--INTRODUCTION--
This FAQ will cover the completely overlooked facet of the Panzer Dragoon Orta
contained within the Box portion of the game.  Whenever you completely unlock
Pandora's Box, you are given a selection of 7 different mounts upon which to
ride and attempt to complete the game (or various levels).  You are given
complete control over both the mount and the rider, although it appears that
the Riders are purely cosmetic aside from the option of choosing "Dragon Only."

--CONVENTIONS--
This section will cover the various conventions and ratings that will be seen
throughout the guide for statistical purposes.

RATINGS
-------
The ratings for the various attributes will be derived from attacks on basic
and boss level creatures and the mount itself.

1. Constitution - The Constitution rating is how much damage the mount can
survive before dying.  The Constitution ratings are as follows:

Frail - This mount is EXTREMELY frail and can only survive being hit by one or
two attacks or collisions.
Low - This mount can be killed with one attack from a boss level creature.
Normal - This mount is as hardy as the Dragon and Orta at Level 3.
Durable - This mount has much more health than the Dragon and Orta at Level 3.
Hardened - This mount is extremely resilient to damage.

2. Effectiveness - The Effectiveness rating is determined by the mount's combat
abilities in regards to Orta and the Dragon at Level 3 of the forms.
Otherwise, most mounts would be listed as Harmless given the Dragon's abilities
at the end of the game.

The Effectiveness ratings are as follows:

Questionable - This mount poses no advantage to Orta or the Dragon whatsoever.
This mount will provide the most challenge in defeating the game.
Normal - This mount is comparable to Orta and the Dragon.
Formidable - This mount excels beyond the capabilities of Orta and the Dragon.
Deadly - This mount kicks ass.

3. Agility - The mount's defensive maneuvering abilities are described by the
Agility Attribute.  This rating will also show whether or not the mount can
boost or slow.  The Agility ratings are as follows:

Plodding - The mount's maneuvering capabilities are not strong.
Normal - The mount moves normally.
Nimble - The mount can fly with extreme dexterity.

4. Mount Weapon Power: - The power of a single shot of the Mount's Weapon.
This needs to be factored with both the Mount's STT and Lockons.
Weak - It takes a massive 32 shots to kill a Pussa Bubo.
Normal - It takes 18 shots to kill a Pussa Bubo.
Formidable - It only takes 10 shots to kill a Pussa Bubo.
Deadly - It only takes 4 shots to kill a Pussa Bubo.

5. Size - The mount's size is described by the Size Attribute.

Small - This form is the same size or smaller than the Glide Wing.
Normal - This form is the same size as the Base Wing.
Large - This form is the same size as the Heavy Wing.
Huge - This form is larger than the Heavy Wing.

--MOUNTS--
The Box Game section of Panzer Dragoon is pretty much the most comprehensive
level select that I've ever seen.  You can customize almost every aspect of
the Level here, and one of the most intricate is the amount of differentiation
between the mounts in the game.  They are all totally different as far as
model, animation and capabilities.  This should extend the life of your game
appreciably.

STANDARD FORMS
--------------
You can choose to go through the box mode with the Dragon's standard three
forms available to you.  Additionally, you can choose to hardcode the Forms
at a certain level or allow them to grow naturally just like in the standard
game.

1. Base Wing - Base Wing is the Dragon's standard form and is balanced in all
attributes of agility, constitution and effectiveness.

Name: Base Wing
Class: Pure-Type, Standard Form
Description:
Constitution: Normal
Effectiveness: Normal
Agility: Normal
Rider Weapon: Ancient's Gun
Mount Weapon: Blue Light Arrows.  Increase in luminosity, dependent upon level.
Mount Power: Dependent upon level.
Mount Lockons: Dependent upon level.
Mount STT: Fast
Berserk: Large storm of Light Arrows.  Strength, Number and Duration dependent
upon level.
Berserk Recharge: Dependent upon level.
Glide: 2
Glide Recharge: Dependent upon level.
Size: Normal
Discussion:
Strategy: You can utilize the Base Wing effectively in almost every scenario.

2. Glide Wing - Glide Wing is the Dragon's defensive form.  As such, it's
balanced to survive combat rather than dish out the offense.

Name: Glide Wing
Class: Pure-Type, Defensive Form
Description:
Constitution: Normal
Effectiveness: Normal
Agility: Nimble
Rider Weapon: Ancient's Gun
Mount Weapon: None
Mount Power: NA
Mount Lockons: NA
Mount STT: NA
Glide: 3
Glide Recharge: Dependent upon level.
Size: Small
Berserk: Light Dragons that seek targets and return health to the Glide Wing.
Strength, number and duration dependent upon level.
Berserk Recharge: Dependent upon level.
Discussion: You can double-tap left or right to do a barrel roll.
Strategy: You'll be utilizing this mount whenever you have to shoot down a
large number of projectiles, or you must proceed through a very quick section
normal numbers of extremely weak enemies.

