3. Introduction / Credits
******************************************************************************
Introduction ...
I recently bought Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner because I'd heard from
a good friend of how well it was put together. He would constantly show me
reviews on GameFAQs and score on Gamespot.com, and I could easily say I was
impressed, but unsure if the game would be for me.
I can now safely say the game is a great one. I absolutely loved the game,
and since I'd bought it, I played it nonstop for hours and hours. No matter
how many times I would die, I kept starting over. I was addicted!
This is my first FAQ, so please excuse it if it seems excessive or weird or
anything. If you like it, have suggestions, comments, ANYTHING, please feel
free to email me at the address at the top of the FAQ.
This guide was made using the North American version of the game - any other
versions may be completely different. If you're playing the PAL version of
the game, there are supposedly lots of changes to it that invalidate some of
my FAQ. If you're playing that version, I suggest checking the "Additional
Help" section for other sources. My FAQ simply can't help on some parts of
the PAL release.
Also, if you need to contact me, I'm always online on AOL Instant Messenger.
If I'm not, my power is out. If I'm on and don't respond, try again later
because I never put up my away message. I sit idle a lot.
If you need to locate a particular section of the FAQ, use "CTRL+F" in your
browser to open the "Find" Window. Type the section number (hence, 5.4 for
Controls > Subweapons) and click "Find Next." You will jump to the next
instance of the section number and be at the section you needed to find.
Section numbers are listed in the table of contents below.
Credit goes to ...
Invader Zorka: he's the one who got me interested in the game in the first
place. not only that, but he helped me put together the
EX-MISSION FILE section since I'd forgotten where most of
them were.
Konami: for making a great game!
You: for putting your trust in me, and using my guide~!

5. Controls
******************************************************************************
You will control a large mechanical war machine in ZOE2, known as an Orbital
Frame, aka OF. The controls are very easy to use, and are surprisingly
simple for such a vast array of things you can do. Konami did an amazing
job, allowing you to use many different abilities with only a limited number
of controls.
The following will explain how to control Jehuty, your Orbital Frame.
================
5.1 Movement
================
The Left Analog stick will allow you to move forward and backwards, by
pressing it up and down, respectively. Pressing to the left and right of
the Left Analog stick will cause Jehuty to move to that side, in that
particular direction.
The Right Analog stick will allow Jehuty to TURN the way it is facing. You
can press the Right Analog Stick upwards to look down, and pressing it down
will allow you to look up. Pressing it left or right will let you look in
the direction. Using this feature can help you to aim better, without using
Lock-On.
To ascend in the air, you will need to press the TRIANGLE button, and to
descend, you should press the X button. You may also use the Right Analog
stick and the Left in unison to go up and down, but the TRIANGLE and X
buttons are much easier to use.
==========================
5.2 Close Range Combat
==========================
Pressing the SQUARE button while you are close to an enemy will allow you to
use the SLASH attacks on the enemy. You may do combos with up to four hits,
and the final blow in each will cause a different combo. The following
should help to explain.
Square + Square + Square + Triangle = A three combo hit, ending with an
upward attack that sends the target
flying upwards.
Square + Square + Square + Square = A three combo hit, ending with a
forward thrust that will send the
target flying backwards.
Square + Square + Square + X = A three combo hit, ending with a
downward slice that sends the target
flying downwards.
Hitting the enemy backwards, upwards, or downwards can be effective. You
may hit them into a wall, ceiling, or the ground, to cause additional
damage.
You can also use the DASH-SLASH combo, which will be discussed under the
DASH section.
=========================
5.3 Long Range Combat
=========================
When you are far away from the target, press the SQUARE button to fire a
SHOT at the target. Holding this button will fire more SHOTs towards the
target, but it can be evaded fairly easily by the target.
You can also use the HOMING LASERs, which will be discussed under the
DASH section.
==================
5.4 Subweapons
==================
Hold the L1 button to open a small menu of which SUBWEAPONs you currently
have. Select from this menu using the Left Analog Stick, and then let go
of the L1 button to close this menu. You may also select the SUBWEAPON in
battle by pressing up and down on the D-PAD. Using L1 will pause the game,
while the D-PAD will not.
Pressing the L1 button once will toggle between the default SUBWEAPON, GRAB,
and the last one you selected from the menu. Use this for quick switching
between two SUBWEAPONs.
You can also use the L3 button to switch to a SUBWEAPON suggested by ADA.
This will be discussed in further detail in the Miscellaneous section.
To actually use a SUBWEAPON, you must press the CIRCLE button. Depending on
the weapon, how you press the button can determine how you use the weapon.
See the SUBWEAPONs section for more information on particular SUBWEAPONs.
============
5.5 Dash
============
Pressing the R2 button while moving will cause you to DASH. You can also
hold it down to continue DASHing, but often repeated pressing of the R2
button will give you large bursts of speed.
While you are using DASH, the SQUARE button takes on different functions, in
DASH Combos.
While using DASH in close range, the SQUARE button will do a DASH-SLASH
combo. This can be very useful with enemies who are using guard frequently.
The DASH-SLASH combo performs a quick thrust of the Melee weapons at the
target.
While using DASH at long range, the SQUARE button will use your HOMING
LASERs. Hold down the SQUARE button and small green circles will come over
multiple targets. When you are ready to fire at these targets, let go of
the SQUARE button to fire your HOMING LASERs. If anything comes between you
and the target, the HOMING LASERs will hit that object.
=============
5.6 Burst
=============
Holding the R2 button while Jehuty is NOT moving will cause you to charge
energy for a BURST attack. If you are holding an enemy, this will restrain
them from escape; if it is an ally you are holding, it will restore their
health.
The BURST charge can be used in both long and close range combat, as well.
In close range, charge with R2, then press the SQUARE button and you will
do a BURST-SLASH. This is not very useful because you are often in fast
paced battle when you are in close-range combat. However, it is useful in
boss battles, it can penetrate shields. I mostly used it in EX-MISSIONs.
In long range, charge with R2, then hold the SQUARE button and you will
charge a BURST Attack. The longer you hold the SQUARE button, the more
powerful the attack will be. Let go of the SQUARE button to fire it.
=============
5.7 Guard
=============
The R1 button will put up a force-field guarding move that will guard up
against mild attacks. Stronger attacks can penetrate this sheild, so it is
not completely reliable. Also, if you are hit by some Missiles, they may
potentially eat away some of your SUBGAUGE while you are using GUARD.
===============
5.8 Lock-On
===============
The Lock-On feature makes this game way easier. It will automatically
target an enemy, then all attacks performed will be directed towards that
target. You can switch between targets on the screen by pressing the L2
button.
To turn off the Lock-On feature, hold down the L2 button for a few seconds.
You can target not only enemies, but GRAB items, METATRON, SUBGAUGE, and
allies. Use this to your advantage in battle.
=========================
5.9 Responding to ADA
=========================
This feature is primarily for fun, but it can be affective in battle, as
well. Periodically, ADA will comment in the game. You can respond to
ANYTHING she says while you're in control by pressing the L3 or R3 buttons.
The L3 button is used by pressing the Left Analog Stick INWARDS (like a
button) and the R3 is the same, with the Right Analog Stick.
The L3 button will respond to ADA in a positive way, while the R3 will
respond with negative comments, like this:
ADA: "Enemy Orbital Frames approaching."
L3 Response: "Let's do it!"
R3 Response: "Why me?"
Responding to ADA's comments can also be effective by letting you switch to
the SUBWEAPONs she suggests. This would be an example:
ADA: "I suggest using PHALANX."
L3 Response: "Okay. Switch to PHALANX for me."
This will automatically switch the selected SUBWEAPON to
PHALANX.
R3 Response: "I'll take care of it on my own."
This will keep the currently selected SUBWEAPON.
By the way, those aren't exact quotes.

6. Walkthrough (Spoiler-Free)
******************************************************************************
================
6.1 Callisto
================
You'll start off the game in a Mining LEV; don't worry, you won't be in it
for very long. Use the Triangle button to boost upwards then the R2 button
to move forwards, and you'll make your way through, following the direction
direction of the arrow.
When you reach the step-like structure, climb over it and let yourself fall
into the big crater on the other side, then you'll have a CUTSCENE.
Once you're back in control, you'll have Jehuty, and you can beging to
really play. Use the square button to SLASH and use your SHOT. You should
be able to kill the two RAPTORs in this area fairly easily with just these;
after you defeat them, there will be another CUTSCENE and you will be
allowed to train a little with VR TRAINING. If it's your first time playing
Zone of the Enders, I would suggest spending some time there learning all
the ins & outs of the game before proceeding.
After you think you're ready to move on, you'll encounter some MOSQUITOs.
ADA will tell you to use your HOMING LASER to kill them; do so. You'll see
another CUTSCENE, and then a few enemies will come at you. There will be a
few RAPTORs among the MOSQUITOs as well, kill them however you like, and
continue to follow along the general path as the arrow tells you to. You
should pass through two sections before you see another CUTSCENE, then have
to fight some more MOSQUITOs and a few RAPTORs. Another CUTSCENE will
happen and there will be two more RAPTORs.
Eventually, you will reach a dead end, and you'll see another CUTSCENE,
where ADA tells you how to perform a BURST attack. You'll notice a crack
in the wall before you, go ahead and charge up a BURST attack then fire at
the wall. It will shatter, and you'll be allowed to enter a new area, and
you'll see a CUTSCENE, and have your first boss fight.
----------
| Ardjet \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Ken Marinaris
--------------------------------------------------------
This isn't a very difficult boss once you're used to
the controls in the game. Ardjet is invulnerable to
attack most of the battle; the targetting icon will
turn purple when you can hit her.
Avoid her attacks, and when she uses Wisps, use your
homing lasers to take them out quickly. Once you've
destroyed all of them, Ardjet will finally let down
it's guard and you can attack. Melee works best.
Halfway through the fight she will begin to charge a
beam and shoot it at you; dash to avoid it. Now you
can fire at her, as she lets her guard down again.
Keep it up and she'll be done quickly.
--------------------------------------------------------
===================
6.2 BAHRAM Ship
===================
After some more CUTSCENES, you'll be inside the BAHRAM ship that was flying
overhead as you discovered Jehuty. In the first room, you'll have to fight
some SPIDERs as well as some RAPTORs. When entering the next room, ADA will
open the VR TRAINING for using GRAB. If you don't know how to GRAB yet,
take this time to learn, because you'll be needing to use it soon.
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: GRAB
--------------------------------------------------------
You start the game with the SUBWEAPON GRAB, and it is
useful throughout. By equipping it and pressing the
Circle button, you can grab enemies or objects.
Press the Square button while holding them to use them
as weapons, and the Circle button will let you discard
them, by throwing them at other enemies (or a wall).
You will use this quite a bit in BOSS battles, and it
can be fun in regular battle, but it's often faster to
use regular attacks.
The GRAB SUBWEAPON does not use any of your SUBGAUGE.
--------------------------------------------------------
Once you've mastered how to use GRAB, you will be in a room with a CELLAR
which lets out MOSQUITOs. Until you destroy the CELLAR, it will continue
to spit out enemies. If you feel like leveling up, do so, but it isn't
really necessary to do that at all in this game. Just hit the CELLAR while
it's open for the most damage, then kill off the MOSQUITOs in the room.
Go into the next room whenever you're ready.
You'll encounter another CELLAR, some RAPTORs, and a new enemy, the
MUMMYHEAD. Get used to this one, you'll see it a lot. Kill whatever you
like, but remember that the CELLAR will keep spitting out new enemies until
you destroy it. If you can't find it, it's on the floor beneath the door
to the next room.
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
Before going into the next room, return to the one
just before it, in the room where you learned how to
GRAB. There should be an EX-MISSION FILE floating in
there. Go ahead and get it, then continue on through
the third room, and out the door.
--------------------------------------------------------
You will be outside and will view a brief CUTSCENE before regaining control
again. Make your way into the next room, and be prepared, because when you
approach the opposite door, you'll be forced into the next boss fight.
-----------
| Nephtis \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Viola AI
--------------------------------------------------------
This fight is even easier than Ardjet. ADA will tell
you to use a physical attack to break the sheilding
that Nephtis is using; use subweapon GRAB to pick up
one of the many steel beams standing vertically upon
the walls. Throw these steel beams at Nephtis once
she's stopped dashing around everywhere, and you'll
take off a small amount of health.
Hit her with three steel beams and you'll be done.
--------------------------------------------------------
After you defeat Nephtis, you can go gawk at it or whatever, then continue
into the next room as the arrow is pointing. It won't be long before you're
in your next "boss" fight.
----------
| Anubis \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Nohman
--------------------------------------------------------
This one's impossible to beat; you can try if you'd
like, but eventually, Anubis will win. However, you
can still take off a small portion of his life bar.
--------------------------------------------------------
Once this fight is over, there will be some CUTSCENES that take a long time.
You'll end up in the next level once you've finished watching them all.
======================
6.3 Deimos Station
======================
Go through the nearby door, view a CUTSCENE. Turn left and go down the
large hall; as you're halfway through, you'll get another CUTSCENE and a new
mission to accomplish. Press START and select MISSION to find out what it
is. Remember this for any point of the game if you get lost or don't
remember what you're supposed to do.
You have to find Taper, who is hiding in a cargo crate somewhere in Cargo
Bay A, B, or C. Cargo Bay A is the closest, so go there first. As you
enter, Taper will tell you a random clue about which box he is hiding in.
You can see the boxes to your right and left inside of the Cargo Bays.
When you think you've found the crate he is in, shoot NEXT to it and you
should hear him scream like a little girl. Shoot the crate ONCE and you'll
see a CUTSCENE that will continue on with the game. If you shoot the wrong
crate, all the crates will move to a new room, and you'll have to venture
to another Cargo Bay (Or Warehouse as Taper calls them) to find him. Each
time you enter a new Warehouse, he will give you a new clue, so make a
mental note of them until you find him. Sometimes this can take a while.
Be forewarned that everytime you enter the hallways, they will refill with
enemies. Just kill them quickly or head to the next room, whatever.
BEWARE! If you shoot the crates too hard, and Taper is inside of it, you
will kill him and get a GAME OVER. The game tallies this up for your
overall ranking in the end, so if you care about that, watch out.
-----------------
--|| Submissions ||-------------------------------------
-----------------
I've had a lot of user submissions on this part, so
I decided to finally add them in. Here goes:

| + Laharl (
[email protected]) confirms that |
you can get to the next cutscene by shooting near
but not ON the crate Taper is in.

| + Hell's Blaze (
[email protected]) states that if |
you fly under Taper's container, press your head
on the bottom and face the opposite wall, when you
shoot, you will get Taper without any problems.

| + From PenWhale (
[email protected]): |
"The easiest way to do it is to target the bottom
of the crate and aim a little bit lower. Since the
WISPs fire in a triangular formation, this way only
the top WISP will hit the crate."
--------------------------------------------------------
When you find Taper, you'll get a CUTSCENE and afterwards you get to babysit
Taper in his LEV. If you press START and look at the map, the exit of this
level is in the upper right corner, so that's where you need to go. Take
this opportunity to get familiar with the map. Blue triangles are METATRONs,
which will restore your NRG and SUB bars.
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: GEYSER
--------------------------------------------------------
Upon saving Taper, you'll receive the GEYSER SUBWEAPON
which will be useful throughout the game.
After equipping it and pressing the Circle button, you
will be able to immobilize nearby enemies. Pressing
the button in lightly will cause it to be thrown over
a group of enemies, while pressing it hard will throw
it more precise, towards a single enemy.
While enemies are immobilized, they cannot move or put
up a guard, so you can kill them easily.
--------------------------------------------------------
To get out of here, you'll need to use GRAB on Taper; you can lock onto him
if you like. When travelling through the halls, you'll encounter enemies
who will try to hurt Taper - you will notice he has a life bar on the top of
the screen. When you enter a room with enemies, drop him, kill the enemies,
then GRAB him again. If his health begins to get low, hold R2 while holding
him, and you will slowly restore his health.
I went ahead and drew up this crude map. It only shows where you can travel,
none of the other rooms.

