Welcome to what once was the fifth FAQ I ever made.

I say "once was" because, when I wrote this back in very early 2010, I think,
this thing really sucked. It was hard to navigate, hard to understand, and not
really all that thorough. That's what came of me back then, finishing FAQs in
about three days.

In 2012, two years and over a hundred more FAQs later, I came back to this one
and realized just how bad this thing truly was. (Plus, I was running out of
options for next ethical FAQs.) My three-day FAQs aren't actually all that bad
now, if I do say so myself. :)

Though this probably won't be a three-day FAQ.

Anyways, here's my second re-done FAQ for you. I hope you enjoy this -- for
real this time!

Welcome to the bulk of this FAQ/Walkthrough. Within this section, you'll find
a wealth of information, guiding you from start to finish for this game. All of
the info is arranged in a semi- chronological order. This walkthrough has been
divided into smaller sub-sections so you can find what you want more easily.
What these sub-sections are can be found by looking in the Table of Contents,
found near the top of the document.

O====================================O
 Mission Name: Give Me Liberty

 Rewards:
 -- Jobs from Luigi Gortelli
 -- Portland Hideout (Save Point)
O====================================O

After the initial cutscenes, you'll automatically receive your first mission,
which requires that you drive 8-Ball to Hepburn Heights to get a change of
clothing.

This is a very simple mission, like many first ones. In fact, you aren't even
able to get wanted for a short amount of time.

Anyways, onto Hepburn Heights. Keep track of the radar in the corner of the
screen, for that is how I determine cardinal directions (north, east, etc.).
Get in the Kurama nearby by pressing Triangle and drive (X) forward and off
of the bridge.

Turn left at the bottom and go along this road for a bit until you can't go
forward much more. Turn left and once you are near the grass, turn right and
follow this road. Eventually, the pink dot on the map will be very close to
you -- the side alley is your destination. Pull into the blue marker.

Once you pull in, you'll learn of save points and garages. Afterwards, you'll
re-enter the car. Go around the corner to find the next blue marker, which
shows Luigi's place. You'll then get a mission that actually pays. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                               Luigi Gortelli
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Note that I largely recommend you familiarize yourself with the city. A lot of
directions are based on simple cardinal directions and place names.

O==============================O
 Mission Name: Luigi's Girl

 Rewards:
 -- $1,500
O==============================O

After starting the mission, grab a car and head to the pink dot on the radar.
This is the hospital; it is southeast of your current location. There, park
beside the girl with the blue arrow, Misty. She'll get in. Then simply go back
northwest to Luigi's.

O==========================================O
 Mission Name: Don't Spanka Ma Bitch Up

 Rewards:
 -- $4,000
O==========================================O

After the cutscene, go grab the nearby bat, then grab a car. Head southeast to
Portland Harbor. At the harbor, as you go through the gate, you'll find some
guy with an arrow above his head.

Of course, what else to do but kill him? But rather than get out of the car,
just drive over him and feel pleasure at hearing a squishy noise. Afterwards,
get the car the guy was next to, then drive back towards Luigi's. A little to
the north of there, you'll find the Pay 'N' Spray. Use it to finish the
mission.

O====================================O
 Mission Name: Drive Misty For Me

 Rewards:
 -- $1,000
 -- Jobs from Joey Leone
 -- Jobs from Marty Chonks
O====================================O

Now grab a car and drive northward to the park in Hepburn Heights. Park in the
blue marker and press L3 to make Misty come out of the building and into your
car. Then drive a while southward to Trenton, where you'll find your next
destination. Park in the blue marker for a cutscene.

O======================================O
 Mission Name: Pump-Action Pimp

 Rewards:
 -- $4,000
 -- Pistols in stock at Ammu-Nation
O======================================O

Before starting this mission, get a heavy, fast vehicle. I recommend a Coach or
Firetruck. You may also want to steal some Shotgun rounds by entering Police
Cars.

After the mission starts, head to the back of Ammu-Nation (to the east) to find
a free Pistol. Hey, it's free, so why not?

Now, begin to follow the red dot on the map, your target. Ram this car, a
Diablo Stallion, a few times. Driving into it from the side at a high speed, or
by driving alongside it and pushing into traffic or something are very
effective ways of damaging the vehicle quickly.

(Especially if the former method is executed near the Chinatown oceanfront and
you push them into the water, or you're going down the St. Mark's hill. ^_^
It is always just funny-looking.)

Anyways, assuming you didn't end up pushing the car into the water, you'll then
have to deal with the guys in the Diablo Stallion. They themselves have
Shotguns.

You can either go at them with the Shotgun I suggested, drive right into them
with the vehicle, or, perhaps the safest method, drive towards them and bail at
the last second to really squish them without risking too much damage.

O===============================O
 Mission Name: The Fuzz Ball

 Rewards:
 -- $4,000 ~ $6,000
O===============================O

Before starting this mission, I highly recommend getting either a Coach bus or
a fast four-seater vehicle. For example, the Police Car or the Taxi.

After getting the mission started, get in your chosen vehicle. You'll then have
to drive around Portland and pick up Luigi's girls, marked by the green dots on
the map.

After picking up as many as you can carry (one for two-seater car, three for a
four-seater, and eight for a Coach), head over to the Old School Hall in
Chinatown. It is south of Luigi's place, and just a short distance from the
Callahan Bridge. Park in the marker to drop off the girls.

