This FAQ for Pocky and Rocky on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System
(SNES) was written by me, Adem Grech, on the 30th of May 2003. It is to appear
on no other site but www.gamefaqs.com. You may use

Why i wrote this FAQ? Pocky and Rocky is a very good game. I was
checking out the most requested FAQ's for the SNES and noticed
that this game didnt have one, so i thought i better do one. This is
my very first (and not last) FAQ, and i really hope you readers of
this FAQ find it clear, and helpful in any possible way.

2. Introduction
=======================================================================
=======
(i) Summary
=======
Pocky and Rocky was released for the SNES way back in 1993. Its a 2
player game where you walk around killing cute anime style bad guys with
your weapons. An original game thats very fun to play, and with 2
players, it's a lot more fun to play. Think of Legend of Zelda: A link
to the past as a shooter, without the puzzle solving and dungeons, and
you preety much have Pocky and Rocky.

(ii) Options
=======
By going to the options menu on the title screen, you can choose to
change any of the following.
Mode: Choose the type of difficulty you want depending on
how much challenge you want. Easy, normal, or hard
Music: Allows you to listen to different background music
from the game. Choose from 000 to 024
S.E: Allows you to listen to different sound effects from
the game. Choose from 000 to 112
Sound: Choose from Stereo, or Mono
Key Config: Allows you to change what buttons do what, if you
dont like the default settings, you change them here.
Exit: Takes you back to the title screen.

(iii) Controls
========
By default, your buttons do this.
A: Magic Cards/Leaves
B: Magic Stick
X: Sliding
Y: Magic Cards/Leafs - Hold to keep throwing
L: Bomb
R: Bomb
Select:
Start: Pause the game.
If you dont like the setup, you can go to the command and press the
button you would prefer to do that action. For example, if you want to
press B to slide, go to the slide option and press B. Simple as that.

(iv) Characters
==========
By selecting start on the title screen menu, you will be thrown into the
game. You will then be asked to choose from 1 or 2 characters. Pocky or
Rocky.
Pocky: She is a little girl who uses magic cards as her weapon of
choice.
Rocky: He is a racoon who uses magic leaves as his weapon of choice.
He is apparently a good luck charm in japanese culture.
It doesnt really matter who you choose, the game is exactly the same for
both players. Its just that they look different, thats really all.

IP = 2 - This means you have 2 lives in stock
() = Hearts - your energy, once you have no hearts left, you die
OO = Bombs - Shows how many bombs you have in stock.
000 = score.
Time = Starts at a certain number. If the timer gets to 000, you will
die. The higher the timer starts at, the longer the stage will be.
If you have a second player, it will not say "You can join in too" but
rather have the hearts and score for the second player as well.

3. Walkthrough
=======================================================================
This is a rather easy game to get into, so you should probably leave the
difficulty on normal. If you feel you need practise with it, play the
game on easy. For a good challenge, and for veterans of video games, i
recommend that you play the game on hard straight away.
Please note that the suitcase locations here will be the same in your
game, although the red or blue orbs could be different. Ive listed the
colored orb i have found on my game play. Orb appearances (not green)
depend on what weapon you have (default (Blue) or fireball (Red)) so
what orb you find will most likely be different.

(i) Stage 1. Haunted Shrine.
=======================================================================
This is the first stage in the game, and you should start by getting to
know your controls and what does what. Anyways, onto the guide.
Once you start, walk up, and kill the fire enemy, keep walking up.
Watch the ghost that comes from the right side of the screen to the
left, kill it and proceed quickly before another ghost appears. After
the ghost, you should be at a well, a flood of green enemies will
appear and try to attack you. Kill them as you walk up until the well
is out of the screen. Now turn right, it will start raining. Dont get
the suitcase as it contains a enemy, if you open it, kill him. You will
come across another well, which contains enemies with an umbrella.
After killing 4, proceed. When you get to the bridge, watch the fish
who will jump out and try to attack you, proceed carefully and kill
enemies. At the bridge, look down and you will see a frog on a lilly
pond. Attack it a few times and you will be awarded 7000 points along
with him awarding you several power ups. complete the crossing of the
bridge.
You will now come to a point with 4 skeletons in each corner. Take out
the right sided ones first, then from afar take out the left two. The
rain stops and you now come where you have to go up. A red blob
appears. He just moves from left to right shooting little clones of
himself, a few shots should take care of him. Get the suitcase and
your health will be fully restored :)
Walk up, watch out for the statues that come alive. Kill them and
proceed. Watch out for the cyclops walking towards you, kill it, kill
the red blob with the tactics you used earlier. Proceed, you will come
to a well. Kill all the enemies that come out of it, and get the
suitcase under it for invincibilty. Continue upwards, and you will
come to another bridge. This is tricky because you will have to deal
with a lot of enemies. Once you cross the bridge, watch out for the
cyclops enemies who attack you from infront of you and behind you.
Walk up, you should see 2 suitcases, get the left one for a full health
restore. The suitcase on the right contains a red orb, which you can
get if you feel like it.

