TALES OF INNOCENCE R
A Walkthrough by Fragrant Elephant <[email protected]>
Version 1.0
June 23, 2013
===============================================================================

Tales of Innocence R (TOI-R) is the 2012 PlayStation Vita remake of a Nintendo
DS game released in Japan in 2007. It is the ninth game in the Tales series.
TOI-R is available in the US as an import.

The game focuses on Luca Milda, a young boy who has dreams of the ancient
world and of being Asura, the leader of a rebellious faction that aimed to
unite heaven and earth. Luca's country is in the grip of war, and rumors are
spreading about "inoushas," or people with unusual talents. Luca's power
comes awake when he tries to protect Ilia, an "inousha" being pursued by the
religious group Alca.

Luca and Ilia are joined by others like themselves, reincarnated beings from
heaven. Together, they set out on a journey to find what caused heaven's
destruction during ancient times, and the root of the world's imbalance.

TOI-R features a lot of standard RPG elements, such as cooking, special
abilities, costumes, and so on. It can be completed fairly quickly, and
replayed for bonus features.

===============================================================================
MENU ITEMS
===============================================================================

--------
ARTS
--------

Lists the character's learned Arts. Players can assign shortcut buttons to
selected Arts; e.g. Luca's "Explode" can be assigned to X, or Up + X, Down +
X, or Left/Right + X.

Shortcuts can also be changed during battle by pressing the menu button and
accessing ARTS, on the right.

---------
ITEMS
---------

During the first playthrough, gamers can only hold up to fifteen of any one
item. Use the L and R buttons to toggle between item types, such as weapons,
ingredients, etc.

-------------
EQUIPMENT
-------------

Each character gets a weapon, body armor, helmet, accessory, and a title.
Players choose which item offers the best stats per character.

---------
STYLE
---------

Characters can activate and equip Styles based on their AP and CP. In the
activation menu, players can access a Style (e.g. Flare Rise 1, which
increases Luca's fire-based attacks) by paying the cost in AP. AP can be
gained in battle.

Players must then go to the equip menu by pressing Triangle, and equip the
selected Style by pressing Circle. The number of Styles that can be equipped
depends on its CP cost and the character's remaining CP. For example, Speed
Item 3 costs 2 CP to equip, so the character must have that amount of CP or
more to equip it.

The Capacity Up Style costs AP, but not CP. It increases characters' CP, so
players should activate it as soon as possible. It looks like big "C," and
several become available over the course of the game.

More Styles can be unlocked as characters gain levels, or when certain events
occur.

--------
RAVE
--------

Rave becomes available a few hours into the game. Rave is connected to Grade
points accumulated by defeating enemies, and increased by completing missions
during combat (e.g. "No damage to the lead character."). Grade points can be
traded in Grade shops for Recipes, bonuses, and abilities. The abilities list
can be accessed by pressing L or R while in the shop menu to toggle to the
symbol that looks like a round blue stone. From there, players can choose
an ability that improves battle performance, healing, or item collection.

In combat, the Rave counter is a gauge on the upper left of the battle screen
that fills up whenever characters successfully land attacks, and decreases
when characters get hit. The Rave gauge can cycle up to four levels, and
players can equip abilities that the gauge will unlock whenever it hits that
level.

For instance, Regen 1, a level 1 Rave, recovers 4% HP at regular intervals
during battle. Meanwhile, Team Attack 4, a level 4 Rave ability, increases
everyone's attack power by 15% once the Rave counter fills up to that level.

-------------------
COMBAT SETTINGS
-------------------

Here, players can choose tactics for each character. There are three columns:
fighting style, TP preservation, and OVL. Fighting style choices include
a balanced approach, a full-out attack, a varied approach, a defensive
approach, a support focus, and a healing focus. Then players can choose how
much TP the characters should preserve during combat: none, 25%, 50%, or 75%.

Finally, OVL initially has two choices: use when the OVL gauge fills up, or
don't use at all. This matters more for the AI, because OVL lets characters
move faster and use up less TP for Arts. Later on, players can choose whether
the AI will activate OVL when the Rave gauge hits a certain level.

Players can also assign tactic shortcuts in this menu. L and R can toggle
between those shortcuts. For example, tactic 1 could have Luca fighting at
full strength, preserving 25% TP, and using OVL when available. Tactic 2
could have him be a supportive fighter, use up to 50% TP, and not use OVL.
And so on.

The other section of Combat Settings lets players choose where the characters
are on the combat map. Swordsmen and fist fighters should be up front; and
gunners and spell casters should be in the back.

___________
COOKING
___________

In Tales of Innocence R, Recipes have various effects on the party: they can
restore HP or TP, enhance defense, remove status abnormalities, and so on.

Recipes can be bought at Grade shops, or received after conversations with NPCs
(non-playable characters). Recipe ingredients can be bought at item shops,
found in chests, or or are dropped by enemies.

Certain Recipes require advanced cooking levels for success, so choose the
chef wisely.

