hire a repairman or replace the
broken object. This is where your mechanical skills come in handy. I would
still hire a repairman if I were you, but if you need to fix something really
fast, then you need to do it yourself. Attempting to do this with no mechanical
skills can get your sim KILLED! However, a good 5 or 6 hours of learning should
get you the needed skills to repair almost everything. With every mechanical
skill you gain, repair time gets less and less, but I really don't think you
will need more than 2 mechanical points to survive _almost_ every repairing
session you have.

Note: During get a life mode I had exactly 2 objects break (except the already
broken things in level 1 and 2) so really, CHILL, you don't need mechanical
skills!

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

13.3 Creative

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Items that raise Creative skills: (I can bet you a million bucks I missed some)
Please notify me if I did.

1. Artist's Block

2. Guitar

3. Piano

4. Drawing Block

More to come soon, I'm sure ;)

So many items, yet this has absolutely no use to you unless your job requires
it. Creative skills do absolutely nothing noticeable in the game apart from
getting you big fat promotions. (not always)
I recommend ..Big surprise.. 0 creativity points :D unless your job states
otherwise.

*Update: It has been pointed out to me that creative skills can be very useful:
more useful than a job. If your creative skill is high enough, you can sell
your works for a lot of money.
Way too many emails to give credit so, thanx all!

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

13.4 Body

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Items that raise Body skills:

1. Treadmill (walk does it slow, jog medium, and run the fastest but sometimes
your sim falls off.

2. Exercise Machine (slower than run mode on treadmill)

3. Swimming Pool (one of these and you've used up a whole roomful of furniture
meter)

As the previous, this makes absolutely no change to the gameplay in The Sims.
So unless your job needs it for a promotion, you don't have to worry about this
bar.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

13.5. Logic

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Items that raise Logic skills:

1. Telescope

2. Chess Set

Yet another pointless skill in the game. Again, if you don't need it for a job,
don't raise this skill.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

13.6 Charisma

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Items that raise Charisma skills:

1. Mirror

2. Wall mirror

3. Bedroom mirror... you catching my drift?

Your sims seem to be vampires since you can't see your self in the mirror when
walking by... how odd. But let's not bet sidetracked. Charisma. Many jobs
require high charisma skills and the only way to raise these is to simply pop
in front of any mirror and "Practice your speech." Charisma skills MAY have an
effect on the way your sim communicates with other sims, but this is totally
unconfirmed. Apart from that possibility, charisma skills can only be of any
use at work.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

13.7 Study

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Items that raise Study (grade) skills:

1. Any computer

2. Any bookcase

Just like adults, kids have ways to improve their "career" too. If you're kids
are slacking too much, make them hit the books in order for them to get better
grades. Of course, with the advanced technology we have these days, children
can study using a computer too. There is absolutely no change in gameplay from
what grade you have, but in get a life mode on the last level if your kids get
A's and you have 1,500 simoleons they go to prep school... I'm not sure if the
same applies in the normal "play the sims" mode. I'll have to confirm that too.

*******************************************************************************

14.0 Job list

*******************************************************************************

Behold! I have finally completed my job list! (I don't like posting anything
with an unfinished section in it) So here goes: Hope you find this helpful!
Note: I have had a zillion emails concerning the friends issue, so I will clear
up all the confusement. You only have a friend when your relationship with that
person reaches a certain point. Then you will get a notice saying that you have
made a new family friend and there will be a blue smiley face next to their
name. This usually happens at around 60 points of relationship. Only knowing a
person at a low relationship level does not make him/her a friend. Now with
that cleared up, I can go on.

All credit to me418 for the info.

15.0 Full Item List

*******************************************************************************

Here is a handy Item List for you to have. Lucky me I have a digital camera (my
TV is not in the same room as my PC) because otherwise it would of taken me a
century to compose this... well here goes nothing: (actually here goes a few
hours of hard work..)

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

15.1 Chairs

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Werkbunnst All Purpose Chair
 price: $80
 comfort: 2

Notes: An uncomfortable cheap chair... no wonder your sims complain of back
pains! ;)

"Posture Plus" Office Chair
 price: $100
 comfort: 3

Notes: The kind of chair you're most likely to be sitting on now.

Deck Chair by Survivall
 price: $150
 comfort: 3

Notes: A semi-modern looking desk chair. Nothing interesting.

Contempto Loveseat
 price: $150
 comfort: 3
 Energy: 4

Notes: A cheap couch to watch TV on... not very comfortable though...

Satinistics Reproduction Armchair
 price: $155
 comfort: 3

Notes: Just another _bad_ way to get your comfort bar up... the price is higher
than it should be.

Contempto Couch
 price: $180
 comfort: 2
 Energy: 5

Notes: A cheap way to get cheap energy. About as comfy as your grandma's leg
though...

Country Class Armchair
 price: $250
 comfort: 4

Notes: A nice and cozy chair to snuggle up in next to the fire (mind you not
too close!) and dream away. (Needless to say I'm running out of notes for the
same things over and over again)

Parque Frisco del Aire Bench
 price: $250
 comfort: 2

Notes: A nice bench to put outside in the garden next to the pool. (If your
furnish meter allows it)

"Black Slack" Recliner
 price: $250
 comfort: 6
 Energy: 3

Notes: Now this is something neat to have. A cheap, comfy chair with sleek
design to suit any and every sim's needs!

Spartan Special
 price: $300
 comfort: 6
 Energy: 7

Notes: This is seventh heaven for tight budgeted sims. If your sims ever need
sleep, this bed should provide it perfectly!

Country Class Loveseat
 price: $340
 comfort: 5
 Energy: 4

Notes: Medium comfort, medium price, medium rewards. Perfect for getting cozy
by the fire.

Country Class Sofa
 price: $450
 comfort: 5
 Energy: 5

Notes: A nice, comfy sofa for "quality" family time spent in front of the TV. 3
sears enable more family members to enjoy TV at once.

Tyke Nyte Bed
 price: $450
 comfort: 7
 Energy: 7

Notes: The perfect bed for kids. If you by any chance have one, then buy them
this bed. (not recommended, having kids I mean)

Cheap Eazzzzza Double Sleaper
 price: $450
 comfort: 7
 Energy: 8

Notes: The name says it all! This cheap bed provides a sure good night's sleep
and what's more, it provides it for 2 sims at a time! Very good bed!

