2. Introduction

Unlike Mortal Kombat: Sub-Zero and Special Forces, this is actually a
good MK adventure game. The controls are easy to learn and the
gameplay is a bit like Onimusha without the swords. This takes place
around the time Liu Kang won the Mortal Kombat tournament. In other
words, around the end of the First Mortal Kombat.

3. Storyline

(Taken from Instruction Manual)

"In the final battle of the first Mortal Kombat tournament, Liu Kang
defeated Shang Tsung and saved Earthrealm from domination. But in the
confusion of a mysterious earthquake, Shang Tsung and his fellow
conspirators escaped through a portal to Outworld. Kung Lao, who had
been posing as a Masked Guard, helped his fellow Shaolin Monk escape
the crumbling island. Liu Kang and his allies narrowly escaped with
their lives."

"When they returned home, the Wu Shi Academy was invaded by Baraka and
his Tarkatan horde in an attempt to defy the rules of Mortal Kombat
and take Earthrealm by force. Although the Shaolin Monks fended off
the invasion, Raiden sensed a deeper conspiricy and urged the Shaolin
Monks defeat Shang Tsung in Outworld, will they succeed? Or will they
sccumb to Shang Tsung's evil plot?"

4. Kontrols

D-Pad: Fatality Input Minimap Control
L-Analog: Move Character
R-Analog: Camera Control
R3: Change Camera Mode.
X: Jump/Evade
Circle: Power Attacks
Triangle: Launch Attacks
Square: Quick Attacks
R1: Modifier
R2: Throws/Pick Up Weapons
L1: Fatality Attack
L2: Lock-On/Guard

5. Advanced Kontrols and Maneuvers

Throwing: R2
When close to an enemy, your character will grab the enemy and throw
them. You can point it in a direction and they'll be thrown on that
direction.

Enemy Manipulation: Hold R1 and tap R2
Doing this, will grab an enemy and can take control of enemy to become
a human shield. You can upgrade your manipulation attacks as the game
is progressing.

Special Attacks: Hold R1 and press Circle, Triangle, or Square
Holding the Modifier and pressing an attack button will makes you
execute a special move. Each character has its own unique special
move. These is a meter that limits the amount of special attacks you
can do. It's the blue bar under the main health bar. The more special
attacks you do, the more the bar decreases. After a few seconds, thet
meter charges up automatically.

Blocks: Hold L2
Holding L2 will block incoming attacks by an enemy. Please note that
this also decreases your blur meter.

Lock-On: Hold L2
Holding L2 while not getting any attacks will focus the character
point of view to the nearest enemy. When you are locked on an enemy,
the player character will attack around their enemy. You can use the
right analog stick to change the enemy you'll be locked on too.

Evade: Hold L2 and press X
Doing this will cause the player to evade in any direction.

Multi-directional Kombat: Any attack buttons (Circle, Triangle,
Square)
This is one of the most useful features for this game. After starting
a combo, you can use the left analong stick to change direction your
character attacks.

Fatality: L1
When the red gauge next to the health bar fills up after doing combos,
you can preform a fatality. A fatality is an instant kill. When in
fatality mode, you have to enter a button combo using the D-Pad and
the attack buttons. Please note you have to unlock a fatality to use
it.

Weapon Kombat: R2
In Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, there are weapons scatter throughout
areas. Weapons are used to solve puzzles or attack enemies. There are
two ways to use a weapon to kill an enemy, direct attackin or pierce
it into an enemy to kill it overtime.

String Kombos: Any attack buttons (Circle, Triangle, Square)
String Kombos are an array of attacks linked together on a series of
attack button inputs. They can be used in most kinds of kombats. If
you're surrounded, you can use multi-directional kombat.

Sequence Kombos: Any attack buttons (Circle, Triangle, Square)
A sequence kombo is a pre-planned kombo, built between attack button
inputs to usually perform unique effects and properties. To do this,
you can set the enemy on fire, poop the enemy into the air (higher
than usual)or hurling an enemy away with a lot of force. This may also
cause the player to automatically follow the enemy after a launch
attack, making executing air kombat easier.

