Right Thumbstick: Moving Scoobee
Left Thumbstick: Targeting Enemys
D-Pad: Select View
Right Trigger: Right Arm Weapon
Left Trigger: Left Arm Weapon
B Button: Right Shoulder Weapon
Y Button: Left Shoulder Weapon
A Button: Jump/Confirm Selections
B Button: Engage Optic Camouflage

III. Game Modes
-Quest Mode-
In this mode you follow the storyline where you are in Old Tokyo 2031
battling others. Select Quest Mode and New Game to begin a New Game
or select Load Game to load a previously saved game.
-Vs Mode-
Here you can play against your friends with a possibility of up to 4
people. You can use your saved Scoobees from the Quest Mode in the
Vs Mode.
-Options-
You can change the game settings here. You can change:
-Vibrations: Turn controller vibration on/off
-Sound Configuration: Change the background music and
sound effects
-Key Configuration: Change the button configurations
on the controller
-Default: Returns all options to default settings
-Exit: Go back to main screen

IV. Town Map
=-=Garage=-=
Here you can monitor and record Scoobee information. This is where
you do everything for the main quest. You can change equipment
(guns, armor, o.c., color, stickers, etc)
Hanger=Where you change and install parts.
-Ride On: Board Scoobee
-Trial: Test our your Scoobee on the practice stage
-SV Specifications: Shows current specifications
of the Scoobee. 2 Pages
-Assemble: Switch modules, dismantle the Scoobee
and change various items
-Cancel: Exit the menu
Select Music=You can pick music to hear while
Rumbling. More songs can be purchased at Sonic Amp
-Program Edit: Pick and choose the order of songs
-Program Set: When finished choosing program
number select the songs and Press A to input
the song
-Play Mode: Play the music you want when Rumbling
-Program Name: Name your current program
Stock Module = Shows your current modules owned.
Next Day = Progress to the next day
System = Allows you to save your current game, load a
previous game, keep sv for Vs Mode and options
Exit = Return to Town Map
=-=Club Wired=-=
Provides information for rumbling, meeting other Wire Heads.
If you visit often you'll meet various people.
-Rumbling- Enter into a match. Choose area and confirm
drop location.
-Training- Pepper will give you a tutorial
-Record- View battle records such as kills, longest
battle, highest winnings, return rate percentage ect
-Schedule- Check Rumbling schedules at locations
-Name Entry- Here you can change your registered name
-Exit- Return to Town Map
=-=Wild Machines=-=
You can buy used items. Also a place to sell your unwanted
equipment for some spare new yen. They sell chips, modules,
and some Scoobees here.
-Buy Module- Buy used modules. (Weapons, armor, O.C.,
color schemes, stickers, ect.)
-Buy Chip- Here you can purchase various animal chips
with various ablities and upgrade ablility
-Buy SV- Purchase various Scoobees
-Sell Module- Sell your unwanted unneeded modules
-Sell Chip- Sell your unwanted unneeded chip
-Exit- Return to Town Map
=-=Plus Tech=-=
Here you can upgrade all of your modules and improve the performance
of your chip. Beware though that most of this stuff is extremely
expensive.
-Customize- Here you can change your weapons weight, power,
and ammo count. Note you can't change it seprately.
-Uplift- This is where you improve the performance of your chip

