1. Story/About the Game:

Well, the story is about Pac-Man finding a lost fairy. And somehow, Pac-Man
must go through Pac-Land Super Mario style, in order to return the fairy to
it's home. There are no pellets to eat here, unlike other Pac-Man games.

2. Controls:

-On Ground-

Move Left: Press and hold the Left Button.
Move Right: Press and hold the Right Button.
Run: Double Press and hold the direction Button. Releasing it will make him
slow down.
Breaks: While moving or running, press the Direction Button the opposite of
where Pac-Man's moving or running.
Jump: Press the Jump Button.
High/Long Jumps: Press the Jump Button, while Running.

-The Spring Board-

(Note: This is very important, if you want to go any further.)

Using Spring Board: Just Run Jump on the Spring Board. Be sure you jump on the
edge or you won't be able to jump over pools.
Gliding: After you jump off the Spring Board, while you about to go down press
the Right Button Rapidly to slow down your decent.

3. Difference between US, Japanese, and Turbo Graphix 16 version:

Japanese

-Not much to explain. Except that Chomp-Chomp and Sour Puss (the dog and the
cat) isn't in this version.
-No Continuing. (I think)
-Game loops back to Trip 5 after Trip 8, but the timer goes faster. And all
fruits are now Melons.

U.S.

-All Pac-Man sprites look like the characters from the "Pac-Man" cartoon
series.
-Same as Japanese: No Continuing.
-No ghost show up in the Dungon Levels.
-Game loops back to Trip 5 after Trip 8, but the timer goes faster. And all
fruit are now Melons.

Turbo Graphix 16

-Same as Japanese version.
-Has cut scenes.
-No loop backs after beating Trip 8. Game ends and for each life you still
have, you get 100000 points. In other words, this version has an ending.
However, the game is now harder. Enemies are faster, all fariy sprites had been
changed, and all fruits are Melons.
-No Stage Select bonus.
-Unlimited Continues after name entry.

4. Characters:

Pac-Man: Ah, you control him.

-Friends-

Ms. Pac-Man/Pepper: Just shows up everytime you completed a trip.
Baby-Pac: Same as Ms. Pac-Man.
Fairy Queen: Shows up everytime you completed 3 rounds per trip. She will give
you the Magic Boots. (see Points and Items for how to use them.)

-Ghost Monsters-

These ghost have many attacks. They could fly plane, drop baby ghost, float in
the air with skirts, drive cars and buses, and jump on pogo sticks. The only
way to attack a ghost is to eat a Power Pellet.

Blinky: The Red Ghost
Pinky: The Pink Ghost
Inky: The Sky Blue Ghost
Clyde: The Orange Ghost
Sue: The Light Purple Ghost. This ghost follows you through out the game.
When time runs out, Sue will move fast and try to kill you.

5. Points and Items:

-Fruit-

Fruits come in Cherries, Strawberries, Oranges, Apples, and Melons. Eat a fruit
in a row without dying, will increase point value. However, the fifth will
reset back to it's original value.

Cherry:
First: 100 points
Second: 300 points
Third: 500 points
Fourth: 1000 points

Strawberry:
First: 300 points
Second: 500 points
Third: 1000 points
Fourth: 1500 points

Orange:
First: 500 points
Second: 1000 points
Third: 1500 points
Fourth: 2000 points

Apple:
First: 1000 points
Second: 1500 points
Third: 2000 points
Fourth: 2500 points

Melon (the ones that look like Hand Gernades.):
First: 1500 points
Second: 2000 points
Third: 2500 points
Fourth: 3000 points

-Items-

Power Pellets: You need to eat this in order to eat ghost. (See "Eating Ghost"
for scoring details.)

Pac-Man with an L: If you played "New Rally-X", then this thing gives you bonus
points for how much time you have left. Then, unlike the L-Flag in "New
Rally-X", this refills time. You only get this to show up, after eating
Sue as your "fifth" ghost. Not 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or even 6th. Only
fifth.

Pac-Man with an S: A 1-up, or Extra Life.

Balloons: These things are 100 points. Some are 7650 points.