BOSS
=======================================================================
Difficulty = 2/5
The boss for this stage is a guy with a big brown giant head with big
eyes and 2 fangs.
He has 3 main attacks. The first is where he will walk in a direction,
stop and attack you with the nuts he has in his basket. To avoid it,
watch his hand, and quickly run to where he isnt facing. You can attack
him if you are far enough, and you will have enough time to dodge his
attack. The second is where he will take a deep breath and spit nuts at
you. To avoid it, keep running away from them until he stops. Do not
attack him at all while he is spitting at you because you will get hit.
The third, he will bounce into a ball and try to roll into you, then
roll back up. This is the easiest attack to avoid, plus its very easy
to attack him in this form.
With these attacks in mind, the best time to attack him he when is is
doing nothing or preparing for an attack. Its very easy to attack him
when he rolls into a ball.
With patience, you should kill him quite easily.

(ii) Stage 2. Enchanted Forest
=======================================================================
This time you will be walking right. Watch out for the monkeys falling
from the tree. You can get the suitcase near the tree which contains a
red orb. This part is fairly tricky, you will come along a house with
a snake shooting fireballs out, and once it goes inside, fireballs come
out of the whole place. At this point, you should walk past quickly.
You will find 2 suitcases as you apporach another house, the top one
with a blue orb, bottom one with a red orb.
Once you pass here, the direction will change. You will have to kill 5
odd looking things in the ground. Once you kill a couple, a bird will
swoop and try to attack you, concentrate and kill it, it will attack you
with a slow wind attack. Once dead, kill the remaining enemies in the
ground.
Proceed until you get to another house with a snake shooting at you.
To the left is a suitcase, but do not get it until you kill the snake.
Kill the snake, then get the suitcase, it contains a tea cup which will
restore some of your health. Walk up, you will reach another house with
snake, with a bird trying to attack you. Take out the bird first as it
can be annoying, then take out the snake.
Walk up until you reach a giant one eyed man dressed in white. Keep
attacking until you see his face puff up, he will then blow fire at you.
Quickly run to one side and attack him. While he is blowing fire,
monkeys will drop down, so take them out also. Repeat this strategy
until he dies.
Walk up, you will see a suitcase, which contains a tea cup. Get to
restore your health, walk to the left. Watch out for the moles who pop
out of the ground. You can see them by looking at the ground and
watching brown dots move, stay out of there way and kill them when they
pop up. You will come across a suitcase on the top of the screen, which
contains a red orb. Keep walking across, you will soon encounter 5 moles
trying to block your way, quickly kill them as other moles
underground will be trying to attack you. Proceed, there will be a
suitcase containing a green orb, grab it. Two birds will then try to
attack you. Kill them, but move up, if you dont move up, more birds
will appear. Once you have killed the both of them, you will see two
suitcases, the one on the left is a tea cup, the one on the right is a
blue orb. If you have your default weapon, get the blue orb :)