XII. My Review of Phantom Crash
The year is 2031 the place is Tokyo, Japan. After massive air pollution
problems in Tokyo it is set as the new site for an extreme sport called
Rumbling. In the Neglected Areas of Japan people battle to the end to win
New Yen a new kind money used in the game and widely throughout the world.
You enter into Rumbling as a newbie to become an Area Ranker or top of all
the Wire Heads. This game is one of my favorites. You start off building your
Scoobee (AKA Mech) from scratch. You can choose from 3 makes of Scoobees or
you can purchase the parts separately and piece them together. There are tons
of customization features and loads of different combinations for your Scoobee.
Controls 9
The controls in the game are simple enough to learn. The left analog stick
controls your movement and the right analog stick controls your target. You
can have up to 4 weapons on your Scoobee which are fired at will by the
Left and Right shoulder buttons and X and Y buttons. The A button is used
for jumping. Personally I feel that your jumping maneuverability is terrible
and is hard to move where you want to go. You can even turn invisible at will
by buying a few upgrades and pressing the B button.
Gameplay 9
There is so much to do in this game besides actually rumbling. There are only
3 areas to play in with night and day variations. But there is much more than
just Rumbling you can customize your Scoobee heavily which can go on for hours
and hours as long as you have the money. Going through all of the customization
options takes time and getting your Scoobee set up to your own personal favorite
will take some time.
Graphics 10
Everything in the game is detailed extremely and looks great. You can find a
couple problems with this and that but nothing major. Sometimes under heavy
attack by about 3 other Scoobees you can find some slowdown and if you stand in
some places the camera will start to jerk slightly. The explosions in the game
look good as well as the lighting effects and the slight view of invisible
Scoobees kicking up dust.
Sound/Music 10
The music in this game can only be compared to the music in the Jet Set Radio
series. It is some of the best-unknown stuff you’ll ever hear. I presume that
the music comes from Japan although I really have no idea. Also if you have
the money you can purchase albums to listen to in the game. You can even
arrange your own personal music play list in the order that you want. The
explosions and sounds of your Scoobee doing natural stuff sounds great and
sounds just how you’d think it should.
Replayablity 9
You can play multi-player with up to 4 people, which keeps the game fun. I
have put many hours into this game about 25 and I’am not completely done with
it yet. For me this game is extremely addictive because it has everything that
I like in a great game with great music, mechs, and the anime type style. If
you like that sort of stuff this game is definitely for you.
Overall 8
This is a great game for the Xbox with an anime type feel to it. There are
tons of customization options to do and the multi-player will keep you busy
for a long time with a couple of friends. My only major complaint in the game
is the large amount of seemingly useless conversations. Anyway with a little
trick that is told in the instruction manual you can scream right past them.

thats what i give you. If you are running low on cash and need some money
but aren't prepared enough to fight heres a tip to get money fast. Simply
go into battle into either of the three arenas and destroy obstacles!
Sounds silly? Try it! Depending on what level enemies you are with in the
arena the more money you get such as:
100 to 1,000NY for D Rank opponents and 1,000 to 110,000NY for Master!!

the maze in there too!

There are even more ways to make easy money. All you need to do is purchase a
Laser Weapon for your Scoobee and head out to a Class D matchup. You can
easily defeat Class D contenders with a Laser to rack up insane amounts of
cash.

For an easy and FREE 1000NY each day all you have to do is go to the Town Map
screen and spin the right control stick in circles to get 1000NY free.

To skip the long and boring conversations that you've been through before
simply pull in on both shoulder buttons and click both of the control sticks
to skip the entire conversation. Extremely helpful if you didn't read the
manual.

On Day 55 in Shibuya you can play a game with only Drones. You can make
millions upon millions of dollars here and you can never die. It's easy money
if you camp out at the drop locations to fill up your ammo, energy, and give
you some extra cash.

You can kill the yellow dropships in any of the three main arenas (haven't
tried it in multiplayer) for 10,000 NY each. It seems like you have to be
fairly close to them for the hits to count. I tried various weapons on my
Holy and they all seem to work. Lasers and machineguns seem to work the best.
Heavy cannons and missiles work as well but you have to be very precise and
get a direct hit.
There are several good spots to wait for a good shot. In Shinjuku I jumped
to the top of the "Ponasoaic" building. A dropship hovers right next to the
building to make its drop (easy pickens). All of the dropships pass directly
over this building on their way to any of the three drop zones. You can earn
a lot of money fairly quickly by sniping them as they fly over. A new dropship
will come out almost immediately after the previous one is destroyed. Just
be cautious while you're up there. Someone jumped up there with me while I
wasn't looking and tried to knock me off the top.
You can also jump onto the back of the dropship that hovers next to this
building and ride it when it flies off. You may be able to use a melee weapon
on it while on its back but I haven't tried it.
In Shibuya you can pretty much hit the dropship from anywhere on the surface
of the arena as it crosses throught he invisible barrier that surrounds the
arena. If you time your shot right the dropship will fall down the hole all
the way to the bottom. You can jump on its back and ride it all the way down.
Hitting the dropships in this arena is the most dangerous as you leave
yourself wide open. I recommend scanning the field frequently for opponents
while you wait.
In Aqua Line there are several good spots to snipe the dropships. One place
is to jump to the roofs above Gate 2. This is probably the easiest spot as
the dropship hovers very close and you can use the video screen above the
gate as a shield while you wait. Another good spot is on the rooftops that
overlook the drop zone near Gate 1. This spot is more dangerous as you're
more open to attack. The third place is on the rooftops in the center of
the arena close to the edge on the side furthest from the moored ship. You
can hit the dropships from here as they pass over for more frequent kills.
They're hardest to hit here so I'd go with a weapon that fires rapidly like
a laser or machinegun.
I haven't had any success bringing down one of the huge gray ships yet. You
may be able to hit it while riding on the back of the dropships in Shinjuku
as they pass fairly close to it but I haven't tried this yet.

