DARK ORCHID #4--------------------------------------------------------
Return to the KYOTO City(the large city with 5 districts) in the Province
of KIYOU.
Stay at the Inn and you'll have a dream of KINU.
Head North of KYOTO to the boarder Village of KURAMA.
Cross through to the Eastern side of the Province of OUMI.
Walk North to KAMEOKA Village.
Continue North through the Province. You'll come across a strange looking
tree on a patch of desert surrounded by regular trees, -this is a Ninja
Hideout.
Northeast from here is MAIZURU Village.
Far to the East and then North from MAIZURU is a TENGU RETREAT that
gives you IBUKI, -a more powerful Heal Spell.
Travel Southwest from MAIZURU across the bridges to AYABI Vilage.
Next to AYABI is a Cave(Mount OOE). Inside you'll find an underground
abandoned Village. Enter the large building(HOUSUIIN). You'll meet a
young girl named KINU and her dog SHIRO.
KINU posses magic so powerful that she cannot control it, and therefore
cannot leave HOUSIIN. She asks you to bring her the JUNKETSU NO
KUSARI(Purity Chain) from the Mount HIE Shrine.
Far South of Mount OOE is a Cave that is a TENGU RETREAT. Here you'll
receive the GEKKOU Spell, -which lowers the Attack of a group of enemies.
Return to the Province of KIYOU. Visit the Mount HIE Shrine, which is
East of KYOTO, -the large city with 4 districts and Castle. Speak to the
Monk in the top building. He'll give you the PURITY CHAIN.
Exit and SHIRO will meet you with a message from KINU. SHIRO then joins
your party.
Go back to the underground Village where you met KINU. A demon is
guarding the entrance to HOUSIIN.
BOSS: NANASHI NO JUUHACHIBAN
I was on Level 38 with the best equipment when I defeated NANASHI NO
JUUHACHIBAN.
Enter HOUSIIN and speak to KINU. She'll equip the PURITY CHAIN and join
your party.
Now travel North of MAIZURU to a circle of pillars(AMA NO HASHIDATE).
Walk into the center of the circle. KINU will warp you to the Province
of INABA.
Walk South to TOUTORI Village.
Northeast from TOUTORI, around the river is a TENGU RETREAT where you'll
recieve YADORIGI, -which decreases an enemy's MP.
Head directly Southeast from TOUTORI across to the opposite side of the
Province, to WAKASA Village. Enter the Cave in the Village and speak to
the Priest who will give you the SHI SHIN(Four Gods) KEY.
Walk North to the boarder Village of YAKONO. Now go Northwest from YAKONO
to the Cave of SEIRIYUU.
Inside, use the FOUR GODS KEY on the colored buttons on the Spider Panels
to unlock the barriers. Make your way up through the Cave to the top
where you'll find a chest containing the AOI NO KOTSU TSUBO(Blue Urn).
Now head to the Southern Valley of the Province. On the left side is a
Ninja Hideout, on the right is the Cave of SUZAKU. Once again, use the
FOUR GODS KEY on the colored buttons of the Spider Panels to unlock the
barriers and make your way through to the top where you'll find a chest
containing the RED URN.
On the West side of the Province, directly South of the first
Village(TOUTORI), is the Cave of BIYAUKO. Here you'll find the WHITE URN.
There is an alternate exit in this dungeon that leads to a valley with a
TENGU RETREAT where you'll get the SHIKIGAMI Spell, -which summons the
demon SHIKIGAMI to fight along side you.
At the Northeast corner of the Province is TOYOOKA Village.
Northwest from TOYOOKA is the Cave of GENBU. Here you'll find the
BLACK URN. Also, there is another RED CHEST in this Cave with the same
99 fights plus Boss. You're still not ready to beat it yet, so just
remember it for later.
Return to TOYOOKA and match the colored URNS to each of the four
pillars of the altar. You now have a vehicle capable of crossing the
sand whirlpools.
Now go to the center of the Province and enter the SAIJIN Castle.
Make your way up to the top floor and around the locked room to a
pitfall that will drop you next to the two previously unreachable
chests. The chest on the left contains the SUNA(Sand) KEY.
Take the staircase up to the locked room and use the SAND KEY on the
door. Jump down the quicksand pit.
