DARK ORCHID #3--------------------------------------------------------
After dispatching the DARK ORCHID, return to IGA(Ninja Village with
the Old Man you rescued) and walk North to the boarder Village of
YAMASHIRO, which had been previously blocked by Vines.
Cross through to the Province of KIYOU.
There is a TENGU RETREAT behind some mountains to the upper right
of where you emerge, but you'll have to walk all the way around
the map to get to it. There you'll recieve RAIDEN, -a more powerful
Lightning Attack that hits one enemies several times.
At the center off the Province is a clearing that you can walk into
to find a secret Ninja Hideout(SHINOBI NO SATO).
At the North East corner is the Village of FUJIWARA that leads back to
the first Province now that the vines are gone.
West of FUJIWARA is another Ninja Hideout.
North of FUJIWARA you'll find IBUSA Village. Walk through IBUSA to a
previously unreachable TENBU RETREAT in the first Province(HIDA), where
you'll get the NOWAKE, -a Wind Attack Spell that damages one group of
enemies.
North of IBUSA is OUSAKA Village which leads to the next Province.
Head West of IBUSA to SHIGARASA Village. Talk to the man guarding
the door to the large house, answer YES and enter. Speak to the
Racoon Man, answer YES and you'll recieve 10,000 Yen.
To the South is the Mount HIE Shrine.
West of the Shrine is the large walled City of KYOTO that is divided
into 5 districts.
The bottom right has Houses.
The bottom left has Shops.
The top left has Shrines.
The top right has Slums.
The top middle is the Castle.
*Enter the Shops district and go to the Upper Leftmost Shop. Buy the
item(HYAKUNENINJIN) that costs 10,000 Yen. Return to the Racoon Man
in SHIGARASA. He'll give you the NOKORIBI Spell, -a Fire Attack Spell
that damages all enemies.
Return to KYOTO, enter the Castle and take either staircase on the far
right side. Walk out onto the ledge and speak to the person standing
there(Princess KATSURA).
Go back downstairs and take the staircase on the left side back up.
Search the Flower Bed to find the HOUKO KEY(Treasure Key).
Go back downstairs to the entrance, walk left along the bottom of
the Castle and find the left most staircase. Go up and use the
TREASURE KEY to unlock the door. Open the chests. One of the items is
the NIEUSANKIYOKASHIYO(Mountain Gate Pass).
Leave and go to OUSAKA Village in the North East and cross through
to the Province of OUMI.
Walk North West to the Village of OOTSU next to the Lake Of Blood.
North East from here along the shore line is the HAKU SASHI Cave.
Inside, talk to the guards and make your way through until you find
a Boat.
Now that you can sail around the Lake Of Blood, go to the Western
shore where you'll find the SAIKIYOU Cave.
On the first level there is a red chest. Inside you'll face 99 battles,
then a powerful boss with 2500 HP. Leave it, you can't do it now, just
remember it for later.
On the second level there is a chest with the KONGOU Spell, -which
increases one party member's defense.
After you've grabbed all the chests(except for the red one), sail
North East to the large City of KANAZAWA at the upper corner of the
Province.
Store all of your equipment at the Storage Shop. Then speak to the
guy who's guarding the castle.
Go inside and upstairs to talk to the King. KABUKI will leave your
party. Exit, get your equipment back from the Storage Shop and leave
the city through the Southern bridge.
Its also a good idea right now to store any spells that you don't or
can't use.
You're now in the Province of ECHIZEN.
South on your left the small Village of KOHA.
Further South is FUKUI Village where the next DARK ORCHID is.
Walk East until the first rock falls from the sky. Then travel North,
meeting each of the Evil Priests along the way.
There is a Ninja Hideout in the clearing next to the third rock from
the sky. You can Rest and Save here.
North past the fourth rock is a TENGU RETREAT with the KIYOMIZU Spell,
-which nullifies damage from poisonous puddles.
North of the TENGU RETREAT, around the mountains is the Village of
OSHIMIZU.
