Welcome to my newest FAQ. Mortal Kombat was just released and being a
diehard MK fan I took advantage to return to FAQ writing. Stryker is my
main character in this game and being participated in many matches I
discovered some helpful tactics that I will cover.

Hope you enjoy this FAQ and don’t forget to add comments or strategies

5. Strategies
===============================================================================
Stryker is good at both, close and long ranges making him an excellent choice
to counter any type of attack. Fast moves in addition to the excellent x-ray
make Stryker a dangerous opponent. Mastering the character's timings and moves
take time, but the below strategies should help you achieve enough confidence
to try him out against human players.

Using long range attacks as well as close moves is what you should be
mastering.

Baton Sweep: D, B, HK
Works on Standing, Block Standing and crouching opponent.

This move should be used in mid to close range sweeping the opponent off his
feet. A typical scenario is when your opponent is standing next to you with
one of the two outcomes:

a. He is about to hit you

As soon as he does, block the attack then immediately use Baton Sweep. The
opponent will have little time to react and will most likely block in return
expecting you to perform a counter attack like punching.

b. He is expecting an attack

Standing near you about to block expecting an attack. Preforming Baton Sweep
will catch him off gard and send him to the ground.

You can link this attack to a combo bu jumping toward your opponent and
punching him followed by Baton Sweep.

This attack is also useful as the opponent is about to perform a special move
like scorpion's spear. Timing it right is key but so does all the attacks so
practice.

Attacking from a mid-range closer to your opponent will most likely land the
attack correctly as Stryker moves little forward once preforming this attack.

Grenade Toss
Works on Standing and crouching opponent

An important multi-range move that can cancel the opponent's attack or
at least reduce some health if he is blocking. As the name suggests,
Stryker tosses a grenade that explodes dealing a fair amount of damage.

This attack has two variations:

a. High Grenade Toss: D, B, HP

The high toss is a long range grenade throw. Useful when your opponent is
far away. Using this while your opponent is about to do his special move
like any spear will cancel it dealing although you may still receive some
damage. Also, useful when your opponent is in the air as this attack tosses
the grenade high enough to hit jumping opponents.

b. Low Grenade Toss: D, B, LP

The low toss is useful in close to mid-range scenarios where you opponent
is jumping in or simply standing nearby. Also useful to cancel the special
attack. Be careful of the opponents Xray when as you will most likely get
caught in close range if he manages to pull it. Using this move after jump
kicking an opponent that ios blocking is wise as he will most likely release
the block after the initial jump attack coming from your side.

Gun Shot: B, F, LP
Same as Grenade Toss but slightly safer.

Firing you gun at the opponent. This move works in any range but is best
used from far away. The attack is very fast meaning you can use this move
even after your opponent initiated his special, in most cases at least.
Timing from long range is what you should be aiming for. You should have
enough time to dock should the opponent used a move.

You can hold the button and wait for your opponent to be in position before
letting go to fire. Very useful when your opponent is in the air about to
land. Make sure your not too close as he can jump kick you canceling your move.

Roll Toss: B, F, LK
This move is very important and works on unblocking opponent.

Roll Toss is one of the most useful moves there is. Upon executing the move,
Stryker rolls toward the opponent and throws him in the opposite direction.
The roll speed is fast enough to confuse your opponent.

Works best from a distance or when your opponent is about to use his special
move like ice or spear as most of them won't hit you as you roll toward him.
Should you fail, immediately jump backwards, block or grab throw you opponent
not giving him any chance to counter. Using this from a close up is not
recommended ass your opponent will most likely be blocking.

Aggravated Assault: B+HP, F+HP

Always use in close range preferably after jumping toward an opponent.
Make sure to time it right as you will have 2 chances of hitting
the opponent and performing an uppercut after it.

Busted X-Ray:

Best used when your opponent is jumping toward you or is about to attack
in close range. A three hit attack that deals a fair amount of damage.

Stryker first appeared in Mortal Kombat 3 followed by Ultimate mortal Kombat 3,
Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Mortal Kombat Armageddon and now Mortal Kombat.

His Story from all the previous games:

Mortal Kombat 3, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Mortal Kombat Trilogy

When the Outworld portal opens over a large city in North America,
panic and chaos rage out of control. Kurtis Stryker was the leader
of the Riot Control Brigade when Shao Kahn began taking souls.
He finds himself the lone survivor of a city once populated by millions.

Ending

Ignorant of why his soul was spared from the Outworld invasion, Stryker
receives a vision from Raiden. He is instructed to travel west. He eventually
meets the rest of Earth's warriors and learns the true meaning of his survival.

He travels back to the city he swore to protect. Kahn is unfamiliar with this
new kombatant and is caught off guard. Stryker defeats the warlord and saves
the entire planet. The chaos that consumed the city in the hours before the
invasion are gone.

Mortal Kombat Armageddon

Ending

The fire of Blaze burned away Stryker's previous notion of justice.
The power coursing through his soul inspired him to fight injustice
on his own terms.

No longer would he allow himself to be confined by the law. He would
strike evil from the shadows, a vigilante who would show no mercy to
the corrupt. He went into seclusion to prepare for his one-man assault
on the wicked. Soon al the realms will know the name Stryker.