"The Sarrbach" by Werkbunnst
 price: $500
 comfort: 6

Notes: Insane price, insanely low rewards. I can't see any reason to buy THIS
chair out of all the rest.

Empress Dining Room Chair
 price: $600
 comfort: 4
 Room: 2

Notes: Perfect quality and style for rich sims only. The Empress Dining Room
Chair is the only way to go if your paycheck exceeds anything over $1000...

"Von Braun" Recliner
 price: $850
 comfort: 9
 Energy: 3

Notes: Bring the space shuttle chair home! Extremely comfortable high quality
at an affordable price! *Cough cough, affordable, cough*

Luxuriare Loveseat
 price: $875
 comfort: 8
 Energy: 4
 Room: 2

Notes: A luxury couch designed for 2. One of the very best coaches around on
the market. Made of lamb skin leather. *Yuck*

Napoleon Sleigh Bed
 price: $1,000
 comfort: 8
 Energy: 9

Notes: Great and comfy, the Napoleon Sleigh Bed brings out the Emperor in your
sims.

"The Deiter" by Werkbunnst
 price: $1,100
 comfort: 8
 Energy: 5
 Room: 3

Notes: Finally something worth buying by Werkbunnst. This is the perfect (but
most expensive) couch of all. Sleek design accompanied by high comfort make
this the rich sim's best friend.

Modern Mission Bed
 price: $3,000
 comfort: 9
 Energy: 10
 Room: 3

Notes: Better go and sell a kid or two if you want this bed... this is as good
as it gets. The best bed by far! Mommy, don't...

The Vibromatic Heart Bed
 price: $4,500
 comfort: 10
 Energy: 10

Notes: For crazy lovers only! The Vibromatic Heart Bed comes complete with 2
modes: sleep or vibrate. The only bed which lets couples "play" in bed.

15.2 Tables

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Pinegulcher End Table
price: $40

Notes: Cheap, one slotted, efficiently place saving. Looks like S*** though :)

Wicked Breeze End Table
price: $55

Notes: Same as before, but a lot better looking. Just as effective though.

KinderStuff Nightstand
price: $75

Notes: I have no idea what this does. (please email me if you know!) I think
you can put things on it, but I'm not sure.

Mesquite Desk/Table
price $80

Notes: A cheap, good looking table for an office, study or even kitchen.

NuMica Folding Card Table
price: $95

Notes: The name says it all: The table is ideal for a small kitchen in a less
luxurious house.

"Anywhere: End table
price: $120

Notes: A little expensive for what you get. If you're poor and need a clock
table, buy one of the other (cheaper) ones.

NuMica Kitchen Counter
price: $150

Notes: The cheapest of the counters. Counters are essential in every kitchen so
if you don't mind the simple design, buy this one.

Backwoods Table by Survivall
price: $200

Notes: The ideal table for the dining room. Cost efficient and relatively good
looking.

London "Cupertino" Collection Desk/Table
price: $220

Notes: Good for a stylish looking study. Be careful when placing, as only one
side has a place for a chair.

Tiled Counter
price: $250

Notes: Too expensive for its own good. I would stick to the other counter if i
were you.

Modern Mission End Table
price: $250
Room: 1

Notes: Anybody else have a good reason to not buy this? *1000 hands rise*
Way too expensive for a one slotted counter, unless you're a big fan of the
Modern Mission collection, don't buy this.
*Or you could buy it if you care about the 1 room.

Count Blanc Bathroom Counter
price: $400

Notes: Frankly i really can't think of a reason to have a counter in your
bathroom but if you must, be my guest, buy.

London "Mesa" Dining Design
price: $450
Room: 2

Notes: Now this is a good table to have, as it improves on the room bar and
isn't too expensive.

The "Redmond" Desk/Table
price: $800
Room: 2

Notes: Way too expensive, only 2 slotted, crappy looking. I find absolutely no
reason to buy this table over the last one!

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

15.3 Decoration

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Pink Flamingo
price: $12
Room: 2

Notes: Absurdly cheap, but effective ;)
Place a row of those between your house and where the car parks for work and
your sim will always go to work with his room bar filled up.

African Violet
price: $30
Room: 1

Notes: Plants are annoying because they need watering but if you like them,
then buy a couple.

Spider Plant
price: $35
Room: 1

Notes: Another plant to put on a table.

"Roxana" Geranium
price: $45
Room: 1

Notes: Another annoying little flower that dies in a week if you don't have a
gardener.

What a Gas! Party Balloons
price: $50
Room: 3

Notes: 50 bucks for a couple of colored balloons that pop in a couple of
hours!?! Does anybody else feel ripped off? Great for parties but leave a mess
behind after they pop.

Watercolor by J.M.E
price: $75
Room: 1

Notes: Mr. J should be strangled and thrown in a river for these ugly
paintings...

Queen Vivanco Roses
Price: $99
Room: 1

Notes: A good gift for Valentines Day, now all we need is to actually know when
valentines day is...

Rubber Tree Plant
Price: $120
Room: 2

Now that's a good plant to have. 2 room and a longer life are 2 of the reasons
to buy it.

Echinopsis Maximus Cactus
Price: $150
Room: 2

Notes: A funny looking cactus which is ideal for a dining room next to the
couch.

Jade Plant
Price: $160
Room: 2

Notes: A little too expensive for its 2 room, but if you like the way it looks,
then buy it.

Poseidon's Adventure Aquarium
Price: $200
Fun: 1
Room: 2

Notes: A great thing to have, just don't forget top feed the fish and clean the
aquarium regularly if you don't want little Jimmy to run to you crying "Mommy
mommy, the fishies aren't swimming any more"

Old Movie Prop
Price: $210
Room: 2

Notes: One of the objects you unlock, this mask looks great when combined with
a Persian rug .

"Bi-Polar" by Conner I.N
Price: $240
Room: 2

Notes: A nice looking painting for a reasonable price.

"Delusion de Grandeur"
Price: $360
Room: 2

Notes: The illusions of Grandeur. I wonder that this painter had in his head as
he/she painted this... A bit too expensive for 2 room.