Juggle Kombos: Launch Attack button (Triangle)
Juggle Kombos are a series of attacks the launch an airborne enemy
back up into the air. This is like volleyball. You keep the foe in the
air. Juggling can be mixed between attack buttons just like string
kombos. Anytime the enemy is in the air, the player can try to juggle
him with any attack.

Kill Strikes:
Certain attacks act as a Kill Strike. A Kill Strike is basically an
instant win. If you execute a Kill Strike, a kill reaction will
happen.

Body Splits:
Body Splits happen when an attack causes the enemy's body to break
into pieces or when the enemy hits a background hazard like spikes or
catapults.

Air Kombos: Launch Attack (Triangle) then Jump (X)
You can launch an enemy into the air and jump into the air and
continue attacking. You can also throw them back to the ground or away
from you.

Recovery Attacks: Any Attack Buttons (Circle, Triangle, Square)
Recovery Attacks are attacks when a player is on a ground and gets up
with an attack.

Ground Techs: Jump/Evade (X)
When you press X lying the ground. you'll perform a ground teck.

Air Techs: Jump/Evade (X)
When you are flying through the air, press X to recover in mid-air.

6. Walkthrough

Goro's Lair

After the FMV, you'll end up in Goro's Lair. Pick up the koin and then
the oni will come out. Defeat them and them and pick up the next koin
and defeat the next set of oni. Another koin will appear. Pick it up
and defeat the last set of oni in this area. Before you leave, destroy
the skull hanging and jump and pick up the red yin yang koin. You will
unlock a koncept art. Now, go to the next area.

Pick up the next koin and defeat a set of oni in this area. Now, pick
up the next coin and watch the mini cutscene. Then, defeat the
enemies. After, pick up the next koin and kill the next set of oni.
Pick up the next koin and use the weapon to kill the oni. Now, go to
the next area.

Now, you are in the infamous spike pit like in the original Mortal
Kombat. Head foward and kill the oni. Try not to jump too much
otherwise you might hit the spikes and it will take a toll to your
health bar. Now, watch the mini FMV and you'll get an oni getting
uppercut'd to the spikes. Sweet. Anyway, jump on to the ledge and
defeat the oni. Continue forward and jump on the next two ledges and
head foward. Now, jump on the platforms. Be careful, you might jump on
the spike pits! When you get on the top ledge, you'll watch a small
cutscene about Reptile. Now, defeat the oni. Try now to get excited on
this area though, you might fall in the spikes! Now, advance foward
and go into the next area.

Pick up the red koin and you'll learn your first fatality. Awesome!
You will learn a fatality called Shaolin Soccer. You'll have to
perform the fatality to open the gate. To do it, you must combo until
you see that red gauge flashing. When you do so, you'll learn the
button commands. The next time you do it, the button inputs won't show
to make sure you check what the button inputs for a fatality before
performing it. Now, defeat the oni and head towards the next area.

You'll see the oni eat one of its fellow dead oni friend. When the
cutscene is over, defeat the oni. While fighting them, you'll see an
onyx koin. Pick it up and do what it says.  Now go to the next area.

You see that glowing statue? Go it it and save your progress. When you
saved, advance foward. You'll see a cutscence about a rock smashing
your path. Well, go down and defeat your first boss, the oni warlord.
There will be oni there. My strategy would be running around so the
warlord's sword will hit the oni. Just hit and run the oni warlord.
He's very powerful so you should proceed with caution. You can use
your projectile to damage him from afar. After you defeat the warlord,
pick up the firey koin and you now have the ability to long jump.
Defeat the rest of the oni and then head up the platforms. Wehn the
gap appears, perform a long jump. Be careful though, if you miss, you
have a very big price to pay for your health meter! When you head up
the platform, I advise you to save. Now, do a long jump to the land
that was destroyed when you first came up here. When you jump over,
head down that bridge and defeat the masked guards. Now, head in the
portal and head to the Wu-Shi Academy.