3. Heavy Wing - The Heavy Wing is the Dragon's assault form.  In contrast to
the Glide Wing, the Heavy Wing's primary purpose is to administer high damage
with each Light Arrow.

Name: Heavy Wing
Class: Pure-Type, Offensive Form
Description:
Constitution: Normal
Effectiveness: Normal
Agility: Plodding
Rider Weapon: Ancient's Gun
Mount Weapon: Purple
Mount Power: Electrically charge Purple Light Arrows.  Change in color
dependent upon level.
Mount Lockons: Dependent upon level. Sequential.
Mount STT: Slow
Berserk: Huge single, continuous Red Light Arrow.  Strength and duration
dependent upon level.
Berserk Recharge:  Dependent upon level.
Glide: None
Glide Recharge: NA
Size: Large
Discussion: The Heavy Wing is harder to maneuver and easier to hit than most of
the other mounts.
Strategy: You will be using this mount when there are little to no projectiles
to shoot down, or you need to inflict a large amount of damage upon a few
enemies.

4.  Wounded Wing - When Orta and the Dragon are wounded after the fight with
the Cavalry, the Dragon's Wings are partially destroyed.  As such, it is unable
to fly or morph into its Glide or Heavy forms.
Class: Pure-Type, Terrestrial Form
Description:
Constitution: Normal
Effectiveness: Normal
Agility: Plodding
Rider Weapon: Ancient's Gun
Mount Weapon: Blue Light Arrows
Mount Power: Normal
Mount Lockons: 8, Simultaneous
Mount STT: Normal
Berserk: None
Berserk Recharge: NA
Glide: 2
Glide Recharge: 14 seconds
Size: Small
Discussion: This mount is only available during Episode 5, Eternal Glacies.
Strategy: Since, you only have to worry about 2 dimensions, instead of 3,
gameplay during this section is noticeably easier.

WORMRIDER
---------
The Wormrider is the mount that Mobo uses throughout the game.  An interesting
quick is that no matter who you choose for the rider, Mobo will still pilot
the Wormrider.

Name: Baldor
Class: Mutate
Description: This is Hamah-hamah, the Baldor that Mobo rides throughout the
campaign.
Constitution: Low
Effectiveness: Normal
Agility: Normal
Mount Weapon: Body Fluid
Rider Weapon: Smoke Bombs
Rider Power: Formidable (10)
Rider Lockons: 3, Sequential
Rider STT: Slow
Berserk: None
Berserk Recharge: NA
Glide: 2
Glide Recharge: 12 seconds
Size: Large
Discussion: Only Mobo can ride this mount.
Strategy: The Rider and Mount uses are reversed with this mount.  That is, you
must lockon to use Smoke Bombs, but the Baldor can shoot fluid regularly.

BABY WING
---------

Name: Baby Wing
Class: Pure-Type
Description:
Constitution: Low.  It doesn't take much damage to bring down the Baby Wing.
Effectiveness: Questionable
Agility: Nimble
Rider Weapon: Ancient's Gun
Mount Weapon: Green Light Arrows
Mount Power: weak (32)
Mount Lockons: 4, Simultaneous
Mount STT: Fast
Berserk: Base Wing Style, 3 SECOND Berserk.
Berserk Recharge:  Extremely fast.  This is one of the balancing aspects of
the Baby Wing.  You'll be firing off Berserk Attacks moreso than regular
attacks.
Glide: 2
Glide Recharge: 12
Size: Small
Discussion: While being agile and small has its benefits, this mount is still
very fragile.
Strategy: You must use agility like no other mount with this creature.
However, you are going to be firing off more Berserks with the Baby Wing than
with any other mount in the game.

BLUE DRAGON
-----------

Name: Solowing
Class: Pure-Type Legacy
Description: This mount exactly resembles the Dragon from Panzer Dragoon.  It
is considered to be the most evolved form of the Dragon.
Constitution: Normal
Effectiveness: Deadly
Agility: Normal
Rider Weapon: Ancient's Gun
Mount Weapon: Blue Light Arrows
Mount Power: Deadly (4)
Mount Lockons: 8, Simultaneous
Mount STT: Normal
Berserk: None
Berserk Recharge: NA
Glide: 2
Glide Recharge: 13 seconds
Size: Normal
Discussion: Solowing needs no Berserk.  It's Light Arrows are deadly enough as
it is.
Strategy: You won't need much strategy to effectively utilize this mount.
Other than trying to figure out what to do with all of your spare time, since
everything dies so quickly.

