--{Introduction}-- [INTR]
A. The Walkthrough [WALK]
This walkthrough isn't so much as a guide as more of a text dump. I noticed
that Wario's Woods has a lot to say, so I decided to type the dialogue and
lessons of the game. The dialogue will be left intact, which means you might
see some errors left by the developers, especially regarding commas.
Truthfully, this is my first completed walkthrough, so this is also for
practice as I wish to submit more walkthroughs to GameFAQs. Feedback will be
appreciated.
B. The Game [GAME]
Wario's Woods is a puzzle game available for the NES and SNES. You play Toad,
who discovers that Wario has taken control of a forest and now has a huge
array of monsters on his side. Equipped with many bombs, Toad sets out to
foil Wario's plans before he gets too powerful.
Both versions of the game have a one player mode, a two player mode, a time
attack mode, and a lesson mode. The NES version has two versions of one player
mode: with bosses or without bosses. The SNES has an exclusive Vs COM mode
instead of a one player mode with bosses as well as better graphics and sound
(of course).
--{NES Version}-- [NESV]
-<Game A>- [GAMA]
Specifically, Game A is the version you play without the bosses. All levels
are regular Wario Woods gameplay. Every ten rounds, Wario gives a message to
you and he grows in size every twenty rounds, continuing to intimidate you.
Here is what he says:
After Round 9 [R09A]
What are you
doin' here?
Go home or
be crushed!
After Round 19 [R19A]
Don't under-
estimate me!
I'll get you
yet,Toad!
After Round 29 [R29A]
I'm warnin'
you 'shroom.
One more
step...
And you're
toast!!
After Round 39 [R39A]
I'm still in
a good mood!
If you back
off now...
..I won't
break you!
After Round 49 [R49A]
Leave if you
want to live
This is my
territory!
After Round 59 [R59A]
Good work,
mushroom!
You've done
very well!
But I'll
beat you now
After Round 69 [R69A]
So,you beat
my monsters!
Well...keep
it comin'!
You're not
beatin' me!!
After Round 79 [R79A]
You're goin'
down,Toad!
'Cause here
comes my...
..monster
barrage!!
After Round 89 [R89A]
Well done,
mushroom man
You're good!
But...
..you're no
match for me
I'll see you
again soon!!
After Round 99 [R99A]
We're not
through,Toad
I'll pummel
you yet!
-<Game B>- [GAMB]
Game B is similar to Game A, except for one thing: boss battles. Rounds 9,
19, and so on to 99 all have boss battles where you use monsters and bombs
against the boss. If the explosion is adjacent to him or her, he or she
takes damage. If no health is left, you beat the boss! Wario's dialogue to
Toad is different in Game B.
After Round 9 [R09B]
I'm warnin'
you,Toad!
Back off or
deal with...
..the wrath
of Wario!!
After Round 19 [R19B]
You've got
some nerve!
Get outta
here! Now!!
After Round 29 [R29B]
You're doin'
well 'shroom
But I'm
gonna win!
After Round 39 [R39B]
Good work,
Toad!!
Keep it
comin'!
After Round 49 [R49B]
You're good.
But I have..
Exceptional
strength...
Power,wit
and charisma
..and I'm
gonna win!!
After Round 59 [R59B]
Oh! You're
good!
But I'm
better!!
We'll meet
later...
..and I'll
crush you!
After Round 69 [R69B]
Oh now! I'm
done for!!
Ha! Just
kidding!
That Wario
was a fake!
I'm still
here and...
I'm ready to
rumble!!
After Round 79 [R79B]
You're doin'
Well,Toad!
Now try some
diagonals!
After Round 89 [R89B]
You've come
far,but...
Don't count
on winning
You must
fight...
the mighty
Wario!!
After Round 99 [R99B]
You haven't
won yet!!
I'm becoming
bigger...
..and
stronger...
And I will
crush you!!

--{Special Thanks}-- [THAN]
I'd like to thank Tero of Tero's Classic Gaming as without his playthrough,
I would've had to play the game again just to double check my work. You can
visit his site at
http://terosclassicgaming.blogspot.com to see his videos.
I also give my thanks to Nintendo for making such a great game for us to play.
Wario's Woods is one of my favorites and it will probably stay that way in the
future.