MINI BOSS
=======================================================================
Difficulty = 1/5
The mini boss for this stage is a bamboo tree.
This boss is rather simple. He has 2 main attacks. The first one he
will throw moles from the hole at the top of his body. No need to avoid
them, they just stay there, so kill them off and keep attacking him. The
second attack, you have to watch his hands, 3 leaves will appear and he
will throw them at you. When he does, dodge them. Once he dies, he will
leave 3 items, a tray of meat, red orb, and blue orb.
Proceed upwards, kill the three birds as quickly as possible before
moving up, you will find a suitcase with a red orb. You can either go
left or right here, if you go right, you can get another suitcase with
a red orb. You will then come to another giant one eyed man. He uses
fire breath like before, but this one comes charging at you, when he
does, move out of the way. Kill him, and get the suitcase on the top
left corner which contains a tray of meat.
You will now be on a raft, watch out for the enemies that pop out of
the water, and be extra careful of the ones who decide to jump on to
the raft with you. Watch out for the crabs in the bubbles, avoid
getting under them at all costs, and once they pop, immediately kill
them. You will now see another raft approach you, which has a bomb
thrower. Take him out while avoiding his bombs at the same time, as
well as other enemies. Once he is dead, you are rewarded 7000 points
and the old man on the cloud will start tossing out items to you.
Grab whatever you need. Continue on killing the enemies, you will soon
reach the sea dragon.

BOSS
=======================================================================
Difficulty = 3/5
This boss has 4 long headed serpents as well as a octopus to contend
with.
To kill this boss, you have to attack the serpents that pop out of the
water. 2 at a time will pop up, attack one till it goes down, then go
for the other. Do this quickly before they can start firing fireballs
at you. After a while, the octopus will decide to show up. Watch out
for the water beam it shoots from its mouth, so dont stand in front of
it. Attack it until it goes down, then the serpents will re-emerge.
Once it starts getting closer to death, the octopus will start emerging
with the 2 serpents, so you have to watch out for the octopus's water
beam attack, and possible serpent fireballs. Go for the octopus,
because he goes down quicker, plus the fireballs are rather easy to
dodge. The more hits he takes, the quicker the octopus will re-emerge.
Keep repeating this strategy until he finally dies.

(iii) Stage 3. The Cemetery Mystery
=======================================================================
Head up, and kill the fire enemies. Killing both of them will give you
a red orb or blue orb. Take whichever you want. Proceed with caution,
there will be stars headed your way, avoid these and take out the
pumpkin shooting them. Kill the zombies that get in the way. As you go
further up, you will encounter more pumpkins, take them all out with
extreme caution, as you can get hit rather easily. Walk up and watch
out for the zombies that pop out of the ground quickly. Theres a
suitcase in the middle of some tombstones, get it for invincibility.
Pass through the tombstones taking care of all the enemies. You will
see a wide spaced area leading into a mansion. When you try to head
inside, the door will close.

MINI BOSS
=======================================================================
Difficulty 3/5
For a mini boss this guy packs quite a punch. You will be fighting a
floating skeleton with magical powers. He has 3 attacks. One where he
will take a deep breath and breathe a line of ice. Easy to avoid, just
move out of the way and attack. The key is to watch him closely, he'll
usually dash forwards before doing it. The second is where fireballs
will surrond him and then he will send them to attack. The key here is
to run away just as he is about to throw them to avoid them, dont attack
as they are coming at you, or you will be hit. The third attack is where
he will send 2 spinning scythes to attack you. Easy to avoid, run away
and hit him.
With the attacks in mind, attack him. Dont attack him when he is about
to toss the fireballs at you, attack any other chance you get.
Your now inside the mansion. The first room is a room where you have to
kill enemies without trying to lose damage. The door will be closed.
Bats are the first type of enemy here, kill them before they get a chance
to dash at you. Eventually, green blobs will drop down and try to kill
you. Avoid the slime they throw at you and take them out. The joker
will appear, avoid the spades he throws at you, kill him, the door will
open up, and two suitcases will drop down. The left one contains a red
orb, the right one contains invincibility. Next room.

