1. Introduction
******************************************************************************
I am MysticWeirdo also known by my real name Warren Grieder.

This game is loosely based on the Arthurian legend. You're cast in the role
of Memorick, apprentice to the wizard Merlin. You faced with the task of
ridding the land of Avalon of the evil that is facing it.

Note: Periodically in the game you may notice a message saying something
about "Writing Game Information". This is NOT an auto save, if you quit
you will lose all your progress.

3. Starting the game
******************************************************************************
Press start from the title screen to get to the main menu.
There are four options in the main menu. Use the d-pad to navigate the menu.
Press A to select. Press B to return to the title screen.

New Game:
--------
Select this to be a new game. Press A to select one of the three slots for
the save and the games introduction will begin. Press B to return to the main
menu.

Load Game:
---------

Select this to resume a game already in progress. Pick the save slot to load
and you resume the game. You start a respawn point which may be some distance
from where you saved. Press B to return to the main menu.

Options:
--------

Select this to set the games options:
Language: Choose between English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian.
Subtitles: Turn subtitles on or off.
Vibration: Turn the rumble feature on or off
Music: Set the music volume
SoundFX: Set the sound effects volume

Press B to exit the options.


Credits:
-------

Select this to find out who the Best Boy and Key Grip are. Press B to exit
the credits.

4. Equipment/Items
******************************************************************************

Swords
------
Memorick starts the game with a wooden sword and receives two upgrades during
the game. The first upgrade in Arondight, a metal sword the does slightly
more damage than the wooden sword. The final upgrade is Excalibur, which
does about twice the damage of the wooden sword and has a special power that
can be unleashed when Excalibur is fully charged.

Shields
-------
Memorick starts off with a wooden shield. The first shield upgrade is the
magic shield which allows the use of the shield special powers. The final
shield upgrade is the Dragon shield which increase the special powers and
allegedly offers addition protection from fire.

Armour
------
Armour affect the number of life points Memorick has. His initial armour,
Leather armour gives him 3 life points. The first upgrade, Mail armour, gives
him 4 life points. The final upgrade, Half-plate, gives him 5 life points.


Oracle Stone
------------
Once Memorick obtains the oracle stone you'll be able to see the locations of
the objectives on the world map and how many orbs there are to be found in
each region.

Orbs
----

The orbs that are scattered throughout Avalon are used to unlock Blue Leylines
(Merlin's refers to the leylines as receptacles) which contain runes. There
are also a few things that need to be activated/purchased using orbs.


This list gives the number of orbs found in each area of the world map.

Chests:
------

There are 5 types of chest in the game:

Wooden Chests which contain 3 orbs. These can be broken with any sword.

Ornamental Chests which contain a large vial of healing potion which will
restore one life point.

Stone Chests which contain 6 orbs. The shield bash power is required to break
these chests.

Metal chests which contain 9 orbs. Excalibur is needed to break these chests.

Crystal chests which contain 2 Excalibur energy crystals. Break these chests
with Excalibur. These chests regenerate after a short time.

Runes
-----

Runes are found in the Blue leylines and are used to activate the Red Leylines
and the Portal Leylines.

Excalibur energy crystals:
-------------------------

These yellow crystals are use to power up Excalibur's special attack. 6 are
required for a full charge. These crystal are found in the crystal chests and
are dropped by some enemies after you get Excalibur. Excalibur retains its
charge level when you respawn after dying.

Healing Potions:
---------------

These come in two sizes. Small healing points are dropped by enemies, 6 of
these are required to restore a life point. Large bottles are found in
ornamental chests and restore a full life point. You can keep up to a full
life point of healing potion in reserve if you're at full health. If you have
less that a full life point of healing point at death, the amount you have
will be preserved when you respawn.

Y: 1st person toggle

Black: Interface toggle

Left trigger: Block
Right trigger: Crouch

Combination Moves:

High Jump: Hold R-trigger and press A
Long Jump: While running press R and A
Double Jump: Press A and press A again while midair (not in the manual)
Roll: while running press R (not in manual)

Shield Bash: Hold B and release. Requires Magic Shield.
Pound Attack: Press A and then B while midair. Requires Magic Shield.

Jump attack: Press A and then X while midair (not in manual)
360 Swirl: Rotate left thumbtack 360 degrees and press X. Requires Excalibur.
Double slash: Press X twice (not in manual). You can get multiple slashes if
             your timing is right.


Excalibur special power: When Excalibur is fully charged, come to a stop,
press and hold R-trigger to go into a crouch and press X to activate the
special power which kills all normal enemies and injures some of the bosses.
This move is not documented in the manual.

Sliding
-------

Use the left thumb stick to move left and right as you go down to slide.
Forward accelerates and Back decelerates.

Horseback
---------

Left thumb stick steers the horse like the sliding controls. Press A to jump.

Griffin Riding
--------------

Left thumb stick controls the flying, pull back to climb and push forward to
descend. Press A to accelerates and B to decelerate. Press X to attack with
the Griffins breath weapon.

6. In Game Menu
******************************************************************************
Pressing Start activates the in game menu. There are three displays in the
in the menu, pressing the left or right triggers cycles between them.
The d-pad navigates within each display. B or Back takes you back to the game.

Options:
--------
Subtitle, Vibration, Music, and SoundFX function as in the Main Menu.

Save: Save the current game state. The includes which orbs have been picked
up and leylines activated, objectives completed, and bosses defeated. It does
not include regular enemies defeated, they'll usually be back when you reload.

Quit: Stop playing and return to the Main Menu. You'll lose any unsaved
progress.

Map:
----

Displays the Avalon world map. The d-pad can be used to select areas you've
been to. The number of orbs you've found in the area is displayed. If you've
acquired the Oracle Stone it will show the total orbs available in the area.

Objectives:
----------

Displays a list of tasks. Completed tasks are displayed in red, pending tasks
are displayed in green. If you have the Oracle stone the area(s) you need to
visit to complete the task are identified.

7. Tactics for Normal Enemies
******************************************************************************

You often be able to avoid enemies by running past them.  If you choose or are
force to fight here are some tactics to help you.

Goblins:
--------
Goblins can be found carrying a variety of weapons: unarmed, halberds, sword
and shield, large shields, and crossbows. They fall to few blows from a
sword. The shield bearing goblins need to be hit with a shield bash to make
them dizzy before they can be hit with a sword. The large shield bearer fall
to a few shield bashes.

Phantom armours:
----------------
These walking suits of armour can only be destroyed by 1 or 2 pound attacks at
close range.

Cockatrice:
-----------
Sword attacks work against these, 3 hits from Arondight will finish them.

Wood Devils:
------------
Sword attacks work against these. 7 hits with Arondight are required for
these.

Hobgoblins:
-----------
Hobgoblins come armed with a sword and shield. Shield bash them to make
them dizzy and attack them with the sword.  3 hit from Arondight will finish
them off.

Gnomes:
-------
Jump over the fireball the gnomes throws at you. A single sword hit will
finish them.

Wolves:
-------
Attack wolves with your sword, three hits from Arondight will finish them.

Bramble Weeds:
--------------
Avoid these thorny vines, they're invulnerable.

Will O' Wisps:
--------------
A single hit from a sword will finish these balls of light. Retreat to a safe
distance to avoid the explosion. If there are more than one of these, the
others may get caught in the explosion.

Wyverns:
--------
These miniature dragons can be attacked with a sword. Try to avoid their
rolling attack. 3 hits from Arondight will deal with these.

Carnivorous Plants:
-------------------
Attack the stamen of these overgrown weeds when it emerges. If you stand to
the side you are less likely to be hit by the seeds they spit out. 2 hit from
Arondight will be enough to finish them off.

Ogres:
------
Step to the side when these brutes charge you. Hit them in the back a few
times and retreat. Keep this up and the can be finished off easily. Its
possible to keep hitting them until they're finished after they're first
charge but you run the risk of getting hit if your timing is off and take 2
life points of damage for their powerful blows.

Trolls:
-------
Trolls are a tough opponent. Hit and retreat, until they freeze themselves
and then finish them off with a shield bash.

