Luke O'Mac here welcoming y'all to his first Rollercoaster Tycoon FAQ. Now, I
been working on this for a long time, and has taken up a lot of precious RCT
building and watching time, so you better be happy with my FAQ! Thanks.
Now I'm gonna keep going with this FAQ until I think it really kicks ass! Keep
returning once you've already read the FAQ because I'll update it soon. Thanks
again.
Can I please note that I may not be updating this really quickly update after
update due to my schoolwork and interest in other games! Sorry, but I will try
to update it as much as possible. Sorry about no updates for a while! But now
it's the summer holidays, so expect loads!
Luke O'Mac
*VERY IMPORTANT NOTE* For some reason, my Microsoft Word won't do a Pound
Sterling sign , the shift logo on the 3 key. Because of this, all pound sterling
logos will appear as this - o Sorry if this confuses anyone, but I'm trying to
sort it out ASAP!

Here is the list of every scenario on the game, except the real parks and that
extra 'Fort Anchronism'
PS. There's a bit of a problem here, I can only put in the scenarios I have
completed myself, so if anyone could contribute to the scenarios with no info,
that would be a massive help. Check out `Contacting Luke O'Mac' for more info.

ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON (ORIGINAL)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
--------------------------------
Forest Frontiers
Difficulty: 0/10
Objective: Get at least:
250 guests by October Year 1, with a Park Rating of 600
Strategy
Very easy to complete, because the guests will enter quickly if you got a few
good rides. You have until October Year 1, so that's a good factor due to the
objective being short. A good starter for beginners.
--------------------------------
Leafy Lake
Difficulty: 1/10
Objective: Get at least:
500 guests by October, Year 3, with a Park Rating of 600
Strategy
Leafy Lake is another easy park, but the problem is that you have to wait so
damn long to complete it! You should get the guests easily if you build a
rollercoaster in the middle of the lake, and rides around it. Try and build as
many rides as possible on the water, because their excitement rating will
increase, therefore more guests will ride on them.
--------------------------------
Dynamite Dunes
Difficulty: 3/10
Objective: Get at least:
650 guests by October, Year 3, with a Park rating of 600
Strategy
This is a cool desert park that has a massive mine roller coaster already built
at the back. You have plenty of space to build more coasters, more rides and a
lot of shops. Again, it takes a long time to complete, so you need to be
patient. Getting guests is easier when you build at least another rollercoaster,
or two, for more attractions the guests will be attracted by.
--------------------------------
Diamond Heights
Difficulty: 6/10
Objective: By October, Year 3, get a Park Value of o20,000
Strategy
Of course, this park has pretty much been already built, so you've just got to
build more rides and keep up the parks reputation. You've plenty of space on the
water to build rides, so there's some good land to build.
--------------------------------
Evergreen Gardens
Difficulty: 8/10
Objective: Get at least:
1000 guests by October, Year 4, with a Park Rating of 600
Strategy
Evergreen Gardens is a hard park to complete in my opinion. Why? Because of the
fact that there are so many plants, and tress, and there's not much space for
you to build your rides. If you do it, well done, because this park is solid!
--------------------------------
Bumbly Beach
Difficulty: 6/10
Objective: Get at least:
750 guests by October, Year 2, with a Park Rating of 600
Strategy
Bumbly Beach is pretty much like a mini-Blackpool Pleasure beach. You start off
with a rollercoaster, and a few little rides, but you need to build up, and its
pretty easy to build up your park with all the space you have. Another good
rollercoaster will come in well, a lot of thrill rides as well and remember to
get lots of shops!
--------------------------------
Trinity Islands
Dificulty: 7/10
Objective: Get at least:
750 guests by October, Year 3, with a Park Rating of 600
Strategy
This scenario is separated really into a few islands to build your park on, and
that's a pretty tough task to overcome. There is literally no space to build
rides on water, except for the boat hire, or a rollercoaster passing from one
island to another, so don't expect to get loads of rides on water.

ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON ADDED ATTRACTIONS SCENARIOS
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
--------------------------------
Whispering Cliffs
Difficulty: 7/10
Objective: Get a park value of at least o17,000 by October, Year 3
Strategy
This cliffside area is a cool challenge because of the small space you have to
build your park in. You are allowed to build on the sand/water below the cliffs
though, but there's not much space there either. Building a coaster is again a
hard task due to the small area, but the guests find it handy to have a
chairlift from one side of the park, to the entrance, to the other side.
--------------------------------
Three Monkeys Park
Difficulty: 6/10
Objective: Get at least:
1400 guests by October, Year 3 with a Park Rating of 600
Strategy
Another park with a main ride already built. The main ride is a rollercoaster/s,
with 3 rollercoaster adjacent to each other. There is plenty of grass to build
rides and shops, so this scenario isn't too hard to accomplish. A good fun
scenario to do.
--------------------------------
Canary Mines
Difficulty: 8/10
Objective: Get at least:
1300 guests by October, Year 3, with a Park Rating of 600
Strategy
This level is a real annoying scenario. You should notice straight away that
everything is pretty much set underground. There is land to build on top, but
it's all ragged and steep. It is a solid scenario in my opinion, one of the
hardest probably.
--------------------------------
Barony Bridge
Difficulty: 6/10
Objective: Get at least:
1200 guests by October, Year 3, with a Park Rating of 600
Strategy
Another water-based scenario. This is pretty fun to do, because there is
suprisingly a lot of space to build rides, and you do get more guests than you
think for a bridge! Of course, you are gonna need to build extra paths because
one stretch of path is pretty dumb for a park! Building a rollercoaster each
side is a good tactic and plenty of smaller rides will have their excitement
increased because of the fact they're on water, so good pointers there too.
--------------------------------
Funtopia
Difficulty: 4/10
Objective: Get at least:
1400 guests by October, Year 3, with a Park Rating of 600
Strategy
OK, a Theme Park going over a motorway? Hah, it's true, and this scenario is
suprisingly easy to do. There is already a megacoaster going across the roads,
so just simply build up from that with a rollercoaster or two and trhill rides,
etc. Pretty easy, and for some reason it seems easy to get money on this
scenario than any other (!)
--------------------------------
Haunted Harbour
Difficulty: 6/10
Objective: Get at least:
1200 guests by October, Year 3, with a Park Rating of 600
Strategy
This is a small area for a park, and you'll see that there is already a
rollercoaster and some small rides already built on the path. A Good idea is to
start building onto the sand, and if you've got enough room, build a new
rollercoaster. But it'll need to be small!
--------------------------------
Fun Fortress
Difficulty: 6/10
Objective: Get at least:
1300 guests by October, Year 3, with a Park rating of 600
Strategy
This scenario includes building a park, on rough areas, inside the perimeters of
a fortress? Whatever next? If you notice, there is a spinning ride inside the
main fortress part, so no need to worry about building in there. Just build on
the grassy areas around it. Make sure your guests don't get lost on that path
surrounding the park!

ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON LOOPY LANDSCAPES SCENARIOS
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
--------------------------------
Iceberg Islands
Difficulty: 6/10
Objective: Get at least:
1250 guests by October, Year 3, with a Park Rating of 600
Strategy
The idea of this level is to build a park on icy waters and on icy islands. It's
a good challenge and you'll need patience for this because Guests seem to come
slowly, and some of the rides seem ok, not great. But you do have an underground
Rollercoaster, and that helps a lot.
--------------------------------
Volcania
Difficulty: 8/10
Objective: Finish the 5 coasters, all must have an Excitement rating of
at least 6.70
Strategy
One of the rollercoaster challenges, you have to finish off the uncompleted
rollercoasters, and let me guarantee you this, this scenario will pi$$ you off a
lot. You'll end up building a coaster, but find out it's excitement is too low!
This is a hard scenario, and will take a while to complete, unless you are a
master at building exciting rollercoasters!
--------------------------------
Arid Heights
Difficulty: 4/10
Objective: Get at least 2000 guests, but don't let your rating drop below 700!
Strategy
THERE NO MONEY FOR THIS SCENARIO! EVERYTHINGS FREE! Yep, it's true, no money!
Everything is free to build, use, delete, etc. But you need 2000 guests, and you
must NOT let your rating drop below 700! This task isn't too hard to do, but if
you get a crash, like I did a few times, then watch out, your rating will drop
guaranteed. If you do drop below 700, you will have 3 - 4 weeks to regain a
rating over 700, so remember that.
--------------------------------
Razor Rocks
Difficulty: 8/10
Objective: Build 10 rollercoasters, each with an excitement rating of at least
6.00
Strategy
Another tough Coaster-Building challenge that requires prefect building and good
determination, because I got tantrums a lot trying to do this challenge, it's a
real pain in the ass! It's a lot like that other challenge in this section, but
more coasters and a smaller rating. If you done the other challenge, you'll pass
this scenario easily.
--------------------------------
Crater Lake
Difficulty: 4/10
Objective: Get at least:
1300 guests by October, Year 3, with a Park Rating of 600
Strategy
Nice and easy, the idea is to build a park in a crater full of, yep you guessed
it, water! Again, this isn't a hard scenario, guests come quickly, you get a lot
of money, there's a nice big area to build in, and you get a lot of good rides
to use. You should pass it easy!
--------------------------------
Vertigo Views
Difficulty: 6/10
Objective: Produce a monthly income from Ride Tickets of o8,000
Strategy
First thing you'll notice in this park is the massive supercoaster that seems to
go on for years! Vertigo Views isn't too hard to do, and to build more rides
just delete some of the annoying trees! You get a pretty big space to build in
so don't worry about that.
--------------------------------
Paradise Pier 2
Difficulty: 6/10
Objective: Get at least:
1200 guests by October, Year 2, with a Park Rating of 600
Strategy
Another water based park, and another scenario that isn't too hard to complete.
Most of the park is pretty much done, so just improve it with Rollercoasters,
Thrill Rides, a charlift or monorail around the park is cool, so just do things
like them and you should complete it!
--------------------------------
Dragons Cove
Difficulty: 7/10
Objective: Finish building the 5 rollercoaster at the end of the park, all must
have an excitement rating of at least 6.00, I think.
Strategy
Finish the Rollercoasters. Done. Yeah? As if! Again, like those other two
scenarios, complete the unfinished rollercoasters and get a specified rating. I
find this park so much easier than the others, I just don't know why, but trust
me, it is. You'll find the rollercoasters at the top of the park.

II. PLEASING YOUR GUESTS
_________________________
------------------
I. RIDES
------------------
You can't have a park without having good rides. So good rides must be built to
make sure your guests are happy. On each ride are three different factors -
Excitement, Intensity and Nausea. Each of these ratings are important to your
ride, so you must be careful of them. For a successful ride, here's the average
ratings you should be accomplishing:
Intensity rating: 7.90 (High)
Excitement rating: 8.50 (High)
Nausea rating: 7.00 (Average)
These are the average ratings you should get for a successful ride, well a
successful rollercoaster really. It doesn't matter on the smaller rides because
they have a set rating for all three, so it's near impossible to change them.
Anyway, with rollercoaster coasters, guests will NOT go on a rollercoaster with
and intensity rating of over 12.00 because it's classed as a `Very Intense' ride
and guests will be too scared of it, so watch out for that.
-----------------
II. Shops
-----------------
Your park will need shops definitely. With no shops, then guests will complain
that they are hungry, or thirsty, or that they need to go to the toilet. If you
still won't build anything for them, then they'll leave, simple as that. So
remember to do what they say.
Place your shops in good positions. For example, information kiosks are vital in
a park, so my tip is to place 2 at the entrance, one either site. Remember, they
can buy for the kiosk from all 4 sides, so that's important for business. A good
idea is to place a food, drink and toilet stall at each point in the park, i.e.
put one of each on the left hand side of the park, one of each on the right,
etc. It works perfectly, and keeps the guests happy.

III. FINANCES
_______________
-----------------
1. Bank Loans
-----------------
When you start a scenario, usually the default amount of money you start with is
o10,000 (Except for Arid Heights). Now, this money is OK to start off building
your rides and what not, but you may find that it may not be enough. So...Why
don't you get a bank loan? Simple. But the problem is that each level gives out
a certain amount, some give out a lot, but some give out, well, bull really.
Oh, in case you don't know about how to access bank loans, then go on the money
icon on the blue menu, I think, on at the bottom of the screen that has popped
up is an amount of money with and up and down arrow on the right of it. Just
keep increasing this until the bank refuses to give you more.
-----------------
2. Promoting Your Park
-----------------
By using the finance menu on Rollercoaster Tycoon, you can attract more guests
to your park quite easily. On the finances menu, there are a few icons on the
top, and the final icon on the right is the Advertisements menu. This list
includes such options as:
* Advertise Park for 2 - 6 Weeks
* Advertise Ride for 2 - 6 weeks
* Free Park Entry Tickets available from 2 - 6 weeks
* Free Ride Entry Tickets available from 2 - 6 weeks
* Half Price Park Entry Tickets available from 2 - 6 weeks
* Free Food Type Tickets available from 2 - 6 weeks
Now underneath is a handy tip that tells you about attracting people, but I
won't go into too much detail about that. Anyway, you will of course need money
to start these promotions, and yes, you will lose about o1,000+ of your money,
but don't worry, I guarantee you it will come rolling back ever so quickly.