The Wu-Shi Academy

After watching the cutscene, defeat the Tartakas who ambush you. Be
careful of spikes. If you go close, you'll get damaged. You can throw
them on the spikes but be aware that you won't get any experience.
Head to the bridge. When you get on the bridge, those spike balls will
hit the roof. Run or else the roof will fall on you and you'll be
damaged. Now, follow the bridge. Watch the cutscene about a monk going
on the catapult. You can uppercut the Tartakas to the catapult but
remember, no experience will be gained. Now, defeat the masked guard.
After you defeat him, go back to where the first two catapults are and
jump on the ledges. Be careful of the statues or else you might get
burned thus getting damaged. Head up the ledges and then hit the
Tartakas to the spikeballs to break the ledge on the bottom. Head down
the ledge when you jumped on to and then go where the barrier was. Two
Tartakas will ambush you. When you're done with them, go to where the
barrier was. Defeat the Tartaka by putting him on the catapult. Go
back to the ledge with the fire breathing dragon head left. Throw a
Tartaka to the pyramid of spike balls and then head down the ledge and
go where you catapulted the Tartakan to break the barrier and jump the
platforms. Proceed with caution for there are spikes and the fire
breathing statues. When you go to the end of the hazordous gap, head
up the wall and advance forward to the next area.

After the cutscene, go down and help Johnny Cage. Defeat the Tartakans
who ambush you and then head to the right side of the 2nd house to get
to another part of the area. Oh no you've been ambushed! Defeat the
Tartakas who ambush you and then head toward the gate that opens.
After the cutscene, go up the wall. Watch out for the spike balls.
They are hurling through the air while you're on the wall. After all
of that, keep the Tartakas away from Cage. After a few moments, Cage
will finally open the gate. Defeat them and head down the gate and
then keep the Tartakas away from Cage until he opens the gate. When
Cage is done, head to the gate and grab the koin and sword. Now, head
up the wall by the pond and cut the ropes from the pots of molten
fire. Now, head back down and go to the left gate to advance to the
next area.

After the cutscene, head down the ledge. Go to the path on the right.
Watch out for the fire breathing statues! Now, head towrds the next
area.

Oh noes the academy is on fire!  Head foward and jump over the big
fire where that spinning thing is but watch out for the burning monks!
Interact with it and TEST YOUR MIGHT! Press X until the meter goes
past the line and then press L1. You'll see water going down and
quinching the fire. Now, head up the roof and then go left where the
spike ball is blocking. Pick up the koin and you have now unlocked
Johnny Cage in Versus mode. Sweet! Go down back to roof and go down
where the spinning thing was. Go back to where you started and head to
the roof on your left. Go up the roof and then go to spinning thing
and TEST YOUR MIGHT again. After doing this, go down the tower and
head towards the next tower. Do the samething and then go down on the
right side of the tower, go down, and break the lock again. Go down
the right side of the tower after you broke the lock and then follow
the path. When you get to a dead end, jump on the roof and then long
jump to the next roof. Go up the tower and break that lanturn to get
some health. Now, break the lock one last time and head down. and
watch the mini cutscene. Now, exit the area to the area you were in
last.

After the cutscene with Raiden, advance foward. Go down the ledge and
then defeat the Tartakas and then go down the other ledge. Watch out
for the swinging logs! Defeat the guards and then break the lanturn.
Go up the hill and then save your progress. Now, go in the portal.

The Portal

After the cutscene, kill those two hooded figures. There pretty tricky
so watch when the teleport and stuff. I don't think you can use a
fatality on them so you'll have to kill them with a beating. Now, go
to to the right side and head toward the path with the gap. Long jump
it and kill the demon captains. Go right and then go in the blue
portal to the next area.

Evil Monestary

Advance forward and then go inside the castle. After the cutscene, go
forward and some demon archers will ambush you. Defeat them and then
go up the stairs. Defeat the demon captain and then interact with the
lever and TEST YOUR MIGHT! After you done so, defeat the demons by
uppercutting then on the spikes and then go to the gates that open.