Formorians:
-----------
These golems come in fire and ice varieties. The strategy is the same for
both types. Stand in place until it throws its fire/ice ball at you, then
dodge the ball to one side and run up to it and hit it with you sword. Back
away and wait for it to reappear. Keep dodging the balls and attacking the
golems until they collapse after 3 (Excalibur) or 4 (Arondight) hits depending
on which sword you have.

8. Bosses
******************************************************************************

Water Elemental:
---------------
Jump across the 3 floating platforms to your left and run along the edge.
Knock over the brazier with your sword to knock it onto the water snake's
head. Some floating platforms appear. Double jump to the island in the
center of the pool. Jump across the pairs of platforms to your left leading
from the center, double jumping from the second platform to reach the shore.
Repeat to the process of jumping across the three floating platforms, running
along the edge and knocking over the brazier. Double jump out to the center
island again and make you way to the third and last brazier, which will finish
off the Water elemental when knocked over.

If you end up in the water you'll be hurt by the steam, try to jump out onto
the center rock or the shore as quickly as possible. When jumping across the
platforms to the ledges try to time the jumps to avoid the Elemental's bubble
attack.

Phantom Knights:
---------------
When you hit one of the knights its statue will glow. Use a shield bash on
the statue and the knight will take corporeal form. Hit it three more times
to finish it.

Trident knight: When it jumps run just out of its blast radius and run back to
hit it when the blast clears.

Mace knight: Dodge it when it charges and hit it in the back.

Sword knight: Wait for its attack, keeping out of range. It will take two
swipes and whirl around with a third swipe. Approach it and it will back flip
away. Approach on its shield side and hit it in the back when its lunge
attack misses.

Marquis:
-------

The Marquis starts the battle by summoning a Will O' Wisp that you'll need to
avoid. Each time he's hit he'll summon enough wisps to increase the total from
the previous summoning by one. They will usually be eliminated by the
Marquis' own attacks. There are also statues with chopping axes around the
perimeter to avoid.

Approach the Marquis and retreat when he swings his battleaxe. Run up to him
and he should try a chop with his axe (if you not close enough he'll throw his
axe which is hard to dodge), dodge the blow and get behind him. Try to hit
him in the back while his axe is stuck (its not a certain hit so it may take a
few attempts). Hit him four times to finish him.

Mordred:
-------

Attack the crystals Mordred throws throught the air at you with Excalibur and
grab the Excalibur charge crystals that appear. 6 crystals are needed to fully
charge Excalibur. If you need health the crystal Mordred makes spring from the
floor can be shattered to yield small healing potions.

Use the Excalibur special attack on Mordred once the sword is fully charged.
He'll run off, and your need to defeat 3 phantom armours with pound attacks.
Follow Mordred and repeat the process of charging Excalibur and using its
special on Mordred. Defeat 4 more phantom armours and follow Mordred again.
Charge up Excalibur again and use the special on Mordred to end the battle.

Tendril of Darkness:
-------------------

Jump attack the base on the tendril when its fully emerged from its portal,
approaching from the side as it emerges to avoid getting hit. Hit it 9 times
to finish it.

Rock Titan:
-----------

Shoot the crystals on the Titan's body with the Gryphon's breath weapon.
There are 7 crystals to be destroyed: one on the left wrist, one on the left
shoulder, one on the right arm, one on the head, one on the chest, one of the
right leg, and one on the left ankle.  The ones on the wrist and arm are the
hardest to hit since the Titan occasionally flail his arms so you might want
to try for them first.

Keep shooting towards the crystals, which will also destroy the incoming rocks
the Titan will hurl you're way.  Try not to get to close to the Tital or he'll
hit you with his arms.

After each crystal is destroyed, retreat and try to avoid the rock
outcroppings that the Titan causes to appear, varying your speed with A and B
button may help.

The Titan falls after the last crystal is destroyed.

Queen Mab:
-------

Break the crystal chests on the perimeter of the arena to charge Excalibur.
Avoid the fire balls as you make your way around the arena. Double jump into
center of arena and quickly use Excalibur's special before Mab uses her fire
breath attack which is an instant kill. Attack Mab's head with your sword
while she's stunned.

Repeat the process of charging Excalibur, using the Excalibur special and
attacking the stunned Mab until she's been hit five times to finish the
battle.

The number of fire balls Mab throws at you increases at the battle drags on.
When she been hit twice she'll double the initial number of fire balls. After
the fourth hit the number will be triple the initial amount.

9. Walkthrough
******************************************************************************

This walkthrough is broken into the various tasks from the objective list. I'm
not listing the locations of all 3270 orbs in the walkthrough, so you'll need
to explore a bit to find them all. Most are plainly  visible along the paths
you need to follow although there are a few chests  that a hard to spot. I've
put running totals of how many you should have if you've found all available
at various points in the walkthrough.  If you're having trouble finding the
orbs refer the orb list.

I've tried to include all the enemies that are encounted.  However I've
observed that enemies may not appear in the same numbers as listed.  Sometimes
an enemy will kill itself on the terrain or be killed by friendly fire before
you get to it.


9.1 Merlin's staff
   --------------

In Game Description: "Track down the goblins to the cave behind the waterfall
and bring back Merlin's staff."

In the introduction Merlin tells you that the goblins that took his staff went
north to the waterfall which isn't much help since there's no compass in the
game. You start in the Floating Isles on the path in from of Merlin's house
facing him. Turn around and head towards the portal leyline. Turn to the
right and you'll notice a blue crystal in the distance, that's the way the
goblins went. Either jump down from the portal or take the stairs further on
and walk back to the bridge. (Before proceeding you may want to explore and
collect as many orb as you can, there are 79 available without crossing the
bridge to the blue crystal.)

Cross the bridge to the blue crystal. Merlin will tell you that the sword in
the crystal is Arondight and the task to free it will be added to you
objectives. Since you can't get it yet continue on across the next bridge.
Deal with the 3 unarmed goblins there. Note the blue leyline to the right
that you will deal with later.

Continue along the path and jump over the gaps between islands. Head up the
stairs to the left beside the catapult marked with an X that you can't use
yet. Go along the path at the top of the stairs and deal with the two unarmed
goblins you'll encounter. Continue along the path and across the bridge
leading into the cave.

On entering the cave you'll see the staff in the distance. 4 unarmed goblins
wait for you here. You'll notice at red glowing seal in the back of the cave
and a lone unarmed goblin. The seal lets these goblins respawn so ignore them
for now. Double jump to the platform the staff is on to retrieve it.

Make you way beck to Merlin. If you've died you may need to fight or avoid
the goblins again. After returning the staff Merlin assigns you the task of
seeing the Lady of the Lake and give you a 50 orb reward.

9.2 Lady of the Lake
   ----------------

In Game Description: "Seek out the Lady of the lake and her fortelling
abilities."

If you've got all of the orbs available so far you'll have 188 at this point.
Head clockwise around Merlin's house to the blue leyline at spend 150 orbs to
retrieve the rune leaving you with 38 orbs. Take the rune to the red leyline
that is to the right of the bridge leading to the blue crystal holding
Arondight. Activate the red leyline and cross the bridge that turns around.
Enter the Enchanted Lake.

There's another seal at the entrance here so the 5 unarmed goblins here
will respawn so ignore them if possible. Collect enough orbs to bring your
total to at least 50. Take the path to the left from the entrance going by
the water to a 50 orb blue leyline that you will activate to get a rune.

There's a trampoline by the leyline. Jump on it to get on top of the plateau.
Deal with the goblin archer here. Jump over to the ledge to your left from
the plateau and deal with the two unarmed goblins. Hit the levitation sphere
with your sword to activate two moving platforms.

Head back to the entrance and follow the right wall to the falls and deal with
the goblin archer there. Hop on the nearby trampoline to get to the top on
the second plateau on the right from the entrance and deal with the 2 unarmed
goblins. Ride the 2 moving platforms to a red leyline. Activate it to cause
more moving platforms to appear.