If you didn't get four girls at least, you'll need to make a second trip for
some more of them. Continue doing this for as long as possible. Once you bring
four, though, the mission is effectively over. You can bring another four
extras for an additional $500 each.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
O========================================O
 Mission Name: Mike "Lips" Last Lunch
 Rewards:
 -- $10,000
O========================================O
You can only start this between the times of 05:00 and 21:00.
After starting the mission, drive northward to St. Mark's Bistro, marked by
the pink dot. There, you'll find a car with an arrow over it. Steal it.
Now, when you are driving this car, DO  NOT  DAMAGE IT. We need this car to
remain intact so as not to make Mike suspicious. Drive carefully northward and
into 8-Ball's Bomb Shop in Harwood, next to the car lot. Drive into the garage
to get the car bomb.
Now, given that car bombs are activated with the Circle button, you do not want
to press Circle whatsoever, or you'll fail the mission. Drive back to the St.
Mark's Bistro and park in the same spot as before. Line up as best as possible,
then press Circle and run. Eventually, you'll watch Mike go up in flames.
Mmmm... Barbeque.
Overall, be sure to hurry but not damage the car. You only get six minutes.
O==============================================O
 Mission Name: Farewell, "Chunky" Lee Chong
 Rewards:
 -- $10,000
O==============================================O
STRATEGY #1:
I recommend getting a decently fast vehicle, maybe one that also can hit hard.
Preferences include Police Cars, Coaches, Firetrucks, and Banshees. Also try
to get some Shotgun ammo.
Anyways, when you start, head northwest into Chinatown. You know that raised
gate southwest of the China Noodles restaurant? Circle around to the south and
you'll find more similar gates. Opt for the large one past the alley. Go into
the plaza on-foot and approach Chong.
Gun him down to the best of your ability; you'll win upon killing him. If you
fail, quickly get back into your car and chase him down. Ram him hard enough
and he'll bail. Then squish 'im.
STRATEGY #2:
For this, you don't really need any prep work; just enough money for two car
bombs. (I think that's $2,000.) Anyways, head to Chinatown and to the south
side of the plaza where you should find Chong's getaway vehicles. Steal each of
them and give them car bombs, then come back here.
When you park each car, press Circle to arm the bombs for explosion. DO NOT GET
BACK IN. Go into the plaza and meet up with Chong. He'll flee to his car and go
up in flames.
O===========================O
 Mission Name: Van Heist
 Rewards:
 -- $20,000
 -- Jobs from El Burro
O===========================O
For this mission, you'll need some of kind of vehicle with a decent level of
speed and power -- for example, a Taxi, a Cabbie, a Police Car, etc. Coaches
and Firetrucks are okay; you'll just need to be careful here, because we don't
want the target vehicle to flip. Then again, traffic will be easier to deal
with with a Coach/Firetruck. Your choice, I guess.
Anyways, once you start, head straight for the red dot on the map -- an armored
Securicar. In other words, guns are ineffective here. You'll have to ram it to
cause enough damage to the Securicar; enough for the guards to bail and flee.
Be careful, though -- as you continue to ram it, your Wanted level rises.
After the guards flee, somehow get rid of your Wanted level. I recommend that
you steal the empty Secuircar and use a Pay 'N' Spray.
Once your done, drive the Securicar up into Portland Harbor and park it in the
designated garage. Then exit the vehicle and garage to finish the mission.
O======================================O
 Mission Name: Cipriani's Chauffuer
 Rewards:
 -- $3,000 or $5,000
 -- Jobs from Toni Cipriani
 -- Uzi stocked at Ammu-Nation
O======================================O
With this mission, you'll be provided a car. Do not let it get destroyed, as
Toni is stubborn enough to not leave when his life is in danger.
Anyways, from Joey's garage, head northwest into Chinatown and go to the
laundromat marked by the blue marker (or pink dot, on the map). Go inside and
let me quote the crappier FAQ I had...
       "Toni will go in and out in five seconds. OH CRAP, an ambush."
You couldn't have really expected anything less. He's a Leone in Triad
territory.  *rolls eyes*
Note that, if you stick around to kill the four ambushing Triads, you'll get a
$2,000 bonus for this mission. Sweet.
Anyways, we now have to go to Toni's mother's restaurant, a.k.a. his home. :)
Head northeast into St. Mark's. After having left Chinatown, you're more or less
home free. So drive into that pink marker and collect $3,000, you taxi driver.
O=========================================O
 Mission Name: Dead Skunk in the Trunk
 Rewards:
 -- $10,000
O=========================================O
For this mission, I recommend grabbing a heavy, fast vehicle. Notably, the
Firetruck or the Coach. Also get some Uzi ammo.
Afterwards, drive down to Callahan Point. You'll notice two cars with their
headlights on in the vicinity of the targeted Manana -- one in the parking lot,
and one in the tunnel nearby.
Back up a large distance -- at least as far away as the El-Train stairwell in
Chinatown -- and drive back here at top speed. Aim for the car in the tunnel
and, if you don't flip it or push WAAAY back into the water, well... It won't
matter, just another car to deal with.
Afterwards, the other car(s) will chase you around. Use your Uzi to drive-by
it/them until it/they explode.
You're not done yet. Remember the targeted gray Manana? Take it and drive it
north into Harwood. In this area is a crusher; drive the car into the blue
marker nearby, park, and exit to finish.
O=============================O
 Mission Name: The Getaway
 Rewards:
 -- $30,000
O=============================O
You'll need to start this mission between 06:00 and 14:00. Bring a fast
four-seater car (Taxi or Police Car). I largely prefer the Taxi, as you can
put it into a Pay 'N' Spray, unlike the Police Car.
Once you start, go north into St. Mark's to pick up the group of robbers. Drive
them south to the bank in Chinatown. Park in the marker, preferably facing
north for the optimal amount of speed.
After a scene, you'll have a three-star Wanted level. Go north and through the
alley, then hang a left towards Luigi's place. Go right and you'll be able to
reach the Pay 'N' Spray. Use it to get rid of the Wanted level.
Then simply drive back to the robbers' hideout. This will be the last mission
for Joey.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                               Toni Cipriani
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
O========================================O
 Mission Name: Taking Out The Laundry
 Rewards:
 -- $20,000
O========================================O
This mission has a variety of ways you can complete. By far, the most fun (and
the cheapest) way is to simply bring a Firetruck or Coach to the mission.
Once the mission starts, your radar will indicate three Triad Fish Vans that
are roaming around Chinatown. Your goal is to destroy them all.
Using my Firetruck/Coach method, all you need to do is get at a high speed and
ram them from the side. (The side often results in a flip, though front/back
hits result in a lot of damage, too.) You can also try some drive-bys and such.
It's really all up to you.
Bring some Uzi ammo to this mission. This method doesn't require it, but you
may need it as back-up.
Once you start, head into Chinatown and to the designated location in the
alleyway. After the scene there, quickly run towards the van we noted earlier.
As one of the six Triads here will try to use it, it is largely to our benefit
to take it first.
Once you have -- and you should; it must be the first thing you do -- proceed
to run over the Triads. Once all six are dead, you're mostly done.
If you DON'T make it to the van, proceed to shoot the five on-foot Triads with
your Uzi. Afterwards, steal a car and chase down the Triad's van, drive-bying
it until it explodes. Run over the remaining Triad if he bails.
Either way, once you've killed the Triads, head back to Toni's place.
Once you start the mission, head over to Joey's place in Trenton. Park in the
marker and you'll pick up Joey and begin driving a Stretch. You don't have a
choice with this vehicle, and don't want it destroyed, so no random rampages,
okay?
Head over to Luigi's place in the Red Light District and honk the horn (L3) to
make him come out, then head over to Toni's to pick him up. Try to face the
front of the car northward.
Afterwards, some Triads start to ambush you. There's no real special plan to do
here (other than avoid death). Go forward (assuming you were facing north) and
up the hill using the first right. Do not let up on the gas.
At the top, as you approach Salvatore's mansion's gateway, you'll notice that
there are two Triad vans blocking the entrance. Ram the gap between them to
make it through. Then follow the dirt path to the mansion garage.
Once the mission starts, drive southwest towards the Chinatown waterfront, next
Run Chico over afterwards. Or, more fun, get out of the car and repeatedly
target him with a gun while you face the water. Chico will eventually move back
and into water.  ^_^  Little thing, but it's fun.