Whether you're in A, B, or C, I'd say your best bet is to go over to room B,
where you can get some METATRON to restore yourself, should you need it.
Head out the door and into the far right hallway on the map, where you'll
encounter some CYCLOPs enemies. You will also notice a box pop up by them
when you target them that says "KEY." This means to unlock the next door,
you will have to kill that particular enemies. There are two of them in
here I believe. Kill them both, as well as the RAPTORs, GRAB Taper, cure
him if needed, then head into Warehouse F.
--\\ NOTE \\----------------------------------------------
If you don't really like Taper and would like to hear
his terrified screams, you can use GRAB on him and use
him as a weapon with the Square button. It will take
his life down, but you can always restore it by chaging
up a BURST (hold R2 while standing still).
----------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, inside Warehouse F, there are some MOSQUITO-like enemies and a few
lasers, just fly around them all and use the HOMING LASERS to destroy them
all. Pick up Taper again and go into the hallway, and kill some KEY enemies
including a CELLAR, then go forward. If you need to, go into room D to
collect a METATRON (there are enemies there), but if you don't, that's cool,
head into room G. Kill the enemies there, GRAB Taper, then head into the
final hallway. You'll see a CUTSCENE, and Taper will be gone.
A group of RAPTORs will appear, and ADA will brief on what a COMMANDER type
enemy is. They can form a party with other like-enemies (a Party of RAPTORs
in this case) and will power each other up. When you run into groups with
COMMANDERs, they should be your first priority because they can be tough.
I had trouble in this part my first time through, but what you need to do
is set GEYSER as your SUBWEAPON, then lightly press the Circle button as you
have them targeted. Pressing the button lightly will cause you to throw
GEYSER in a broad fashion, hopefully covering most of the enemies. Kill
them after they are immobilized, the COMMANDER first if possible.
Once you kill this group, a second group of RAPTORs will appear. The same
tactics apply, but these start out spread apart so you may have to GEYSER
one at a time and pick them off slowly. Just keep at it and eventually
you'll beat them and see a CUTSCENE.
====================
6.4 Margaritifer
====================
You are now on Mars. After a CUTSCENE or two, you'll be put into a boss
battle.
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
While fighting Vic Viper, you can destroy a nearby
rock formation above the entrance to CAPRI CANYON to
get an EX-MISSION FILE. However, you will need to be
on your second game, having selected "Equip." You'll
have to use the WISP SUBWEAPON to grab it.
--------------------------------------------------------
-------------
| Vic Viper \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Leo Stenbuck
--------------------------------------------------------
This isn't as difficult as you may think it is, and
shouldn't take as long as it did for me. You should
use Homing Lasers on him when he's far away; if they
can catch up, they'll do damage.
When Leo does a Ripple Attack, sometimes you can sit
still and the rings will go around you. At this time
you can quickly charge a BURST attack and take off a
significant amount of life.
When Leo comes into his OF form, he'll charge at you
with a Melee attack; use R1 to defend when he does
it. After he does a rapid punching attack, you can
throw in a few slashes for significant damage.
Keep repeating this and eventually you'll win.
--------------------------------------------------------
You'll see a CUTSCENE, and then you'll regain control.
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: GAUNTLET
--------------------------------------------------------
By equipping GAUNTLET and pressing the Circle button,
you can cause minimal damage by piercing the enemy's
guard. The real benefit of this SUBWEAPON is the fact
that it repels targets; this can repel the target into
nearby walls for even more damage. In small spaces,
GAUNTLET is very effective.
--------------------------------------------------------
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
Near the METATRON ADA tells you to get, there is yet
another rock formation that can be destroyed to get
an EX-MISSION FILE.
--------------------------------------------------------
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
Between CAPRI CANYON and the METATRON is another rock
formation containing an EX-MISSION FILE. Destroy it
to access the file.
--------------------------------------------------------
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
Beneath the bridge with the wrecked train on it, you
can easily spot an EX-MISSION FILE. Just fly over
there and pick it up.
--------------------------------------------------------
Now, go collect the METATRON as ADA instructed you. A few NARITAs will
appear. These new enemies can be pretty annoying because they tend to block
against your attacks ALL the time. If you're having trouble, you can either
DASH-SLASH towards them, or use GAUNTLET as ADA will tell you.
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
After killing a few of the NARITAs, ADA will say to
you, "Estimated combat time 90 seconds." Press L3
(the left analog stick) and Dingo will respond to her
with some comment. A timer will appear in the top
corner, starting at 1 minute, 30 seconds. Kill all
of the NARITAs in the time limit, and ADA will praise
you; an EX-MISSION FILE will appear over the entrance
| to CAPRI CANYON.
--------------------------------------------------------
--\\ NOTE \\--------------------------------------------
Any time you hear ADA say something while you're in
control of Jehuty, you can press in L3 and R3 (left
and right analog sticks) to get Dingo's responses. If
you press L3, you get positive responses, R3 is for a
negative response. Some of them are comical, while
others will switch you to a SUBWEAPON that ADA may
have suggested.
--------------------------------------------------------
Go ahead and enter CAPRI CANYON.
In the next area, you will need to destroy two locks in order to open up the
main gate that is in the center. If this sounds confusing, look at your
map. There are two things designated as "PROTECTIVE LOCK" which are on
opposite sides of the map. Destroying these will open the gate in the
center that is designated on the map as a big red "LOCKED."
You can go to either one of the locks first, but I went to the one on the
left first. On the way you'll have to unlock mini-gates by destroying KEY
type enemies. To unlock the first, you must destroy some RAPTORs and
MOSQUITOs that are flying around. Go through to the next part and destroy
the three lasers on the wall from the doorway, they won't even attack you.
In here you will need to kill off some more KEY type enemies, both
MUMMYHEADs and RAPTORs. It should not be very difficult, just use HOMING
MISSLES and SLASH attacks. If you need to, use GAUNTLET or GEYSER as well.
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
When you come upon an intersection, take the far left
path and eventually you'll end up near a METATRON. If
you look just past it, there is an EX-MISSION FILE on
the ground nearby. Pick it up.
--------------------------------------------------------
-----------
--(( VS MECH ))-----------------------------------------
-----------
If you're playing through the game your second time
through, there is a VS MECH you can unlock just past
the area where you got the last EX-MISSION FILE. If
you didn't notice it already, there is a large wall
of fallen boulders nearby. If you started the game
using the "EQUIP" feature, you should already have
all the SUBWEAPONs when you start the game. Use the
VECTOR CANNON on the wall of boulders to open up the
new path. Enter either of the two tunnels, and you
will be inside an air duct. Kill the enemies that
appear if you want, or just continue on into the next
area.
You will now be at a Power Plant; Aumaan Anubis will
appear. With all your SUBWEAPONs, he's a breeze, and
when he's defeated, the "VS MECH" icon will appear.
Fly into it to collect it, and you'll be transported
straight to the next BOSS battle.
--------------------------------------------------------
Anyway! If you're still on the first time through the game, head back to
the most recent fork in the path, and go up (according to the map) towards
the PROTECTIVE LOCK. You will need to fight some MOSQUITOs, RAPTORs, and
MUMMYHEADs along the way to the next mini-gate. Pass into it to the next
part, you'll fight RAPTORs, MUMMYHEADs, and CYCLOPs here. Also, don't
think the enemies will stop! There is a CELLAR at the end here, so rush
through and kill everything then take the CELLAR out. The door will open
and you can now access the PROTECTIVE LOCK, which is actually a large silo
looking thing. Shoot it twice to destroy it.
You will get a short scene with ADA before some CYCLOPs will appear along
with a COMMANDER type. Target the COMMANDER and use GAUNTLET on it until
it's dead, and it won't get the chance to form a party with the others.
Destroy the rest, and depending on what difficulty you are playing another
group may appear. Repeat the process until the mini-gate unlocks again and
you can leave.
Head back the way you came, all the way back to the fork in the road where
you can view the LOCKED gate. Going to the right side now, there are more
KEY type RAPTORs and MUMMYHEADs. Kill them and go through the first
mini-gate. This area is large, you will find many MUMMYHEADs and MOSQUITOs
inside here. Kill them and when you reach the mini-gate, you'll need to
kill some KEY type enemies to get through. Head through the next mini-gate.
This area is very small. In it you will find CYCLOPs, RAPTORs, MUMMYHEADs,
and a CELLAR. I would suggest killing everything except the RAPTORs, then
taking out the CELLAR, then the remaining RAPTORs. Use GAUNTLET if you need
to, ADA will say something about the topography, she is referring to
GAUNTLET's ability to throw enemies into walls.
You'll be at the next PROTECTIVE LOCK. Destroy it, then a group of
MUMMYHEADs will appear, with COMMANDERs. You'll probably need to press L2
to change to the COMMANDER type. Go ahead and use GAUNTLET on it repeatedly
like you did with the CYCLOPs, and then just take out all the rest. If
you're on higher difficulties you may have to fight another group, I'm not
sure.
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: PHALANX
--------------------------------------------------------
PHALANX is a rapid fire SUBWEAPON. When equipped, it
will fire numerous rapid fire shots through the area.
Pressing the Circle button hard will cause a direct
shot towards one target, while lightly pressing it
causes a broad range of fire.
This is best used in large crowds of enemies, such as
MOSQUITOs, to take down a lot of them quickly when you
are surrounded by them.
--------------------------------------------------------
Now head back towards the LOCKED Gate in the center, and head through.
Prepare for a boss fight.
-----------
| Nephtis \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Viola AI
--------------------------------------------------------
Once again, you're pitted against Nephtis and the AI
of Viola. And once again you can't hurt Nephtis due
to her energy sheilding. You'll once again need to
use the Subweapon GRAB to break the sheild.
You can grab any of the plates on the wall or on the
pillars in the center, these will work fine. Press
L2 to stop targetting Nephtis, and grab the plates.
When you press L1 to guard with it you should target
Nephtis automatically. Wait until she charges you,
and she will fall back. This is when you can attack
her without worrying about the energy sheilding. If
you want best results, use Gauntlet and hit her into
the walls.
After taking half of her life away, this battle will
shift to the next one.
--------------------------------------------------------
A CUTSCENE will occur, then you'll be taken to the next area.
=================
6.5 Vascillia
=================
You'll be in Vascillia now, but you won't have time to enjoy it. First you
will have to finish the boss battle you'd started in CAPRI CANYON.
-----------
| Nephtis \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Viola AI
--------------------------------------------------------
This battle is the conclusion of the former one, and
Nephtis will start with half of its life bar already
depleted.
Use DASH in the beginning of the battle to get away
from the electric fencing behind you. Stay close to
it, but not too close, because it can pull you up to
it and get you stuck in it.
Nephtis will use SHOT attacks and charge attacks to
try to hurt you but this battle isn't very difficult
at all. When Nephtis charges at you, simply DASH to
the side and she will get entangled in the electric
fence behind you. Take this opportunity to attack in
whatever fashion you please. Eventually Nephtis will
escape from the fence. Just repeat the process.
Also, a sidenote, if you're lucky you can just keep
hitting Nephtis back into the fence repeatedly until
you've won.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: COMET
--------------------------------------------------------
You will receive COMET from Nephtis once you have won
the previous battle. COMET is very useful in the next
area, because it is a homing device that can pierce an
enemy's guard. However, it tends to take up a lot of
SUBGAUGE, so use it sparingly.
--------------------------------------------------------
You're now in Vascillia Colony, and your current mission is to save as many
buildings, LEVs, and civilians as possible. This is similar to the missions
in the first game, if you played it. In this fight, the LEVs will be
helping you to attack the enemies that appear, but unlike you, they don't
care if they level the entire colony while doing it.
Your goal is to disable the LEVs, destroy all enemies, and save the
civilians/buildings as well as you can. This isn't an incredibly difficult
task, so long as you know where to be and what to do. And I'm about to tell
you, so don't fret.
The map here should help, I hope you can read it.

KEY:
X - This is where you start (the spot you fought Nephtis in)
! - SUBENERGY. You'll need at least one.
L - The locations where the LEVs begin. They will move to the left
as the battle continues.
$ - This designates a building that can be destroyed by the enemies.
\ and / - This represents a deep depression into the ground.
A, B, C, D - These are the places where SPIDERs will appear.
Make sure you use your new SUBWEAPON, COMET, but use it sparingly. It takes
up a lot of SUBGAUGE energy, so kill as many SPIDERs as possible with SLASH
attacks, and if the arrow appears pointing to new enemies, finish off the
group you're with using COMET. If your SUBGAUGE gets low, use HOMING LASERs
to refill it.
1. The SPIDERs will appear at spot A.
2. They will appear at spot A again.
3. There will be some more at spot B. Be SURE to wait until the
SPIDERs climb over the fence here, it can count for up to 3%
of your score.
4. The SPIDERs will appear at spot A again.
5. Don't leave. They'll reappear in spot A.
6. They will appear at spot B next, remember the fence!
7. Head to spot C for the next group.
8. Go towards spot D, fly beneath the bridge to grab a SUBGAUGE if
you need it. Once you get to spot D, waste the SPIDERs there.
9. Go back to spot A. The SPIDERs will begin to jump around and the
LEVs will move. Try not to let the SPIDERs leave the depressed
area they start near from now on.
10. Back to spot B. You shouldn't have to worry about the gate this
time because they'll jump clear over it.
11. Now go to spot D and take care of them.
12. Go back to spot C and take care of the SPIDERs before they get over
the wall near the buildings.
13. Now go back to spot B and kill a few there. Remember the fence.
14. By the time you get to spot D for the next set, they'll probably
have climbed into the depressed area (where the train is) so check
there if you can't find them.
Based on how your percents turned out, you'll get ranked better or worse. If
you saved 100% of the LEVs, Buildings, and Civilians, you'll get an SS Rank.
It really isn't that difficult, so if you don't get it the first time I'd
recommend going back and trying again.
However, feel free to kill everything if you want to, you'll get Rank C and
ADA will mention something about a perfect slaughter. Once you finish this
part of the game, or feel satisfied, you'll see a CUTSCENE and move on to
the next area - the train.
=======================
6.6 Vascillia Train
=======================
Now your job is to chase down a train that is leaving from the depressed
area in Vascillia Colony. After grabbing the METATRON, go over to where the
train was before; the arrow points in this direction. You'll see a short
CUTSCENE and regain control again.
You need to work your way up to the front of the train, and depending on
what difficulty you're playing on, you will have from 5 - 10 minutes to
complete this section; Easy gets 10, Normal and up gets 5. The amount of
time may also depend on how you ranked in the previous mission, but that is
just a guess. Either way, 5 minutes is more than enough to finish this part
so don't sweat it.
Some RAPTORs will attack you; make quick work of them. Note that if the
enemy falls back you can defeat them simply by leaving them behind. Once
you've taken care of them, focus on the train car, use your HOMING LASERs to
attack the MOSQUITOs and the back of the train. When you destroy the car,
you'll see a fairly large explosion, and ADA will mention that the car has
been destroyed.
CYCLOPs and RAPTORs will appear, you should be able to off them pretty fast.
Kill some more MOSQUITOs, then move over the destroyed rear car and begin
attacking the targets on the next car with your HOMING LASERs. Dodge the
blasts they fire at you, and once the car is blown up, NARITAs will come at
you. If they're guarding too much, use COMET and continue to the next car.
Repeat the process, defeat the CYCLOPs that appear and move up to the next
car. HOMING LASERs again, COMET on the NARITAs and CYCLOPs who appear. It
is now nearing the end of this, there is only one car left. This car has
only one target, fire at it however you want to. Once it's destroyed, you
will see another CUTSCENE.
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: DECOY
--------------------------------------------------------
Once you've defeated the train, you will receive this
SUBWEAPON, DECOY. It will cause the image of Jehuty
to appear, and enemies will target it instead of you.
While the enemy is targetting the DECOY, you can go
after it freely.
--------------------------------------------------------
When you regain control, you're on a bridge by yourself. Follow the
direction the arrow gives you and pass through a somewhat disturbing sight;
does Kojima like doing this? It reminds me of that scene in MGS just before
you fight the Cyborg Ninja ...
Anyway, I'll give you two guesses on who did this. No clue? Step into the
next room and you'll go to a CUTSCENE, then you'll know.
-----------
| Nephtis \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Viola AI
--------------------------------------------------------
Another battle with Nephtis! And this one can be a
tough one, too.
As usual, Nephtis' energy sheilding prevents regular
attacking against her, so you'll have to find a way
to get past it. The solution lies within the CLODs
that are lying around throughout the battle area. If
you use Subweapon GRAB on them, you can use them as
a sheild when Nephtis charges at you. Beware though,
the CLODs can become VERY annoying. To avoid their
GRAB, hit them with a Melee SLASH, then GRAB them.
If they do GRAB you, escape it with DASH.
Remember, while you're holding the CLOD to target
Nephtis and not the other CLODs in the area. Nephtis
will usually be slightly above or below you, and is
usually moving around quickly, so you will know when
you're targetting the right thing.
Also make sure you don't let go of the CLOD while it
is in your grasp; they can escape, remember? If you
press and hold R2 you can suppress their attempts at
escape.
Now then! Once Nephtis charges and is stunned, you
will be able to attack her freely. Switching over
to GAUNTLET is your best bet, use it frequently and
knock her into the walls to take off most damage.
Also, if you can, keep her pinned against the wall,
and you can repeatedly use SLASH until you win.
This time you'll have to deplete the entire bar of
health to win. Just keep at it and you'll win.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: VECTOR CANNON
--------------------------------------------------------
The long awaited VECTOR CANNON! You get it once you
win that last Boss battle with Nephtis. Unfortunately
the VECTOR CANNON is not very practical in normal
battle, so you probably won't be using it very often.
It takes a long time to charge up, but once it does it
is incredibly large and powerful.
Besides the few points in the storyline where you will
required to use it, you probably won't use it.
--------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, you'll see a CUTSCENE, then be immediately forced into the next boss
battle.
----------
| Ardjet \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Ken Marinaris
Controlled by Viola AI
--------------------------------------------------------
Notice that you have TWO life bars at the top of the
screen, one for Ardjet and one for Viola AI. Your
goal in this battle is to defeat the Viola AI, while
keeping Ardjet's health as high as possible.
To defeat the Viola AI you'll have to let ADA delete
the AI program from Ardjet. To do this, Jehuty will
need to grab Ardjet and hold on. ADA will delete the
Viola AI progessively each time.
The first time you grab at Ardjet is fairly easy but
as you go further into the battle, it becomes more &
more difficult. You will need to cross swords with
Ardjet 3 - 4 times to disable it's sheilding. This
can be difficult at first, but after a while you'll
get it. Just go in close to Ardjet, and when you
see it's sword go back, press the Square button and
you should cross swords.
After doing this 3 - 4 times in a row, Ardjet will
tumble backwards and you can go in to GRAB it. Hold
down R2 while holding onto Ardjet to stay latched on
longer, while ADA deletes the Viola AI program.
There are a few things you should be aware of. If
you run too far away from Ardjet and leave it alone,
the Viola AI will use an electrifying attack and it
will harm Ardjet. Also, when Ardjet does its charge
attack, just DASH away around the corner to dodge.
When it uses WISPs, just destroy them all with your
Homing Laser and be prepared to go in to cross your
swords.
After about 6 - 7 GRABs, the fight will be over and
Viola AI & Nephtis will be gone forever.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: WISP
--------------------------------------------------------
After the CUTSCENEs, Ardjet will supply you with WISP,
("You use weird things") which is essentially the same
as GRAB, except you can use it from long distances.
It will be useful soon, and in a later BOSS battle,
but otherwise is about as useful as GRAB is.
--------------------------------------------------------
You need to GRAB Ardjet and carry it to the top of the room. In order to
get to the top of the room, you'll have to destroy KEY type enemies, which
consist of CYCLOPs, CLODs, MUMMYHEADs, and RAPTORs. They will continually
appear, so kill a few, make sure Ardjet is in a safe spot, kill a few more,
then continue up.
--\\ NOTE \\---------------------------------------------
You can do an interesting trick here with Ken. Take
Ardjet down as far as possible and Ken will begin to
complain about the heat; stay there for a while, and
later on, you'll see Ken in a tank-top sort of thing
instead of her normal uniform.
Keep in mind that the heat will damage both Jehuty &
Ardjet.
---------------------------------------------------------
You will have to pass through about 2 or 3 force fields (locked by KEY type
enemies) to get to the top. Like Taper, you can restore Ardjet's health by
holding R2 while staying still.
If you need to kill enemies, don't worry about dropping Ardjet just
anywhere; she falls slowly, so you can kill a few enemies and she should
still be nearby. If you can put her on a platform, that's even better. If
she gets too far away, use WISP to grab her.
After the CUTSCENEs you'll be in the next area.
=================================
6.7 The Path to Fortress City
=================================
Now you're on your way to Fortress City, which is protected by an extensive
array of explosives and OFs which will try their best to keep you away. Ken
will be able to guide you through the invisible "walls" so you'll have to
listen to her instructions to get through this area. When she says to stop,
stop IMMEDIATELY, and listen to her next instructions, using the right
analog stick to turn. When she tells you to go forward, do so.
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE DASH. There are some parts you can use it, but play
it safe and just take your time. Yeah, this part is incredibly boring, but
you won't be there too long.
I won't go into too much on the details of where exactly you need to go, but
after a while, you'll run into a small group of enemies, including CYCLOPs,
RAPTORs, and MUMMYHEADs. They shouldn't be difficult at all, and afterwards
stand still until Ken gives you the okay on where to go.
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: HALBERD
--------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the SUBWEAPONs you probably won't need
to use very often; in fact, I can think of only one
part near the end of the game where I used it.
Anyway, HALBERD is a large, concentrated laser beam
that can take off a ton of health from an enemy very
quickly, provided they don't evade it. Unfortunately,
because the beam is so large, evading it is relatively
easy for an enemy.
Like I said, you probably won't use HALBERD very much.
--------------------------------------------------------
Once Ken tells you the way to go, get started and you'll eventually run into
a field where there are floating mines; since your Automatic Targetting can
get you off-course, you'll want to hold down L2 for a few seconds until your
Targetting is turned off. Then proceed through the mine field, dodging the
mines but not straying from your forward path.
After a turn or two ADA will inform you of some missiles coming in. Use R1
to put up your shields to deflect them while continuing forward. A few more
groups of these will appear throughout, so be prepared to put up your shield
regularly.
Before long you'll enter another segmented field where you'll do battle
against some more OFs, this time including CLODs and RAPTORs. A COMMANDER
type CLOD will appear at one point. Remember to target the COMMANDER types
first, then take out the rest as the come. When they're all dead, Ken will
direct you which way to go; go that way, and you'll finish the most boring
and slow part of the game.
There will be a CUTSCENE, then you'll enter the next area.
=====================
6.8 Fortress City
=====================
When you enter the city, you may think of Vascillia Colony and think you've
got to protect the buildings; don't worry about that. You can destroy every
building if you really want to, it makes absolutely no difference at all.
In this area are eight different elevators; you need to find the correct one
that will lead you down to the next area, where you can meet up with Lloyd.
This map should help. I've left out the buildings and just given you a
layout of where the elevators are.

