A. [GS001] VERSION HISTORY

(1.0) [03/04/14] Started Game Guide.

---

B. [GS002] INTRODUCTION

This Guide will represent the FAQ/Walkthrough for Final Fantasy X. Another
Guide will be developed for Final Fantasy X-2. Sections that do not immediately
reflect the MAIN STORYLINE will be indented.

---

C. [GS003] WALKTHROUGH

[MQ001] [ZANARKAND]

Walk towards the crowd and talk to anyone holding a Blitzball. Once you have
done that, walk into the middle of the crowd. You will automatically transition
to the next area of Zanarkand. Go down the road and into the Blitzball Stadium.

[MQ01A] [ZANARKAND - AFTERMATH]

Look on your MINI-MAP. Notice the RED ARROW? Whenever you aren't certain about
where you need to be, refer to your Mini-Map. If you don't see it, or if there
is something in-between that would be to your benefit, this Guide will provide
you with an in-depth reference. Give it a try. I'll meet up with you on the
bridge.

[ZANARKAND - BRIDGE]

See? That wasn't hard at all. Once you arrive on the bridge, you will launch
into a battle against an infinite amount of Sinscales.

Take your time and think before you act. This isn't Final Fantasy XIII, you
will not be attacked until you act against the target. Your job at the moment
is to create a path and move ahead.

Once you have defeated a small handful of Sinscales, you will be introduced to
Sinspawn Ammes and Auron's Overdrive. The Game will instruct you on how to
perform an Overdrive.

O -
|
   SINSPAWN AMMES

Sinspawn Ammes will ONLY attack with DEMI, so hold onto your Potions. This
will not incapacitate you. Use this time to try out both Tidus and Auron's
   battle abilities.
|
O -

Move ahead and inspect the SAVE SPHERE, then proceed along the road until you
are ambushed by SINSCALES on both sides.

O -
|
   SINSCALE ARMY

You'll be pinned against an infinite amount of Sinscales. Your priority in
this battle is to target the Sinscale(s) with the FLICKERING WINGS. After
defeating a small handful of them, Auron will tell you to target the
   bridge mechanism.

At this point, issue Tidus and Auron to both target the bridge mechanism
and keep hitting it until it has been destroyed.
|
O -

[MQ01B] [ZANARKAND - CITYSCAPE]

Hold the [O] Button to drop to the large platform beneath you and approach
Jecht.

[MQ002] [BAAJ TEMPLE - OUTSKIRTS]

Go NORTH-EAST and look for three block-shaped objects on your map. Locate the
CHEST on this platform for 200 GIL. There's another CHEST on a platform
directly WEST by the AL BHED COMPILATION SPHERE which holds POTION (X2).

Proceed towards Baaj Temple and access the SAVE SPHERE on your left.

 O - CHEST - HI POTION - -
 |
The path will branch to left. This leads to a Chest which holds a
   Hi-Potion.
 |
 O -

Continue along the bridge until it breaks. Swim in any direction and you will
be attacked by three Sahagin. Once you defeat two of them, Geosgaeno will
interfere.

O -
|
   GEOSGAENO

It's impossible to defeat Geosgaeno in your condition. It's hard to beat
him near the end of the Game for that matter.

Similar to your battles in Zanarkand, Geosgaeno won't actually defeat you,
he will just punch you for 50% of your Health. Strike him three times and
   the battle will conclude.
|
O -

[MQ02A] [BAAJ TEMPLE - HALL]

Proceed up into the Hall and inspect the CAMPFIRE. Go into the SOUTH-WEST room
by the SAVE SPHERE and inspect the drawer to receive the FLINT. Go back into
the Hall, then proceed NORTH.

 O - CHEST - ETHER - -
 |
Locate a Chest on the SOUTH SIDE of the stairs in the Hall.
 |
 O -

Once in the next room, proceed halfway upstairs and locate the VASE on your
right which holds the WITHERED BOUQUET.

 O - CHEST - HI POTION - -
 |
Exit through the door at the top and locate the Chest on the balcony that
   holds a Hi-Potion.
 |
 O -

Go back to the Hall downstairs and inspect the Campfire. This will lead to the
battle against Klikk.

O - [BB001]
|
   (HP): 1,500 (400)        (ST): Grenade            (BR): N/A

   KLIKK

This battle is the real thing. If you die, it's Game Over. You probably
don't need to waste your Potions just yet. Once your Health has reached
a dangerous level, or you have wounded Klikk to 50% of his total Health,
a small handful of Al Bhed will pour into the room to help.

Use your Ally's [Special > Use > Grenade] to hit Klikk, then use a Potion
   to restore your Health.

O -

[MQ003] [SALVAGE SHIP - DECK]

Speak to the Al Bhed in the back to receive a POTION (X3), then talk to your
mysterious Ally to learn about the SPHERE GRID.

If you missed a piece of information in the Sphere Grid tutorial, talk to the
Al Bhed on the right-hand side of the Salvage Ship and select OPTION #1 to
re-launch the tutorial. After the tutorial, talk to your mysterious Ally again
to begin your mission.

Hold the [O] Button to submerge in the direction of the RED ARROW on your MINI-
MAP.

[MQ03A] [UNDERWATER RUINS]

Swim towards the interface and inspect it to proceed through the door, then
proceed EAST until you are ambushed by some Piranhas. After you have defeated
the Piranhas, inspect the large mechanism on top, then backtrack into the
previous room.

O - [BB002]
|
   (HP): 2,200 (600)        (ST): Grenade            (BR): N/A

   TROS

If you have been holding back on using your Overdrive, Tros is your prime
opportunity to letting loose. Your initial role is to simply deal as much
damage on Tros as possible before he retreats. Your Ally's job is to use
Steal to obtain as many Grenades as possible. Once Tros has retreated, you
will only be able to hit it with Grenades. In regards to Tidus, restore
any lost Health with Potions to prepare for Nautilus Charge.

After Nautilus Charge, it's back to performing your strongest attacks on
Tros. Use your initial turn to restore your Health, then issue your Ally
   to Steal.

Eventually, Tros will ready Nautilus Charge again. If it's your Ally's
turn, toss a Grenade. If it's Tidus's turn, use the Trigger Command known
as PINCER ATTACK to prevent Tros from performing Nautilus Charge. That's
   it! Finish him off.

(AP): 8 (12)              (GL): 100                 (IT): Power Sphere

O -

Once you are ready to leave the Ruins, proceed outside in the direction of the
RED ARROW. This will lead you back to the Salvage Ship.

 O - AL BHED PRIMER VOL. 1 - -
 |
Pick up the Al Bhed Primer Vol. I in the back-right part of the Salvage
Ship - Deck. You will not be able to return here later.
 |
 O - [AP001]

Once you are ready to leave the Salvage Ship, talk to Rikku. This will lead
you to Besaid Island.

[MQ004] [ISLE OF BESAID - BEACH]

 O - CHEST - ANTIDOTE (X2) - -
 |
Go to the WESTERN part of the shore near the Dock to locate a Chest that
   holds two Antidotes.
 |
 O - CHEST - MOON CREST
 |
Go EAST to locate a Chest on a private beach which holds a Moon Crest.
 |
 O -

Go to the shore and approach the Aurochs. After Wakka has introduced himself,
proceed SOUTH to the Crossroads. Go to the right and you will be pushed into
the river below.

[MQ04A] [ISLE OF BESAID - VALLEY]

 O - CHEST - PHOENIX DOWN - -
 |
Underwater, SOUTH-WEST. Same area where you dropped into the Valley.
 |
 O - CHEST - ANTIDOTE (X2)
 |
Underwater. Look for a Chest immediately when the river begins to dip
   NORTH.
 |
 O -

Go through the Valley until Wakka decides to catch up with you. This will lead
you to the Village Slope. Continue down until you reach Besaid Village.