-The "765" or Namco items-

These are very hidden items that I think appear when you make a flower bloom on
the ground. And they are worth 7650 points. But don't let it touch the ground,
or it's gone. Note: I think in the arcade version, its just the Galaxian and not
the other Namco characters.

(Note: "765" means Namco in Japanese.)

Galaxian: Yup, its the Blue, Yellow, and Red thing from "Galaxian" again. Don't
worry, it won't fire at you.

Pooka: Another Namco cameo. This time, from "Dig Dug".

Nyamco (Goro in the US version of "Mappy"): The boss cat from "Mappy".

Acha: Some Red Riding Hood Character from the game "Toy Pop".

-Water Castle Item-

Boats: Will make platforms. Also worth 500 points.

-Dungon Item-

Keys: You need these to open doors in the Dungon stages.

-Magic Boots-

You get these every third round per trip. This will let you jump in mid air as
many times you want.

-Hidden Stuff-

These are things that you can get by pushing a fire hydrent or a cactus.

Helmet: This will protect you from baby ghost. It will give you points for
every baby ghost you touch. You get 1000 points if you get one. And each baby
ghost you absorb will give you 300 points.

Invisibility: Makes you invisible to ghost, and you don't die by touching them.

-Eating Ghost-

Like any Pac-Man game, get a power pellet and you can eat ghost, including the
baby ghost that the ghost in the airplanes drop. It works the same way:

First Ghost: 200 points
Second Ghost: 400 points
Third Ghost: 800 points
Fourth Ghost: 1600 points
Fifth Ghost: 3200 points
Sixth and Beyond: 7650 points

-End of Round Jumping-

At the end of each round, you can still jump to get points. I'll try to explain
this:

When you're slightly off the ground: 10 points
When you're off the ground: 100 points
When you're in mid-jump: 300 points
When you're about to land: 1000 points
If you jump very perfectly: 7650 points

-Stage Select Bonus-

You usually get points at the end of a trip, if you use stage select. This
won't work on the Turbo Graphix 16 version. Only in the arcade version:

Starting at and beating Trip 2: 50000 points
Starting at and beating Trip 3: 100000 points
Starting at and beating Trip 4: 200000 points
Starting at and beating Trip 5: 300000 points

6. Stages/Walkthrough:

-Trip 1-
Fruit: Cherry

Round 1: Town

OK, the adventure begins. Begin by jumping on top of each fire hydrant you see.
This will make the cherries appear. After the third hydrant, the ghost will
appear driving cars. You can either jump over or on top of them. Keep running,
until you see a Power Pellet. Wait until you see three ghost cars and eat the
pellet. Hopefully, you can eat all five ghost. Be sure to eat Sue/Doris last to
get the Pac-Man L thing. Now you will be attack on the air. Ghost will fly in
their airplanes dropping baby ghost. On your way, is another Power Pellet. Wait
until you get four ghost on the screen and have at least two ghost drop baby
ghost. Now, eat the Power Pellet and eat the baby ghost first. Now go for the
rest, but be sure Sue/Doris is your "fifth" to get the Pac-Man L thing. I hope
you were successful in getting lots of points. Now after that, you should be at
the end of the round.

Round 2: Desert/Forest

The first part of this level is the desert. As so as you run, gather some
cherries. Soon, you will be attack by the skirt wearing ghost. Once you get
past this, you will enter the forest. You should see a floating cherry. Eat it
will make four other cherries appear. Get those as well. Now there are two ways
beating this: warp zone or just go through the forest.

Warp Zone (Note: Arcade only. If done on TG-16 version, you'll end up upside
down instead.): Well, assuming that you didn't die, push the third log until
you warp back to your house. You will earn 80000 points and start at Trip 3.

The Forest Way: So you decided to take the long way. Well, now you'll have to
avoid the pogo stick ghost. Don't worry, a Power Pellet is on the way. You
should know what to do with it. After finishing off the ghost, you should be
out of the forest and the end of the round.

