(I) [Introduction]

- Story -
A one-player story mode in which your character receives a letter that tells
of a treasure called 'Maneki Neko' that can grant any wish. However, 12
ingredients are needed to make the wish. So the character goes on a journey
to find the ingredients, fighting rivals along the way.

After beating all the opponents and gathering all the ingredients, Herb will
appear and issue a final challenge.

- Features -
The most Street Fighter-like Ranma game of the entire series, Chougi Rambuhen
offers a lot more than any of the past Ranma fighting games. More options are
available, and the graphics and sound have been given another boost in
quality.

Ranma ½ Chougi Rambuhen also features an innovative Tag Battle feature, in
which each player selects two characters and can switch between them during
the match. Only one character per team fights at once while the other slowly
heals, and the player can tag between them after certain amounts of time.

(III) [Menus]

- Story -
A one-player Story quest in which one character searches for the ingredients
for the Maneki Neko to grant their wish.

- V.S. Battle -
Two-player versus mode that allows both players to set varous options:
  COLOR: Sets character color (1-4)
ATTACK: Sets character's offensive power; more stars means opponent's
attacks deal more damage to that player (1-5).
DEFENSE: Sets character's defensive power; more stars means opponent's
attacks deal less damage to that player (1-5).

- Tag Battle -
Similar to V.S. Battle, but each player selects two different characters for
a tag team. While one fights, the other heals. After a few seconds, a bar
will appear, which means that you can switch characters by going to the far
side of the screen and pressing Select. The match is won when any one
character per Tag Team is knocked out.

- Options -
GAME LEVEL: Set the difficulty of gameplay (1-3)
TIME LIMIT: Set the time limit of the matches (50-infinite)
PLAYER COLOR: Set the color of both players' costumes (1-4)

CUSTOM CONTROL: Customize the control for both players.
-The last option is Special: use the R button as a

 air attack.

Kachuu Tenshin Amaguriken: Punch rapidly
-A flurry of punches that hit multiple times before pushing the opponent
back. The attack will stop when any Punch button is no longer pressed.

Using HP instead of LP results in a bigger blast that travels slightly
 further.

for a second after the tornado dissipates.

[Desperation Attack]
Hiryuu Korin Dan: D,U+HP

on his opponent's head, fist-first. This deals a huge amount of damage, and
even quite a bit if blocked.

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

- Ranma-Chan -
Ranma's wish is to finally be cured of his Jusenkyoo curse: to no longer turn
into a girl when touched by cold water. Ranma-Chan's moves are mostly

[Taunt]: Ranma-Chan makes a face at her opponent.

[Special Moves]
Double Jump (air): Up
-A second jump in mid-air that can only be used when jumping left or right, not

in the direction of her jump, since there is no freedom of movement during it.

Zujoukuushuukyaku (air): D+HK
-Ranma drops down and slightly forward with both feet. A quick and surprising
 air attack.

Backblow: LP+LK
-Ranma-Chan spins forward and does a backfist punch. Up close, Ranma-Chan does

drops on the opponent's head, fist-first. This deals a huge amount of damage,
and even quite a bit if blocked.

- Mousse -
Naturally, Mousse's wish is to get married to Shampoo. But how far can he get

HP will throw the knives quicker than LP.

Higi Takazumeken (air): D+Kick
-Mousse dives down at an angle with a pair of sharp talons on his feet. LK
travels further horizentally than HK, which goes almost straight down. Great
surprise move if used when jumping backwards.

-Mousse pulls out a chicken and tosses a handful of four eggs across the
screen, which explode in a small radius.

[Special Moves]
Senjyo Konboumida Reuchi: LP+LK or HP+HK

repeatedly. This can rack up to four hits up close, but the large lag
time leaves her open from behind during the attack.

Kurabusuruu: CB,F+Punch
-Kodachi tosses a pair of batons across the screen. Use LP for a toss up that
gradually arcs down, or use HP for a toss angled down.

Ribbon Ashibarai: CB,F+Kick

(VI) [FAQ]

- Why does all the text make no sense?
Because it's in Japanese. Ranma ½ - Chougi Rambuhen is a Japanese Super
 Famicom game.

- Is there an English version?
In 1994, the game was to be ported to the American Super Nintendo by Toho
under the title "Ranma ½ II - Anything-Goes Martial Arts". It was sadly
cancelled, despite the advertisements in several game magazines. Rumors
persist that Rumiko Takahashi was displeased with the quality of the
voice acting in the game, and that lead to its dismissal.

- Can I play this game on my American Super Nintendo system?
No, and yes. The cartridge will work in an American console, but there are
two plastic tabs inside the cartridge slot that prevent imported game from
fitting in properly. They can be easily removed with a pair of pliers, but
doing so voids the console's warrenty (which probably expired years ago
anyway). In any case, do so at your own risk.