Anywho, now drive Maria south to Atlantic Quays. Park in the marker near the
warehouse to start a cutscene. Afterwards, you'll be raided by the police and
such, getting a Wanted level. Ignore trying to get rid of it; just get Maria in
the car and speed over to Salvatore's place to finish.
Bring an Uzi to this mission and a hard-to-damage vehicle, or at least one that
can plow its way through heavy traffic. Firetrucks are preferred.
Anyways, drive your way down into Chinatown. On the way, you'll hear that a
gang war is going on in Chinatown; you'll be seeing some of the Mafia fighting
the Triads.
Head over to Punk Noodles and use the nearby entrance to head into the plaza.
Defeat the first of three Warlords here.
Next, head northwest-ish to find another Warlord to kill. Don't worry too much
about getting out; just squish 'im.
As for the third, we'll need a Triad Fish Van. So find one and head over to the
diner near Callahan Point. Continue along the road south towards Atlantic Quays
and you'll see a dirt path to the right (the second one). Use it to safely go
into the compound.
There, simply floor it over to the third Warlord and make a pancake out of him.
Once the mission starts, drive north into Harwood. Go over to 8-Ball's Bomb
minutes, thirty seconds) to head over to the Triad fish factory.
This factory is in the same place as the third warlord from the previous
mission. To quickly and easily get there -- you do NOT want to heavily damage
the vehicle or it'll explode -- you should go through the tunnel nearby to
reach the SupaSave store in Portland View. Go along the road towards the
harbor.
Continue along this road to the intersection, then take a left and continue
straight to the dirt path from earlier. Use it to go inside the factory. Once
there, park between the gas tanks in the blue marker, press Circle to arm the
explosive, and get out. Get a distance away to watch the fireworks.
Afterwards, wait a bit so you can move forward without the Spook-o-Meter rising
(which it will if you're too close to Curly).
We will not follow Curly; we'll just beat him to his destination. Fly to
Portland Harbor by whatever method you prefer (maybe even the Flying Cars
cheat :) ). There, as you go through the main entrance, go to the left, towards
the Import/Export Garage, but take the westbound path rather than the one going
south.
Eventually, Curly will get there and confirm Salvatore's suspicions.
Make him pay dearly for this -- run him over. Be careful, though -- he has a
This is more of a cutscene notifying you that you'll need to head to 8-Ball
Once you're ready with the $100,000, head over to 8-Ball's and we'll prepare to
leave.
Once you gain control, get in a car with 8-Ball and drive down to Portland
Harbor. Near the big western ship, you'll find a blue marker. Park in there and
you'll be told to scout out a vantage point. This is best done from atop the
building nearby by climbing the stairs.
NOTE: To make things easier, take note of the ramp in front of the ship. You
     can block it with your vehicle; just note you'll be shot at with AK-47's,
     so be quick with it. This will slow 8-Ball down and make it easier on you
     to finish.
At the top, note that 8-Ball will not proceed to move on the ship until you
fire one shot. And he won't be able to defend himself; any experience with a
GTA game implies, then, that he'll be dead within seconds if you don't finish
the guards.
Scout out the ship and plan your shooting route; from left to right, as well,
starting from the ramp. Remember, even if you managed to block the ramp, there
can be problems because a fail-safe in the game prevents eternal blocking;
8-Ball will eventually teleport past the vehicle.
So quickly go from the ramp up to its top, a bit left for some Columbians
there, then go to the right and use your Sniper Rifle to continue shooting the
rest of the Columbians. Once you think you're done, keep an eye on 8-Ball as he
runs into the ship's interior (in case you missed one, which often occurs) to
place the bombs.
And so...
You sunk my battleship! *shot*
O=================================O
A simple mission. Once you start, head to the southwest towards Luigi's club in
the Red Light District. On the way there, you'll be paged with a warning from
Maria. Apparently ... IT'S A TRAP! </Ackbar>
We are to not ignore Maria, despite how doped up she may be at the time. (If
you ever played Liberty City Stories, you'll know exactly what I mean.) The car
truly is a deathtrap; a car with an active bomb, just waiting for you to turn
the engine on and blow you up.
So, instead, go south to Callahan Point. Near the diner is a tunnel to the
ocean. Use it and park in the marker near the docks. You'll meet up with Maria
and her friend, Asuka Kasen.
She apparently told Salvatore that you and she are an item and, of course, this
instantly made you a marked man. You are to be killed on sight. So Asuka opts
to take you to her condo on Staunton Island.
Drive the boat towards the docks.
Fun little thing. I tried randomly punching Asuka and Maria and I was blasted
with a powerful gun. Why would she need that? Plus, when I restarted driving,
they left me alone until I stopped. Weird.
So, onto Staunton Island, the heart of Liberty City ... in more ways than one.
You'll also receive a new hideout for Staunton. Sweet.
After a rather ... um, interesting ... conversation, you'll learn that you'll
need to kill Salvatore. No problem. He's going to be leaving Luigi's club in
three minutes (real life time) to his house. We have to kill him at some point.
I prefer that you use a Sniper Rifle for this mission, obviously. Drive over
to Luigi's club in the Red Light District with a fast car; a Yakuza Stinger is
often near Asuka's condo.
Once you arrive at Luigi's, go atop the roof of the building across the
street. Aim down at the entrance to Luigi's club and wait until Salvatore (the
guy with the arrow) comes out. Waste him.
Get some Sniper Rifle ammo and a few Grenades before this mission.
Apparently, the Mafia is looking around for you. (How they knew you killed
Salvatore is odd, isn't it?) Anyways, there are a few surveillance posts
throughout Staunton Island. We have to kill the guards at each of them in six
minutes and thirty seconds.
Begin by going to the park in Belleville. There is a lake at the north end of
the park. Go there and use the Sniper Rifle to take down the guards.
Next, go south towards the next surveillance post in Bedford Point, near the
Liberty Tree complex. Go to the east side of the area where the guards are,
into the narrow alley, and behind their vehicle. Drop a Grenade and enjoy the
show.
Now, the third post is perhaps the most difficult. Go north into Torrington and
to Kenji's Casino. Climb up to the top of his casino and, at the top, look at
the building on the other side of the street to find it riddled with six more
armed guards. Snipe them all down to win.
You may want a bit of Uzi ammo before starting this mission.
Okay, a simple mission. After the mission starts, find a Predator police boat
at the docks and go northward to the guilty voyeur. It is best to do this
mission at a time when the seas are not raging (i.e. sunny, mildly cloudy).
Anyways, chase down the target and shoot at him as you go. You'll go around
Portland Island back to where you started if you don't finish him off quickly
enough. (You CAN shoot with the Predator, you know...) Once you return to the
start, he'll leave his boat and head onto land, where he'll enter a Stallion
car.
*scoffs*  If you take this long, hurry up and chase him down, then drive-by
him or knock his car over.
Get a fast car before this mission.
Once you start, you'll have three-and-a-half missions to go through a few
payphones across Staunton Island.
Begin by going to the one in Torrington, then the one in West Belleville, then
the one on Liberty Campus, then the one in South Belleville. Afterwards, you'll
lose the timer and be told to go to the toilet block in the park.
Cool. Nothing better than a dirty restroom. Anyways, proceed into the park,
then into the center where the restrooms are. Walk into the blue marker to meet
with the crooked cop, Ray Machowski.
You'll also end this mission.
YOU MUST FINISH THIS MISSION BEFORE DOING DONALD LOVE'S "Grand Theft Aero"
MISSION IF YOU WANT A 100% COMPLETION SCORE.
You will also want a heavy, fast vehicle. The Firetruck is the best you can do
for now. The Uzi is also a decent idea.
Anyways, drive to the designated place to the northwest near Kenji's Casino.
When you arrive at the spot, you'll now be forced to kill the guy within the
vehicle.
So ram him hard with the Firetruck. If you're lucky, he'll flip and end this
mission pretty quickly. If not, you're stuck with a 5-Star Wanted level, so we
REALLY need to work fast.
Continue trying to ram the guy and flip him or at least push him into traffic,
as he'll bail if his car's damaged enough. (And then he'll likely be squished,
what with all of the kamikaze FBI Cars after you.) You also do drive-bys at him
or the Cops, hence the suggested Uzi.
Once Tanner's dead, you win.
Get a lengthy vehicle, such as the Coach or the Firetruck.
Once you start the mission, head to Newport and into the back alley with the
Pay 'N' Spray. The target building it right here. Now, use the Firetruck/Coach
to block the alley into the main street. Put the vehicle at an angle so it will
face to the northeast and both the front and rear touch the walls.