[MQ04B] [BESAID VILLAGE]

 O - CHEST - PHOENIX DOWN - -
 |
Open the Chest in front of the Shop.
 |
 O - CHEST - HI-POTION, 400 GIL, POTION (X2) - -
 |
Go into the brush behind the Crusader's Lodge to locate three Chests.
 |
 O -

 O - AL BHED PRIMER VOL. 2 - -
 |
On the ground in the Crusader's Lodge (By the Desk).
 |
 O - [AP002]

As the Crusaders will have a pivatol role in this Game, you may want to enter
the Crusader's Lodge on the left and talk to Luzzu and Gatta. Afterwards, go
into the Temple.

 O - HISTORY OF SPIRA - -
 |
If you are looking for a brief run-down on Spira, talk to Gramps inside
the Temple. He will provide you with a brief description of Sin, Sin's
Toxin, Yevon, Zanarkand and High Summoners. If he isn't inside the Temple,
he will be wandering around Besaid.
 |
 O -

Once you have seen the statue of Lord Braska inside the Temple, return to
Wakka in Besaid and agree to take a rest. Once you wake up, go back to the
Temple and talk to Wakka.

[MQ04C] [BESAID - CLOISTER OF TRIALS]

Objectives will be identified in Tiers. Once you have performed a task in the
Cloister of Trials, a new tier will begin in this Guide. This has been done to
assist in maneuvering through the Guide.

[T1]    Inspect the Glyph AHEAD, then the Glyph on your RIGHT.

[T2]    Halfway downstairs is Glyph Sphere #1. Grab it and put it into the door
at the bottom. Once the door has been opened, remove the Glyph Sphere
       from the door.

[T3]    Halfway through the Hallway is a recess on your left. Put the Glyph
Sphere in there. Don't remove the Destruction Sphere.

[T4]    Go through the Hallway until you reach a pedestal. Touch the Glyphs on
the opposite side of the pedestal and acquire the Besaid Sphere inside.
Place the Besaid Sphere into the pedestal.

DO NOT MOVE THE PEDESTAL YET.

[T5]    Grab the Destruction Sphere from [T3] and place it in the Glyph where
you acquired the Besaid Sphere [T4].

[T6]    Proceed to the end of the corridor and open the Chest to receive a Rod
       of Wisdom.

[T7]    Return to the pedestal at [T4] and move it towards the shining Glyph.

[MQ04D] [BESAID VILLAGE]

Go to the middle of Besaid Village to watch the Summoner call her Aeon. At
nightfall, approach the Summoner and she will introduce herself as Yuna. Talk
to Wakka when you are ready to call it a night.

After a DREAM SEQUENCE and some rough remarks from Lulu, you will wake up in
the Crusader's Lodge. Go out into Besaid Village to meet up with Wakka and
Lulu.

Before you leave Besaid, head into the Shop and talk to the Shopkeeper, then
inspect the dog inside the NORTH-EAST TENT. You will acquire a new ability for
Valefor.

[MQ04E] [ISLE OF BESAID - OUTSET]

As you progress towards the beach, you will go through a handful of battles
that introduce you to important aspects of defeating your targets in battle.
You will be using these tactics in almost every battle in the Game, so don't
ignore it.

   KIMAHRI

This is basically a quick back-and-forth battle against Kimahri. He
will regularly just attack you for about 50 points to your Health.
However, he also uses an attack known as 'Jump', which hits for about 100
   points to your Health.

Don't waste a Potion unless you drop below 200 Health. You can save your
Overdrives, too, as this battle won't last long.

O -

Continue through the Ancient Road and Waterfall Way until you reach the
Crossroads, then go SOUTH to the Beach.

[MQ04F] [ISLE OF BESAID - BEACH]

Speak to all the Villagers on the Beach as they will provide you with Items
and Gil to assist in your journey. Once you are ready to leave Besaid, board
onto the S.S. Liki.

[MQ005] [S.S. LIKI]

Once aboard the S.S. Liki, approach Yuna, then talk to Wakka, then talk to the
Kilika Villagers near the Aurochs, then drop into the Corridor on the back side
of the vessel.

 O - CHEST - REMEDY, POTION - -
 |
Go into the Corridor underneath the S.S. Liki, then into the Cabin on the
left. You'll find a Chest in here which holds a Remedy. You can repeatedly
kick the briefcase on the right for a large handful of Potions.
 |
 O -
 O - AL BHED PRIMER VOL. 3 - -
 |
Go into the Power Room behind O'aka and pick up the Al Bhed Primer in the
   BOTTOM-RIGHT.
 |
 O - [AP003]

 O - DONATING TO O'AKA - -
 |
O'aka will reduce the cost of his wares at Mushroom Rock, depending on the
   amount you have donated:

   [1 - 100 Gil]:          Price Markup will be 200%
   [100 - 1000 Gil]:       Price Markup will be 150%
   [1001 - 10,000 Gil]:    Price Markup will be 120%
[10,000+ Gil]:          Price Markup will be 70%

Honestly, O'aka doesn't have much to benefit from to put out 10,000 Gil.
You'd be better off to donate 1,001 Gil.
 |
 O -

Once you are done in the Corridor, return to the Deck and talk to Yuna.

O - [BB004]

   (SINSCALE)
   (HP): 200 (400)          (ST): N/A                (BR): N/A

   (SIN)
   (HP): 2,000              (ST): N/A                (BR): N/A

Start the battle by taking out two of the Sinscales and issue Wakka to use
Dark Attack on the third. If you take out all three Sinscales, three more
will immediately take it's place. Once you hit it the Sinscale with Dark
Attack, bring out Wakka, Lulu and Kimahri and don't hit the Sinscale again.

The Sinscale will still be able to hurt you with Spines, it just won't be
have much success with regular attacks. Order Kimahri to use Lancet on Sin,
while Lulu uses Black Magic and Wakka throws his Blitzball. Repeat until
   the battle has concluded.

If you start dropping low on Health, toss a Potion. Tidus will not be of
   much help in this battle.
|
O -

O - [BB005]
|
   (SINSPAWN ECHUILLES)
   (HP): 2000 (400)         (ST): N/A                (BR): N/A

This battle will involve Tidus and Wakka. Echuilles uses a tactic known as
Drain Touch which is basically a life leech. As such, you should hit it
with Dark Attack, refreshing it in three-turn intervals. This will prevent
Drain Attack from leeching life. It will also reduce the amount of damage
   dealt by Blender.

In regards to the Sinscales, they hit for about 50 Health and will not
attack again, but they will return in multiples of two. Don't worry too
much on taking out the Sinscales as you don't want to draw this battle out
more than need-be. They'll typically attack two at a time, with no more
than four within the battle perimeter.

You will need to toss Potions regularly to keep yourself healthy as Yuna
will not be here to help you. Once you take out Echuilles, the Sinscales
   will disappear, too.

[MQ006] [KILIKA PORT]

Go towards the Pub and proceed WEST to meet up with Lulu. Exit the Inn in the
morning and Datto will tell you that Wakka is looking for you. You'll find
Wakka to the EAST, near the Pub.

 O - AL BHED PRIMER VOL. 4 - -
 |
Go into the Pub. The Al Bhed Primer is on the table.
 |
 O - [AP004]

After talking to Wakka, head back towards the Inn. You will see a platform on
the left with a child kneeling in tears. Approach her and Tidus will rescue
her as the platform begins to collapse. We'll collect your prize when we come
back from the Temple. Continue NORTH into Kilika Woods.

[MQ06A] [KILIKA - WOODS]

You'll be introduced to a tutorial with Kimahri in Kilika Woods. Once you have
passed that, your destination will be the Kilika Temple.

 O - LANCET - SEED CANNON - -
 |
   Use Lancet on a Ragora.
 |
 O - [KO001]

 O - CHEST - MANA SPHERE - -
 |
Go EAST at the intersection by the Save Sphere until you reach a Chest
   holding a Mana Sphere.
 |
 O - CHEST - SCOUT - -
 |
This is a Blitzball for Wakka. Go WEST from the intersection by the Save
Sphere, then NORTH when you reach the second intersection.
 |
 O -

There are two direct routes to Kilika Temple. You can defeat Lord Ochu to the
NORTH, or proceed WEST and ignore it.