North East of OSHIMIZU is the Cave of KANYA.
East and slightly South from the Cave of KANYA is another Cave(OOSE).
Travel through and you'll come out on an island. Enter the Cave on
your left(SENNEN).
This leads to the Mermaid Village(NINGIYOWORA).
Enter the large building and speak to the Queen. Talk to the man in
the cage. Search the Pink Flowers to the lower left of the Queen to
get the NINGIYOERI(Mermaid Lily). Leave and Exit.
East from here at the top right hand corner of the Province is a
TENGU RETREAT that will permanently eliminate 1 MP cost from any of
your spells. I use it on the WAKAKUSA, the Healing Spell.
North is the Village of WAJIMA. Go talk to the Man standing in front
of the of the doorway of the large building with pictures of mermaids
on it. After answering his question correctly, enter the building.
Watch the show, then walk onto the stage. Go right and talk to the
Blue Haired Mermaid. Then talk to the Man behind bars. Answer 'Yes'
and take them away.
Go back to the Mermaid Village and speak to the Queen.
GOKURAKU will join your party.
Return to the Inn in OHIMIZU and rest there. The next day you'll
find a green and red colored treasure chest near the inside doorway
that contains a better suit of armor for MANJI.
In the Equipment Shop in the same Village buy the piece of equipment
with two question marks as it's description. Have GOKURAKU equip it.
Now that there are two of you, go to the KANYA Cave which is North
East of OSHIMIZU. Inside, grab the chests and search the Blue Flowers
to get the YAMIBOTAN(Dark Peony).
Head South to the large rocks that fell from the sky to block your
passage East. GOKURAKU will destroy them.
East of where the Northern most rock was, there is a TENBU RETREAT
and a Blue Flower. Search the Blue Flower to recieve the
YUKIWARIZAKURA. The TENGU RETREAT gives you KATEN, -a powerful Fire
Attack that damages one enemy.
South East of where the Southern most rock was, there is the small
boarder Village of TATEYAMA.
Travel North East from here up to the large City of TOYAMA.
Enter the Castle and speak to the King. Exit through the South East
gate.
You are now in the Province Of ETSUCHIYUU.
South East is MIDAGAHARA Cave. Inside, take the first staircase down
and then go back up again. You'll arrive on a completely different
floor that is filled with evil MANJI clones.
When you find the next stairway on this floor, go down, up and down
again to a new floor.
The next set of stairs here leads to a Boss.
BOSS: Priest ISOBANA
After defeating the ISOBANA, proceed up the stairs to
exit.
To the far Northwest is a TENGU RETREAT with the NIGEMIZU Spell, which
lets you escape from fights.
To the far Southwest is another TENGU RETREAT with the HANAMICHI Spell,
-which decreases the number of enemy encounters.
East from here is JIGOKUDANI(Valley of Hell) Village. Search the Blue
Flowers in the upper section of the Village to recieve the CHIGURUMASOU.
Next to the flowers is a TENGU RETREAT. It appears that KABUKI has
already been here and taken the spell.
At the Southeast corner of the Province is a TENGU RETREAT that gives
you RIKIOU, which increases the Attack of one party member.
Near the center of the Province is BIJIYODAIRA Village.
East is a Ninja Hideout.
Next to the Ninja Hideout is a UNAZUKIBIU Cave.
Inside the Cave you'll find a ledge with two small pillars. There
is an invisible path across to the other side. If you fall down to
the floor below, the patern of the the invisible path is laid out
inbetween the poisonous puddles.
There is also another pit with an invisible path on this level as
well.

BOSS: Priest MAKIGAI
After defeating MAKIGAI, proceed through and exit.
You are now in the Province Of ECHIGO.
Directly below the Cave is the Village of SANJIYOU.
*There is a Merchant who randomly appears at the Inn here who
sells equipment for GOKURAKU.
At the Shop here, you can buy GOKURAKU:
Shoes -3200 ???
Shield -40 ???
At the upper right corner of the Village there are some Brown
Flowers. Search them to recieve the KOTSU NO KISOBAI.