----------------------------------------------------
X - Your starting point.
Okay, this is pretty easy to explain using the above diagram. You may want
to go ahead and fly around and kill everything here, there are all sorts of
enemies, including a new one called LEOPARDO which is fast and deadly, but
not entirely difficult to defeat.
If you want to just get through this area, there's a SUBWEAPON you will want
to pick up here that you may actually miss. My first time through the game
I didn't realize I'd missed it until the end of the game, so make sure you
get it now.
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: MUMMY
--------------------------------------------------------
This is the only SUBWEAPON that is beneficial to you,
and is the only way besides METATRON to recharge your
health bar. Holding it will put up a shield, quite
like the ones the MUMMYHEADs hold up. While held, it
will drain your SUBGAUGE, but protect and restore your
ENERGY.
To get it, go to Elevator D, and descend down it. Kill
the MUMMYHEADs in here, and you will receive it from
one of them.
--------------------------------------------------------
You can visit all the elevators if you like, each one will generate enemies,
but if you want to move on, Elevator F is the one that leads to the Inner
part of Fortress City. You'll have to defeat some LEOPARDOs and a CELLAR to
activate the elevator.
After a very brief CUTSCENE, you will be in another annoying area. I love
the game, but the entire Fortress City part is my least favorite area.
Anyway, you'll be in a new type of area where each wall will have 3 large
pillars that come out horizontally to touch with 3 pillars from the opposite
wall. They move very slowly, but if you get caught between two of the
pillars when they touch, you will be crushed ("or you'll be in big trouble"
according to ADA). Steer clear of the pillars, because the targetting and
camera angles can make it a little confusing in this area.
You'll be in the first of three rooms like this; ADA suggests using GEYSER.
The idea behind this is to immobilize enemies so the pillars crush them for
you; I find it's easier to just use GAUNTLET to knock them back into the
walls and pillars. Try to stay above all the pillars if possible and just
shoot downwards. Regular SHOTs will work, too.
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
When you come reach the bottom of the room, check in
one of the corners. There should be an EX-MISSION
FILE there, once you kill all the enemies inside the
room. Go pick it up.
--------------------------------------------------------
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
Look in the corner opposite the previous EX-MISSION
FILE.
--------------------------------------------------------
After clearing the CLODs, RAPTORs, and MUMMYHEADs in the first room, proceed
to the bottom of the room. ADA will let you know when everything is dead
and the door unlocks. Go into the next room when you're ready.
This room is like the previous one, with lots of RAPTORs, CLODs, CYCLOPs and
MUMMYHEADs in it. You won't be able to hover over the pillars in this one
though, so kill the enemies near the top level quickly and go down. In the
corners here, you'll notice some lasers; kill them first and go stand in the
corner, away from the enemies, and just fire SHOTs or COMET at the enemies
in the room. Proceed down further and in the opposite two corners will be
more lasers. Again, stand in the corners and fire at the enemies from afar
until ADA tells you the door is open.
--------------------
--(( VS MECH: Inhert ))--------------------------------
--------------------
If you're playing through the game your second time
through, there is a VS MECH you can unlock inside the
room, and it's pretty easy to get.
In the first set of corners (where the lasers are),
there will be an icon of a DOLL tucked between the
corner platform and the pillar. If you can't find it
you can just kill everything in the room, then use L2
to switch targets until you find it. Fly into it to
unlock Inhert for VS Mode.
--------------------------------------------------------
Continue down, and enter the third and final room like this. In here, the
pillars move much faster, and there are a lot more enemies. That tactic of
staying away from the enemies will no longer work, as there is a CELLAR near
the bottom of the room which will produce CLODs, CYCLOPs, MUMMYHEADs, and
RAPTORs. Kill as many enemies as you can, and when you see the CELLAR go
down to kill it. Clear out the rest of the OFs in the area, and ADA will
let you know when the door opens to the next room.
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
In this room (the third of the pillar rooms), look at
the wall opposite of the exit. There should be an
EX-MISSION FILE there waiting for you, after all the
enemies have been destroyed.
--------------------------------------------------------
Once you're ready, head into the next hallway, where you'll get a much
needed METATRON, after which, you'll see a CUTSCENE, then you'll be thrown
into the next BOSS battle.
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
In the room where you fight Inhert, go to the floor,
and there should be an EX-MISSION FILE sitting down
near the center of the room. Pick it up, then pick
up on the battle at hand.
--------------------------------------------------------
----------
| Inhert \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Lloyd
--------------------------------------------------------
This battle is not incredibly difficult, but it can
be somewhat annoying because Inhert moves so rapidly
and is hard to catch up to. Keep using DASH to catch
up with him, and constantly use Homing Lasers to hit
him while he is running. DECOY is also useful; he
will often stop to attack your DECOY, and you can go
up to him to attack. Use SLASH attacks to deal a
moderate amount of damage. Keep repeating this, and
once he reaches half of his health bar, the real
fight will begin.
Don't worry about his attacks in this battle either,
he is pretty tame at this point.
--------------------------------------------------------
After bringing down Inhert's health, he will blind you and you'll be put
into the second part of the battle.
----------
| Inhert \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Lloyd
--------------------------------------------------------
Technically this is the same battle, but I decided I
would break it up because it is different after you
take down half of his life.
Starting on this battle, Inhert's health bar will be
down by half due to the previous battle. You will be
blinded, and will have to be guided by ADA in order
to fight. At first this sounds much more difficult
than it actually is.
Immediately DASH forward, ADA will tell you how much
farther it is until you reach Inhert. She will also
tell you to DEFEND, dodge right, or dodge left. It
is easiest if you return to the center of the screen
after each of these moves so you can quickly respond
to her next command.
Once you reach Inhert, just use Slash Melee Attacks,
and he will eventually run off again. Repeat this
process a few more times and eventually Inhert will
fall. If he begins to use DECOY, hit one of them,
and the others should disappear.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: HOMING MISSILES
--------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the best SUBWEAPONs in the game; it is
like the name implies, a homing weapon that will chase
down the enemy, then pierce it's guard and destroy it.
Most enemies will be destroyed by it in one or two
hits.
Holding the Circle button will cause the Missiles to
appear behind you. The longer you hold it, the more
appear, up to 16 of them. Usually, tapping it quickly
will shoot one to four missiles; this is effective
when there aren't a lot of enemies around. Only use
all 16 when there are a ton of enemies in the area.
It may be implied, but the more missiles you fire, the
more SUBGAUGE is used.
--------------------------------------------------------
There will be another CUTSCENE, and when you regain control of Jehuty, you
will be in yet another BOSS fight.
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: ZERO-SHIFT (INACTIVE)
--------------------------------------------------------
You can't use it yet, but ZERO-SHIFT is in my opinion
the greatest SUBWEAPON you'll get. It allows you to
compress space like Anubis does, and thus you can fly
at incredible speeds.
Using this on regular enemies will usually cause you
ram them, which usually depletes their health to just
about nothing. Once ZERO-SHIFT is activated, you will
probably be using it all the time.
The best thing about ZERO-SHIFT? It doesn't take up
any of your SUBGAUGE.
--------------------------------------------------------
----------
| Anubis \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Nohman
--------------------------------------------------------
You can't win this battle, but you can lose. Just
make sure you aren't hit too much and use your SLASH
Attacks because that's about all that you can really
hit him with. After you bring his health down just a
little bit, you'll go to a CUTSCENE and this battle
ends.
--------------------------------------------------------
==========================
6.9 Skies of Vascillia
==========================
After the CUTSCENEs, you'll reach the Skies over Vascillia.
This is easily my favorite part of the game. The background music is a non
lyric version of "Beyond the Bounds," the theme for the game. Be sure to
download it, it's a great song. Besides that, it's just an epic level,
because it's the first time you'll really have to use the VECTOR CANNON.
And there's so much going on in it, no matter how hard it is for you, you'll
enjoy it.
Anyway ... you'll be in the skies over Vascillia Colony, where the BAHRAM
Armada is heading towards Leo and the LEVs. You have to take out an Armada
of 5 BAHRAM Battleships.
The main thing you need to remember is that you should stay under the ship,
and to it's side. This way, you will avoid the main fire of the cannons
that are being fired at you; getting hit by these cannons can be devastating
to your health.
You should stick to using your HOMING LASERs on the entire ship; near the
bulky part of the ship, there will be two laser cannons on the underside;
take those out first, then go back towards the front (where most of the
laser fire comes from) and take out the targets there. Be sure to clear
all the MOSQUITOs and missles from the air around the ships, too.
Once you've destroyed all the lasers cannons, the armor plating on the front
of the ship will fall apart; make sure you've done this to both side of the
ship, then go in for the cannon. I find that the best way to do it is with
SLASH attacks. If you get the "DANGER" warning on your screen, DO NOT try
to finish off the cannon. Immediately DASH out of the way until it's done
firing, then kill it off. Getting hit by the cannon is a risk you can't
afford to take.
Now that the defenses of the ship are decimated, you can head to the back of
ship, where a rotating sphere will be. If you don't see it, you can target
it; go into the little nook of the ship, then equip the VECTOR CANNON.
Charge it up, press L3 when it's ready to fire (to hear Dingo call out
something - for effect), then let go of the Circle button. You should get
ENERGY when the ship goes down; this goes for every ship. The ship will be
destroyed, and you can move on to the next one.
Before you get to it, some OFs will appear, and you'll have to do battle.
I suggest pulling out your HOMING MISSILEs and tapping it lightly (so only a
few missiles come out), so you can be done with them quickly.
The second ship will have Anti-Aircraft Lasers on top; they're the large
purple things protruding from the hull of the ship. Stay low, destroy the
flanking laser cannons like last time, then concentrate your HOMING LASERs
on the Anti-Aircraft Lasers and regular lasers. When all eight (four on
each side) Anti-Aircraft Lasers are gone, ADA will tell you; make sure you
destroy the regular cannons too, you'll know when they're gone because the
armor plating will be destroyed. After everything stops shooting at you,
go up and finish off the cannon. Make sure to avoid it's fire ... then use
the VECTOR CANNON on the rotating sphere thing in the back.
There will be more enemies showing up now, finish them off quickly with the
HOMING MISSILES. From here on out, you will probably have trouble with the
other ships' crossfire. If you want to avoid this, go to the ship at the
end of the line to avoid all of it. This way, the crossfire won't be able
to reach you.
If you do decide to do that, the last two ships have different weaponry on
it; that is, there are more laser cannons (the ones that appear on the
bottom of the ship). In addition to the two on the bottom, there will be
two more on the top. Take those out first, then go on to the rest of the
ships. Treat them like the other ones you've destroyed so far and you
probably won't have any problems. Repeat the process for any remaining
ships.
Keep in mind that as you go on, the enemy reinforcements will appear faster.
Just keep using HOMING MISSILEs on them and you should be okay. When you
get to the last ship, they'll probably be attacking you while you're trying
to charge up the VECTOR CANNON, so be prepared to lose some of your ENERGY.
If you're really having trouble with this level, just keep trying, and you
should beat it after a while, once you get to know what's coming your way a
little better.
--\\ NOTE \\---------------------------------------------
This isn't exactly a big secret, but it's my favorite
conversation you can initiate between ADA and Dingo.
When ADA says "Enemy reinforcements approaching," hit
L3 and Dingo will say "I'll do it in 10 seconds!" ADA
ADA will respond, but she won't have that much faith
in Dingo. Ha, ha! I love that conversation. Anyway.
---------------------------------------------------------
Once you've decimated the entire BAHRAM Armada, you'll be approached by the
next BOSS, who doesn't .. really have any place in the overall storyline.
---------
| Zakat \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: BAHRAM Forces
--------------------------------------------------------
Zakat is a huge OF but don't let it's size fool you.
It's actually just a pushover. There are two forms
that this boss has, the second one a lot easier than
the first; though both are pretty easy.
The first one is a large sphere which tends to shoot
lasers all over the place. Use WISP or GRAB to pull
the pieces of Zakat apart, and use them as a shield
against the laser bursts. Once you have removed all
of the pieces, the energy shield Zakat is using will
disappear and you can go in to damage it. ADA will
suggest making this a close range battle -- the only
difference will be how long it takes for you to get
in close enough to hit Zakat. If Zakat charges you,
just DASH away.
To damage Zakat you'll need to fly into the interior
part, and SLASH the large "tail" that is within it.
After a while, Zakat will push you out; just repeat
the process until his health bar reaches halfway.
At this point, Zakat will change forms. This one is
easier than the last. Just stay near Zakat's head,
and SLASH at it repeatedly. When it puts its sheild
up fly over the top of it and wait for the sheild to
disappear. A black thing should appear, but you do
not need to bother with it, it will go away after a
few seconds.
Once the shield fades, keep attacking the head and
soon you will show Zakat the true power of Jehuty.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: FLOATING MINE
--------------------------------------------------------
After defeating Orbital Frame Zakat, you'll receive
the SUBWEAPON FLOATING MINE. Using this will place a
mine in the field of battle, and when an enemy goes
near it, it will explode and cause damage to them.
You can also throw enemies into it, too, but that may
require too much effort for some of you.
Honestly, I never used this in the game itself; in the
EX-MISSIONs, you are required to use it as your only
weapon at one part. That's the only time I ever used
it.
--------------------------------------------------------
Watch some CUTSCENEs, then you'll be on the ground in the next area.
==================================
6.10 Battle at Aumaan Crevasse
==================================
After a whole ton of CUTSCENEs, you'll be in the most epic battle in the
game; an entire fleet of OFs will be trying to prevent you, and 40 LEVs from
arriving at the Aumaan Crevasse, which will lead you to Aumaan. Your
mission is to defeat ALL enemies, and save as many LEVs as possible. This
is no easy task.
ADA will suggest using PHALANX; don't bother. It's much easier if you use
the HOMING MISSILEs, but be sure to use them lightly. That is, if you only
have one or two enemies nearby, don't fire 16 Missiles - you'll just be
wasteful.
There will be a number of large groups of OFs you can go after, I suggest
targetting these first with all 16 HOMING MISSILEs. Once you've taken care
of them, you should concentrate on protecting the LEVs; use SLASH on the
ones nearby, along with HOMING LASERs (to refill SUBGAUGE) and HOMING
MISSILEs when things get hairy.
If a LEV is damaged, you will see an "SOS" on the screen hovering over the
LEV which is in trouble. Go to that LEV, put GEYSER on, target it, and use
GEYSER. This will disable any enemies from going near it, and it will
signal to Leo (who's in Vic Viper) to go over to that LEV and restore it's
health.
--\\ NOTE \\---------------------------------------------
If you remember from way back in the game, holding R2
while you're using GRAB on an ally will allow you to
restore their health. This still applies here but in
such a battle, it's almost impossible to make enough
time to restore them significantly.
---------------------------------------------------------
--\\ NOTE \\---------------------------------------------
You can actually use GRAB on Vic Viper, then use him
as a weapon! It won't hurt him, because he can't be
destroyed, and it really isn't very effective, but it
can be done. It also can be pretty comedic, but
besides that, that's about it.
---------------------------------------------------------
After using GEYSER on a damaged LEV, and any other in the immediate area,
I would suggest switching back to HOMING MISSILEs, then launching a few off,
so you can kill off anything that might try to go after those LEVs.
Get used to using GEYSER, you'll likely be DASHing back and forth to use
GEYSER on them. Your goal here is to save at least one LEV, but the better
you do, the better ranking you'll get in this mission, and the better
ranking you'll get in the overall game.
Once you get through a large portion of the battle, a fierce group of OFs
will come in a line that sweeps across the map from the top to the bottom.
ADA will let you know when it appears; try to meet it as far north as you
can. I personally just go all out with the HOMING MISSILEs at this part,
but you can also use the VECTOR CANNON from the ground, too. I just have
trouble aiming it, so the HOMING MISSILEs work better for me.
This is the point where you'll really have to buckle down on the LEVs. The
first part of the battle weakened them, and the second wave of them will
finish the job on them. Don't forget to clean out one or two OFs between
using GEYSER on the LEVs.
It is a tough battle, especially on your first run through, because you
don't have ZERO-SHIFT yet. Based on your results, you will get a better or
worse rank. This is how it works ...
Rank SS Save 100% of the LEVs.
Rank S Save between 80 - 99% of the LEVs.
Rank A Save between 50 - 79% of the LEVs.
Rank B Save between 25 - 49% of the LEVs.
Rank C Save less than 25% of the LEVs.
My best ranking on Normal, my first time through the game was:
Enemies Destroyed: 193
Saved LEVs: 35
Destroyed LEVs: 5
Rank: S
My best ranking overall was on Easy, with Jehuty Ver.2, Non-Equip:
Enemies Destroyed: 415
Saved LEVs: 40
Destroyed LEVs: 0
Rank: SS
Anyway, you should be able to get at least an A rank, that's what I got the
very first time I played this level. You can reset and do this level over
again if you like, or just keep playing, whatever. Whenever you are
satisfied with your ranking, just continue on to the next area.
You'll see a few CUTSCENEs, and then the SUBWEAPON ZERO-SHIFT will become
active! Since it's been a while since you got it, I'll put the SUBWEAPON
briefing for it here, too.
--------------------------------------------------------
SUBWEAPON: ZERO-SHIFT (ACTIVE)
--------------------------------------------------------
You can finally use it! ZERO-SHIFT is in my opinion
the greatest SUBWEAPON you'll get. It allows you to
compress space like Anubis does, and thus you can fly
at incredible speeds.
Using this on regular enemies will usually cause you
ram them, which usually depletes their health to just
about nothing. Once ZERO-SHIFT is activated, you will
probably be using it all the time.
The best thing about ZERO-SHIFT? It doesn't take up
any of your SUBGAUGE.
--------------------------------------------------------
After another CUTSCENE, you'll start the next area.
===========================
6.11 Aumaan Cargo Route
===========================
The home stretch! You're now on your way to Aumaan, through an underground
cargo route. Now that you have ZERO-SHIFT, ADA will suggest you use it.
Follow her advice - it should automatically be equipped.
--\\ NOTE \\---------------------------------------------
You may have noticed Jehuty's new look (as Dingo says,
she put her makeup on). You are now piloting Jehuty
Ver. 2, which is much more powerful in all aspects. If
you hadn't noticed, you'll now have three WISPs that
are constantly at your side, firing along with you.
The added firepower is great, and at this point, there
should be nothing to stand in your way.
---------------------------------------------------------
Jehuty Ver. 2 is truly amazing. The strategy for this next part is to
simply use ZERO-SHIFT, SLASH the enemies around you, use ZERO-SHIFT, SLASH
then enemies around you, then repeat.
After killing about 7 - 9 RAPTORs (I killed them so fast I couldn't count),
the force field preventing you from going further will be removed, and you
can continue downwards.
Over this ramp, there will be a group of MUMMYHEADs; make quick work of them
and the COMMANDER type (don't worry about killing the COMMANDER first) and
the next part will open up. Head into it when you're ready.
In this room there are a lot of MOSQUITOs and Missiles, kill them with long
range HOMING LASERs, then use ZERO-SHIFT on the CYCLOPs enemies that are
inside. When you kill them all, the next area will become available to you.
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
In the room with the CYCLOPs' and MOSQUITOs, on the
ground there is a sheltered area that takes up about
half of the floor. Fly under it, and you should be
able to find an EX-MISSION FILE there.
--------------------------------------------------------
Go to the next room with all the black beams going horizontally. There will
be CYCLOPs, and MUMMYHEADs in this room; make quick work of them all, and if
you want, follow ADA's advice about long range attacks. It isn't really
necessary though.
In the next area, you'll fight MUMMYHEADs, CYCLOPs, RAPTORs, and SPIDERs. It
isn't difficult, but a lot of enemies tend to appear and if you aren't
paying attention, you'll be surrounded fairly easily. You shouldn't have
too much trouble, though.
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
After destroying some of the beams in this room, you
should be able to find an EX-MISSION file near the
wall where the ruins of it remain. If I remember it
correctly, it will be on the left, when you're facing
in the direction you're supposed to be going.
--------------------------------------------------------
Head further down, and enter the small passageway you see in the center of
the wall before you. Enter it, and you'll go to a CUTSCENE. It's another
long one, and when you finish it, you'll be in a similar area to the last
one.
In this room there are a few lasers cannons, destroy them and a group of
NARITAs will appear. Kill the lot of them using ZERO-SHIFT, and proceed
further into the cargo route.
The next ramp won't have any enemies, but the following room will have some
LEOPARDOs and MOSQUITOs. Kill the MOSQUITOs first because they're annoying,
then take out the LEOPARDOs with ZERO-SHIFT. More LEOPARDOs and NARITAs
will appear before you get through here. Kill them all.
In the next large room, you'll run into a group of LEOPARDOs, kill them, as
well as their COMMANDERs, and the path to the next area will be opened up
for you.
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
There should be a pillar in the center of this room,
and sitting atop it is the prize you seek - that's
right, and EX-MISSION FILE. Get it and continue on.
--------------------------------------------------------
Before you, you'll see another passageway in the wall facing you. Get the
next EX-MISSION FILE before continuing through it, you may also want to try
getting the next VS MECH as well.
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
Just beneath the passageway you're at right now, you
should be able to see two passageways blocked by red
lasers. Between these doorways is the an EX-MISSION
FILE.
--------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------
--(( VS MECH: Naked Jehuty ))---------------------------
-------------------------
You can only get this after you've beaten the game at
least once. Before going into the passageway, notice
the two other passageways below that are blocked red
lasers. Fire a SHOT at these lasers and they will
disappear, allowing you to enter a hidden area (which