After the cutscene, head up the stairs and pick up the mini reapers.
Go up another set of stairs and then kill the demons. Notice no way of
getting up. Now, a demon handler will appear. Uppercut him on the
spikes and jump on his body to get to the top. When you jump, you'll
see a breakable object. Break it and get 100 experience. Now, head up
the stairs and go to the next area.

Now, kill those demon generals. Head up the stairs and go to the next
area. Pretty simple eh?

You'll see a cutscene and Kitana will taunt you again. Get the red
koin and you'll learn a multality. A multality is a way to instantly
kill multiple enemies. Sweet! Now, you'll have to perform a multality
to go forward. To do a multality, you have to fill the red gauge
twice! You'll see two things below your fatality meter. Those are
levels. Get to the 2nd level and kill them with a multality. When you
perform it, advance forward. Jump on the platfroms until to reach a
gap. Long jump over the gap and then go forward. The gate will close
and now you have to defeat the shadow priest and the demons. After you
kill them, a gate will open. Long jump over the gap and then the gate
will close again and some demons will ambush you. Take care of them
and then advance forward. Long jump the gap and then the gate will
close again and another set of enemies will ambush you. Take care of
them and then jump on the platforms. But watch out, Kitana is gonna
roll a pillar to you! After you make it to the top, save you progress
at the glowing statue and then advance foward and jump on you last two
platforms. Now, you must defeat Kitana. After a few moments, a
cutscene will appear and she'll escape to the portal leading you to
the next area.

Now, you must defeat the 3 ninja Mortal Kombat chicks, Kitana,
Millena, and Jade. Put Kitana in the device and you'll have to play
the game of keep away. Keep away Jade and Millena from freeing her
otherwise you'll have to do it all over again. After the spell time is
complete, watch the cutscene and defeat Jade and Millena. Throw them
into two circle things and then pull the levers to make the battle
easier. After putting their life meter down, you'll have to press L1
and enter the button commands. After doing so, you'll see a cutscene.
After the cutscene, pick up the koin and you'll learn the ability
"Fist of Ruin." Pick up all the green things and then head to the
portal.

Jump down the platforms after the cutscene and save at the statue.
Continue down and long jump the gap. Keep going down and you'll see a
big statue. Destroy it and then long jump another gap. You'll see
another big statue. Destroy it using the Fist of Ruin and then long
jump another gap. Destroy another statue and then long jump the gap.
After doing that, jump down two platforms and you'll see two big
statues blocking the way to a portal. Destroy them and then go in the
portal.

The Portal

After the cutscene, defeat the enemies. After you do, follow the path
to the portal. Defeat the priests and then head towards the portal.
You are now going to the living forest.

Living Forest

After the cutscene, head down the path and destroy the statue. When
you see some knight statues, destroy them and get some exp. Now, kill
the corpses and head towards the opened path. Save your progress and
then go back to where the corpses were and then long jump over the
sharp thones. Follow the path and destroy the knight statues to get
some exp. Continue to go along the path and then kill those things
that come out of the ground. If you want to kill them easily, you
could use a multality. Go to where the sharp thorns are and then long
jump into the door to go and then enter it to go to the next area.

Long jump over the river and then follow the path. Alternatly, you can
go in the water and the go to land but watch out for the snakes. Now,
kill the corpses and destroy the statues for exp and health. There
will be two statues that you cannot kill. Watch out though. If you hit
them or something, they'll come to life and be extremely hard to kill.
Now, head inside the door on the other side of the cliff to the next
area.

Long jump over the river. I recommend you don't go in the water
because there are snakes in it. Break the statues and watch out for
the live ones. Now, jump on those platforms and then jump on those
platforms by the waterfall. When you reach the top, destroy the
statues and then go inside the door to the next area.

When you go inside, go left and then walk on the skinny path. While
you walk on it, you'll be ambushed by spikes blocking your way,
corpses, and huge snakes. Feed the corpses to the snakes and then when
you feed the corpses to all of the giant snakes, continue along the
path and then destory the statues and save your game. After you've
done so, jump on the platforms to the left of the save statue. Feed
the tree for a hint where Reptile is and then jump on to the higher
area where the snake head is and then you'll be in Reptile's Lair.

