-Introduction-
--------------
Maybe somebody will read this, maybe they won't. The point is this is a
requested guide on the SNES list, & I feel like making someone's day. There is
no need to have a walkthrough for all four characters, since you all go through
the same FMV's, Caverns and everything else. I'll try to list a character
breakdown to explain this. Before I seen it on the request list, I've never even
heard of Ultima so I hope this satisfies the hardcore RPG'ers out there. There
are only three working buttons: B, X and the start button so I feel that there
really isn't a section needed for controls. Well this is my walkthrough, enjoy.
Oh yeah beware the major spoilers on the bottom also! This is my favorite game
of all time! Yeah baby yeah!

------
-Plot-
------
The story begins with the Black Knight pacing around a room. He is bored and has
not had fun since he terrorized Britannia. He decides to kidnap Lord Tholden in
order to annoy Lord British. Lord Tholden is ambushed and imprisoned behind a
wall. Lord British summons you, the Avatar, to rescue Lord Tholden. Off you go!

---------------------
-Character Breakdown-
---------------------
Iolo: I am biased against this guy because a; I love arrows b; he's fast and c;
he's too cool. This character is the fastest in the game, he really is. He
starts off with the arrow & some food. Even though his hearts are the lowest, he
is well worth it. The ankh meter is also highest on him too. He's just da bomb!

Dupre: This guy epitomizes strength. With the highest amount of hearts at start
up, you can't go wrong. Unfortunately his star meter is the lowest, but that
won't matter until later in the game. He starts off with a sword & a shield to
protect himself. The ankh meter is lowest here too. Choose him if you want to
bash enemies.

Mariah: Hmm, the best word to describe her would be ineffectual or languid. I
simply do not like her at all. She's slow as a snail, but her star meter happens
to be the highest, simply because she starts off with a fireball wand. She also
has a potion to help with the star meter, but her ankh meter is average. If you
would like a blonde ditz (and a slow one at that) as a character then this is
your choice.

Shamino: Amino acid, he he. This guy is like a pill to the stomach, slow acting.
Seriously, he's just as sluggish as Mariah. The only saving grace is he starts
off with a food and an axe. Umm what else is there about him, oh yeah the
sluggishness passes on to your weapons so watch out.

The game is generally the same, though the treasures will be different in some
areas (i.e. if you have the axe already). Choose medium from the game menu and
begin.

-Iolo the Avatar-
-----------------
Move down a little and you find you are stuck. The northwest door is locked.
Move northeast; open up the crate for a piece of cheese. When Sherry the Mouse
strolls in, give it to her in exchange for the key. Now head to the northwest
door and unlock it. You can get two hamburgers and two crystals. Travel to the
southwest door now, descend the ladder and go to where the Blacksmith is. Fall
down the hole for an optional dungeon or you can skip this, your choice.

Practice:
You land right on top of lava. Quickly get past the crack in the wall and behold
the sights. Each time you touch a mushroom, a snake pops out. So keep touching
mushrooms, its good practice. Make it to the long hallway and in two rooms there
are rats and in the other a bat. Get up the ladder and you are done here. Now
head to the north cave and you'll be in here.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
                       CAVERN OF HATRED
---------------------------------------------------------------------

You are now in the Cavern of Hatred. Ignore the ladder, as that is the way back
out. Go inside the left door to shoot an arrow at some bats. Downwards touch the
hourglass; it lifts up the door in the bats room. Get inside the north door
before the hourglass is done and descend the ladder. You'll see a snake of some
sort; three arrows will put it down. Two green guys with swords are walking
around, shoot them then pick up the crystal. Inside the northern room go down
the ladder. In the east room along with a snake is a heart for you. Read the
sign in the south room. 'The easy way'. The southwest room holds a portal, step
into it. Kill the rat and take the big heart key. In the room with the sign,
move past the fake wall for a heart. Past the heart is another fake wall with a
ladder.

Shoot the four bats and touch the arrow. A traction arrow sort of thing carries
you right into a room full of chests. The chest in a diagonal from you holds the
portal, just be sure to dodge the snakes. In this tight space one can get
claustrophobia. In the north wall there are three green guys, reduce the number
to 0. Lob an arrow at all of the cobwebs to walk around and see a key that you
can't get. Past the south fake wall a crate holds an axe. Rearrange the pots so
that you can get the heart key, and open the door. Walk through the errant
portals, and go past the fake wall and down the ladder. Push the pot forward
then face a deadly tree. Equip your axe and when it casts the arrow spell, shoot
an axe at it quickly. He takes about 9 hits and you can take only two.

After he's finished, push a vase to where he once was and a crack appears. Push
another vase over to the same symbol like you just did and enter the next crack.
The hole to the south holds a hamburger, and the north holds a piece of green
slime. Instead of hitting it, dodge it because it multiplies when hit. Open the
crate up for a vase; you have to push it around the entire room without getting
hit by the slime. When it's against the symbol a crack into a portal will open
up. A room filled with vases, you have to figure out how to get one to the
symbol north. If you cannot figure it out mail me.

Otherwise step onto the yellow arrow and kill the rat. Descend the ladder, don't
touch the next arrow but go north. You can get some gold crowns here to take
them. The shining orb is a sort of layout for this place, so take a look. After
that go onto the arrow then kill all of the bats. Past the fake wall is a wizard
like person. Just treat this battle like the one you had with the tree, except
he's not stationary. They only take three hits, as there is another one in the
next room.

After the second wizard is a giant mushroom. Take it then move into the next
area. Go through the wall to the cobweb and push the vase all over the area with
the statues. Make sure you make a path to the bottom door; the top holds some
hearts & gold. Hit the switch & tada! You can now move around. Open it up and in
the north door is a hamburger, and the next room's north door is a rat so kill
it quickly. Open up that little crate and get a heart key. Enter this door and
inside is the Black Knight's cronie, the troll. Use a combination of the arrow
and axe (you can have both equipped at the same time) to end his days. When you
are in the same room as the troll was touch the right most picture and you'll
have found Lord Tholden! Talk to him then enter the fake left wall. Move down
and enter the smaller town for a parade. You now have the Rune of Compassion!

In the town, you can grab three foods but they cost dough. After your done being
itinerant, activate the magic ankh to reappear in front of Lord British. He'll
tell you what the Black Knight has done (vile fiend) and you have to save Lord
Whitsaber. Before you leave this castle, pay 50 gold for a shield, you'll
probably get good use out of it. Travel southwest and you'll reach the Cavern of
Dishonor.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
                       CAVERN OF DISHONOR
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Travel northward to find a snake, quickly de-fang him. Keep traveling, and
you'll reach the deadly tree. Uproot him then continue to fight a green warrior
with a bat. Inside the chest is a gold crown then take the heart while battling
another green warrior. Keep traveling to find a frog, an octopus like creature
and a rat. Dispose of all of them and take the heart by the lake. Fight another
frog and touch the sharp thing for a crystal. Go to where you fought the octopus
and move right. Fight the green warrior but not the slime/blob as it multiplies
fast. Just avoid it and move down unless you want a heart.