__________
STATUS
__________

Shows each character's offense, defense, Arts attack, Arts defense, element
affiliation, etc. Also has a page that shows what the other characters think
of that character. The thoughts change according to their level of connection.

___________
LIBRARY
___________

Contains the Monster Book, Synopsis, Battle Book, and Record. The Monster Book
lists defeated enemies; the Synopsis points to where you've been and where to
go next; the Battle Book explains elements of the combat system; and the Record
shows how long you've been playing, number of defeated enemies, greatest amount
of damage dealt, fastest combat time, etc.

STORY (Spoilers!)
===============================================================================

In the beginning there was a giant. It became lonely and created Heaven and the
gods. But evil gods were also born, and those were cast out of Heaven and down
to Earth, where the prayers of the faithful sustained Heaven.

Heaven became divided between Latio, ruled by a council of four, and Census,
led by Asura. Census sought to unite heaven and earth, but Latio believed
that unification would only cause chaos.

Thousands of years later, Heaven no longer exists, and Earth is gripped by
perpetual war. "Inoushas," or people with unusual talents, are now being
arrested. They are in fact "tenseishas" -- reincarnated beings from Heaven.

Luca, Asura's reincarnation, meets Ilia, his lover Innana's rebirth. Both set
out on a journey to recover their memories and find out what caused the
destruction of Heaven. Along the way, they are joined by fellow tenseishas.
Together, they will find the truth about the past.

previous screen with a chest with a Hot Chocolate Recipe. Go back and up to the
save point. Talk to the soldier for a Life Bottle. Fight the Latio soldier.

The story continues when you go to the most northwestern part of the city, but
feel free to wander around to talk to NPCs who will give you stuff. The Wonder
Chef appears here; he comes as a giant shaking white pot. Talk to him for a
Recipe and the ingredients. To the northeast of the city is a woman whose
brooch you picked up at Regnum Pass. Give it back for a Sandwich Recipe.

Go to the northwest for a scene. Afterwards, return to the town entrance for
another scene. You will now have a free place to recover in case you want to
level up outside. Your next destination is Naos Base via the Forest of Sorrow.

right and another chest is up and to the left. Follow the path to the next
screen.

At the save point, go left for a chest with Mixed Gummy. Continue for a new

Go up and right into a room with a save point and traveling merchant. Exit and
go up the hall. The room on the left has two Apple Gummies. Go back into the
hall and continue down and right. Follow the path to another room with a
Battle Sword in a chest. Go back out and head up at the split.

There are two chests on either side here, up the stairs. One forces you to
fight an enemy for a Life Bottle, and the other has 620 gald. Go back down
the steps and up and right through the room with the tubes. Follow the path
to the next screen.

Go around the walkway and down to the next screen. Follow the path to the save
point. Now fight the robot! It's weak against Lightning and Water, which are
Spada's and Ilia's specialties. You will now travel with Ange!

Use the save point and buy items if you need to. Follow the path. Go left at
the split for three Bananas. Backtrack and go right to proceed to the next
section of the base.

Here, keep heading north and west. Make sure to take the Egg Over Rice Recipe
and Deny Bottle from the chests on the way. Go left and up for a scene. You
have now hired Ricardo! You can also use Rave. Go on to the next screen.

At the walkway, go around the right for with Holy Bottle. Then go to the next
screen through the left. Pass another room with tubes to get to a puzzle room.

Hit the red button to open a door on the right. Enter and go right. Hit the
blue switch. Now go up and hit the yellow switch and take the Rice from the
chest. Note the shiny sword you see here.

Go down and head northwest for a chest with an Amber Robe at the end of a
room with tubes. Now head back out through the open door to the main switch
room.

This time, enter the door on the left. Hit the red switch when you see it, and
go southeast to hit a yellow switch. There's a Life Bottle and Mixed Gummy in
chests inside the rooms on the right. Go up to a blue switch and hit it. Now
you can access the chests to the southwest, which have a Auto Custom gun and
a Knight Rapier.

Go into the leftmost room and hit the switch to open the room beside it. Hit
the blue switch inside and exit to the main room. Now leave through the north-
west path and take the lift to the first save point in the base.

When you go to leave, you will have to fight Gardle. He's weak against Light.
Afterwards, return to Naos.

------------------
Holy City Naos

Go to Hartman's house for a scene. Ange will join your group. You can talk to
a cat near the inn for a "Likes Cats" title for Conway.

---------------

You will fight Hasta here. He's weak against Earth. Continue on your way.

---------------------------
Imperial Capital Regnum
---------------------------

The southwestern and northwestern houses have chests with an Orange Gummy and
Specific, respectively. Go to the docks to the north for a new Recipe from
Wonder Chef, and a Life Bottle from an NPC. You can also go into the western
part of town to trade Pork to a dog for a Deny Bottle. Talk to a young guy
in the middle right of the screen to get a new outfit for Spada.

Your goal here is to reach the sewers in the eastern section of town. Once
you do, and Luca and Conway partner up, go to Luca's house. After the scene,
you will be back in the sewers, where you meet your latest party member,
Hermana.