In the basement, there is a staircase at the bottom area that leads up
to several chests. To the upper right from where you landed leads to
the Boss.
BOSS: MADAME BARBARA and DUKE PEPE
Only attack MADAME BARBARA.
You'll recieve the DAIREIIN ONNAHIKO sword and learn the ONNAHIKO GIRI
Technique, -which performs a powerful attack to an enemy, but also hurts
MANJI.
Leave and head West to the previously unreachable Village of SHIKANO.
South of SHIKANO is a TENGU RETREAT where you'll receive SUIHOU, -which
decreases an enemy's MP.
Speak to the Woman guarding the entrance to the first building in
SHIKANO. Inside, speak to the Old Man in the upper left corner. You'll
get disguises and he'll bring you to UMASHIKANO Castle.
Walk upstairs. After watching the MANTO 2 trailor, walk up around and
search the chest.
BOSS: MANTO 2
Run away from the fight. MANTO will sever himself from the machine
coming to chase you. Now fight him. After he's defeated search to chest
to obtain the BAKKA(Idiot) KEY. Use the BAKKA KEY on the locked door
and go up to the next floor.
BOSS: Super MANTO
Run away from the fight. Fight him the second time. After he's been
defeated again, go up to the top of the Castle. After MANTO's finished
humiliating himself, go back down to the first floor where a man will
meet you and bring you to the passage leading to the Province of IZUMO.
South is the border Village of SANTOKO.
Walk West across the bridge and then North to MATSU Village. You'll see
dozens of Bear Mechs come out of a warehouse.
West from MATSU is TAMATSUKUKI Village. If you look through the scope
at the top of the tower, you'll see the next two DARK ORCHIDS on the
Northern island.
Travel South to SHITABURURE Village.
West of SHITABURURE is a TENGU RETREAT that gives you the JIGOKU Spell,
-which confuses a group of enemies and caues them to attack themselves.
East of SHITABURURE is a Cave(KOUJINDANI Tomb). At the bottom of the
Tomb you'll find a chest containg the OIKAZE Spell, -which speeds up
the MP recovery of an ally. Another chest contains the UMEKOKESHI.
Use the UMEKOKESHI on the locked doorin the tower in TAMATSUKUKI
Village.
At the Southwest corner of the Province is the ENKIRI Cave. Inside
you'll lose SHIRO. Towards the end of the Cave you'll meet NIKUSUKE.
After he leaves, open the chest to get SHIRO's KUBIWA(Collar). Continue
through to the Province of IWAMI.
Nearby is the Village of INOME.
Follow the path Southwest to the INUGAMI Shrine(next to a cave).
Avoid the conveyor belt and walk along the side up to enter the Shrine.
Inside, hit the switch at the base of the red statue on the left to
reveal a staircase.
Downstairs you'll confront NIKUSUKE again, this time with SHIRO. Use
SHIRO's Collar on SHIRO. He'll turn on NIKUSUKE and destroy the Mechs.
Walk left, grab the chests and search the last remaining Mech(Clay
Robot).
Use the Mech to walk around to the upper left corner of the floor. Step
onto the large platform to be taken to the exit.
Northeast of the Shrine is a Ninja Hideout.
Return to the Province of IZUMO inside the Mech, walking through ENKIRI
Cave.
East and North at the center of the Province is another Ninja Hideout.
Further East from here is the Mount KAHIKO Cave. Inside, use the Mech
to reach a chest on a platform which contains the KUNUHIKI NO YUMITSUNA.
*If you're too weak to make to the chest, you can return later, but make
sure you don't forget because you'll need this item.
Use the Mech to walk across the lava Northwest of SHITABURURE to a
Cave(SOUSA VENT). Cross through to the Northern half of the Province of
IWAMI.
Next to the SOUSA VENT is HASUMI Village. North is a TENGU RETREAT that
gives you SHOUWA, -a powerful Heal Spell.
West across a bridge is HAMADA Village.
Far to the South of HAMADA, at the middle of the Eastern side of the
Province is a TENGAU RETREAT that gives you KAMIKAZE, an attack Spell
that also damages the user.