Put arrows in everybody's spine until you reach the ladder. Get near the chest
then back away and throw everything you've got at it. Go right and kill the
snakes then another deadly tree. Ignore the ladder and face an agile leopard.
Get some food from the chest and continue on. Be careful when you shoot the
green rolling balls, the projectiles are strong.

Descend the ladder. A cornucopia of impostor chests are in here. Try to
annihilate all of them, some hold gold crowns. There are a number of fake walls
in here with mushrooms that hold hearts so check that out. On the southeast side
you'll get the fireball wand in a real chest next to a fake. Walk back to the
ladder I told you to ignore & burn the web. Whenever you take one mushroom, you
can crush a boulder. So crush them one at a time until you can pass the fake
wall. Grab the heart if you need it. Wait for the tide to extend to the other
side, and destroy any squid's in your way.

There are three mushrooms and three boulders. One is right by a deadly tree, the
second is above it and the third you must get by defeating one of those wizards.
Break all of the boulders & drop into the hole. Move quickly and open the door
with the rat for a gold crown. Blast all of the cobwebs for some food and open
the other door for 2 gold crowns with an oil flask. Take refuge in the snake
room to the right of the statue and pass through the wall to fight a green
warrior. Open this next door to fight a wizard + a fake chest, take the two
hearts. Now backtrack to where you got the hamburger and the chest with the
heart key is now there. Use it on the door, to the north are two gold crowns.
The fireball wand melts the web and you've found Lord Whitsaber! Now that he's
free, fare to the room across from the snake to leave.

The town of Trinsic is almost directly south of Lord British's castle. Welcome
to the City of Trinsic, it's been pirate free since 1743. I recommend buying the
leather armor since you should have everything else. If your bored you can go to
the top floor and fire off the cannons, it's all right. There are lots of secret
passages that don't contain anything. After your done exploring use the magic
ankh to warp back to Lord British's castle. Lady Lenora of Yew has been
kidnapped and imprisoned & you are the only one who can save her. Head to the
swamps and go inside for the Cavern of Injustice.

Now ends the easy part of the game. The rest of the dungeons are huge, nothing
at all like these first two. Pay close heed & maybe you'll make it by the skin
of your teeth.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
                       CAVERN OF INJUSTICE
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Two snakes and a rat are in this hallway along with a heart. Past the fake wall
are two more snakes and another heart. This big swampy room is filled with bats,
frogs, snakes and water that when you walk in it you move slower. A heart is in
the southern corner. There are two different paths that come to the same path in
the ladders. I'll start with the left ladder, and then go to the right.

Left Ladder:
Descend the southwest one and blow both rats back to the sewers while collecting
crowns out of the three chests. Open the right door and re-kill the skeleton and
take three more crowns. Next up are three green warriors with more gold crowns
then a little imp with the last three.
Before you leave, go to where the skeleton was & stand on the third bed to the
right. A room in the middle opens up, enter the fake part of it and battle the
wizard. The top door holds a mirror and the bottom a fake chest. The right room
has a gold crown; the left room seems to have nothing. Stand at the bed and
another room will open. There are two crystals a chest with a hole in it, fall
into the gap.

Right Ladder:
See the door and turn the knob. Defeat the green warrior then go down the
hallway and defeat a skeleton. Disregard the east door and fare into the
southwestern door. Two chests are right there with gold crowns, and if you don't
push the barrel you can get a heart. The next room holds a green warrior and the
next has two green warriors with a ghastly ghost. Inside the door is the globe,
which lets you see which rooms you haven't entered. Play a medley on the piano
and go into the door I told you to disregard. Fight a ghost for four gold crowns
and a chest with a heart. A little imp makes an appearance, quickly dust him and
in here there's another heart with a crown. Go into the cracked wall and fall
into the gap.

In this hallway there are two snakes slithering around, fix it. Push on to find
two strange looking symbols on the ground; they are triggers that close the wall
behind you. You'll find a door with a heart on it, then a snake close by a room.
Enter it to find the errant deadly tree, kill him with a combo of weapons then
walk down to get the heart key. Keep going and take the mushroom that activates
all kinds of goodies. Use the key already and don't step on the symbol because
of the arrows that fly. Now step on the symbol so two bouncy guys come out. Make
sure you grab the food in the left room. Go into the right room & kill the snake
then move past the fake wall to find a portal with an oil flask. The bouncy guys
should be in here to help with the pots so you can go down a ladder. If they
don't, just wait until they do.

Kill the rat and you have a choice to kill another tree since its optional but
you do get two hearts for it. Continue to find two green blobs, take the path
around them to find another blob, enter the top door since the coffin is empty
in the bottom door. Keep traveling and you'll find a fake chest, and then talk
to the Beh Lem person to get a tip. Throw an axe at the wall a couple of times
and hit the switch then go down a ladder. Run past the arrow shooting statues
and talk to Zoltan, who yields a magic rope. Take care not to shoot the yellow
horses then use the rope to get across the statues. Use it again to grab a
potion & some food then again to reach the ladder.

Destroy the two hydras in the water then read the sign. Touch both statues to
reveal skeletons, kill both of them. Remember what the sign said and use the
dirt barrels on the very right side. When you are one section of water away, use
the rope then speak with Terry. Kill both spiders and pick up a shuriken + a
magic hammer. Push about five more barrels on the left side and use the rope
again. Clear this area out of green warriors then touch the mushroom. Equip the
magic hammer to smash the barrel and down the ladder. Quickly smash roughly
three ghosts and hit the switch to watch a leopard leap out. Kill that and take
the crystal then go into the next room.

This place has spiders up the yahoo! First destroy their web before they reach
you and destroy them. Open the chest for a heart key and inside the crack is
three rats. The heart door opens to reveal a deadly tree! Uproot him (I know, I
said that already) to fight enemies. A lot more enemies: 4 ghosts, 6 hydras, 1
fake chest, 1 skeleton and 1 rat are a lot. When you are done fighting them all
go to where 4 hydras were, use the rope to get across and inside is Lady Lenora.
Well you heard her, use the ankh to leave this horrid place.

The castles resources have all you need to refill on hearts so use that. Escort
Lady Lenora to the north, where the city is. There is now a concentration of
green warriors so be sure to take care of that. There's nothing here really,
except a piano and an expensive cheese & potion shop. The king says you need to
go to Empath Abbey, which is west of Yew.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
                       EMPATH ABBEY
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Three skeletons are wandering around; make sure to cease their loitering. Into
the door, where two bats are flying. The barrels block you from going right to
go left to face two rats. Clear out the two snakes for future reference then
touch the ladder. There's an armchair that you can sit down on, along with two
more deadly vipers. The globe is in here that lets you see the layout of this
place. Go inside the right door, and then push the top barrel over then the
bottom. Two more snakes are slithering around, they must've had a low budget for
these guys. A lonely rat is here also, after you've taken care of that head to
the ladder.

I think two more snakes (cheapos) are in here with you, with a blank room to the
north and a rat to the east. Before you travel into the south room, push the
barrels over in the west so this place is easily accessible. Now burn the webs
with your fireball wand and descend the ladder. It looks like this is a dead
end; hit the switch so you can go into the left room. Try not to touch the
tombstones, because if you do skeletons will crawl out, so 9 skeletons can be
harassing you at once. Ignore the fake wall on the left side and go into the one
on the middle.