Now, get out and toss the given Grenades into the window pointed out to you.
Once one successfully goes in, the targets will flee in a car, straight into
your Firetruck, effectively getting stuck.
Toss a Grenade over there to finish the mission. If you feel like you'll run
out of Grenades before then, buy some AK-47 ammo before starting the mission
from the Newport Ammu-Nation.
O==================================================O
Bring along some AK-47 ammunition from the Newport Ammu-Nation. Body Armor is
also a good idea.
Once the mission begins, head over to the hospital in Rockford to steal an
Ambulance. This is not required, but is helpful for free stuff. Drive around
to Phil Cassidy's place next, your destination.
There, you'll find a blue marker. Do not touch it.
Instead, bypass it on the left and turn around. Face north/northwest, then
drive into it. You'll speak with Phil shortly. Afterwards, get back in the
Ambulance and drive between the Barracks OL and crates. Turn left and drive
into the wall, staying near the crates.
Exit the car to note the weapon icons (Shotgun, Uzi, M-16) near Phil. You'll
also note some Body Armor between the crates and the Rhino tank. More on that
last one later. There are some other weapons (Molotov Cocktails, Rocket
Launcher) atop the crates.
Hence, the Ambulance. Back up into the crates and jump onto the Ambulance, then
to the crates, to pick up the Molotovs and Rocket Launcher. Pick up whatever
else you can before the Columbians arrive. While doing so, note the building in
the corner and how it has a narrow path. Block it with the Ambulance.
Once the Columbians arrive, blow up their Cartel Cruisers with the Rocket
Launcher, and later on, the Ambulance to kill any coming that way. Then proceed
to aid Phil with your M-16/AK-47 by shooting those coming on-foot through the
gate. Once the Columbians are dead, mission complete.
..
But what about that Rhino tank? Well, I now know of a way to take it, thanks to
RARusk.
Well, you'll need the Infinite Run ability (complete Ambulance mission Level 12
to get it), and room in your Staunton garage.
You'll have run behind it and push it to the safehouse. There is a definite
route you'll almost NEED to push it in, or you'll get killed. From Phil's
place, go onto the north Staunton Loop, then go west towards the Coliseum.
At the three-way intersection, go south and to the three-way at the end of the
road. Continue to the south end of the road, then turn east and go uphill. You
will need to "zig-zag" it up the hill. In other words, push it more on one side
than the other until you hit the wall, then on the other side, and so on.
At the hilltop, turn to the right to find your hideout. Push it down the hill,
then into the garage to unlock it and make it yours!!
It would be a good idea to get some Police Bribes (at least two) at your
hideout by doing the Vigilante mission. Additionally, bring either a Coach or
Firetruck, or the Rhino to this mission.
Anyways, our goal is to hit a Bobcat (the target on the map) and grab the
evidence that falls out. You have to hit it, grab a piece, then hit it again;
you cannot hit it six times. After the first time, you'll get a 2-Star Wanted
level.
To quickly extinguish this, go use the Bribes at your safehouse. You won't get
any more Wanted level stars for this mission (that are based on hitting the
Bobcat). Proceed to get the six pieces of evidence and somehow destroy your
vehicle, so long as it is NOT put in the water.
Note also that, if you simply hit the Bobcat with a Rhino, thereby destroying
the Bobcat, you'll instantly win. ^_^
This mission is quite simple, so long as you bring along some Rocket Launcher
ammunition from Phil's.
Begin this mission by heading to the docks at the Callahan Bridge or the ones
near Asuka's condo and getting into a Predator; which one won't matter. Why?
After getting in, get back out and drive over to the SupaSave in the Portland
View area. Go into the alley between the store and the docks, then turn right
when reaching the grass. Go to the beach.
When near the water and your target, switch to the Rocket Launcher and take
aim. Fire at the boat to start a cutscene. Afterwards, you'll probably note
that you didn't really destroy it (or I didn't at least).
The target will then start to drive around pointlessly, looping around the big
ship, the rocks, and the lighthouse. He won't leave the area. Good.
Fire another rocket at him to finish him.
Note, however, that if he beaches, he'll leave the boat. You will want to kill
him NOW, if ever, for he wields an AK-47 and will not hesitate to commit
murder.
By the by, if you manage to kill him after he beaches, try getting in his boat
for an interesting Easter Egg. :)
You are NOT to use a Rhino in this mission, whatever you may think, for it will
seriously delay the completion of this mission. Rather, use a Firetruck. And,
no, Rocket Launchers will not work. (Well, they do for killing the witness, but
not for destroying the Ambulance.)
After the mission starts, take the Firetruck and head towards the target on the
radar. Smack this Ambulance a few times to eject the witness (from the mission
"Silence the Sneak"). Seeing as we have to kill him...
Well, he is fire- and bullet-proof, so we can either toss a Grenade on him, or
run him over with the Firetruck. Eventually, either way, you'll kill him and
win.
Once the mission starts, you'll have to go across Staunton and collect three
the Pay 'N' Spray, so if you manage to dent up the car, you'll be able to
repair it easily enough.
So, anyways, the cars. You'll have six minutes to get them all there in, as
previously mentioned, mint condition.
There is a Stinger in the parking lot behind the Liberty Tree complex. Get it
first, then use the Blista near the Newport garage to head to the parking lot
of the Rockford hospital for a Cheetah. Deposit it in the garage and re-grab
another Blista. Head to the Coliseum in Aspatria and you'll find the Infernus
in the Coliseum parking lot.
Before starting this mission, grab some Uzi ammunition. It would also be
helpful to grab a Yardie Lobo from Newport.
Once the mission starts, you'll need to find a Yardie Lobo first. I often find
mine in Newport. Once you grab one, head over to Liberty Campus to pick up the
Yakuza contact.
Then drive to the Rockford hospital parking lot. Park in the blue marker to
start the ambush. I'd prefer to drive-by the four Columbians first, then
destroy their Cruisers. This will almost finish the mission. Then just grab
the briefcase nearby and return to Kenji's Casino in Torrington to finish the
mission.
Before the mission starts, get some Sniper Rifle or Rocket Launcher ammunition.
After starting the mission, we'll need to go to three businesses across
Staunton to collect protection money. The first one, near Love Media, goes on
easily enough.
The second is in Bedford Point. As you approach, you will be shot at by a
Diablo gang member. Is this a sign of things to come? Regardless, squish him
beneath your tires and pick up the briefcase.
Then head to Aspatria for the third business to find that they've been robbed
of their protection money; obviously, it was the Diablos.
Head over to Hepburn Heights on Portland Island now. There, you'll note the
El-Train station nearby. From atop there, fire your Sniper Rifle or your
Rocket Launcher to kill the Diablo group with the briefcase.
After killing them all, grab the briefcase and drive back to Kenji's Casino to
finish the mission.
I recommend bringing along a very fast vehicle, or one that can really push
through traffic. The Banshee, Cheetah, Infernus, Stinger, Coach, and Firetruck
are all ones that come to mind.
Once the mission starts, you'll need to go around Staunton and kill off at
least eight Yardie SPANK pushers. They are marked by the green dots on the map.
They appear at random and eventually disappear.
So, yeah, the basic idea is to go towards the one you think is nearest you and
squish him beneath your tires. You'll need to kill eight to finish this mission
successfully; each extra one brings along another $1,000 for you. Woo.
Bring along some Sniper Rifle ammunition from the Newport Ammu-Nation and some
M-16 ammo from Phil's place. Consider finding a Cartel Cruiser before the
mission as well, as one is required for this mission.
Once you start the mission and find a Cartel Cruiser (often around Fort
Staunton), head to Aspatria. There is a gated area here down the road from the
Coliseum. Before approaching the gate in the Cruiser, first exit the car.
Get right up on the gate and aim your Sniper Rifle through it and kill as many
Columbians as possible, usually about four. Then get in the Cruiser, approach
the gate, and, after it opens, get out and snipe down the other two guards in
the open.
Now, you'll notice four closed garage doors nearby. Switch your current weapon
to the M-16 and approach each door. Within each one is a Columbian guard; kill
him. In one garage is the Old Oriental Gentleman we're here to liberate. Once
you find him, return to your Cruiser and get in with him.
Afterwards, drive back to Love Media where Donald is to finish the mission.
Any of you play Grand Theft Auto: Vice City? If so, you'll probably get a bit
of nostalgia from the cutscene prior to starting the mission.
After the mission begins (or before), get a Cartel Cruiser. The one from the
