1. Introduction
---------------
NFL 2K3 is a NFL Football sim made by Visual Concepts and published by Sega. NFL 2K3
contains tons of modes including Xbox Live support which this FAQ is dedicated to. On
Xbox Live you can download updated rosters along with playing other people.

2. What is Xbox Live?
---------------------
Xbox Live is an online service made by Microsoft. Most Xbox Live games contain options
like Create Game, Optimatch, Quickmatch, Statistics, Friends List, and Downloadable
Content. NFL 2K3 has all of those options but it also has scrimmage which is explained
in the Misc. FAQ portion of this Guide.

3. How do I play on Xbox Live
------------------------------

3.1 Getting Xbox Live
---------------------
To get Xbox Live you must have a broadband modem, an Xbox Live Starter Kit, Ethernet
Cables (varies by connection type), a router (optional), a credit/debit card and of
course a TV and an xbox.

You can get an Xbox Live Starter Kit at almost any electronics store. In the starter
kit you get a communicator head set, online demos of Moto GP and Whacked!, Xbox
Live startup CD.

3.2 Connecting to Xbox Live

You must turn off everything that you are connecting before your start!!!

Direct Connection: Take an ethernet cable (RJ-45) and plug it from your Xbox to your modem.
This is the easiest connection so once your done that, all you have to do is pick up an
Xbox Live Starter Kit. If you want to share your connection with your PC and Xbox look at the
router connection.

Router Connection: Take one ethernet cable (RJ-45) and connect it from your modem to your
router. Take another ethernet cable and connect it from your PC NIC card to the router. With
another ethernet cable, plug it from your Xbox to the router. Now check your PC if it is
connected to the internet. If it is not you will need to configure the router using
your PC. Now all you need to do is get your Xbox Live Starter Kit, pop it in and follow
the instructions.

4. Online Stratagies
--------------------

4.1 Most commonly used team
---------------------------
Without a doubt the most commonly used team is the Oakland Raiders, ask any NFL 2K3
Xbox Live player and they'll tell you the same thing. I don't use the Raiders and it
actually helps me because I play the Raiders so much that I learn almost all their plays
and I know which players to look out for before the game even starts.

4.2 Online Tips
---------------

- Don't be mad if your losing in the 1st or 2nd quarter, study which plays your
opponent likes to use and by the 3rd you should be able to read his/her plays
and stop your opponent easily.

- Have every single player from your opponents offense matched up! This is very
important, to get to the match up screen press start, go to game plan, and then
go to Defensive Match Up.

- Don't pick the Rams/Raiders. Most people have played these teams enough to know
most or even all their plays so if you pick them you'll probably have a hard time
getting your offense going.

4.3 Divergeance
---------------
There is a divergeance glitch in this game. The way it works is it disconnects the game
you are in. It doesnt happen that often but to prevent it this is what I do: Never play
2 games back-to-back. 90% of the time when I play back-to-back games I get divergeance.
If you must play 2 back-to-back games just eject the game after your first game and put
the game back in, this should stop the divergeance glitch.

5. Finding Players on Xbox Live
-------------------------------
5.1 Create Game
---------------
To create a game, go to optimatch and press create game to get a ranked game but you won't
be able to change the weather and other options. If you want to change it you can play
scrimmage which won't change your record at all so it's like an exhibition game. When
you press create game you will go to a lobby with other players and there you can
challenge other players and other players can challenge you.

5.2 Optimatch
-------------
This is exactly like Create Game except instead of choosing create game you choose find
this game, you will be taken to a lobby where other players are and you can challenge
other players. But other players won't be able to challenge you.

5.3 Quick Match
---------------
This is a feature that will find a game for you and take you into it. It is the fastest
way to find a game but you won't have any control over who you face.

6. Cheating
-----------
*** This part of the FAQ is meant to warn people about cheaters not to tell people
ways to cheat ***

6.1 Disconnecting
-----------------
When someone is losing they might unplug their router, this will start a countdown on
yours and his/hers screen. When it reaches 0, your opponent will plug their router back in.
This will give both of you a win.

6.2 Delay of game
-----------------
When you see that your opponent isn't picking a play on offense and is getting the
delay of game penalty over and over, this means he/she is trying to get you to quit. I
recommend that you quit or do the disconnection glitch because I'd rather get a loss on
my record than waste my time with an opponent like that.

6.3 Onside Kicks
----------------
There is a cheap way to do an onside kick, change your kicker to the weaker one and while
you are kicking put your cursor all the way to the right with as little power as possible.
This should end up in an onside kick. To stop it be the second player nearest to the
sidelines. When the kick is up take him and hit the opponent nearest to catching the ball.

6.4 Continuos off sides
-----------------------
Your opponent might keep running off sides, it is like the delay of game cheat except
on defense so I recommend you do the same thing I said there.

7. Misc. FAQ
------------
7.1 Scrimmage
-------------
Scrimmage is like a ranked game except your record won't change. You can change the
weather, time of day, percipitation, etc. during scrmmage but not ranked games.

7.2 Can I play with a guest?
----------------------------
Yes you can.

7.3 How do I change my playbook?
--------------------------------
When your at the team selection screen, press Y and highlight Playbook. Now change
it to whichever playbook you want.
