v1.2 (21 June 2K)

By Brandon Boon ([email protected])

This is a mini-FAQ for the Super Famicom game Super Firepro Wrestling X
Premium.  The most recent version can be found at GameFAQs
(http://www.gamefaqs.com) or my HD, which is not exactly public access.
It gives a quick rundown on becoming champion, and the benefits thereof.
So, uh, here we go.

UPDATES
-------
1.2 (21 June 2K)
Two updates in one day?  Yeah.  I played through tag team mode again, and
filled in the missing info.  Unless there are goodies I don't know about,
this FAQ just may be complete.

1.1 (21 June 2K)
Did a slight bit of reformatting to make the FAQ a little easier on
640x480 resolution screens.  Added an End-of-file marker.  Also made some
slight modifications to the legal garbage.

1.0 (20 June 2K)
Initial version.

--------
RANKINGS
--------
Basically, you need to win every match to get anywhere.  Your first match
requires you to have 2 points to advance, after that, the threshold goes
up by 5 every match.

In a nutshell, that means you can win up to 3 matches by count-outs, OR a
single match by time-out.  All other matches must be won using pins,
submissions, or ref stops.

---------------
VICTORY METHODS
---------------
Pin: Simple enough.  Beat the tar out of your opponent, then get on top of
him, and hope the ref reaches the count of three before your opponent
escapes.

Submission: Put the opponent in a suitably painful move, and hope he gives
up.

Ref stop: Something I recently discovered, and basically a TKO.  Smash on
the other guy to the point where he falls over in a "snow-angel" position.
The ref will check on him, and if you don't stomp on him or help him up or
anything, the ref will stop the match and award you the victory.  So far,
nobody's gotten back up when this has happened.  Also, I'm not sure what
moves exactly can knock an opponent out--the only one I know of so far is
the spinning roundhouse high kick.  My advice is to just hit their head as
hard and as often as possible.

Count-out: If you or the opponent leave the ring, the ref will start a
count.  If he reaches 20, whoever's outside loses.

Time-out: Go 15 minutes getting in more offense than the other guy, but
not getting a victory of any other types.  I find this a foreign concept.

--------------
EARNING POINTS
--------------
You can earn up to 5 points per match.  You earn 5 if you win by pin or
submission.  You earn 4 if you win by count-out.  You earn 2 if you win by
a time-out.

---------------------
SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIPS
---------------------
Do Championship mode in Singles Matchups.

HWA: You will have to win 79 (!) matches.  (You'll need 393 points total
to win.)

Once you've gotten the nice endgame sequence, you'll notice that there is
a new mode--Title Bout.  Basically, it's two more short runs a la
Championship mode.  You can choose between the HWGP belt or the NHC
belt--the NHC is a shorter circuit, but you eventually have to get the
triple crown by going through both circuits.

HWGP: Win 16 matches.  (You'll need 77 points total to win.)

NHC: Win 9 matches.  (You'll need 42 points total to win.)

-----------------
TAG CHAMPIONSHIPS
-----------------
Do Tag-Team matchups in Championship mode.

HWA: Win 38 matches.  (You'll need 187 points total to win.)

HWGP: Win 10 matches.  (You'll need 47 points total to win.)

NHC: Win 4 (!) matches.  (You'll need 17 points total to win.)

-------
GOODIES
-------
I only play as created characters, so if you've been using a premade
wrestler, your mileage may vary.

Win the Triple Crown in one division, and created characters start with
100 points to spend on attributes and skills, instead of 80.  Take a
created wrestler to win Triple crowns in BOTH divisions, and he'll come
around with a whopping 150 points, which is enough to buy every perk and
max out all offensive/defensive attributes.

Put together a decent moveset, and you've got a one-man wrecking crew.