is a level in VS Mode). Here you will do battle with
NAKED JEHUTY. This is an easy battle, just use ZERO-
SHIFT and SLASH a lot. Try not to let NAKED JEHUTY
attack you at all; keep going at it until it's dead.
Once you've killed it, collect the DOLL / "VS MECH"
icon that appears in the center of the room, and you
will be transported to the next area.
--------------------------------------------------------
If you didn't go after the VS MECH, go through the passageway in the wall
and you'll be taken to the same area you would have been transported to
after getting the VS MECH.
Go through the narrow tunnel here, and you'll emerge at the cargo route
generator. There is a long red passage you have to go through, but a large
energy wave will send you flying back against the wall and damage you.
It's pretty easy to get through this. Use ZERO-SHIFT to proceed down this
red passage, use it about 5 times, then switch to GRAB. GRAB a plate off of
the wall, and now use DASH to move forward a little bit more. Press R1 to
block, and the energy wave won't send you back that far. Repeat this one
more time, and you should be fairly close to the beam. After blocking the
second time, just use DASH until you get really close to the thing making
the waves.
Now GRAB a plate, let it hit you, then DASH forward a bit. When you get
up to it again (not too close), attack the center of it. I find the HALBERD
works really well, you can usually kill it before it will fire another shot.
When it's destroyed, enter the new area and you'll go to a CUTSCENE.
--\\ NOTE \\---------------------------------------------
Depending on how well you responded to ADA's comments
throughout the game, your relationship with her will
be different at the end. At the end of the CUTSCENE
with Leo, ADA will comment on your odds in the fight
against Anubis. Depending on your relationship, she
will give a different outlook on it.
These can range from "You're doomed" to "You may stand
a chance."
---------------------------------------------------------
After the CUTSCENE, fly forward and land directly in front of the red area.
This is the compressed space that you need to destroy, using the VECTOR
CANNON, so charge it up and let loose on it.
When it's destroyed, head into the black space and watch another CUTSCENE.
===========================
6.12 Underground Sphere
===========================
After the CUTSCENE, you'll be immediately forced into a BOSS battle.
----------
| Anubis \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: ???
--------------------------------------------------------
You're once again fighting Anubis, and this time you
have to bring it down to half of its health in order
to proceed further.
This can be done fairly easily now that you have the
new upgrades and Jehuty Ver. 2. Use ZERO-SHIFT when
Anubis moves away, and just slash away using Melee,
and you should be fine. The battle will end shortly
and you'll move on.
--------------------------------------------------------
Once you finish the battle, you'll see some more CUTSCENEs, then move on to
the next area.
=========================
6.13 Compressed Space
=========================
When the CUTSCENEs end, you will be forced into yet another BOSS battle.
From here on out, there will be mainly BOSS fights, so be prepared to fight
hardcore.
--\\ NOTE \\---------------------------------------------
During the CUTSCENE, ADA will inform you that many of
Jehuty's SUBWEAPONs and features are now destroyed.
This version of Jehuty is called Damaged Jehuty.
The only SUBWEAPONs you will have are ZERO-SHIFT and
GRAB; GRAB is not very useful. BURST, SLASH, and DASH
will be the only normal functions of Jehuty that you
will be able to use; hence, no long-range attacks
anymore.
---------------------------------------------------------
----------
| Anubis \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Nohman
--------------------------------------------------------
This is a tough battle. Anubis will be out of range
most of the time, and Jehuty is Damaged so you'll be
able to use ZERO-SHIFT as your only Subweapon.
The general pattern of this battle is as follows:
- Anubis appears, calls out, then disappears.
- Anubis reappears and fires a BURST attack.
After Anubis reappears, you can see him charging his
BURST attack. When he does this, you must DASH to
the side and avoid it, then use ZERO-SHIFT to get in
close to Anubis and begin using SLASH on him.
After a long, long time of doing this, after Anubis'
health is past halfway, his armor will break up some
and he will begin to focus more on battling you with
Melee Attacks rather than BURST. If you dodge first
then attack, you can sometimes slip in a hit or two.
You may also want to use a DASH-SLASH combo (hold R2
and press Square) to hit him.
Once you get Anubis' health past 1/4th of the way,
more armor will shatter and he will focus more on
evading you and doing sharp, quick Melee Attacks.
Anubis may also use regular SHOT Attacks, which you
should use R1 DEFEND against. DASH away from them
if he begins to charge up a BURST.
Keep up the fight, and eventually, after a somewhat
long and tiring battle, you will defeat Anubis and
arrive on Phobos/Aumaan.
Don't throw the party just yet, you're not done.
--------------------------------------------------------
You'll see a CUTSCENE, then appear on Aumaan -- that is, Phobos Station.
======================
6.14 Phobos/Aumaan
======================
You are now on Phobos. Watch a few CUTSCENEs, then you'll regain control.
Don't go over to where Anubis is just yet.
--\\ NOTE \\---------------------------------------------
During the last few CUTSCENEs, you may have noticed
that Jehuty was damaged again. No longer are you in
Damaged Jehuty; you're now piloting Naked Jehuty.
You have the same features/SUBWEAPONs as your former
version, that is, Damaged Jehuty, but you also have
SHOT and HOMING LASERs.
---------------------------------------------------------
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
Go up. Straight above where you regain control, you
should find an EX-MISSION FILE. It should be fairly
easy to spot.
--------------------------------------------------------
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
Turn around from where you regained control, then go
forward. There should be an EX-MISSION FILE near the
ground. Use L2 if you have trouble locating it.
--------------------------------------------------------
Once you've gathered the EX-MISSION FILEs, continue where the arrow is
pointing; where Anubis is. When you reach him, you'll see a short CUTSCENE,
and then you will regain control.
Immediately, back away from the shining light! That will take you to the
next area, and you may not want to go there, just yet. There are a few
EX-MISSION FILEs you can gather at this point.
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
After the CUTSCENE, Nephtis clones will begin to rise
from within Aumaan. Back away from the light, then
do battle with them; they're incredibly easy. After
you kill a few of them, an EX-MISSION FILE should be
found on the ground, on the right side of the field
(facing the light crevasse).
--------------------------------------------------------
---------------------
--|| EX-MISSION FILE ||---------------------------------
---------------------
After killing even more of the Nephtis clones (don't
worry, they're easy), another EX-MISSION FILE will be
on the ground opposite the previous one.
--------------------------------------------------------
Kill some more Nephtis clones if you like, then go into the light crevasse
that I was warning you about earlier. This will take you down to the last
BOSS. You'll see some more CUTSCENEs.
======================
6.15 Inside Aumaan
======================
Watch the CUTSCENE, and you'll be forced into the final BOSS battle. After
this battle, the game will be over; and it isn't so difficult, so don't be
upset.
--\\ NOTE \\---------------------------------------------
Apparently in the PAL release of the game, this boss
is much more difficult than the NTSC release. I can't
confirm it because I don't have and don't plan to have
the PAL version. If you're playing the PAL version of
the game, the following strategy may not work - and I
can't help you. Check the "Additional Help" section
for other ways to get help on the game.
---------------------------------------------------------
-----------------
| Aumaan Anubis \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Nohman
--------------------------------------------------------
This battle is a joke. It may take a while, but it
shouldn't be incredibly difficult to win. Jehuty is
damaged pretty badly now, so you should still try to
be careful, though.
The attacks from the previous battle are still the
same though there isn't necessarily a pattern to the
use of them.
Generally, you should fire HOMING LASERs to destroy
his BURST attack (in case he charges one), then use
ZERO-SHIFT to catch up, then use DASH-SLASH combo to
hit him, because regular MELEE attacks are easier
for him to block.
The only thing you'll really need to keep in mind in
this battle is to avoid the BURST attacks he throws
at you at all costs. They can be deadly; one or two
hits by it can kill you.
After you've gotten the hang of hitting him, there's
no huge change in the way to battle him, however, he
tends to evade you more often with his ZERO-SHIFT as
his health bar gets lower and lower.
Eventually you'll beat him though, he really is not
so hard. Pat yourself on the back because you've now
completed a really great game.
Sit back and enjoy the ending.
--------------------------------------------------------
===================
6.16 Statistics
===================
After the ending and the credits, you will see a screen with various stats
tallied for you, as well as your overall ranking. The following is a list
of what will be displayed.
ENEMIES DESTROYED: XXXX
MAX CONSEC. ATTACKS: XXX
SCORE: XXXX
CONTINUES: XX
SAVES: XX
VASCILLIA EVENT: XX
MELLE EVENT: XX
OVERALL RATING: XX
The ranking goes as follows: C, B, A, S, SS. C is the lowest, SS is the
highest. If you get rank A or below, the picture behind these statistics
will be that of Dingo, Angie, and Rick (Angie & Rick are his mining pals).
If you are ranked S or SS, you will receive the picture of Dingo and Ken.
Press L1 to view the picture without the statistics in front of it.