Beaver Pelt Moosehead
Price: $450
Room: 2

Notes: I've always wanted a hunting trophy, so even at this insane price, I
like this object.

Floor Rug by Leopard Life
Price: $460
Room: 2

Notes: A nice rug to put next to the fire place. Just joking. Putting this next
to the fire almost ensures a burning house.

"Fountain of Tranquility"
Price: $700
Fun: 1
Room: 2

Notes: Great for outdoors, and for murdering your damn kids!!! Oh, sorry,
didn't mean that.

SimBad's Stuffed Marlin
Price: $777
Room: 3

Notes: Ever seen a Marlin? Well now you have. A nice looking trophy to put in
your living room.

"Hazard The Guess" by Connor Tiist
Price: $950
Room: 3

Another one of them "Paintworks" that have an insanely high price for
nothing... weak.

"Blind Date" by I. Roney
Price: $1,020
Room: 3

Notes: Lets see, if I can choose between a couple of balloons for $50 and this
what would I choose?

"Scylla and Charybdis"
Price: $1,450
Room: 4

Notes: A quite extravagant looking sculpture that's supposed to come from
Greece.

Head in Jar Curio
Price: $1,470
Room: 4

Notes: Now that's a good thing to have around in a house. Put it in the
children's room for some high pitched shrills of horror! (joy for the ears)
(I made this up, but it would be fun if it really happened, don't you think :)

Highbrau Coat of Arms
Price: $1,800
Room: 4

Notes: I bet these old swords were owned by some Knight of the medieval time!

Snails With Icicles in Nose
Price: $2,140
Room: 5

Notes: A real strange title for a painting which costs so many simoleons... IF
You like snails with icicles in nose, and have money, then buy it.

Portrait Grid by Payne A. Pitcher
Price: $3,200
Room: 8

Notes: One of the best ways to make an ugly looking room to seventh heaven for
your sims. Now you only need a couple of thousand bucks...

Grandfather Clock
Price: $3,500
Room: 7

Notes: A rich sim's must. This stylish grandfather clock makes an excellent
investment for every house.

Blue China Vase
Price: $4,260
Room: 7

Notes: A beautiful hand-made porcelain vase, supposedly previously owned by a
rich Asian bureaucrat.

Feaux Bearskin Rug
Price: $4,300
Room: 7

Notes: A rare bearskin rug which can make a great improvement to your trophy
room.

White Rhino Re-enactment
Price:$4,800
Room: 7

Notes: Are you an environment killer? Show it off with this limited edition
real rhino head trophy. Although the white rhinos face extinction, hunters
still hunt these rare animals for money. Shame on you!

"Still Life, Drapery and Crumbs"
Price: $7,600
Room: 9

Notes: The ultimate room enhancer, only for sims which are willing to dig very
deep in the purse for a painting.

"Eruprion of Decadence" Tapestry
Price: $8,100
Room: 9

Notes: Another great piece of art, this painting was painted only for the rich.

Antique Persian Rug
Price: $8,200
Room: 7

Notes: Sweet, just sweet. If you have the money, buy this. This piece of silk
was made from nomadic tribes more than 300 years ago. One of the best looking
things in the game. (and a mere $8,200 :) )

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

15.4 Electric

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

FireBrand Smoke Detector
Price: $50

Notes: A must in every kitchen, this detector activates from smoke and calls
the fire department automatically.

SCTC Cordless Wall Phone
Price: $75

Notes: Well, it's a phone, and every sim needs a phone so...

Urchineer Train Set by Rip Co
Price: $80
Fun: 2

Notes: Great fun for all children but it takes waaay too much place.

Monochrome TV
Price: $85
Fun: 2

Notes: Only for the desperately poor sims... this black/white TV is the
cheapest entertainment there is.

"Down Wit Dat" Boombox
Price: $100
Fun: 2

Notes: A cheap radio for listening music in the kitchen or while taking a leak.
Never put a radio in the same room you sleep in, believe me!

SimSafety IV Burglar Alarm
Price: $250

Notes: This alarm calls the police for you if a burglar tries to break in.
Sometimes the police give you money for a caught criminal, so put one of these
wherever an entrance is.

Electronic Insect Control System
Price: $300

Notes: This is a very handy thing to have around, since it can replenish your
energy bar reasonably faster than by sleeping.

Trottco 27' Color Television B94U
Price: $500
Fun: 4

Notes: A good TV at an affordable Price. I bet you have one at home too.

Zimantz Component Hi-Fi Stereo
Price: $650
Fun: 3

Notes: It's a good thing your sims dont live in a flat, because if they did,
they would of been many complaints about loud music. A good Hi-Fi for every
house.

OCD Systems SimRailRoad Town
Price: $955
Fun: 4
Room: 3

Notes: Great fun for the whole family. Not at all cheap, but still very good.

Moneywell Computer
Price: $999
Study
Fun: 3

Notes: The kind of computer I'm using to type this text: Cheap but very
efficient.

Wurl 'N' Hurl Retro Jukebox
Price: $1,199
Fun: 3
Room: 2

Notes: A jukebox promises a lot. For this price, not really the best of things
to buy.

Price: $1,800
Fun: 5

Notes: I've always wanted a pinball machine... sob. sob.. now I can buy myself
one after all. sob..

Microscotch Covetta Q628-1500JA
Price: $1,800
Study
Fun: 5

Notes: Ha ha ha, great name. Well anyway, one of the best ways for children to
study, fun for parents and children equally!

SSRI Virtual Reality Set
Price: $2,300
Fun: 7

Notes: The best object, in my opinion, for filling up the fun bar. These
goggles are a must in every household.

Stringe Theory Stereo
Price: $2,550
Fun: 5
Room: 3

Notes: Great for wild parties with lots of guests and crazy dancing,

Soma Plasma TV
Price: $3,500
Fun: 6
Room: 2

Notes: The best TV in the game, every sim wishes to have one of these in
his/her room. The high price is worth it.

Meet Marco
Price: $6,500
Study
Fun: 9

Notes: The ultimate machine, only the richest of sims can buy this computer.
Excellent for studying and even better for filling the fun bar.