Go back to where the goblin archer was by the falls and jump across these four
platforms to a rock outcropping on the other side of the falls. Do a high jump
to get to the ledge above. Jump across the three platforms behind the falls,
the first and third of which are moving and the second of which periodically
flips upside down. Jump on the trampoline on the other side to get up to the
ledge to the left. Ride across 3 more platforms to another outcropping. Double
jump across to rock and again to a cave entrance. If you've got all the orbs
available including the 80 available so far in this area, you'll have 68 left
so spend 50 at the blue leyline in the cave for a rune. Get in the water to
enter a slide.

Use the left thumb stick to maneuver through the slide. Remember that the
thumb stick is analog so don't push it all the way to left or right as you'll
likely over steer. Try not to crash into the various obstacles and avoid the
pits. There are 240 orbs in here so try to get as many as you can. Don't
worry about missing some of them for now, you can come back later. Use the
slanted stumps as jumps to get on some of the ledges.

After you make it through the slide, prepare to battle the Water Elemental.
See the bosses section for a strategy to use here.

After defeating the boss, head to the Lady of the Lake. She assigns you the
task of collecting the reagents necessary for summoning the Oracle Stone: 7
cockatrice feathers and 5 carnivorous plant leaves. She also gives you
the first shield upgrade, the magic shield which allows you to use the shield
power attacks: shield bash and pound attack.


9.3 Arondight
   ---------

In Game Description: "Find a way to free Arondight from the crystal."

Before gathering the reagents we can set about retrieving Arondight now that
we have the magic shield. Destroy the ice wall by the Lady of the Lake with a
shield bash. Go down the path and take the right fork to get back to the
Enchanted Lake starting area. Shield bash another ice wall. Jump down to the
left doing a mid air jump before you hit the ground to avoid taking damage.
Head back towards the entrance taking the time to activate the portal leyline
on top of the first plateau to the right of the main entrance. (If you go into
the now open portal you'll be taken to the portal room that lets you access
any portals you've already opened.) Head back to the entrance to the Floating
Isles.

Once you're back in the Floating Isles go back across the bridge, turn right
and go across the bridge to Arondight. Shield bash the crystal to free
Arondight which you'll now use instead of the wooden sword.

9.4 The Reagents
   ------------

In Game Description: "Retrieve cockatrice feathers and carnivorous plant
leaves in Merlin's Floating Isles and take them to the Lady of the Lake."

After retrieving Arondight continue on until you get to the catapult with an X
that you saw earlier. Jump on top of it and do a pound attack to use it.
Defeat the 5 carnivorous plants here to obtain the first reagent. Use the
catapult to get back and go back to Merlin. There is a trampoline to the left
of the path past Merlin. Jump up on it to get to the ledge above. Use the
catapult to here get to the cockatrice area. Defeat the 7 cockatrices to get
the feathers. Catapult back across.

If your orb total is at least 250 go to the blue leyline past where Arondight
was and retrieve the rune and take it to the portal leyline and activate it.
(If you don't have enough after getting the 82 remaining orb in the Floating
Isle you need to come back after collecting more orbs in the water slide.)

Go back to the Enchanted Lake at use the catapult between the plateaus to the
right of the entrance. This bypasses the moving platforms and leaves you a
double jump away from the cave with the water slide.

Go back down the slide and give the reagents to the Lady of the Lake so she
can summon the Oracle Stone. Once the stone has been summoned you'll be
assigned the tasks of Finding Merlin's horse Cinder, Finding the Tome of
Insight and Retrieving the Dragon's Tooth.

Before proceeding locate any orbs you've missed as you're going to need them.
You should have 90 left if you've found them all.

9.5 Find Merlin's horse
   -------------------

In Game Description: "Locate Merlin's horse Cinder in the Deadlands and then
ride out to the Valley of No Return."

Take the left fork past the Lady of the Lake to the Deadlands.

A few steps into the Deadlands, you'll see a cut scene with a Fire Formorian
on a plateau and an horse neighing coming from a pit on the ledge past it.
There was an inert crystal moving platform in the cut scene so there's a
levitation sphere (actually two of them) to track down.

Head to the right of the entrance. There are 3 wolves in the entrance area to
deal with. Enter the cave and get on the rock that's resting on a lava spout
and ride it up to the next level. Continue on until you reach an opening.
You'll see two yellow balls of light in the distance. These are Will O' Wisps
that are guarding the first levitation sphere.

Jump down to the area below or ride the rock down. Jump up the rock steps in
front of you. Head left under the bridge and up some more rock stairs.
There's a gnome across the bridge behind you an another on the plateau at the
top of the stairs in front of you. Both are guarding orbs so you might want to
deal with them. From the stairs by the bridge head left to some more stairs.
There are more stairs at the top of this set leading to the levitation sphere.
Deal with the wisps and strike the sphere which activates one of the platforms
by the Formorian's plateau. There are 2 gnomes nearby that respawn due to
the presence of a seal. Head back to the entrance.

From the entrance go left across a stone bridge and through the blue arch into
a cave. Note the chest hidden in a niche to the left of the passage entrance.
Go through the cave until you reach an area with lava. Jump over the gaps
between the rocks in this area until you reach some Will O' Wisps.

This is NOT ideal terrain to be fighting wisps so avoid them if you can,
hopping between the rocks until you reach a cave. Go through the blue arch
following the tunnel until it widens out into a cavern. Go right and deal with
the wolf. Continue through the blue arch and ride the rock that's on the lava
spout to the next level. Hop up the rock stairs to a landing where there's a
wolf and then continue up the stairs. Slide down the slope by the blue rock
and deal with the wolf at the bottom. Continue on up some more stairs to
another wolf. Ride another rock to the next level and slide down the slope
straight ahead.

Turn right and slide down another slope. Deal with the wolf and hit the
sphere. High jump to a ledge and ride the rock up to another ledge. There's
a small ledge to the left to high jump to and another to high jump to from
there. This will take you to a lava river. Wait for a rock and ride it out,
hopping off to the right before it goes over the falls. Go down to the lava
surrounding the plateau from the level intro cut scene. Hop over the lava
stream to the left so you can ride the leftmost of three floating rocks across
the lava.

Deal with the wisp here and go around the base of the plateau to the blue
leyline. Spend 150 orbs to get the rune.

Before facing the Formorian head counterclockwise from the leyline and deal
with the gnome on the rocks in the lava to the right. Make your way to the
ledge behind where the gnome was and head left to the portal leyline. Deal
with the 3 wolves and activate the portal. (If you've found all the orbs so
far you'll have 280 left.)

Make your way back to the plateau and ride the platforms to the top. Deal with
the Formorian using the strategy in the enemies section.

After defeating the Formorian a platform will activate and rise to the
plateau's level. Double jump to it and then jump to the ledge beyond. Drop
down into the hole.

You're now in the Deadlands (horse) area. Cinder is surrounded by wisps. Hop
across the rocks leading to Cinder and hit one of the wisps and back off. It
will explode and should take most or all of the others with it. Approach
Cinder and you'll start a riding sequence.

During the riding sequence try to avoid the pits, rivers, and obstacles like
fences stones and geysers by either steering around them or jumping over them.


9.6 The Valley of No Return
   -----------------------

In Game Description: "Find the Tome of Insight in the Valley of No Return"

You emerge from the riding sequence in the Floating Isles. Follow the path,
jumping over any gaps until you're back at Merlin. Go past the portal to the
bridge at the bottom of the small waterfall. Cross the bridge to enter the
Valley of No Return.

Approach the horse and activate another riding sequence. Avoid thorns,
fences and bramble weeds that spring from the ground. There are also a couple
of pits to jump over.

After your through the riding sequence, walk along the path and double jump
over the gap to where a tree is. Walk off the edge to the right of the tree
and you'll be at a blue leyline. Pay 100 orbs to get the rune. Head along
the water and go under the land bridge to the right where you can deal with 2
carnivorous plants. Head along the wall and you'll encounter 2 wyverns after
the water becomes visible again. There is a carnivorous plant a little
further on by a bridge. Cross the bridge.

Jump across 3 flipping platforms to a stationary island. Ride a moving
platform to another island. There are 5 more platforms to get to the other
side: a flipping platform, a moving platform, another flipping platform,
another moving platform, and a final flipping platform. Double jump from the
last flipping platform to reach the shore.