A tip on using a controller with Phantom Crash. First, use a controller Type
S (which one ought to have anyway, unless one _prefers_ to use a big 'ol
black frisbee for a controller). Use the thumbs on the analog sticks and
trigger the left arm weapon with the left index finger. Lay the right index
finger curled on its side over the B and Y buttons to trigger the shoulder
weapons and use the right middle finger to trigger the right arm weapon. Not
too uncomfortable, and you can exercise full movement, strafing, and free
look while getting off all four weapons at once, plus hitting the jump and
optical camouflage when necessary with the tip of the right index finger.
Give it a try. Your enemies won't thank you.

FOR NEWBIE RUMBLERS

In the beginning of the game, speed is much more important than weight
capacity. Particularly when you're inexperienced in combat and don't have a
fully customized Scoobee. Some words of advice that even experienced
rumblers should take to heart: it is far better to flee to fight another day
than to incur a lot of expensive repairs.
Hmmmm... This begs for a mini-FAQ on Scoobee upgrades e.g. Which parts to
upgrade first, and how to avoid wasting one's hard-earned New Yen.

INFINTE NEW YEN FOR THE PATIENT RUMBLER

The 1,000NY-a-day trick on the town map can be exploited for infinite income
without advancing the calendar. All you have to do is:
1) Go to the town map and circle Club Wired for your 1,000NY.
2) Return to Garage->.System and save the game.
3) Go to .Next Day to set off the 'alarm clock.'
4) Immediately go back to .System and load the game you just saved.
5) Return to Club Wired for another 1,000NY.
6) Go back to step 2) and repeat ad nauseum.
It seems that the 'alarm clock' resets the free New Yen counter, and the
game doesn't seem to care if this happens before or after one saves a
game... You can rack up infinite New Yen on a single calendar day, but at
only 1000NY a pop, it seems to take a helluva long time. Especially when a
good player can average around 3,000,000NY per hour on a drone hunt, or on a
C or D class rumble in Shibuya with lots of obstacle destruction. This trick
is handy if you're just a little short on a module or upgrade, and you don't
want waste a calendar day just for the cash.
As far as I know, there is no penalty for using this trick other than the
fact that the game logs the total number of saves in your Garage->.Records.
But if you have some time to waste and no pride, go for it.

There are days when Atsurou sells better-than-average used SVs. You can tell
a decent SV apart from the standard fare by its name -- designated by
TODAY(HL, AR or PH) or OK(HL, AR, or PH) rather than the usually craptacular
(HL, AR, or PH)PARTS and NOSURE(HL, AR, or PH) series.
The TODAY** series is Atsurou's top-of-the-line. These SVs usually feature
customized Modules, special Color jobs, full rare-type weapons load outs,
animal-type Chips rather than electrons, and some OCG Options, all at great
(for what you're getting) prices.
The OK** series is decent, but not as good as the TODAYs. It has customized
Modules, special Color jobs, and decent selections of standard- to rare-type
weapons at high--but not exorbitant--prices.
The **PARTS series is a mixed bag. It sometimes features highly customized
Modules, occasional special Color jobs, and occasional customized weapons at
(usually) exorbitant prices for the good stuff.
My advice is don't bother with the NOSURE** series. It just blows
nano-chunks. Once in a very great while, you might find something worth the
effort, but the occurrences are rare enough to just say no.
The following is a list of days that Wild Machines offers solid buys (for a
'clear' saved game that is the second time through the 60 day cycle).