7. Subweapons
******************************************************************************
This section will give you brief descriptions of each SUBWEAPON you get in
the game. Basically, I will be copying the explanations from inside the
walkthrough and will fix them up a little bit for this area.
--------------------------------------------------------
7.1 GRAB
--------------------------------------------------------
You start the game with the SUBWEAPON GRAB, and it is
useful throughout. By equipping it and pressing the
Circle button, you can grab enemies or objects.
Press the Square button while holding them to use them
as weapons, and the Circle button will let you discard
them, by throwing them at other enemies (or a wall).
You will use this quite a bit in BOSS battles, and it
can be fun in regular battle, but it's often faster to
use regular attacks.
The GRAB SUBWEAPON does not use any of your SUBGAUGE.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
7.2 GEYSER
--------------------------------------------------------
Upon saving Taper, you'll receive the GEYSER SUBWEAPON
which will be useful throughout the game.
After equipping it and pressing the Circle button, you
will be able to immobilize nearby enemies. Pressing
the button in lightly will cause it to be thrown over
a group of enemies, while pressing it hard will throw
it more precise, towards a single enemy.
While enemies are immobilized, they cannot move or put
up a guard, so you can kill them easily.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
7.3 GAUNTLET
--------------------------------------------------------
By equipping GAUNTLET and pressing the Circle button,
you can cause minimal damage by piercing the enemy's
guard. The real benefit of this SUBWEAPON is the fact
that it repels targets; this can repel the target into
nearby walls for even more damage. In small spaces,
GAUNTLET is very effective.
After defeating Vic Viper, he will give you GAUNTLET.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
7.4 PHALANX
--------------------------------------------------------
PHALANX is a rapid fire SUBWEAPON. When equipped, it
will fire numerous rapid fire shots through the area.
Pressing the Circle button hard will cause a direct
shot towards one target, while lightly pressing it
causes a broad range of fire.
This is best used in large crowds of enemies, such as
MOSQUITOs, to take down a lot of them quickly when you
are surrounded by them.
You will receive PHALANX after unlocking the main gate
in CAPRI CANYON.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
7.5 COMET
--------------------------------------------------------
You will receive COMET from Nephtis once you have won
against her in Vascillia. COMET is very useful in the
Vascillia Event, because it is a homing device that
can pierce an enemy's guard. However, it tends to
take up a lot of SUBGAUGE, so use it sparingly.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
7.6 DECOY
--------------------------------------------------------
Once you've defeated the train, you will receive this
SUBWEAPON, DECOY. It will cause the image of Jehuty
to appear, and enemies will target it instead of you.
While the enemy is targetting the DECOY, you can go
after it freely.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
7.7 VECTOR CANNON
--------------------------------------------------------
The long awaited VECTOR CANNON!
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
7.8 WISP
--------------------------------------------------------
Ken will supply you with WISP ("You use weird things")
which is essentially the same as GRAB, except you can
use it from long distances. It will be useful when
grabbing Ardjet, and when you fight the BOSS Zakat,
but otherwise is about as useful as GRAB is.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
7.9 HALBERD
--------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the SUBWEAPONs you probably won't need
to use very often; in fact, I can think of only one
part near the end of the game where I used it.
Anyway, HALBERD is a large, concentrated laser beam
that can take off a ton of health from an enemy very
quickly, provided they don't evade it. Unfortunately,
because the beam is so large, evading it is relatively
easy for an enemy.
You get HALBERD on the way to Fortress City.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
7.10 MUMMY
--------------------------------------------------------
This is the only SUBWEAPON that is beneficial to you,
and is the only way besides METATRON to recharge your
This is in Fortress City.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
7.11 HOMING MISSILES
--------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the best SUBWEAPONs in the game; it is
like the name implies, a homing weapon that will chase
down the enemy, then pierce it's guard and destroy it.
You will get this once you defeat Inhert.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
7.12 FLOATING MINE
--------------------------------------------------------
After defeating Orbital Frame Zakat, you'll receive
the SUBWEAPON FLOATING MINE.
That's the only time I ever used
it.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
7.13 ZERO-SHIFT
--------------------------------------------------------
You first receive ZERO-SHIFT from Inhert, but you will
not be able to use it until after the Battle at Aumaan
Crevasse, when it becomes active.
ZERO-SHIFT is in my opinion the greatest SUBWEAPON you
will get. It allows you to compress space like Anubis
does, and thus you can fly at incredible speeds.
--------------------------------------------------------
******************************************************************************
8. Ex-Mission File Locations
******************************************************************************
There is a total of 19 EX-MISSION FILEs you can find, and they are in 5
different areas of the game (as I have divided them in the walkthrough).
They are in the following locations:
===================
8.1 BAHRAM Ship
===================
After defeating Ardjet, your first BOSS fight, you will enter the BAHRAM
ship. There is one EX-MISSION FILE inside the BAHRAM Ship.
1. Go through the first three rooms. In the third one (with the semi-
hidden CELLAR), kill all the enemies. Before proceeding to the next
room, go BACK to the second room, and the EX-MISSION FILE will be
inside it.
====================
8.2 Margaritifer
====================
Once you evade Nephtis on Deimos Station, you will land on Mars. This is
the desert-like area where you fight Vic Viper, and try to unlock the gate.
There are six EX-MISSION FILEs in this desert area.
2. While fighting Vic Viper, there is a rock formation you can destroy
that is over the entrance to CAPRI CANYON (use the map to see it).
You must be on your second game, with "Equip" chosen. You can use
the WISP subweapon to grab it.
3. Near the METATRON in the battle area, there is a rock formation you
can destroy. The EX-MISSION FILE is inside of it.
4. Between CAPRI CANYON entrance and the METATRON is another rock
formation that you can destroy. Inside of it is the EX-MISSION
FILE.
5. Beneath the wrecked train on the southern part of the map, there is
an EX-MISSION FILE sitting on the ground.
6. While in this area, ADA will say, "Estimated combat time, 90
seconds." Respond to this by pressing the L3 button, and a timer
will appear in the top right corner of the screen. Defeat the
NARITAs on the screen and ADA will praise you. Over the entrance to
CAPRI CANYON, an EX-MISSION FILE will appear.
7. In CAPRI CANYON, while trying to unlock the center gate, on the way
to the left PROTECTIVE LOCK, you will run into a fork in the road.
Go to the left and you will reach a dead end with a METATRON and a
wall of boulders. The EX-MISSION FILE is at this dead end as well.
=====================
8.3 Fortress City
=====================
8. In the first of the three rooms with the retracting pillars, there
is an EX-MISSION FILE in the corner.
9. In the first of the three rooms with the retracting pillars, there
is an EX-MISSION FILE in the corner opposite of the previous one.
10. In the third of the three rooms with the retracting pillars, there
is an EX-MISSION FILE against the wall opposite of the exit. You
may need to kill all the enemies in the room for it to appear.
11. While fighting Inhert for the first time, when you can still see,
fly down to the bottom of the room and an EX-MISSION FILE will be
on the floor.
==========================
8.4 Aumaan Cargo Route
==========================
After the Battle at Aumaan Crevasse, with all the LEVs, you will enter the
Aumaan Cargo Route. This is the first area where you will be able to use
ZERO-SHIFT because you will now have Jehuty Ver. 2. In the Aumaan Cargo
Route, you will find four EX-MISSION FILEs.
12. In the first half of the cargo route, before the CUTSCENE with Ken,
there is a room with a small sheltered area on the ground. Under
this sheltered area is the EX-MISSION FILE. This area has CYCLOPs
and MOSQUITOs in it.
13. In the first half of the cargo route, before the CUTSCENE with Ken,
there is a room with metallic beams going horizontally across the
room. Destroy some of these and the EX-MISSION FILE will appear
near the wall on the left.
14. After seeing the CUTSCENE with Ken, you will be in the second part
of the cargo route. In here there will be a room with a large grey
column standing in the center. The EX-MISSION FILE will be sitting
atop the column.
15. After seeing the CUTSCENE with Ken, you will be in the second part
of the cargo route. Beneath the exit there are two passages blocked
by red lasers. Between them is the EX-MISSION FILE.
=====================
8.5 Phobos/Aumaan
=====================
Once you fight Anubis in Compressed Space, you will land on Phobos. The last
four EX-MISSION FILEs are on the surface of Phobos at this part.
16. When you land on Phobos, don't go over to Anubis' crashed OF. Right
behind you is an EX-MISSION FILE on the surface of Phobos.
17. When you land on Phobos, don't go over to Anubis' crashed OF. Right
above you is an EX-MISSION FILE in the sky.
18. After approaching Anubis, many Nephtis clones will appear from the
crack in the surface. Fight some of them and an EX-MISSION FILE
will appear on the ground to the right of the crack.
19. After the Nephtis clones appear, and you get the previous EX-MISSION
FILE, defeat some more of them and another EX-MISSION FILE will
appear to the left of the crack.
After getting these nineteen files, you will have all of the EX-MISSIONs
unlocked! You can play them by going to the title screen and selecting
"Ex-Missions."
******************************************************************************
9. Boss Strategies
******************************************************************************
This section, like the SUBWEAPON section, will mainly be the Boss strategies
copied to another area. This is so you can access them easier. They may
be modified slightly from the walkthrough section.
-------------------------
| 9.1 Ardjet (Callisto) \
--------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------
| 9.2 Nephtis (BAHRAM Ship) \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Viola AI
--------------------------------------------------------
This fight is even easier than Ardjet. ADA will tell
you to use a physical attack to break the sheilding
that Nephtis is using; use subweapon GRAB to pick up
one of the many steel beams standing vertically upon
the walls. Throw these steel beams at Nephtis once
she's stopped dashing around everywhere, and you'll
take off a small amount of health.
Hit her with three steel beams and you'll be done.
--------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------
| 9.3 Anubis (BAHRAM Ship) \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Nohman
--------------------------------------------------------
This one's impossible to beat; you can try if you'd
like, but eventually, Anubis will win. However, you
can still take off a small portion of his life bar.
--------------------------------------------------------
-----------------
| 9.4 Vic Viper \
--------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------
| 9.5 Nephtis (Capri Canyon) \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Viola AI
--------------------------------------------------------
Once again, you're pitted against Nephtis and the AI
of Viola. And once again you can't hurt Nephtis due
to her energy sheilding. You'll once again need to
use the Subweapon GRAB to break the sheild.
You can grab any of the plates on the wall or on the
pillars in the center, these will work fine. Press
L2 to stop targetting Nephtis, and grab the plates.
When you press L1 to guard with it you should target
Nephtis automatically. Wait until she charges you,
and she will fall back. This is when you can attack
her without worrying about the energy sheilding. If
you want best results, use Gauntlet and hit her into
the walls.
After taking half of her life away, this battle will
shift to the next one.
--------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------
| 9.6 Nephtis (Vascillia Colony) \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Viola AI
--------------------------------------------------------
This battle is the conclusion of the former one, and
Nephtis will start with half of its life bar already
depleted.
Use DASH in the beginning of the battle to get away
from the electric fencing behind you. Stay close to
it, but not too close, because it can pull you up to
it and get you stuck in it.
Nephtis will use SHOT attacks and charge attacks to
try to hurt you but this battle isn't very difficult
at all. When Nephtis charges at you, simply DASH to
the side and she will get entangled in the electric
fence behind you. Take this opportunity to attack in
whatever fashion you please. Eventually Nephtis will
escape from the fence. Just repeat the process.
Also, a sidenote, if you're lucky you can just keep
hitting Nephtis back into the fence repeatedly until
you've won.
--------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------
| 9.7 Nephtis (Vascillia Train) \
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------
| 9.8 Ardjet (Vascillia Train) \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Ken Marinaris
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------
| 9.9 Inhert \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Lloyd
--------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------
| 9.10 Inhert (while blind) \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Lloyd
--------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------
| 9.11 Anubis (Fortress City) \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Nohman
--------------------------------------------------------
You can't win this battle, but you can lose. Just
make sure you aren't hit too much and use your SLASH
Attacks because that's about all that you can really
hit him with. After you bring his health down just a
little bit, you'll go to a CUTSCENE and this battle
ends.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------
| 9.12 Zakat \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: BAHRAM Forces
--------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------
| 9.13 Anubis (Underground Sphere) \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: ???
--------------------------------------------------------
You're once again fighting Anubis, and this time you
have to bring it down to half of its health in order
to proceed further.
This can be done fairly easily now that you have the
new upgrades and Jehuty Ver. 2. Use ZERO-SHIFT when
Anubis moves away, and just slash away using Melee,
and you should be fine. The battle will end shortly
and you'll move on.
--------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------
| 9.14 Anubis (Compressed Space) \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Nohman
--------------------------------------------------------
This is a tough battle.
--------------------------------------------------------
----------------------
| 9.15 Aumaan Anubis \
|--------------------------------------------------------
Pilot: Nohman
--------------------------------------------------------
This battle is a joke.

10. VS Mechs
******************************************************************************
There are ten OFs you can unlock for Versus Mode in the game, and most of
them are fairly easy to get. Some you can get by completing the game,
others you must locate icons for throughout the game. These are called
DOLLs.
===============
10.1 Jehuty
===============
Once you play through the game and reach the BAHRAM Ship, Jehuty will be
unlocked in the VS Mode. This one is possibly the easiest one to unlock in
the game.
=====================
10.2 Jehuty Ver.2
=====================
After beating the game once and creating a CLEAR GAME save, Jehuty Ver.2
will be unlocked for VS Mode.
=======================
10.3 Damaged Jehuty
=======================
After beating the game once and creating a CLEAR GAME save, Damaged Jehuty
will be unlocked for VS Mode.
=====================
10.4 Naked Jehuty
=====================
Naked Jehuty is one of the VS Mechs you must get by defeating it in battle,
then collecting it's DOLL. You can only collect it after beating the game
once. You CANNOT be using Naked Jehuty in the story mode when going for
the DOLL.
While you are in the Aumaan Cargo Route, just before entering the Generator,
you will come across the exit, where there are two passageways blocked off
by red horizontal lasers. Shoot at these lasers to make them disappear.
Go into the newly opened passage and you will find yourself in the Battle
Arena. Look around and you will see Naked Jehuty flying around here. You
must defeat Naked Jehuty in battle for the DOLL to appear.
This battle is not difficult, you should have Jehuty Ver.2 at this point.
Simply use ZERO-SHIFT and SLASH to defeat Naked Jehuty, and you will be
fine. Collect the DOLL from the center of the room and you will be
transported to the next area.
If you are playing through the game as Naked Jehuty, you cannot get this
DOLL.
==================
10.5 Vic Viper
==================
After beating the game once and creating a CLEAR GAME save, Vic Viper will
be unlocked for VS Mode.
===============
10.6 Ardjet
===============
After beating the game once and creating a CLEAR GAME save, Ardjet will be
unlocked for VS Mode.
================
10.7 Nephtis
================
After beating the game once and creating a CLEAR GAME save, Nephtis will be
unlocked for VS Mode.
===============
10.8 Inhert
===============
You have to beat the game once and load a CLEAR GAME save first.
This VS Mech is unlocked by finding another DOLL. It is not necessarily
difficult to find, you just need to look a little bit to find it. Inside
Fortress City, in the second of three rooms with retracting horizontal
pillars, there is a DOLL hidden against the wall in one of the corners.
If you are having trouble finding it (it's tucked away), kill everything in
the room, and then use L2 to toggle between targets. Eventually you will
target on it. It is near the second row of pillars from the top.
** If you have trouble finding it, go to my FAQs section for maps, etc.
======================
10.9 Aumaan Anubis
======================
This is the other DOLL you will need to find. This is another one that you
will need to collect on your second time through the game. When starting
the new game from a CLEAR GAME save, select "Equip" so you will have all the
SUBWEAPONs you ended the game with.
When you are in CAPRI CANYON, on the way to the left PROTECTIVE LOCK, you
will come across a fork in the path. Go to the left at this fork. Near
one of the EX-MISSION FILEs, and a METATRON, there is a wall of boulders.
Land on the ground and use the VECTOR CANNON on these boulders; a new path
will open up.
Enter one of the two ducts here, and you will be inside an Air Duct, where
there are fans spinning throughout. Many enemies will appear here; kill
them if you like, or just continue on.
In the next area, you will be at a power plant. Aumaan Anubis will appear
here; defeat him, it should be easy since you have all your SUBWEAPONs this
time. When he is finished, the DOLL will appear in the center of the area.
Collect it and you will be transported to the next Nephtis Boss Fight.
================
10.10 Anubis
================
After beating the game once and creating a CLEAR GAME save, Anubis will be
unlocked for VS Mode.