Cross the bridge. To your left there are 3 wyvern and 3 carnivorous plants
guarding some orbs and to your right are 2 moving platforms. Jump on the
first platform and onto the second to reach the ledge above where you can
activate the portal. Double jump across the gap and use the catapult there.

Approach the three witches who assign the Familiars task. The current task is
marked completed although you don't have the Tome of Insight yet.


9.7 The Familiars
   -------------

In Game Description: "Retrieve Paddock the toad and Graymalkin the cat and
return them to the witches so that they may clear the path to the Tome."

Go across the bridge to the left of the witches. Head down the path and
you'll encounter 2 wyverns and a carnivorous plant. Jump into the water below
and get on to the land in the one corner. Jump to the ledge with the
trampoline to the right and use it to get to the next ledge. There's another
trampoline here that you can use to get out of the pit. Go through the gap in
the closed drawbridge and you'll see a red leyline that can't be activated
yet.

Jump up the first set of stairs and go hit the levitation sphere to the left
which raises another set of stairs further up the path. Go back to the top of
the first set of stairs and jump up the next set. Go down the path to the
right and rescue the toad from 3 wyverns.

Go back to the top of the second set of stairs and jump up the next two sets.
Turn left and walk to the catapult which you should ignore as it sends you
back past the drawbridge.

Use 100 orbs to get a rune from the blue leyline to the right and pay 200 orbs
for the cat. You should have 96 orbs left if you'll found all of them so far.

Head back to the red leyline and activate it to lower the drawbridge. Walk
back to the witches allowing the familiars to keep pace. Once the familiars
are returned you'll be assigned the Tome of Insight objective.

9.8 The Tome of Insight
   -------------------

In Game Description: "Defeat the guardians and retrieve the Tome of Insight."

Head across the bridge to the right of the witches. Go down the path and
jump over the gap in the bridge when the bramble weed retracts. Continue on
the path, double jumping over the vine filled pit. There are 3 respawning
wyverns near another seal ahead. Avoid them and continue on. The carnivorous
plant in this area doesn't respawn. Get across the pit via the moving
platforms and deal with the carnivorous plant on the other side. Zigzag
between the rolling boulders and head left at the top. Enter the building and
defeat the Phantom Knights using the strategy in the boss section to retrieve
the Tome of Insight.

9.9 The Dragon's Tooth
   ------------------

In Game Description: "Find the Dragon's tooth in the Dragon Graveyard"

Make you way back to the portal. If you want to avoid the flipping platforms,
jump to the island to the left of the bridge leading to where you rescued the
Familiars and double jump down to where you can ride to two platforms up to
the portal. Take the portal to the Deadlands.

In the Deadlands head back to the main entrance. You'll notice there is a
fork here. The left path takes you back to the Lady of the Lake so take the
right path to the Deadlands (horse) area. Here you'll see two horse
platforms. Take the left one to go one to the Dragon's Graveyard. (The right
one is a short ride to the Floating Isles)

You'll enter another riding sequence where you need to avoid geysers, rocks,
fences and pits. You'll emerge in the Dragon's Graveyard.

Walk down the path and across the bridge. Jump over the gap and face 2
phantom armours. Continue on and jump between 3 small islands to the other
side. Head left to the entrance way. Go through the entrance to a large
cavern. There are three bone paths here. The left one lead to a portal
leyline, the middle path leads to and opening on the other side, and the right
path dead ends at a black crystal wall that you can't break until much later.
In the pit below the are 3 wood devils and 2 phantom armours that regenerate
due to the seal there. If you fall down there's a rock on a lava spout to get
you back to the start of the 3 paths. The pit also has and exit to the far
left.

For now take the middle path to a lava pit. There are platforms sliding in and
out of the walls here so time your jumps to get across. Once you're past the
pit go around the corner and across the bridge.

Double jump to the landing with the wood devil and deal with it. Hop on a rock
moving down the lava river and jump on the pipes as the rock goes under them.
Get back on a rock on the other side of the pipes. There are two wisps around
the bend, crouch under them to avoid them. Jump onto the center on the bone
path, the extending parts will bend under your weight. Jump from center to
center until you get to the lava whirlpool. Make your way across the swirling
rocks to claim the dragon's tooth. The Forbidden tower objective is now
available.

9.10 The Forbidden Tower
    -------------------

In Game Description: "Gain access to the Forbidden tower using the Dragon's
tooth and the Tome of Insight"

Once you have the tooth take the other exit from the whirlpool area.
Go down the hall and you'll reach the main cavern. There's a catapult here
that will launch you to one of the paths but you can just drop down and take
the exit from the pit that was mentioned earlier. There's a trampoline in
here that you can use to get to a passage way. Go down the passage way and
ignore the bone walkway for now.

Deal with the phantom armour just past the walkway and jump over that gap to
the blue leyline. Use 150 orbs to get the rune. (You should have 88 left if
you've collected all of them so far.) Return to the main cavern and activate
the portal.

Return to the bone walkway over the blue leyline. Carefully make your way
along the walkway, jump from center to center where there are extended
portions. Once you reach the other side go down the hall. (You should have 90
orbs if you retrieved the two from the extended portion of the last segment of
the bone walkway.) Drop down at the end of the hall. Walk by the trampoline
and go along the bridge over the lava, jumping over the gaps and timing the
flipping platforms correctly. At the end of the bridge you'll use the
Dragon's Tooth and the Tome of Insight to gain access to the Forbidden Tower.
The Mab's crystal objective is now activated.



9.11 The Mab Crystal
    ---------------

In Game Description: "Vanquish the Towers guardians and seize the Crystal
containing Mab's essence."

Enter the forbidden tower, there are two wood devils in the first room. Avoid
the steam in the next room and deal with the phantom armours in the third
area.

Jump up the broken staircase. Make you way across a series of flipping
platforms so that you can strike the levitation sphere on the other side. This
activates the center elevator. Jump back out to the blue crystal platform and
wait for the elevator. (You should have 127 orbs now).

The elevator takes you to the battle with the Marquis. Use the strategy in
the boss section. Defeating the Marquis earns you an armour upgrade and the
extra life point that goes with it. Leave via the now open portcullis. The
quest for Excalibur is assigned to you.

9.12 Excalibur
    ---------

In Game Description: "Locate Excalibur inside Camelot Castle and seize it
before Mordred does."

There are several areas you need to go through to reach Excalibur. Go in the
direction of the arrow to access the first one, the Road to Camelot.

9.12.1 The Road to Camelot
      -------------------

You encounter 3 wolves a short way down the path. Continue on and you'll meet
another pack of 3 wolves. Carry on and you'll find a goblin with a large
shield and an archer on a tower to the left. Deal with them and jump across
the small platforms in the spike filled pit. Deal with the 2 halberd
bearing goblins on the other side. Jump over the other set of platforms in the
pit and onto the drawbridge when you get across.

The are 5 unarmed goblins, 1 halberd bearing goblin and a goblin archer here.
Go through the goblin camp and around the bend to the left. There are 2
unarmed goblin up the hill from here. Jump between the platforms over the
water here to get to the other side. Drop down to the area below and head
left. Deal with the 3 unarmed goblins. A short distance ahead the are 2
unarmed goblins, a goblin with a sword and shield, and a goblin archer near a
seal so they'll respawn. Ignore them and go right, where there is a goblin
with sword and shield and 2 archers.

Jump over the fence past them and go through the archway. The path turns left
and comes to another spike filled pit. Double jump across the left side of
the pit where it's narrow. There are 2 sword and shield bearing goblins here
to deal with. Go past the next pit to the left and go down the hill to where a
wolf awaits. There's another wolf at the bend to the right, and yet another
as you approach the portal leyline. There and 5 unarmed goblins and a sword
and shield bearing goblin through the gate past the portal. Jump over the
fence in the next gate and deal with the halberd bearing goblin on the ledge
to the left.

