I. Introduction
This FAQ describes everything about the elemental powers and creatures found in
Azurik: Rise of Perathia. However, if you see any false information, or you want
to add anything, please e-mail me at
[email protected] with Azurik
FAQ as the subject.
II. Mastering the Elements
Before we explore the different elemental powers, you must learn how to activate
them. Hold the L trigger and press the desired combination of the A, B, Y, and
X buttons. Release the L trigger and the power will activate. If you do not have
enough elemental fuel, it will not activate.
III. Elemental Powers
There are two types of elemental powers: Axion, which adds an elemental
power to your Axion, and Shield, which creates a shield around you for protection
and/or other uses.
Press button(s): Power name- Description of power
Nothing: Normal Axion/No Shield- If you have an Axion and/or Shield power currently
activated, this will deactivate one of the two. The normal Axion does not do much
damage, and with no Shield you will take normal damage.
X: Water Power- This will add a water power to the Axion. Blaze Sentinels and
Bots fall quickly to water power.
B: Fire Shield- The fire shield does not protect you from damage, but gives off
a massive amount of light. Use this power in dark areas.
Y: Jump Shield- The jump shield is a very useful power. It does not protect you
from damage, but will give you an extra boost while jumping, which is great (and
sometimes necessary) for large gaps. Level 1 Air gives you 1 boost, level 2 gives
you 2, and level 3 gives you 5.
A: Earth Shield- The earth shield will protect you from most attacks, and is best
used against Earth creatures.
X, B: Steam Power- This will add a steam power to the Axion. Not only is steam
power very effective against Sleeths and Blue Overlords, but it can also be used
to melt ice barriers.
X, A: Acid Power- This will add an acid power to the Axion. Acid power is most
effective against Taculas and Harvesters, and can also be used to corrode rock
barriers.
A, Y: Ice Shield- The ice shield won't protect you from lava but it still protects
you from attacks and is most effective against fire creatures.
A, B: Lava Power- This will give your Axion a fire power. Although it's best used
against Water Elementals and Ice Shard Monsters, it does well against every other
creature (except fire creatures).
Y, B: Electric Shield- The electric shield has two extra uses. Like most shields,
it protects you from attacks, but it will also completely protect you from the
electrical attacks of Telsa Trees. It can also be used to pass electric barriers.
Y, A: Whirlwind Power- This will give your Axion a whirlwind power. It is best
used against Golems (with Blue Overlords in them), angry Norehts, and Deluvian
Stalkers.
X, Y, B: Lightning Power- This will give your Axion a lightning power. At higher
levels, it does a lot of damage, and is best used against Catalisks and Golems.
Y, X, A: Ice Power- This will add an ice power to your Axion. It doesn't do any
more damage than the normal Axion, but it will freeze creatures for about eight
seconds, allowing you to get by quickly.
X, A, B: Smash Shield- Similar to the earth shield, the smash shield will protect
you from most attacks, and is most effective against earth creatures.
Y, B, A: Smash Power- This will add a smash power to your Axion. Smash power is
best used against Rock Shard Monsters and Gargoyles. The best thing about this
power is that only one creature is immune to it: Golems.
A, B, X, Y: Elemental Burst- The most powerful weapon, the elemental burst spreads
in a 360 degree radius from you and does major damage to any creature it touches.
At higher levels, it spreads farther and will do more damage. However, it costs
a large amount of elemental fuel. Note that this is best used when surrounded
by enemies, and should be used as a last resort.
