Introduction
**********
The purpose of this guide is to detail all of the secrets, cheats, codes,
unlockables, and other sorts of things in Redeemer. I have attempted to make
this guide as complete as possible though if you do find mistakes please email
me and let me know.
While I have acquired all of these things in my own personal game, a variety of
sources were drawn upon (specifically for the push-button codes) and I have not
personally discovered each of these things. That being said, enjoy what
follows.
This is NOT a walkthrough for Redeemer. If you’re looking for that then
consult Sanctuary Remix’s guide on GameFAQs. This guide was specifically
written for GameFAQs and I cannot guarantee the latest version will be found
anywhere but there.

Unlockable Hunters
****************
There are two unlockable Hunters that the player can acquire throughout the
course of the game. Specifically these two Hunters are Joshua “God_45”
Mathews, also known as Wayward, and Carpenter. You may recall Wayward from the
PS2 game, or you may not. Heh.
Joshua “God_45” Mathews
Method of Acquisition: Allow 250 innocents to be slain
Tips on Acquisition:
Perhaps the best strategy for unlocking Wayward is to get your hands on some
sort of nice rapid fire weapon. The machine guns that Genefex commandos drop
is a personal favorite. Get a save file on the level where you must save the
escaping Genefex employee. Then instead of saving, take them out yourself.
It will take you several trips, but you’ll eventually get the message that
you’ve unlocked Wayward.
Carpenter
Method of Acquisition: Level 99 Melee Skill
Tips on Acquisition:
There’s no easy way to unlock Carpenter (sans the push-button code, see below.)
It should only take two playthroughs if you’re using melee a lot. I like
Redeemer for this myself as I find her melee attack very useful. It isn’t
difficult to acquire the level 99 melee, but you will have to spend additional
work.
Notes on Carpenter:
Carpenter isn’t able to combo like the other Hunters. This severely limits
some of his use but he’s still quite powerful. His ranged attack is a set of
machine guns that fire rather quickly. His stats are also much better then
any of the other Hunters so he seems to make up for his lack of combos with his
other abilities.
Unlockable Monsters/Collectable Cards
********************************
There are six different monsters that you can unlock as well and play as. To
unlock these monsters you must acquire three cards from each type of monster.
For instance say you slay a zombie (also known as a Rot) and it drops a card.
You only need to get two more cards from a zombie and then you will be able to
play as a zombie.
Monsters do have some interesting properties. Unlike the Hunters they cannot
gain levels nor are their controls even the same. If you elect to play as a
monster then you’ll need to play around with the control scheme for a bit to
get used to it. The game warns you that it might not be possible to win with
a monster, so it might be interesting to see how far in the game you can go as
a zombie, heh.
1) Zombie
“Shamblers, Rots, Undead, there’s all kinds of different names for these
disgusting things, but they’re basically the same. They may be slow and stupid
but they can take an incredible amount of damage and just keep coming.”
Tips on Acquisition
****************
This isn’t as easy to unlock as you might think. Unlike the previous Hunter
games, zombies do not make up the bulk of the monsters that you will be
fighting. The place they appear the most is Ripper’s Nightclub. Still it is
possible to acquire three cards in one game, but this depends mostly on luck.
2) Vampire
“The self proclaimed “top of the food chain,” Vampires are the only creatures
that are built to hunt and kill humans. Their speed and resilience make
Vampires the ultimate predator.
Tips on Acquisition
****************
Vampires are probably the most annoying to unlock. There are very few of
them, mainly holed up in Ripper’s Nightclub. You’ll be lucky to get a card in
a single game, so collecting three cards will be quite time consuming. They
are one of the better monsters though. It’s quite fun to play with a buddy
whose controlling Carpenter. Heh.
3) Foot Soldier
“The lowest tier of the toxin-formed creatures, these Footsoldiers are stronger
and faster than any Rot you’ve encountered. Their real strength comes from
their savage intelligence.”
Tips on Acquisition
****************
This is probably the first monster you’ll acquire. It is very easy to collect
all three cards in one game as these damn things just keep coming over and over
again. If you do only make it through the game with two cards, you shouldn’t
have much trouble getting the third in another run through.
4) Blade Beast
“This twisted creature’s speed and devastating blades are terrifying to
encounter and is unforgiving in its attacks. Anything caught in the swath of
their attacks falls like wheat, be they friend or enemy. They don’t care.”
Tips on Acquisition
****************
The Blade Beast is only marginally easier to acquire then the Vampire. It
appears in a few more places but other then that, hardly at all. Look for them
to appear in the Genefex labs and in the factory near the end of the game.
5) Security
“Teamwork is a hunter’s main advantage. When monsters team up it sends chills
up your spine. Easily the most frightening enemy yet encountered. Genefex
security move in formation and support each other.”
Tips on Acquisition
****************
This one should be easy to acquire. But is it? No. These damn things hardly
ever drop their cards despite the fact that you kill hundreds of them. The
best advice is to keep a file near the forest or the level where you must
rescue the Genefex workers; both have lots and lots of security. But it will
take some time to acquire all the cards.