O - [BB006]
|
   (LORD OCHU)
   (HP): 4649 (800)         (ST): Potion             (BR): Remedy X80 (92,980)

Before you jump into this battle, be aware that Lord Ochu isn't mandatory
and you may retreat if it becomes too difficult. That being said, Lord
Ochu has a ton of Health and some powerful tactics. Most of his attacks
   will also inflict Poison.

Should you decide not to summon Valefor, Lulu is an absolute lifesaver in
this battle, as Lord Ochu is primarily weak against Fire. Kimahri will
receive no benefit in using Lancet and Ochu is immune to Wakka's Sleep
   Attack and Dark Attack.

Once you have dealt about 50% to Lord Ochu's Health, he will doze off and
begin to regain it. Each turn that passes while Sleep is active, Lord Ochu
will regain about 900 Health. Once you have knocked Lord Ochu out of
Sleep, he will immediate counter with Earthquake. This will deal damage to
the whole party at 50% of their Max HP. Summon Valefor and attack Lord
Ochu, as Earthquake will not affect this Aeon. Once Lord Ochu has used
Earthquake, hit it with Sonic Wings repeatedly, but watch the bar in the
upper-right. Dismiss Valefor ONLY when you are unable to use Sonic Wings
   before Lord Ochu's turn.

If you want to hit Lord Ochu with an Overkill, you will need to weaken
   him and use Valefor's Overdrive.

Talk to Luzzu if you beat Lord Ochu to receive an Elixir. From Lord Ochu's
position, proceed NORTH until you pass by three Crusaders. You can talk to the
Commander to obtain a Hi-Potion.

 O - CHEST - LUCK SPHERE - -
 |
From the three Crusders, proceed NORTH to reach a Treasure Chest holding a
   Luck Sphere.
 |
 O -

From the Commander, you can proceed SOUTH to Luzzu and Gatta, then WEST to the
Crusaders and talk to another Commander to obtain a Remedy. Otherwise, head
EAST, then NORTH to reach Kilika Temple.

|
   (SINSPAWN GENEAUX)
   (HP): 3000 (900)         (ST): N/A                (BR): N/A

Start by attacking the Tentacles before you attack Geneaux. Geneaux will
take minimal damage while he is protected. Geneaux will also retaliate if
you attempt to attack it with the tentacles active.

Once you deal with the Tentacles, Lulu will need to repeatedly use Fire on
it until Geneaux bursts out. You will need cast Esuna when Geneaux uses
Venom, but just keep hitting it with Fire.

[MQ06B] [KILIKA - TEMPLE]

Go towards the interior of the Temple and you will be introduced to the Luca
Goers. Keep going into the Temple and talk to Wakka, then proceed into the
Cloister of Trials.

Once you have been left alone, step onto the platform and Donna will return to
handle your problem. Proceed NORTH from the platform into the Cloister of
Trials.

[MQ06C] [KILIKA - CLOISTER OF TRIALS]

Objectives will be identified in Tiers. Once you have performed a task in the
Cloister of Trials, a new tier will begin in this Guide. This has been done to
assist in maneuvering through the Guide.

[T1]    Remove the Kilika Sphere from the pedestal and place it into the
recess by the door. Remove the Kilika Sphere and proceed through to
       [T2].

[T2]    Place the Kilika Sphere into the recess on the NORTH WALL. Remove the
Kilika Sphere and place it into the recess on the WEST WALL.

[T3]    Touch the Glyph. You will not be able to touch the Glyph while holding
       a Sphere.

[T4]    Remove the Glyph Sphere from the pedestal and place it into the recess
       on the EAST WALL.

[T5]    Grab the Kilika Sphere from the WEST WALL and place it into the recess
       on the pedestal.

[T6]    Push the pedestal NORTH-EAST towards the WALL OF FIRE and place it on
       the SHINING GLYPH.

[T7]    Remove the Kilika Sphere from the EAST WALL and return to Room 1. Put
the Kilika Sphere into the recess on the WEST WALL.

[T8]    Remove the Glyph Sphere from the EAST WALL and proceed to Room 2. Put
the Glyph Sphere into the recess on the EAST WALL.

[T9]    Once you have put out the WALL OF FIRE, proceed downstairs and remove
the Kilika Sphere from the LOWER EAST WALL.

[T10]   Place the Kilika Sphere into the recess by the door on the NORTH WALL.
       Do not remove it.

[T11]   Go to the EAST WALL in Room 2 at [T8] and remove the Destruction
Sphere. Place the Destruction Sphere into the recess at [T9]. Open the
       Chest for a Red Armlet.

[T12]   Remove the Kilika Sphere from the NORTH WALL at [T10] and proceed into
       the Antechamber.

Once you are in the Antechamber, approach Wakka, Lulu and Kimahri, talk to
Wakka, then to Lulu, then proceed back towards the Cloister of Trials. Once
you return to Kilika Temple, backtrack to Kilika Port.

[MQ06D] [KILIKA PORT]

 O - CHEST - POTION (X3) - -
 |
First building on the right as your return from Kilika Woods. Open the
   Chest for three Potions.
 |
 O - CHEST - ETHER - -
 |
If you helped the Girl off the platform, the Chest in the Pub will contain
   an Ether.
 |
 O -

Once you are ready to leave for Luca, approach your party on the Dock, SOUTH
of the Pub.

[MQ007] [S.S. WINNO]

 O - CHEST - HI-POTION - -
 |
There is a Chest hidden behind Letty and Jassu holding a Hi-Potion.
 |
 O -

Exit the Cabin on the EAST WALL into the Corridor. If you missed your chance
to donate to O'aka, you can do it in here, too. Proceed out to the Deck.

 O - AL BHED PRIMER VOL. 5 - -
 |
Go inside the Bridge aboard the S.S. Winno.
 |
 O - [AP005]

Approach Yuna at the back of the S.S. Winno, then talk to her after the Luca
Goers have wandered off. Continue to the upper deck to listen in on Wakka and
Lulu. Keep trying to walk onto the upper deck until you aren't interrupted by
dialog. Once you are on the upper deck, talk to Lulu and Wakka.

Access, the Save Sphere, then inspect the Blitzball at the front of the S.S.
Winno.

 O - BLITZBALL - JECHT SHOT - -
 |
You would do well to access the Save Sphere before approaching the
   Blitzball.

Performing the Jecht Shot properly will add the Jecht Shot to your list of
techniques in Luca, as well as some added dialog with Wakka and Yuna.

Watch the instructions on-screen for information on proper technique of
the Jecht Shot. You'll go through a brief tutorial before you do the real
   thing.

If you performed the Jecht Shot properly, talk to Yuna. After talking to
Yuna, you will wind up in Luca.
 |
 O -

[MQ008] [LUCA]

Proceed from the No. 2 Dock to the No. 3 Dock and you will be introduced to
Maester Seymour and Maester Mika. Afterwards, you will arrive in the Locker
Room.

 O - BLITZBALL FAQ - -
 |
Blitzball is perhaps one of the most proactive Mini-Games you will find
in a Final Fantasy title. Not just that, but it possesses a Tournament,
Seasonal Statistics, and rewards you with useful in-game Accessories and
Items to aid you in your journey. You don't need to be in Luca to play
Blitzball, just go to the nearest Save Sphere.

Before we jump into playing Blitzball, you need to be briefed on the
   basics.

   [BZ001] [PLAYER STATS]

[BC] Ball Carrier. Used as a reference for the purpose of this Guide.
[OP] Opposing Player. Used as a reference for the purpose of this Guide.

[HP] Your Hit Points will basically determine what you are able to do
while in possession of the ball. It represents your remaining
Stamina. Once this has dropped to 0, you will not be able to perform
Techniques. When your HP has been depleted, your Stats will drop by
50%. Your Hit Points will begin to rise when you aren't in possession
of the ball. Your HP may also be affected by Techniques.

[EN] Endurance represents your ability to withstand tackles. Endurance
will drop when you are tackled by a player on opposition. If your EN
is depleted, you will be playing on Defense.