Jump across the floating platform and deal with the archer. Another set of
platforms leads to another archer. Follow the path, turning left past some
ruins into a clearing. There are a lot of assorted goblins in the clearing.
A blue leyline is on a ledge to the left of the clearing. Spend 250 on the
rune and return to the portal to activate it. Return to the clearing and head
to the gate on the far side. (You should have 167 orbs left at this point.)

2 large shield goblins and an archer are here. Get past them to a bridge.
Jump over the gap and drop in the hole to access the next area, Camelot Under
Siege.

9.12.2 Camelot Under Siege
      -------------------

Welcome to the sewers. No swimming allowed in the green water as its hazardous
to you health.

The catapult beside you at the start will take you back to the previous map if
happened to forget something there. Go down the path to where 3 sword and
shield goblins and an archer await around a bend to the right. Jump over the
water by the campfire and jump up to the ledge above using the trampoline
there. Turn right along the ledge and jump into the half pipe. Jump to the
next half pipe and then to the ledge past it. Go up the stairs to the right
and jump across two more half pipes to the blue leyline which is guarded by a
goblin archer. Use 50 orbs to get the rune. (You should have 163 left.)

Jump down to the ground doing a midair jump to avoid damage, taking you back
to the campfire. Enter the hall that a bit to the left on the path onward.
There are an archer and a sword and shield goblin at a T-junction. The passage
to the right leads across a half pipe to a portal which you should activate.
Carry on from the T-junction to the corner with a sword and shield goblin. 3
goblin archers wait in the hall to the left. A halberd bearer lurks behind the
next turn to the right which takes you outside. (You should be up to 181 orbs
at this point). Go up the hill to a pair of wolfs and turn to the left. A
sword and shield goblin and an archer are in the next corner where the path
turns right. You'll encounter 3 wolves before the path turns left. Up ahead
there's a goblin on a ledge just below a blue leyline. Spend 150 orbs for its
rune. The are 3 archers and 3 sword and shield goblins around the turn to the
left from the blue leyline.  Don't miss the chests between the fire and the
building. Up the hill past them There are 4 halberd bearers and an archer
goblin, 2 of the halberd bearers and the archer respawn due to the seal here.
Enter the keep to the right. There's an archer in the corner of the first
room. go left into a hall that turns to the right into a room with and ogre.
(You should have 109 orbs now.)

You're forced to fight the ogre so use the strategy in the enemies section.
(Once defeated you can just run by him on any subsequent visits.) There are 3
archers just outside on the bridge. Down the slope there are 2 halberd bearers
guarding the red leyline. Activate it to open the gate down the next slope.
There they 2 archer in front of the gate. Go through the gate to access the
next area, City of Camelot. (You should have 112 orbs now.)

9.12.3 City of Camelot
      ---------------

Two hobgoblins attack you as you enter the city.  Don't miss the orbs on the
balcony above you. On the road to the right there is an archer goblin on a
balcony. Jump on the crates across from him to get to him.

Continue on and jump over the barricade in the archway and face the goblin
archer and hobgoblin. Use the trampoline to jump up to another archer and
jump across to the blue leyline. Buy the rune for 150 orbs. Head down and
deal with the gnome and the hobgoblin. Jump up from where the gnome was and
an ogre will appear. (You should have 32 orbs at this point.)

Jump across the barricade to the left and then jump up to the right where you
can deal with a hobgoblin. Jump up again and then over the 2 barriers to face
a goblin archer and 3 hobgoblins.

Go left where you'll find 2 more archers. Use the trampoline to get to the
platforms leading over the spike field. There a blue leyline to he right but
you'll need to wait until you've collected 150 orbs, so go across the two
streams and face the ogre that appears. Go left and deal with the 2 archers
and a hobgoblin. Go onward over the barrier and deal with the hobgoblin.
You should have 150 orbs if you found them all so go back to the leyline to
get the rune. Come back here and continue on to the right where there's
another hobgoblin to deal with.

Go right across the water and use the trampoline or high jump to get up to the
ledge in front of you. Go up the stairs and over the barricade to deal with a
gnome. Go left from here to deal with 2 gnomes and a hobgoblin. Jump over
another barricade to the left to face a gnome and two hobgoblins.

Turn right, going around the u-turn and head left. The archer and 2
hobgoblins here respawn due to the seal here so avoid them. Go left across 2
barricade to a broken bridge. There's a gnome across the first gap you jump
over. Jump over the barricade, 2 gaps, and another barricade to where
there's another gnome. 2 more gaps take you to a hobgoblin. Jump over
another gap, 2 barriers, and another gap and you will reach 2 red leylines
beside each other. Activate the leyline to open the castle gate.

Before proceeding, take a swim in the water below. There are 2 islands in the
area. One, to the right of the beginning of the bridge has a blue leyline
where you spend 150 orbs for the rune that unlocks the portal on the other
island. Use the catapult on either island to get back on the bridge and go
through the gate to the next area, Camelot. (If you've found all the orbs you
should have 132 now.)


9.12.4 Camelot
      -------

A few steps into Camelot you'll have to fight 5 hobgoblins. These don't
respawn in spite of the presence of the seal here. You can narrow the field
by charging up the shield bash as they warp in and dispatch the first one
quickly. Once they're defeated, go up the stairs and the doors will close
behind you. Turn right when you reach the throne and go through the turning
corridor to the room with the Round Table, where you claim the final sword
upgrade, Excalibur.

Use the strategy in the boss section for the battle against Mordred that
ensues. After the battle with Mordred you're assigned the next two
objectives: The Seal, and the Dragon's Shield.

9.13 The Seals
    ---------

In Game Description: "Destroy the 13 seals that bar the entrance to Morganna's
Mansion"

The Seals are the glowing red artifacts the you've seen nine of so far. To
destroy them you'll need to hit them with two Excalibur special attacks. In
most cases there's a crystal chest nearby to simplify recharging Excalibur.

You'll take care of the first of these on the way out of Camelot. From where
the battle against Mordred ended, go back through the broken window and turn
right at the throne to head out of the castle. 3 Hobgoblins warp in by the
seal. You can charge Excalibur by breaking the crystal chest here and
waiting for it to regenerate. Once you've destroyed the seal, recharge
Excalibur and leave Camelot, returning to City of Camelot.

The seal for City of Camelot is just past the bridge here, the Crystal chest
for the map is to the left of the 2 red leylines after coming out of Camelot
beside a black crystal wall. (The black crystal wall can also be destroy by
the Excalibur special attack to allow access to the Bayou if you want to
start collecting the ingredients for the Dragon shield before you deal with
the seals you've already seen.) Go across the bridge to the seal, dealing
with the enemies that have reappeared to deal with seal, either fight the
respawning enemies to collect the charges or trekking back to the crystal
chest to charge up Excalibur for the second attack.

You've seen 7 more seals so far, which you can destroy them in any order.
There may be additional respawning enemies by some of these seals. To
recap:

1. In the goblin cave where you found Merlin's staff in the Floating Isles.
The crystal chest is on a ledge before the bridge leading into the goblin
cave. (There may be three to five goblins here rather than one.)

2. At the entrance to the Enchanted Lake. The crystal chest is by the portal.
(I think there are more goblins now.)

3. In the area to the right of the entrance to the Deadlands just past the
levitation sphere. The crystal chest is beside the seal. (There will be 3
gnomes here rather than 2.  On one of the three times I've played through the
game the was also a Formorian.)

4. On the path from the 3 witches to where you found the Tome of Insight is
the Forest of No Return. Unfortunately there no crystal chest so kill the
respawning wyvern to recharge Excalibur. (There are now 4 wyverns instead of
3.)

5. A ways back from the portal in the Road to Camelot. The crystal chest is
in a nearby pit. (I think there are more goblins now.)

6. In the last field before you entered the build with the Ogre in Camelot
under siege. No crystal chest here, so kill the goblin hordes to recharge
Excalibur. (I think there are more goblins now.)

7. In the pit below the pit below the portal in the Dragon Graveyard. The
crystal chest is beside the black crystal wall. It would be a good time to
investigate what's behind the crystal wall here after you've destroyed this
seal. See the Dragon Shield section. (No change in the number of enemies.)

