Disclaimer that this guide is made by fans for fans only and if there's

to answer them if I had time to do so.

This guide for those somethings that are mostly known to anyone (but
just can't be able to read them, 'cause its in Nihongo) and some extra
stuff on PSX Tales Of Phantasia (TOP). First we go on to the characters
and the voice casts.

Phantasia Skill Lists

These are list of skills which you can find in TOP, which are basically
two types : hissatsuwaza (special techinques) and juumon (spells). The
TOP characters are has variety of skills, including Cless which can
learn an ougi (secret techniques). First we go to our main guy, Cless.
This also goes with the attack type of that move, with aligned element.
CC appears if the character can be equipped with the Combo Command. Re
member that in TOP you can go for the Channeling and equipped the Tech
nical Ring at your desired character, which only Cless (of course!),
Chester and Suzu has the skills that you can commence.

Remember that in the future, you have to go to several places like fire
tunnel and ice tunnel? Well, below are the details.
- To learn Jigen Zan, you must defeat Feinbeast and retrieve the Vopal
Sword (ice sword) in the ice tunnel (not ice cave).
- To learn Kokuu Souha Zan, you must defeat Flamberg and retrieve the
Flamverge (fire sword) in the fire tunnel (not fire cave)
- To learn Kuukan Shou Ten'i, you must defeat Origin and retrieve the
Eternal Sword (combined weapon of Vopal Sword and Flamverge) in the
Treant Forest.

These three given skills are known as Jikuu Ken Waza (Dimensional Sword
Techniques), as well as for ougis like Jikuu Souha Zan and Ten'i Souha
Zan which are Jikuu Ougi (Dimensional Secret Techniques).

You know that Satsu Geki Bukou Ken is an ougi of TOD' Stan Aileron (CV:
Seki Tomokazu). In the US, Satsu Geki Bukou Ken is renamed as Assasin.
To have that skill, you have to enter Euclid Fighting Tournament for
the ninth time. At the ninth time after you defeat the Calf Beast, you
will have to face Lilith Aileron (Stan's little sister). If you won the
fight against her, you'll received a weapon known as SD (Swordian Dim-
los) which allows you to perform Satsu Geki Bukou Ken. The difference
is that in TOP you have do push buttons after the motion like you were
doing a chain combo in a fighting game.

There are non damaging hissatsuwaza such as :
1. Juu Shou Rai for increasing defense power for a moment
2. Gou Shou Rai for increasing attack power for a moment
3. Shuu Ki Hou for filling up your HP slightly

2. Cless Ougi List

Now for the ougi listings. In Phantasia, an ougi can be found in places
like stores, caves, camps,etc. Now this is the tough part, which is:

To have an ougi available in your skill list, you have to master all
two skills that required for the ougi.

Here's what I mean : for example you have Majin Ken and Koga Hazan in
your list. When you're looked both of them, it shows that the usage of
Majin Ken is 50% and for Koga Ha Zan is 70%. For ougi, let's say that
you have Majin Souha Zan. But you can't use them, 'cause it needs full
mastering of both Majin Ken and Koga Ha Zan. So when you're in battle,
just focusing on mastering swordskills. If you got a new skill, use it.
It maybe included for ougi requirements.

Note that Jikuu Souha Zan and Ten'i Souha Zan are received as you have
defeated Origin in Treant Forest, as well as learning Kuukan Shou Ten'i

Special note that at one time when you take a rest at Miguel Village,
you'll see Cless' dream when he was a little kid. At the time, he saw
his late father Miguel Alvein praticing with a stuffed target. Saw his
liitle child pleased, Miguel perform a move which is Alvein Sytle Final
Secret Technique Soukuu Zanshou Ken. When Cless awakes, he has receive
a class 'successor' which allows you to perform that ougi. The condition
is that Cless is at 1/4 health and the word [POWER] appears at his TP
bar and by pressing O+X+[] at once. Desperation time! Just on his quote
when he do the move, "Makeru .... mono kaaaa!!!" (I will never lose!)
If you used Shuu Ki Hou also at that condition, your health are almost
fully recovered.

ii. Mint's Holy Spells

Her specialty is white magic, which is specializes on healing, status
recovery and others. They are divided into :

Summon spells is a unique specialty of Klarth, which enables him to
call (summon to be exact) elemental mystics to help him. Here they are

Chester is good in archery and he is quite with you in the present time,

Fujibayashi Suzu-chan is a very quick character with speed and agility
above average. For normal attacks, she can do more than two hits (three
in air, four on ground). In the game storyline, Arche is very please to

that you may wonder. How to get Suzu to come with us, is it not? Well,

so level up your characters before you do this. Just to be a little
more easier)

In the future after you saw the Rare Birds in Euclid Science Academy,
go to Volt Tunnel. You can stay for a night first at a house near it.
As you enter the tunnel, go to the right and you'll see a scene where
a little kunoichi (female ninja) fighting against two black ninjas.
She won the fight in ninja style, of course. Cless and others try to
talk to her, but she is in a hurry. Walk up to find her electricuted
in an energy coil. Cless tries to help her, but also got electricuted
instead. Next thing that the two are free from the coil, but the kuno-
ichi goes off again.

