I:  About
=-=-=-=-=

Like many of us, I have a long, storied relationship with the Biohazard/Resident
Evil series.  I played the first in college, never beat it, then played 2 but
not 3 or Code Veronica.  4, 5, 6 I played, but not Operation: Raccoon City.
Etc.etc.  And while complaints never cease about this beloved franchise, I find
the games to be very entertaining.  I take them as they are and never compare 5
to 1 or anything.

Revelations 2 is fun.  Claire's path has been more action-oriented these first
few weeks while Barry's is quieter.  (No ammo at the end of episode 2 sucked!)

And while I'd played Raid Mode before, its version in RE:R2 is just brilliant.
There's plenty to do and I'm having a blast.  So, why not write a brief
unlockable guide?

This document will assume you know something about Raid Mode and I'm not here
to teach you ANY basics, really.  This is just for unlockables.

There are some FAQs at the very end, so you might want to start there.
Otherwise, please drop me a line if you can fill in the blanks to anything.
I'm good at writing FAQs, not quite as good at videogames!

Oh....SPOILERS!!!  Please don't get angry after finding out hidden secrets when
looking at a hidden secrets document!

II:  Characters
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

There is a total of 15 characters in Revelations 2, with two being available at
the outset and two are DLC-Only (real-world cash!)

The remaining cast is unlocked by obtaining Completion Medallions (see the FAQ
in section X if you don't know what they are) or by completing campaign
episodes.  Good luck!!!

---------                -------------                 ------------
Claire Redfield          -Available From Start-

Evgeny is only available once you've completed "The Struggle", a DLC-only
bonus campaign mission.

For Alex Wesker, you must both beat the main game and complete Raid Mode.
Doing the latter requires you to beat the Omega Gauntlet on Very Hard.  As
detailed above, you will need 450 medallions do unlock this gauntlet.

III:  Gauntlets
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

You start off in Revelations 2 with one Gauntlet and six stages to complete
but very soon you succumb to the addictive nature of this type of game!
Fortunately for you there are a TON of stages and gauntlets to appease you.

Gauntlets IV and onward require you to own future episodes as well as earning
medallions.  The tallies are listed below.

Gauntlet IX is the Throwback maps that are available as DLC.  However, the PS4
version (which I'm playing) is glitched and I cannot test these.

Normal     Hard     Very Hard    Code Red        Prerequisite
             ------     ----     ---------    --------        ------------
    I         ---        30         90         Omega           Episode 1
    II         15        72        162         Omega           Episode 1
    III        45       108        198         Omega           Episode 1
    IV        126       180        300         Omega           Episode 2
    V         144       216        360         Omega           Episode 2
    VI        260       320        400         Omega           Episode 3
    VII       280       360        400         Omega           Episode 3
    VIII      340       360        400         Omega           Episode 4
    Omega     ---       ---        450         All Code Red    Episode 4
IX        DLC       DLC        DLC         Omega           DLC

Again, an overview:

Gauntlet I          Unlocked at beginning
Gauntlets II-VIII   Obtain the # of medallions listed above
Gauntlet IX         DLC-only Throwback Maps (4 lvls)
Omega               Beat to unlock Alex & Code Red difficulty
Omega (Code Red)    Beat all Code Red missions

Gauntlets will be colored based on the number of levels you have completed.

    Lvls      Color
    ----      -----
    6         Silver
    5         Dark Red
    4         Light Red
    3         Orange
    2         Yellow
    1         Green

IV:   The Toolbox
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

At first you can only equip parts that you obtain through evaluating albums.

However, upon completing Gauntlets on normal, you unlock the toolbox (found
next to the weapon bench) where you can combine parts to make higher-level
parts.  This is integral to keeping your weapons brutal as the game progresses.

Each level access allows you to combine parts with higher max levels.  Toolbox
level 4 will unlock the ability to combine parts levels 7 through 9.

Unlock                   Complete                      Cost      Prerequisite
------                   --------                      ----      ------------
Toolbox Level 1          Gauntlet II (Normal)
Toolbox Level 2          Gauntlet IV (Normal)          20,000     Episode 2
Toolbox Level 3          Gauntlet VI (Normal)         130,000     Episode 3
Toolbox Level 4          Gauntlet VIII (Normal)       400,000     Episode 4
Toolbox Level 5          Omega (Very Hard)          1,000,000     Episode 4

VI:   Raid Mode Records
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

This section is really why I started this document.  There is a lot to do and
see and unlock in this game so let's get to it!

You can see Raid Mode Records from the main menu or from the bulletin board in
the vestibule.

With a lot of information, I tried to keep this as easy-to-read as possible.
The first column is the record, the second a concise description and the third
is your reward.  Those unlockables can be cash ($), parts (^) or gestures (+).
Or it could be skill points.