The remaining 4 seals will be encountered as you search for the components fpr
the Dragon Shield. 2 will be in the Bayou and 1 in each of the Caves and Snowy
Peak. These will be covered in the Dragon Shield section.

Once all the seals are destroyed the door to Morganna's Mansion in the portal
room is opened.

9.14 Dragon Shield
    -------------

In Game Description: "Find the Dragon's scales, the Titan's eye, the Flame's
Kiss, the Heart of Frost and bring them back to the blacksmith next to
Merlin's house."

9.14.1 Dragon's Scales
      ---------------

Return to the portal in the Dragon Graveyard and take the right bone path to
the black crystal wall. If necessary charge Excalibur at the nearby crystal
chest. Use the Excalibur special attack to shatter the crystal wall, opening
up a hallway. Go down the hallway to a lava area.

Jump across the 4 rocks that get boosted by the lava spouts to an island (you
can double jump from the 3rd rock if you like). Be careful as these rocks
sink into the lava where their spouts subside.

Jump across 4 more rocks to a ledge (a double jump from the second will get
you close enough to grab the edge so you can pull yourself up). Double jump
to the next ledge. Jump across 2 more rocks to a ledge at the base of a
staircase and go up the stairs. Deal with the 4 phantom armours and ride the
platform at the back of the area to collect the dragon scales just ahead.

There is a slope here that takes you to a tunnel leading to a catapult that
overlooks the portal cavern. Use the catapult to get to the center path. (You
should be up to 160 orbs now.)

9.14.2 Exploring the Bayou
      -------------------

Take the portal to the City of Camelot and use the catapult. Jump over the
barricade and gap to the red leylines and head right. Charge Excalibur at
the crystal chest. Use the Excalibur special attack to open the path to the
Bayou. Recharge Excalibur and enter the Bayou.

The are 2 wood devils just ahead of you as you enter the Bayou. Once you're
past them, jump across the giant lily pad to the next piece of land where
there are 3 more Wood devils. Hop up to the ledge to the right and pay 150
orbs to unlock the rafts at the dock here. (You should have 66 orbs left.)

Wait for the raft at the dock and jump on it. Ride it until the second raft
comes into range and then to the second raft. Ride the second raft across to
the far docks where you should jump off.

The game gets rather open ended here, so let's explore the bayou to see what's
available. Just to your left from the docks is the portal leyline. It will be
a long while before you can unlock it, so let explore the rest of the bayou.

Just to the right of the dock is a ramp leading up. Jump across the gaps and
you'll come to the first of two seals in the bayou. The respawning enemies
around this seal are Will O's Wisps. There's a crystal chest here to recharge
Excalibur. Destroy the seal while you're here. Past here, there are several
orbs and chests on the walkway and a small island that is out of sight from
the walkway unless you toggle to first person mode.

Drop down behind the crystal chest and jump over the gap. High jump up to the
small plateau to the left. Jump over the 2 platforms and deal with the gnome
on the ledge. Jump over the other 2 platforms to another ledge where you'll
find the blue leyline that has the rune to unlock the portal. While you'll be
able to afford this rune after thoroughly exploring the bayou, you should
leave it for last after you've found all of the ingredients for the Dragon
Shield and are ready to head back or you'll need to due some serious
backtracking in the Caves and/or Snowy Peak.

Return to the raft dock. You can jump on to a giant mushroom to a walkway that
forks after a short distance. Take the right path. Be wary of the gnome a
short distance from the gap in walkway, if you get hit by this fireballs you
can easily be knocked into the swamp water. There another walkway past here
with 2 gaps to jump over and a gnome waiting at the end. Go left from here,
jumping over 2 gaps. Jump across the 3 platforms here and you'll reach the
launch point for another horse riding sequence, which takes you to the other
bayou seal. While you may want to wait for the last armour upgrade, I'll cover
this now.

The obstacles you'll face in the Bayou (horse) area are rocks, fences, crates,
bramble weed and geysers. Jump over or steer around them as in previous riding
sequences. Cinder doesn't like swamp water, so jump over the gaps in the path.
There are a couple of large healing potions along the way so try to get them.
There are a couple of tricky spots: make sure to jump onto the dock after the
3 lily pads to avoid a crash, and be prepare to jump across a pit when the
path veers left at a mine cart track at the end of the ride. (You can get
credit for coming close on the final jump.)

After the riding sequence,jump on the small platform past the hore and from
there jump to the ledge above. There's a gnome just past the gate and more
beside the seal further on.  Destroy the seal using the crystal chest here to
recharge Excalibur. Strike the levitation sphere and ride to platform down to
the gnome below. You're back on the path leading to the horse ride, so go back
to the fork and take the left path this time.

Jump over the gap on the left path and go through the well house to a ramp
leading to the gryphon, Talon Feathermore, who can take you to the Canyon for
one of the shield ingredients. I recommend waiting until you have the final
armour upgrade before doing so.

Talon is above some docks. Drop down to the first section at jump over the gap
to the middle section. If you were to continue on you'd be back at the raft
dock area, however you should jump to the lily pad to your right. Jump onto
the log and then to the lily pad at the other end of the log. From there jump
on to the fungal growth to the right and up to the ledge. You can access the
Cave here, where you'll find a shield ingredient, a seal, and the last armour
upgrade. I recommend entering this area first before tackling the Gryphon ride
or the Snowy Peak so you'll have an extra life point for them.

For now lets explore the rest of the swamp.  From the cave entrance jump
across fungal growths, mushrooms, and lily pads, until you reach a pair of
balancing logs. Jump to the log in front of you . It will start tipping, so
jump you're way along it, past the center and then jump across to the other
log. Jump along it until you are in range for a double jump to the land past
it.

Head right and turn left after dealing with the wisp. Jump to the lily pad and
then to the log. Jump to the next lily pad and strike the wisp. Retreat to the
lily pad for the explosion. Jump back to the lily pad, across the fungi, and
two more lily pads. You're now at the entrance to the Snowy Peak where a
shield ingredient and a seal can be found. (You should have 271 orbs if you've
thoroughly explored the Bayou.)


9.14.3 Flame's Kiss
      ------------

Now that the Bayou's been thoroughly explored, head over to the entrance to
the Caves and enter them.  Once you're inside, jump up on the ledge a short
distance ahead, and cross the bridge over the lava to some rocks that rise on
lava spouts.

Jump across the 2 rocks to the ledge on the other side of the lava river and
deal with the goblin archer to the left.  A metal grate spans the lava river
by the archer, go on to it and face upstream.  Jump between the rocks that are
floating downstream to make you're way to a rock outcropping a short distance
upstream.  Climb the stairs to left and deal with the sword and shield bearing

Here you can jump to a floating rock and then to a stationary rock in the
center of the lava river.  From there jump to another floating rock and in to
the tunnel on the opposite side.  Follow the tunnel to a lava filled cavern
and wait for the moving platform to get close enough to jump on.

Ride the platform across the lava to a landing where there's a gnome to deal
with.  There is a rock on a lava spout to the right of the landing.  Jump on
it, then to a solid spot to its left, and then on to another rock on a lava
spout.  Jump across two more solid spots to make it to the seal, be sure to
time your jumps well or the fire balls from the 3 gnomes guarding the seal
will knock you into the lava.  There's no crystal chest here so you'll have to
kill the respawning gnomes to charge Excalibur when destroying the seal.

Jump back across the last two solid spots and turn right, jumping across 3
more solid spots to the bottom of a rock ledge.  Jump up the 2 ledges here and
deal with the 2 sword and shield goblins.  Proceed to the right until you
reach 2 columns of flipping platforms and deal with the sword and shield
goblin in front of them. Jump across the platforms in the order show here and
strike the levitation sphere on the other side.

Striking the sphere cause a grate to rise from the lava elsewhere in the
caves.  You can try to jump back across the flipping rocks, but if you fall
in the lava you'll respawn on the other side anyways, although the goblin will
be back.  Head in the direction the sign point down 2 ledges and jump over the
gap to the solid spot by the flipping rock.  To your right there are 3
platforms the you can jump across to reach a fairly wide tunnel.