15.5 Appliances

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Mr. Regular-Joe Coffee
Price: $85
Energy: 1

Notes: Chap inefficient energy at its best. Really useless if I think about it.

Brand Name Toaster Oven
Price: $100
Hunger: 1

Notes: I'm not sure if you really need this, but i can come along just fine
with an oven, a microwave and a mixer.

XLR8R Food Processor
Price: $220
Hunger: 2

Notes: A must for cooking a good dinner.

Positive Potential Microwave
Price: $250
Hunger: 2

Notes: When you cook a dinner, you either use the microwave, or the food
processor. I think the game decides that if you own both.

Wild Bill THX-451 Barbecue
Price: $350
Hunger: 4

Notes: Needs to be placed outside, your sim needs 2 meals to fulfill his hunger.

Junk Jenie Trash Compactor
Price: $375

Notes: That's where all your rubbish (as you Americans would say, garbage)
goes. Good for every kitchen.

Dialectric Free Standing Range
Price: $400
Hunger: 5

Notes: Cheap but effective. This oven is good enough for almost every sim's
needs.

Gagmia Simore Espresso Machine
Price: $450
Energy: 2
Fun: 1

Notes: A better coffee machine, but still not a good way to get fast energy.
Stick to the bug zapper.

Dish Duster Deluxe
Price: $550

Notes: Makes your sim's (maid's) life a lot easier. A must in every house!

Llamark Refrigirator
Price: $600
Hunger: 6

Notes: Well, its better than searching through the dustbins for food, i guess,
but come on! You can do better that THAT!

Fuzzy Logic Dishwasher
Price: $950

Notes: Absolutely no reason to pick this dishwasher over the other, if you
don't care about looks.

The "Pyrotorre" Gas Range
Price: $1,000
Hunger: 7

Notes: Meals fill your sims more when they're prepared on this stove... why is
beyond me.

Porcina Refrigirator Model Plg-S
Price: $1,200
Hunger: 7

Notes: A neat little fridge, but the tip of the iceberg is still to come...
*For its price, better than the..

Freeze Secret Refrigerator
Price: $2,500
Hunger: 8

Notes: The "best" fridge in the game. One meal is enough to fill even the
hungriest of stomachs. A little too expensive for most, but if you have the
cash, buy it. (you wont be disappointed)

15.6 Plumbing

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Hydronomic Kitchen Sink
Price: $250
Hygiene: 2

Notes: A simple kitchen sink for washing dishes and dirty little hands.
Requires a counter to be installed.

Hygeia-O-Matic Toilet
Price: $300
Bladder: 8

Notes: Your sims need it to pee! (surprised you, didn't I) less comfortable
than a grave, though...

"Andersonville" Pedestal Sink
Price: $400
Hygiene: 2

Notes: Usually found in the bathroom with a mirror on top. Nothing special
about it, really.

Epikouros Kitchen Sink
Price: $500
Hygiene: 3

Notes: The cheaper dishwasher has nearly the same price, and doesn't require a
counter to be installed, so I would say this sink is a waste of money.

SpaceMister Shower
Price: $650
Hygiene: 6

Notes: It's a pity the programmers don't show any nudity. :) Not that I enjoy
looking at badly shaped edgy boobs but anyway... The only shower children can
use, so it's a must in every (child infested) house.

Justa Bathtub
Price: $800
Comfort: 3
Hygiene: 6

Notes: Crappy, slow and not really all that hygienic. I guess i prefer showers.

Flush Force 5 XLT
Price: $1,200
Comfort: 4
Bladder: 8

Notes: Well, it flushes alone and it's pretty comfy... other than that, stick
to the other (much cheaper) one.

Sani-Queen Bathtub
Price: $1,500
Comfort: 5
Hygiene: 8

Notes: Look @ the other bathtub.

Hydrothera Bathtub
Price: $3,200
Comfort: 8
Hygiene: 10

Notes: If you insist on having a bath, (for bathing in) then this is the one
for you. The only problem with this tub is the long bathing time, which all
baths have.

Sonic Shower
Price: $3,999
Comfort: 8
Hygiene: 10

Notes: This is the ultimate item of the game, for me. Short showering time and
extremely high comfort makes this a must, no, a must must in every household.
The only bad thing is that it gets dirty every now and then, but cleaning it
takes exactly 3 seconds (real time)

WhirlWizard Hot Tub
Price: $6,500
Comfort: 6
Hygiene: 2
Fun: 2

Notes: Pretty weak marks for such a high price, but this is the only bath tub
which lets 4 sims use it simultaneously, thus raising their social bars very
fast.

Libidinex Spa System
Price: $10,000
Comfort: 5
Hygiene: 2
Fun: 3

Notes: 3 reasons which should stop you from buying this:
1. Look at the price.
2. Look at what it gives (comfort, Hygiene...)
3. (the most important one) You can have sex here. Sex isn't bad, but you do it
without protection... And children are just annoying... (half of the things in
the game can't be used by children, they're useless, they breathe. :D)

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

15.7 Lighting

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Bottle Lamp
Price: $25

Notes: Beware when buying lamps. They take lots of your furnish meter away
(explained by the on/off animation).
With that said, I can go on. As for the lamp, not really useful because it
requires a table to stay.

Garden Lamp by Lunatech
Price: $50

Notes: A must if you go to work at night, since you lose lots of your room bar
on the way to the car which is waiting if you walk in the dark and that can
affect your overall mood bar and make the difference between a promotion and...
no promotion.

Halogen Heaven Lamp by Contempto
Price: $50

Notes: Put lots of these around the house since they're cheap and able to stay
alone (without being put on a table/counter/...)

Oval Glass Sconce
Price: $85

Notes: Another good lamp if you don't have space for ^ (look up) on the floor
and if you prefer the design. A little more expensive though.

Top Brass Sconce
Price: $110

Notes: In my opinion, uglier than the Oval Glass Sconce and more expensive.

Blue Plate Special Sconce
Price: $135

Notes: Blue light anyone?

Elite Reflections Chrome lamp
Price: $180

Notes: Not my favorite lamp... what can I say... I don't like this type of
lamps.

Torchosteronne Table Lamp
Price: $200
Room: 1

Notes: I prefer the next one more.