Save in the room and go southwest and down the ladder. Buy what you need from
the traveling merchant, then head up.

---------------
Regnum Cave
---------------

***Mission: Defeat all enemies within 20 seconds for AP x 3.
***Mission: Defeat two enemies using their Element weakness for HP + 20%.

Turn right at the split and grab the 710 gald and the Magical Ribbon from the
chests at the end. Note the giant impassable Stone you pass on the way.

Return to the split and continue to the next screen. Go down and right, into
the previous screen, for a chest with Meat Sauce Recipe. Backtrack and follow
the path up. Grab the Apple Gummies from the chest to the northwest and head
right. Take the farther right path into a new screen with chest with Lavender.

Return and take the other path up to the next screen. Head right and up, under
the ledge, for Vervain. Go back down and continue right. Go straight at
the split for a new screen and a chest with chain mail. Retrace your steps and
go up at the split. Grab the Milks in the chest to the northwest, and head
right into the next screen.

Follow the rightmost path, under the ledge, for a Life Bottle. Continue on the
path and go left for a Lemon Gummy. Continue up to the save point. There will
be a scene, and then a boss fight. Go after Keru and Bero first, then focus on
Xian. He's weak against Wind.

Now trek all the way back to the sewers.

---------------------------
Imperial Capital Regnum
---------------------------

You will have an encounter as soon as you leave the sewers. Take down the
enemies and proceed. Your Rave gauge will open up for level 2. Go to the
western section of town. Don't forget to loot Spada's house! It's to the
west.

----------------------
Merchant's Mansion
----------------------

***Mission: Steal one item for a Strike Trigger gun.

Go into the merchant's house, the one with the fountain out front. You need
to collect three statues to open the door to his office. Start with the left
part of the house. Pick up Survival Knife and Mixed Gummy from the rooms,
then head up the hallway and upstairs for a chest with 880 gald and a Gold
Statue.

Go right into the opposite wing for a Battle Glove, 1100 gald, and the Silver
Statue. Now go downstairs to get Rice, a Takikomi Rice Recipe, and the Copper
Statue. Return to the main entryway.

Place the Gold Statue on the left pedestal, the Copper one in the center, and
the Silver on the right. Go through the door for a scene.

Hermana will be on her own for this mini-boss, but she should be able to
handle it.

After the kerfuffle and the paperwork-free adoption process, your party must
return to Naos.

------------------
Holy City Naos
------------------

A lady near the Grade shop wants 15 Apples. Give them to her for a reward of
450 gald, an Apple Pie Recipe, and the ingredients for it.

Go up to the destroyed cathedral for a scene. Then there will be lots of
exposition. Afterwards, help yourself to the two chests in the library. Now
head to the docks for the ship Ricardo promised.

----------------------------
Eastern Country Ashihara
----------------------------

After the party splits up, grab the Miso from the house in the center of town.
Talk to NPCs for items. There's a boy to the east who will challenge you to
a quiz. Get his questions right for an item. Proceed with your enquiries
and Luca will wind up alone. Go to the inn for a scene with Ilia's least
favorite person. Get a new Recipe from Wonder Chef, who's behind the screen.

Your next stop is the Ashihara Tombs. Exit town and head north. The guards
will block your way. Return to town and speak to the old man at the inn. He
agrees to grant you entry after you take care of the town's monster problem.
Go north to the exit area and fight three waves of boars. Speak to the old man
again. Now you can enter the tombs.

------------------
Ashihara Tombs
------------------

***Mission: Do a 15-hit combo for a Weak Chain.
***Mission: Win with no damage to the lead character for TP + 50%.

Go left at the split. Note the large glowing Stone here. Follow the path all
the way up for a chest with Weak Bottle. Go left and then right for Miso.
Take the split north for a room with a Weak Charm and a Squid Recipe.

Return to the split and go down and right into a room with statues and torch
stands. Press Square to light the torches in the correct order with Conway's
Sorcerer Ring. Basically, you light the torch that the statue seems to be
looking at. Start at the entrance, then light the one above it, then the one
to the left. Next, hit the one adjacent, then the one above it. Finally,
light the torch at the center of the room, then the one in the southeast
corner, the one to the left of it, and lastly, the one on the southwest. Get
the chest with the Holy Bottle. Go through the door and up the hall.

At the split, turn right for 1300 gald and Radishes. Return and continue left
and up to the next screen.

This section consists of moving the Stones to change the water levels. Move
every Stone you see. There will be three in the first hallway. Get the Saffron
and the Life Bottles, then keep going right and then up to move another Stone.
Return to the split and head up for a mural and a scene. Go right for 1500
gald. At the next split, go right for another Stone. Go all the way left for
the final Stone, and go through the door leading to the next area.

The third area is symmetric and combines torch-lighting and Stone-moving.
First, make the water levels rise in the two rooms with a torch and a treasure
chest by pushing the boulders into the wall. The boulders are in rooms in the
leftmost and rightmost parts of the screen.

Next, light all seven torches. There are three in the middle area, and two
pairs each above and below them. Once the torches are lit and the door opens,
return to the boulders and return them to their original position so you can
access the chests later on. Proceed through the central hallway.