MINI BOSS
=======================================================================
Difficulty = 2/5
The moment you walk in there will be four pots, one in each corner. A
genie will pop out. Just attack him as he goes from one pot to another,
watching his fireball as you do so. Once you have hit him a lot, he
will turn into a cloud. When he is behind you, just run, and attack
when he is quite far from you. Watch the little cloud puffs he throws
at you, you can easily avoid them if you are far from him. He then
should resort to a pot, and go back to his first form. Repeat how you
damaged him in the first form, and he will die. A suitcase will drop,
containing a tray of meat :D
Now you will be outside and it will seem as if there is an earthquake
happening. Walk up and kill the green blob, and get the suitcase for a
blue orb. Walk up and kill the green blob and bat. There is a skull,
you cant kill it, but once it lifts up, you can walk under it. Time it
so you walk under it when where the green blobs platform is on your
side. There will be another suitcase to your right containing a green
orb, carefully walk under the three skulls in the way to get it.
Proceed upwards, and cross to the left side. Take out the green blobs,
there will be a suitcase near the green blob on the right, containing
enemy bats, do not get this suitcase. Proceed upwards and take care of
the joker. The suitcase near him contains invincibilty, so grab that.
Keep moving up and take out the enemies. The skulls here are more
tricky to walk under, make sure you walk under them at the right time,
or the moving platform will knock you over and you will die. You will
get to a cross section, on the right are 2 skulls and a suitcase,
containing a tray of meat. If you have full energy, dont worry about
getting it as its tricky to get under these skulls. Keep going forward
If you go up too late, the moving wall will squash you and you will die
Wait until the wall is moving from right to left before you proceed.
There will be two suitcases here on the path, one red and blue orb. If
your going to collect them, be very quick. After this, its boss time

BOSS
=======================================================================
Difficulty = 3/5
Its the same boss as the first mini boss you fought. He uses exactly
the same methods of attack as his previous form, only this time, you
have to make sure you dont fall over the edge of the cliff, and he does
more dashes then before. But if you didnt find him hard the first time,
you wont find him hard this time around.

(iv) Stage 4. Battle In The Sky
=======================================================================
From the start, walk up and kill the two fireball enemies, the second
one will reward you with a suitcase, which contains a blue orb. There
is also a suitcase with a red orb right near the bridge. Cross the
bridge, and kill the cloud throwing lightning bolts at you.
From the bridge, go left, and watch the skulls falling down from the
cliff, as well as the tornado enemies. See the bird on the tall dead
tree? shoot it a few times to reveal the old man. He will throw you
some goodies that you can collect if you want. Keep going and again
avoid the skulls falling from the mountain. Before the bridge, get the
suitcase containing a tea cup to restore health.
Cross the bridge. This bridge is tricky because you will encounter
another cloud throwing bolts at you, while bats on both sides will be
throwing energy balls at you, which makes it tricky not to get hit.
Do your best here to kill off the cloud while taking out the bats.
Get the suitcase containing a blue orb, and then kill the joker. There
will now be 2 bridges, it doesnt matter which one you cross, they both
take you to the same place. Kill the cloud to cross.
Now you will get to a bit where you have no where to go. The aim here
is to kill all the enemies. There are two types of enemies. Bats,
which come in groups, and the tornado spinning enemies, which you can
only kill when they approach you. Kill a few bats, then go for the
tornado enemies, repeat this method of killing your foes until no more
pop out. You can now go up the screen.
You will now be on a ship, that is scrolling upwards, so you have to
keep moving up. Take out the fireball enemies, then you will have to
kill a pirate in a flying ship. Take him out. Now there will be a big
face spitting fire at you, dont bother killing him, take out one of the
two red orbs on the left or right of him, and destroy it to pass.
Theres a suitcase with a tray of meat near his head, quickly go up and
around, if your quick enough you can get to it. You will have to again
come up with another of these enemies, take the left side and shoot the
orb. Watch out for the bombs that come at you, and then attack the
enemies shooting them at you.
Now a pirate in a ship comes at you from the left, attack it till he
dies. Watch out for the bombs he shoots at you, and watch out when he
shoots his chain arm at you. You now will have to go right then down,
and shoot the red orbs blocking your way. Watch out for the annoying
fat guys who try to jump on you. Make sure you look at the shadows to
see, and kill them when you get the chance. Once down, go right, then
up, and kill the enemy tossing 3 way bombs at you. Pirate in a ship
again, from the right this time. Same deal, kill him as you did before
nothing different, watch the bombs coming at you though. Now once he
dies, you have to encounter a fire shooting face. When he doesnt
breath fire (after the second shot) cross quickly and go to the left
and destroy the orb blocking your way. Quickly now go right and get the
suitcase containing a tea cup to restore some health.
You can go left or right here, up to you. Kill the bomb shooting enemy.
Now watch the fire breathing face on both sides, and dodge the fireballs.
Now quickly go up and destory the 2 red orbs. Now you have a choice.
A path of red orbs to destroy on the left or right side. Both have a
suitcase each. The left path will have a suitcase containing a
invincibility tag, while the right one will have a suitcase containing
a green orb. Once you destroy them all, there will be two more
suitcases, one to the left contains a tray of meat, the right one has a
blue orb. Destroy the pirate in the flying ship, and be careful of the
amount of bombs he keeps tossing. If you have invincibility, it makes
it easier to kill him.