[PA] Your ability to perform a Pass will be determined by Defense and
Distance. Opposition will NOT be able to intercept if they are not
within a close proximity of the [BC]. Your PA will deplete when
a Pass has been made, or when Defense attempts to Block. Once your
PA has been depleted, Defense will be in possession.

[SH] Shooting represnts your ability to score against the Defender, as
well as the Distance in which a Shot can be made. Your SH may be
increased based on particular Techniques. Your SH will deplete when
it begins to travel, or Defense attempts to Block.

[AT] Attacking determines your ability to Tackle and affects the Defender's
Endurance. Certain Techniques may be applied to increase your [AT].

[BL] Blocking determines your ability to intercept a Pass or Shot. Your BL
may be affected by Techniques. It typically needs to be higher than
the PA or SH Value to perform a successful Block.

[CA] Catching represents the Goalie's ability to block a Shot and may be
        increased by Techniques.

   [BZ002] [ACTION COMMANDS]

You perform an Action Command by pressing the Square Button. You should
attempt to perform an Action Command when you are not in close proximity
   to the [OP].

Should you attempt to initiate an Action Command with a Defender nearby,
you will be need to perform a Breakthrough / No Break to proceed as the
   Carrier.

The three Action Commands you are able to use are Pass, Shoot and Dribble.

   [BZ003] [PLAYER MOVEMENT]

Control of the [BC] will initially be set as Auto, which is recommended
for beginners. You will be able to select Action Commands, but you will
not be able to move the [BC]. Attached with [Auto] are [Manual A] and
   [Manual B]

[MA] Manual A - You direct the [BC] in relationship to the Mini-Map.
[MB] Manual B - Movement is based on the [BC] Point-of-View.

You can set a Mark for your Teammates, but you are not able to control
   them within the Dome.

   [BZ004] [ENCOUNTERS & BREAKTHROUGHS]

An Encounter will occur when the [OP] has touched the [BC], or the [BC]
has initiated an Action Command in close proximity to the Defender.

During an Encounter, you will need to decide on whether you want to pass
to a teammate or proceed as the [BC]. If you are preceded by an [OP], then
you will need to decide on performing a Breakthrough or No Break before an
   Action Command can be made.

By performing a No Break, the [BC] will attempt to perform a Pass. Anyone
who is in proximity of the [BC] will attempt to intercept to claim
possession. This will be affected by your [PA] Stat which corresponds to
the COMBINED [BL] of the Defenders.

Should you attempt to perform a Breakthrough, you will need to withstand
your [OP], represented by their [AT] andn based on your [EN]. The more
Breakthroughs you attempt to perform, the larger [EN] you will need to
   resume possession.

You will also need to decide on whether or not the [OP] will perform a
Technique to inflict additional damage to your [PA] or [EN]. You will not
receive an indication of this during an Encounter until the Technique has
   been performed.

Should your [EN] or [PA] be depleted during a Breakthrough / No Break, the
   [OP] will claim possession.

   [BZ005] [TECHCOPY]

Players have the ability to perform a Techcopy to learn Techniques from
the [OP]. You must have the [OP] MARKED to learn their Techniques and that
Technique will not be available until intermission or the beginning of the
   match.

To acquire a Technique, perform a Breakthrough on an [OP] and press the X
Button when the "Techcopy!" label presents itself. If your [OP] is of a
much higher Level, you will not be able to Techcopy.

   [BZ006] [STATUS AILEMNTS]

Blitzball has three different types of Status Ailments that you may be
   affected by.

[POISON]    Induces a rapid drop in your Hit Points until it reaches '0'.
Techniques are available to prevent Poison.

[SLEEP]     Character will be inactive. Perform a Pass on them to break
them out of Sleep. Techniques ar available to prevent Sleep.

[WITHER]    Reduces a particular Stat by 50% (PA, EN, BL, SH, CA). Attach
               a Technique to prevent Wither.

   [BZ007] [TECHNIQUES]

Attached is an alphabetical list of Blitzball Techniques.

   [BZ008] [GAME MODES]

There are three different Game Modes -- League, Tournament and Exhibition:

[LG]        You play 10 Games per League, with (3) pts. added for a Win, or
               (1) pts. for a Tie. Your position in the League will be based
on your total points achieved in those 10 Games.

[TM]        Tournaments will span betwee 2-3 Games. There aren't any Draws,
so a match will turn to Overtime when a circumstance presents
               itself.

[EX]        Exhibitions are a means of practice in which no Experience is
awarded, but you can still acquire Techniques. You can press
the Triangle Button to drop out of an Exhibition in-progress.

Despite an insightful remark from Tidus, Lulu will need to hit the Crane
with Thunder three times before it can be used against the Oblitzerator.

The Oblitzerator will regularly attack with Blind Ball and has an ability
that will pummel Kimahri, Lulu and Tidus with a barrage of Blitzballs. It
may also attempt to use Mute Ball that will prevent Lulu from using
Thunder. Should this happen, use an Echo Screen or a Remedy.

Once you have used the Crane, the Oblitzerator will no longer be able to
attack. You'll be able to destroy it with a single use of Thunder.

 O - [AP006]

From the Main Entrance, proceed into the Auroch's Locker Room and be prepared
for your first Blitzball Game. Once you have brought Yuna back to Wakka, return
into the Auroch's Locker Room. If you need a refresher on how to play
Blitzball, talk to Datto. Otherwise, talk to Wakka.

Your inital match will not allow you to make adjustments to your team until
you reach Halftime.

 O - HALFTIME - -
 |
You might have noticed in the middle of the match that your two Defenders
just moved around in circles while Offense passed right by them.

Before you begin Round 2, be sure to review the STATS on the Luca Goers, as
Halftime will let you make adjustments in terms of MARKS and TECHNIQUES.

      [BICKSON]

      SPD: 60           HP: 140
      END: 12          ATK: 3
      PAS: 5           BLK: 2
      SHT: 12          CAT: 1

Bickson will be able to score on Keepa and is tough to tackle while in
possession. Bickson has a weak Pass and will not be a problem when you
      attempt to Pass or Breakthrough.

      [ABUS]

      SPD: 60           HP: 130
      END: 9           ATK: 3
      PAS: 4           BLK: 1
      SHT: 13          CAT: 1

Abus will be able to score on Keepa and is moderately tough to tackle
while in possession. Abus has a weak Pass and will not be a problem
when you attempt to Pass or Breakthrough.

      [GRAAV]
</pre><pre id="faqspan-2">

      END: 9           ATK: 8
      PAS: 14          BLK: 9
      SHT: 9           CAT: 2

Graav is balanced between Offense and Defense. He will only be able to
score on Keepa while in close proximity of your Goal. With his high
EN and PA, Graav will likely perform a Breakthrough on your strongest
Defender, then Pass to Bickson or Abus through your Defenders with the
poorest BL Value. With his high ATK and BLK, Graav will also present
problems during a Breakthrough or Pass.

      [DORAM]

      SPD: 60           HP: 142
      END: 3           ATK: 9
      PAS: 7           BLK: 5
      SHT: 1           CAT: 1

Doram will not attempt to perform a Shot on Keepa, but his high ATK and
medium BL Values might present problems during Encounters. Doram will
      likely be on Defense.

      [BALGERDA]

      SPD: 60           HP: 141
      END: 5           ATK: 9
      PAS: 9           BLK: 8
      SHT: 1           CAT: 1

Much like Doram, Balgera will not attempt to perform a Shot on Keepa,
but his high ATK and BL Values might present problems during Encounters.
Balgerda will likely be on Defense.

      [RAUDY]

      SPD: 60           HP: 142
      END: 4           ATK: 2
      PAS: 2           BLK: 4
      SHT: 1           CAT: 8

Raudy will be the Goalie, determined by his high CAT Value.

With this information, you need to refer to the Aurochs to determine what
would be an ideal matchup. Stats will vary based on your performance in
   Round 1.

 O -

Round 2 will allow you to use your Techniques, but your Game will be abruptly
interrupted  at 3:00. If you are in the middle of a Pass or Shot, that will
be interrupted, too.