DRAGONMARE
----------

Name: Dragonmare
Class: Bio-Engineered
Description: A huge, red-colored Dragon-type unit that has no eyes, a barbed
tail, and is covered in fangs and talons.
Constitution: Durable
Effectiveness: Formidable
Agility: Plodding
Rider Weapon: Empire Gun
Mount Weapon: Green Throat Mucous
Mount Power: Weak
Mount Lockons: 32 Shot, Sequential
Mount STT: Fast
Berserk: None
Berserk Recharge: NA
Glide: 2
Glide Recharge: 10
Size: Huge
Discussion: You can double-tap left or right to bank.
Strategy: Dragonmare's offer a totally different type of gameplay such that,
the Mount will almost constantly be expelling mucus.  You must be quick with
the joystick though to paint your targets as quickly as possible.  Since,
the Dragonmare takes much longer to shoot its projectiles than it does for
you to mark them, you'll be happily spending much time shooting down
projectiles with your Rider's weapon.

PROTOTYPE DRAGONMARE
--------------------

Name: Dragonmare Embryo
Class: Bio-Engineered
Description: A cream-colored, immature version of the fully developed
Dragonmares.
Orta and the Dragon battle these creatures in Episode 9, Showdown.
Constitution: Durable
Effectiveness: Formidable
Agility: Plodding
Rider Weapon: Empire Gun
Mount Weapon: Green Throat Mucus
Mount Power: Weak (32)
Mount Lockons: 32 Shot, Sequential
Mount STT: Fast
Berserk: None
Berserk Recharge: NA
Glide: 2
Glide Recharge: 10
Size: Huge
Discussion: You select this mount by holding down the White Button as you
select the Dragonmare.  Its abilities are identical to the Dragonmare despite
its white color and the lack of a control core in its back.
Strategy: See Dragonmare Strategy

PANZERWING
----------

Name: Panzer Wing
Class: Pure-Type, Panzer Dragoon Zwei Mount
Description: Lagi's PanzerWing form from Panzer Dragoon Zwei.
Constitution: Hardened
Effectiveness: Deadly
Agility: Plodding
Rider Weapon: Ancient's Weapon
Mount Weapon: Blue Light Arrows
Mount Power: Formidable (10)
Mount Lockons: 12 Shot
Mount STT: Very Fast, Simultaneous
Berserk: Base Wing Style, 10 SECOND Berserk.  This blows away every other
Berserk attack in the game.  You can almost kill the Atish with one full
Berserk Attack from PanzerWing.
Berserk Recharge:  Slow
Glide: 2
Glide Recharge: 6 seconds
Size: Large
Discussion: This Mount seems to be a little less mobile than Heavy Wing.
Strategy: While it takes a while to gather the Berserk, it is still VASTLY
disportionate to the actual attack itself.

AIRSHIP (BATTLESHIP BHOUT)
--------------------------

Name: Airship
Class: Machina
Description: A Battleship Bhout from the campaign.  It is armed with a
machine gun and a rocket launcher.
Constitution: Frail
Effectiveness: Questionable
Agility: Nimble
Rider Weapon: Machine Gun
Mount Weapon: Rocket Salvo
Mount Power: Formidable (10)
Mount Lockons: 3 Shot, Sequential
Mount STT: Slow
Berserk: None
Berserk Recharge: NA
Glide: 2 levels
Glide Recharge: 10 seconds
Size: Large
Discussion: You can double-tap left or right to bank the vehicle.
Strategy: You can only survive a 3 to 4 normal shots from any of the
enemies in the game.  Coupled with the slow STT and extreme size,
you should treat this mount as an extremely challenging handicap.

--RIDERS--
There appear to be no statistical differences between the Riders.

MOBO
----
Mobo is a fairly important figurehead in the Wormrider society.  He is
also a great warrior.  He is the only one capable of piloting the
Wormrider Mount.

AZEL
----
Azel was one of the primary characters of Panzer Dragoon Saga.  She
is also Orta's mother

ORTA
----
Orta is the protagonist of Panzer Dragoon Orta.  She is half drone, half
human and has a fairly strong connection with the Dragon.

IVA DEMILCOL
------------
Iva is the son of Letral Naus Demilcol, creator of the Dragonmares.  As
outlined in his story campaign, Iva is a fairly tragic character.
