MELEE FAQ

Stealth Kill
===============================================================================
Stealth kills are easy to do, but are extremely satidfying for some reason.
What you do, is go up behind an enemy, and press the R trigger. If you are
unarmed, you will snap theit neck. If you have a shiv, you'll slice their
throat. If you have a club, you'll bash them over the head. You can use the L
trigger for this as well. The R trigger is faster, but also louder, than using
the L trigger.

Right-Left Combo
===============================================================================
If you are in close combat with an enemy, wait for a good opening, when they
are not attacking. Press Right+R and then immediately press Left+R before the
attackends. If you time it correctly, Riddick will do the second attack much
faster than he usually does.

Down-Up Combo
===============================================================================
This is similair to the Right-Left combo, you just obviously do different
attacks. Riddick will do the second one, whether it be the elbow strike, or the
downward bash, faster than he usually does. This does not work for the Shivs,
however, as the up and down attacks are the same.

Counter Attack
===============================================================================
Move in close on an aremd enemy, so that you're right in front of them. Wait
for them to attack, and as just as they do, press the L trigger. You'll counter
them, and kill them instantly. If they have a gun, you'll grab it, and push it
to their head, shooting them. If they are unarmed, or have a shiv, you'll push
it to the side, and slash their neck open.

Hide Bodies
===============================================================================
After you kill someone, press the left thumbstick inward, to crouch down next
to them. While like this, look at their hands, and hold the X button. Riddick
will pick them up. Drag them into the darkness, where other people can't see
them, and you'll be able to avoid drawing attention to yourself.

|====+ 03. Ring Fighting Tips +====|

Being as you can't use guns in the ring - Actually, you won't even have access
to the guns when you're in the ring - you'll have to make due with either your
fists or your melee weapons. Since it consists of Melee Fights, and this is a
FAQ on all things melee, I'll give you some tips on defeating the opponents
that you will see there; That's 5 in total.
Harman is the first, and easiest fight. He'll be unarmed, so you don't need
anything before fighting. Just keep you're guard up, with the L trigger, and
wait for him to punch you. When he does, take your finger off the L trigger,
and give him a down-up combo using your fists. After that, move around him a
bit, and wait for him to attack again. Once again. block and combo him. A few
of these, and he'll go down, granting you the win.
This is another easy fight. Baasim isn't armed. So, just do what you did with
Harman. Block, down-up/right-left combo, move. Rinse and repeat, and Baasim
will die quickly. However, he is stronger than Harman. You may want a shiv,
but you shouldn't need it just yet. I'd reccomend just duking it out with fists.
Unlike Baasim, Sawtooth has a Shiv. So, you'll want one as well. you have two
options, buy one from Monster in the Dining Ward, or buy a better one from
Cricket in the Recreation Area, for 30. After that, you can start the fight.
What you'll want to do in this fight, is keep your guard up, and try to
counter a few of Sawtooth's attacks. Try to circle him, and give him a slash
or two whenever you can. You can also knock him back with a stab, if you want.
Soon, he'll die.
Cusa is the strongest person yet. Use the Shiv once again, and try to play the
blocking game. Whenever you block one of his attacks, give him a combo, and
move to the left or right. If you're fast enough, you don't even have to wait,
just move and slash him. Soon enough, number four should go down as well.
Bam comes equipped with a spiked knuckleduster, and is easily the toughest
fighter that you'll see in the ring. He'll come at you from the start, so have
your Shiv ready, and stab him when he approaches. After that, you should switch
to being evasive, as opposed to defensive or offensive. Don't try to block his
attacks. Instead, keep moving in a circle around him. Whenever he's not face-
to-face with you, slash him, move back a little, and begin circling again.
When he goes down, you're the new champion of the ring!

Knuckledusters
===============================================================================
Knuckledusters are metal converings to put over your knuckles, obviously
increasing the damage that you can do with your punches. The controls are the
same as the fists. This is the first type of weapon you'll get in the game, so
they are useful, but switch them off for a type of Shiv, as soon as you can.

First Found: On Molina in Block A in cell 38.
Commonly Found: Various prisoners.

Description: This is the first type of Knuckleduster that you'll find.
It isn't great, but it's better than your fists. This one
looks like a block of metal with finger holes in it.

Type: Knuckle Duster
First Found: On prisoners in Aquilla Territory
Commonly Found: Various prisoners.

Description: This is the second type of Knuckleduster that you'll find.
It isn't great, but it's better than your fists. This one
is rounded to fit your fingers better than the squared
version of it.

Type: Knuckle Duster
First Found: Bam in the fight ring.

Description: This is the final, and strongest knuckleduster you'll find
in the game. It's metal like a plain knuckleduster, but it's
black, and has spikes coming out of it. As you can guess,
the spikes add quite a sting to the punches you throw.

Shivs
===============================================================================
Shivs are like knives. In this game, the definition is expanded to anything
you can get your hands on that can be used to stab somebody with. Shivs aren't
the strongest weapons in the game, but when you consider their speed, it
becomes clear that they are the best melee weapons.

of the other models. It's definitely worth the buy, if you
have the UDs to pay for it. This is the Shiv shown on the
box of the game, and is likely the best one you'll find.

Description: You'll find this when you're om the Infirmary, so don't pass
up on the chance to get it. It's a surgeon's tool, so you
can picture what it looks like, but it works great in a
fight. This is the second best shiv that you'll be able to
find.

Description: This is just the average scewdriver that you'd expect to see
in your tool chest. However, anything can be used as a
weapon, if you're Riddick. I'd reccomend avoiding this one
unless you don't have any other shivs.

Clubs

You can imagine what clubs are - Big heavy objects you hit people with. There
are several different kinds in this game. All of them are very powerful in
strength, but are too slow to be useful against most enemies - Particularly
the ones with guns.