Following Round 2, the Sphere Pool will be attacked by several Sahagin Chiefs.
Use Wakka's Dark Attack to help in defeating the Sahagin Chiefs until you are
reintroduced to Auron. Finish off the Fiends that threaten Luca, then proceed
towards the City Outskirts and talk to Yuna.

[MQ009] [MI'IHEN HIGHROAD]

 O - MAECHEN - MI'IHEN HIGHROAD - -

   (IFRIT)
   (HP): 3500 (560)         (ST): N/A                (BR): N/A

Ifrit has a bar above him which represents his Overdrive. Once it reaches
100%, Ifrit will use Hellfire. The ONLY Aeon you may use in this battle is
Valefor. Since Ifrit has a high amount of Health, you won't be able to win
   with just the 'Attack' Command.

Ifrit will alternate between Attack and Meteor Strike, while your role
would be best suited for repeated use of 'Blizzard'. Once you use Blizzard,
you need to respond with Shield before before Ifrit uses Meteor Strike.

Keep doing this until you have maxed out your Overdrive, but don't use it
until Valefor is ONE HIT from a K/O. If you do it before-hand and it
doesn't K/O Ifrit, he will retaliate with a barrage of attacks.

If you defeat Belgemine, you will receive an Echo Ring. Defeat will at
least reward you with a Seeker's Ring.

 O -

O'aka will be near the SOUTHERN tip of the Canyon. This will also be your LAST
OPPORTUNITY to donate Gil to O'aka.

[10,000 GIL]    Earns you a Moon Ring.

Donating to the Crusader will not affect the outcome of Operation Mi'ihen.
 |
 O -

The Crusader will stop you as you attempt to proceed through the Gate. Return
towards the Mi'ihen Highroad until and Maester Seymour will let you through.
After meeting with Seymour again on Mushroom Rock Road, proceed towards the
RED ARROW on your Map.

Talk to the Crusaders to obtain an Ether, Hi-Potion and two Phoenix Downs. You
will then meet up with Clasko who will redirect you NORTH-WEST.

You'll have an opportunity to purchase Items and Equipment from O'aka before
you proceed ahead. These will be discounted depending on the total amount you
donated to him before-hand.

Additional Crusaders in this area will provide you with a Hi-Potion, ten
Potions,

Examine the platform next to the Crusader and proceed NORTH. You will meet up
with Lucil who will instruct you to proceed to the Command Center.

 O - CHEST - 1,000 GIL - -
 |
In a Chest next to the Crusader after meeting up with Lucil.
 |
 O -

Continue to your left (WEST) and talk to Lucil. She will proceed down the path
towards Shelinda.

 O - CHEST - REMEDY - -

 |
 O -

to Luzzu and Gatta. Go around the bend to locate the Al Bhed Primer.
 |
 O - [AP010]

Speak to the Crusader before approaching Luzzu and Gatta to receive a Mega-
Potion. You'll now be put into a tough predicament.

O - [SPOILER] THE FATE OF LUZZU AND GATTA - -
 |
Approach Luzzu and Gatta, then talk to Luzzu after Gatta runs off. Take the
lift up to the Plateau, then proceed to the Ridge. You'll see Gatta by the
   Save Sphere.

Talk to Gatta ONCE and he will walk next to the Machina Cannon, SOUTH of
the Command Center. Talking to Gatta again will bring up a prompt.

[CHOICE #1]    Encourages Gatta to join the battle, Luzzu is killed by Sin.
[CHOICE #2]    Gatta will not join the battle, Luzzu is killed by Sin.

Saving Luzzu requires a bit more pressure on Gatta. Talk to Gatta a THIRD

Your target is the Torso, but you will not be able to inflict damage upon
it until both Arms have been destroyed. Once you have destroyed the Arms,
you will have a brief opportunity to attack the Torso.

Let's back up to the bit about the Head and the Arms. As long as the Arms
are up, the Torso can only be hit with Magic. You'll need to attack both
Arms directly until the Torso is no longer protected. Yes, the Arms CAN be
attacked directly without incurring reduced damage. In regards to the Head,
hit it with Wakka/Lulu as soon as it begins to move. This will be presented
   with a prompt.

Now before you do ANY of that, use Auron's Power Break on the Torso and
make sure Haste it up before you destroy the Arms. Once you have destroyed
both the Head and the Arms, the battle will be a simple rinse and repeat
   process.

Once you defeat Sinspawn Gui, repeat the battle process using Yuna, Auron

[MQ11B] [DJOSE TEMPLE - CLOISTER OF TRIALS]

Objectives will be identified in Tiers. Once you have performed a task in the
Cloister of Trials, a new tier will begin in this Guide. This has been done to
assist in maneuvering through the Guide.

[T1]    Remove the Djose Sphere from the WEST WALL and place it in the recess
       on the NORTH WALL.

[T2]    Remove the Djose Sphere from the EAST WALL and place it in the recess
       on the NORTH WALL.

[T3]    Go through the Corridor into Room 2 and remove the Djose Sphere from
the recess to the left of the large Glyph. Place it into one of the two
       recesses on the EAST SIDE.

[T4]    Remove the Djose Sphere from the recess to the right of the large
Glyph and place it into the remaining recess on the EAST SIDE.

[T5]    Push the pedestal with the Djose Sphere to the EAST SIDE until it is
       positioned underneath the Generator.

[T6]    Remove the Djose Sphere from the pedestal and place it into the recess
to the right of where you had previously seen the large Glyph. This
       will open up Room 3.

[T6]    Step on the Glyph on the WEST SIDE of Room 2 to reset the PEDESTAL.

[T7]    Remove the one of the Djose Sphere from the EAST SIDE and place it into
the right-hand pedestal recess. Remove the SECOND Djose Sphere on the
EAST SIDE and place it into the left-hand pedestal recess.

[T8]    Push the pedestal NORTH into Room 3 until it drops off the ledge. Jump
to the ledge in the back of Room 3 and inspect the Djose Sphere before
       returning to Room 2.

[T9]    Step on the Glyph on the WEST SIDE of Room 2 to reset the PEDESTAL.

[T10]   Remove the Djose Sphere from the recess on the pedestal and place it
into the recess on the WEST WALL of Room 1. Go back to the pedestal
and remove the SECOND Djose Sphere, placing it into the recess on the
       EAST WALL of Room 1.

[T11]   While in Room 2, remove the Djose Sphere from the recess on the RIGHT
SIDE of Room 3. Place it into the recess on the LEFT SIDE, OUTSIDE of
       Room 3.

[T12]   Ride the platform to the UPPER LEVEL of Room 2.

[T13]   Push in the FIVE PEDESTALS to open the door to the Antechamber. Don't
go into the Antechamber yet as you still need the Destruction Sphere.

[OBTAINING THE DESTRUCTION SPHERE]

[T14]   Go down to the LOWER LEVEL of Room 2. You'll see a shimmering Glyph on
the WEST WALL. Inspect the Glyph to reveal a hidden recess holding the
Destruction Sphere. Take the Destruction Sphere to the UPPER LEVEL of
Room 2 and place it into the PEDESTAL. Open the Chest to receive a
       Magic Sphere.

[T15]   Exit into the Antechamber.

Once inside the Antechamber, wait for Dona and Barthello to arrive. Move back
to the door next to Auron and Yuna will re-emerge. Afterwards, you will be
back outside the Djose Temple.

With Ixion's best attribute being Speed, you would do well to bring out
Valefor with repeated use of Sonic Wings. Once you have maxed out your
Overdrive, hit Ixion with Energy Blast.

You'll receive two Dragon Scales for beating Belgemine, or six Smoke Bombs

If Spherimorph uses FIRE, use BLIZZARD. If it uses BLIZZARD, use FIRE. If
it uses WATER, use LIGHTNING. If it uses LIGHTNING, use WATER. Simple,
right? Almost. Once you hit it with Magic, it will perform an Elemental
   Shift.