/ / / / / __/ \__ \
/_____/ /___/ /__/ /_____/
Here is a selection of tips that I, or my mates or anybody off the message
boards, you know, anyone who has told me any good tips for Rollercoaster Tycoon.
Well, guess what? There are quite a lot of tips, and here is the section
dedicated to it! As you can see, I have now separated the tips into different
sections to provide easier access to the tips. Easy, huh?
-----------------
Building Tips
-----------------
Thanks to AxBattler for this info:
"If done right you can get excitement ratings of very high easily - what you
want is a reverse incline coaster - it can be made from different types of
coasters each with their own attributes - if memory serves me right - steel,
standing and corkscrew can all be used
All you do is build a station platform, then at the rear end of it build sloped
track with the chain - this pulls the train up backwards - when it gets to the
top of the track it gets dropped! After the drop you can build whatever you like
- loop, helix, underground section, corkscrews make it as long and winding as
possible - at the end just do an upward section so the train travels up and
gravity sends it back through the course (you have to test to make sure you got
it right) - reverse incline needs to be selected from the ride menu.
Because you don't need to come back to the starting point these are very easy to
build and save money on track - they are always very popular with guests - I
always have several in my parks"
This is a good tip that I have tried personally, and it true, it's popular with
the guests!
Also, try this, a tip that I found myself:
' When building a rollercoaster, always have parts of the coaster going up, not
just down. Why? Because the rides will be too intense, and the little people
will refuse to go on it because they'll be too scared!'
Another tip to get exciting rides:
` If you want exciting rides, then remember - building rides on water I
GUARANTEE will increase your excitement rating. Also, try building
rollercoasters OVER smaller rides - this will also increase the excitement.'
-----------------
II. Money Tips
-----------------
Here's a good tip I found:
` If you desperately need guests, and you are quite low on money, then go on you
finances, go on the promotions tab, and do these steps - Promote the park for 4
weeks, promote your best ride for 4 weeks, and give away free food tickets for 4
weeks - you should start getting way more guests that you did originally.'
Again, this is a handy tip:
` You may find that guests will complain that your entrance tickets are cheap
(!!!) Now I have found that, this is my opinion though, that once you have built
about 5 - 6 rides, including a coaster, then the best price to have will be
about 25 -> 30 pounds. As you keep increasing your parks size and value, then
you'll need to keep increasing the price, so remember that'
This is a funny tip for the good players:
` If you are just about to complete a scenario, then build loads of information
kiosks and balloon stalls. Why? Because when you complete the scenario, all the
guests clap you to congratulate you.and they will let go of their balloons! Now,
because of that, they will have to buy them again! Haha, this is a real bobby
dazzler of a tip!'
-----------------
III. Guests Tips
-----------------
Another handy hint here:
` Guests may think that rides start to age and get boring so to keep up the hype
and popularity of a ride, just click on it and change its colours! The guests
will think it's a different ride and will find it great again!'
Colours can affect the guests happiness, as this tip says:
` Never use Orange and Green together for a ride as the guests may think that
the colours are just disgusting together!'
I've got plenty more tips coming your way ASAP!
-----------------
IV. Park Value
-----------------
I've been plagued with emails asking me about the park value, and how to rise
it, as some scenarios ask you to do. I agree with all of the questions I've had,
it can be an incredibly hard task. But don't worry, just follow my steps to
success and you should be fine.

- Popularity with Guests will atrract more money, hence bigger value.
- Build a high standard of rides (i.e. Making sure they don't break down much)
- Keep the park clean.
- Good scenery (Flowers, trees)
- Quite a high Entrance fee (Guests wil complain (?) when prices are low)
- Advertisements and Offers (On Finances)
You may need a bit of money for this, so don't be afraid to get out those loans.
It's better to loan when accomplishing Park Value because yoyu will get the
money back if you know what to do.