Torchosteronne Floor Lamp
Price: $350
Room: 1

Notes: A couple of these can be very useful for your sim's room bar. A high
price makes its rival (Halogen Heaven Lamp) better though.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

15.8 Miscellaneous

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Trash Can
Price: $30

Notes: It's good to have one of these in every room, since your sims sometimes
take their snacks to the most unusual of places... (believe me, I've had sims
eating a snack in the bathroom...)

SnoozMore Alarm Clock
Price: $80

Notes: This clock wakes your sim(s) up before work (school). I advise you to
wake your sims manually, since there is not nearly enough time to raise all (or
at least most) bars in 2 hours.

Magical Mystery Toy Box
Price: $50
Fun: 2

Notes: Cheap fun for your kids at its best! Children still prefer TV though...
(I wander why..)

Happy Thunder Neoscillating Sprinkler
Price: $65
Fun: 2

Notes: If I remember correctly, an item that you unlock in get a life mode.
Watering the plants has never been easier than now.

Narcisco Wall Mirror
Price: $100
Charisma

Notes: Your sims must be vampires, since they have absolutely no reflection...

Slurp 'N' Burp Beverage Cooler
Price: $100
Comfort: 3

Notes: Does more good as a chair than as a beverage cooler...

Medicine Cabinet
Price: $125
Charisma
Hygiene: 1

Notes: The only way to brush your teeth in the game, which doesn't do much
really...

Narcisco Floor Mirror
Price: $150
Charisma

Notes: A foot to head tall mirror. I don't know if charisma is raised faster
with this mirror, but I don't think so.

Will Lloyd Wright Doll House
Price: $180
Fun 2

Notes: It does the same as the mystery toy box, but is more expensive. Useless.
(except that its funny watching kids play with it.)

Cheap Pine Bookcase
Price: $250
Cooking
Tech
Study

Notes: Bookcases are useful things to have around, even if on uses them once in
a century... (at least, I do, hehehe)

"Dimanche" Folding Easel
Price: $250
Creative
Fun: 2

Notes: A great way to make money if your sim has a high creativity. When your
sim finishes a painting, you can sell it for money.

Pingulcher Dresser
Price: $250

Notes: The cheapest way to be able to change your sim's clothes, which you
won't get to do very often. Not much, really.

Kinderstuff Dresser
Price: $300

Notes: It's a dresser for children. Nothing more.

Chuck Matewell Chess Set
Price: $500
Logic
Fun: 2

Notes: One of 2 ways to raise your logic skill. 2 sims can use it at a time.

Artists Block
Price: $500
Creative
Fun: 2

Notes: Another great way to make money. At maxed out creativity level you can
sell a finished sculpture for a lot of cash.

Amishim Bookcase
Price: $500
Cooking
Mech
Study

Notes: Same as the other bookcase, except better looking.

Traditional Oak Armoire
Price: $550
Room: 1

Notes: The only reason to have this and not the cheaper Dresser is the +1 room.

Beejaphone Guitar
Price: $580
Creative
Fun: 2

Notes: Entertain your friends with a little music! (at your own risk) A good
way to earn creativity, if you play in front of other people without a high
creative skill, it affects your relationship with him/her badly.

Strip Poker Table
Price: $600
Fun: 4

Notes: A good way to entertain yourself and a couple of friends. No peeking!

SuperDoop Basketball Hoop
Price: $650
Fun: 4

Notes: Shouldn't this raise your body skill as well? Well it doesn't, so this
is no good item for raising your fun bar.

"Experto" Benchpress Exercise Machine
Price: $700
Body

Notes: The treading mill is better for pumping up your muscles, but this works
too.

KraftKing Woodworking Table
Price: $720
Mech

Notes: Give your sims one of these and watch them frolic happily around and saw
strange gnomes at their heart's contempt.

Benchman Wood Beverage Bar
Price: $800
Hunger: 1
Fun: 3
Room: 2

Notes: A great thing to have around for parties and long lonely nights after an
unsuccessful date. No driving afterwards!

Libri di Regina Bookcase
Price: $900
Cooking
Mech
Study

Notes: Takes a lot of place up, is expensive and smells bad. (don't ask me why)
Stick to the other ones.

Domestic Beach Simulator
Price: $1,000
Fun: 4

Notes: Those child psychologists can go to hell! I never had one of these and I
lead a happy life. The big men dressed in white took me away from home 5 years
ago, and now I lead a very fulfilling life in the psychiatry. (joke)

CharisMaster Vanity Table
Price: $1,000
Room: 1

Notes: I have never used this, but apparently it can change your face or
something. I'm not sure.

The Funinator Deluxe
Price: $1,200
Fun: 5

Notes: Why make children happy when you can leave them to starve in a corner
with no light?

PerspirAction Executive Treadmill
Price: $1,200
Body

Notes: Beware of putting it on too fast if you aren't trained because you might
fall off. This trains you faster then all the other things that raise the body
skill on the fastest speed.

Antique Armoire
Price: $1,200
Room: 2

Notes: The best way to change clothes. Very stylish looking Armoire with a
sleek Western-style design.

SweetsWay Tree Swing
Price: $1,200
Fun: 4

Notes: Comes with a handy tree. Looks good in every garden. Is expensive.

Horrowitz "Star-Track" Backyard Telescope
Price: $2,100
Logic
Fun: 4

Notes: Apparently you can get abducted by aliens if you look through the
telescope for a long time. You come back with your personality changed then.

Aromaster Whitepuff "Gold"
Price: $2,500

Notes: The Aromaster Whifferpuff Gold costs $2500 and is a very useful item,
even
though it breaks often and its the 2nd item a thief will go for its still a very
useful and helpful item for your Sims needs. It has four settings;

Peppermint and Juniper : Increases : Comfort
Lavender and Majoram : Increases : Fun
Juniper and Rosemary : Increases : Energy
Rosemary and Peppermint : Increases : Room

each setting you choose will increase each of the statuses, you can use multiple
Aromaster Whifferpuffers at time. The best way to use it is before you go to
sleep put it on the 2nd setting when you awake your Sim will be in a very good
mood, at least 3 green bars as he/she has a full energy bar and a full fun bar.