In the final screen, go down and left, and down and right, for a Specific and
a Kagutsuchi. Then go up for a save point and a scene. When you go to leave,
Chiseto shows up for a fight. She's weak against Fire and Light, but she's
also incredibly speedy, so bring your A game to this showdown!

Your party's next destination is Garam. Leave the Tombs and return to the
docks at Ashihara.

----------------
Garam Harbor
----------------

Again, talk to NPCs for free stuff. Grab the Tuna from the southwest building.
There's a kid near the docks who'll challenge you to press the Circle button
over 33 times in 5 seconds. Do it to win a Savory.

Exit town and make for the Calypso Mine, to the northeast.

----------------
Calypso Mine
----------------

***Mission: Win with everyone's HP above 60% for AP x 2.
***Mission: Win without anyone losing consciousness for EXP x 4.

In the first screen, go left and up for a Poison Bottle. Backtrack and this
time go right and up for 1400 gald. Go left and up to the next screen.

Follow the path until you see a shiny object in a hollow space to the right.
You can now break up small piles of rock. Use this ability to find a Holy
Bottle above you and to the left. Continue up and turn right. Breaking up the
rock pile here will reveal a boulder, so go down for now. Examine the shiny
object for explosives. In this section, there's a Poison Check and a Pasta
Recipe above that chest. Head all the way back to the northwest for a
Storm Sword and a Green Ribbon. Go right to the next screen.

This next section requires hitting switches to make the cart go where you want.
Head up and right to examine a switch. The cart here will take you back to the
save point. Ride the cart to the northeast to advance. Ride the cart directly
opposite you to a chest with Apple Gummies. Ride the truck back. Go left and
down to hit a switch. Ride the same cart from earlier, and choose to go left.
Hit the switch and walk left to ride the cart again. Grab the Shortcake Recipe
from the chest and return to the cart.

Disembark and walk up to a chest with Eggs. The chest to right has you fight
a monster for Miracle Gummy. Make your way up and hit the switch, then ride
the nearby cart to three chests with Power Knuckles, 1600 gald, and Life
Bottles. Return and hit the same switch again. Now ride the cart that's down
and to the right to get a Savory. Walk up to flip a switch. Ride your cart
back. This time, take the southernmost cart. Walk down to a chest with Sage.
Walk back up and ride the next cart. Turn right for Pine Gummy. Backtrack and
go straight this time and take the northern exit to the field.

Garam is to the northeast.

-------------------------
Western Country Garam
-------------------------

Go right and up the steps into a building with Beef. Above it is a building
with Pine Gummy and Life Bottle. Receive the Steak Recipe from Wonder Chef in
the armor shop. The blacksmith in the back gives you a Steel Sword. An NPC in
the military station will give you Lemon Gummy.

Talk to the gatekeeper to the north to find out that Hasta has gone to the
volcano. Talk to all the NPCs you see. There will be a scene, after which you
should go return to the gatekeeper. You may now go into the volcano to hunt
down Hasta, or reclaim your memories, whichever comes first. Talk to the
gatekeeper again for a Holy Bottle. Now proceed to Kelma Volcano.

-----------------
Kelma Volcano
-----------------

***Mission: Do not let the lead character use Arts for Phoenix Guard.
***Mission: Do not let the Rave Gauge decrease for TP + 70%.

Go right at the first split and take the lower path to the next screen for a
Holy Bottle. Return and take the upper path right for a Red Ribbon. Backtrack
and head left this time. Follow the path and grab the Apple Gummy to the right
of the next split. Continue left and into the next screen.

Follow the path up the ledge and double back to the right for a Garnet. Keep
following the path left and up. Take the Orange Gummies on the way. At the
split, keep going right and up for a Cheese Fondue Recipe. Return to the split
and take the other path up. At the next split, go left into another screen for
a Treat. Return to the previous screen and keep going straight and then up to
the following section.

Follow the path and grab the Cheeses on the way. Keep going on the curvy path.
Bear left and go up for a Life Bottle. At the split, both paths lead to the
save point, so keep going right for a Red Vervain. Save, then head up for
your confrontation with Hasta. Remember, he's weak against Earth.

After the fight, a scene will occur. Your party will return to Garam.

-------------------------
Western Country Garam
-------------------------

Lots of exposition here. There is also a hot springs event. When you regain
control, talk to the gatekeeper again for a Specific, and to an NPC in the
military station for 3000 gald. Now exit Garam and make your way back to the
Calypso Mine.

------------------------------------------------
Calypso Mine / In-Between Alien World Neegle
------------------------------------------------

***Mission: Defeat an enemy while it's in mid-air for Grade + 4.
***Mission: Defeat two enemies with Luca's Kotsukisou Art for Mole Claw.
***Mission: Defeat two enemies with Luca's Gishousen Art for Mole Claw.
***Mission: Defeat two enemies with Spada's Senkuuretsuha Art for Mole Claw.
***Mission: Defeat two enemies with Conway's Black Hole Art for Mole Claw.