Press is Spherimorph's most damaging ability as it will hit all three for
about 1/4 of the Health. Have Auron hit Spherimorph with Power Break and

The Negator will negate all WHITE MAGIC and BLACK MAGIC, but not Skills.
If Wakka has a "Lightningstrike" Blitzball like Thunder Ball, use it on
the Negator. Fire, Water and Ice will be halved on both the Negator and
the Crawler. Don't equip anything that uses these Elements.

Once the Negator has been destroyed, bring in Lulu and hit the Crawler
with your most powerful "Thunder" Magic.

Unfortunately, as soon as the Negator has been destroyed, the Crawler will
be able to unleash it's most powerful attack, "Mana Beam". This will deal
an immense amount of party-wide damage, but it CAN be interrupted. Swap out
for Rikku and Lulu, using Thundara and Electro Marbles obtained from the
Gold Elements in the Thunder Plains.

You would also benefit from casting Haste before the Negator re-emerges.
(Slow will also work on the Crawler.) The Negator doesn't disarm active
buffs on the Party, it just prevents you from using them.

If you aren't able to interrupt Mana Beam before it's used, Summon an Aeon
so it doesn't wipe you out. The Crawler will not be able to  use Mana Beam
when the Negator is re-released. Do NOT destroy the Negator while the
Crawler is still readying Mana Beam.

The Crawler will also counterattack each time it is struck in combat. You

Protect or just Heal through it.

                                  Farplane Shadow

While 6,000 HP might not appear to be that intimidating, Seymour has three
phases, including a rather difficult Aeon. Don't bring out your Aeons until
   Phase 2.

The Guardsmen will start the battle by casting Protect, while Seymour will
cast Shell. Before you Dispel this, use your Trigger Commands to talk to
Seymour. Wakka, Yuna and Tidus are the only three who can benefit from the
   Trigger Command.

Once you have passed through your Trigger Commands, put up Haste, then
bring out Rikku and use Steal on the Guardsmen to prevent them from using
Auto-Potions. Once you are ready to take out the Guardsmen, cast Dispel
on the Guardsman you are about to attack. Remember to do the same with
   the other Guardsman.

Once the Guardsmen have been defeated, you will be able to attack Seymour
without Guado interference. Once Seymour has taken a couple of hits, he
   will bring out Anima.

You'll have a limited amount of time to defeat Anima. If you don't have an
Aeon out by the time Anima casts Oblivion, it's an automatic Game Over.
If you don't have an Aeon out when Anima casts Pain, it's Instant Death on
   that Character.

Your best move it to have Summon Shiva, identified by the new "????" in
the Aeon Menu. Use Blizzara on Shiva to restore her Health and put up
Shield before Anima uses Oblivion. Do not use Diamond Dust on until Anima
is below 10,000 Health and put up NulBlaze before you do it.

Presuming you used your Overdrive to take out Anima, Seymour will now hit
Shiva with a couple of Level 3 Attacks (Firaga, Blizzaga, Thundaga and
Waterga.) NulBlaze is important because it will hopefully keep Shiva on
   the battlefield.

If you are pitted against Seymour without the power of an Aeon, use Magic
Break to reduce his Level 2 and Level 3 Abilities. Haste should still be
up and Seymour only has 6,000 Health.

After the battle, head out the WEST DOOR to the Cloister of Trials. The Trials
will begin as you cross the bridge and proceed down the ramp.

[MQ14D] [MACALANIA TEMPLE - CLOISTER OF TRIALS]

Objectives will be identified in Tiers. Once you have performed a task in the
Cloister of Trials, a new tier will begin in this Guide. This has been done to
assist in maneuvering through the Guide.

[T1]    Remove the Glyph Sphere from the MIDDLE COLUMN and place it into the
       pedestal.

[T2]    Push the pedestal to the EAST, then to the NORTH.

[T3]    Remove the Glyph Sphere from the pedestal on the LOWER LEVEL and place

[T4]    Remove the Macalania Sphere that just appeared on the UPPER LEVEL and
place it into the pedestal on the LOWER LEVEL. Push the pedestal to
       the RIGHT.

[T5]    Remove the Macalania Sphere from the recess to the RIGHT of the EASTERN
COLUMN on the UPPER LEVEL. Go to the LOWER LEVEL and place it into the
       WESTERN COLUMN.

[T6]    Remove the Macalania Sphere by the RAMP on the UPPER LEVEL and place
       it into the MIDDLE COLUMN.

[T7]    Reset the pedestal using the Glyph on the TOP LEVEL, then push it down
to the UPPER LEVEL. Step on the Glyph on the UPPER LEVEL to reset the
       pedestal.

[T8]    Remove the Macalania Sphere from the MIDDLE COLUMN on the UPPER LEVEL
and place it into the recess to the RIGHT of the EASTERN COLUMN.

[T9]    Push the pedestal to the RIGHT, then remove the Macalania Sphere from

The Guadians will regularly remove Darkness, but just keep adding it back
on. Magic Break or NulFrost/NulShock will help keep the Guadians a bit
more docile, just don't let them die or they will add Protect and Shell
   on the Wendigo.

Before you do anything, you need to be informed on the use of the Airship.
Rikku and Tidus both have a Trigger Command that will pull the Airship
away from Evrae, or move it nearby. However, the Airship won't move until
   Cid's next turn.

Start the battle with a Dark Attack and Power Break on Evrae, then Hastega
and Regen on the Party. Once Evrae performs a massive inhale, look at the
top-right bar to determine if Cid's turn is before Evrae's. If it is, pull
the Airship back to avoid Poison Breath. If not, soak the Poison Breath.
Don't use Delay Attack or Slow as Evrae will retaliate with Haste.

If avoiding Poison Breath just isn't an option, restore as much Health as
possible, then toss an Al Bhed Potion to remove the Poison debuff. You may
also benefit from having two Characters with the 'Use' Command.

When approaching this battle at a distance, your most influential Ally will

Magic. While Magic is halved against Evrae, it will still hit pretty hard.

Objectives will be identified in Tiers. Once you have performed a task in the
Cloister of Trials, a new tier will begin in this Guide. This has been done to
assist in maneuvering through the Guide.

Bevelle Temple has a large handful of Switch Glyphs. Once your platform passes
over a Switch Glyph, press the X Button to adjust your direction. If you don't
press the X Button, your platform will travel in a preset direction.

[T1]   Push the pedestal towards the nearby Chests. You'll drop to CORRIDOR 1.

[T2]   Skip the FIRST Switch Glyph, adjusting your platform to the LEFT at
the SECOND Switch Glyph. Remove the Bevelle Sphere and place it into
      the pedestal.

[T3]   Return into CORRIDOR 1 and proceed to the next Switch Glyph, then turn
your platform SOUTH. Continue to the next Switch Glyph and adjust your
      platform to the LEFT.

[T4]   Place a Bevelle Sphere into the recess, then move the pedestal back into
      CORRIDOR 1.

[T5]   Proceed through CORRIDOR 1 and do not activate any Switch Glyphs. Once
your platform resets, proceed to the FIRST Switch Glyph and adjust EAST
into CORRIDOR 2. This will take you to another Switch Glyph.

[T6]   Continue NORTH through CORRIDOR 2 until you reach a Bevelle Sphere. Put
it into the pedestal and return to CORRIDOR 2.

[T7]   Continue to the Switch Glyph and adjust your platform to the RIGHT into
CORRIDOR 3. Go to the THIRD Switch Glyph and adjust your platform to
      the RIGHT.

[T8]   Remove one of the Bevelle Spheres and place it into the recess on your
      LEFT.

[T9]   Return into CORRIDOR 3 (South) and proceed until you drop off the ledge.
Point your platform back through CORRIDOR 3 to the FIRST Switch Glyph
and adjust your platform to the RIGHT.

[T10]  Return into CORRIDOR 3 (North) and adjust yourself to the RIGHT at the
      next Switch Glyph.

[T11]  Swap the Glyph Sphere with your Bevelle Sphere.

[T12]  Return into CORRIDOR 3. Once you are in the MAIN CORRIDOR, proceed to
the next Switch Glyph and adjust your platform to the RIGHT.