Go enter the cave and remember to equip the Sorcerer Ring to activate
the coil for opening the door for a short time. You may keep rapidly
shooting the coil to prepare yourself to run through it. Go to the right.
There's a switch to step on somewhere, if you haven't touched it. After
you step on the switch, go through the door and go to the right. You
find that kunoichi is surrounded by a ninja leader and couple of bad
looking goons. Cless was encouraged by Mint and the others to help her.

Cless steps in and the battle between Cless against three ninja masters
and a hanzou. Try to win this one by equip Cless with a suitable weapon
(a Damascus Sword would be nice), hit them with a hissatsuwaza suitable
for you and a suitable ougi, which I suggest it will be Majin Souha Zan.
Keep on looking at your HP as it may be dropping quick, 'cause you're
fighting against these ninjas alone. Keep using items constantly and
keep on nailing them until their down.

After they're down, Cless and the others try to talk to the kunoichi
once more. Feeling that she own her life to them (especially to Cless),
the kunoichi told them that her name is Suzu. She thanks them and went
off again. Well, its the first step for convincing Suzu to join us later
in the game. Now just keep on continue to search for the lightning mys
tic Volt.

Now that you have Volt and have the Rare Birds available for your own
use. Here's another step that you can do before or after going to Alva
nista Castle performing tasks given by Runeglom.

1. Retrieve the Rare Birds, which you've already did.
2. Four things that you have to do:
1. A book in Euclid Castle about Japon.
2. Listen to a talk by a man in Venezia.
3. Listen to the people talk in Alvanista (the Major's House maybe?)
4. Listen to a talk by a man in a bar at Arley Village.
3. Enter the Trent Forest. Since no half-elves, Arche will automaticly
walk out of the group. That time Chester will replace Arche in your
team force. At the entrance of the Trent Forest, the directions will
be up,up,up,left,left,left,up,up,up. There's Suzu waiting to take us
to her village, which is a ninja village. The vilage name is Ninja
No Hoshi (loosely translated Star Of The Ninja). From there you'll
be treated by mostly funny scenes on Cless being caught crazy by
ninja traps. There are some talks between the gang and Fujibayashi
Ranzou, Suzu's granpa and chief in Star Of The Ninja. Mostly about
Suzu's lost parents whose last seen in Euclid. Then Ranzou will hand
his anscestors' ancient weapon, the Murasame to Cless.
4. Go to the Euclid Castle to register at the Euclid Fighting Tournament.
As you entered the ring, you have your first tournament battle. Make
sure you equip the Murasame or more suitable weapon and your level
are suited for this. For fighting the eighth monster (the Basilisk
King), be sure to use lightning ougis like Shuusou Senretsu Ha.
After you finished the eighth match and won it, there are two ninjas
appear in front of Cless. Meanwhile Cless hear voices which came from
the ninjas' inner feelings. There's a fight between Cless against the
two ninjas, which way to powerful for Cless. As Cless lost the fight,
Suzu appears to save him. Suzu then exclaim that the two ninjas are
her parents, but the two deny that. Then she heard her parents' inner
feelings to fight them. Suzu fights them and she won the fight, while
sad that her parents were controlled by Dhaos.
After all that, go to Star Of The Ninja by talking to a ninja in the
Village Of Elves. Go to the Fujibayashi house and talk to Ranzou about
the whole thing. Ranzou understands that and give Cless an ougi script
on Shuusou Raizan Ha, while asks us to look after Suzu. That means
that Cless and co. has a new companion, named Fujibayashi Suzu. All
you have to do now is go to the shop there to buy some items and
equipments, which mostly for Suzu and search for more items in the
forest around the village. Those items found will be included spell
Earthquake for Arche and BC (Blue Crystal) Rod for Mint.

Since I wrote down the steps above to find Suzu and made her to join us,
all I have to do now is to write down list of cookings in TOP.