11.1 JEHUTY
===============
The following will detail how to beat the EX-MISSION section designated for
Jehuty, the original version (which you play most of the game with). This
has the most of all sections in it.
Jehuty can use everything available except for ZERO-SHIFT, so make use of all
your weaponry well. Other versions of Jehuty will not be so lucky to have
all thise equipment.
-------------------------
11.1a Jehuty > Battle
-------------------------
------------------------------------
11.1aa Jehuty > Battle > Normal
------------------------------------
This is not incredibly difficult. There are six stages for you to beat, I
doubt you'll even need strategies on them. Here are the statistics on each
of the six levels:
Stage 01, Callisto. High: 1:50:00 Personal Best: 1:31:78
Stage 02, BAHRAM Ship. High: 1:40:00 Personal Best: 1:10:51
Stage 03, Mars Field. High: 1:20:00 Personal Best: 0:36:31
Stage 04, Inside Fortress. High: 2:00:00 Personal Best: 1:55:48
Stage 05, Cargo Route. High: 1:50:00 Personal Best: 1:45:75
Stage 06, Aumaan (Phobos) High: 1:00:00 Personal Best: 0:44:08
You should be able to complete these six with no problems at all. Just use
all your abilities and you will be okay.
-----------------------------------------
11.1ab Jehuty > Battle > Close Combat
-----------------------------------------
These five are also pretty easy to beat, if you have trouble let me know, I
will put up some strategies but I don't think you'll need them.
Stage 01, BAHRAM Ship. High: 2:00:00 Personal Best: 1:47:38
Stage 02, Mars Field. High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 1:03:43
Stage 03, Inside Fortress. High: 2:45:00 Personal Best: 1:56:76
Stage 04, Cargo Route. High: 3:00:00 Personal Best: 2:38:46
Stage 05, Aumaan (Phobos) High: 1:15:00 Personal Best: 1:03:06
Like I said these are not difficult. NARITAs may block, use DASH-SLASH to
break their guard. BURST-BLADE works well too.
---------------------------------
11.1ac Jehuty > Battle > Grab
---------------------------------
This can be difficult. You will need to GRAB the enemies and throw them at
each other, or use them as weapons to kill things because you won't have any
other things to attack with.
I didn't have any particular problems with this using Jehuty so I will not
put any strategy, but if you need it ask and I'll put one up.
Stage 01, BAHRAM Ship. High: 1:45:00 Personal Best: 1:10:96
Stage 02, Mars Field. High: 1:15:00 Personal Best: 0:55:26
Stage 03, Inside Fortress. High: 2:30:00 Personal Best: 2:04:81
Stage 04, Cargo Route. High: 2:45:00 Personal Best: 2:22:66
Stage 05, Aumaan (Phobos) High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 0:48:36
These can be difficult, but keep at it and you should be okay. If you get
to a point where no enemies are on the screen, kill the one you're holding
and more should appear.
--------------------------------------
11.1ad Jehuty > Battle > Subweapon
--------------------------------------
You can use various SUBWEAPONs in this section. Because there are different
things to do, I will go into more detail on this one. I had trouble with a
level here so maybe you will too. Here's the info ..
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 01, Callisto. High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 1:24:21
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I had a little bit of trouble with this level. You get to use PHALANX
and COMET in it. You will probably need to repeat this one a bunch of
times as I did. I started by going to the second swarm of MOSQUITOs,
and shot PHALANX back at the second and first swarms (the first should
follow you). Once you clear them, clean up the remaining RAPTORs with
COMET.
There are SUBENERGY fillers that appear but they add 10 seconds to your
score when they are used, so try to use ALL your SUBGAUGE before going
for a refill. Besides that just keep trying, I can't really offer much
else. Sorry.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 02, Mars Field. High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 1:05:05
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Not too difficult. Make sure you keep the NARITAs near the mountains
so GAUNTLET can knock them into the walls. Also they may bump into each
other which causes damage.
You'll need to refill SUBGAUGE at least once so be prepared for the 10
second penalty.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 03, Inside Fortress. High: 2:30:00 Personal Best: 2:11:25
-------------------------------------------------------------------
You get to use HOMING MISSILEs and DECOY in this. I simply used HOMING
MISSILE over and over again until everything was dead, but you can also
place a DECOY between the pillars so enemies will be squashed between
them. The choice is yours.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 04, Cargo Route. High: 3:00:00 Personal Best: 2:26:98
-------------------------------------------------------------------
You will get to use FLOATING MINE and GEYSER in here. Just go up to
the enemies and use FLOATING MINE, it should pop out and hit them and
explode. They will kill most enemies pretty easily.
Use GEYSER on the SPIDERs near the end if you must, then throw FLOATING
MINEs at them to kill them off. SUBENERGY gives you a penalty, keep it
in mind while throwing FLOATING MINEs out.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 05, Aumaan (Phobos). High: 2:00:00 Personal Best: 1:41:70
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stand in one place. Use HALBERD on the enemies as they approach. If
they get too close, ZERO-SHIFT away, then use HALBERD on them again.
SUBENERGY will appear if needed. Remember the penalty.
---------------------------------------
11.1ae Jehuty > Battle > No Lock-On
---------------------------------------
This is a little difficult too, but you must remember that you have BURST as
well, so you can take out enemies as they are approaching you. It depends
on the situation, though. I provided strategies for this section to make
sure.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 01, Callisto. High: 1:20:00 Personal Best: 0:42:00
-------------------------------------------------------------------
When the enemies approach you, charge up a BURST attack and fire it at
them. You should be able to take out large groups easily this way, so
take advantage of it. If the enemies are not killed, finish them off
with regular SHOTs.
Each shot will make the target go towards you a little, and go down as
well. Keep this in mind while firing at them. You'll need to adjust.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 02, Mars Field. High: 4:00:00 Personal Best: 2:55:78
-------------------------------------------------------------------
BURST doesn't work as well here, use it only when the NARITAs are going
towards you. When they arrive, you'll need to use SHOT, because they
will fire back at you -- this makes BURST impossible to charge up.
Kill off one at a time from each group, so there will be less firing at
you. After a few tries you'll get it down and be okay.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 03, Inside Fortress. High: 4:30:00 Personal Best: 3:53:71
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This one isn't very difficult because you can use BURST from far away
without any trouble. When you kill enemies and the next group is below
the pillars, wait for them to open and throw a BURST at them.
You can also go down to their level, and stand in the corners, then
fire BURST and SHOT at them. You will probably do okay in this level.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 04, Cargo Route. High: 2:30:00 Personal Best: 2:13:95
-------------------------------------------------------------------
When the RAPTORs come, just use a BURST on one of them and the whole
group should disappear. This also works on any other group of enemy.
Be sure to use BURST on the MUMMYHEADs, this will kill them so you will
not have to fight them as RAPTORs.
SPIDERs are easily taken out from above, you may want to use SHOT on
them if you have trouble. They will probably be what takes the most
time in this stage.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 05, Aumaan (Phobos). High: 3:30:00 Personal Best: 3:02:35
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The LEOPARDOs here are the most annoying thing in this level because
they move so fast. For them you should use SHOT, but everything else
can be killed with BURST.
Don't let the LEOPARDO get beneath you because it's difficult to hit
them from above. Just let them come close and fire SHOTs at them for
the best results.
---------------------------
11.1b Jehuty > Survival
---------------------------
In Survival you are pitted against an infinite number of enemies. Just keep
fighting them until you're killed, and the tally on the number of enemies
you killed will be recorded, rather than your time in the Battle Mode.
As Jehuty, you can use all your SUBWEAPONs up to HOMING MISSILEs, except for
MUMMY. You also have full use of your HOMING LASERs, SHOT, BURST, DASH, and
BLADE. Be sure to use everything you've got.
At 50 kills, you will receive a METATRON, as well as a LEVEL UP. The next
time this happens will be at 150 kills, then 250, and so on.
The following are individual stage strategies. Note that you can get a very
large number here, mine are pretty low because I was trying to get all the
goals done for the FAQ so I didn't waste time.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 01, Train Tunnel High: 80 Personal Best: 84
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This level is not very difficult. At 50 kills you'll get your METATRON
if you've been having trouble. Use HOMING MISSILEs if you get into a
hairy situation, but be sure not to be close to the ceiling. Also use
HOMING LASERs when your SUBGAUGE gets low.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 02, Vascilia Sky High: 80 Personal Best: 208
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The same strategy applies here. The only thing you may get hung up on
is that you can't reach some of the enemies. There are invisible walls
which they tend to stay just behind so you can't do close range combat.
No worries, just use HOMING MISSILEs or HOMING LASERs, and you should
be okay. But these invisible walls get irritating when you're using
Damaged Jehuty so I thought I'd mention it here.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 03, Underground Sphere High: 80 Personal Best: 113
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Another stage with invisible walls. Just use the same strategy here as
you did with Vascillia Sky and you should be all right. It's pretty
much the same level just different backdrop.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 04, Wind Tunnel High: 70 Personal Best: 98
-------------------------------------------------------------------
There aren't any invisible walls here; the only walls here are the ones
you can see plainly. Just avoid them and be sure nothing's in the way
if you plan to use long range attacks on your foes.
Also be wary of the CLODs, I hate those friggin' things when they grab
you.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 05, Phobos Vicinity High: 80 Personal Best: 131
-------------------------------------------------------------------
There are invisible walls here too, but you usually don't need to worry
about them. Keep up the usual work and you should be okay, just watch
for the LEOPARDOs, they can move pretty quickly.
-----------------------
11.1c Jehuty > Boss
-----------------------
In the Boss portion, you'll get to fight the bosses of the game as Jehuty.
In other words, most of them you'll be repeating as you did in the storyline
mode, except for Anubis and Aumaan Anubis who you used Damaged and Naked
Jehuty for.
Most of my "Personal Best" times are pretty bad, don't bother taking them
seriously. A more realistic time is in the Boss Sequence below, which was
after I developed better strategies for them. In fact, if the information
in this section isn't helpful you may want to look there for additional help.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 01: Ardjet High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 1:29:45
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I barely beat this one in time, but it's because I wasn't being smart
about it. If you DASH towards Ardjet you can use the BURST-BLADE and
break through her shields. (BURST-BLADE = R2 while not moving, then
pressing Square)
Also, use HOMING LASERs to kill the wisps, and dodge her laser attack.
Not a difficult battle, just use the BURST-BLADE to get through it
lot faster.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 02: Nephtis High: 0:30:00 Personal Best: 0:28:18
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Though my score is slow here, you can beat this a lot easier. In fact,
it can be done in less than 7 seconds if you know what you're doing.
Just GRAB a beam from either the wall or the structures on the floor,
and throw them at Nephtis. Three hits and you win. Personally, I find
it easier to GRAB the beams from the structures on the floor, but do
what is easiest for you.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 03: Vic Viper High: 3:15:00 Personal Best: 3:11:41
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Another battle my best could be better in. Use HOMING LASERs when he's
in Flight Mode. When he gets close you can use BLADE to hit him, just
be sure to GUARD when he's trying to combo you. It shouldn't be a tough
win, if you have trouble keep trying and after 2 or 3 tries you should
have it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 04: Nephtis High: 1:45:00 Personal Best: 1:40:45
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Use GRAB on the plates in the center and block her charges. She'll be
repelled back, do a few combos on her and she'll get back to normal. At
this point your best bet is to just use GAUNTLET on her repeatedly. If
she manages to start evading, GRAB another plate and repeat the process
over again.
You should be able to finish this one a lot faster than I did.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 05: Nephtis High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 1:00:91
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This battle can be won in about 35 seconds if you can keep Nephtis from
moving. Let her charge at you and then DASH out of the way. She'll
run into the fence nearby and you can now attack.
When she tries to get free, knock her back into the fence again. I've
actually been able to knock her back the entire battle until she was
dead; you might be able to do it to. If not, GAUNTLET can knock her
back against it too.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 06: Nephtis High: 2:10:00 Personal Best: 1:37:18
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This one you can do pretty quickly too, but usually it takes me a long
time. Basically you just GRAB a CLOD, GUARD with it, let Nephtis run
into you, then do either a combo or use GAUNTLET.
If you do a combo, knock her backwards, DASH, then do another combo.
If you can time it right (basically go as fast as you can), then you'll
be able to repeat this process until you win.
However, usually she'll get away. Try to hit her with GAUNTLET there,
and start with the CLODs again.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 07: Ardjet(Viola AI) High: 3:00:00 Personal Best: 2:37:50
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The fastest I think it's possible to win this battle is about 1:35:00
to 1:37:00, and that's if you GRAB her every time you possibly can. If
you don't you still have plenty of time to win, actually the time you
need to win is double the fastest you can finish.
When Ardjet tries to SLASH at you, cross swords by pressing Square when
her BLADE is near her shoulder. The first time it will take one cross,
next two, then 3 - 4 for the rest. Between each crossing of the swords
Ardjet will do one of two attacks.
The first attack is Wisp, just block it and back away slowly until she
uses the swords on you. The other is the laser beam, just hide around
the corner.
Don't stray too far away or the Viola AI will begin to damage Ardjet.
This usually isn't much of a problem, though.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 08: Inhert High: 5:30:00 Personal Best: 5:06:13
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Inhert took me forever, but in the Boss Sequence I was able to get it
down to atleast 3:15:00 most of the time. In the first half of this,
use DECOY to trick Inhert into slowing down -- go attack him when he
isn't paying attention. I usually finish the first half around 1:37,
you may be able to do better.
The second half takes a while just because you have to play on Lloyd's
terms; that is, you have to wait until he appears to attack him. Just
follow ADA's directions and wait for him to arrive. Block his first 3
attacks, then counter the fourth; continue with a combo. It will take
a while but you should be able to finish this battle under the time
limit fairly easily.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 09: Zakat High: 3:00:00 Personal Best: 1:36:73
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Zakat is pretty easy, just fly into the inner area and SLASH at his
tail cannon thing. Usually you can get in one or two combos before he
will run away the first time. Catch up and GRAB the plates around the
sides, and use them as shields against the laser cannons.
When you pull all of the grabbable ones off the sides, fly in for more
SLASHing. Use the plates as weapons if you can. Repeat the process;
it should take maybe two rounds of the plate-grabbing before you finish
the first half of this battle.
After the first half of Zakat's life is gone, he'll switch to Formation
2. Just use HOMING LASERs on this one, it will break the shield, and
can destroy the tiny bombs that appear. Just stay above it, and try to
avoid the laser cannons. Keep it up, you'll be fine.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 10: Anubis High: 7:15:00 Personal Best: 6:56:60
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This one usually takes a while. Use ZERO-SHIFT and DASH-SLASH at him.
You can usually get one or two hits on him before he disappears. Once
he disappears, he'll reappear, then disappear again; go after him this
time.
After you get his health to half, he'll begin to do more close range
combat on you; take advantage of it and counter, get a few hits in.
When Anubis' health reaches the red level, he'll go back to BURST
attacks, so take over the ZERO-SHIFT strategy again.
This is a slow battle, but if you want tips on how to make it go even
faster, take a look below at the Boss Sequence strategy. It's generally
the same, minus ZERO-SHIFT. It may work better for you.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 11: Aumaan Anubis High: 6:00:00 Personal Best: 5:43:00
-------------------------------------------------------------------
You shouldn't have any problem here. Use ZERO-SHIFT, then either a
DASH-SLASH or BURST-BLADE on him when you catch up. Fire a HOMING
LASER before ZERO-SHIFTing again -- this will prevent any BURST attacks
from hitting you.
There really isn't any strategy to this besides that pattern. Keep the
pattern up and you can actually win this battle in about 2 - 3 minutes.
It really isn't very difficult at all.
-------------------------------------------
11.1d Jehuty > Boss Sequence > Stage 01
-------------------------------------------
This will be one of the more difficult tasks; you must defeat EVERY boss in
the game without dying. You will be supplied METATRONs throughout, but once
you reach the second half of the Inhert battle, you won't be able to get any
METATRONs. Be sure to conserve your energy.
The entire sequence of Bosses must be finished in under 26 minutes to get
the High Score, but this is not very difficult, in my opinion. The only
problem you may have is with Anubis, but if you can beat him in under 4:15
with Damaged Jehuty, you should have no problem doing it here.
The following is my personal best when I completed it. Note, you can do a
lot better in some of these, for example Nephtis_3 & Nephtis_4 could be done
a little faster.
Ardjet_1 0:40:95
Nephtis_1 0:14:45
Vic Viper 2:37:86
Nephtis_2 0:40:40
Nephtis_3 1:01:15
Nephtis_4 1:18:25
Ardjet_2 1:36:20
Inhert 4:07:66
Zakat 2:32:06
Anubis 3:32:11
Aumaan Anubis 3:22:98
--------------------------
TOTAL 21:44:07
------------------------------------------
Ardjet_1 Personal Time: 0:40:95
------------------------------------------
This battle is pretty easy. You can use any strategy you want, like the one
I gave in the walkthrough. Basically it says to wait until after she uses
Wisps or her Lasers to go charge in. You can do this, then DASH forward,
then get in a few combos on her.
You can also speed this battle up by using the BURST SLASH. Charge up your
BURST when Ardjet is closeby. When she gets close, tap the Square button
and you will go through her force field and hit her. This will do a lot of
damage, and it will cut about one minute from your battle time.
------------------------------------------
Nephtis_1 Personal Time: 0:14:45
------------------------------------------
You can do this one in about 10 seconds, just GRAB the steel beams and throw
them at her. There really is no strategy to it, so just do your best. Try
to keep it under thirty seconds.
------------------------------------------
Vic Viper Personal Time: 2:37:86
------------------------------------------
This fight should take from 2:30 to 3:00, if anyone knows a faster way,
please feel free to email me. The way I do this is use HOMING LASERs a lot,
while he is in Flight Mode. If he slows down then it will usually hit him,
this will probably take off a lot of his health.
Otherwise, when he gets close to you in his OF mode, block until he does the
really fast combo then SLASH back at him. If he falls back, DASH to him and
do another combo or two on him. He likes to guard a lot, but you should be
able to finish him pretty easily.
------------------------------------------
Nephtis_2 Personal Time: 0:40:40
------------------------------------------
This battle is also easy, and if you need to you can grab a METATRON near
the area that Nephtis charges you into in storyline mode. However at this
point your health should be at or close to maximum, so don't bother taking
the METATRON, it will give you a penalty of ten seconds.
GRAB one of the panels from the center and let Nephtis charge you, when she
falls back, DASH forward and then let go of R2. Do a combo, DASH, then do
another combo. After the second combo, she will put up her shield. If she
is close to a wall you can just slam her with GAUNTLET over and over again,
or you can just GRAB another panel. Either way the battle should end soon.
------------------------------------------
Nephtis_3 Personal Time: 1:01:15
------------------------------------------
I've actually won this battle in about 20 seconds before, but not the time
I beat the sequence. If you can do it, great, but if not don't worry about
it, you should try to keep it around a minute though.
Use your guard until she turns red, then DASH to the side and she will hit
the fence behind you. If you position yourself in front of her and do a few
combos, you should be able to knock her back into the fence RIGHT after she
gets free, and just keep doing that until you kill her.
If she gets free, DASH around her and use GAUNTLET to push her back into the
fence. Then do combos. Remember, if she gets towards the middle of the
arena, your best bet is to wait until she charges.
Keep it up, you shouldn't really need to cure yourself yet, but your health
doesn't need to be at maximum.
------------------------------------------
Nephtis_4 Personal Time: 1:18:25
------------------------------------------
This one can be completed in under 30 seconds if you're lucky, I've only
been able to do that once. Anyway, SLASH at a CLOD, then GRAB it while it
is stunned. Use R2 to make it stop escaping, then guard when Nephtis tries
to charge at you. She will hit it and be stunned.
At this point, DASH towards her and do a combo, she'll be sent backwards. If
you can DASH again and do another combo, great. Keep doing that as long as
you can, I've actually beaten the entire battle doing this. That is how you
beat it in under 30 seconds.
If you have trouble with that, don't worry about it, just keep doing the
CLOD thing and you should be okay. Use GAUNTLET on her too, you should be
able to hit her with it two or three times before she runs off. Try to keep
this battle under 1 minute 40 seconds if possible, but you shouldn't have
trouble with that.
Also, there is a METATRON in here if you need it, but you shouldn't need it
just yet.
------------------------------------------
Ardjet_2 Personal Time: 1:36:20
------------------------------------------
The fastest you can beat this battle is about 1:35 - 1:37 because you have
to play on Viola AI's terms. If you don't mess up you can do this, it is
not too hard.
When you start the battle, you only need to cross swords once to GRAB her.
This is easy, just press Square when Ardjet's sword is at her shoulder. If
you do it right she will fall back. GRAB her and hold R2 (supposedly it'll
go faster) and ADA will delete the AI.
Right after you let go the first time, she will slash at you again, cross
swords twice and you can GRAB her again. Delete some more. She will then
use Wisp on you, use your guard to deflect it. Be sure to back away slowly
so she doesn't get too close to you. When the target becomes purple, all
the Wisps are dead, be ready to cross swords.
Cross them 3 times and she will fall back, then you can GRAB and delete. If
you get it (even if you don't) she will then charge her laser at you. Don't
bother guarding, just DASH around a corner and let her shoot the wall. When
the target turns purple, DASH forward towards Ardjet and prepare to cross
swords.
She will repeat this, lasers, wisp, lasers, wisp, etc. When you need to hit
her only once more, you will have to cross swords four times. If you can't
get this one, at least keep it below 2 minutes 40 seconds.
------------------------------------------
Inhert Personal Time: 4:07:66
------------------------------------------
This will take the longest of all the battles. It is also the last time you
can get a METATRON. I suggest using DECOY (thank Invader Zorka for that
one), and attacking Inhert. The combo-DASH-combo-DASH works about 3 times
and then he will run away.
When Inhert's health is almost at half, go to the bottom of the room, in one
of the corners is a METATRON. Even if your health isn't low, I would go and
get it, just because this is the last time you can get it.
Now go hit Inhert and you will go to the next part of the battle. This part
will take a long time, try to get to it within 1 minute 30 seconds if at all
possible.
This is the part where you're blind, listen to ADA's comments and follow her
advice. If Lloyd begins talking instead of ADA, DASH to either the left or
right sides, and you should be okay.
When Inhert approaches, he will do a four-hit combo, the last hit will be
strong (he will glow red) and break your guard if you are using it. You
should guard the first three hits, and when his hands are above his head,
strike at him. You will counter the strong attack, then you can get in a
few hits on him before he runs off. He will do the combo 2 - 4 times before
you have to catch up to him again.
This battle will be the longest one. In total on it (both halves), you may
want to keep it under 5 minutes. Try to keep it under 4 if you can though,
but 5 is okay too. Try to keep your health above half if possible.
------------------------------------------
Zakat Personal Best: 2:32:06
------------------------------------------
Zakat is still as easy as he was in the storyline mode, possibly even easier
than then. Try to beat this in under 2 minutes, but I took 2:32 so it is
fine if you're under 3 minutes as well.
When you start, Zakat will shoot from the main cannon, DASH to the left and
press X, you can actually go under the beam if you want. DASH into the
center and SLASH away at Zakat's cannon-tail thing, it will run away after a
while.
Catch up to it, attack it if possible. If not, GRAB (or WISP) one of the
panels on the side and use it as a shield against the cannons. Move with
Zakat to stay near other panels. Throw away the one you have and GRAB a
second, throw it and GRAB the third to use as a shield. After the lasers
die down, GRAB the last one (I think, there may be one more) and either rush
in to attack, using the panel as a weapon, OR use the panel to block the
main cannon.
When you get to Formation 2, stay above Zakat and use HOMING LASERs. This is
all you really need to use, it will break the shield there. When Zakat uses
the gravity ball thing just evade it. Try to stay under the spinning rings
because they can shoot lasers at you.
Use your HOMING LASERs on the purple bombs, as well as the head portion of
Zakat. When nothing is around, SLASH the head, keep it up and the battle
will end soon.
Try to beat this boss without getting hit at all, or at least keep your
health bar around half. It will restore itself a little for the next battle
(as it always does).
------------------------------------------
Anubis Personal Best: 3:32:11
------------------------------------------
This is where I got stuck most of the time. I personally do not use the
subweapon ZERO-SHIFT in this because you need to have more control over your
Orbital Frame since you don't have the ability to guard anymore.
When Anubis appears, it will disappear then reappear somewhere else. Watch
the direction his shadow goes, and then follow it while DASHing. If he is
close, he'll attack you, if not, he'll charge a BURST attack. Charge to him
while the sound it makes is steady, when it beeps fast, DASH to the side to
avoid it. The closer you are, the easier it is to avoid. DASH-SLASH him
(hold R2 while moving, then press Square) to hit him at least once. He will
usually run away after that one hit but sometimes you can get a few more in.
You can also ZERO-SHIFT here if you want, ZERO-SHIFT towards him, but during
the ZERO-SHIFT, press down to pull back a little so you can avoid the BURST
attack he is charging. It is more difficult to do this, that's why I stick
to using DASH.
If Anubis uses his regular SHOT attack you should use ZERO-SHIFT and press
down to evade it, because you can't block them. This is very dangerous, be
sure to stay away from them.
When his bar turns yellow he will begin to charge and SLASH at you. Take
this opportunity to get lots of his health down. When he reaches the red
part, he will use the BURST attack a lot more.
Beating this battle is easy, try not getting hit at all if possible. It is
possible, but if you do get hit, don't worry. Just keep your health over
half and you should be okay. Try to finish this battle under 4 minutes and
30 seconds if you can. Under 4 minutes is even better.
------------------------------------------
Amn_Anubis Personal Best: 3:22:98
------------------------------------------
This one I died at a few times too, but it's pretty easy if you think about
it. It just takes a strict pattern to beat. You should ZERO-SHIFT towards
him, DASH-SLASH, then ZERO-SHIFT at him again.
After you get about half of his life down he will begin using his BURST
attack a little more frequently. This is where you need to begin using the
HOMING LASERs. When he ZERO-SHIFTs, use your HOMING LASERs, ZERO-SHIFT, and
DASH-SLASH. Repeat this over and over, you should be all right.
This can be done in under 2 minutes if you're lucky. Depending on how you
did in the other battles, try to keep it under 4 minutes. Under 3 minutes
is even better though.
------------------------------------------
Overall TOTAL: 21:44:07
------------------------------------------
You should be able to get your total pretty low, the first time I finished
this (the only time I finished it .. ) I got my 21:44:07 time. You should
be able to do just as well, if not, you have about 4 minutes to spare from
my time.
If you are having any trouble, or you've got a better strategy, please let
me know, I'll put it in here and give you credit for it. Thanks and good
luck.
=====================
11.2 JEHUTY VER.2
=====================
This section tells you how to beat the section for Jehuty Ver.2. In the
main story, Jehuty Ver.2 is the version of Jehuty you use after the giant
LEV battle, once you've installed ZERO-SHIFT completely.
Jehuty Ver.2 can use everything you get in the game, making this one possibly
the easiest of all the sections to do.
-------------------------------
11.2a Jehuty Ver.2 > Battle
-------------------------------
As with Jehuty, there is a Battle Mode with five different sections within
it. I will go into detail on some of them, but since Jehuty Ver.2 is the
easiest version to use, I won't give complete strategies for every single
level in some cases.
-----------------------------------------
11.2aa Jehuty Ver.2 > Battle > Normal
-----------------------------------------
Normal battle with Jehuty Ver.2 is incredibly easy, so for this section I'm
only going to list the times you need to beat, as well as my personal bests
for that stage. Here goes.
Stage 01, Callisto. High: 2:00:00 Personal Best: 1:33:18
Stage 02, BAHRAM Ship. High: 1:00:00 Personal Best: 0:37:96
Stage 03, Mars Field. High: 1:15:00 Personal Best: 0:37:53
Stage 04, Inside Fortress. High: 2:30:00 Personal Best: 1:54:18
Stage 05, Cargo Route. High: 3:00:00 Personal Best: 1:39:36
Stage 06, Aumaan (Phobos). High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 0:37:08
Not too difficult. I'm sure you can probably get better times than I did,
I didn't really try to beat my first high scores ...
-----------------------------------------------