[T13]  Grab the Glyph Sphere and place it into the recess across the bridge to
      obtain the Destruction Sphere.

[T14]  Place the Destruction Sphere into the PEDESTAL.

[T15]  Repeat [T9] - [T10]

[T15]  Swap the Destruction Sphere with the Bevelle Sphere, then return into
      CORRIDOR 3.

[T16]  Continue to the Switch Glyph by the ledge and adjust your platform to
the RIGHT. Place the Bevelle Sphere into the pedestal, then return into
      CORRIDOR 3.

[T18]  Drop off the ledge and point your platform back through CORRIDOR 3. Go
to the FIRST Switch Glyph and adjust your platform to the RIGHT. Push
your platform SOUTH into CORRIDOR 4.

[T19]  Remove a Bevelle Sphere and place it into the recess at the TOP. Open
the Chest to your RIGHT to obtain an HP Sphere.

[T20]  Step on the Glyph to reset the pedestal and push it to the LEFT. Open

whole Party with weaker Level 1 Magic.

Eventually, Seymour will start casting Break instead of Magic. This will
inflict instant Petrification on one of your Allies, including all their
Buffs (like Shell/Haste) Remove this with a Soft immediately or the
Mortibody will use Shattering Claw, breaking your Ally into pieces. Once
this happens, your Ally will be out for the remainder of the battle.

Once Seymour is low on Health, he will toss Break and begin using Flare.
This will hit a single target for about 2,500 Damage. The Mortibody will
toss Shattering Claw and begin restoring Seymour's Health with Cura. You
may put Reflect up on Seymour to reflect Cura onto one of your Allies, but
then Lulu won't be able to use her Black Magic.

Before you proceed through to Mt. Gagazet, you might want to acquire the
Celestial Mirror and Tidus's Celestial Weapon.

 O - CELESTIAL MIRROR / CELESTIAL WEAPONS - -
 |
Each Character in the Game has their "Ultimate Weapon", but you will need
the Celestial Mirror to obtain them. To acquire the Celestial Mirror,
proceed to the SOUTH-WEST REGION of the Calm Lands with a Chocobo. There's
a Chocobo Feather directly EAST of Macalania Woods.

Head around the WEST SIDE of the Temple and inspect the Sphere next to the
Chocobo, then mount up on the Chocobo on the EAST SIDE to begin.

Winning won't be as difficult as Catcher Chocobo. You don't have to avoid
a bunch of pesky Seagulls. Open the Chests and avoid the Poles to increase
your reward, but you must reach the middle platform at the bottom before
   the Champion.

Beating the Champion will reward you with a Cloudy Mirror. Go back to the
Calm Lands and return to Macalania Woods. Continue WEST, then SOUTH
towards the Thunder Plains and talk to "Mom" near the Save Sphere. She'll
tell you her Husband and Son are missing.

Head EAST back to the Crossroads, then NORTH to the Campsite and talk to
the Father. Send him back to his Wife, then return to "Mom" and talk to the
two of them repeatedly until they mention their Son.

Go up the CLOUDY PATH to the LEFT until you reach Central Macalania, then
proceed NORTH-WEST at the intersection. If it's blocked, then return to

Start the battle by hitting Defender X with Darkness, then putting Hastega,
Protect and Regen up on the Party. Defender X hits for about 2,000+ Damage
and Counter-Attacks with Blast Punch for 50% of your Health. Blast Punch
won't be affected by Darkness, but his regular attacks will be.

You'll need to repeatedly use Dark Buster as Dark Attack will have limited
success. Since Defender X is also Armored, you will want to hit him with
Armor Break so your Non-Piercing Attacks aren't halved.

As long as you are repeatedly reapplying Dark Buster, Defender X will only
be able to land a hit on Haymaker, which will instant KO a single Ally.
Once Defender X has dropped below 10,000 Health, it will use Mighty Guard,
which applies Protect, Shell and NulAll. This can be Dispelled.

   (YENKE)
(HP): Calculated         (ST): Lv. 3 Key Sphere   (BR): N/A

The difficulty of this battle depends on Kimahri's Strength, Magic, Health
and Agility. Start the battle with Haste, Protect and/or Regen. If you
don't have these Abilities, don't worry about it.

You won't be able to attack Biran or Yenke when they are standing next to
one-another, as Biran will Guard against Yenke and vice-versa. Your cue to
attack will be when one of them uses Bulldoze.

Biran and Yenke have a large handful of abilities you can acquire using
Lancet. This is incredibly useful if you missed some previous Fiends'
   Abilities.

When Biran and Yenke are next to one-another, you will need to use Magic
or Overdrives such as Aqua Breath and Fire Breath.

When Biran is low on Health, he will throw up Mighty Guard (Protect, Shell,
NulAll). Biran and Yenke should ONLY be defeated when both of them are low
on Health. Defeating Yenke before Biran will cause Biran to use Berserk,
increasing his Attack Power. Vice-versa, Yenke will use Haste, increasing
   his Attack Speed.

   (SEYMOUR FLUX)
   (HP): 70,000 (3,500)     (ST): Elixir             (BR): N/A

Seymour will immediately hit a single target in your Party with Lance of
Atrophy. This will inflict them with Zombie, which Mortiorchis will then
respond with Full-Life. You need to use Holy Water before this happens or
that Ally will be KO'd by Full-Life.

Kimahri and Yuna have the Trigger Command to 'Talk' to Seymour. You're
still able to summon Aeons, but Seymour will Banish them after they have
completed their turn. Summon them ONLY to use an Overdrive.

Seymour will occasionally cast Protect and Reflect on himself. He'll also
perform a complete Dispel on your Party. Both Reflect and Protect can be
Dispelled, in which he will then respond by casting Flare on himself. Due
to Seymour's wild habit of Dispelling your Party, don't spend too much
time buffing your Party. Hastega and Holy Waters are all you need.

Your most influential Ability is Bio because you want to take Seymour down
before he is able to use Total Annihilation. If you can't beat him before
he uses Total Annihilation, put up Shell or Mighty Guard pronto. This will
inflict over 4000+ Damage on your entire Party.

   (SANCTUARY KEEPER)
(HP): 40,000 (6,400)     (ST): Turbo Ether        (BR): N/A

The Sanctuary Keeper will start with Photon Wings, inflicting a handful of
Status Ailments onto the Party, including Curse. Curse can be Dispelled,
but the remaining Debuffs will need a Remedy and/or Esuna.

If you aren't able to withstand Photon Wings, you might be better off in
using an Aeon. The Keeper is immune to Delay, but you can Summon Shiva and
use Heavenly Strike repeatedly to the same affect. Once Shiva is low on
Health, be sure to cast Blizzara on her.

Cast Reflect on the Keeper before you bring out an Aeon, or make sure Shiva
has this Ability. Once the Keeper tosses Reflect on Shiva, you will need to
dismiss her, unless she has Dispel. This is due to the Keeper's habit of
using Curaga to repeatedly restore 9,999 Health, as well as Protect and
   Regen.

If you aren't using an Aeon, toss Bio and Reflect up on the Keeper, then
use Auron's Breaks. Putting Hastega up on your Party will help with the
Tail Sweeps. Do NOT use Slow on the Keeper because it will retaliate with
Haste and be make sure to cast Dispel when the Keeper puts Reflect up on

   (SPECTRAL KEEPER)
   (HP): 52,000 (9,999)     (ST): Ether              (BR): N/A
                                  Turbo Ether

This Boss poses a problem because it will perform a Counter Attack on each
turn. You can't Summon Aeons because, much like Seymour, the Spectral
Keeper will kill it immediately. Only Summon an Aeon with a maxed-out
  Overdrive.

When the battle begins, your Allies will be situated side-by-side directly
in front of the Spectral Keeper. Do not hit the Spectral Keeper just yet.
Instead, move your Allies using the Trigger Commands so that there is an
EMPTY GLYPH situated on both sides of EACH MEMBER in your Party.