6) Throwback
“The Throwback is the tank of the toxin-formed. This hulking beast bounces
bullets off its leathery hide and is powerful enough to withstand all but the
most lethal blows.”
Tips on Acquisition
****************
The Throwback is the hardest card to acquire. Rarely do these creatures
appear. On the harder difficulty there are one or two all over the place and
there are a few on the final stage, but there aren’t that many at all. A good
place to look for them is Gauntlet, the level where you must survive in the
elevator for five minutes.
III. Other Unlockable Characters
**************************
Besides the cards that you must collect to acquire the six monsters, there are
two other monsters that can be unlocked and played as.
Vincent
Method of Acquisition: Attain level 99 ranged
Tips on Acquisition
****************
This one is just like Carpenter, it will take time. The machine guns that
Genefex security drops can help to boost that ranged quite a bit. Avenger’s
ranged seems particularly useful as well and might be a good method for
building that ranged up. Redeemer seems to be the most annoying as her ranged
weapon isn’t very good.
Werewolf
Method of Acquisition: Attain level 99 conviction
Tips on Acquisition
****************
Judge is by far the best character to build conviction with. His word of power
is tremendously useful in slaughtering the hordes of the Undead. This one can
take more time then the others though since you must have enough conviction to
use the attack.
IV. Art Galleries
*************
Different goals must be met to unlock the various art galleries.
Art Gallery 1: Kill Warghoul once
Art Gallery 2: Kill Demon once
Art Gallery 3: Kill Santa three times
Art Gallery 4: Kill Abomination three times
Art Gallery 5: Kill Warghoul three times
Art Gallery 6: Kill Black Spiral Dancer three times
Unlocking the galleries isn’t difficult, just time consuming. You’ll
eventually unlock them all if you stick to focusing on unlocking the other
characters; they’re just sort of an added bonus.
V. Push-Button Codes
******************
The push-button codes give you extra weapons, greater powers, and in general
take all fun and challenge out of the game. In addition codes exist to unlock
all the unlockables so if you’re too lazy (or simply don’t care enough) to
unlock some of the other secrets then all you need to do is punch in the codes
and you’re set.
Unless indicated, cardinal directions are to be performed with the left
thumbstick
Y, Y, Y, Y, Up, Down, Up, Down: Gain All Edges
A, A, A, A, Up, Down, Up, Down: Gain All Weapons
B, A, B, A, B, A, Black, White: Get Heavy Weapons
R, R, A, A, Up, Down, Up, Down: God Mode
A, B, White, Black, B: Max Ammo For Current Weapon
B, B, White, White, White: Max Health
X, X, Y, Y, Up, Down, Up, Down: Mega-Melee Damage
Black, Black, Up, Up, Down, Down: Nightmare Difficulty
L, L, A, A, Up, Down, Up, Down: No Conviction Cost For Edges
Black, L, Black, L, Up, Down, Up, Down: Progress to Next Level
Y, B, Y, B, Up, Up, Down, Down: Super speed( fast movement, firing)
Y, Y, Y, Y, Up, Down, Up, Down: level 99 conviction (instantly unlocks
werewolf)*
X, X, X, X, Up, Down, Up, Down: Unlimited Ammo
X, B, X, B, Up, Up, Down, Down: Unlocks ALL secrets
B, B, B, B, Up, Down, Up, Down
*This code requires you to enter cardinal directions on the digital pad as
opposed to the left thumbstick.
Note that the codes that give you additional weapons may add them to your
default weapon list so if you give yourself a bunch of weapons check your
default weapon cycle to find them all.
VI. Method of Attack
*****************
This is all well and fine you say, but how exactly does one go about unlocking
all of these different things. It seems that there is so much to do; it will
take forever to get everything. Here is the order I suggest.
Choose either Avenger or Redeemer, for Avenger focus on building up ranged and
for Redeemer focus on melee. You may want to substitute Judge for Avenger or
Defender for Redeemer if you want the healing edges (though Judge’s will take
some time to get) Clear the game with your character. My first time through
with Redeemer I had level 50 melee simply because her melee attack is so
useful. Now beat the game a second time with this character and you should
have 99 in their respected skill. That will unlock one of the characters, and
you’ll have a few of the art galleries.
Now you can either keep playing with your built up character, take at least two
more runs to finish off their ranged/melee whichever isn’t built up. This
should give you all of the art galleries and another unlockable character. Now
all you have left to do is build up conviction. By the time you’ve done that
you should have most if not all of the monster cards.
Given that the game can be beaten within six hours it should take you 36 hours
to unlock virtually everything, or six games rather. The only one you’ll have
to go to trouble to unlock is Wayward, which can be done when you’ve gathered
everything else. Unless you’re unlucky, you should have all the cards at this
point too.
My personal favorite for this is Judge simply because he’s so versatile. I
find him the most useful character in a single-player game. Just make sure you
export your Hunter from your completed game before starting anew!
And it doesn’t matter which difficulty you play on either, so good luck and
happy hunting!
