I. Introduction

Great Japanese shooter.  Even though the game is short and pretty easy
it is very fun to play.  I find it the most amusing shooter I have played in a
long time.  Every time you die you get a screen with a picture and some text.
You gotta love one with a raging man saying "NO SHIT. I GOT THE WRONG WAY".
Since the game is short and easy I will be very brief in my
descriptions of levels and bosses.  This faqs is mostly for those who want
to know how to play the game.

II.     Game Story

No idea, but if I had to guess it has to do with a man wanting to get
some from Nero and some chick.

III. Options

You can either select a new game, or to input a password.

IV.     Basic Controls / Gameplay

B     - Shoots your normal shot.
C     - Uses your limited weapon.
Select - Increase your speed, after you hit 4 if you press it again your
speed goes to 1
 Start - Pauses game

At the top of the screen you will see some important things to look out
for.

1) Shield -  The Shield for your vehicle will only protect you for 4 shots,
and then you die.  When you see your remaining shield replaced with the word
"PANIC", then you will die in the next hit.

2) Speed - You can select speeds 1 to 4 with the R button.  The default speed
is 3.

A few things that are good to know.

-You can run into walls, but if you get stuck on the left side of the screen
by a wall, it will crush you and you will die.
-Pickups last until they leave the screen.
-There are infinite continues, and you get to start at the section that you
died on. For example if you die on 1-3 you get to  start on 1-3.
-When you get hit your main weapon upgrade will decrease by one.

V.      Weapon Choices

You can change weapons at the start of every new stage by pressing C,
the button that you use to fire your special weapon.

       Main Weapon ShotII
       - Beam Valcan (poor Japanese kids, growing up and never learning to
spell "Vulcan" correctly...)
       - Laser Cannon

       Sub Weapon
       - Chaser
       - Crusher
       - Barrier

 Weapon Descriptions

Beam Valcan - Best main weapon, because it covers the most area.  It is not
piercing like the lasers but the angled shots really allow you to
have an easier time of beating the game.
lvl1 - One stream of shots forward.
lvl2 - Adds two angled shots out infront of you.
lvl3 - Each shot gets another stream next to them.
lvl4 - Adds a double stream that goes vertically up and down.
lvl5 - Adds a double stream going backwards.

Laser Cannon - The laser that come out stay horizontal with your ship until
they go offscreen. Each shot is piercing.
lvl1 - One stream of shots forward.
lvl2 - Two streams in front of you.
lvl3 - Adds one stream in back of you.
lvl4 - Adds more streams in front of you.
lvl5 - Now you have a total of 12 laser streams in front of you.  Hard
to get, but you kill everything once you get it.

Chaser - Fires two missiles out that home on an enemy and will almost always
destroy them.  The missiles also erase shots that they come in contact with.
The ammo you get is labeled as 96, but since you fire two at a time you only
get half of that.  This is an excellent weapon if you find you need more
firepower to clear out bosses or tough parts instead of a shield.

Crusher - When you press the fire button it shoots out a small ball in front
of you.  The shots that enemies fire home in on that ball, and after a few
hits it will explode.  The explosion deals heavy damage to all enemies on
screen.  You get 6 ammo.

Barrier - Best sub weapon in my opinion.  By pressing the button you normally
fire your sub weapon you can change the direction the barrier is pointing.  It
can be placed forward, backward, up, or down.  You get 15 ammo, and it
decreases by ONE for each bullet it blocks.  If you ram an enemy, the enemy
will die, and the ammo decreases depending on the remaining health of the
enemy.  By the time the barrier goes down you should be able to get an sub-
weapon ammo pickup to keep up your Barrier.

VI.     Pickups

Unlike a lot of shooters, the pickups in Download are common and easy to get
for the most part.  They first come on screen in a diamond shaped box that you
must shoot to open.  Some of the pickups change to another pickup every few
seconds.

       - Shield/Sub-Weapon Ammo - The shield kind of looks like a pancake,
while the subweapon ammo looks like a diamond with a cross through the
middle.  The shield will give you one more piece to your vehicle's health (can
not go past max health).  The sub-weapon ammo restores your sub-weapon ammo to
full.

       - Main Weapon Upgrade - This looks like the siren on top of a police
car.  If it is red and does not change form, then you found yourself your main
weapon upgrade.