Head down the tunnel and jump to the solid area to the right when you reach
the lava.  Go up the hill and deal with the gnome.  Jump across the 4 lava
raised rocks (these rock disappear into the lava when there spout subside) to
the other side.  From here jump up 3 platforms to a ledge.  Double jump across
the gap and then up a ledge to the portal leyline, being mindful of the lava
spouts here.

To the left of the portal is a rock on a lava spout that you can ride to the
ledge above.  Don't use the catapult here, it will send you well back in the
direction you just came from.

Jump across the lava raised rocks here (these too will vanish into the lava),
timing the first jump from the closest rock to allow you to jump to the first
rock of the left, and then to the second rock on the left which will take you
to the blue leyline where you can spend 350 orbs to get the rune.

Drop down past the leyline and make your way back across the rocks to the
portal which you can now unlock.  Go back to the rising rocks and take the
right set this time.  Go down the path on the other side, jumping to the ledge
to the left of a small lava pool.  Deal with the 2 sword and shield goblins
here and high jump other the ledge to the right.

Double jump over the gap and go down the passage way which turns to the left
through some lava spouts.  Double jump over the gap past the lava spouts.
Flame's Kiss is in this cavern guarded by 2 Formorians but there's a gap
between the grates leading there that's too wide to jump. (You might be able
to exploit a glitch here and skip off the lava but that cannot be done
reliably.)

Head out the passage by the sign and deal with 2 sword and shield goblins.
Past them, cross the fallaway rocks to the right and continue on, going to
the left of some lava.  Jump across the lava and deal with the Formorian.
Continue up the passage to some more lava.  Jump across 2 gaps to the left and
then across 4 rocks to the other side.  Jump on the ledge and across another
gap. Double jump across the next gap and continue on to more lava with a
circle of rocks and 2 wisps.  Deal with the wisps and jump around the circle
to the other side.

Go down the passage a bit and across 2 more set of fallaway rocks to a lava
area that has a large circular grate going around the perimeter.  Jump on the
grate and ride it around, avoiding the lava spouts, to the other opening where
you should jump off.

Here there are 4 flipping platforms arranged in a diamond the need to be
jumped in this order to make it to the other side:

Strike the levitation sphere here to raise the rest of the path to Flame's
Kiss.  Ride the now moving platform down and jump up to the ledge to the left.
Jump across the gap and go back through the passage and double jump across the
gap to reach the area with Flame's Kiss again.

Go across the path to the Formorians and deal with them.  If you alternate
your hits between them, you'll only have to dodge a single fireball at a time
after the initial hit.

A chest drops after defeating them containing the final armour upgrade, the
Half-plate.  Double jump to the ledge to claim Flame's Kiss. (You should have
201 orbs at this point if you've found them all so far.)

Make your way back to the portal and take it to Castle of Camelot and return
to the Bayou from there.

9.14.4 Heart of Frost
      --------------

Make you way to the entrance to Snowy Peak and enter it. Once inside, head
down the hill to the right and you will encounter an ice troll on an ice
field.  Deal with it and turn right to deal with another troll down the path.
Jump across three ice pillars to an area where 3 wolves wait for you.  Jump up
3 ledges to the right of this area and head left jumping over a gap.  Deal
with the wolf here and another just uphill from here.  Go along the path to a
gate, through which there are 2 trolls guarding some chests.

Head up the path to the right of the gate until you reach a catapult.  Use
the catapult to reach a ledge far above.  Jump across the 3 flipping platforms
to the other side and jump up 2 ledges.

There's a fork here, the right path lead to 2 trolls guarding some orbs and a
third troll up a hill guarding some chests.  The left path leads onward,
double jump over the first gap on this path and deal with a wolf.  Turn right
and jump across 2 more gaps to a larger field.  Across the field and a bit to
the right is another gap with a troll on the other side.  Jump over 2 more
gaps to reach a path going left.  Follow the path until you meet a troll.

Past the troll there are 5 ice ledges with gaps between them and another troll
on the other side.  Jump up the ledge past this troll and jump up the small
ledges to the blue leyline where you can spend 350 orbs on a rune.  Go back
down the small ledges and jump across the 3 moving platforms by the sign to
the other side.

Head right and deal with the Ice Formorian.  Turn right to where there are 3
ice trolls on an ice field.  Hurry past them, and turn left and deal with 2
wolves on the path.

Continue on until you jump up to the left up a series of ledges.  There is a
point of ice on the top ledge where you can jump over a gap.  Head to the
path in the far right corner of this field. At the end of the path jump up the
series of ice pillar in a counterclockwise arc and then jump up a couple of
ledges to the right.

Turn left and jump across the gap to deal with an Ice Formorian.  Cross the
ice bridge past him and deal with the ice troll.  Jump over the gap to the Ice
Formorian and across another gap to the seal, which is guarded by 2 ice trolls
and 2 wolves.  A crystal chest is available to recharge Excalibur.  Destroy
the seal and jump across the two platforms. (You should have 151 orbs now.)

You'll need to defeat the Tendril of Darkness here.  Use the strategy in the
boss section.  After defeating it, Jump across the two new platforms that have
appears and STOP don't get the Heart of Frost just yet.  Go right and unlock
the portal first and then go retrieve to Heart of Frost.

You'll find yourself in the Snow Slide.  Try to stay on the path as you can
fall off.  Avoid the various obstacles and pits, while trying to collect the
160 orbs in this area. (You should have 311 orbs in total at the bottom).  If
you've missed any orbs on the way down by the time you make it to the bottom
use the catapult here to try the slide again.

Exit to the Bayou at the end of the path at the bottom of the slide.  Strike
the sphere and collect the last 9 orbs here. (You should have 320 now).
You'll find yourself on the path between the entrances to the Caves and the
Snowy Peak.



9.14.5 Titan's Eye
      -----------

Head back to the Gryphon.  Its time to ride Talon to get the last of the
Dragon shield ingredients.  When flying through the canyon try to avoid
obstacles like falling rocks, giant hammers and other mining equipment, as
well as the static parts of the terrain.

Defeat the Rock Titan using the strategy in the bosses section to get the
Titan's eye.

Fly back through the canyon to the bayou, avoiding the same obstacles as
before in the opposite order.

9.14.6 Forging the Shield
      ------------------

Head to the blue leyline and get the last rune for 250 orbs leaving you with
70.  Unlock the portal and use it to return to the Floating Isles.

Go around Merlin's house to the blacksmith Gareth's house across the
bridge near the blue leyline.  Gareth will forge the final shield upgrade, the
Dragon Shield.

9.15 Defeat Mab
    ----------

In Game Description: "Defeat Mab using Excalibur's special ability and the
Dragon Shield."

It's now time for the final battle.  Head to the portal and go through the big
door in the portal room to Morganna's Mansion.  Jump over the two gaps in the
path and approach the mansion.  The way is barred by a yellow crystal wall
which can only be broken by a shield bash from the Dragon Shield. Go around
the wall in front of you and enter the arena where you'll fight Queen Mab.

Use the strategy in the boss section to defeat Mab. Save the game after the
final cut scene and credits.

10. Post Game
******************************************************************************

Once you've defeated Mab and have found all of the orb return to the portal
room. Use the last 70 orbs to activate the robotic sparring partner by the
portal to Morganna's Mansions. Don't worry about its attacks as it can't hurt
you. Use the pound attack on the robot and it will temporarily deactivate if
you hit the right spot, the red circle on top of its head. Each time it
deactivates one of the portals will be replaced by a picture of some of the
production crew. The robot permanently deactivates once all of the portals are
replaced by pictures.  Quit the game by pressing the X button at any of the
replaced portals.

11.  Possible routes for nonstandard movement sequences.
******************************************************************************

In this section I'll backseat drive as you go through the sliding, horseback,
and gryphon riding sequences.

Enchanted Lake (Slide)
----------------------
Tweak your course to avoid 2 stalactites before going between the ledges to
the left and right.  Go on the right side of the next stalactite and go around
the rock in the center, past a second ledge to the right.

Avoid the next 3 stalactites and go by a pair of stumps to you left.  Avoid
the pit to your right around the bend.