There will be a scene after you enter the mine, and your party will be in
the another dimension! It works the same as the mine, with switches and carts,
but this time your party also has to remove blue barriers on the tracks.

In the first screen, the two accessible chests contain a Holy Bottle and a
Seafood Recipe. Flip the switches to summon the cart and remove the barrier to
get to the next screen. Hit the switch. Ride the cart and go right for Song
of Gaia. Ride the cart again and turn right. Hit the switch and get in the
other cart. Turn left for a Purple Ribbon. Now go straight and then left to
the next screen.

Hit the switch. Ride your cart again and turn right twice to be able to walk
up for a Sardonyx. Backtrack and hit the switch. Ride the truck back to the
save point. Ride again and turn right and then straight for a Life Bottle.
Back in the cart, choose left and then switch carts. Grab the Kronos from
the chest. Proceed to the next screen.

Hit the switch and ride the cart. Grab the Mochi Powder and hit the switch.
Get in the cart and go right for Mixed Gummy. Hit the switch and ride the
cart. Go north for a Battle Guard and the save point.

There are Apple Gummies to the northeast. Examine the switches and head left.
Keep going left, into the second and then first screen, where you can now
grab the Battle Suit. There will be a scene and a boss that's weak against
Light. Also, now you have Kyukyu!

You will warp back to Calypso Mine. Exit and return to Garam Harbor. Board
a ship from there and a scene will occur.

***Mission: Win before attacking 55 times for OVL + 50%.

Buy items you need from the merchant in the room to the right. Go up and take
the Chamomile from the uppermost left room. Go into the next screen.

Follow the path. Take the stairs down into a room with lots of boxes. This
room has chests containing a Carbonara Recipe, an Auto Mag, Squid, Shrimp,
Thunder Tooth, Guard Shuttle, and Orange Gummies. Move the boxes out of the
way to get to the chests. Take the northern stairs up afterwards.

Grab the Cheese on the right and the Life Bottle at the very top before taking
the left exit.

Go right and in through the door. Continue right until you get to the outside
of the ship. If you go right and through the lower door here, you can reach a
room with a Light Circlet. Backtrack and go up to the stern. There's a hatch
you need a key for. Behind you is the control room with enemies and the key.
Grab the Mixed Gummy on your way there. Before you go through the hatch, go
to the bow to get an Elixir and Lorelei.

When you go through the hatch, take the contents of the chests on either side.
Save and attempt your escape. You will fight Chitose again, this time with two
goons. Kill them first, then focus on her. She's still fast, and her weakness
is Fire and Light.

When you defeat her, you get your own ship! You can sail back to any of the
places you've been for more skits or items. Your next destination is Galpos,
an island south and center of the world map.

---------------------------
Southern Country Galpos
---------------------------

There are three chests here, all on the western part of town. As always, talk
to the NPCs for free goodies. Your destination is the Galpos Orchard to the
northeast of town.

------------------
Galpos Orchard

***Mission: Knock down an enemy three times for EXP x 2.

At the first split, go right for a Paralyze Bottle. Backtrack and go left for
a Vervain. Proceed southeast for a Paralyze Check, then go up to get to the
next screen.

Go left, up, and left for a Life Bottle. Go down and right for Chocolates,
then up and left for Stormbringer. Follow the path down, grabbing the 1800
gald on the way, and proceed to the last screen.

Go straight for the Beef Stew Recipe. Backtrack and follow the path. Take the
bananas, and Lemon Gummy along the way. Exit to the field. Go north.

-----------------
Galpos Jungle
-----------------

***Mission: Use counter guard twice for TP + 70%.
***Mission: Defeat one enemy using the secret technique (OVL + L) for a Ruby.

At the first split, go right and up for a Lightning Blade. Backtrack and go up
to the next screen. Grab the Stone Bottle and move on to the next screen. At
the split, turn left and cross the stream. Keep following the path, and grab
the Alnus Line, 2200 gald, Stone Charm, Sephiroth, Dice, Curry Recipe, and
Life Bottles on the way until you go right to reach the save point. You fight
Xian and his two dogs again. Defeat the dogs first, then have everyone attack
him. Xian is weak against Wind.

When you go to leave, go down at the split from the save point and push the
log so you can cross the stream. Note the glowing boulder you see here. Return
to Galpos.

---------------------------
Southern Country Galpos
---------------------------

Talk to NPCs again for items and Recipes. Also, a new treasure chest has washed
ashore on the beach on the western part of town. When you go to leave, a scene
occurs.

-------------------
Grigori Village
-------------------

Talk to everyone in the village. One of the Grigori will trade you Magic Mist
for a Mixed Gummy. When you're done, approach Ricardo for a scene.

On the boat, open all the chests and equip as necessary. Talk to all the
characters. Be prepared, because two consecutive boss fights are on the way.
Your first battle is against Gardle  He's very fast and weak against Light.
After you defeat him, you must fight a Gigantes, which is weak against
Lightning. Both bosses are tough, so ration your Arts and items carefully!