Keep opening these doors and there is a fake chest, when destroyed holds a gold
crown. Once you're done in here hit the switch again & the right door will open
up. The 6 coffins in here mean 6 ghosts, so be careful. Choose a part of the
fake wall & enter. You can push around the vases if you want, enter the crack in
the wall and some person appears twice, kill him both times. Since there is
nothing else to do, use the magic ankh to exit and view the little movie. Speak
with the king, and since you've vanquished the evil spirit you get 50 gold
crowns! Get hearts here if you took a beating in the dungeon, I know I did. The
way to the next Cavern is east of Yew, by the lake.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
                       CAVERN OF SELFISHNESS
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Your first sight is of an hourglass. Touch it to reveal four arrows, which all-
go different directions. I'll put in the arrow format so it will be easier. They
go to the same general place, but in different spots.

Bottom/Top Left Arrow: The reason these are the same is because they go to the
same place. There are four spiders beyond the cracks, and they are wreaking
havoc. Destroy them and the webs they are creating, inside the crack are four
gold crowns, save them for later if you are maxed out then descend the ladder.
Kill the snake in here, and touch the mushroom to make the boulders disappear.
Step on the arrow and when you're done moving, kill the tree by diagonally
shooting him and the rat also. Find the right arrow next to a down arrow and
step on it. Run fast because of the motion sensor arrows. Don't try to kill the
hydra, only if you're sure you'll hit it because of the yellow horse. Take the
items & drop into the hole.

Top Right Arrow: Hastily run past the three blobs and fake chest to descend a
ladder. Kill the fake chest to reveal a symbol, touch it and the door opens to a
blob. Move past the dirt doors to fight a deadly tree. Past the well is a
portal, step into it and destroy both trees. Grab the heart key and move down
killing the snakes and you'll see the portal again. Enter the doors and use the
heart key then drop into while fighting a wild leopard.

Bottom Right Arrow: Step on it to be carried along a long way. In this room go
to the right room and receive a gold crown, in the left is a deadly tree, don't
bother visiting that one. Gather everything in this next room and climb down the
ladder. This place is big, but a lot of the extensions just go to nowhere. Find
the four plants and enter the left fake wall to pick up a hammer + a potion.
Pull out your shield since a tree has just appeared. The northeast sections have
a hammer behind a statue. A ghost and leopard are also lurking. In the southeast
section, if you touch the mushroom, three ghosts will appear. Now go to the
southwest and smash the barrel and fall into the gap.

On the southwest side of this room are a skeleton & a troll. On the north side
of this room, there is this light creature that shoots lightning, one hit is all
it takes. There is a fake chest and four real chests with gold crowns. A boulder
is rolling around; you can stop it by shooting it. On the east side there are
two deadly trees and after you destroy them a light creature. This is just an
overview; to describe everything in this huge area would take a long time. So go
to where you came from in this place, look for an arrow and step on it. Find a
dirt door of this room and touch the down arrow. Blow up the webs & step on the
portal to activate the switch, you can now go some more places. There are a lot
of enemies around here but if you look there's a room with five chests, all
filled with hearts. Look for the middle of this huge area and you'll descend a
ladder.

In the bottom right side of this room there is a gold crown, a potion and some
food. The object here is to try and get to the hole. In order to do this, push
the inanimate boulder all the way up and you'll receive a hammer. Use it to
smash one barrel, four more to go. Now it gets harder, when a boulder goes into
the next corridor, shoot it then push it all the way up and take the hammer.
Repeat this four more times to get four hammers. Drop into the gap and destroy
all three powerful green balls. Touch the hourglass and head to the west arrow.
Push the vases over and continue to the middle where the heart key is. On the
bottom there are two hearts. Now touch the north arrow and kill both spiders. A
skeleton is walking around with another spider. Two trees are on either side of
you, make it so they're both on the screen, and then keep walking in the middle
and they'll destroy each other simultaneously. Cool eh?

On the right side, outwit the statues for a hamburger. On the left side, the
portal seems like a mirage, step on the blue and enter it for a hammer. Leave
out of here from where you came in & this time, step on the east arrow. On the
topside past the skeleton there is a boomerang. So enter the dirt doors and when
you get to another snake enter that dirt door. A boulder is rolling around an
hourglass, touch it then hurry down through the cracks and reach the portal.
Past the boulder are a gold crown and heart, as well as another hammer. Get back
to the middle hourglass again then go to the south arrow. Go the north arrow
again & get another hammer so you have 3. Head to the southern arrow again, and
walk right through the well, even though it looks substantial. Descend the
ladder then use the boomerang on the wall.

Travel around until you find a fake wall; touch the symbol inside of it. Now go
to a wall with a crack in it, shoot your boomerang to open it. Next find the
hole and enter it unless you haven't followed these directions, drop down.
Directly in front of you, take the hearts and stars until you're maxed out. Go
to the right dirt door and there are two green warriors with a troll for
company. Touch the seemingly harmless plant to reveal a harmful tree. Destroy
the imp character and enter the portal for two gold crowns and an ankh key.

Now journey to the left door and battle a wild leopard. Another harmless plan, I
don't think so. Maneuver past the runaway boulder and green slime, for another
deadly tree. Boy, the Black Knight wasn't playing when he said special guardian.
This monster will immobilize you and that's about it. Just go to the side when
he does this and clobber him. Hit the switch to rescue this dungeon's maiden.
Leave out the ladder and go northeast for the parade. This place contains the
famous Minoc shop, but you'll need some crowns to get everything (135 to be
exact).

Use the magic ankh to warp to the King and receive a letter. To get to New
Magincia, travel to Yew then use the fireball wand to burn the spider web.
Inside the portal you'll be transferred to MoonGlow, leave out the south side
and head to the city north of here. Look for the stairs then climb up them and
watch the FMV. Talk to Croyel Dauphin for the portal info, which I've
conveniently listed below. Enter the fake wall and head into the West portal.
Hand the letter to Lord Antonio and he'll fork over 50 gold crowns. If you
didn't have enough money before, I suggest you buy a sword, armor upgrade,
anything you don't have enough of. When your done get back to Lord Antonio was
and use the rope to cross the island, destroy the snake and you've got access to
the new Cavern.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
                       CAVERN OF DECEIT
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Overlook the wooden door and enter the dirt door. Destroy the four rats & the
ghost, and then face a deadly tree. When he's in the dust, open the chest to
pick up an ankh key. Use it on the ankh door and two ghosts pop up, along with
the two wizards already in the room. Two more ghosts are sneaking around so get
them as well. Open the south dirt door and there is an ogre, it seems the
longbow & boomerang can't hurt him so equip the sword and 3 hits will put his
eye out. In the next room is a spider by a switch, hit it then the room next to
the couch is accessible. Kill the skeleton & fake chest and plunder the real
chests.

Go down either side of steps and use the sword on the green slime. Kill the bats
with the squid's in here. Do not however touch the yellow seahorses. On the
right side open the chest for the heart key. If you feel like battling open the
left chest and kill all the bats that pop out. Inside the heart door, rearrange
the barrels and go inside the ladder. Time it so that when you are running from
the razors, the boulders are going away from each other. Find your way out of
this maze and knock out the exploding balls. Down the ladder there is what seems
to be a zoo, as three wild leopards are running around.