Avoid 2 more stalactites and go around or through the 4 stone arches taking
the water to the left of the ledge.  Avoid the stalactite to your left, the
pit to your right, and a rock outcropping to your left.

Go past a ledge to your left. Avoid the rock and stump to you right, and
another rock to the left.  Avoid the pair of rocks on either side, and the 2
rock outcroppings past there to the left and then the right.

Go around or through the 4 stone arches avoiding the rocks by the second one.

Steer in the air to land on the ledge to the left avoiding the pit and the
stalactite.  Follow the ledge back to the river.  Get on the ledge to the
right, following it back to the water.  Go around the rock and get on the long
central ledge, following it to a narrow opening.

Go through the opening and between two stumps.  Go past a stalactite to the
right and a rock to the left, and then another rock and stump to the right.

Avoid 2 more stalactites on the and catch some air over the falls.  Avoid 3
more stalactites before going through a rock arch.

Land on the right ledge beside the large central pit.  Follow the ledge to the
water and then through 4 arches and by a stalactite.  Jump to the ledge on the
left using a stump and follow it to the end of the slide.


Deadlands (horse)
-----------------

Steer right to avoid the first pit and geyser.  Tweak your direction to avoid
the rocks.  Jump to the left over the next pit.  Head right to jump over the
next pit and the fence past it.

Pull left to avoid the next pit and then further left after passing two rock
to avoid a pair of geysers.  Go right pass the rocks and 2 small walls, and a
wall with a geyser.

Pull left and jump a fence.  Go left around the two geysers as you jump the
then head to center to jump between they geysers at the next pit.

Steer around the lines of rock and jump over 3 fences.  Jump tine pit from the
partial bridge on the left.  Avoid the geyser to the left and jump the rock.

Avoid a few rocks and geysers to the side and accelerate over a fallaway path.
Steer around more obstacles and jump the river.  Steer around a fence and jump
the next one.  Jump over 2 rivers and 3 fences and avoid the final rock to
make it to the Floating Isles.

Valley of No Return (horse)
---------------------------

Jump over the right side of the first fence to avoid the bramble weed on the
other side.  Jump over the centers of the next 4 fences.  Jump over the left
fence.  Jump over the center of the next fence.  Tweak your direction right to
miss the thorns.  Jump over the center of the next fence and the right side on
the fence following it.  Go left around the bramble weed. Jump over the center
of the next fence and go right around the bramble weed.  Jump over the pit and
avoid the bramble weeds in this field.

Jump over the center of the next 7 fences and then the center of the pit.
Miss the next fence and jump over to center of the following one.  Jump over
the left fence and then the center of the next one.  Tweak to the right around
the bramble weed.  Jump over the centers of the next 3 fences.  Go around the
last two fences to get to the Valley of No Return.

Dragon Graveyard (horse)
------------------------

Go to the right of 2 geysers and then left of the next one.  Steer to the
right around the pit of go left of a rock.  Jump over 2 fences and go to the
left of a geyser and a rock.  Go right around the next geyser.

Jump over the pit to a partial pit and go left around the geyser. Jump over
the next pit to a partial pit and go right around the geyser.  Jump over the
gap in the partial bridge over the next pit and go between the geysers.

Jump over a fence and go to the left of 2 rocks and a fence.  Jump over a
fence and go right of a rock.  Go by the next fence and a rock. Go over the
partial bridge on the left, jumping over both gaps.

Go left around a rock and then right around a geyser.  Jump over the pit on
the left and go to the right of a geyser.  Go to the right of a rock and then
to the left of a rock, a geyser, and a pair of rocks.  Go right around a rock
and a geyser, and then to the left around another rock and a geyser.

Jump of the pit to a partial bridge and the go left around a rock.  Go right
past 2 rocks and then left past to geysers.  Take the next 2 geysers on the
right and the one after them on the left.  Jump over a final pit to reach the
Dragon Graveyard.

Bayou Horse (horse)
-------------------

NOTE: When jumping over the gaps in the bayou make sure you push forward to
accelerate as some of them are fairly wide.

Jump over the first gap.  Go left around a fence, and then between a fence and
a rock.  Keep to the center past two geysers to your left and jump over the
next fence.  Go left around the geysers and the rock.  Go between the next
geysers, and jump the fence.

Pass by on the left side of the geyser and then go to the right of 2 rocks.
Jump the fence to the left of the next rock.

Go between the rock and the fence, jump the next fence and go right of a rock.
Go left of the next rock and jump over 3 fences.  Go between the rocks and go
to the right of a stack of crates.

Keep to the center steering around bramble weeds and jump over the fence when
you come to it.  Avoid more bramble weeds and jump another fence.  Avoid still
more bramble weeds and jump the fence to get a large healing potion.

Avoid more bramble weeds and jump over the gap.  Jump over a fence, avoid more
bramble weeds, and jump over a gap.  There are more bramble weeds to avoid
before each of the next two gaps.  Avoid more bramble weeds and jump the next
gap on the right side to the docks.

Jump over three fences, getting the large healing potion from the third.
Go left of a rock and across a lily pad.  Go right of the 2 bramble weeds
in this stretch and jump 2 gaps.  Avoid more bramble weeds and go to the left
of a partial gap.

Go across three lily pads and jump to the dock from the third one.  Jump the
fence and avoid geysers and rocks.  Jump another fence.  Jump to the lily pad
from the end of the dock and quickly jump over the gap from the lily pad.

Avoid more bramble weeds and jump over a gap.  Avoid even more bramble weeds
and there jump over the last two fences and a final gap to the left.


Snow Slide
-----------

Avoid two ice pillars and go around the first ice barrier to the right.  Go by
the hill to your left.  Keep to the center avoiding several pillars and
another ice barrier.  Make the jump past a hill to the left to the leftmost of
two paths around a central pit.

Go through another stretch of pillars and another barrier, taking the first
bend on the outside and the second bend on the inside..  Go around the second
central pit to the left.

Keep to the left and enter the camp, adjusting course to the right to miss the
building in the center and the left to avoid the next building.  Adjust course
right to avoid the crates at the camp exit.  Keep to the center in the next
stretch avoiding ice barriers and ice pillars as the path enters an ice
tunnel.  Jump from the ramp at the end of the tunnel to another ramp with
takes you into a second camp.

Adjust course to the right to avoid the ice pillars in the camp, turning right
at the exit  then left past a pair of buildings.

Go over a couple of large ramps and by 2 smaller ramps.  Keep to the center
around 4 turns to a stretch with a log wall to the left.

Turn right at the end of the log wall and jump over a ramp landing to the
left.

After a fairly straight stretch go to the right of a large ice column.
and adjust to the left to enter the pass that it obscured from view.  Go down
this fairly straight stretch and zigzag around 3 pits to land at the bottom of
the slide where you can exit to the Bayou.


Canyon (Gryphon)
----------------
(to Rock Titan)

Fly to the right of 2 rock formations, under the next 3 formations and over
the next 2 formations.  Fly to left of 2 hammers and above the to the right of
a cart track.  Fly to the right of the next hammer and above the rock
formation.  Go right of the next formation and to the right and under the next
one.

Keep centered over the first part of the river, flying over the first rock
formations that spans the river.  Go right of a leaning rock, over a formation
and quickly under the next one.

Go left of the first hammer after the river and right of the next one. Go left
of a rock and under 2 hammers.  Avoid 2 rock formation to the right, go to the
right and under the next one, and to the right and over the following one.

Keep to the left of the next set of hammers a carts, likely taking a hit.
Keep to the left at mid altitude through the major mining operation here,
ducking under the scoops if necessary. After the mining operation keep to
center to emerge at the Rock Titan.

Keep to the center emerging at the mining operation.  Keep to the right side
at mid altitude again ducking the scoops if necessary.

Go the left of the hammer, under and right of the track, and then left of
2 hammers. Fly to the right of the next hammer.

Go the right and above a rock formation, under the next formation, and over
the next one.  Go right of the next formation and to the right and under
another formation.


Fly under a hammer and a rock formation.  Fly to the right of the next two
hammers.

Keep centered over the river going under the leaning rocks and over the
