2. Controls

When standing, all wrestlers have three choices at the start: a weak attack
(Y), a medium attack (B), and a powerful attack (A). Press X to run into the
ropes or X and Left or Right to run into either of the corners on the left or
right. Press L to taunt.
Wrestlers can run into the ropes and use one of two moves (Y & B). However,
opponents can use the same two buttons to counteract a running move. Running
attacks into the corner are different. While some of the attacks (such as the
running back elbow smash and running dropkick) can be done when the recipient
is not in the corner, the lion's share of the corner running attacks must be
done when the opponent is in the corner. These moves can be countered also.
When fighting, a wrestler may approach his opponent and initiate a grapple.
In a grapple, timing is the key to which man executes a move. There are two
kinds of grapples: front and back. In a front grapple, pressing X will either
execute an Irish whip or initiate a takedown. Pressing Y, Up or Down and Y,
Toward and Y, or Back and Y will make the wrestler to do a weak move, which
is usually either a strike or a bodyslam. Pressing B, Up and B, Toward or
Back and B, or Down and B will do a slightly stronger move. Opponents must be
worn down a little before these moves can be executed successfully. Pressing
A, Up and A, Toward or Back and A, or Down and A will make the wrestler
execute a strong move. Opponents must be greatly worn down before these moves
can be successful. Finally, pressing Y and B will execute the strongest move
the wrestler can muster. As this is generally a finisher, opponents must be
greatly worn down.
There are much less combinations in back grapples than in front grapples. To
do a back grapple, wait until your opponent is stunned and then go around
them and approach them from behind. If you press X in a back grapple, the
wrestler will either do an Irish whip or a takedown. Pressing Y will bring
forth a weak striking move. Pressing B will bring a move of medium strength.
Pressing A, Up or Down and A, or Left or Right and A will make the wrestler
do stronger moves. As in front grapples, the opponent must be weakened before
moves using B or A can be successful. Also as in front grapples, pressing Y
and B simultaneously executes a finisher.
When whipped into the ropes, a wrestler has a few choices. All of them
require a great deal of timing. Press Y as you hit the ropes to hold onto the
ropes and stop moving. Press B as you hit the ropes to hold onto the ropes
and then run back at your opponent. You can now do a running attack. Press A
as you hit the ropes to do a springboard attack. Not all wrestlers can do
this.
If you whip an opponent into the ropes, you can press Y or B to hit the
opponent with an attack. Pressing A will execute the wrestler's standing
strong attack. Pressing R will, depending on the wrestler, either make the
wrestler do a leapfrog or drop down to the mat. Some wrestlers will do
nothing. You may also run into the ropes and hit a running attack if you so
desire.
If you whip an opponent into the corner, you can run in after them and hit a
running attack. Opponents may press any of the attack buttons repeatedly to
attempt to counter these running attacks. Grappling an opponent in the corner
and then pressing Toward and A will make the wrestler push his opponent into
the corner and hit them with some sort of attack. Grappling an opponent in
the corner and then pressing Up and A will make the wrestler place his
opponent on the turnbuckle facing the ring, so that he may do some top-rope
move to bring him down. If the wrestler does not have a top-rope move, he
will not put his opponent on the top rope. Pressing Down and A in the corner
will make your wrestler place his opponent on the turnbuckle facing the
outside. Pressing A while grabbing the man on the turnbuckle will then make
your wrestler execute some sort of top-rope move.
To climb up a turnbuckle, press the Control Pad in the direction of the
ringpost and press A. After climbing up to the top rope, you may press Y, B,
X or A to execute a flying attack. Y and B are for attacks to fallen
opponents while X and A are for attacks to standing opponents. If a wrestler
cannot do a flying attack, he will not jump off the turnbuckle. If you wish
to get down, you may press Down on the Control Pad twice. To throw an
opponent off the top turnbuckle, press the Control Pad in the direction of
the turnbuckle and press A.
Opponents can be knocked out of the ring either by being released from a hold
near the ropes, by being hit by a move that takes them out of the ring or by
being thrown out of the ring. To throw someone out of the ring, use an Irish
whip next to the ropes. Opponents on the outside can receive three types of
dives. The first, standing, is done by standing next to the ropes and
pressing A. The second, running, is done by running into the ropes and
pressing A as you run across the ring. The third, the top-rope dive, is done
by climbing to the top rope and then executing an attack for standing
opponents. Top-rope attacks for downed opponents will make your character
dive in the ring. If you can't do any of these dives, then the wrestler will
do nothing. You may exit the ring if your opponent is on the outside by
pressing the Control Pad in the direction of the ropes and pressing A. You
may reenter the ring by pressing the Control Pad in the direction of the ring
and pressing B.
With the opponent on the mat, you can either pin the opponent by pressing B
or execute a submission hold or an attack by pressing A. The wrestler will
generally execute different moves if the button is pressed near his
opponent's head rather than his opponent's legs. You can also flip the
opponent from his back onto his stomach by pressing Y near the opponent's
legs. Pressing Y near the opponent's head will make you bring the opponent to
his feet. Flipping the opponent from his stomach to his back involves
pressing Y while near the opponent's head. Pressing Y near the opponent's
legs will make you bring the opponent to his feet. Pressing A or B at either
the opponent's head or legs while they are on their stomach will make your
wrestler execute new moves.
You can press Y and B simultaneously at certain positions to do the
wrestler's speciality move. All wrestlers except for Saxon Hiruki (Ricky
Fuyuki) and Ghouly Mado (Jado) have speciality moves. A wrestler's special
move can be done in one of the following situations: both wrestlers standing,
with the wrestler running, with the opponent running, with the opponent in
the corner, with the opponent on the turnbuckle facing you, with the opponent
on the turnbuckle facing away from the ring, with the wrestler on the top
rope, with the opponent on the mat, and with the wrestler diving to the
outside. You should look at the movelists to see which special move each
wrestler has.