Reptile's Lair

When you enter, the gate will close behind you. Go in the middle and
you'll have to destroy the clay soldiers that come near you with a
punch or kick. When it's done, a red koin will appear. Pick it up and
you'll learn a Brutality! Okay, this is like a multality except you
have to fill the fatality gauge to the 3rd level! When you do, execute
a brutality and then a gate will open. Enter it to go to the next
area.

Follow the path and destroy the statues to get exp and health. When
you reach the end, enter the door to the next area. Pretty simple eh?

After that cutscene, there will be a huge snake. Don't bother
attacking it otherwise you'll get ran over. Attack the pillar the
snake is slithering on with the fist of ruin ability. Three hits
should kill it. Now, the snake is slithering all over the place. With
the remainings of the pillar you destroyed, jump on it and then go on
the platform. Watch out for the snake though! This is pretty tricky so
watch where the snake is going. When you go to the end platform,
destroy athe pillar with the fist of ruin ability. Three hits should
do the trick. Now, follow the path that you have just gotten and then
jump on the platform to the next path and use the fist of ruin ability
to destroy it. Now, you'll have to destroy a fourth pillar. Pick up
the glowing thing for a lot of health and then you'll have to long
jump to the next platform. This can get pretty annoying. It'll be a
little easier if you stay on the far right end of the platform so you
won't get hit and then when the snake passes you, jump on the balcony
and then run to the pillar. Destroy it with the fist of ruin and then
say goodbye to snake! Now you must deal with Reptile.

Reptile will mostly rely on special attacks. He doesn't attack hand to
hand too often so tak advantage of the stipulation. At times, he'll be
on the top pillar throughing green things at you. Be sure to dodge
them or else your health bar will pay! You can't hit him up there so
wait until he goes down and then take care of him. Half way through
the battle, he'll turn invisible. Hit him and he'll be visible for a
short amount of time. Watch out for his fire balls. When he hits a
fireball, follow where it came from and hit him. The battle will be
somewhat easier if you trap him in a corner. He'll sometimes show his
head to give you an idea where he is. It could get pretty tough. After
killing him, grab the koin. You'll have the wall climb ability! Before
climbing the wall, pick up the glowing green things. After you've done
so, walk around the dead snake and press R2. It'll say that this part
is weaker than the rest. Destroy it with the fist of ruin ability and
then climb up the wall. Now, get out of the lair but first, destroy
the statues for health and stuff. Exit the lair.

Living Forest

Go to the saving point and save. After, exit the area. Then after the
cutscene, exit the area. After another cutscene, exit that area. Then,
exit the other area. Save your progress then head out the portal.

The Portal

After that cutscene, kill those shadow priests and then go down a
sloped path close to the portal. You'll see a wall. Use you wall climb
ability to climb up the wall and then defeat the shadow priests. After
you've done so, go inside the portal to the soul tombs.

Soul Tombs

Follow the path and then go inside that castle.

When you go inside, save your progress. After, break the vases for
some exp and health and then kill the Tartakas. There are two paths
you can go to, a red one and a green one. Lets take the red one.

Now, kill the enemys. There are two more paths. Lets go with the
stairway. When you go up it, kill the Tartakas and then use the wall
climb abilty on the skulls in the wall. Follow the path until you see
another exit. Enter it to go to the next area. You will see a path
with moving spikes. Jump over then and then when you go to the end,
pull the lever to open the left path that was previously closed. It'll
have to smash the guard for it close. Now, go down the path and go to
the gate that was previously closed. Pull another lever and then when
you smash the guard, go through the gate. Now, there will be another
path with moving spikes. Jump over them and then break the vases for
some health and then pull the lever. When you smash the guard, go down
the spike path, go left, head down the first moving spike path you
went to, go left, go though the gate, jump over another moving spike
path, and go left and enter to the next area. You'll have to defeat a
hell lot of Tartakas. The hooks on the ceiling is a death trap. Use it
if you want to. Use a multality or brutality to take care of them
easily. After killing them, follow the path to the next area. In this
area, there is spikes on the ceiling. There is a lot of enemys so I
advise you to take advantage of it. You will see 3 gold plate stacked
on each other. Test your might to break them and then go back track to
the area where you were fighting the corpses. Go left to the area you
haven't entered yet. You can fight the enemies if you want to. Follow
the path and then you'll met the boss, the Orochi Hellbeast.