Teppan'Yaki Table
Price: $3,000
Hunger: 7
Fun: 1

Notes: Cooking and entertainment come together. A good way too make an
impressive dinner for your guests. (I think they'd enjoy pizza more :p )

Chimeway & Daughters Piano
Price: $3,500
Creative
Fun: 4
Room: 3

Notes: As with the guitar, don't try to entertain your guests without being
VERY good at playing the piano if you don't want them to hate you.

Aristoscratch Pool Table
Price: $4,200
Fun: 6

Notes: A pool table looks good in every house. The fact that you can play with
a friend makes it even better. Only if it wasn't so expensive...

And now.... the ultimate item....

Meet Major Domo!
Price: $15,000

Notes: Why is this so damn expensive, I hear you ask? Well it's worth it! This
strange looking tree house is the home of your very own butler! He cleans,
waters the plants and even repairs things for you. Have fun :)
(note that you need to call him from his tree to get him to slave for you)

Ahh, finally complete. It took me more than 3 days to complete, but now I'm
finished. I hope it helps you!

16.0 Bonus

*******************************************************************************

In this section I will try to cover all the glitches, easter eggs and ways to
kill your sims in the game. This section can never be complete without your
emails, so please do email me if you find something which isn't covered in the
guide, but is in the game.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

16.1 Glitches

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

1. The "Sell your wallpaper over and over" glitch.

Probably the most common of the glitches, this glitch allows you to sell your
wallpaper over and over again without actually having any, thus letting you
make good money.

EASY MONEY GLITCH:

a) Build a LONG wall from one end of your lot to the other.

b) Take the MOST expensive wallpaper and put it around BOTH sides of the wall.
(you can change which side you're painting by pressing L2/R2)

c) Now press [] on one end of the wall and DRAG to the other. ([] Sells)

d) IMEDIATELY after you release [] start tapping it as fast as you can. You
will now sell the wallpaper over and over again for every time you press []
even though there's no wallpaper to sell :-).

Note: This may not work from the first time, so try it a couple of times before
emailing me and saying that it doesn't work.

2. The "Sims have no reflection" glitch.

Not really worthy of being in this section, but it doesn't matter.
As the title says, your sims appear to have no reflection in the mirror when
they walk past it. All other objects don't get reflected as well.

3. The "Annoying guests" glitch.

I have read this on the gamefaqs.com board but it's never actually happened to
me, but I'm quite sure that it can happen.

Apparently what _CAN_ happen is, a after guest comes to visit your sim and goes
somewhere in your garden (in a corner, for example) and can't (or won't) go
away from there. He/she just stays there to die from old age. There is no way
to get him out of there for the whole game. Very strange.

*Update: Apparently it doesn't only happen outside, it happens inside as well.

4. The "Naked sims" glitch.

Ever wanted to see your sims naked, without that irritating fuzzy box
surrounding their privates? Well now you can.

a) Buy the Vibromatic Heart Bed and put it somewhere (preferably outside, where
there's lots of place)

b) Now Buy a rug (any rug) and put it under the bed.

c) Build a one slotted wall (you need it for the fire place that you're gonna
put there)

d) Buy a fire place and put it next to the carpet (rug)

e) Light it

f) Now make your sim lie in the vibromatic and put it on "vibrate"

Now a fire will brake out and (hopefully) your sim will stay in bed until its
caught fire as well. If the trick works (it doesn't always) your sim should pop
up on the side of the bed but still be naked! (for the uneducated few of you,
the vibromatic beds are used for more pleasure in bed.)

5. The "sim stays frozen" glitch.

This is a very annoying glitch, and what's even more annoying is that you can
lose your job because of it!

Apparently if you make your sim use an object (it happens a lot with the
basketball hoop) your sim can freeze in place and just stay there. Now don't
panic if this happens to you, it can be fixed.

Fix 1. Reset your console (not much of a fix, really, but if you have just
saved, this is the faster way.)

Fix 2. Let your sim stay there untill he/she falls asleep. After they have
awoken you have full control over them.

6. The "super fast clothes changing" glitch.

This glitch can be very useful, actually. When your sim changes clothes (when
showering, for example) press the L1 button to freeze the game. The clock stops
but your sim still changes his/her clothes.

Neat :)

7. The "Sonic Shower" glitch.

When you use the Sonic Shower, the game seems to freeze for a second and the
walls reappear. Nothing special.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

16.2 Easter Eggs

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

There aren't many of these in the game, but I'll try to cover all of them.

1. Get abducted by aliens.

If you use the telescope 3 nights one after another, a spaceship will come from
somewhere and take your sim away. Some time after that your sim will return
with changed personality.

2. The "Grim Reaper"

If your Sim dies the Grim Reaper will arrive, if there's another Sim in the
house then that Sim can 'plea' with the Grim Reaper to try and spare the dead
Sims life. They will play a game of rock, paper, scissors if you win he will
spare there life, if you lose he may turn them into a zombie, let them die, or
feel sad for you and bring them back to life.

3.Ghosts

If a sim has died in your house, there is sometimes a ghost wandering around in
the house. The best time to see a ghost is 24:00 to 03:00

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

16.3 Ways to kill Your Sims

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

1. Burn'em!

The name says it all :). Basically all you need is a fire place, and something
flammable (like a carpet) to put next to it. Now make your sim light up a fire
and take all the doors away. All that's left is to sit back and enjoy the show!

2. Torture them

Personnally I prefer this one. It takes more time until the sim dies, but it's
worth it. Make a wall 1 by 1 with only one door. Make the (soon to be) doomed
sim walk inside. Now sell the door and watch as your sim starves to death.
(he/she can't sleep because they don't have any place to lie down.

3. Make a sim change s light bulb

If you make your sim change a lightbulb with no tech skill, he/she will
probably electrocute himself. What a funny way to die, while changing a light
bulb...

4. The swimming pool of doom

Get a child sim and make them get in a swimming pool. Then put tables all
the way around the edge of the pool so they can't get out. After about 4 days
of eternal swimming let them get out of the pool. If it is a child that you put
in, they will have a hyperactive fit and then collapse and die!