3. The Modes

There are eight modes in Super Fire Prowrestling X Premium:
To choose a wrestler in any mode, use the Control Pad to move from wrestler
to wrestler. Press L and R to switch federations. Press B to select a
wrestler or press X to randomly select a wrestler and a color for that
wrestler. When a wrestler is selected (using B), press Left and Right to
switch colors and B again to accept it. Press Y to cancel your choice.

World Championship:
When you select this mode, you will get a choice to either start a new quest
or continue an old one (if you already have a quest started). Selecting to
continue the quest (the option on the right), you will have a choice of which
game to load.
Selecting a new game will bring you the following options (starting from the
top):
Mode: Choose between a singles quest, or a tag team quest (with the partner
either as the AI or as another person). A singles quest is the default.
AI Level: This selects the difficulty level that the AI is set on. Moderate
is the default.
You can't change any of the other options.
Once you begin the quest, you'll wrestle each match in succession. After each
match, you'll be given the choice of saving or continuing. To save, press
Select and then select a save spot. Then press B to save. Press any button
except B to go back to the result screen. To continue, just press any button
except for select on the result screen.
You must face 79 wrestlers in the HWA league in a singles quest or 38 teams
in a tag team quest. Once you defeat all wrestlers or teams with the suitable
number of points, you move on to the Title Match.

One Night Dream Match:
This is an exhibition match. You have the following options:
Mode: You can select between a one-on-one match, a tag team match, or a two-
on-one handicap match between any combination of humans and AI. 1P vs. 2P is
the default.
Rules: You can choose between three count pins, two count pins, or a
submission match (pins are not counted). Three count pins are the default.
You cannot turn off submissions.
Time Limit: You can make the time limit 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes. You can
also make the time limit infinite. The default is 15 minutes. The time is not
displayed on the screen if you make the time limit infinite.
Falls: You can make the match either 1 fall or 2 out of 3 falls. 1 fall is
the default.
Ring: You can select which ring you wish to use. HWA is the default. You can
select to use a random ring by pressing right twice (it's after HWF).
AI Level: This is the difficulty level that the AI will be set on. It can be
set from 1 to 8. 1 is the default.
Pressing R on the options screen will bring more options:
Referee: You can select the referee here. The choices are Leon Sanders,
Panther Tottori, Joe Hiroshi, and Mr. Mizunaka. The graphic of the selected
referee will appear on the right. Leon Sanders is the default.
Ropes: Turn the rule that any hold will be broken if either wrestler is in
the ropes on or off. On is the default.
Lumberjack: Toggle whether any wrestler that leaves the ring will
automatically reenter when he's able. Off is the default.
No Tag: This is only applicable with tag matches. Toggle whether the match is
a Texas Tornado match (all four men in the ring at once) or not. Off is the
default.
Cut Off: This is only applicable with tag matches without Texas Tornado
rules. This toggles whether tag team partners can enter the ring to cut off
the opposing illegal man from interfering in a match.
DQ: This toggles whether there are disqualifications or not. As there are
only around three moves in the game, this won't come into play much. On is
the default.
Countout: You can either make countouts 20 seconds, 10 seconds, or turn
countouts off. 20 seconds is the default.

Exciting Tournament:
This is a single-elimination tournament with up to 16 entrants.
Entrants: You can choose between 3 to 16 entrants in the tournament. 3 is the
default.
Rules: You can choose between three count pins, two count pins, or a
submission match (pins are not counted). Three count pins are the default.
You cannot turn off submissions.
Ring: You can select which ring you wish to use. HWA is the default. You can
select to use a random ring by pressing right twice (it's after HWF).
AI Level: This is the difficulty level that the AI will be set on. It can be
set from 1 to 8. 1 is the default.
Skip: Should there be any matches in which all of the wrestlers involved are
AI-controlled, you can toggle the skip mode (which skips through the match at
around 8 second intervals) to begin after 5 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5
minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 miniutes. You
can also choose to not have skip mode at all. Skip mode is turned off by
default.
Pressing R on the options screen will bring more options:

There is also a team made up of random wrestlers and a custom team.
Once the teams are selected, a new screen comes up that allows you to switch
the order in which the wrestlers wrestle. To change the order of someone,
press B on one of the wrestler's names and then move it to the spot you want
them to be at. Press B again and the two selected wrestlers will switch
positions. Press Y to cancel a selection. Press Start to start the
elimination match.
The elimination match is a string of singles matches. Once a wrestler on a
team is defeated, the winner goes on to face the next wrestler on the
opposing team. If both wrestlers fight to a draw, the next match is between
the next wrestlers on both teams. The wrestlers retain all damage they've
received in previous matches in each of the elimination matches. The matches
go on until all members of one team have been defeated.

Ropes: Turn the rule that any hold will be broken if either wrestler is in
the ropes on or off. On is the default.
DQ: This toggles whether there are disqualifications or not. As there are
only around three moves in the game, this won't come into play much. On is
the default.

Title Match:
The Title Match is an extension of the World Championship mode. You select a
file like you did when you loaded a World Championship file and then choose
between either the HWGP or the NHC. You have to face 16 wrestlers or 10 teams
in HWGP and 9 wrestlers or 4 teams in NHC. Once you've completed both of these
leagues, you'll have won the Triple Crown!

Starting from the top:
Sound: Select either Stereo or Mono. Stereo is the default.
BGM: Select either High, Medium, Low, or Off. High is the default.
Sound Test: Exactly what it says.
Shadows: Select either Auto, On, or Off. Auto is the default.
Auto-Move: This makes the grappling moves random. This is off by default.
Erase Backup: If you want to erase everything in your game, use this.