Southwest from HAMADA is the Mount SAHIME Cave. Like the Mount KAHIKO
Cave, use the Mech to reach a chest containing the KUNIHIKI NO NAGATSUNA.
Also like Mount SAHIME, you can come here later if you're too weak.
Another chest in this Cave has the TORAOU Spell, which turns an ally
into a Tiger.
South of ount SAHIME is a TENGU RETREAT that KABUKI has already raided.
West of Mount SAHIME is the City of TSUWANO. Speak to the King in the
Castle. NIKUSUKE will appear and turn everyone into pigs.
Northwest of TSUWANO is a hidden TENGU RETREAT. Walk inbetween the two
rocks on the shore. Here you can reduce the cost of any Spell by 1 MP.
To the South of TSUWANO is AHIMOTO Village, which is divided by a
barrier. The bottom building is an Inn where you can rest for 1 Yen.
The upper building is an equipment shop. Be careful if you buy the
weapon for GOKURAKU, -mine broke after awhile. Keep your old weapon
handy just in case.
Enter the TASOGARE Cave above ASHIMOTO Village.
This Cave has several entrances/exits. Here is a Map-

When you enter the ASHIMOTO Village Inn from the right side, he'll
charge you 999 Yen.
In the 'C' Caves, look for the staircase next to a sign. This leads to
the Southern exit near MUIKAICHI Village. Also, on the floor this
staircase leads to is another 100 fight RED CHEST.
An ASHIMOTO brother runs the Inn of MUIKAICHI, he charges 9,999 Yen.
All the way South from MUIKAICHI and then East is ANKOKU Castle.
Make your way through ANKOKU Castle to a room with several holes in
the floor. Fall down the bottom middle hole to reach NIKUSUKE. He'll
turn you into pigs. Then KABUKI appears, rescues you and joins your
party.
BOSS: NIKUSUKE
Even if you don't think you're powerful enough to storm the Castle,
you should try to make it to NIKUSUKE just to get KABUKI on your team.
Use KABUKI's HYOURYUU(strong Ice attack) Spell on NIKUSUKE, it'll take
away 200 to 300 HP. Bring a bunch of MP Heals(YOUROUGAN), you can buy
them for 400 Yen at the Item Shop in WAKASA Village in the Province of
INABA(desert where you fought MADAME BARABARA).
After you've defeated NIKUSUKE, you'll get the IROHAGUU SHIZUKA Sword
and learn the SHIZUKAMIDARE GIRI Technique, -which damages an enemy
and then MANJI back and forth until one of you is dead.
Return to MATSUE Village(where the Bear Mechs left the warehouse) in
the Province Of IZUMO.
Near the shore, the MOMOCHI SANDAYUU girls have made a grave for SHIRO.
Use SHIRO's COLLAR on the Grave. You'll receive the SOUREI SUZU(Bell).
Walk up to the two pillars on the shore. GOKURAKU will use the KUNUHIKI
NO YUMITSUNA and KUNIHIKI NO NAGATSUNA(items from the lava Caves) to
pull the Northern island down to the mainland.
Walk North to the YOMOTSUDAIRA Cave. When you come to a pier on an
underground lake, use the SOUREI BELL at the edge and a boat will come
to take you across to the other side.
Continue through to an underground Village. Speak a Man in the first
building to Rest. Head up to the top of the Village and walk up the
stairs to the ground level. Here you'll face several Bosses, one after
another, as you progress up the stairs.
BOSS: DEATH SHOGUN
BOSS: Princess HANAGURI
BOSS: MADAME BARBARA
BOSS: NIKUSUKE
Inside the building(Grand IZUMO Shrine) at the top of the stairs you'll
encounter the last Boss.
BOSS: KING GOZUNO and KING MEZUNO
Use the SOUREI Bell on both GOZUNO and MEZUNO as soon as possible,
before they have a chance to mute anyone. They are weak to magic
attacks,so use KABUKI's HYOURYUU(Ice attack) and MANJI's KATEN(Fire
attack) Spells.
After you've defeated GOZUNO and MEZUNO, walk downstairs and destroy
each of the DARK ORCHIDS.
Northwest of the Grand IZUMO Shrine is a TENGU RETREAT that gives you
the SANKAKU Spell, -which summons three Devils to attack your enemies.