previous mission will suffice (just repair it). Go to Fort Staunton to find
others if you need them.
So, once you've got one of them, head to the multi-story car park in Newport.
Go up the northern set of ramps. Once you approach the roof, you'll take note
of Kenji and his guards; one of this has the powerful M-16.
After the scene, continue to the top level, face south/southeast towards the
corner ramp and the gap between the Yakuza Stinger and the wall. Floor it and
bypass this gap and you'll easily run over Kenji. Afterwards, go past the next
Yakuza Stinger and head towards the ramp.
After you hit the ground, floor it to leave Newport in some way. Drive into
another area nearby (Belleville, Fort Staunton) and dump the car.
You'll have two minutes to get where you need to be. Drive down to the condo
complex in Newport, then use a Speeder at the piers. Head to the blip on the
radar and use it to follow the Dodo above you.
After the two minutes are up, the plane will proceed to drop six packages in
all, one after the other. With each one, your Wanted level will increase by one
all the way to five stats at max (hey, lucky this didn't happen one mission
later, huh?).
Now, return to the Newport condominium complex piers. Reclimb the stairs and
hope that some kind of uninhabited vehicle is at the top of them. (For if it
is inhabited, it is by the FBI, and you'll be quickly finished.) Anyways,
drive the car to the Newport Pay 'N' Spray to get rid of your Wanted level,
then return to Donald's place to finish the mission and open up Shoreside Vale.
DO THIS MISSION BEFORE COMPLETING THE "Two-Faced Tanner" MISSION FOR ASUKA
KASEN, OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET 100% COMPLETION.
For this mission, get some Sniper Rifle ammo, some Rocket Launcher ammo, and
some M-16 ammo.
Once you start the mission, drive over to Francis International Airport and,
at the designated hangar, you'll notice that the Columbian Cartel have already
found Donald's plane. Crap. From a distance, hit them with the Sniper Rifle or
kill them with the M-16 if they get too close.
Afterwards, get into the Dodo and you'll note how the package is gone. Leave
the hangar and you'll note the vans outside, which have the Pan-Lantic logo on
them. Intriguing... Perhaps they took it to the Pan-Lantic Construction Site in
Fort Staunton?
Get there however you wish. You can risk flying the Dodo if you want, though it
isn't like there's a time limit or anything.
At the construction site, you'll notice it to be somewhat teeming with the
Columbians. Get on the southern hill outside of the walls and use the Rocket
Launcher to get rid of the guards from there; resort to the Sniper Rifle if you
run out of ammo. There are ten guards; note this.
Eventually, you'll have to go into the walled area. From the north side, do so
and keep the M-16 out in case you missed one. Also consider picking up dropped
guns on the way. Eventually, you'll reach a yellow lift.
Take it and you'll ride up to the top, surprising Catalina and her partner,
Miguel. You pull out a gun and end up receiving Donald's package. Catalina
blasts Miguel and uses this diversion to flee. Asuka then arrives, angered over
the death of Kenji and how "the Cartel" did it.
Let's leave Asuka and Miguel alone for a while, right? :)
So return to Donald's place to finish the mission.
This mission, in and of itself, has a simple concept. Protect the designated
Securicar.
But how? After all, you're protecting a slow-moving vehicle all of the way to
Pike Creek, with some heavily armed Columbians on the way.
Well, while writing down the notes for this mission, I accidentally got pushed
too close to the Securicar and ended up starting the Securicar's trail. I did
not really take note of this for a while; having thought I was still stopped, I
went to get a drink.
Then, upon returning, the Securicar was gone. It didn't have all that much
damage done to it, and, after following the trail for a bit, I found it near
the tunnel exit at Francis International. Again, with not a significant amount
damage. Beyond that, I simply got it to somehow move by getting close to it and
it was smooth sailing beyond that, pretty much. There were a few gunmen on the
way, but I drive-byed them.
So, in short, bring some Uzi ammo and wait outside Love Media after the
Securicar goes. Then wait for the game to tell you to look at the end of the
tunnel and do so. Then go along the road past there to Pike Creek and your
destination, shooting at any fool that dares shoot at you.
Trust me, you're going to just LOVE this mission. And that pun was unintended.
You may want to bring some Uzi ammo to this mission. No, you WILL want to bring
it. You may need (or just want to) drive-by some cops and their cars.
Okay, drive your way into Pike Creek, near the AMCO place where you took the
Securicar earlier. Head over to the Securicar in the garage and enter the car.
BOOM! Six-star Wanted level. You are seriously going to be risking Rhinos and
the military here one way or another, so get ready to floor it. Leave this
place and take a right back towards the airport.
When nearby, enter the tunnels nearby. You can wait out the timer by running
around down here. The cops can't really get to you too easily, for it is too
crowded down here. So basically avoid traffic to maintain your speed and car
health and just wait out the timer.
There are two ways to do this mission. One involves a Rhino; the other, a fast
vehicle. Either way, you'll have three minutes to take Ray to Francis
Interational Airport ... and there are heavily-armed CIA agents on the bridge.
RHINO STRATEGY:
This is rather simple. Take your Rhino and use it to drive you and Ray onto the
Lift Bridge. "But there are heavily-armed CIA agents there!!" That may be, but
the Rhino is almost effectively bullet-proof; it'll take a while for them to
hurt you. So drive across the bridge and head into the marker at the airport.
FAST CAR STRATEGY:
For this, you'll need to NOT use the Lift Bridge or you'll die very easily. So,
how to reach Shoreside? You could go through the tunnels, though ending up at
the wrong spot is all too easy. Rather, go into the subway tunnel near Liberty
Campus.
Inside, when you reach the track, turn to the right (head west) and stay on the
left side of the tracks or you'll be flattened faster than if a Rhino had
dropped on your head. Eventually, you'll reach another subway thing. You'll be
at the Francis International subway. Exit and use the marker outside to bring
Ray to his flight.
Either way, once you finish this bit, you'll be given the key to a lock-up in
Newport. This lock-up is south of the Callahan Bridge, near the Tw@ Internet
Cafe. Before arriving, if you're using a Rhino, take it to your hideout.
Once you open it, you'll find your rewards -- an M-16, a Rocket Launcher, a
Sniper Rifle, and a Flamethrower, and a bullet-proof Patriot. You'll also end
the mission and receive $20,000.
DO NOT LET THAT FRIGGIN' BULLET-PROOF PATRIOT GET AWAY FROM YOU. TAKE IT
STRAIGHT TO YOUR HIDEOUT'S GARAGE.
Seriously consider using a fast car (Banshee, FBI Car, Cheetah, Infernus, etc.)
or the bullet-proof Patriot for this mission. No Rhinos or anything overly
destructive. Bring along some Uzi ammo, though, for free weaponry. (I'd only
recommend that for using the bullet-proof Patriot, though.)
Once the mission starts, you are to find the three death squads across
Shoreside and bring them to the ambush in Pike Creek.
Your squads are found in Cochrane Dam, Pike Creek, and Cedar Grove. When you
drive near them, a red dot will quickly appear on the radar, signalling its
location ... and that it is following you. You will need to bring it to the
Yakuza ambush in Pike Creek, marked by the yellow dot.
You are not allowed to get too far ahead, or you fail. If you kill the squad
before arriving at the ambush, you fail. (Hence, no Rhinos.)
Once you bring a squad to the ambush, you're free to use the ramp nearby for a
quick escape and let the Yakuza take them down. However, if you're using the
bullet-proof Patriot, drive-by any that come near you (or even run them over)
and pick up any remaining weapons.
Finish off the three death squads to win. Seems ironic that THEY died.
O================================O
For this mission, I'd recommend a Rhino, the bullet-proof Patriot, or a fast
car in that order. Either way, the general idea is the same; to smash up SPANK
stands across the city by running into them.
The reason for the recommendations is primarily that the guys at these stands
are armed. Not heavily, though the St. Mark's Mafia will do a number on you.
Also note that using the Rhino also requires you fire the cannon while it faces
backwards for a speed boost. You can also use Rockets or Grenades on the
stands, but it may waste time with the aiming and whatnot.
We'll start with Staunton.
-- There is one in the park in Belleville.
-- There is one in front of the building south of the multistory car park in
  Newport.
-- There is one near Liberty Cathedral in Bedford Point.
-- There is one across the street from the 20thC. Building in Bedford Point.
-- There is one near the crystal structure in Torrington.
Now to Portland.
-- Go to Portland Harbor and destroy the one across from the docks.
-- Go to St. Mark's and in front of the small park.
Now, go into the Chinatown subways (if not using a Rhino) to travel to
Shoreside. If you have the Rhino, use the tunnels in Harwood. Be sure not to
