1.0 Introduction
Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 & 2 was released for both the Gamecube and
Xbox. The information within this guide can also pertain to some of the
Holidays for the Blue Burst PC Version, but is not a definitive guide for
that version.
2.0 The PSO Holidays
Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 & 2 celebrated 5 major annual holidays.
There are special changes to the online game happen around the time of the
following holidays. Usually these changes lasted about 2 weeks and very
often the changes happened in the weeks before the holiday and end shortly
after the holiday ended.
Halloween - October 31st
Christmas - December 25th
Valentine's Day - February 14
White Day - March 14 (Japanese Holiday, Boy Themed Valentine's)
Easter - Floating Holiday (The first Sunday after Passover begins)
*Passover is a Jewish holiday and is based off of a different calendar then
the one that is used for normal purposes, so I can't give you an exact date.
It's usually in April.
3.0 Halloween
Halloween is by far the most eventful holiday in the game. There was a
special quest in which one could participate AND you could go hunting for a
special Rappy. This section will feature the following.
--- Special Quest Walk-Through
--- Hallo Rappy Details
--- The Jack O Lantern Items
Quest: Pioneer Halloween
Description: "Find "Cake," the legendary candy! The Naura Sisters may have
some, somewhere on Gal Da Val Island..."
Client: Young woman
Reward ???
The idea of this quest is to find the cake that the Cake Sister's are baking.
These are the same sisters as in one of the offline quests for Episode 1.
This quest occurs in both regions of the Jungle. As a sub-plot you can go
and look for all the hiding Hallo Rappy. The Hallo Rappy will give you a
special cake if you can find all the hiding Rappy!
By completing this quest, you will receive a special cake item. Your cake
was based on the Serial Number in 2003 and the ID number in 2002. You
receive more cakes depending on how large your team is. You get 2 cakes for
yourself and one more for each member of your team. All of the cakes that
you receive are identical but members of your team may receive different
cakes. If you have 8 different cakes, you can trade it for a Jack O Lantern
Item!
---Hallo Rappy
Hallo Rappy is a rare but interesting Rappy. It looks like it is wearing a
cloak but has a Jack O Lantern for its head. During Halloween, they replace
the Love Rappy in the Temple.
---The Jack O Lantern
The Jack O Lantern is the item dropped by almost all Hallo Rappy (95% of the
time, I believe). You can also get one from the quests, Pioneer Halloween
and the Version 1.1 Bonus Quest.
To use the Jack O Lantern, there are no requirements. Inside is one of 8
random items. If you are after a particular item, then you should quit the
online game and try offline. The following are the Jack O Lantern items.
Offline you can keep on soft resetting until you get the item you want.