Pick up the hammer and smash the barrel to fight another deadly tree. A gold
coin is in between the pillars and a troll is in between the barrels. Touch the
statue to reveal a portal, and touch the dirt door to reveal some spiders. Equip
the fireball wand and just hold the button down, if you run out of magic use a
potion. After you plow through these five spiders, walk on the arrow and collect
some hearts from the chests then descend the ladder. The bottom door, seven
snakes are guarding a chest full of cheese, hearts and a star. Equip the shield
and dust three deadly trees. Drop into the hole and destroy the two rats then
wait as the hole passes through the walls. Run to the southeast part, grab the
heart key then open the heart door and hit the switch. Go to the southwest part
and destroy the two trolls and open the chests. Descend the ladder & kill both
explosive balls.

Past the fake wall are a litter of rats, make sure they don't make it to the
sewers. Keep going into the next fake wall. Here are the directions: down, left,
down, up, left, down, right. Destroy both wizards and on the bottom left side is
a mushroom, get that and the food on the bottom right, then enter the top right
to fight a fake chest. Step on the sensor and directly left is a food for you.
On the bottom go into a ladder and kill the skeleton then hit the switch. Don't
open the coffin unless you want to battle some ghosts. Since you can't make it
over, even with the magic rope, move past the fake wall and collect two hearts
with a heart key. Use the shield-weapon technique on the tree. Hit the switch
then return to the ladder and go past another fake wall to battle a wizard. Past
the gate, shoot any weapon at the weak wall then fight two frogs. Use the heart
key here, but before you do fight the three green warriors for the gold crown
and food.

Kill the skeleton then pick up the panpipe! Crest the ladder and re-fill your
hearts to the left ladder. Re-fight the trees and this time ignores the hole.
Two fast rabbits are sprinting in the next place. Across from the well there is
a troll, and the chest has a star key! In the northern room you can easily amass
10 gold crowns. There are two hallways, one is a dead-end with an ogre and the
other has Sherry the Mouse, who reveals a game play tip.

Star Door Way: Open the star door and kill the fake chest. Move past the wall he
was blocking and drop into the hole. Kill both skeletons and go into the door.
Grab the ankh key and use the shield-weapon technique again. Enter the other
door and fight about eight green warriors for practice. Use your ankh key and
battle three trolls for two hearts and another ankh key. This time, the dirt
door has a lot of vases; push the second to last on the right down and the
others over. Use the ankh key and crest the ladder before the ghosts gets you.

Watch the cinema, that Lord Zellivan character is a good fighter, but too bad he
didn't have a sword for the Iskander (ogre). Take the bottommost path that
extends right and sooner or later you'll reach a ladder. Move around fast to the
bottom and in one of the chests is a star key. Now the right door has an
Iskander and a star door. Grab the hammer and two crystals then move quickly to
the top door. Everything is here that you need, so stock up. Head to the last
door, which is the left one and smash the barrel to get a lightning amulet! The
ladder will put you back where the five trees were. Fight past them and head to
the stone head path.

Stone Head Way: Go back to where the rabbits where and enter the dirt door. Read
the sign, touch the plant for some food then touch the stone head and fall into
the gap. Push the vase down, enter the dirt door and push the vase into the
cubbyhole. Repeat this method to open all of the doors and fight two trees.
Dodge the fireballs in this place and get the oil flask. Enter the door and take
the mushroom to fight a lot of ghosts. When you have beaten them all go into the
fake wall on the right side and scale the ladder.

Kill both trees and enter the left door first. Kill another tree, but ignore the
symbol and take the food and oil flask. The right door has three trees,
annihilate them and push a vase down. Step on the symbol, and then push another
vase down. Keep at it and travel through the dirt door then push the vase all
the way up. Go back to step on the symbol once more and open the door. Each of
these statues shoots an arrow at you. In this place full of doors, go down then
straight across that way you won't hit any deadly trees. This place is huge so
I'll give you explicit directions. Look around on the right side for a blue
vase. See the chests? Get the ankh key out of one of them and begin looking for
some Iskanders. Kill all three of them and kill the trees too for another ankh
key. Don't touch any statues, as wizards come out. Be circumspect since of the
razors spinning around. On the left side kill a troll along with 6+ green
warriors. Get the gold crowns and the food.

Directly in the middle, head straight up to fight a giant two-headed Iskander
with a club. Keep avoiding him while using a combo of powerful weapons. Ignore
the right side and on the left, use your ankh key on the top and you've rescued
another Lord! Look around on the left side of this place for the ladder you
didn't come out of. You have to be patient with this guy, he's sort of slow.
Warp back to the castle in case you need hearts then go to Moon Glow. In case
you forgot go to Yew and step into the portal for your parade.

Leave MoonGlow or explore around, it doesn't matter. When your done doing
whatever, wait for a pirate ship to come, block the blasts and step onto the
ship. There are about 13 pirates on the ship; their sheer numbers outweigh you.
Pick them off one at a time and when they are all dead get off of the ship. Get
back on and now you can navigate the seven seas! You can even shoot cannons!
Sail directly north and you'll see the next Cavern. Now sail northwest until you
reach a town nestled in gray rock. Speak with the girl pirate and pay her then
go into the oil flask shop and pay 50 crowns for Dragon Boots! They will help
you out a lot. Sail back to the Cavern and enter.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
                       CAVERN OF COWARDICE
---------------------------------------------------------------------

You'll drop right into the laps of two wild leopards. You should know what to do
by now, step into the lava and equip the boots. Stand right before the spiders
and throw a combo to kill all of them. Don't bother with the tree, instead fight
the green warriors and get a mushroom to make the wall palpable. Dodge the slime
but kill the imp and the ghosts. Shoot the web then shoot a troll. Travel north
where there are 2 more trolls and a ghost. Pass through the right wall and touch
the stalactite to make it disappear. Go north again and fight four pirates for
sword, outdated armor if you have the upgrade, 2 axes, 4 crystals and 2 oil
flasks. Down the ladder, get past the five slimes and touch the mushroom to
reveal a portal.

Put on the dragon boots and cross the lava. Shoot the speedy rabbit and cross
the fake wall for a snake staff! North you can kill two wizards if you want, get
back to the water and move past another fake wall. Smoke the snake and if you
feel like doing this part over grab the heart. There's a wild leopard waiting
for you, a ladder is also waiting. Kill the snake & hydra before you use the
rope to cross the water. Here are the directions for the mini-maze: left, right,
right, right. Face three green warriors + an octopus. Throw out your net at the
tip of the island and destroy the three wizards. DO NOT TRY TO GET THE FIREBALL
WAND, as you'll be warped outside right in front of a hydra.

