----SimCity (SNES) Text Dump---

Good Job! Your fine city
is growing nicely.  I
don't see any problems
at the moment, so let's
keep up the good work!

TOWN (population of more
than 2,000 people)

Congratulations! Your
village has become a
TOWN.  Placing
Residential zones,
Industrial zones and
Commercial zones in
balanced numbers will
help your city to grow.

CITY (population of more
than 10,000 people)

Congratulations! Your
TOWN has become a CITY.
Solve any transportation
dilemmas and reduce the
crime rate to keep your
citizens happy and the
city growing.

CAPITAL (population of
more than 50,000 people)

Congratulations! Your
CITY has become a
CAPITAL. All eyes are
on you now so it's time
to show your stuff!
Build Airports and
Seaports to improve
your Commercial and
Industrial zones.

METROPOLIS (population
of more than 100,000
people)

Congratulations! Your
CAPITAL has become a
METROPOLIS. You have a
bright future ahead of
you as a politician.
Let's keep going!

MEGALOPOLIS (population
of more than 500,000
people)

Congratulations! Your
METROPOLIS has become a
MEGALOPOLIS.  Very few
people can reach and
maintain a city of this
size! Is there still
room for growth?  Can
you re-zone areas to
increase your
population?  Good Luck!

TRAFFIC JAM WARNING
Stay off the streets!
Heavy traffic is
clogging our roads,
residents are upset, and
the pollution levels are
rising. Now might be a
good time to introduce
your mass transit
program.

ADVICE / CRIME
The crime rate will be
higher in areas where
the land value is low or
the population density
is high. Check the map
and make sure police
stations are distributed
so that they provide
overlapping coverage in
high crime areas.

CRIME WARNING
Crime Alert! The crime
rate in the city is
beyond acceptable
levels.  The residents
want to reclaim their
neighborhoods and are
willing to take matters
into their own hands.
You better build some
police stations fast!

BOWSER ATTACK!
The King of the Koopas
has invaded our city!
While looking for Mario
and Luigi, Bowser is
destroying everything in
sight!  Contain the
fires he has set and
repair the damage
before he decides to
return for a second
stroll through downtown.

EARTHQUAKE!
Crash! Boom! Bam!  A
major earthquake has
shaken your fine city to
ruins!  Major fires are
burning out of control.
Put out the fires and
restore power to all
zones before you begin
to rebuild your city to
its past glory.

SIMCITY SAVINGS & LOAN
SimCity Savings & Loan
would like to build a
branch office in this
city.  I hear they offer
low interest loans for
city improvements.
Sounds like a steal
. . I mean a deal!

SCALE MODEL OF THE CITY
You have been given a
scale model of your
city.  You can see it
using [VIEW] in the
[INFORMATION] window.

AMUSEMENT PARK OR CASINO
Why don't you build an
amusement park or a
casino for your city?
The amusement park will
attract people to the
nearby zones while the
casino will bring more
money to the city.
Which do you prefer?

ZOO
The children of the city
need some form of
entertainment. How about
building a zoo so they
can learn all about
animals? The income from
the zoo will be added as
Special Income.

ADVICE / HOUSING COSTS
If the residents of the
city are complaining
about housing costs, it
probably means that the
land values of available
Residential zones are
too high or that they
are too far from
Commercial zones.

LAND FILL
Are you running out of
land to develop?  With
the land fill, you can
reclaim land that was
previously under water.

POLICE HEADQUARTERS
Why don't you build a
Police Department
Headquarters?  A state
of the art facility
will give the citizens
of your city a wider
area of police
protection.

FIRE DEPARTMENT
HEADQUARTERS
Why don't you build a
Fire Department
Headquarters? A disaster
could happen at any time
and the citizens will
need the greater area of
fire protection that the
new headquarters will
be able to offer.

WATER FOUNTAIN
Congratulations on your
city's 50th year
anniversary!  This water
fountain commemorates
your city's 50th
birthday. Oh, how
wonderful! (I always get
teary-eyed at
anniversaries.)

MARIO STATUE
Congratulations!  Your
city now has over
500,000 people! This
Mario statue has been
given to your city to
celebrate your excellent
work as Mayor. (I bet
you thought the statue
should look like you!)

ADVICE / POLLUTION
The pollution has gotten
out of hand.  Eventually
the land value will drop
and the crime rate will
rise.
To prevent this, why
don't you spread out your
Industrial zones and keep
them away from the
Airport.

EXPO
Why don't you build an
EXPO so that the
citizens can see all the
technical advances we've
made. I'm sure that some
of this new technology
will help to develop the
surrounding Industrial
zones as well.

SISTER-CITY AFFILIATION
A windmill has been sent
from Amsterdam in
remembrance of our
sister-city affiliation.
Let's set it up so that
everyone in the city can
enjoy their generosity.

LIBRARY
Why don't you build a
library for the
increasing number of
school kids?  I'm sure
it will help to improve
their grades.

LARGE PARK
Why don't you build a
big park so that the
kids have a place to
play?  It will also
make your city a more
comfortable place to
live for the residents.