Round 3: Mountains/Pool

OK, nothing much to say about this level. Your first obsticle is those logs and
cliffs. Oh yeah, watch out for airplane ghost. Anyway, do like you would do on
Super Mario and just try not to fall. On your way, is a log bridge. Be careful
and be sure you run and jump over that. You should reach the pool area. Push
back the first cactus to become invisible. On your way, should be a spring
board and a pool. Do what I mentioned earlier about the spring board and you
should be fine. After that, is a Power Pellet. Turn back a little to make all 5
ghost show up and let them have it. From there, you should clear the round and
get the magic shoes.

Round 4: Return

On your way back, be sure to push the second cactus back to make the balloons
show up. Also, don't forget the 1-up. After that, shouldn't be a problem.
Before you reach home, there should be a Power Pellet and ghost planes with
baby ghost. After that, you should complete Trip 1.

-Trip 2-
Fruit: Strawberry

Round 5: Town

At the start, push the second hydrant back to recieve a helmet. Now, be careful
of those ghost bus. You need to Run/Jump over them. Be sure to stand on top of
some hydrents for strawberries. Near the end should be a Power Pellet. Note: If
you didn't lose a life after getting the helmet, you'll still have it for the
next round. You lose it if you die, or clear a trip.

Round 6: Pool

The first part is the pogo ghost. A floating strawberry should appear there.
Next, is a pool. Followed by another pool. Then, you will be attacked by ghost
planes. Also, another floating strawberry is here. Then, a very long pool. This
jump is very long. After that, is a Power Pellet and some ghost planes. And
after that, is the end of the round.

Round 7: Water Castle

All I could say about these levels is watch out for water jets, jump over pits,
and eat the fruit. But don't worry, no ghost in this level except for
Sue/Doris. Also, in these levels are boats. Get one and platforms show up,
blocking off some pits.

Round 8: Return

First, clear the pool and try to eat as much strawberries as possible. Be
careful of the ghost planes. Now, you should be in the forest. There will be
lots of ghost planes there. If you still have the helmet, you're lucky and go
get those baby ghost the ghost planes drop. If not, just be careful. Once the
forest is cleared, the trip ends.

-Trip 3-
Fruit: Orange

Round 9: Desert/Pool

If you stage select here, you should be able to push that cactus and get a
helmet. If not, they, just ignore it and try the other cacti for the helmet.
First, jump over the pool and try to get the oranges. On your way, watch out
for the skull. It will drag you to the ground. Near the end is the Power Pellet
and ghost.

Round 10: Forest

A note to TG-16 users, pushing one of the logs back won't make you invisible.
Instead, you walk backwards or upside down. If you are playing the arcade
version, you will become invisible. The first half is the skirt wearing ghost
and pogo ghost. Near the end is a Power Pellet. First have a ghost plane follow
you and drop a ghost, then eat the pellet. After that, the round ends.

Round 11: Mountains/Desert

OK, not much here. Just clear the mountain area. Once the mountain is cleared,
try pushing the cactus to become invisible. Now get the Power Pellet and eat
away. Then, clear the round.

Round 12: Return

The first part will be the pool. Be sure to control how high or low you fly to
avoid the ghost planes. After the pool, is the town. And near the end, is a
Power Pellet.

-Trip 4-
Fruit: Orange

Round 13: Town

The first hydrent should give you a helmet. You notice there are oranges on top
of the houses. Stand on one of the hydrants and a shot of water will fire
upward. There, you can land on the rooftops collecting oranges. Near the end is
a Power Pellet.

Round 14: Dungon

Nothing much to say, but find the right way and don't open the wrong doors.
TG-16 players, be careful of ghost.

Round 15: Water Castle

Again, nothing much but avoid the water jets and collect boats to form
platforms.

Round 16: Return

The first part will be the mountain. Also, a 1-up is around here. Then, its the
forest. If you still have the helmet, you're very safe. At the end, is a Power
Pellet.

-Trip 5-
Fruit: Apple

Round 17: Pool/Forest

If you start your game here, the first cactus gives you a helmet. Before the
pool is a Power Pellet and ghost planes. After the pool, is a small forest and
a spring board. This is tricky, cause you not only need a long jump but you
have to do it with lots of ghost around. Oh yeah, watch out for the skull near
the end.