This beast can be an annoyance because he can eat dead foes for
health. Kill the 3 Tartakas and then focus on killing him. The easiest
way to kill him is to use a brutality on the Tartakas and then hit the
Hellbeast with the brutality also. Now, go to the main room where the
save statue was. Save your progress and then head to the green room.

There is spikes on the ceiling. Use it to your advantage. You'll have
to kill a wave of them so if you're lazy like me, uppercut then to the
spikes. After all of this, the gate will open. Enter it to go to the
next area. Defeat the Tartakas if you want. Head to the right and
enter the next area. Jump on the platforms and watch out for flyng
rocks, skull heads, and shadow priests. Defeat the enemies if you
want. When you get to the other side, enter the next area. There will
be an overhead fan. Uppercut the enemy on it and then go to the next
area. Uppercut one of the Tartakas to the spikes that the small
cutscene showed you. Jump on it to go to the top balcony and then
follow the path to the balcony on the room with the overhead fan.
Follow the path to the broken stair and then jump down. After you jump
down, uppercut the enemies to the fan. When you uppercut all of them
to the fan, jump to the new platform and go to the top of the balcony.
Break the vases and then follow the path and you'll see this button on
the ground. Step on it and then you'll see a sword falling from a
statue from the previous room. Go down the room and then back track to
the first room of the green area. Pick up the sword and slice the
bodies and head into the room. You'll be in a room full of souls. Jump
by the big green thing and then use the fist of ruin ability while
jumping. After a couple of tries doing so, the green thing will
disappear. Defeat the enemies if you want and then go to the main room
where you save. When you go there, a stairway will open up. Save your
progress and then go inside. You'll now face Baraka.

Beat up Baraka and watch out for his projectile. About half way
through the battle, Baraka will start throwing monks that are on fire
to you. Use your projectile to put them out of their misery. When you
kill the monks, beat up Baraka. After a couple attack, he'll go on the
other side. Use your projectile on him and then after a couple hits,
Baraka will come back to your side and this is where the swords come
into play and this will be a little tricky. To kill Baraka, you have
to impale him (R2) with both swords. Hit him with a sword and then
after a couple hits, you'll have a clash with him. You'll have to test
your might on the clash. After you have done so, impale him. Do this
with both swords and then finish him. After you kill him, a wall will
summon. You can't get up it yet so go in the portal to the Wu-Shi
Academy.

Wu-Shi Academy

You really don't need to do much. Just climb up the big roof and then
go on the wall. Follow the wall and then go over the tower. Break the
dark statue and then follow it and go down the wall. Pick up the koin
and you'll learn the wall run ability. Run up the wall by the sand and
then run the big wall back to wall. Now, go back to the portal. Run up
the wall and you'll have a new ability, wall jump and a tournament
victory. Pick up the green ball and then go to the previous room and
get out of the soul tombs.

The Portal

Fight the shadow priests if you wish and then use your new ability to
jump down the wall. Go left and into the blue portal.

After the cutscene, kill the priests if you want and head down the
path. Go to your right and use your wall run ability. When you go to
the top, go to your left and use the ability again. Defeat all the
enemies to make a path to the portal. Follow it and then enter the
portal to the wastelands.

Wastelands

Pick up the sword because you'll need it later. Defeat the Red and
Black Mercs. If you leave them alone, they'll fight each other. Go to
the right and save your progress if you want. After, go left and use
your wall climb ability. Go right and jump over the gap. There are two
ways you can go, the bridge or wall run up the wall to the right. Lets
go with the wall run. Wall run up and use the sword to slice up the
dead bodies blocking the way. Enter the area. *This area is optional*

Go forward and watch out for the rolling rocks. Go left and you'll see
a ladder. Climb up it and then go foward again. Like the last time,
watch out for the rocks and at the end of the path, climb the ladder.
When you go up, it'll be like the last two, avoid the rocks and climb
the ladder. When you get to the top, there will be a prisoner Kabal!
After the cutscene, pick up the glowing green things. Behind the
statue, there will be a red yin-yang koin. Pick it up. I advise to
pick up Kabal's hookswords for they are very fast. Go back down and
then exit the area.