BOSS
=======================================================================
Difficulty = 3.5/5
The boss for this stage is a armoured flying bird.
This is the most difficult boss you have encountered so far. He has 2
main attacks: One where he will fly around the screen shooting 4 sets of
feathers at you 2 or 3 times, and the other attack he go off the screen
and come at you and kick you.
To make this boss easier, take your time killing him. When he shoots
feathers, dodge, and when he goes back from left to right, attack him
then. You can attack him just before he throws his feathers as well if
you get the chance. When he comes at you from the top of screen, keep
moving to make it harder for him to land his attack. Keep repeating.
Once he starts flashing, he will move and throw feathers a bit faster.
You can use a bomb here which will preety much kill him off.

(v) Stage 5. The Forbidden Castle
=======================================================================
Head up the stairs and kill the fireball enemy for a blue orb. The
suitcase there contains a red orb. Attack the door and blast it open.
Proceed upwards. Watch the enemies on the bridge who throw knives at
you Keep going, and destroy the barrel blocking your way. Keep going up
until you meet an enemy tossing barrels at you from the left stairs. Go
to the right stairs and kill that enemy. Go with caution as there will
be knive throwing enemies close by. Destroy the two barrels blocking
your way and move up. Watch out for the lantern who send the green
flame at you, its very hard to avoid. The only way to kill it is to
hit the lantern while its flashing. A good strategy is to hit the
lantern, move up, shoot until it flashes, move up, repeat. This way
your not going to get hit. Theres 2 suitcases here containing red orbs.
Now move to the right, keep going and kill the knive throwing enemies.
You will get to a point where two skulls in the wall has flashing eyes
and it will shoot four beams downwards. Go as far down as you can, and
wait until they have stopped shooting for a bit, now is the time to
cross. Destroy the barrels in your way, but also keep an eye out for
the lantern at the bottom of the screen, shooting it as it flashes.
Once you have destroyed the three barrels, keep moving right until the
lantern is out of the screen. Here, watch the skulls in the wall
shooting beams at you, and kill the three knive throwing enemies.
Now take out the barrels from afar, and go as down as you can. Avoid
the skull beams and cross when you think its safe (tip, get the skulls
throwing beams at the same time, makes things a lot easier) now you
can get a suitcase here with a tea cup, but kill enemies before you
get it :)
Keep moving right, watch the lanterns, and kill the knive throwing enemies
as you go. Now you get to a barrel throwing enemy at the stairs blocking
your way up. Wait until he throws the barrel, and once the barrel goes
past you, attack him. Repeat until he dies. Go up and kill the enemies.
Go up, take out the barrels to the right, while also shooting the annoying
lantern when it flashes. Go up, then watch out for the skulls shooting
beams, cross left, and take out the guy throwing barrels at you down the
stairs. Go up the stairs, and quickly go right and cross before the skull
has a chance to shoot beams, and then quickly shoot the lantern (easier
said then done for this bit) if you dont want to get hit. Go up until
you get to a door. There are also two lanterns here. I recommend using a
bomb, which blasts the door open, as well as stops the lanterns flashing.
Quickly go up and kill the enemies. There are two suitcases here left and
right. The left has a tea cup, the right has a blue orb. Get the items
you need and attack the door until its destroyed.
Enter the door. Now you will be on a floor with flashing panels. There
are two suitcases left and right, the one on the left has a tray of meat
:) and the right one has a blue orb. Get whatever and continue moving
up. Kill the fireball enemies and move up. Listen for a falling sound
then a hand will try to attack you, kill it and move left. There will
be a gigantic head shooting a beam that homes into you slowly, keep
shooting it until the beam gets close to you, now go to the right and
move up, the beam will now be shooting up the screen, then go left and
keep shooting him, until the beam comes near you, repeat this strategy
until he dies. Go up, and now there will be a machine where a ghost
comes out of it. Wait here and kill it and keep going right. Kill
any ghosts that come out of machines, and watch the hands, kill the
gigantic heads along the way using previous strategy. There will be a
suitcase along the way with a red orb, grab it if you need it.
Now you will come to a bit with rolling spiked balls and 3 paths to
follow. A suitcase containing a red orb is here if you need it.
Take the right path, and go up, wait for a ball to pass, then go as
right as you can, watch the enemy here trying to stab you, and when
the time is right, go up. Your best bet here again is to go to the
right path, wait until 2 balls roll past, and go up quickly. Now go
to the left path at this bit, and you will see a suitcase. Carefully
go up to it and get the tea cup. Now wait until 7 balls roll past
and go up, then go left.
Get the ghost from the machine, and carefully go up, and be becareful
not to walk into the gigantic heads beam. Go near the top right of his
head, and just attack him until he dies, he wont get you if your
positioned this way. Keep moving left, go and kill the ghosts, and then
go down, there will be a suitcase here with invincibility, get it, and
cross the rolling ball section with care. Now kill the head, go more
towards the bottom left this time. Keep going, get the red orb from
the suitcase if you want and head up. Move up and kill all the hands
that try to attack you. Again, another gigantic head, go towards the
lower right and kill it, watch the enemies who try to poke you, move up
and now there will be 2 gigantic heads to kill. Try to go left or
right quickly, then take the heads out. Bombs really help here. Move
up, and there will be a room with 4 suitcases, and hands. Kill the
hands. Get the suitcases, the 2 on the left contain a red and blue orb,
the 2 on the right contain a tea cup and red orb. Now move up and get
ready for the boss.