+ indicates the unlockable is a Gesture

VII:   Albums
=-=-=-=-=-=-=

There is a total of three treasure chests on all non-daily stages.  (Four for
Code Red missions). The loot you obtain is colored according to rarity/value.

The hierarchy of rarity for albums (common to rarest) is as follows:

   Color             Rarity
   -----             ------

   Black             0    Stars
   Gold              0.5  Stars
   Green             1    Star
   Blue              1.5  Stars
   Red               2    Stars
   Purple            2.5  Stars
   Rainbow           3    Stars

The loot you get from these chests will be either a Weapon (section VIII below)
or a Part (section IX below it!)  The rarity of the item you receive is coded
by color according to the chart above.  The lower on the list, the higher the
stars and the rarer the item.

The only suggestion I have is to sell off any lower-level weapons you unlock
and to evaluate the rest.  Evaluation costs are relatively low and worst case
you can sell off the loot.  Alternately, you'll want a lot of parts later on
when you want to combine them for higher-level parts.

VIII:   Weapons
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

I may eventually do a full detail of all weapons but for now here is just a
list.

In order to unlock the Weapon Wizard Raid Record, you will need one of each of
the weapons.  You can do this by owning each weapon at any point.  You do not
need to own them all at once.

Guns fall into six categories and you'll need all 24 to get Weapon Wizard.
The number in parentheses indicates how many weapons in each category.

Weapon Type:       Name                    Alternate Name
-----------        ----                    --------------

Handguns           MPM                     Liberator
                  P10                     Coffin Nail
                  Samurai Edge            Bushido
                  Triple Shot             Trident

Shotguns           M147S                   Gravedigger
                  TAP194                  CDecimator
                  Hydra                   Cerberus
                  Drake                   Lindwurm

Machine Pistols    MP-AB50                 Banshee
                  MP-AB50G                Firebolt
                  Chicago Typewriter      Godfather
                  MP-AF                   Goldfish

                  NSR47                   Beelzebub
                  AR High Roller          Million Dollar

Sniper Rifles      M1891/30                Zaytsev
                  SVD                     Overlord
                  Anti-Materiel Rifle     Sledgehammer
                  Muramasa                Unscripted

Magnums            Model 329               Ticket Puncher

                  Anaconda                Basilisk
                  Pale Rider              Grim Reaper

These come in a number of flavors, sometimes gold, sometimes with unique
setups or part attachments.

IX: Parts
=-=-=-=-=

In order to obtain the Parts Pundit record, you will need to collect all the
parts in the game.  It doesn't matter the level and I believe you just need to
have owned it once (rather than having all at one time).

My current count is 41.  This seems to be a complete list but this may be
missing something.  If I am, please let me know!

Some of these are common while others take some time to find.

Column 2 indicates the Max Level that part can be upgraded to.

Not all parts fit all weapons.  Most do.  See (*) below for more information.

Some things in RE:R2 weren't really well detailed and so some end-of-document
questions may remain.  I'll add more here if something is missing but for now,
I think two are necessary.

What Is A Completion Medallion?
------------------------------
This is just when you complete all five medallions on any stage.  When
getting all five, you will see the medallions sparkle.

Note, to unlock characters you will need to obtain 10, 20...90 completion
medallions.  It doesn't matter which character you use (or if you use more
than one).  The medallions will be gold if you completed that stage with
your current character, silver if it's another.

However, you cannot obtain Completion Medallions on the same stage with
       different characters.

What Does Inherit Skills Mean?
-----------------------------

Once you max out a skill for any character you can choose to inherit the
skill (a horrible title for this) which will make it available for use by
       all other characters.

The first I did was Hunk's passive skill Scavenger.  Once maxed out at
level 10, I spent 35 SP to Inherit Skill.  Then, I went to Barry and
   purchased it.

It's worth noting that your new character will still have to purchase and
   upgrade each skill individually.

Once you inherit the skill with your new character you'll unlock the
Branching Out raid record and gain 5 Skill Points.
(Can you do this for each character?)

No Herb Medallion + Life Crystal?
--------------------------------

In order to obtain a Completion Medallion, you must beat a stage without
using any herbs.  You CAN in fact die and respawn using a Life Crystal and
still receive the No Herb Medallion.

What Are The Gauntlet IX Stages & Why Can't I Access Them?
---------------------------------------------------------

The Gauntlet IX stages are from the Throwback Maps DLC.
There are four stages here rather than the six on a normal gauntlet.

On the PS4 those who pre-ordered the game have had issues playing these
levels and even weeks after release, they are still not functional.  I
have yet to test these out.  I fear I never will be able to.