Your vessel is waiting for you at the docks, so board it. There's a crystal to
the north and a crown to the south & northeast. Two hearts & a star are on the
eastern side. Dock in the middle, put on the dragon boots and fall into the
gap</lame, overused joke>. In this room, it's generally chests. They contain
hearts, gold crowns, sometimes nothing or lightning spitting monsters. In the
northwest corner shoot carefully at the exploding balls and touch the table. Go
into the crack that has opened up & get the star key. In the southwest corner,
destroy the fake chest blocking your way to get the heart key. Now go to the
northeast and kill the tree. Use the heart key here and open the room for a lot
of bats. In the room adjacent to the star door is a wizard, don't waste your
time. Open the star door to face an Iskander. Remember to use the sword.

Fight the green warrior and continue on. After about seven of them a troll pops
up so deflate him. On the globe you can see the layout of this place, it's
pretty neat. Enter the ladder to watch an FMV. Kill all the spiders and one
ghosts trying to end your life. The bottom dirt door has a mushroom, take it and
quickly kill the explosive balls. Go past the unlocked gate on the top dirt door
and decease the ghosts (again) and take the ankh key. Use it in the middle and 9
ghosts are a-wailing. Keep touching the table if you want to fight more ghosts,
otherwise drops into the bottom hole. Maneuver the boulders and use the most
unlikely way to reach the hole in the wall.

Touch the symbol to lift the gates and kill the rats from across the wall. Run
up and touch the symbol again and get back before the gates close. Destroy the
web then touch the symbol, open the left chest to procure the whip! Open the
right chest to procure two venomous snakes!  Knock on both switches and run back
to the symbol again. Reach the arrow and travel freely. Ignore the up arrow and
get the right arrow. Touch the left symbol for a chest that contains the troll
ring! DO NOT TOUCH THE RIGHT SYMBOL, otherwise a bunch of spiders will gang up
on you and pull off a drive-by. The top right brings a heart and top left lifts
the gates. Descend the ladder and enter the portal to be transported into a room
with about five snakes. Enter the room and kill the skeleton with his imp pal.

On the west side kill about 6 more snakes and enter the portal for some fast
food. Kill both Iskanders with the sword & enter the ladder. Wait until the
tables shift and go into the bottom dirt door and kill the rats. Touch the arrow
and it will deliver you unto the giant two-headed Iskander. Hit the switch in
the north fake wall and keep moving. Kill the rats + the skeleton + the spiders
+ the deadly tree + the fake chest for a heart key. In order to pick up the
heart key, I had to get rid of the snake staff :( Kill all three skeletons and
use the heart key. Kill the Iskander, and you have just rescued Lord Zellivan.

To reach Jhelom by ship, look around for a town snuggled against some rocks on
the left side of them. Unfortunately, there are a couple of places like this so
just keep looking. You'll know when you've found the parade. Buy the chain mail
from Mandrake the Bard and your set. Use the ship; I just like it better to get
back to the King. The cinema that you have seen comes true and you must rescue
the next person. Make your way to Yew and enter the portal then leave this place
and go to the north city and up the stairs into the southwestern gate. Leave
here and wait for a ship to come so you can jack it. Find the next Cavern by a
wild leopard and it's only accessible by ship.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
                       Mini-Cavern
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Strange, there is no introduction or anything. Fall right in to meet an angry
troll, make sure he leaves with a smile. Now the trolls can use shields, making
them all the more annoying. There are also 3 snakes to kill. Below a tree is a
potion, and above the tree are 3 more shield blocking trolls, use your shield
for this fight too. Descend the ladder.

KEY
T = Four Deadly Trees
S = Switch
P = Portal
A = Arrow
L = Ladder

Touch the arrow, and it reveals a portal. Hit the switch, it opens the
opposite's sides gate. Either way you are going to face 8 deadly trees, so use
the shield and throw lightning at them. On the left side, push the end vase over
and repeat for the right side. Push the rest of the vases over and create
another forest fire to worry about. Send the skeletons pacing around back to the
graveyard and fall into the hole. Quickly kill both trees and take the burgers.
Touch the arrow to make an odyssey and fight another tree. Enter the door where
two razors are racing each other, Grand Turismo style. Choose the safe path
between them. Go little by little, absorbing the spiked arrows, fireballs &
lightning until you get to the end of the wall. When you see the globe disregard
touch the arrow by it. When you open the dirt door, put on your dragon boots.
The crack holds two hearts.

This room is pretty deadly, I think what you have to do is find the four pads
that don't fade away when you step on them and a hole in one of the southern
bricks will appear with the heart key. Use it and keep going right down the
hole. All you have to do is wait until the arrows converge then move a little.
Go to the northern room and pick up the heart key. Now the eastern room has a
tree, throw a flask at it and get past the boulder for an ankh key. The western
room has an Iskander, behind him reach the symbol and a crack will open with a
star key. Put your shield on and fire anything to get a stern lecture from
Smokey the Bear about setting forest fires. Go in the fake wall and neglect the
ladder. Inside the portal, grab the mushroom and return. The gates are now open,
so try to get inside the crack without being vaporized.

Keep going, absorbing the rays with your shield and you'll reach a mushroom.
Take it and go back to the portal and there are at least 7 gold crowns for the
taking. Get that mushroom to reveal another mushroom, which you must repeat the
process again to reach. After 10 you have your fill of coins, leave. Make sure
to have the blue crystal, next to the fake chest before you exit.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
                       Mini-Cavern
---------------------------------------------------------------------
To find this place look for the leering eyes in a cavern you haven't been in
yet, only accessible by ship. It's to the right of the Cavern of Cowardice.
You'll drop right in on two snakes; pass through the fake wall after you skin
some new boots. To get past each fake wall you must destroy the enemies there,
including the fake wall. Don't pick up the mushrooms by the ladder since they
contain three green warriors each. Down the ladder and do not hit the switch in
front of you. Instead go to the middle with the blue cube and hit all of those
there. On the right side go through the doors and collect 9 coins.

All right now to get to the next place you will need luck and speed. But before
you go, I suggest you spend up all your gold on potions & food. Grab the boat if
you don't already have it & look for the typhoon. Go inside it & hopefully
you'll land next to an isolated town that you can't reach by water or foot. Go
through, killing everybody & having a blast until you reach a coffin on the
bottom. Touch it to make the evil spirit reappear (again? maybe they should've
called the Ghostbusters</corny humor> then kill him with the lightning bolt is
the fastest way to do it. Touch the table with weird symbols on it and put an
arrow through all of the specters. Grab the hammer, and smash the barrel
blocking the symbol. Approach the symbol to make the hole appear right by the
table. Fall into the ravine to make a grand discovery.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
                       CAVERN OF PRIDE
---------------------------------------------------------------------

It wasn't easy to get here. Seriously, I can go on and on but I won't. If you
were exploring and heard the guy talk about this place and the grand battles
that took place here. It better live up to its name, and that's all I have to
say about that.

Go to the southeast end and enter the invisible portal. Snatch up the heart +
the star. Take a bit to familiarize yourself with the invisible portal scheme
here. There are also many gold crowns, hearts and stars scattered all over. Even
a heart key is at the northwest section, so go there. When you've picked that
up, head to the southeast end and destroy the hydra with the octopus. Pick up
the hammer and use the magic rope to get across for a heart key. Jog to the
northeast end and solve this puzzle, if you have trouble just contact me, I'll
explain in detail. DO NOT climb the ladder.