Your next stop is Mammut.

---------------------------
City of Commerce Mammut
---------------------------

In the first screen, there are chests containing Recipe items to the east
And west, and to the north. The shops are to the west, in another screen.
The NPCs there will give you items and titles. Wonder Chef is on hand for a
new Recipe. Return to the first screen and exit to the north when ready.
You must go past the Lemures Wetlands to the northwest.

--------------------
Lemures Wetlands
--------------------

***Mission: Do not use the lead character's Arts for a Black Ribbon.
***Mission: Do not use items for HP + 40%.

Follow the path heading toward the northeast. Grab the Fear Charm and Dark
Bottle on the way. At the next screen, head up and right for a Miso Recipe.
Continue left and get the Panacea Bottle from the chest. Note the glowing
boulder you see here. Continue up to the next area.

Follow the straight path to another screen. Go straight up for Phosphorus,
And go down and left for Beef. Go northeast to the next screen.

Take the 2900 gald and go left. Grab the Miracle Gummy, then go down for an
Amethyst. Now keep going left, into the next screen, and all the way left for
a Saffron. Go up to the next screen. Go right, go past the split, then down for
a Treat. Now go right and up. At the split, go left and up for 3300 gald. To
the very left is a chest with Specific. Backtrack and go to the right for a
Pine Gummy. Now go up to the save point. The boss is weak against Fire and
Light. Leave after the scene, and continue north.

--------------------
Supply Base Tote
--------------------

Wonder Chef is in town with a Soup Recipe! Also, if you talked to the hooded
merchant back in the shops area of Mammut, he will give you an Elixir here. A
merchant will give you Pine Gummy, and a soldier offers you Specific.

Leave town and go north to the Northern Front.

------------------
Northern Front
------------------

***Mission: No damage to lead character for Grade x 3.
***Mission: Win within 40 seconds for a Blue Talisman.

Approaching a Gigantes will initiate a fight, so avoid them unless your level
is high. The first screen is wide and has four chests that can be reached via
trenches. The southwest one has High Holy Bottle, the one above it has Orange
Gummies. The one tower the center of the screen contains Lemon Gummy, and the
northeast chest has Red Sage. Once you've collected everything, go northwest
to the next screen.

There are chests to the leftmost and rightmost of this area. Grab the Eggs and
the Recipe from them and proceed up. There's another chest to the north and
east with Chamomile. The path winds up on the left, where you can continue up
for Treat and Earth Glaive. The chest in the center has 7800 gald. Go up to
the save point. The boss here is Hasta. As usual, he's fast, mean, and weak
against Earth. When you're done leave the battlefield and go north.

--------------------------
Northern Country Tenos
--------------------------

Go to the bar for NPCs who give items. The lady beside the inn will give a
Fur Coat. Go the west of town and talk to NPCs. Wonder Chef will offer a Mabou
Tofu Recipe. The western house has Mushrooms. The buildings near the docks
have Pine Gummy, Lemon Gummy, chicken, and Miracle Gummy. Return to the first
screen when you're done. The barracks to the north are inaccessible, so leave
town and head east to the Celestial Garden.

--------------------
Celestial Garden
--------------------

***Mission: Win with everyone's HP above 70% for AP x 3.
***Mission: Do a 20-hit combo for OVL + 60%.
***Mission: Stop enemy casting 8 times for Grade + 10.

The first area has four accessible chests. The northwest one is blocked by a
glowing boulder. The one below that has a Fire Blade. To the east is a Lemon
Gummy and a Curry Recipe. Note the shiny sword. Go left and up for Pork,
then continue right to the next screen.

This section requires pushing ice blocks into the gaps. Push the first block
down and east to the gap to get the Lavender and 8600 gald. Now push out the
block here into the main area. Push down, right, up, left, up, left, and up.
Go up into the newly-accessible area for an All Divine. Push the ice block
here into the main area. Push right, down, right, up, right, up, and right to
proceed to the next screen.

This area has a chest with 7200 gald near the center of the screen, and Life
Bottles in the southwestern corner. Go up from there to the next section.

Go straight and left for Mixed Gummies. Backtrack and go left, then all the
way up and right for a Voltek Mag. Climb the nearby stairs and go down for a
Yellow Talisman. Retrace your steps, but this time, go straight, left, and
down. There's a Diamond Guard to the right under the walkway, as well as a
Wizard Hat at the rightmost corner. The leftmost area has an Elixir.

Go the save point. The boss is a Tenos Stinger. It's weak against Fire and
Lightning. After the scene, you lose Ange. Follow her back to Tenos. Go north
into the military building on the next screen.

