1.<INTRODUCTION>

*****************************************************************

Welcome to my first FAQ! I started writing this FAQ because I
have nothing to do on the holidays. I usually play games using
FAQS, now I'm writing "A" FAQ. I know people don't read this bit
but I Hope you enjoy!

*****************************************************************

2.<GETTING STARTED>

*****************************************************************

When you start the game, it will say "In the times of war, the
people...blablabla... Thought I was going to write the whole thing,
you got to be joking!
Shortly after, a window will come up saying-

|                 |
| Start new game  |
| Load saved data |
|_________________|

The "start new game' button starts a new game.
The "Load saved data" button loads an existing game.

If you are new to this game pick the first one.
You will then pick a scenario-
___________________________
|                           |
| 1 Xiang Yu's Glory        |
| 2 Liu Bang Declares War   |
| 3 The battle at Guang Wu  |
| 4 The rise of the Phoenix |
|___________________________|

Note: These Chinese names and places are in English in the game.

Go by order when playing the scenarios, this way you'll gain
experience when you take on the last scenario.
If it's your first time choose the first one of course!
After more blablabla, yet another window comes up- (enough with
the windows!!!)
___________________________________
|                                   |
| Level     Novice   Avg      Pro   |
| Battles   Always   choose   Never |
| Players   Demo     One      Two   |
|___________________________________|

LEVEL Novice- Choose this if you are starting this game, don't
listen and you suffer the consequences... actually just a harder
game but still you got some attitude.
Avg- Pick this if you think novice is too easy.
     Pro- ONLY if you dare!!!

BATTLES Always- You see all your opponents battles, don't pick
this unless you have good...no...EXTREMELY good patients.
Choose- you get to choose your opponents battles, I
recommend choosing this one.
Never- if you know you won't watch the battles, pick this
one.
Note: The battles don't include your ones, just your opponents.

PLAYERS Demo- you watch a demo of the game
       One- only one player plays
Two- a maximum of two payers can play

Now you get to pick who you want to be-
Options-

Xiang Yu- My advice, pick this guy he has perfect skill and
stamina, which can help you if you like duelling.

Born- 232 B.C
Age- 26
Skill- 100    Intelligence- 80
Stamina- 100  Charm- 84

Liu Bang- Don't pick this guy, his skill and stamina are lousy.
Although he has more divisions than Xiang Yu, they have low
attack.

Born- 247 B.C
Age- 41       Intelligence- 67
Skill- 56     Charm- 99

After all the windows, select "Ok' then press, "Yes" if
everything's all right. Finally the actual game that we've been
waiting for.

3.<THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT>

*****************************************************************

-Turns

Every division in an army gets a turn. There are two types of
turns, the "Move" turn and the "Plan" turn, in that order.
I'll show you a diagram what they all do-
"Move"
Move Rest                            Info                  Option
 |   |    _______________________|______________________    |
 |   |   |            |          |           |          |   |

 |   | Save     Load    Message    View    Music    ----     End
 | This lets you rest, choose this when you finished so you
 | can continue with your game.
 |
Lets you move in the world map.

-World map

This is where you move around do stuff at towns.

-Points/respect

The points and respect range from 0 to 100. You need 100 to
conquer the land. You can gain these points by giving the town
food; you can also build and farm as well. This will gain you 2
points. If you have a lot of money though and just claimed a
city, you can throw a feast for the elders, this will gain you 10
points. Be warned that the first time you throw a feast, it'll
cost about 2 to 4 thousand dollars but each time you throw a
feast, it cost less.

-Towns or cities

When you land on a town or city, you can claim it unless you
already own it. I recommend staying at the town because you can
enlist soldiers (this lowers your respect), buy arms (this raises
your attack and spirit, but it's a hefty amount of money.), and
stock up on provisions and money.

-Teams and colour code

This information is very important to remember, when you
encounter a dark blue division, that army is neutral; it will
attack everyone. If you encounter a light red, that means it is
Liu Bangs ally. If the division red, that division is Liu bang.
Any colour white or light blue is you and your ally. You can ally
with armies by selecting negotiate and ally. This only works with
the division with Xiang Yu in it.

-Battles

When you move next to a division that is dark blue, red or light
red, you can attack that division.
There are two types of battles
Battlefield
This battle uses people on horses attacking each other with
arrows. You can also duel with an opponent.

City battle (E-mail me if you have a better names)
This battle is at the city; you can attack with rocks arrow or
the door unless you're the one in the city.

-Climate/weather

All it is is if you are caught in a plague, heavy rain, hot area
or windstorms; your spirit and attack will be lowered.

4. <TIPS>

*****************************************************************

>       When you get to a town, take all its money but only take a
quarter of the provisions. Why? The elders or whoever gets
angry without them telling you.

>       Why attack blue or light reds when you can ally with them.
What I'm trying to say is just attack red.

>       Don't buy arms when the city you are staying at have no
money. Most likely you'll have no money left to pay the
general.

>       The first 3 quarters of the game, don't try to raise your
respect. Raise it at the last bit of the game when you have
9000 dollars.

>       Don't divide your divisions up when you have no money or
have only 3000 soldiers. Do this when you have 6000
soldiers.

>       When one of your allies ask for provisions, lets say 3500
barrels of food. You can give him the food but the question
is really WHY??? It doesn't lower your friendship or your
respect. So what do you say? NOOOOO!!! Forget it!!! Get
your own food!!! You trying to kill ME!!! ...I think you get
now.

>       When you have nearly wiped out Liu Bangs army, the last
division usually runs away or hide. There are no tips for
this but keep checking your map.

>       Oh yeah, if you are playing this game on the Zsnes mode,
don't save it when you look at the map. It stuffs up the
graphics but it might only be my computer.