Now, lets go with the bridge. Go down if you went to the optional
area. Defeat the enemies if you wish and then slice up the dead bodies
blocking the enterence and enter the area.

This area can be quite tricky. To defeat the elemental knights, you
must put them in the pool where Raiden put his stick in and he'll zap
them. Do this to all of the knights. After you kill them, go to those
3 golden discs and then break them and exit the area.

A gate will open when you get outside. Just go down to where you first
entered the area. Save your progress if you want and then head into
the opened gate to the next area.

Now, you must fight Sub-Zero. Watch out for his ice attacks. A good
strategy is to hit him after he does his ice attacks. I advise you not
to combo too much on him otherwise he'll use a recovery attack to
freeze you. After a few cutscenes, Sub-Zero will fix the sunken boat.
When you're on the boat, either defeat the skeletons or throw them
off. After you get on land, wait for Sub-Zero to freeze the door. Use
your fist of ruin ability to break it. After you break it, go inside.

To get on the top, throw the enemies to the spike wheel. After you
fill up the bowl of blood, defend Sub-Zero from the enemies when he
freezes the blood. After he freezes it, wall climb the frozen blood.
Go on the pool of blood and long jump over the wheel to get a concept
art. Go back down and wall climb again to the top and then enter the
next area.

Defend Sub-Zero while he freezes the wall so you can run on it. If you
let them attack Sub-Zero, he'll go down to the ditch and you'll have
to kill a merc in the ditch and wall climb when you're done. After
Sub-Zero freezes the wall, wall run across it to the other side. After
the cutscene, save your progress and then enter the next area to fight
Goro.

Despite his size, Goro is pretty easy. Just play a game off hit and
run by only using your projectiles. If you try to combo him, you'll
just screw yourself. Halfway through the battle, Goro will pick up a
pillar and try to hit you with it. Just use the hit and run strategy
again and this battle will be a breeze. After you projectile him a
lot, finish him but whats this? Johnny Cage steals your Fatality?! No
wait this Liu Kang is an impostor! After the cutscene, you'll learn
the double jump ability. Get all the glowing green things and then get
out of the area.

After the cutscene, save your progress. Go to the beginning of the
area and then enter the portal to the dead pool.

The Dead Pool

I bet all of the veterean MK fans remember this area. To get to the
next area, get the enemies on to those five hooks hanging from the
ceiling. When you get them all to hang to the hooks, pick up the koin
and you'll learn the swing ability. Go inside the opened gate and then
use your swing ability to get to the top. Now, go inside the portal.

The Portal

Go down the ledges and then go to where the poles are at the bottom.
Use your swing ability to get to the top and then defeat the shadow
priests to go in the portal to the Netherrealm.

The Netherrealm

Save your progress and then go the opened path. Go down the stairway
and defeat the enemies if you want. When you get to the bottom, you'll
see a cutscene with Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot. After the cutscene, you
must defeat Scorpion

Scorpion can be quite hard. Beat him up. About half way, he'll swing
himself to an island. To get there, go to the opened path and follow
it. Be careful of the lava. When you see a stairway, wall run up the
wall and then go down the stairway when you go on the top. Now, this
part is a little tricky. To get Scorpion down, you must pull his spear
when he releases it. When he does releases it, press R2 fast and then
test your might. Avoid the flames by double jumping and running. When
he gets down, beat him up. When you beat up enough, he'll go back to
his cliff and summon flames on you. Pull down his spear when he
releases it and again beat him up. Keep doing this until you have to
fatality him. After you done so, head towards the stairs. But whats
this? He's still alive?! To rid of Inferno Scorpion, stay as far away
as possible from him and use your projectile on him. After you fire a
lot of projectiles and dodging his attacks, finish him. After a very
cool fatality, Scorpion will finally be in the lava but before he
sinks in, he'll make a thumbs up sign. After, pick up the koin and
then get the green orbs and then go up the stairs and pick up the exp.
Long jump all the gaps and pick the exp on the land. When you get to
the end, go in the gate and back track to the beginning of the portal
and save if you wish. Go in the portal. After the cutscene, Go down
and then go to the newly opened path and go in the portal.