-------------------------
Tenos Weapons Factory
-------------------------

***Mission: Defeat an enemy while it's in mid-air for EXP x 3.
***Mission: Knock enemies down 7 times for Muramasa.

The idea here is to raise and lower the blue and green platforms so you can
reach the chests. Go left and examine the computer terminal to raise the
blue platforms and lower the green ones. Backtrack, pass the gray lift, and
go up and right for a chest with High Holy Bottle. Now return to the lift
and take it up to the walkway. Follow the path up and all the way right. To
the south is 9400 gald. Examine the terminal above you. Go right, up, left,
and down for a Lemon Gummy. Ride the lift and examine the next terminal. Go
southwest for another terminal. You can now get the Flamberge from the chest.
Go left and south, riding the lifts until you reach another terminal. It
allows you to reach the last chest, to the northwest, with a Mirage Cloak.
Once you have that, return to the terminal to the south and lift the green
platforms so you can exit to the north.

In the next room, go left to the conveyer belt area. The scene will establish
that certain characters will pass through okay, while others will be dropped.
Have a drop-character lead (Ilia works fine) and get on the conveyer. When
You fall, grab the Rice to the north and go south to go back up. There's a
Chest above you and to the right with a Pizza Toast Recipe. Ignore the
Conveyer belt to the right of it and go left toward the save point.

Go up and right to be dropped again. Go left for a River Regis. Go up again
using the lift to the south. This time, have a non-drop character (like Luca)
lead so you go through the conveyer. At the next conveyer, drop down and get
the Apple Gummies above you. Return via the same gray lift to the south.

Go through the first conveyer again, but this time go up right when you get
off for 8900 gald. Go to the next conveyor for another drop. Grab the Sacred
Helm and the Chocolates before taking the lift back up. Go through the belt
on the right and run to the right for Blue Nacre. Afterwards, return to the
belt you just went through with a drop-character. Go up and right for Orange
Gummies. Then go left to move on to the next area.

In this room, you're supposed to read the clues on the terminals to find the
password. It's "ORIFIEL." Make your way to the terminal in the southwest to
enter it. This will disable the other terminals, allowing you to plunder the
chests. The western part of the room has a Specific, Life Bottles, and Topaz.
There's a Miracle Gummy to the northeast, and a Pine Gummy in the central
walkway. When you're done, exit to the north using the newly created walkway.

Your errant party member is arguing with Albert. After a scene, you fight
both Ange and Albert. Knock her down first so she can't heal him, then go
after him. He's weak against Darkness, which Ricardo uses.

There will be an extended scene after the battle. You will have an airship of
your own when you talk to Albert. Now it's your turn to board someone else!

------------------
Airship Ventos
------------------

***Mission: Steal 2 items for AP x 4.

Follow the path north to the next screen. Grab the Savory to the right and
continue up and left. There's a Recipe at the end of the hall. Go up to the
next area.

Go straight up for Onions. Go past the switch, past the first right, and then
turn at the next right and go down for Orochi. Go back to the switch and hit
it. Go right down into the door leading to Platina Wear. Return and go right,
past the split, and down for an Oval. Return, go all the way up, and turn
left for a Pine Gummy. Hit the switch to the north. Retrace your steps back
to the first switch. Hit it again and go right, then north to the save point.

You will fight a giant monster. It has no elemental weakness. Just keep at it
with strong, non-Wind attacks. Afterwards, you can use your airship to go to
places you've visited before. When you're done, fly to the Sky Castle in the
center of the world map.

--------------
Sky Castle
--------------

***Mission: Defeat two enemies with the secret technique for Evil Sword.
***Mission: Defeat two enemies with their elemental weakness for TP + 50%.

After the scene, go left and grab the Saffron before going up to the next
screen. There will be an event when you examine the flowers here. Grab the
Vervain, Cream Stew Recipe, and Stone Bottles from the chests. Go up to the
next screen.

There's a Story Book and Fast Mag on either side of the northern section,
and a Pine Gummy to the northwest. Go north to the next screen.

Go up and left for a Panacea Bottle. Backtrack, go right, then up the stairs
for a High Holy Bottle and Masamune. Go back down the stairs and go north to
the next screen.

In this cloud-floor area, press Square to use the Sorcerer Ring and light
the torch stands to the west, east, and north. There are chests in all four
corners, with a Reflex, Pudding Recipe, Giant Fist, and Lemon Gummy. When
you're done, step on the warp portal in the center of the screen.

The exit is to the north, but you can go south to get the Nightmare Helm,
Mixed Gummy, and Moon Robe. On either side of the portal are Orange Gummies
and Apple Gummies. Go northeast for Milk, and northwest for Crownery (sp).
Proceed to the next area.

In this section, you have to activate three crystals that will open the door
and also give access to the chests. Start by making your way around the paths
and to the north. Activate the crystal south of the door. Then go down and east
to activate the next crystal. The final crystal is to the northwest. Now you
can freely grab all the chests. The two at the bottom, at the end of the round
paths, contain a Red Sage and Red Savory. Above those are Red Chamomile and
Red Saffron. The three chests just north of the main circular path have All
Divide, Mirage Crest, and Ancient Claws. West of those is a Red Lavender.
Finally, to the northwest is an Elixir, and the northeast chest contains a
Red Vervain. Go north.

Take the Life Bottles, Miracle Gummy, Treat, and Specific from the chests.
Save and go up for a boss fight. It's weak against Wind.

There will be a lengthy scene. Afterwards, head toward Sania Village.