Round 18: Mountains

Again, just like any mountains stage avoid pits, jump on logs and clouds, and
avoid ghost planes.

Round 19: Dungon

Same as first, except limited view and very little amount of keys.

Round 20: Return

Basically this is beat the level, before time runs out. Here's a quick run
down: Forest, Pool, Forest, Pool, Forest with Pogo Ghost, Town, Power Pellet at
the end.

-Trip 6-
Fruit: Apple

Round 21: Town

The third hydrent should give you a helmet, making this level a little easier.
Lots of ghost will drop baby ghost in this town. Oh yeah, be warned of buses.
At the end is an unreachable Power Pellet. In order to get it is to jump on top
of a ghost and get it.

Round 22: Mountains

Same as any mountain stage, except be careful of some cloud. They tend to drop
down the pit. Also, this one has a pool with logs to cross. Just jump on the
logs and don't fall in the water.

Round 23: Water Castle

Same as other water castle, except lots of ghost planes. And some ghost planes
will attack from behind and some will swoop down on you.

Round 24: Return

You start at the water castle. Try not to get hit by the water streams. After
the castle, you're back in town. As usual, near the end is a Power Pellet.

-Trip 7-
Fruit: Apple

Round 25: Forest/Desert

You will start at the forest full of ghost planes, pogos, and ghost skirts. The
third log will give you a helmet. Next is the skull place. The first and last
skull will try to kill you. Now you're back to the forest. Again, a Power
Pellet is at the end of the level.

Round 26: Mountains

This one is kind of tough. Lots of long pits and low flying ghost. On the way,
there's a pool with two horizontal logs and two vertical logs. A good trick is
to use the low flying ghost planes as stepping stones. Near the end is a Power
Pellet and a long pit. Better get the Power Pellet so you can jump higher and
over this pit.

Round 27: Forest/Desert
The usual forest, except that is dark (Arcade version only.) In the forest
area, watch out for ghost pogos, cars, and ghost skirts. Now once you reach the
desert, the second cactus should give you invisibility. And at the end is a
Power Pellet.

Round 28: Return
First part is a clear run. Just be careful about the pogo ghost. Once you pass
the forest, a 1-up should appear at the start of the mountain part. Watch out
for ghost planes. Near the end is a pit with a Power Pellet.

-Trip 8-
Fruit: Apple

Round 29: Forest/Pool
The beginning starts with a forest. At the end of the forest is a long pool,
with no spring board. You're wondering, "How the heck do I jump that?" Just
jump on top on one of the ghost planes to reach an island with a Power Pellet.
Once you are there, just jump on the clouds til you reach the end. But be
careful of ghost planes.

Round 30: Dungon
Same old dungon. Just be real quick about it. This level doesn't have lots of
keys.

Round 31: Water Castle
This water castle starts with the ghost skirts. Then halfway, is a Power
Pellet. Also, be careful of ghost planes flying downward.

Round 32: Return
The toughest part of the game. Which is why it's the last level (Well only to
the TG-16 players). This whole level is just a huge pool with lots of ghost
planes. You must control how you use those boots to avoid the ghost. And once
you reach the other side, you will see a Power Pellet. And after that, you beat
the Trip.

Congratulations: You just beaten "Pac-Land". Enjoy the ending. That is if you
are playing the TG-16 version. Prepare to play a harder version. As for the
Arcade players, sorry no ending. Instead, you will play Trip 9.

-Trip 9-
Fruit: Melon

Basically Trip 5, except the time moves quickly.

-Trip 10-
Fruit: Melon

Basically Trip 6, except the time moves quickly.

-Trip 11-
Fruit: Melon

Basically Trip 7, except the time moves quickly.

-Trip 12-
Fruit: Melon

Basically Trip 8, except the time moves quickly.

-Trip 13-
Fruit: ???

If you make it this far, then you are too good. Don't know what's here. I bet
Trip 5 again, but a different fruit.
