3. Game Modes
-----------------------------------------------------------------
These are the different game modes in Test Drive off Road and a
description of each.
3.1 - Single Race
Single Race is a series of 27 races. You start out with
three races available on each track. After finishing a
set of three races more races will become available,
along with a new class of vehicles. Completing all 27
races on the hard difficulty gets you more than just
bragging rights...
3.2 - Career Race
This game mode puts you in the position of an off road
racer, racing through his career. You start out with
$30,000 to buy a truck. There are 5 seasons, each with
its own divisions. As you move along you will unlock
secret vehicles and new classes of vehicles.
3.3 - Free Roam
A very fun thing to do. Just pick a course and a truck and
just drive around with no limits. It's a good idea to do
this when you first pick up the game and when you get some
new trucks. If you're ever bored of racing and just want
to drive, come here.
3.4 - Multiplayer
Go grab a friend and drive around wherever you want. The
only multiplayer mode is in Free Roam. Very fun when you're
bored of racing and playing by yourself.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
4. Types of Races
-----------------------------------------------------------------
These are the different types of races in this game and what they
are like.
4.1 - Circuit Race
The classic two or three lap races through different
tracks. Make sure you pass through the checkpoints or
you'll have to turn around and lose your precious first
place position. An easy type of race. Not too much
trouble, just get used to the track on your first lap,
then you can worry about your position.
4.2 - Blitz Races
It's a mad dash for the finish line! Race through all the
checkpoints before time runs out. That's the objective.
These races can get confusing, but just follow the map
and you'll be fine. Good Luck.
4.3 - Scramble Races
In my opinion, THE WORST type of race in the game. You
have to collect a certain amount of checkpoints before
anyone else, in any order. Sounds pretty easy, right?
WRONG! These races can get VERY annoying. Try playing a
little follow the leader....
-----------------------------------------------------------------
5. Tracks
-----------------------------------------------------------------
These are the different areas where you will be racing on.
5.1 - Moab
The desert track. There are LOTS of jumps in this area which can
help you cut off time and get ahead of your opponents. I suggest taking
it slow around some corners especially the one towards the middle-end
of the track because its high up and if you fall it will set you way
back.
5.2 - Yosemite
The forest area. Good traction is what you need here. Be careful
around turns or you will most likely fall back in position and will
lose valuable time. BE CAREFUL!
5.3 - Hawaii
The sandy beaches and blue waterfalls. I would suggest a more
powerful truck for this track because there are steep hills to climb.
There are some tight spots throughout the course where everyone will be
pushing you so make sure you have good traction. Also good handling is
a must because of the steep incline that goes to the beach.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
6. Vehicles
-----------------------------------------------------------------
***********NOTE - I have gotten a very large amount of e-mails
concerning the Blue Moon Cafe signs and the moon buggy. They do not
exist in this version. They can be found ONLY IN THE XBOX
VERSION.************

tear up the track.

10. Hints and Tips
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Here's some tips to help you make your way through the game.
* In career mode don't spend your money as soon as you make it.
You may want it later.
* During Scramble races see who comes in first. Try again and
follow that person. Pass him off on the final stretch. This
should get you gold.
* In a circuit race, use the first lap to get used to the course.
Then on the second lap start to pass off everyone.
* Use the Free Roam to get used to new cars and the controls.
* Speed vehicles often perform best on flat land or a downhill.