The Spectral Keeper will use Berserk Tail on one of your Allies regularly
which needs to be Dispelled with Esuna. Once a member in your Party is
Berserk, they will be on Auto-Attack Mode. This is bad because of the
  Spectral Keeper's powerful Counter Attacks.

Eventually, the Spectral Keeper will activate three Glyphs to detonate on
it's next turn. The Glyph will instantly kill that member in your Party, so
  move your Allies accordingly.

Most importantly, put up Protect and Hastega if you believe you can keep up
with the use of Esuna. If your Ally with Esuna is hit with Berserk Tail,
toss a Remedy or kill him/her and use a Phoenix Down. You can use Mental
Break to help with Lulu's Level 3 Magic, but the Keeper is Immune to the
  rest of them.

   (YUNALESCA)
(HP): 24,000 (10,000)    (ST): Stamina Tablet     (BR): N/A
                                  Farplane Wind

While there are a handful of tactics that would work against Yunalesca, it
also depends on whether or not you pre-planned this battle. Since the large
majority of newcomers probably didn't do any pre-planning, I'll just cover
  the basics.

The ONLY buff you should put up on your Party is Reflect. You won't be able
to Haste, Protect, Shell, Regen, NullAll, Etc. as Yunalesca's NORMAL ATTACK
will Dispel all of that. Reflect is not affected by her Dispel.

Additionally, when you hit with MELEE, Yunalesca will Counter with Blind.
If you hit with MAGIC, Yunalesca will Counter with Silence. You don't have
to worry about this while Reflect is up on your Party.

  (PHASE TWO)
  (HP): 48,000 (10,000)

Yunalesca will start Phase Two with Hellbiter, which will inflict Zombie on
the Party. Clear this with Holy Water and if Reflect is active, top your
Health up with Items. You need to do this before she repeats Hellbiter.

Remove ANY Accessories that add a Zombie Ward because you will need Zombie
for Phase Three. When she repeats her use of Hellbiter, do NOT Dispel it.

Yunalesca will primarily attack with Regen, Cura and Curaga while in Phase
Two. Since Reflect is up on your Party, you will need to cast Dispel on her
  when she uses Regen.

Save Aeon and Party Overdrives until Phase Three!

  (PHASE THREE)
  (HP): 60,000 (10,000)

Yunalesca will begin Phase Three with Mega-Death which is an INSTANT KO to
anyone in your Party who is not inflicted with Zombie. Mind Blast is
another addition to her barrage of attacks which adds Confuse and Curse to
  your Party.

Unless you have a Deathproof Accessory, don't remove Zombie on the Party.
If you need to restore your Health, remove Zombie from TWO ALLIES to do it,
then wait for Hellbiter. If Hellbiter has already been used, wait for Mega-
  Death before removing Zombie.

You may want to toss a Megalixir if you didn't return to the Save Sphere
  prior to the battle.

Start the battle with Hastega and put Protect up on your Party. You need to
do this before the Ultima Weapon is able to use Core Energy, which hits a
single target in your Party for a massive amount of damage.

Ultima Weapon will toss a handful of Ailments on a single target in your
Party, including Sleep, Break, Confuse, Darkness and Silence. You can put
up Reflect or just use Esuna/Remedy.

If you put Reflect up, you don't need to worry about Holy, which will deal
about 9,000+ Damage to a single target in your Party. This amount is also
reduced if Shell is up. Shimmering Rain is the only Party-wide attack the
Ultima Weapon has and it deals about 2,000 Damage.

Be sure to Steal and/or Bribe the Ultima Weapon for Doors to Tomorrow, used

This battle is identical to the Ultima Weapon, but Omega will use Ultima,
and Nova, which Kimahri should use Lancet on. Omega also has more Strength
than the Ultima Weapon, which Auron cannot Break.

Unlike the previous installment of the Game, Omega will now ABSORB your
Elemental-based Magic. Ultima or Flare are the ONLY two Abilities you can
use with Lulu, so Doublecasting will help with this immensely.

Swap to a Stoneproof Accessory, then put up Hastega, Protect, Shell and
Regen. Do not use Reflect if you don't have the appropriate Items to
restore your Health. Reflect will also make dealing with Ultima and Nova a
  hassle, just Remedy/Esuna the Ailments.

Items such as Three Stars will help immensely if you are having problems
with Mana. You may also use Osmose to regain your MP if need-be. Put on any
Accessories with Break HP Limit and Break Damage Limit. While it isn't
absolutely necessary, you will need 9,999 Health and 9,999 Damage to be
able to QUICKLY subdue Omega Weapon. If you aren't at these Stats yet,
Customize yourself some Weapons with Double AP and Overdrive -> AP and

You should not attempt this battle without an Accessory that has Stone

This is another Airship Battle, much like Evrae, you will be able to use a
Trigger Command with Tidus and Rikku to control the Airship.

Sin will remain motionless while you battle him at a distance. You can
repeatedly tap Triangle and Sin won't even budge. Occasionally it will send
it's Fin over the Party, taking off a bit of Health.

When you move the Airship towards Sin, you won't be able to throw up Buffs
like Haste, Protect, Regen, Etc. These will need to be Customized onto your
Accessories or Sin will just Negate them. When it begins to charge up
Gravija, pull the Airship back or just Heal through it.

While Gravija won't be able to kill you, Sin's regular attack will hit the
whole Party for 1,000+ Health. You can hit Sin with a Full Break to speed
  up the process.

Once you beat up the Left Fin, the Airship will pull around to the Right

You'll probably defeat Sinspawn Genais before he lands an attack on your
Party. You won't be able to use Buffs due to Sin's Negation, so make sure
the Buffs you want are Customized to your Accessory.

Sinspawn Genais uses Venom to Poison a single target in your Party, Level 3
Waterga and an attack called Thrashing which hits the whole Party. Once you
have dealt about 50% to it's Health, it will withdrawal from battle and
  begin casting Cura.

You'll be able to attack the Core while Genais is regenerating. The Core
will also begin charging Gravija, which is basically a Level 2 Demi. Summon
an Aeon to absorb Gravija. You need to destroy the Core before Genais has

What, you thought Sin would be a breeze? Yeah right. You need to defeat Sin
at a whopping 140,000 Health before it's Overdrive is maxed out or it
will use Giga-Graviton to destroy the Party.

Sin's Overdrive is basically set to Ally, which means it will begin to
  charge on each turn.

You need to deal as much damage as possible while at a distance as Sin will
not jump into the battle until it has pulled you in three times. Attach an
Accessory to protect you from Confuse and Petrify before this happens or
Sin will begin to charge it's Overdrive at a much more rapid pace.

Once Sin has initiated the third pull, cast Hastega on the Party, hit Sin

   (SEYMOUR OMNIS)
(HP): 80,000 (15,000)    (ST): Shining Gem
                                  Supreme Gem

Nobody has a Trigger Command usable against Seymour. You likely won't need
  it.

Seymour will begin to use Magic on 4 TARGETS. You'll be able to limit the
amount of Damage by using your Null Ability. This Magic is based on the
  Mortiphasm pointing at Seymour.

      ONE ELEMENT
Weak Level 2 Spell, Seymour takes 50% LESS Damage from that Element.

      TWO ELEMENTS
Strong Level 2 Spell, Seymour will be immune to that Element.

      THREE ELEMENTS
Weak Level 3 Spell, Seymour will Absorb that Element.

      FOUR ELEMENTS
Strong Level 4 Spell, Seymour will Absorb that Element. Weak against
      opposing Element.

The Element depends on which color is pointing towards Seymour. If it's Red,
Seymour will use Fire. Green is Lightning, Blue is Water, Purple is Ice.
Yes, I had to check to see if I had gone Color Blind.

Once Seymour is low on Health, he will cast Dispel on the Party and begin
to emit a RED AURA. On his next turn, Seymour will cast Ultima. Summon an
Aeon to absorb the Ultima if need-be because he will no longer Banish it.

You also won't be able to attack the Mortiphasm like you could on Gagazet
and the Highbridge. It won't absorb Health from Seymour, it will just
  change his vulnerabilities.