(another way to kill a sim is do the same, but don't let them go out. After
endless swimming he/she will eventually die.)

*******************************************************************************

17.0 Hints & Tips

*******************************************************************************

- Don't create a sim with too much neatness, since the maid does everything for
you anyway.

- Don't buy too many luxurious things in the beginning, since you'll probably
run out of money.

- Hire a maid as soon as you can! Cleaning the house takes precious time and
energy that you can use for other things.

- Never skip work twice in a row. You will get fired.

- When starting a new house, start alone until you're ready to have a family.
This helps with getting the needed items and money for supporting a family.

- If you need to build up your stats, skip work every second day. Don't worry,
you'll never get fired. Now you can use this extra day to pump up your stats
and get a promotion on the next day.

- Put the bathroom as close to the bedroom as possible. Make a door that joins
them together. This way your sim doesn't need to cross long distances before
going to work in the mourning.

- Dont waste any time. Pause a lot and think about your next move before
actually doing it. Also, pausing the game with the L1 button while your sim is
changing clothes is very helpful. Your sim keeps on changing his/her clothes
even though the clock is frozen.

- Buy a burglar alarm for every room with a door which leads outside. Although
you won't get robbed very often, you get $1000 for any robber caught and you
get all your items back.

- Buy a treadmill for pumping up your body. The bench press machine is cheaper,
but it takes a lot longer to get 1 body point with it.

- Never buy a swimming pool. It may look good in your garden, but it also eats
1/5 of your furniture meter!

- Get at least 2 cooking skills before making a meal. This reduces the chance
of a fire while cooking to nothing.

- You can make loads of money by working at home. There are 3 ways to do this:

1. KraftKing Wood Working table. At a high tech skill you can sell each gnome
for $100.

2. Artist's Block. A high creativity is needed for the best results.

3. Folding easel. Look ^

- Have lots of windows in your house, this makes the room bar go up while there
is daylight.

- Be careful of using some of the cheats and then saving, since this can lead
to a corruption of your saved game, or even your whole memory card.

- The levels in which you must throw a wild party aren't that hard. I admit it
doesn't always work from the first time, but eventually it will, so never give
up!

- The sims that you have just spoken to don't automatically count as friends.
You must first speak to them a bit and only when the message "you have just
made a new family friend" (or something like that) comes are they friends.

- Don't go and sell the game after you've finished the "get a life" mode. The
"play the sims" mode is just as fun as the GAL mode, even better.

*******************************************************************************

18.0 Questions & Answers

*******************************************************************************

Missing Work?
------------
You can miss one day off work and get away with a warning, if you miss the
second day you'll get fired. Note, in 'Get A Life' if you get fired its game
over but in 'Play The Sims' its ok it just means you'll have no income.

My Sims so Tired
----------------
Sleep is very important to your Sims otherwise they'll be falling asleep all
over the place there are two ways to keep your Sims happy with plenty of energy,
1.Go to bed every night or day (Depending on your job). This includes sleeping
on a couch or 2.Buy an espresso machine and drink the espresso the caffeine will
and add small amount of energy to your Sim. In the status box for your Sim sleep
is known as 'Energy'

Bug Zapper trick?
-----------------
Using the "bug zapper" for energy, Using the bug zapper (its big and green) You
can regain 9 hours sleep in under 2 hours! You must buy the zapper, switch it
on, and simply select "Touch" it shocks the sim, regaining their energy, while
depleting their comfort, Using a Aromaster Whifferpuffer on the top setting, and
a comfortable chair, you can regain the entire comfort bar in seconds.

My Sim won't do a thing there always depressed!
-----------------------------------------------
In the bottom left corner of the screen there'll be a picture of the Sim you're
controlling, under that there is a line if its in the green you're Sim is happy,
if in the red he/she is depressed meaning they won't do anything you want such
as study, or find a job. If its in the middle your Sim is OK. You can tell how
happy or sad your Sim is by the number or red or Green lines e.g. 4 lines your
Sim is very happy, and 3 red lines mean your Sim is very annoyed. The maximum is
4 bars.

Do you get Burglars?
--------------------
Yes burglars do rob you house so you need to take precautions, install a burglar
alarm they only cost $250 and if you place them at entrances to your house any
burglar entering your house will be arrested by the police. Burglary isn't all
bad if you get robbed and catch him you'll get a reward for the catching usually
$1000 and insurance on anything he steals which is plenty enough to buy back any
thing which has been taken by the police for evidence. Note you cannot I repeat
you cannot put an alarm in your house when a burglar arrives it prevents
cheating. The same goes for Fires no building or replacing/moving items when an
emergency takes place.

Can Fires start?
----------------
A Sim with no cooking skills will set the kitchen on fire, if you have an fire
alarm the firemen will be around right away. Like with Burglars you cannot move
furniture or build when there's an a emergency. The best thing to do is get your
Sim out of the room and let the fireman do it, you can and try and put it out
but if your Sim sets on fire he/she is dead! Another way Sims die by fire is by
having items in front of a fireplace, these will set on fire and the whole room
will go up along with your Sim. (It'll have a chain reaction with other items in
the room.)

Can I kill my Sim?
------------------
Yes Sims can die!!! Sims will die by the following reasons, neglect, Fire,
Drowning, electrocution and Building a wall around them. So if free will is on
don't worry about it, only you can choose if you want to kill your Sim. To burn
a Sim simply put objects in front of the fireplace, best to use a rug, tell your
Sim to light the fire then the rug will catch fire killing your Sim. If a Sim is
killed, a tombstone or urn will be left in place, which other Sims can mourn at,
this will make them depressed and they will cry not a good thing for there
status. Note, ghosts can be seen wandering the house at night if a Sim died
there, usually 11:00pm to 12:00pm is the best chance to see a ghost.

Electrocution
-------------
If your Sim washes their hands or has a shower and then tries to replace a
bulb,or fix anything electrical, they will get electrocuted, and in some cases
it may kill them.

The Grim Reaper!
----------------
If your Sim dies the Grim Reaper will arrive, if there's another Sim in the
house then that Sim can 'plea' with the Grim Reaper to try and spare the dead
Sims life. They will play a game of rock, paper, scissors if you win he will
spare there life, if you lose he may turn them into a zombie, let them die, or
feel sad for you and bring them back to life.