The Foundry

Go forward and save your progress. Defeat the oni if you want to and
then go up the ramp. You'll see a cutscene with Jax. He'll say
something about Raiden. So then the Raiden thats guiding you might be
Shang Tsung. After the cutscene, go to where you encountered Jax and
destroy the barrels and get the mini reapers if you want to. Go out of
the room where you met Jax and go left to a room with stompers. Go
forward while avoiding the stompers and then test your might at the
turning thing at the end of the room. You'll see a gate partially
opened, Get out of the room and then go down the ramp and then go to
the room below the save statue. Go to the end and test your might
again on the turning thing. After you've turned it, go up the ramp, go
out of the room and then go to the room thats on the left of the save
statue. Defeat the enemies and then go to the next area.

When you get in, go foward and jump on the tiles on the lava to go to
another area. In this area, put one of the enemies into the fire. Do
this until you trigger a cutscene. Now, go to the open doors to the
next room. You'll have to deal with the Orochi Hellbeast. Just use
your brutality on one of the soldiers and then do on the Hellbeast and
this will be a breeze. After you kill the hellbeast, uppercut two
enemies on the two hooks. When you do so, wall climb the wall and then
go to the upper level. Go right and long jump the lava to pull a
lever. After you done it, long jump over the lava and then follow the
path. Kill the enemies and then here comes the tricky part, wall run
over the lava and avoid the spikes. After you get on top, go to the
next area. Just defeat the enemies and advance forward. Go down the
stairs and then climb up the wooden things that are on the wall to go
to the doors to the next area. Go to the 3 golden discs and test your
might to break them and then get the powerful axe. Go out of the area
and then go up the ramp and go right to where you opened the gate
earlier. Break the two crystals using circle and then go in the room.
Kill all the enemies and then go to the next area.

Go up the stairs and then go to the castle. After a cutscene, save
your progress and then talk to Kitana 4 times and you'll summon the
guards. Kill them and then go in the door.

Head down the flight of steps to trigger a cutscene. Now, you'll fight
Kano and Jax will help you. This battle could be quite annoying
because Jax doesn't go anything and his cannonball attack is annoying
too. After you've taken care of him, you'll see a cutscene. You'll get
a nice health boost. Pick up all the exp and then head back up to the
main room and save your progress and prepare for the final 3 bosses.

Shang Tsung- This guy isn't much of a challenge. He transforms into 3
people (Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage, and Reptile). Just beat him up, block a
lot, and don't over do your combos. After you've finished him, you'll
face Kintaro.

Kintaro- This isn't any different from Goro. Just use the hit and run
strategy with your projectile. You may combo if you know what you're
doing. If you're Liu Kang, you can run and use your rolling launch
attack. When he leaps up the air, just stand still and if you see his
shadow, immmidietly long jump away from him. After you've killed him,
you'll face Shao Khan

Shao Khan- Okay now you'll face off against the infamous Shao Khan.
Expect him to be a challenge. Use the hit and run method and stay
clear of his shoulder blocks. Stay as far away from his as possible.
Don't try your combos or else he'll dominate you because he has
counters for everything. Don't worry much about his projectile, it's
pretty useless. Sometimes, he'll taunt you so he'll be very open.
About half way, it'll be hammer time. Khan will use his signature
hammer on you. Just run around the arena and throw projectiles at him.
At one point, he'll spin around and use an attack that'll range
through the whole arena. To escape that, do two long jumps and a
double jump. With patience and some luck, you'll defeat him. Now, give
yourself a high five for after that hard fight and enjoy the ending.