Open the dirt door to the right and kill the two skeletons. Open the bottom dirt
door and wait for a couple of hydras to kill themselves and then step in like
Dr. Kevorkian. The three doors on the right are empty, and on the left two trees
are accompanied by a potion. If you press B on the magic ankh the dungeon will
be reset, I had to learn it the hard way. When you are back at the Hydra Lake,
use a heart key and the fireball wand to burn away the web then use another
heart key. Kill the octopus, and use the magic rope to plummet into the crevice
and land right before a portal.

Here are the tips for this place, as I can't really provide a straight walk
through here. If a portal looks like you've been to it, go to a different one.
Chests are scattered around with hearts and stars, but more chests contain wild
leopards than hearts. The coffins have ghosts in them, so don't bother. Use the
crystal ball at times to get a sense of where you are. There are fake walls
around everywhere, peek inside them for goodies or arrows that go somewhere.
You'll know when you're close to the exit for here when you are by 2 arrows one
going up and the other going down by two portals. Ignore the arrows & go to the
portal adjacent from the up arrow. Read the sign and the 5 gold will
automatically be deducted when you obtain the heart key.

I estimate the number of trolls in here to be around 20. Some are playing
tennis, while the others are busy trying to smite you. Touch the gargantuan
mushroom and the sides will open up. Get to the lower southwest side and open up
all three doors for a star key and heart. You can also grab a heart by the water
fountain. Look around for the star door then enter it. Each door leads to the
same place, so pick the west door. Solve this brain-busting puzzle by first
getting to the key and to the door without screwing it up. Kill about 5
skeletons and pick up a heart and a star key. Inside the star door read the
amusing signs (ah ha!, no) and carefully consider the bottommost door. After
your selection open the ankh door. To solve this one, just think of the human
brain, the left side controls the right and vice versa. Although this applies in
some cases, not all so that makes the above sentence irrelevant. Into the crack,
down the ladder.

A whole room of razors, got any shaving cream? Seriously, I'd be surprised if
you made it out without one heart lost. The thing here is to turn on the
switches, trying not to lose hearts to the boulders. Skeletons show up to make
it harder, just shoot at them from across the gates. Read the sign for some
obscure info then enter the portal. DO NOT touch the arrows quite yet. Instead
touch the brainy figures and push them into the arrows. When they are all gone,
touch an arrow and the gate will open. Toss aside the boulders and carefully
navigate through the right arrow cornucopia. The bottom room has gold and the
top a ladder.

Go all the way left and the door will close on you (Dracula?) and DRACULA will
appear. Just kidding, three snakes will come. After that three wild leopards,
and after that three trolls. Three ogres will then step out, start slashing them
down. Three more will appear, but the gates are already open so get the freak
out of there. The side doors are fake, but the top ones are not. Choose the
spider-infested room to clear it out. Secure the hearts and stars then use final
fantasy tactics to beat the green monster and open the gates. There's a hole in
the wall on the dazzling floor. Open the chest to receive, that's right it's the
magic sword! Go to the ladder and you'll be back in the four steps room.

Trek to the east room, this place is filled with trolls, about 9 of them. Clear
it out and you can get about 5 hearts. What you have to do here is press up
against one table, one will come to trap you in, run from it and into the arrow.
Just grab the bottom mushroom and you can get past them easily. Kill the
skeleton and go to the second moving arrow. Chances are you won't reach the
chest on the first try, but end up in the lava touch the end part of the hallway
with the skeletons in it. When you do reach it be sure to grab the potion. Now
there's a hole so grab the key, and use the first moving arrow to open the heart
door.

This switch puzzle looks hard, but in fact isn't difficult. Just remember that
when all the switches are leaning right, you've solved it. Inside is a tan
monstrosity; it can blow bubbles, fire and lightning. I used two boomerangs for
this fight, so have on hand two strong weapons. When you win, the two armor
knights past the fake wall are really explosive balls, so kill them and enter
another fake wall. Take the right arrow and collect two of everything, and then
you'll get the friend horn! Take the left arrow now and descend the ladder. Kill
the two skeletons then the two trolls inside the dirt door.

Now enter the bottom dirt door for two hearts then head straight right. Go up;
kill the wizard with the fake chest for a star key. Fare up from the slime room
and kill the ogre, open the door then back away since there's a deadly tree.
After your primary source of oxygen is gone take the heart key. You can visit
the heart door if you want, it's not necessary. Fight about 10 green warriors
then two more pop up. If you want a free potion touch the statue in the other
room. Every time you graze the symbol, a star key pops up so build up 25 at a
time and open up the doors. There are enemies all over so watch out.

In the middle you'll find that giant two headed ogre, quickly smite him. To the
right is a huge stockpile of hearts and stars so go there if you need them. If
you find the genie, wish for him to do. If he doesn't grant it, you have to do
the job yourself. There's a heart key lurking around someplace, along with three
shielded trolls. Open up one of the hearts doors and make paper out of these
trees then pick up the ankh key in the center. Use it on the southeast side then
go back and get more star keys. Use them to open up these doors and you'll see a
razor circling around something. Pick it up to reveal the most powerful armor!
Now scurry to the ladder that's around some statues.

You'll be in the four steps room again. This time head to the northern steps. Go
through the top door and past the volcanoes. Activate the hourglass and quickly
get back to where you came from to descend the ladder. Your first enemy in this
slanted room is a green monstrosity. There's a troll, then two more green
monsters with a troll. Try not to get frozen; chances are 99.9% you'll die. Make
your way to another ladder. There are 5 trolls in here with fake chests + an
imp. Take the two hammers and smash your way to the symbol. Press it then take
another hammer. Travel past the boulders and open up all the crates. Before you
drop into the hole, make sure you have two foods.

Step on the arrows for a free ride; open up the middle for a razor spinning
around a symbol. Go to the southwest and get on the belt. Hit the switch, now
the razors that were in the near middle are now loose. The only suggestions I
have here is to step on every symbol you can find, including the ones with
razors by them. If you have done it on the northwest side there should be two
rats, kill them and open the coffin. Use the fireball wand and keep blasting
webs all over. You'll get to a switch, flip it and now you can drop down the
hole, get the food first at the northwest side.

Put on the dragon boots and head across to Sherry the Mouse. She gives some tips
on the magic ping-pong paddle. Don't open any doors unless you feel like
fighting for money. Wait until the razors approach the hearts then push a vase
in and trap them. Keep alternating between vases until you can reach the ping-
pong paddle behind a fake gate. You now have the ping-pong paddle, and it's
really neat! Throw a ball at the gate guarding the ladder. You're back in the
four steps area, and there's only one direction left. Go to the southern steps.

Rats, rats and more rats. Touch the crystal ball to open up the gates and let
the rats out. If you take the mushrooms, they formulate rats. So don't do that
or you'll end up saying 'rats'. Now, touch the crystal ball and you should see
the letter '5'. So go to the fifth mushroom and touch it. Repeat this for all
numbers, the code is; 5, 1, 2, 8, 3, 7, 4, 6. When you get it right you'll see a
smiley face. Stroll over past the 8th mushroom and you'll receive the magic
boots! Put em on and walk right to the ladder.