11.2ab Jehuty Ver.2 > Battle > Close Combat
-----------------------------------------------
This is also pretty easy, so I'm not going to go in-depth on it either, just
supplying the times like I've done in previous sections. Sorry for the lack
of strategy, there just isn't the need for it.
Stage 01, BAHRAM Ship. High: 1:10:00 Personal Best: 0:56:38
Stage 02, Mars Field. High: 1:00:00 Personal Best: 0:39:20
Stage 03, Inside Fortress. High: 3:30:00 Personal Best: 2:32:68
Stage 04, Cargo Route. High: 3:00:00 Personal Best: 2:29:61
Stage 05, Aumaan (Phobos). High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 0:36:38
As you can see most of them were beaten by at least a thirty second margin,
so if that isn't any indication ... they are pretty easy.
---------------------------------------
11.2ac Jehuty Ver.2 > Battle > Grab
---------------------------------------
In this you can only use GRAB to kill your enemies. Remember you can use
your enemy as a weapon, throw them, or use BURST to kill them immediately
while holding them.
You should use them as weapons against each other until there's only one
enemy left, then kill it by charging BURST. This works pretty well, in my
opinion.
Here are the scores you will need to beat ..
Stage 01, BAHRAM Ship. High: 2:15:00 Personal Best: 1:01:00
Stage 02, Mars Field. High: 1:45:00 Personal Best: 0:53:55
Stage 03, Inside Fortress. High: 4:30:00 Personal Best: 2:28:90
Stage 04, Cargo Route. High: 4:00:00 Personal Best: 2:06:40
Stage 05, Aumaan (Phobos). High: 3:00:00 Personal Best: 1:46:25
These are all easy, so you shouldn't need it, but good luck.
--------------------------------------------
11.2ad Jehuty Ver.2 > Battle > Subweapon
--------------------------------------------
Jehuty Ver.2's SUBENERGY goes down a lot slower than Jehuty's, so you could
get through some of these without refilling at all. In fact, I could just
leave out strategies here, but I'll put them in for the sake of doing so.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 01, Callisto. High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 1:13:58
-------------------------------------------------------------------
After playing this with Jehuty, I thought it might be difficult, but
since your SUBENERGY goes down so much slower it really isn't much of
a problem. The "strategy" here is to just hold down the Circle button
and use PHALANX. Press it lightly for large groups, hard for single
enemies. Don't get the SUBENERGY unless you need it - you won't.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 02, Mars Field. High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 0:58:65
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Same as above, just keep pressing Circle button using GAUNTLET. You
won't run out of SUBENERGY unless you miss a LOT.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 03, Inside Fortress. High: 3:00:00 Personal Best: 1:06:98
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Make sure you aren't too close to the ceiling, or that any pillars are
just overhead. Using your HOMING MISSILEs makes this easy, just don't
let them hit the roof. Your SUBENERGY shouldn't be a problem, but if
it is, you'll have plenty of time left, so don't worry about a penalty
for refilling it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 04, Cargo Route. High: 3:00:00 Personal Best: 1:48:35
-------------------------------------------------------------------
You will get to use FLOATING MINE and GEYSER in here. Just go up to
the enemies and use FLOATING MINE, it should pop out and hit them and
explode. They will kill most enemies pretty easily.
Yep, same as Jehuty. You won't need to refill your SUBENERGY unless
you mess this up pretty bad, but don't worry about it, 3 minutes is a
lot of time to get this one done.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 05, Aumaan (Phobos). High: 0:50:00 Personal Best: 0:38:35
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stand in one place. Use HALBERD on the enemies as they approach. You
won't need to use ZERO-SHIFT really, but if you want to get away you
can. The only thing that will give you trouble is the LEOPARDO, they
might be tough to hit. Also watch out for the first batch with the
CYCLOPs, he'll probably hit you right away if you're not paying
attention.
That's it for Subweapons. It isn't tough, really, just follow those brief
tips and you'll be okay.
---------------------------------------------
11.2ae Jehuty Ver.2 > Battle > No Lock-On
---------------------------------------------
These are also pretty easy, just like the other No Lock-On. Because they
are so similar, I'm not going to give any particular strategy here except to
look back at Jehuty's strategy here. It isn't really that different at all.
Also, here are the required times.
Stage 01, Callisto. High: 2:00:00 Personal Best: 1:12:38
Stage 02, Mars Field. High: 2:15:00 Personal Best: 1:02:41
Stage 03, Inside Fortress. High: 4:30:00 Personal Best: 3:42:50
Stage 04, Cargo Route. High: 5:00:00 Personal Best: 4:53:70
Stage 05, Aumaan (Phobos). High: 3:30:00 Personal Best: 1:54:35
I don't really remember having problems but Stage 04 looks like it may have
been close for me. I don't think there were any particular problems for me
with it, but if strategy is needed let me know and I'll try to figure out
something.
---------------------------------
11.2b Jehuty Ver.2 > Survival
---------------------------------
This is pretty easy, I really had no trouble with it at all. After 50 kills
you will get a METATRON and a level up, the next one isn't going to appear
until you reach 150 kills, if I remember correctly.
Basically the strategy for each level is to use HOMING MISSILEs when things
get difficult, just watch the SUBENERGY. I'd say kill about 25 or 30 on
your own before going to HOMING MISSILEs, so you can get the METATRON and
refill, but do whatever you like.
Here's the statistics, as promised ...
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 01, Train Tunnel High: 80 Personal Best: 140
Stage 02, Vascilia Sky High: 80 Personal Best: 154
Stage 03, Underground Sphere High: 80 Personal Best: 145
Stage 04, Wind Tunnel High: 70 Personal Best: 86
Stage 05, Phobos Vicinity High: 80 Personal Best: 92
-------------------------------------------------------------------
That's about it. You shouldn't have any problems but if you do just get as
cheap as you can with the HOMING MISSILEs and you'll be all right.
------------------------------------
11.2c Jehuty Ver.2 > Boss Battle
------------------------------------
Partly because I am lazy, partly because the strategy is the same, I'm going
to say to look up the Jehuty Boss Battle section, because essentially it's
the same, but with different times.
The times should not be that much more difficult to do, because Jehuty Ver.2
is much more powerful than regular Jehuty, so this extra power should make
up for the limited time in which you have to win the battle.
Here are the stats:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 01: Ardjet High: 1:00:00 Personal Best: 0:39:23
Stage 02: Nephtis High: 0:50:00 Personal Best: 0:32:45
Stage 03: Vic Viper High: 2:10:00 Personal Best: 1:56:28
Stage 04: Nephtis High: 1:15:00 Personal Best: 0:35:66
Stage 05: Nephtis High: 1:15:00 Personal Best: 0:20:80
Stage 06: Nephtis High: 2:00:00 Personal Best: 1:59:06
Stage 07: Ardjet(Viola AI) High: 2:30:00 Personal Best: 1:35:50
Stage 08: Inhert High: 3:45:00 Personal Best: 3:00:93
Stage 09: Zakat High: 1:45:00 Personal Best: 1:14:46
Stage 10: Anubis High: 4:20:00 Personal Best: 4:08:66
Stage 11: Aumaan Anubis High: 6:00:00 Personal Best: 4:49:21
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope that the above strategies are okay for this section as well. If not
someone email me and I'll go through this again.
=======================
11.3 DAMAGED JEHUTY
=======================
Damaged Jehuty is the version of Jehuty you use during your battle while in
compressed space with Anubis. Damaged Jehuty cannot use SHOT, or the HOMING
LASERs You also cannot throw BURST attacks, though you can BURST-SLASH.
Basically, Jehuty's long range attacks are no longer available.
---------------------------------
11.3a Damaged Jehuty > Battle
---------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
11.3aa Damaged Jehuty > Battle > Normal
-------------------------------------------
Because you can no longer use your long range attacks, you must rely more on
SUBWEAPONs. Below are strategies for the following Normal Battle mode using
Damaged Jehuty.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 01, Callisto. High: 2:30:00 Personal Best: 1:29:71
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This is essentially the same as the SUBWEAPON challenge for Jehuty. To
win this one, use your regular melee BLADE attacks on the RAPTORs who
appear. To kill the MOSQUITOs that are near the beginning, use PHALANX
and try to spread it out so you don't waste too much SUB energy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 02, BAHRAM ship. High: 2:00:00 Personal Best: 1:13:26
-------------------------------------------------------------------
In the beginning use the DASH-BLADE combo to take out the SPIDERs in
the first room. They use their sheilds a lot so this will break it.
Use similar tactics against the RAPTORs. In the second room, kill the
CELLAR and then clean up the MOSQUITOs using PHALANX. In the last
room, kill the CELLAR then finish the rest off. Beware the MUMMY's
lasers, they can hurt you since you have to go in close to kill them.
Alternatively you can use HOMING MISSILES.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 03, Mars Field. High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 0:43:76
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Use HOMING MISSILEs like nuts.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 04, Inside Fortress. High: 3:00:00 Personal Best: 1:00:70
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, use your HOMING MISSILEs like a madman. If you run out of your
SUB energy then kill some of the RAPTORs or CLODs in the area with
melee attacks then go back to killing everything with the HOMING
MISSILEs.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 05, Cargo Route. High: 2:30:00 Personal Best: 1:05:70
-------------------------------------------------------------------
HOMING MISSILEs! Do the same strategy as Stage 4 and you should be all
right.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 06, Aumaan (Phobos). High: 1:00:00 Personal Best: 0:27:75
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, HOMING MISSILEs.
-------------------------------------------------
11.3ab Damaged Jehuty > Battle > Close Combat
-------------------------------------------------
These are all essentially the same strategy -- just mash the Square button!
Okay, so you may need to do more than that, but that's all there is to it
really. Try BURST-BLADE or DASH-BLADE to speed things up. And in Stage 01
kill the CELLAR fast before too many MOSQUITOs get out! Here are the times
and my best for the Close Combat section of Damaged Jehuty.
Stage 01, BAHRAM Ship. High: 2:15:00 Personal Best: 1:18:76
Stage 02, Mars Field. High: 2:00:00 Personal Best: 1:45:13
Stage 03, Inside Fortress. High: 3:45:00 Personal Best: 3:16:36
Stage 04, Cargo Route. High: 3:30:00 Personal Best: 2:50:40
Stage 05, Aumaan (Phobos). High: 2:15:00 Personal Best: 1:48:90
-----------------------------------------
11.3ac Damaged Jehuty > Battle > Grab
-----------------------------------------
Some of these are incredibly difficult, ESPECIALLY the Inside Fortress level.
It took me almost a week to beat that one, and I've pretty much destroyed my
controller trying to beat it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 01, BAHRAM ship. High: 2:00:00 Personal Best: 1:17:30
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The first room has SPIDERs and RAPTORs; use them against each other,
either by throwing or swinging them. This room shouldn't take too long
to complete, then you move on to the next with the MOSQUITOs and CELLAR.
Immediately grab a steel bar from the ground or wherever and start to
swing at the CELLAR. If you're lucky only a few MOSQUITOs will be able
to get out. Mop them up with the bar and continue to the next room.
Grab a new bar if you need it and just mop up the rest of the enemies
in here. Don't forget the CELLAR near the bottom.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 02, Mars Field. High: 1:45:00 Personal Best: 1:04:26
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The only enemy here is the NARITA. They usually come in groups of two
or three; grab one of them as soon as possible and just swing it like
mad at the other two. If you're lucky you'll kill both of the others
before the third escapes; if it gets away just grab the nearest one and
swing again. When you kill the other two, the one you're holding
should have a little life left; throw it into a canyon wall to finish
it off. Repeat this until you're done. And watch out for their combo
attacks, they can be deadly with Damaged Jehuty.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 03, Inside Fortress. High: 4:20:00 Personal Best: 3:55:13
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I HATE this one. This is the hardest part in the game, folks. Well,
I think so anyway. You can't use R1 blocking so you've pretty much got
no cover. You also have to be sure to watch for the columns.
I honestly can't give you a lot of help on this one. I beat it and
just barely was able to and that was a few months ago. I'm not as good
as I was back when I first started the guide (I took a break from this
last section).
All I can say is, go in and grab the CYCLOPS or RAPTORs near the
beginning and use them as weapons. Make sure you ALWAYS watch where
you are, and never try to grab a MUMMYHEAD unless you have to. Most
of the time, they will use their double-bar-laser thing at you when you
get close, and that will kill you VERY quick. If you see METATRON, use
it and don't worry about the time penalty. I think I made it through
using one (maybe two) METATRONs.
I really apologize that I can't get you any more strategy on this one.
I'll see what I can do but more than likely I won't be able to do it.
I'd say if you want more help, check the "Additional Help" section for
a bunch of other helping sources. I'm really sorry about this.
Mostly I think this level involves luck; so, good luck with it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 04, Cargo Route. High: 3:40:00 Personal Best: 2:39:55
-------------------------------------------------------------------
You'll start with some RAPTORs. Not tough. Grab one and swing it
around then throw it at a wall. Repeat the same for the CYCLOPs who
appear next. The gate will open next, if you have an enemy still,
throw it at one of the MUMMYHEADs then grab that one. Use it as a
weapon, but be careful not to drop it or get caught in the other
MUMMYHEADs lasers. Throw them if you can't get close to the others.
When you get to the last room, there will be plenty of spiders; kill
them all by swinging one or two of them and a batch of CYCLOPs and
RAPTORs will appear. Then more SPIDERs. It will seem endless, but
you should grab one and stick with it. If it tries to break away,
then use R2 on it; BURST will stop them from moving.
If you're having trouble grabbing some of these enemies (sometimes
it's difficult to get close) try to DASH around them when they throw
a punch and then use grab. It usually works. Then whack away!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 05, Aumaan (Phobos). High: 2:15:00 Personal Best: 1:44:21
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This isn't that difficult. Remember to grab and use swing. Also
remember that if you grab a MUMMYHEAD then kill everything with it,
you'll have to throw it into a wall to kill it; more than likely it'll
turn into a RAPTOR if you do this. Your best bet is to grab a RAPTOR
or CYCLOPs and use it on the MUMMYHEADs. The LEOPARDO is fast, so try
to throw something big at it if you can.
Also, grabbing a MUMMYHEAD or two isn't terrible. If you have trouble
with the LEOPARDO (I think there's only one) then try throwing a
MUMMYHEAD. It's big enough to hit it, usually.
----------------------------------------------
11.3ad Damaged Jehuty > Battle > Subweapon
----------------------------------------------
If you're going in order, this is a very nice break from Damaged Jehuty's
GRAB missions. The subweapon section lets you use the subweapons only, but
you have UNLIMITED SUBGAUGE! So you can waste your SUBWEAPONs as much as
you want.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 01, Callisto. High: 1:15:00 Personal Best: 0:57:20
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Use PHALANX on the MOSQUITOs. Press lightly to kill a broad range, and
hard to direct towards one target. Use COMET to get rid of the pairs of
RAPTORs that appear.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 02, Mars Field. High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 0:59:08
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Easy. GAUNTLET everything to death.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 03, Inside Fortress. High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 1:06:83
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Use HOMING MISSILEs like crazy. Make sure you aren't close to the roof,
or they'll just hit it and blow up. Also watch for pillars, and make
sure the MISSILEs aren't hitting pillars above you.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 04, Cargo Route. High: 2:05:00 Personal Best: 1:11:30
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I never used GEYSER in this one. My tactics involved flying up to the
target and throwing an F. MINE right into it's face. The F. MINE won't
hurt you, so you should be okay with this. Do it fast and you'll beat
this no problem.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 05, Aumaan (Phobos). High: 1:10:00 Personal Best: 0:46:65
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stay in one spot, preferably high up. Use HALBRED to damage enemies as
they come towards you. Don't worry about SUBGAUGE, just keep holding
the Circle button. You won't have problems until the LEOPARDO show up.
They like to get right under you; I suggest using DASH or ZERO-SHIFT
to get far away, then go back to using HALBERD on them.
-----------------------------------
11.3b Damaged Jehuty > Survival
-----------------------------------
The strategy here (as it is in Naked Jehuty's) is to ZERO-SHIFT, BLADE,
auto-target, ZERO-SHIFT, BLADE, auto-target, repeat. Use this pattern
and you can kill a very LARGE number of enemies.
METATRON will appear at 75 kills, followed by 150, I think. Correct me
if I'm wrong. You won't need to get to 150, but if you wanted to, then
that's when the METATRON would reappear.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 01, Train Tunnel High: 70 Personal Best: 132
Stage 02, Vascilia Sky High: 70 Personal Best: 91
Stage 03, Underground Sphere High: 70 Personal Best: 74
Stage 04, Wind Tunnel High: 60 Personal Best: 64
Stage 05, Phobos Vicinity High: 70 Personal Best: 97
-------------------------------------------------------------------
If you get caught at a part, where you cannot reach an enemy because of
an "invisible wall" press L2 to target something else, then ZERO-SHIFT to
it and kill it. Then pick up the pattern and eventually that enemy will
re-enter the field and you'll probably kill it without noticing.
--------------------------------------
11.3c Damaged Jehuty > Boss Battle
--------------------------------------
Most of these involve close range attacks anyway, so it doesn't matter that
your long range is gone. Also, the time goals are larger to make up for
this. The only thing I had problems with was Ardjet's WISP, which I usually
blocked. This time I just let them hit me and I was okay. You should be
too.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 01: Ardjet High: 1:30:00 Personal Best: 0:57:30
Stage 02: Nephtis High: 0:40:00 Personal Best: 0:22:81
Stage 03: Vic Viper High: 5:00:00 Personal Best: 4:02:43
Stage 04: Nephtis High: 1:45:00 Personal Best: 1:32:08
Stage 05: Nephtis High: 1:40:00 Personal Best: 0:26:11
Stage 06: Nephtis High: 2:00:00 Personal Best: 1:49:08
Stage 07: Ardjet(Viola AI) High: 2:30:00 Personal Best: 1:42:26
Stage 08: Inhert High: 3:40:00 Personal Best: 2:26:60
Stage 09: Zakat High: 3:00:00 Personal Best: 2:40:75
Stage 10: Anubis High: 4:15:00 Personal Best: 3:56:56
Stage 11: Aumaan Anubis High: 7:00:00 Personal Best: 2:23:20
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I vaguely remember Anubis giving me some trouble, but I used the same battle
tactics as I used in the others and I was okay. It just took a while, so if
you have problems just be persistent and you'll get it.
=====================
11.4 NAKED JEHUTY
=====================
Coming soon. Hopefully.
==================
11.5 VIC VIPER
==================
This was the most god-awful thing in the game. I was absolutely terrible at
it. If you're pretty good at it then you won't have trouble, but I was bad.
I can't offer that much of a strategy in this thing. I managed to get third
place on my own, but that was my best.
I'll admit though, it was kind of fun.
Anyway, the name is Zoradius (ZOne + gRADIUS = Zoradius) and it's a space
shooter thing. The controls are given at the very beginning before you play
the actual game (at the Zoradius title screen).
I cannot offer any help but this - I used Soliduous' guide on it, and it
helped a lot. You can find it at GameFAQs.com, and it's totally awesome. I
wish I could've helped, but I suck at Zoradius.
This is how I beat it. Press Start while playing the game. Then ..
UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, L1, R1.
You'll hear a chime and have all the extras unlocked. It makes the game way
easier, but you still have to collect the SPEED UP extras.
Now beat the level with 570,000 points and you'll win. To do this, you MUST
beat the boss-train-thing at the end. It can get away if you're too slow.
I apologize for not having any strategy. It was all luck for me.

12. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
******************************************************************************
I added this section after seeing the Message Boards and realizing how often
people ask common questions. I've also decided to answer a few other things
that people have Instant Messaged me about recently. If there's something
not there that you'd like to know, feel free to IM/email me.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
12.1 Where is the Inhert icon?!?!?! I can't find it at all!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the most commonly asked question, I know on the gamefaqs message
boards it was asked almost daily. There's not much I can tell you besides
what the other board users and the rest of the FAQ says, but I'll put it
here again for what it's worth.
To get the Inehrt icon to unlock Inhert in VS. Mode, you must complete the
game once. Then you must create a GAME CLEAR save. Load this save. It
doesn't matter if you choose Equip or Unequip (but Equip makes it easier).
Go to the Fortress City.
Once you get to the part where you look for the elevator, go down. You'll
find yourself in a series of rooms where there are retracting pillars that
move in and out of the walls. There are three of these rooms in total.
You need to go to the second one. Once you're there, you'll have to fight
a lot of enemies including CYCLOPs, RAPTORs and MUMMYHEADs. Go ahead and
take them all out using whatever methods you deem fit.
Once you've killed them all, go back to the top of the room. There should
be 3 - 4 layers of retracting pillars. That is, you will pass through 3
or 4 sets of them to reach the bottom. I am pretty sure it's only three,
but that doesn't matter.
Go back to the entrance to this room. It's at the top of the room for you
with bad memories. Look down at the first layer of pillars. Decend past
this layer. You will now have one layer of pillars above you, and 2 or 3
below you. Make sure the entrance to this room is BEHIND you.
In front of you, to your right, should be a small platform where you can
stand. This is an overhead view of the second level of pillars. Jehuty
should be facing towards the X that is in the top right corner, which is
the platform I mentioned previously.
-------------------------------------
| * I * | KEY

-------------------------------------
&&&&&
I hope that's readable. Let me know if it's too difficult. Anyway, face
Jehuty towards the X from the center of the room. Look ahead and you will
see the three pillars, likely they will be moving in and out at different
speeds so be careful. If you are looking directly at them you should see
the Inhert Icon. The following diagram shows what you will see when you
towards the three pillars.
_________________________________________
|I/ \ / \ / \ | This is facing the X
|/ \ / \ / \| on the above map. The
| | | | I is the Inhert icon.
| | | | You'll need to travel
| | | | under a roof to get
|_____________|_____________|_____________| to it.
Note that there IS a small area that the left and right pillars go UNDER.
This is a tiny little spot where Jehuty can fit into because of the way
the columns are shaped. The icon will be on the far left one, tucked in
the corner as shown. Fly into it to unlock Inhert in VS. Mode.
So, to sum it up:
1. Complete the game.
2. Create a GAME CLEAR save.
3. Load from the GAME CLEAR save.
4. Get to Fortress City, to the 2nd room with retracting pillars.
5. Go past the first level of pillars in this room.
6. With your back to the entrance, face the pillars as they come
out on your right. They will be coming out diagonally.
7. Search the top left corner of the pillar on the far left,
tucked under a small roof area to find the icon.
If you still can't find it, get in that general area and start clicking
the L2 button like mad; eventually it can be targetted, and you can just
use that to guide yourself over to it.
Unfortunately, this may NOT be 100% accurate. Once you get the icon, I
don't think there's any way to get it again, and since I wasn't writing
this FAQ when I got it, I couldn't double check. I am certain it will be
tucked in a crevasse like in the second diagram but it may be on another
side. If it's not, someone let me know, you'll get complete credit on
the correction. Thanks a ton.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
12.2 I keep dying! Is there any way to heal in this game?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes. There are a few ways.
METATRON - you can find METATRON by flying around and seeing it, or by
killing enemies that have the word METATRON above them. It
appears as a blue diamond on your map if it is just sitting
there. METATRON also restores your SUB energy.
NRG - as implied, "NRG" restores only your energy. This is found
ONLY by killing enemies with the "NRG" stated above them if
they are targetted.
MUMMY - this is a SUBWEAPON you acquire in Fortress City. Equip it
and press the Circle button and hold it. Depending on the
difficulty you play, it may or may not drain your SUBGAUGE
as it slowly refills your life. It is best to use this once
you've killed everything around you.
That's it. Remember that you can guard with R1, so you can prevent some
of the beatings you're getting. :)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
12.3 Is there anything I can pass up and NOT get later on?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since you CAN'T go back to previous levels in this game like you could
in the first ZOE, you have to get items as you find them. These items
include the EX-MISSION FILEs as well as the SUBWEAPON, MUMMY. Besides
these are the VS. Mode Icons which you can find only on your second
time through the game.
Otherwise, the only other things you get are SUBWEAPONs that show up in
the storyline automatically. Refer to other sections on how to get all
these items.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
12.4 How do I get Taper using <other form of Jehuty> and not kill him?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
This question popped up in my e-mail a few times and I kept forgetting
to add it. The answer here isn't really that satisfying, though.
Because whatever form of Jehuty you're using on your second game may be
more powerful than the original form, you may have trouble getting Taper
out of his crate without blowing him to hell. I had this problem too,
and it's more common than you'd think.
Okay - so here's what you do. Shoot lightly. Yeah, there isn't much
you can do besides that. You have to be really delicate with the square
button, especially with Jehuty Ver. 2, because of the Wisps that help
you fire.
If that isn't helping, I have another way to do it, but I honestly do
not remember if it worked or not. But here it is - shoot the wall nearby
the crate you think Taper is in. If you're using Ver. 2, you may get
lucky and one of the lasers from your Wisps will hit the crate, allowing
you to proceed to the next cutscene. I think this worked for me once,
but it's been so long that I can't remember exactly. If someone wants
to confirm it for me, let me know, you'll get confirmation credit.

12.5 What is the difference between the versions of Jehuty?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Throughout the game, Jehuty "evolves" into different forms and in doing
so, gains and loses some abilities. This section will contain SPOILERs,
so if you haven't finished the game yet, I would advise you to do that
before you continue reading.
-------
JEHUTY:
-------
This is the version you start the game with. It has all the functions
you learned about in training mode. The only limitation with this form
of Jehuty is that you cannot use ZERO-SHIFT.
-------------
JEHUTY VER.2:
-------------
After the Battle At Aumaan Crevasse, there will be a CUTSCENE where you
see something odd happen to Jehuty - this is when the program Lloyd had
installed activates.
Jehuty Ver.2 is much more powerful than the original version of Jehuty.
It is faster and stronger. The best part is, ZERO-SHIFT is now working,
so you can use this along with your more powerful lasers to really tear
things up.
Jehuty Ver.2 also has three Wisps which follow it and add power to your
HOMING LASERs. This can be beneficial in battle, but annoying when you
replay the game and are trying to save Taper.
---------------
DAMAGED JEHUTY:
---------------
After being thrown into Compressed Space, you will be piloting Damaged
Jehuty. This form of Jehuty has lost most of it's SUBWEAPONs, and can
only use GRAB and ZERO-SHIFT.
You won't have any HOMING LASERs or long range attacks at all - you'll
be forced to use MELEE attacks or SUBWEAPONs. This is a very difficult
form of Jehuty to use.
However, when using Damaged Jehuty on the EXTRA MISSIONs, you will be
able to use your entire range of SUBWEAPONs. If you choose to play in
Story Mode with Damaged Jehuty, you will also have access to them. The
only time you won't have the SUBWEAPONs is when you fight Anubis in
Compressed Space. You will have unlimited SUBGAUGE, as well.
You cannot GUARD with Damaged Jehuty.
-------------
NAKED JEHUTY:
-------------
This is the ultimate form of Jehuty. After leaving Compressed Space,
you will be piloting what is known as Naked Jehuty. This form is the
most powerful one - it has unlimited SUBGAUGE, and all the abilities
available to you in the game, including SUBWEAPONs.
You get this form of Jehuty when you fight the final boss and a small
time just before then. However, your first time through you will not
be able to use most of your SUBWEAPONs - just ZERO-SHIFT and GRAB.
Naked Jehuty has enhanced defense and stronger attacks than Jehuty.
It, like all others, lacks the extra Wisps that Jehuty Ver.2 has.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
12.6 What is the song that plays when _____________?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are two songs in the game which, apparently, are very popular.
The first is the opening theme which plays when you let the game sit
at the title screen. The other plays when you are carrying Ardjet
just after fighting the Viola AI.
The first song is called "Beyond the Bounds," and the second one is
plainly titled, "Ardjet." "Ardjet" begins with the fight theme with
Ardjet, then leads into the part that everyone seems to enjoy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
12.7 Why can't I find the Naked Jehuty VS Mech Icon?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know. I've had a lot of people e-mail me over this, so here
is the requirements to get it, and a short guide on how to do it.
1. You MUST beat the game once, and create a GAME CLEAR save.
2. Load from the GAME CLEAR save.
3. DO NOT choose to use Naked Jehuty.
4. In the Aumaan Cargo Route (the green area after the giant
LEV battle) there are two main areas. They both go down
diagonally. Halfway through you will go through a small
entrance, where you see a cutscene with Nohman and Ken.
5. You will then be in an area exactly the same as the other
one. Go to the end of it. Instead of going into the
small entrance here, go to the bottom of the room. There
will be platforms on a conveyor belt that go through two
parallel passageways, blocked to you by horizontal red
lasers. Shoot the lasers and enter.
6. You should be in a large arena. At this point you will
battle Naked Jehuty. It was very easy for me because I
didn't let up on it and it never got the chance to strike
me. After winning, the Naked Jehuty VS Mech Icon will
appear in the center of the room.
7. After collecting the item you will be transported to the
next area in the game. You now have the VS Mech, Naked
Jehuty.

13. Additional Help
******************************************************************************
I added this here because I know my FAQ doesn't cover everything; I'm not
some game whiz here, I'm just another average gamer like you. Since I'm
not some gaming demi-god, I decided to give you other places to find info
on ZOE2 in case my FAQ isn't helping answer your question.
Also, I've said it before but if you haven't seen it, but I used the NTSC
release of the game to write this guide. Anyone using the PAL version may
have difficulty using the strategies I've written. Sorry, but apparently
Konami tried to make the game a little bit harder. Or so I've read on the
GameFAQs Message Boards.
So, if you need more help, try this -
1. E-mail Me!
There may be updates I haven't added yet. Please contact me if you've
got a problem! If it's something I haven't thought of adding, then I
may want to put it in the FAQ section. It may have been something I
overlooked.
2. The GameFAQs message boards.
I've lurked there since I got the game, and there are some really good,
talented gamers (Runners?) who know what they're talking about. If you
can't get an answer anywhere else, more than likely this will be your
best shot at an answer.
3. Other FAQs.
There are other FAQs on GameFAQs that are really good, as well as the
in-depth FAQs which can probably give you better information on specific
areas of the game. For example, my Ex-Missions section isn't finished,
and it probably won't be for a while -- and besides that, it's kind of
difficult to read through. There's a really great Ex-Missions Strategy
Guide up at GameFAQs you should probably check since mine is lacking so
much.
4. The Prima Strategy Guide.
Well, I've looked at the strategy guide and I think my FAQ is better
than it (I'm so modest) but it does provide graphics and maps that I
simply cannot do with a text-based guide. If you're having trouble in
the game consistently and you don't like using the internet, I'd suggest
maybe picking it up, but you really can get all the answers online at
the other sources I've listed .. and they're free.
