A button = Light Punch
B button = Light Kick
C button = Hard Punch
D button = Hard Kick
b or f = move in that direction
u = jump
uf/ub = jump forward or back
db = defensive crouch
d = crouch
f,f = dash
b,b = backstep
Blocking: Can't counter or avoid an attack? Hold b to block the attack and db
to block low attacks.
Just Defend: Block an attack by tapping instead of holding to recover faster,
gain back health, and it can also be done in air. This is similar to Street
Fighter 3's parry.
Overhead Attack: ever hate it when your opponent blocks low? Make em' pay by
hitting A + B and they must block him to avoid taking damage.
Semi-invincible Upper Body Attack: d + A + B. Low attacks still hurt.
Tactical Offense Position (see T.O.P. Attack)
T.O.P. Attack: after you select your fighter, you have a choice of which 1/3 of
the bar to be your T.O.P mode (Overheat). Attack damage is increased and you
get a special attack by hitting C + D. More damage is done the more T.O.P. you
lose.
Throws: These are done while close to your opponent and it's a cheap way to
cause damage.
Taunt: Merely tease the opponent. (default is L1 for PS2 but Start button in
the arcade).
Command Moves: Some fighters have a small move they can do without any motions.
Just point and attack.
Special Moves: These attacks usually cause more damage than basic attacks and
can also affect the opponent or yourself depending on the move.
S. Power: Moves that can severely hurt the opponent's lifebar. Requires one
full guage
P. Power: More powerful version of P. Power. Requires Maximum guage. Some super
moves are P. Power only.
Safe Fall: Get hit in the air and you can press LP + LK to land on your feet
easier.
Feint: press f or d + A + C to perform a fake attack.
Breaking: Some moves give you a chance to interrupt them to perform another
action. Press LP + LK during a starred move.
Reversal: Block an attack then retaliate immediately.
Counter Hit: Cause extra damage by hitting an opponent in the middle of an
attack.
Short Jump: Tap any up position instead of pressing it to jump low.
Guard Crush: Block too much and you will be stunned and open for extra hits.
Just Defense doesn't count.
Get up n Roll: Press a button upon landing off your feet. Each button will
determine the type of Get Up Roll.