       - Bomb/Invincibility - The invincibility looks like a bar with the
symbol for infinity on it.  It will render you invincible for a short period
of time.  The bomb will kill everything on the screen.

VII.    Stage 1

One of the hardest levels in the game, this level does not really hold
back.  The section 1-3 is one of the hardest in the entire game, and has a
pretty tough boss.

If you are a novice at this game, make your sub-weapon the barrier since
this level is tough.

       1-1

The level has lots of cars that shoot and try to ram you, as well as what look
like police vehicles on the road.  Large arms will come onscreen in groups,
shoot horizontally and then try to ram you.

The wasp boss can be destroyed by killing the stinger, and eyes.

       1-2

More police-like vehicles that recklessly rush forward to shoot and ram you.
Put them out of their misery.

Shoot at the boss's body to destroy it.  No parts this time.

       1-3

Possibly the toughest level in the entire game.  Machines move on the ceiling
that shoot vertical lasers down onto your head while robots and police
vehicles shoot at you.  Make sure to keep the ceiling clear of the machines
and you can get past this part.
The second part you will find is where large robots are standing on
platforms and tiny robots are moving around and shooting at you.  Try to
place your vehicle so you can clear a lane out without getting shot.  Be
careful not to get stuck on the left side of the platform or you will die
if you get squished.

The boss is a large platform.  You must destroy the various guns, and the
large blue eye to continue.

VIII.   Stage 2

Snakes made of steel balls wriggle while 2D pieces of blue
cardboard float around the screen.  If you hit the cardboard enough it will
explode into pieces.

The boss is hard if you have the barrier, so make sure to have the Chaser
equipped.  Just blast away and it will be dead in no time.  You should move to
the left of the screen as little flees combine into a giant.  Make it bald by
removing its last few hairs, and destroy the guns and legs.  It will do a
strange move where it spilts into three legless bald fleas and they move in a
circle taking up a lot of the screen while shooting at you.  Keep shooting
with your chaser and it will erase the shots.  After you destroy each flea it
will explode into many fleas.  You will probably take a hit, but try to dodge
them.

IX.     Stage 3

Oddly enough this is level is short and only has one section.  After you
complete it you cannot switch out your weapons.  I suggest using Chaser since
you can use it frequently and it is good on bosses.

The boss is a pillar that separates slightly to reveal an eye that shoots at
you.  After you destroy the eye multiple times, the top will open and tiny
missiles will fly at you.  Destroy the top to finish this.

X.      Stage 4

       4-1

Stage 4-1 is a power-up/boss level.  You have to destroy these arms that can
give you a powerup.  The powerups are unique in that they switch from Sub
Weapon Ammo -> Sheild -> Main Weapon Ugrade -> Invincibility.

The boss is decently hard, but if you move up and down a bit you should not
have that much trouble.  Destroy the head to win.

       4-2

The level has a lot of obstacles so make sure not to accidentally get crushed
at the edge of the screen.  Nothing too hard here, keep killing everything you
can and you should not have

XI.     Stage 5

Lots of flying rocks that explode when they are shot.  Have the Beam Cannon
instead of the Laser weapon as your main.  Highly suggest Chaser for this part
as well.

Move forward and back here becuase mechanical arms will reach down and try to
hit you.  Keep shooting and you will win.

XII.    Stage 6

The next few levels are the toughest in the game.  You must avoid getting hit
as much as possible, since the bosses are not pushovers.

The first boss is a huge piece of flesh that kind of resembles a person.  Keep
shooting it and it will separate into tiny pieces of meat that fly around.
Avoid them and keep shooting the parts to destroy it.

The second and final boss of the game is Nero (I think).  He is by far the
cheapest and toughest boss in the game.  Chaser makes this guy much more
managable.  Nero will shoot a blue laser forward as well as a semi-circle of
yellow shots at you.  He fires very small green dots horizontally that balloon
out suddenly when close to you.  You should lower your speed here to make this
easier.  After you destroy the first form it will turn into a smaller ball.
You must move up immediately, because a green sphere will quickly move toward
the boss from the left side of the screen.  Nero gets more spheres that move
around him in a circle.  It is very important you kill him BEFORE he fires all
of the green spheres at you, otherwise he will move towards your side of the
screen, and it is very hard not to take a hit.  So keep using those Chasers
until you run out.

XIII.   Death Endings

Every time you die you get a screen with a picture and some text.  Since
some are amusing I will post each one here.