-----------------
Sania Village
-----------------

After the scene, go to Ilia's house in the north. When you regain control,
talk to her parents for Miracle Gummy and High Holy Bottle. Put Ilia in the
lead so they give her an Elixir and Specific. Go outside and talk to the NPCs
for items. Wonder Chef is here with a Stuffed Cabbage Recipe. There are
chests in the southwest house and in the house beside Ilia's, with Pork,
Chamomile, and Cabbages.

Afterwards, you can either head to the mountain to get to the Tower of Dawn,
or check out the nearby Muse Village.

----------------
Muse Village
----------------

There will be a scene when you enter. Afterwards, continue right for chests
with ingredients. The NPCs here will upgrade your Sorcerer Ring. Now you can
destroy the glowing boulders! There are five: in the first screens of the
Ashihara Tombs, Regnum Caverns, and Celestial Garden; and the second screens
of Galpos Jungle and Lemures Wetlands. The chests contain strong equipment.

Back in Muse Village, go to the left side and up to talk to Vulcan. He asks
you to get his swords, the shiny ones you've been seeing. The swords are in:
Furufu Forest (right of save point), the Western Front (after a mini-boss
fight), Naos City (Hartman's house), Naos Base (use the lift in the first room
to get to the room to the right of the main switch room), the Calypso Mine,
Grigori Village, Galpos Jungle (in the old man's tent), and the Celestial
Garden (left of first screen). Once you have all of them, go up to Vulcan
Eight times so each character can present a sword and get a powerful weapon in
exchange. Talking to Vulcan will make the party sleep so the character dreams
of his/her past Life, so you might want to stagger this side quest.

When you're ready, head east from Muse Village to Kardia.

***Mission: Stop enemies casting 10 times for OVL + 60%.
***Mission: Defeat two enemies while they're in mid-air for Gungnir.

After the scene, buy what you need from the traveling merchant and go to the
save point. Head inside the tower.

Here, you must use the Sorcerer Ring to rotate the floating block into the
correct pattern. Just keep rotating and pressing Circle until it's right.
There are blocks in all four corners of the room. Also grab the Bahamut Tear,
Golden Helm, and two Croquet Recipes from the chests. Go up the stairs in
The center to the next screen.

Go left at the split to be lifted up. Grab the Specific below you and return
to the same block. Now take the one on the right. Go left and up for a Treat,
and go down to another block. Go to the save point and prepare for a boss
battle. It's Hasta again. Defeat him for a scene, then climb the stairs up.

Light the stands to be able to cross to the other side. Take the Pine Gummy
and Lemon Gummy for now, and continue left. You will emerge into a large,
circular room. Go through a doorway in the south.

Take the Orange Gummies and head down. Go a bit right for a Sloan's Dagger,
then continue down and right for a High Holy Bottle. Use the Sorcerer Ring on
the nearby switch. Ride the red block to get a Star Beret, True Magic, and
Apple Gummies. Exit north.

Use the Sorcerer Ring on the stand and ride the cube straight across the room
for an All Divide. Return and go east to activate another stand. Ride the cube
northwest and take the High Holy Bottle from the chest. Go north to the next
screen.

Go north and hit the switch. Ride the blocks to get the Red Savory and the
Gold Armor. Go right and up to hit another switch. Ride the red block and hit
the next switch. Ride another block and hit another switch. Ride the blue
block down to get a Miracle Gummy. Walk up to the purple block and ride it to
Weird Ribbon and Star Circlet. Exit south.

Back in the circular room, activate the stand. Ride the cube and grab the
Rare Protector. Return to the stand and exit east. Now you can collect the
chests from the previous room. There's Mixed Gummy and Mirzam to the north,
and Rare Wear and Life Bottles to the south. Exit to the southwest.

Activate the stand and ride the cube north. Now you can take the All Divide,
Barumunk, and Panacea Bottles. Exit south.

Activate the northern stand. Take the cube to get the Work Glove. Return to
the stand and walk east for a Red Saffron. Activate the nearby switch. Ride
the cube and take the Elixir. Exit to the south.

Go south and activate the switch. Go northeast for a Dragon Fang. Exit north.

Walk north for a Miracle Gummy. Activate the stand and ride the cube west.
Save and prepare for a boss fight. Your enemy is Gigantes Omega. It has no
elemental weakness.

Afterwards, go up the stairs until you reach the final save point. This is it!
You can warp back to the first or second floor of the tower, then back to
Kardia and the world map, if need be. If you're ready, enter the doorway to
face your nemesis.

Mathieus has three forms. Her first form is her normal self. She has over
200,000 HP and no elemental weakness. The second form is Mathieus Venus,
which has less HP but is at a higher level. The final form is the Overlord
of Despair, again at a higher level and with about 250,000 HP. Just whale on
all the forms with your strongest attacks, use whatever items you need, and
you will defeat her and save the world!

Congratulations, you've done it!

When you start a game from your cleared game data, you can choose to keep
your items, equipment, etc. Note that these options have a cost. Good luck
on your second go!