Don't touch the statue or a tree will back laser you. Be very very quiet, or
careful over the retracting lava floor. Keep going past the lightning creatures
and find another ladder. Leave no stone unturned or rather, mushroom. This is
probably the coolest room in the game, as there are tons of ghosts, bats, rats,
hearts, stars and hammers along with the morphing item at the top. Collect all
of the hammers, there are 7 then smash your way to the ladder. Kill the two
ogres but ignore the ladder.

Melt the web; you can go any path you want. Just don't bother fighting the
troll, since it has a crystal. Look for the door next to the weird looking one
and go in. Kill the skeleton's bony arse and get the wizard also. Now open the
brown door and use the ping-pong paddle to open the gate. Hit the switch and you
can grab up 5 crystals. Enter the little hallway, kill all of the bats & talk to
Terry. Graze the bottom right statue and you can fire at the genie safely. In
the dirt door, push the barrels down for food. Now enter another door to face an
evil spirit. Kill him when he reappears with his ghost buddies also. Touch the
mirror, kill the explosive balls and two statues hold potions.

Next head to the accessible room by Terry. Every time you cross the water with
the magic rope, hydras come out so kill them all. Open the door for green mania,
kill all of them. The snakes are lurking around a star key & a snake staff. Use
the star key already. Enemies everywhere, it doesn't seem like it but listen
with your eyes. Bam! A hydra to the left, bam! A spider to the north, bam! An
ogre to the right. <chokes Emeril> that's enough out of you. Seriously, your
hearts can go down faster than a 747 Boeing if your not cautious. Find the
wizard with two wild leopards, rob them then take the hearts, stars and heart
key. Head to the northeast end, kill the troll to receive a star key. Use it
where you saw the star door. Ring the doorbell and 3 green monstrosities answer
the door.

Take the heart key north, burn the web and wish for the genie to die again. Open
up all of the chests, one of them contains the STAR WAND! Use the ankh trick
listed below then talk to Terry, he tells you what it can do. Whip out your STAR
WAND (sorry, it's just so grand) and destroy the force field. There are plenty
of things for you to kill, in the southwest section wild leopards and slime. Hit
the switch, grab the heart key and since the door slams on you enter the fake
wall and take out some rats. The southeast section has a deadly tree and a
switch to push. Now the middle room is open, and snakes are literally pouring
out of there. Two skeletons are walking around, and they are inside the armor
warriors.

The door has an evil spirit guarding something, use your shield against it and
win. The bottom door contains Lord Quenton! Take him out of here via the top
left door's ladder. Activate the magic ankh, and then head to Yew. I'm sure you
know what to do now, thanks to my handy dandy Portal Directions™. I'd suggest
you now blow your dough on potions & food, since I have too much of it. Use the
shop listing to get bargains ;) Board a ship and look for the volcano ring. Use
the star wand and enter the dreaded Stygian Abyss...

---------------------------------------------------------------------
                       THE GREAT STYGIAN ABYSS
---------------------------------------------------------------------

If you've ever played any other Ultima games, you've had to hear of this. It
starts looking quaint, but it probably isn't. Start off by opening the first
door. This is an absolutely huge maze of doors. Most lead to dead ends or rooms
with enemies. Some have hearts or stars inside. Check the crystal ball to see
what I'm talking about. All the mushrooms do are close the doors you've already
opened. On the northeast side, there is a Cyclops eye to be gotten. You'll know
when you are there because of the imp & ogre nearby. A ladder is on the east
side; you can't miss it (well you can but eh).

Get on the conveyor belt, step off in the skeleton room and read the book for a
tip. The flag is the key eh? Then proceed to the barrels, kill the tree, hit the
switch since it turns the pushing arms off and bust the wall open. Kill the
skeleton & wizard and rub the crystal ball to get the layout of this place. Fare
all the way east until you can see the flag by the tree. Touch the flag and kill
the tree for future reference. Go all the way back where the wizard was and you
now have an ankh key. Now step on the conveyor belt and this time flip the
switch and go into the room with the moving trees. In the middle there is some
slime and a wizard. Go into the ankh door and step on the symbol, then get back
to the middle conveyor belt. Use the magic rope here to land in another screwed
up place (no, not your house).

If you touch the giant head you can get a troll ring. Kill both trolls then into
the portal. Make your way through this cross section of arrows and past another
troll to spot a ladder. On this desert-like surrounding kill a troll then stick
to the left for a heart holding tree. As soon as you grab the heart in the
chest, shoot the tree for a key, Butch Cassidy style. Smite the ogre and on the
left side with some fake chests and lava chest is the star key. On the right
side are some hearts. Kill the troll inside and the chests behind the ankh door
for the ankh key. There is an explosive ball inside so beware; you're in for a
scare. A seemingly enclosed space opens up to a giant deathtrap.

Grab both oil flasks on either side and wrap up the trees. The first two doors
let you push the vases down, navigate through the pushing arms to see two wild
leopards and three hearts. Push the vase over at the top and butcher a rat. You
know all those vases at the bottom? Bring them up here to make the walls
disappear. You must do this for each five walls and make the five gates at the
top open to reach the ladder. My advice on one of them is throw the boomerang
before it is too late (the bottom right arrow), the others are self-explanatory.

In this razor room, go to the top, take the heart key and kill all four trolls.
Before you kill the tree, hit the switch to make him go down and blow up the
web. Keep doing this until the entire web is gone, then he is obsolete. Push the
barrel over and make sure the switch is on the right settings before going up.
Take all of the free money and use the ladder. Make your way through the
boulders to the symbol, and the chest, which has some food. Now travel up and
slaughter the hydras. There are food and potions all over the place, as well as
green monstrosities and various enemies. On the left continent, which is where
you should be, keep moving south and you'll find a symbol, step on it.

When you reach a wizard by a huge tan monster, quickly kill it both of them.
Descend the ladder and boot up with your dragon boots. Directly left is a
stockpile of things, but an ogre tries to guard it. Head straight on the right
side and ping-pong balls will try to freeze you, take the ankh key. Fight the
evil spirit and pass the fake wall there's a huge dragon! Use all your power to
defeat it, I used the lightning amulet + magic sword. Try not to touch
mushrooms; they have very annoying genies inside. There are plenty of things to
explore and find, after your done touch the tombstone and find the ladder to get
out of here.

A really deadly place, it's best to just run past everything but take the
crystals and food. Go left when you're in the boulder place and touch the
hourglass. Keep doing this in order to destroy as many webs as you can, get the
tree also. On the left side get the food and the heart key from different rooms.
On the right side there's a tree, and more boulders. Destroy all of them in
order to reach the heart door. Do this in order to get the star key and get
back. Let loose the little brain creature, they often help you out. On the left
side again, kill both of the evil spirits. More boulders wait past the arrows.
Cut a path through the middle to get out of here finally.

You are now in a 'pie factory'. The sign has more info. It said punch in at the
time clock, touch the grandfather clock. Light the ovens look for a press and
touch it to make fire appear. Find a crate and get the flour, then find a barrel
and get the milk. Put both on the table, and then put in the hay and finally the
water and you've got a pie! Now you have to escort it to the warehouse, in order
to do that you must activate difficult to reach switches. So look around for two
vases block two portals and push them over. Enter one, hit the switch and move
straight up and touch the symbol. It should now be on the way to the warehouse,
if it isn't it's going to the rejected pies category. Once you get the hang of
it, it shouldn't be too hard.