TRAIN STATION
Why don't you consider
building a train
station?  With a train
station, more trains can
run on time and that
will help to develop the
surrounding areas. This
will surely make the
Monday morning
commuters happy!

Hello! I'm Dr. Wright.
You must be the new
Mayor! Let's practice
our city building
techniques by building a
Power Plant and then
adding Residential,
Commercial, and
Industrial zones. Next,
connect all zones with
power and then add
roads for the residents
to travel on.

to the icon bars.

I'm sorry, but it seems
like something wasn't
quite right in your city
planning.  Was your
budget balanced
properly?  Did you solve
your traffic and crime
problems?  Did you build
a stadium?  Let's think
about this some more,
and try again!

POLLUTION WARNING
Smog warning! High
levels of pollution are
causing your city's air
quality to deteriorate.
The citizens are leaving
town. Spread out your
Industrial zones and
avoid traffic
congestion to improve
this situation.

SIMCITY SAVINGS & LOAN
Welcome to SimCity
Savings & Loan!
We are happy to offer
$10,000
low interest loans to
those who wish to
improve our community.
Your payments will be
$500 a year for the next
21 years. Would you like
to take out a loan?

FIRE!
Yowwza!  A fire has
broken out! If it
continues to burn, it
will spread through the
city.  Bulldoze the area
around the fire to stop
it from spreading. Have
you built a Fire
Department yet or do you
have sufficient fire
protection?

FLOOD WARNING!
Break out the life
rafts!  The waters have
risen to flood levels!
Unless you develop the
shore lines to prevent
erosion and future
flooding, the flood
waters will continue
to spread inland.

PLANE CRASH!
A plane has crashed and
emergency crews are
needed to check for
survivors and any damage
caused by the explosion.
Locate the disaster and
put out the fires so we
can look for survivors.

TORNADO!
Run for cover! A tornado
has been spotted in the
city!  You'll have to
wait until it passes
before you can rebuild
the city because nobody
fools with Mother
Nature.

A NUCLEAR DISASTER!
The nuclear power plant
has had a core melt
down!  Radioactive
particles have made
parts of your city
uninhabitable. Bulldoze
the affected area and
rebuild your city using
uncontaminated land.

Enough is enough! You're
the one getting all the
fame and glory around
here.  You should be the
one who makes the
decisions.  Remember,
elections are just
around the corner!

Congratulations on
achieving a city with a
population of 30,000
people!  It seems like
your city planning has
been pretty successful.
You are a great Mayor
now!  Why don't you plan
to build an even bigger
city?

I'm sorry, but it seems
like something wasn't
quite right in your
city planning. Was your
budget balanced
properly? Did you solve
your traffic and crime
problems?  Did you
build a stadium?  Let's
think about this some
more and try again.

ADVICE / TRAFFIC JAM
A traffic problem is
inevitable when your
city grows. Traffic jams
cause environmental
pollution.  One way to
solve this problem is to
replace the roads with
mass transit lines.

ADVICE / TAX
If the tax rate is too
high, the residents will
move to other cities.
Most of the residents
feel that a 7% tax rate
is fair.

ADVICE / UNEMPLOYMENT
The citizens of your
city need jobs! Build
Commercial or Industrial
zones closer to
Residential zones and
check the transportation
grid to make sure your
mass transit lines are
used efficiently.

SHIPWRECK!
Abandon ship! A ship has
crashed somewhere! Let's
find out what happened
and repair any damage it
may have caused.

Where would you like to
build your own house? Do
you want to live near
the residents of your
city or do you want to
build your house in a
secluded area away from
the congestion?
Remember, another
election is just around
the corner!

DISASTER!
A disaster is happening
somewhere in the city!
You'll need to find out
what has happened and
take care of it as soon
as possible.

Do you know how to read
this graph?  If the bar
is positive, there is a
demand for that type of
zone.
The longer the bar,
the greater the demand.
Once you know how to use
this graph, the feedback
will help you to prevent
unnecessary construction
of zones.

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'VE
BECOME A GREAT MAYOR!
The residents of SimCity
have decided to honor
you as their most
successful Mayor. You've
helped this city grow
into a thriving
Megalopolis and you
should have a long
career as a politician.

Run!  Hide! Aaaahhh. . .
Aliens are attacking Las
Vegas!  Parts of the
city have been damaged
by the attack.  Check
the city for damage and
rebuild as soon as
possible.

YOUR CITY NOW HAS
100,000 PEOPLE!
Congratulations!  Your
city has reached a
population of 100,000
people!  You've done an
excellent job in
developing your city
given the limited amount
of land available.  Your
planning has been very
successful.  Keep it up!

LET'S PLAN A BUDGET!
It is important to form
a budget every December.
Careful planning is
required to increase
your revenue without
upsetting the citizens.
If they think the tax
rate is high, they'll
move to another city.

Is everything going ok?
To develop your city
further, I think you
should study your
transportation network.
Citizens don't like to
live or work in an area
that is difficult to get
to.  Connect each zone
with roads or rail, but
remember every kilometer
requires maintenance.