Zombies!
--------
If the Grim Reaper turns your Sim into a Zombie there are a few changes that
will happen, they can never die, and they will look greenish, apart from that
there just the same old Sim, they still can be controlled and still need the
same care as normal Sims. Note, they will not wake up at night and try to bite
you.

What's 'Free Will'?
-------------------
Free Will is simply if you leave your Sim with no commands he or her will go
about there business on there own, you can let them do what they want or cancel
what there doing by pressing triangle. If a Sim has a list of commands they must
complete these before Free Will kicks in.

Marriage?
---------
Yes they can get married. Simply get there relationship high anywhere between 80
to 100, get your partner in a good mood (food, tele, hot tub etc.) then pop the
question if they say no try again and try and do what they say e.g. "I cant
think on a empty stomach" so give them a meal.

I fed my chosen partner, talked to her, danced with her, I brought a hot tub
earlier for $6500 and we got in, when she got out I selected propose its usually
at the bottom of the menu and then she said yes! It costs $1000 for a wedding.

How do I get Promoted?
----------------------
To get promoted simply go to work in a good mood that's by having the mood meter
in the green 2 usually does it, and have the required skills and number of
friends needed for a promotion.

I have all the Skill why aren't I getting Promoted?
---------------------------------------------------
Check there are no more skills need leveling up and make sure you have the
required number of friends, this can be done by pressing left on the D-PAD to
show the job panel there it'll show what job you have and next to it a smiley
face with a number next to it e.g. 3/4 that means you have 3 friends out of the
4 required for a promotion so get another friend and this'll go up to 4/4
meaning promotion.

Where's the Life of Crime career?
---------------------------------
You need to catch a burglar in 'Get A Life' to unlock the Life Of Crime Career
for 'GAL' and 'Play The Sims' it doesn't count if you catch one in 'Play The
Sims' all you get is a reward.

Work from home?
---------------
You can by buying a KraftKing Woodworking Table it cost $750 and each gnome you
make can be sold. The higher your Mechanical Skill the quicker you can make them
and the more you get for each one. To sell one, go to buy mode, move the cursor
over the gnome and press Square. The most you can sell a Gnome is 100 Simoleons.
But bear in mind while making them your Sim will become tired and may be in a
bad mood after. I recommend getting to level 10 of your chosen career then
working from home this way you'll have a lot of money and your skills will be
high. You can earn a lot of money from this career if your Skills are high. You
can also work from home by making and selling statues.

How do I get abducted?
----------------------
Use a telescope to get abducted but it can have bad effects on your Sim there
stats will change e.g. a very tidy Sim could get abducted and return a very
messy Sim so use at your own risk. The plus side is while waiting to get
abducted your Sim will earn Logic Points.

How do I unlock character skins?
--------------------------------
Complete all of 'Get a Life' or whoever you make friends with (have more than 50
friendship points) you'll unlock their special clothes/hairdos. Or use cheats.

How do my Sims have a baby?
---------------------------
Your Sims can have a baby by selecting the 'play' option while either in a
vibromatic Heart Bed or the Libidenx Spa System some time after a baby will
arrive which you can name. The baby will grow into a child within 3 Sim days.
(Only a male and female Sim can have a child via this way.)

My baby was taken away!
-----------------------
If you don't look after a baby well or simply its your first time looking after
a baby and fail to do well, Social Services will take the baby away, even if you
1. try and build a wall around the Social Worker she will teleport away and 2.
building a wall around the baby wont work either, it'll again teleport away.
Also babies are fireproof.

What's the wall glitch?
-----------------------
More of a cheat really, make a wall as long as you can diagonally is best if
there's something in the way a regular straight wall will do, put the most
expensive wallpaper ("New Light" Wall treatment.) on both sides then go into buy
mode, highlight the wall and hit the sell button (square) and keep pressing it
really quickly. If you've done it right the wall won't disappear and you're
money will go up with each press of the square button.

Why can't I put any more furniture in my house?
-----------------------------------------------
Press start to go into the main menu, on the right there is a house symbol and a
bar (like a thermometer) once this fills up you can not buy anymore furniture
(due to memory). Hint: if it is at full don't worry say you have a normal cheap
item save your money up and buy a better quality item, not only does this allow
you to buy the better items but these better items improve your Sims stats more
than cheap average items. I'd also rather have a house full of top quality items
rather than hundreds of rubbish items.

How can I see all my friends I've ever met?
-------------------------------------------
Go into the friendship bar then press the right analogue stick right, it'll show
all the people you have ever interacted with. By pressing X you can get some
info about them.

The wallpaper is on the wrong side of the wall!
-----------------------------------------------
When applying wallpaper or wall treatment by pressing R2 it will swap the side
of the wall that it can go on.

How to get the best out the 'Aromaster Whifferpuff Gold'
-------------------------------------------------------
The Aromaster Whifferpuff Gold costs $2500 and is a very useful item, even
though it breaks often and its the 2nd item a thief will go for its still a very
useful and helpful item for your Sims needs. It has four settings;

Peppermint and Juniper : Increases : Comfort
Lavender and Majoram : Increases : Fun
Juniper and Rosemary : Increases : Energy
Rosemary and Peppermint : Increases : Room

each setting you choose will increase each of the statuses, you can use multiple
Aromaster Whifferpuffers at a time. The best way to use it is before you go to
sleep put it on the 2nd setting when you awake your Sim will be in a very good
mood, at least 3 green bars as he/she has a full energy bar and a full fun bar.

Alarm Clock
-----------
A very basic a simple item, but its very useful, buy an alarm clock from the
miscellaneous section of the buy mode and you wont regret it. Set the alarm
before you go to sleep and it will go off before the carpool arrives, giving you
plenty of time to eat, pee, and wash.

Accidents
---------
"Just in case you wanted to know, sometimes when getting home from work, it
may have a random message saying that you had a random accident and lost some
random skill points."

E.g. "You fell off the trampoline in training. Minus 1 body point"

Finally, the guide is complete. It took me a whole year to compose (with a long
pause) but it was worth it. I hope this Guide has helped you and even maybe
inspired you to make your own.