What you do here is, push one of the brainy creatures by the switch and another
one by the symbols. Stand by the gates and they will alternate, allowing you to
kill three trees and a fake chest in order to secure a star key. Use the ping-
pong paddle to hit the lever there, but don't touch the wall switches or the
skeletons will come out. Use the paddle to hit the hourglass, and hurry to the
ladder. Uproot both of the trees and send the leopards back to the jungle.
Destroy the webs in between the boulders and move right. Kill the tree and move
down for a giant Iskander. Quickly put him in the grave for a heart key. Use it
on the left.

Go around, killing skeletons and ogres and your occasional GAMEFAQs board moron
(oops he he) and find lots of brainy creatures. Before you push them, look for a
portal around and you'll discover a whole room of brainy creatures with blue
machines. Use the boomerang to destroy the web from across. Now you can push
them into the middle four chambers and use a rock to seal them there. When you
have all four sealed up, go into the middle; grab the food and the friend horn
then exit.

There are many many many many enemies in here (really, there are a lot of
enemies in here), so equip two powerful weapons. The green warriors are
unusually strong, so beware. Keep meandering around and you'll run into a
fireball monster, and if you touch any of the mushrooms some green
monstrosities. Look for a fake wall on the east side but it's not in the
fireball monster room. Kill a green warrior then find the switch and hit it,
after that head north to find a dragon! The ladder is where the northern tree
is, inside the green monstrosity room.

Smash the webs and use the magic rope to cross the water. Pull out the fireball
wand and kill all of the spiders. Go up to the three green warriors and kill
them also. Look around for an ankh key and open the door. Dodge the killer rays
to get a mushroom. Now go north, and you can reach the star key. Go all the way
around to open the star door, and inside is the heart key with a potion. Go to
where the green warriors were and leave. In order to beat this next puzzle, your
going to have to use the ping-pong paddle to open up the gates. It's easy; I
know you can do it!

In here you must solve each of the four rooms.

South Room: flip the switch and push the left crate over. Flip the other switch
and the heads will turn to barrels. Push the top right crate over, then the
barrel down and you can reach the symbol.

West Room: Basically just kill the three evil spirits. It's harder than it seems
though, put on a shield. Touch the symbol and get back to the middle.

North Room: Experiment with the vases and you'll reach the coffin, which has the
ankh key. The ankh door holds the symbol.

East Room: Push the boulder up and touch the armor warrior to make the arm
extend. Push two boulders right, then push up and over and you'll go down for
the symbol.

Since the tables are now gone, you can claim your prizes in each of them. A
potion, a star, two gold crowns and an entrance back into the main room. For
every skeleton you kill, that's another heart. Be careful, as one slip will have
you careening all over the place. In the middle, crack open the wall for an oil
flask and a symbol. Touch the symbol then skip over all of it when you are done,
and go to the northwest. Break open the hole and exit. First wipe out the
enemies then stand in such a way that the skeleton throws his axe and breaks
open the wall. Next the little bouncing guy has to bounce over on the switch and
make the walls breakable. Touch the symbol and let the bouncing guys get
destroyed by the spells.

Blow the web up and disregard the portals. Let the bouncing guys push the barrel
over and keep ignoring every portal you see. Now when you see the second
boulder, make the bouncing guys go inside it and your pretty much set. Blow up
the web to fight a green monstrosity. Touch the symbol, and the next puzzle
turns out to be obscure. Stay in the same room, look for the blue diamond, keep
chasing it and eventually you'll get the heart key. Fireball both webs and get
to the portal by the entrance to exit.

Travel downward to meet Spyro's older cousin. Defeat him for some food and fight
a tree for more food. Another relative of Spyro is waiting so send him back to
the PlayStation. Trek past more volcanoes & lava to drop into a hole. Break the
walls and flip the switch to activate the extending machine. Push the vases up,
and then it will push them over so you push them up again. Now push the top row
by the door over, and you'll meet a troll with a tree. Lift the boulder and toss
it aside for some food. The mushrooms are the poisonous kind so it's best to
avoid them. Move past the extending arms and tree to leave.

Fake ladders, fake ladders, everywhere. At the north section there's a fake wall
with some food. The real ladder will appear by the entrance when you have tried
all the fake ones. Touch the symbol in the middle to open the gate. In the
middle is the symbol; it opens the gate so prance past the razor dance. This is
like an invisible island walk; so don't be alarmed if you can't move on the
water. Do not let the boulders make you despondent, you can destroy them so do
it along with the troll for the ladder.

Don't touch the crystal orb unless you want triple ogre action. The ladder is
really an arrow, so move fast in the lava and past the spells. Get the top row
of chests and ignore the ladder. Spit fire at the web for replenishing items.
Kill the annoying hydra and squid; throw your magic rope to reach the arrow-
ladder. Let the explosive balls blow up on you and touch a fake arrow to leave.
Put on the dragon boots, the floor underneath is really lava. The ogre can't be
hurt, so keep north and a tree is holding the star key hostage. By the arrow
complexity is the heart key with a potion. Next to a tree is an ankh key, and
left of that is an orange dragon.

Find the green dragon and kill him, then open the star door by him. As soon as
you take a step, a fireball monster appears. Wipe the earth clean with his
carcass and use the heart key to flip the switch. Now that you've flipped the
switch, make your way to the middle and enter the newly opened portal to face
DUH DUH DUH! THE BLACK KNIGHT! He's very strong, as each of his attacks take off
three hearts. It would be best to have over 10 potions & food. Equip the
lightning amulet and magic sword to let loose, but use food when needed. He
basically shoots oil flasks at you. The easiest but cheapest way to win is to
use the friend horn ;), if you don't have it prepare to be hurt. Go right and
collect the absolutely huge sum. Water the plant and the gates will open,
enabling you to rescue Lord Antonio! Leave by the ladder right there and warp to
New Magincia using my portal directions.

Warp to the King to end the game. Well my friends, the journey has been long but
well worthwhile. I hope you had as much fun as this innovative game as I did.
Maybe soon we will see another Ultima game, as soon as it happens I will be
writing for it. CHAO~!@#$%^&*()

just taking up space.

In the inventory menu, if an item has an animation it means it is magic in
origin. In the Great Stygian Abyss, the animations move fast so it must've came
from there.

There are fake chests that spit lightning? You can tell if they're fake because
if they have a light top, they're fake.

The rune that you get out of a dungeon is the opposite name of it?
Ex. hatred - compassion

A mushroom usually holds an item, check one and see.

Try not to crash into any other ships while sailing; you'll have to fight many
more pirates to get off their ship

When you see a little imp, kill it immediately. They steal your food, but that's
about it.

If you are having trouble locating the next cavern, look for the cavern with a
set of eyes leering that you haven't been to yet

In MoonGlow, the cemetery has two gold coins there, but a lot more ghosts

Fake walls are usually darker or lighter in color then the surroundings.

Read the definition for humility before you ask why it didn't grant anything.