BOSS
=======================================================================
Difficulty = 4/5 first form, 1.5/5 second form
The boss for this stage is a vampire.
This is one tough nut. He will start by throwing white bats at you.
These are easy enough to dodge. The other attack you should be worried
about is the one where the floors will be filled with electricity. To
avoid this, watch the sides of the floor, when the start lighting up,
its going to damage you, so move to a panel where its safe.
To make things easier, at the start of the battle, keep shooting him,
get close and use a bomb real close to him. If you time it right, he
will change into his second form
In his second form, he will be a massive purple bat. He is real simple
in this form. All he does is fly around with bats surrounding him
just kill the bats off and attack him, and eventually he will die.
Onto the next stage.

(vi) Stage 6. Battle With Black Mantle
=======================================================================
Walk up and kill the fireball enemy for a red orb, carefully move up
and watch the wizard who shoots fireballs at you, dodge and kill it
from afar. Move up. Now you get to a section with knights who trust
there weapon sideways, so kill these guys from a safe distance and walk
up. You will now get to a spider enemy who shoots at you only when you
hit him, and he is always moving sideways. Find a spot to shoot him,
and when he isnt facing you, shoot him, this way you wont get damaged.
Proceed up, and now your faced with a big hairy guy who spits fireballs
at you. Keep moving and shooting, making sure he isnt facing you, with
this in mind, kill it. Proceed upwards and kill the 2 wizards. Behind
the flames look for 2 suitcases. The one on the left contains a blue
orb, and the one on the right contains a bomb orb. Kill the knights,
as well as the big guy who shoots fireballs at you. Take your time
and kill the knights as they can get in the way. Keep moving up and
kill the 2 wizards, then kill the 2 spiders. Use the same method as
you did to take care of the 2 spiders.
Now walk up and kill another of the big guys who shoot fireballs. You
should have the hang of killing these guys now. Move up and kill all
the wizards and knights here while going up. Stop at the spider and
carefully take him out. There are another 2 suitcases behind the flame
and the left has a red orb, the right has a blue orb. Get whichever
you need and proceed. Get ready to dispose of the big guy who shoots
fireballs right after the suitcases, kill him, easy peasy :) Keep
moving up, you will come to a section where the are 4 knights and 2
suitcases, kill the knights, and get the suitcases on the left and the
right. Both contain tea cups, how good is that! Mini boss time.