arrive at Wichita, though.
I'll assume you're in the vicinity of Francis International.
-- One is right next to the subway entrance of Francis International.
-- One is in front of the Pike Creek hospital.
Finish all nine stands to win this mission.
 Mission Name: S.A.M.
 Rewards:
 -- $45,000
O========================O
Before starting this mission, bring along some Rocket Launcher ammunition. If
you plan on using the Rhino, that's all. If you plan on using the bullet-proof
Patriot or a fast car, also bring some Sniper Rifle ammunition and a bit more
Rocket Launcher ammo.
Note that you really don't do use any of the above except the provided Rocket
Launcher for the standard method. These just seem to be easier. I won't provide
this "standard" strategy, for the others are easier.
Once you start, you'll need to reach a marker buoy near Francis International
in three minutes, thirty seconds and blast a plane from the sky... Or so the
game says. We don't need to be at the marker buoy; just blast that Dodo down.
RHINO STRATEGY:
My favorite. You'll still need to reach the Airport in a decent amount of time,
and really can only take the Lift Bridge to get there. So you'll have to turn
the cannon so it faces behind you and fire for a speed boost. Speed on over to
the airport.
At the northern end of the southbound runway, there are some groups of
Columbians and their Cruisers. Simply run into the cars to finish them. Then
get about halfway down this runway.
Exit the Rhino and aim to the sky, down the runway, where the Dodo will be
coming from. Try to hit the thing as it is at least over the runway or on it
with the Rocket Launcher; personally, I don't like having to use boats for this
thing. Do what you want, though.
After it explodes (and your Wanted level explodes to four), collect the eight
packages and return to your Rhino. Then simply go back to the construction site
the way you came.
FAST CAR / BULLET-PROOF PATRIOT STRATEGY:
For this, you'll want to drive to Francis International as usual. But, at the
airport, you'll want to note the Columbians near the north end of the south
runway.
From a distance, use the Rocket Launcher on their cars to finish at least most
of them off. Use the Sniper Rifle to try and find any survivors and kill them.
Note that you can also simply try to run over the six Cartel members and/or
shoot them, a safe idea for the bullet-proof Patriot.
Then, like before, wait for the Dodo to get on or over the runway before
exploding it with the Rocket Launcher. You'll then get a four-star Wanted
level. Grab the eight packages and you can do one of two things to return to
the construction site.
You can either take the bridge and backtrack, but risk running into cops, or
take the boat at the end of the runway, head east to Staunton, and drive back
from there.
Once you return, you'll automatically receive another "mission".
 -- End of main storyline missions
O=====================================O
Before this mission, I will strongly note some things...
-- You will need $500,000 to start this mission.
-- The strategy strongly relies on having a fast car in your safehouse garage.
  You can use this to speed over to Phil Cassidy's for some Rocket Launcher
  ammo, though I  *STRONGLY*  prefer you have the Rocket Launcher at your
  Shoreside safehouse to make things easier on time.
After the start of the mission and after the cutscene, quickly run to the back
of the mansion to find a garage with Body Armor inside it. Grab it and get into
the Cartel Cruiser. Run over the guards and exit through the front gate.
You'll then notice a helicopter fly overhead towards Cochrane Dam.
After regaining control, go over the small wall nearby, near the lightpost, and
go off the road over the wall. Then head over to your safehouse. If you have
some weaponry here, grab it. Rocket Launcher especially. Also grab some Sniper
Rifle ammo, too.
If not, take the fast car, speed over to Phil's, and spend some cash on the
Rocket Launcher. Trying using the subway tunnels from Francis International to
Liberty Campus. Since you're buying and these regenerate faster (I think), buy
a lot of Rocket Launchers and forget about Sniper Rifles.
Either way, once you're done, head to the Cochrane Dam entrance, which, from
the mansion, go counterclockwise to a dirt path. Simple enough.
Outside the gate, use your Rocket Launcher on the Cartel Cruisers nearby. Get
back in the car and drive forward to the Sniper Rifle icon near the dam's base.
Rocket the two Cartel Cruisers in front of you, then use the Sniper Rifle (or
Rocket Launcher) on some of the Columbians nearby; note the ones atop the side
staircases.
Go forward to the first container crates and Rocket the Barracks OL and use the
Sniper Rifle or Rockets on the Columbians nearby.
Go to the next set of container crates past the Barracks OL. Rocket the next
Barracks OL's and snipe down some remaining guards. Before going forward,
switch to the Rocket Launcher.
Past the second grouping of container crates, you'll watch a scene where
Catalina enters a helicopter. This copter will launch rockets at you, so watch
out. Turn around and go back to the Dam entrance (heh) and turn west. Stop at
the sharp turn.
From here, you have a vantage point, though you're not going to be immune by
any definition of the word. The chopper will go in a circular pattern. As it
moves towards you, preferably, launch Rockets at it. And so, Catalina dies a
"very sad" death.
Note that, from here on out, if you want to go on a random rampaging kind of
thing, now is your chance, for you cannot get a Wanted level now. (Well, you
can't for the whole mission; just that, with the timer now gone, it is more
convenient.)
Once you're done, proceed to the building at the end of the Dam path (heh)
we were taking earlier. Proceed up the next-to-last staircase (the one next to
the wall, not the metal one) and use your Sniper Rifle to get rid of the guards
around Maria. (If you need more ammunition, I think you can go to the Newport
Ammu-Nation and it be okay.)
Afterwards, go up the stairs to Maria for the end cutscene.
To start this mission, you must enter a Taxi, Cabbie, or Borgnine Taxi and
press R3.
The goal of this mission is to find fares, pick up them up, and take them to
their destination as quickly as you can. After dropping them off, you'll get a
bundle of cash. You'll also have a timer to get that fare there; run out of
time and the mission ends.
Additionally, your Taxi cannot get too damaged or your fare will get terrified
and flee. To repair it, head over to a Pay 'N' Spray; you won't be able to pick
up another fare until doing so, and you're still on a timer.
As you begin to rack up the fares, you'll learn that you get bonuses after each
five-fare streak, and bonuses for going to the destination extraordinarily
quickly.
As such, I like to use the Taxi missions to get familiarized with an area.
Since you need 100+ fares (non-consecutive) for the 100% Completion credit, I
distribute them across Portland, Staunton, and Shoreside by going with 30, 30,
and 40 fares, respectively.
Do what you want with that, however. Personally, I do it when I immediately
arrive at the area. Note that going to St. Mark's in Portland will become a
pain later in the game, so you may want to do it now.
The end result from this mission is getting a fair deal of money,
familiarization with your locale, 100% Completion credit at one hundred fares
(no need for consecutiveness), and the Borgnine Taxi will appear in Harwood
near HEAD Radio after making one hundred fares.
There is one glitch that may help you out.
First, enter a Taxi and drive near a vehicle you'd prefer to do this mission
in. I'd recommend using Banshees, Stingers, Cheetahs, Infernuses, the
bullet-proof Patriot, a Rhino, or the Dodo (for fun).
In the Taxi, press AND HOLD R3. Hold it until I say to release it. Press
Triangle to exit the Taxi, then maneuver over to the other vehicle. Press
Triangle to get inside and, once the radio is on for a second or two, release
R3. The Taxi mission should start in this vehicle and be completely usable.
For this mission, you can use any vehicle a cop would use: the Police Car,
Enforcer, FBI Car, or Rhino. I don't really think the Barracks OL used by the
army can be used; even if you can use it, I don't really recommend it. The
Rhino is okay if you plan on using the cannon boost trick (fire the cannon when
it's facing backwards); otherwise, go for the Police/FBI Cars.
Anyways, once you find such a car, press R3 to begin.
Here, you'll have to find the targeted criminal(s) on the radar and kill them.
Simple enough, right?
I doubt it. Not only will you still gain Wanted levels (hint: VIGILANTE), but
these criminals often can be in fast cars or have powerful weaponry (or both).
You can go about killing them a few ways:
-- Run into them or shoot them with the Rhino.
-- Drive-by them to death.
-- Randomly ram into them and hope for something to work.
-- Pause and un-pause the game when near them to make them exit their car. O_o
You'll also be forced to be on a timer. You must kill the criminals in that
amount of time. You must also be in a cop car of some sort and cannot be out of
one for no more than sixty seconds before failing.
You'll get money as you kill criminals and get "streaks" of five, earning you
some bonuses. Additionally, for each ten killed, you'll get a Police Bribe at