At the center of the Village is a building with a unique sign.
There is music playing inside. This is the Mixing Shop.
Now, before you start mixing, here's a recap of each of the
different Flowers in case you either missed one or accidentally
discarded one.

Pick the first of three choices you are given. Now select each of the
flowers and hit button II to return to the previous menu. Now select
the second command.
You can now pick three of the five flowers to mix. Choose the bottom 3
flowers. You'll recieve the HANGOTAN.
Now go to the larger building with three entrances and enter the middle
section. Inside, use the HANGOTAN on the man in bed.
Leave the Village and head East to a Cave which is a TENGU RETREAT.
You'll get HITACHI, -which heals everyone in the Party.
Next go North to the coastal Village of NIIGATA. Speak to the man in
the leftmost house of the Village.
Exit and you'll find a small raft at the shore.
At the North East corner of the Map is an island with a TENGU RETREAT
that eliminates 1 MP cost from any Spell. I choose WAKAKUSA again,
which brings it's cost down to 1 MP.
On the tip of the north middle peninsula of the island is a TENGU
RETREAT which gives you the AKAKAGE Spell.
On the tip of north western peninsula of the island is a TENGU RETREAT
that gives you JINRAI, a powerful Lightning spell that damages all
enemies.
At the eastern side of the island is the small Village of AIKAWA. Speak
to the men guarding the entrance to the Cave.
Now leave and return to TOYAMA City in the previous Province(ETSUCHIYUU).
Enter the Castle and speak to the King.
You'll get trapped in a cage. After the MOMOCHI SANDAYUU girls have come
and rescued you, head downstairs to the dungeon to fight the imposter
King.
BOSS: Priest NAMAKO
After NAMAKO has been defeated, speak to the real King. Now head back
to AIKAWA Village in ECHIGO.
The guards will now let you enter the Mount DONDEN mine.
Talk to the guy next to the mine cars and choose the middle command.
After crashing the mine car, search the mine until you find GOKURAKU.
With GOKURAU in your Party, walk into the 3 ogres and GOKURAKU will
push them out of the way. The two chests they were guarding contain
equipment for GOKURAKU.
When you find the mine cart that hasn't been crashed, search it to
find the BAKUYAKU.
Now take the ladder on the first floor down to meet the UMIUSHI.
BOSS: Priest UMIUSHI.
Continue down to face the next Boss.
BOSS: Priest DOKUBARI
Use the BAKUYAKU on the rocks that block your path. At the endof the
bottom floor, you'll find a chest containing the SHIYOUMIYOU NO KIN.
Exit, return to SANJIYOU Village and speak to the man you healed earlier.
He'll use the SHIYOUMIYOU NO KIN to make DENJI JISHIKU(Denji Magnet).
Now go back to the previous Province(ETSUCHIYUU) again.
Use the DENJI MAGNET in the area with the dissapearing fortress. It'll
tell you how many paces you are from the real fortress.
Use the DENJI MAGNET at the bottom of the small mountain in the center
of the Province to reveal Castle GENMU.
Inside you'll come to rooms that are illusions. In each one, walk
Nortwest until you find a hut. Speak to the woman inside each hut and
she'll turn into a Boss.

BOSS: Priest MAKIGAI
BOSS: Priest UMIUSHI
BOSS: Priest DOKUBARI
When you reach the illusion of MANJI's hometown(SHIRAKAWA), go and
speak to his Mother at their house.
BOSS: Princess HAMAGURI
After defeating Princess HAMAGURI, continue up through the fortress
until you find two KABUKI's tied up. Speak to each one, and choose
the second command, then the first command after.
BOSS: Princess HAMAGURI Flower
After destroying Princess HAMAGURI's final form, take the SENKAIGUU
YOSHITSUNE Sword and return to FUKUI Village in the Province of ECHIZEN
and kill the DARK ORCHID.
After it's destroyed you'll learn the YOSHITSUNE GIRI Technique,
-a more powerful attack group that often misses.