V. Misc Problems
-----------------
Now recently, I have been receiving many emails asking to solve problems that
you peeps can't seem to overcome. I've got no problem with you emailing me, so
if you have a problem, just email me today!
a. Buying Land
To make your park bigger, you will of course need to buy land to provide more
space. Quite a few people have emailed me asking about how to buy land, and this
explanation should help you.
First, open the blue menu and look for the logo that looks like the entrance.
This is the park menu. Down the side are the various options to choose. They are
Change name of Park, Sell Land, Close Park, and finally, Buy Land. If you click
on the buy land, you should notice that squares around the park area that you
own will appear. Some squares will have little white signs in them. These
squares are the area of land that you can buy

Cheats
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Here are the cheats for Rollercoaster Tycoon. I am sorry if they don't work, but
I can't get them to work myself! Thanks to GameWinners.com.
INCREASE GUEST HAPPINESS
Click on any guest, and enter their name as Melanie Warn. By doing this, they
will become instantly happy. You can do this cheat with different cases, i.e. in
capitals or small. It works when typed like MeLANie WARn or MelaNIE warN, and
loads of other ways like that. By doing more than one of this cheat, then your
park rating will go up, as more people are happy.
FASTER GO-KARTERS
If you have a go-kart track present in your park, change somebody's name in the
queue to Damon Hill. They will easily win the race as they will be incredibly
fast. The only way they can lose if you change somebody elses name to Michael
Schumacher. This name creates an even fater driver!
SLOW GO-KARTER
Same as the cheat above, but opposite. Just enter somebody's name as Mr Bean.
ARTIST
To get a guest/s that, for some unknown and freaky reason, paint a picture in
the middle of a theme park, then change a guest's name to Simon Foster.
PHOTOGRAPHER
To make a guest take a photo, change its name to Chris Sawyer. Say Cheese!
GUESTS THAT WAVE AT YOU
Again, like the artist cheat, if yoyu want a guest to wave at you for no
apparent reason, then simply change it's name to Katie Brayshaw. Hi Sue!
HUNGRY GUESTS
To make a guest hungry, then change his name to Tony Day. A good money cheat is
to make high prices for burgers, etc, and do loads of gguests with this name,
but in different cases (Tony day, TONy Day, ToNy DaY, etc.)
WOW!
If you want to get thrills over a pixel in a game in a shape of a person
thinking WOW! Then simply change the guests name to John wardley. Wow! BIG
DEAL! Still, at least these cheats work.
If you do know of any other cheats that actually work, please email me. AND DO
NOT EMAIL ME THE E=MC CHEAT AS THAT DOES NOT WORK. All cheats that I know do not
work shall be dismissed instantly. Thank you.

Here are the questions that get asked a lot for Rollercoaster Tycoon, and here
are the definite answers:
1. What exactly is on RollerCoaster Tycoon on the Xbox?
A. RCT on the Xbox is simply the original on the PC plus the two expansion
packs, Loopy Landscapes and Added Attractions, also on the PC
2. Is there anything new?
A. I'm not sure about this, but I don't think there is. Oh wait, there is one
thing new. You can now zoom in with a magnifier to see all your people eating
and puking up lol!
3. Can you put in your own music for the rides?
A. Sadly, no. I tried and I've tried but there just isn't a way to put in your
own music for the rides. Which is very disappointing seeing as you can record
your music to the hard drive.
4. Can you save your own rides again?
A. Yes you can, and you can save absolutely hundreds this time due to the
incredible hard drive. It's much easier.
5. What's better - the PC Version of the Xbox version?
A. This is an extremely hard question to answer due to both versions being very
similar. The Xbox version is just a bit better though in my personal opinion,
but everyone has their own opinion.
6. What's this I've been hearing about a new layout?
A. Ah, yes, the new blue and red layouts. If you press B, then the red layout
appears, with things like Ride Construction, Paths, etc. But by pressing the X
button, the Blue layout appears with the things like Finances, Park info, Guests
Info, Ride Info, etc. People say that it's very confusing, and, yes, it is for
about the first hour you play. But let me guarantee you that after about 2
hours, a day maybe, it's easy to use.
7. How do you buy land/raise park value?
A. Please direct yourselves to the Tips section for more information. CLEAN UP
ON AISLE 6!
8. Any chance of RCT2 on the Xbox?
A. Hopefully, but with 3D graphics. That would be simply amazing. Plus RCT 2
shgpould be mixed with Shenmue III for the ultimate experience. Aaaah, an
uncharacteristic Japanese guy in a Theme Park!