Now, onto the best stuff of all.
You know those weird Scoobees that are piloted by Area Rankers and
high-level Rumble opponents that don't seem to be on sale anywhere? Well,
after 'beating' the game by defeating Tokyo First Ranker Yuki/Mona Lisa and
Kudryavka on any First Ranker Day, you can save a 'clear' game in the Quest
Mode. At this point, Wild Machines starts selling used Scoobees from special
manufacturers on certain days. These days tend to fall on prime numbers, but
this rule isn't wholly consistent. (I'm only three Rumbles short of a 100%
complete game and I'm crossing my fingers--but not holding my breath--that
the prime numbered days which don't feature a special manufacturer might
hold something even better for the completist.)
These special SVs are superb weapons platforms, even in their base
(uncustomized) configurations. There are three special manufacturers that
each offer their own SV, and each simply rocks. Every one of these beauties
comes with a standard weight capacity of 20.000 t and six slots. Also, their
weapons load outs are outstanding. They all come fully outfitted with unique
arm and back weapons, and higher animal-type, rather than the standard
animal or electron chips.
A couple caveats to these sweet machines:
Strangely, you cannot customize their colors, though you can apply stickers.
Also, you'll want to buy two of each, so you can mix and match their weapons
and mess with their upgrades. Wild Arms doesn't sell individual modules from
these manufacturers, so your only source of spare parts is buying another
whole SV and stripping it down for the goodies.
My personal favorite is the Charga, 'cause it looks so old-school with its
rounded contours and porthole optical lens. Plus, it is downright zippy, and
has the most versatile weapons load out. It is even the only SV to feature
its own musical theme: Voice of Elements - FORCE OF JUNGLE CHARGA-TYPE MIX.

In my opinion, the Charga has the overall potential to be the best SV in the
game. It has the best speed to weight capacity ratio, and lots of slots on
which to hang all of your Options, both useful and useless. A fully-loaded
Charga with a Level 99 Chip is a fearsome thing to behold. All four weapons
do great damage up close and at a range, and the projectile weapons all have
generous ammo capacities. HEAVY up the CG Wide-shot to inspire unhealthy
amounts of evil laughter. The only drawback is a relatively slow recharge
rate on the laser cannon, but by the time you start to notice, everyone
around you will already be dead and burning.

Like all of the Special Manufacturer's Scoobees, the Tolomeo TR-T3-4 is a
great machine. It's zippy enough, and somewhat resembles an SV version of a
yellow Nissan XTERRA -- with a roof-mounted 12.7mm anti-aircraft turret
machine gun. The stock Tolomeo arm laser is quite nice, with good power and
recharge rates. However, in terms of versatility, its standard weapons load
out comes up shortest out of the three. In particular, the shotgun seems to
fall under the utility of a melee, rather than a projectile weapon. At any
distance short of 'seeing the whites of their optical lenses,' the shotgun
is kind of useless. Up close, however, each pull of the trigger will net you
between 320-4480 damage. The shoulder-mounted cannon also fires too slowly
to draw a bead on fast moving targets. My advice is to swap the cannon out
for a second TL6-way Missile, and to HEAVY up everything to improve your
damage. Then it's whuppins all around for the big banana.

The shady labcoats over at Tolomeo did a nice job on the TR-R-45. The R Type
has a powerful build, and just looks plain mean with its fire engine red
chassis and its indigo slitted optical lenses. It is, however, the slowest
of the three heavy hitters -- its top speed of 95.212 km/h feels positively
pokey next to the Charga's 120.937 km/h. But I have three words to say:
Gatling, gatling, gatling. A HEAVY 99 Lv. TR30mm Gatling will chew anything
into little itty bits. Plus, let's not forget that patented Tolomeo arm
laser. Good stuff, that. And although slow, the TR105mmS Cannon is a truly
thing to behold when it connects. At NORMAL 0 Lv., each shell rips for 3200
damage with generous amounts of splash -- not unlike dropping a swimming
pool full of boiling vomit on top of your foes. Fun.