MINI BOSS

Difficulty = 3/5
This mini boss is a floating armour with an orb in the middle.
He has 3 main attacks you should look for. The first is a lightning
strike which is easy to avoid provided you dont stand directly in his
line of path. The second attack is where he will shoot fireballs from
his shield. Either walk or just take a dive and you wont be hit. The
third, he throws his sword at you, best to dive here and avoid it.
All you should do here is shoot him from a safe distance, and when he
is nearly in your line of path, dive and keep shooting. Watch his
shield fireball attack and dive, keep shooting, and when he shoots
his sword, simply dive. After a while, he will die, and you shouldnt
lose too much energy.
Now its boss time

BOSS

Difficulty = 4/5
The boss for the stage is the purple hooded figure you see in the cut
scenes. In other words, you guessed it, this guy is the last boss of
the game.
When you first encounter him, you wont be able to hit him, but he can
sure hit you. See those two dragon statues shooting fireballs, well
concentrate your attacks on them, when both are destroyed, you will
be able to actually hit the boss. If you have a bomb or two, this is
a good time to use them.
Once at this point, he has 3 attacks you should be wary of. The first
he will shoot 2 fireballs that bounce and split into 6. This is very
hard to attack, so keep moving, and if you feel you are going to be
hit, dive for it. The second attack he will throw his cape at you.
Dont worry if you get hit as it does no damage but leaves you unable to
move. Press all the buttons to wiggle out of it. The third attack he
will shoot a lightning beam at you that will actually follow you around
so you have to do the occasional dive if it gets to close to you.
If your feeling cheap, a good way to avoid the third attack and receive
no damage guaranteed is to get hit by the cape, and dont wiggle just
yet, the lightning will stay on you but you wont lose any damage. This
is good to do when your low on health.
The best strategy is to play it safe and take your time. Shoot him
whenever he floats around, and avoid his fireballs, shoot him again
until the cape comes at you, dive (or get hit if you want to avoid his
next attack easy) and avoid the third attack, while getting in any
shots you can. He takes a while, but using this strategy will get you
home with minimal damage done to you.

Congratulations, you have beaten Pocky and Rocky. If you have beaten
it on normal, try it on hard, if you have beaten it on hard, give
yourself a pat on the back. Try a 2 player game if you havent already

4. Items
=======================================================================
Along the course of the game, you will find many items you can pick up
by finding them in suitcases, killing enemies, or discovering the old
man you will throw you many items.
Suitcase: Hit it to reveal what is inside. Sometimes may contain
a enemy, but usually contains an item to aid you.
Blue orb: This powers up your default weapon. Collect 3 blue orbs
in a row to have this weapon at full power.
Red orb: This will change your weapon to a fireball. Collect 3
red orbs to have this weapon at full power.
Tray of meat: This will restore your health. Keep an eye out for
these as they are very valuable.
Tea cup: This will restore health, although not as much as the
meat does.
Japanese Tag: This gives you invincibility. Very handy.
Green Orb: Collect the green orb to increase your bomb stock by one
Bombs are useful for those situations where there are
lots of enemies and you dont want to be hit.
Old Man Not really an item, but more of a bonus. If you can
reveal him, he will pop out and award you with points as
well as various items such as orbs and energy
replenishers

5. General Tips

- Use the first stage to get used to the controls and how the game plays
- If the game seems to hard, change the difficulty, or play with a
friend
- Try to power up your weapon to the maximum.
- If you have your weapon fully powered up, dont go and decide you want
the other weapon power up as you will bring your weapon power back to
its lowest.
- Learn enemy and boss patterns, this will help make the game a whole
lot easier
- Try not to die in a stage. By doing so, you will be awarded with an
extra heart in the next stage meaning more energy.
- When playing a 2 player game, share items, this is the golden rule.
Sure its fun to try to outscore each other, but remember also to take
care of your partner, that means, if you see a tray of meat, and you
have more health then your partner, let him/her have it.
- Dont be stingy, use your bombs in situations that you will probably be
hit hard.
- When you think your about to die and have a stackload of bombs, use
them, when you die the amount of bombs dont carry over, so go psycho.
- Take your time on a boss, dont rush, if you do you probably will just
get smacked plain silly.