your hideout. However, you can only obtain two per island of the game. In other
words, you'll need to kill twenty criminals on Portland, twenty on Staunton,
and twenty on Shoreside to get all six Bribes.
It's time for everyone's favorite mission...
.. if favorite would apply to making you almost destroy controllers in rage.
For this, you'll be limited strictly to an Ambulance. Press R3 to begin.
This mission consists of driving injured people to the hospital. Each person is
marked on the map with a green dot. There are anywhere from one to twelve
people, depending on the level (one for Level 1, two for Level 2, etc.). Stop
by them to pick them up.
You can pick up three at once, so consider this. Try picking them all up rather
than pick up one at a time. (Of course, if you have two on one half of the
island, and four on the other, you'll probably want to pick up the two and then
the four or something.) Picking up a patient will give some time boost, and the
first drop off at a hospital also boosts time.
You'll fail the mission if you run out of time, die, get jacked, or otherwise
leave the Ambulance. If you kill a patient (you cruel person), you fail.
Now, there is a weird bug in this game concerning the rewards based on the
number of patients rescued.
There are essentially two numbers representing this -- the one in the Stats
screen you can see, and the one the game thinks you've rescued and you cannot
usually see. We'll call these X and Y, respectively. The rewards based on
rescues are based on the number the game thinks you have rescued.
Number X is updated whenever you drop off a patient at the hospital; number Y
is only updated when you finish a LEVEL. Perhaps an example is best.
Let's say you go for your first ever paramedic run and, through Level 6, you
do great. Both X and Y equal 21.
But, on Level 7, you drop off six patients at the hospital. As you go for the
seventh one, the FBI Cars on your tail end up squishing the last one, ending
the mission entirely.
Number X goes up 27, while number Y remains at 21. This is because that,
despite having dropped off 27 (X) patients, you never finished the level and
number Y never updated. Hence, this message would appear:
                "Paramedic mission ended. People saved: 21"
In essence, to get the awards accurately, you'll need to either do the whole
paramedic mission in one run through Level 12, or manually keep track. Of
course, you can just keep on trucking until you manage the awards.
So, the awards...
You get money, I think. After finishing Level 12, you'll be able to run forever
without rest. Save 35 patients (number Y above) for a Health icon at your
hideout. Save 70 patients (number Y above) for an Adrenaline icon at your
hideout.
Also note that, once you finish Level 12, you are guaranteed to get all three
rewards anyways. This is because the aforementioned number Y will HAVE to go up
by 78, which exceed the highest needed count of 70.
For this mission, you'll need a Firetruck. Press R3 when inside to begin.
The goal of this mission -- my favorite -- is to put out fires. However, you
are on a time limit; thusly, you must go fast and ram into cars for some
ridiculous things to happen. Once at the fire, press and Circle to shoot some
murky water from the hose; use the Right Analog Stick to aim onto the fire.
You'll fail the mission if you run out of time (thereby making the target car
explode), die, or otherwise leave your car.
The main reward, other than money and mayhem, is the Flamethrower icon at your
hideout. To get it, you'll need to put out twenty fires on Portland, twenty on
Staunton, and twenty on Shoreside.
Marty owns the Bitch 'N' Dog Foog Factory in Trenton, just beside Joey Leone's
place. The phone in front will be ringing from 09:00 to 19:00 daily.
You know, I have a mini-challenge for you. Start these missions at 09:00 and
try end the last one before 19:00. Nothing extra in it besides a lack of
wasted time. After all, these REALLY kind of suck as missions.
Take the designated Perennial and head into Chinatown. Pick up the manager from
the bank and return to the factory.
After making some fresh dog food, take the Perennial over into Harwood and put
it in the crusher.
Take the designated Sentinel and pick up the two thieves from Chinatown. Take
them back into the factory for a fun ol' time.
After the scene, take the Sentinel to a Pay 'N' Spray, then back to the
factory.
Take the designated Esperanto and pick up Marty's wife from the salon in the
Red Light District. Return her to the factory to claim the insurance policy.
Afterwards, ditch the car in the water somewhere. Just go towards the water at
a speed faster than a snail and bail before leaving land to finish.
 Rewards:
 -- $10,000
O=========================O
I recommend a Firetruck for this mission. And not just because it makes this
ridiculously funny at times. (Okay, partly that.)
Anyways, our starting line is at the Old School Hall down in Chinatown. Back
your Firetruck up to the alley near Punk Noodles. Floor it towards the starting
line and smash into one of the Cheetahs at the starting line. Not only will the
race automatically start, but, odds are, you've just sent one car flying ahead
of you like a bat outta hell.
That's good, because the game's AI rarely knows how to deal with THAT. Not to
mention you've possibly also flipped him or, if you went REALLY fast, put him
in that side alley next to the Callahan Bridge and the nearby building. XD
Now, for the race, focus on remaining at top speed and smashing into any fool
racer -- heck, any fool vehicle -- that gets in your way. Just follow the
checkpoints and you'll probably win.
O======================================O
 Mission Name: I Scream, You Scream
 Rewards:
 -- $6,000
O======================================O
When you start this mission, head over to Harwood and pick up the briefcase
with the bomb from Borgnine Taxis near HEAD Radio. Then go to the other dot on
the radar designating a Mr. Whoopee ice cream van. Jack it and head over to
Atlantic Quays.
Here, park into the blue marker and start up the "jeengle jeengle" by pressing
L3. Leave and get a fair distance away, but close enough that you can see what
is happening. When the gang gets close to the van, use the detonator to finish
'em.
O===============================O
 Mission Name: Trial by Fire
 Rewards:
 -- $10,000
 -- Hostility from Triads
O===============================O
After the start of the mission, take a car and head into Chinatown. Near the
China Building, you'll find the Flamethrower. When you grab it, you'll get
infinite Flamethrower ammo and a two minute, thirty second timer to kill
twenty-five Triads.
So, yeah, like a Rampage.
Take your car and drive into the park near the Old School Hall in Chinatown;
the park there usually generates enough Triad flesh to start a decent bonfire.
O=================================O
 Mission Name: Big 'N' Veiny
 Rewards:
 -- $20,000
 -- Allowed retries of Turismo
O=================================O
After the mission starts, get into the van nearby and follow the nearby path of
.. obscenity. Anyways, you'll begin with twenty seconds and get one more
second for each pile of magazines picked up.
Follow the path and you'll reach Portland Harbor eventually. Smash into the
thief to end his existence, then head over to XXX Mags in the Red Light
District to finish.
O================================O
To find this Toyz Van, go in front of Toni and his mom's place in St. Mark's.
Opposite the restaurant, on the other side of the street, in the alley, enter
the Toyz Van.
Basically, you'll be using remote-controlled cars to try and blow up a bunch of
Mafia Sentinels. Park the RC Car near one and let the sparks fly. You have two
minutes to blow up as many as possible.
To find this Toyz Van, go to the northeastern side of the Doorless Apartments
in Hepburn Heights.
Basically, you'll be using remote-controlled cars to try and blow up a bunch of
O====================================O
To find our required vehicle, enter the Patriot in front of the SupaSave in
Portland View.
Here, you'll have collect fifteen checkpoints. After the first one, you'll
have twenty seconds to go to the next one. Afterwards, each checkpoint gives
you an additional twenty seconds.
Begin by going up the stairs behind the SupaSave. We'll start here.
-- Veer right and under the El-Train tracks for one.
-- Go to the beach. Grab the checkpoint on the rocky bit before arriving.
-- Get the one on the beach.
-- Drive up the hill to get behind the apartments; a checkpoint is on the edge.
-- Behind the complexes, go until the next checkpoint is on your right. Get it.
-- Now on the beach, go left to the next one, near the water.
-- Go up the rocky bit to find another checkpoint.
-- Go back to the beach, under the arch, and on the left side for another one.
-- Back on the beach, go left and use the embankment for another checkpoint.
-- Go right, onto the grass, and turn right to your next checkpoint.
-- Head west to the rocky embankment for another checkpoint.
-- Go left at the top and drive uphill to the next checkpoint.
-- Go right at the top to find the next checkpoint.
-- Go behind Salvatore's Mansion and get the checkpoint atop the arch.
-- Back up and turn around to probably see the final one.
                     The Industrial Import/Export Garage
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

At the northern end of Portland Harbor's docks, you'll find a large garage with
a list by the door. This list is of cars; bring them here and put them in the
garage for $1,000 each. Finish the list for an extra $200,000 and unlimited
access to the vehicles via GTA3 logos.

This is the list of the cars:

-- Pony
-- Securicar
-- Rumpo
-- Moonbeam
-- Bus
-- Coach
-- Dodo
-- Flatbed
-- Bobcat
-- Linerunner
-- Yankee
-- Trashmaster
-- Mule
-- Patriot
-- Blista
-- Mr. Whoopee

                         The Emergency Vehicle Crane
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Near the Industrial Import/Export Garage, closer to the large ship, you'll find
the Emergency Vehicle Crane. Here, you'll have to bring the seven emergency
vehicles to the yellow-marked area, exit, and the crane will pick up the car.
You'll get $1,500 per car, and a $200,000 bonus upon finishing. Plus, once you
finish, you'll have unlimited access to the vehicles via GTA3 icons. That
includes the legendary Rhino.
Here are the cars:
-- Police Car
-- Enforcer
-- FBI Car
-- Barracks OL
-- Rhino
-- Ambulance
-- Firetruck
I'd prefer to use either a fast car, or, like with Turismo, a Firetruck.
Basically, get to the starting line near the Coliseum in Aspatria and, once the
race starts, floor it. You probably won't get the first checkpoint or two, but
you'll also get up to full speed quickly enough so that you can knock over any
fool racer that gets in your way (if you're using the Firetruck).
By the way, to win, all you need to do is collect the most checkpoints. There
are fifteen and they pop up in a somewhat-decent order. Get eight for
I also note that you can use the Rhino here, if you're that far ahead, to
Pretty simple mission. You have to grab three gang cars -- the Mafia Sentinel,
the Diablo Stallion, and the Yakuza Stinger -- and bring them into the garage
in Newport.
They also have to be in mint condition. So I suggest saving them in your
Staunton garage by using the quaint overfilling trick, then you can bring them
over easier.
If you can't, note that you still can use either the hideout garage or the
nearer Pay 'N' Spray to re-mint the car.
The Mafia Stallion can be found around St. Marks; some are parked in front of
Toni's place and Salvatore's mansion.
The Diablo Stallion is found roaming around Hepburn Heights.
The Yakuza Stinger is found roaming around Torrington. Some are parked at
Kenji's Casino and the Newport condominium complex.
Bring all three cars to the Newport garage to finish.
Bring some Rocket Launcher ammunition and Body Armor to this mission. A Rhino
isn't too bad an idea, either...
Once the mission starts, head to the parking lot behind the Liberty Tree
complex in Bedford Point. Destroy any vans nearby (trust me, you'll know why
shortly), and enter the Stinger nearby.
Now, from this point onward, you'll be bombarded -- pardon the pun -- by
SPANK'ed-up madmen coming endlessly from various vans. These people are madmen
in that they are SUICIDE BOMBERS AIMED FOR YOU.
One of the vans was the one we earlier destroyed.
Now, three others are soon on their way. I seriously recommend the Rhino, for
the suicide bombers don't really affect it well enough. If not, you'll need to
find the vans and destroy them. Hence, the Rocket Launcher.
Get to work ... and good luck. I found this to be the hardest mission in the
whole game. >_>
For this mission, I recommend one of two vehicles. The first one is the
bullet-proof Patriot (you can use a fast car, instead); the second is the
Rhino. For the former, get some Uzi ammunition.
For this mission, you are to hit twenty Purple Nines via drive-by. Thusly, if
you are using the bullet-proof Patriot or a fast car, you'll need some Uzi
ammunition. Then just go around and find and kill them.
The Rhino, however, has another way to play. Use the cannon and any Purple
Nine kills count towards the twenty; this includes those in the cars.
Sort of. Go into the parking lot behind your hideout to find the required Toyz
Van. In essence, you'll have to find three designated vans and destroy them.
Another difference is that you'll have no time limit, but be limited to four
RC cars. So don't screw up.
O================================O
 Mission Name: Rigged to Blow
 Rewards:
 -- $20,000
O================================O
Once this mission begins, you'll have six minutes to take the designated
Infernus, found in the parking lot behind your hideout, to a garage in St.
Mark's. Like with the "Blow Fish" mission for Toni Cipriani, too many bumps
will cause it to blow up and kill you. Cool.
So, quickly head over to one of the Porter Tunnel entrances (one is in Wichita
Gardens; the other near Francis International) and drive into Portland.
When you exit, you'll be in Harwood. Head into St. Mark's ... and don't worry
about the Mafia and their Shotguns; they've apparently decided to give you the
cold shoulder. So drive into the garage, go back to Shoreside however you wish,
then repair the Infernus at a Pay 'N' Spray. Carefully park it where designated
(where you started) to finish. (It will have to be in mint condition.)
O=============================O
 Mission Name: Bullion Run
 Rewards:
 -- $25,000
O=============================O
Before starting the mission, get a Hoods Rumpo XL and bring it with you. Bring
some Uzi ammunition, too.
Once you start, head to the phone to start. You'll have six minutes to pick up
thirty pieces of the platinum from the plane crash and take it to the garage.
The platinum is scattered around Pike Creek.
As you pick more and more up, you'll get a Wanted level. Be careful and be
ready to do a drive-by at any second. Especially given that the platinum will
slow down the van, so be sure to drop some off at the garage with each five to
ten pieces grabbed.
Once you deliver thirty pieces, you're finished.
O========================O
 Mission Name: Rumble
 Rewards:
 -- $10,000
O========================O
Once the mission starts, head over to your hideout to pick up D-Ice brother,
then go over to the Staunton View picnic area. Exit your vehicle, stand in one
place, and hold the Attack button to continually swing your bat.
Not an elegant strategy, but effective. Bring some Body Armor in case you do
get screwed over.
You'll win once the Purple Nines are gone.
O===============================O
 Mission Name: Rumpo Rampage
 Rewards:
 -- $1,000 per destroyed car
O===============================O
To find this Toyz Van, go northeast of your Shoreside hideout and behind the
billboards.
Basically, you'll be using remote-controlled cars to try and blow up a bunch of
Hoods Rumpo XL's. Park the RC Car near one and let the sparks fly. You have two
minutes to blow up as many as possible.
O==========================O
 Mission Name: Gripped!
 Rewards:
 -- $40,000
O==========================O
To find the required Patriot, go to the parking lot at the Staunton View
picnic area.
Here, you'll have to find twenty checkpoints. For each one picked up, you will
get an additional fifteen seconds to find the next one. You'll start with
unlimited time to get one.
-- Go left to one checkpoint.
-- The next checkpoint is on a small hill. Try to get it from the left.
-- Behind that one is the next checkpoint.
-- Go right to see two more; go left and forward to the next checkpoint.
-- Back up and go right and forward to the next checkpoint.
-- At the top of the hill, go right to the next checkpoint.
-- Back up, turn around, and go forward to the next checkpoint.
-- Go right to the street and follow to the next checkpoint.
-- Go along the street and go between the final tree and the tunnel and uphill
  to the next checkpoint.
-- Go on over to the next three checkpoints.
-- After the last one there, go left and downhill; brake slightly to more
  easily reach the next checkpoint.
-- Go right and make the next one be to your left, then behind you. Go downhill
  backwards to hopefully reach it.
-- Once you do, accelerate and go straight to the next checkpoint.
-- Go left and back down to the next checkpoint.
-- Go right and straight up the hill to the next checkpoint.
-- Go downhill to the next checkpoint.Use BOTH brakes to maintain control.
-- Go right to the next checkpoint.
-- The final one is atop the western entrance of the Upstate Tunnel, on the
  right side and out of view. Look at the left see of the tunnel top and line
  up with it. Go on down to get the final checkpoint.
