1.1 - Introduction
This walkthrough is for the fun yet simple SNES RPG Obitus. The game is a
hybrid of the first person RPG elements of games such as Eye of the Beholder
and side scrolling action sequences of games such as Link: The Faces of Evil.
First released early in 1991 by Psygnosis for Atari ST, Amiga, and DOS, this
awesome game was later ported to SNES in 1993, by Bullet-Proof Software.
Licensed by Nintendo.
I have constantly edited this walkthrough. Before starting new areas of the
game I would always go back and play through the game using only this walk
through and none of the maps, and it worked well. But of course there are
mistakes and if you see any don't hesitate to tell me.
This is the first and only Obitus Walkthrough I have found on the internet, and
I wrote it. This is also the first FAQ/Walkthrough I have written.

II - Game Information
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.1 - Plot
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You are medieval history lecturer by the name of Wil Mason. While casually
driving through Snowdonia in North Wales your car breaks down. Seeking
refuge you fall asleep in a near by deserted tower. As you wake up you
find out you are in a strange new world. You're a history teacher who's
been shot down from Wales . . . Do you have the guts to make it back?!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.2 - Controls
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
a. First Person Mode
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The D-Pad arrows left and right will rotate your character 45 degrees
to the right or left depending on which arrow you press. You will
rotate right with the right arrow and left with the left arrow. The up
arrow will move you forward one space and the back arrow will move you
back one space.
Start - pauses the games.
Select - brings you to the main menu. Within the menu are 5 options.
The first option is inventory. You use this to sort through your items
while the in game time is stopped. Thus making it easy to sort through
items while in combat, or in general to see what items you have and where
in your bag they are.
Sleep restores your stamina.
Save game saves your progress.
New game starts a new game.
Exit this menu leaves the menu.
Y - Picks up items
X - Drops items
B - Uses/eats/throws/trades items
A - ?
L and R - Switches between items
*Note* You talk to people simply by looking at them and letting the game
sit for one or two seconds. If they don't say anything and the screen
flashes, you're being attacked.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
b. Side Scrolling Mode
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D-Pad - Right moves you right, left moves you left. Down makes you duck. Up
does nothing.
On the three-dimensional screens you can use up and down to travel north
and south in the castle. You will understand when you see the first castle.
Y - Pick up items
X - Drop items
B - Fire your bow/Uses Items - You can charge your bow to do extra damage.
Also, uses keys and potions or whatever.
A - Jump
L and R - Switches between items
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.3 - Basic Things To Know
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are just some tips which might make the game easier.
- First and foremost, give this game a chance as many people do not.
- Save often. If you die or lose an important item you can just load up your
file again.
- You have two basic weapons: Arrows and daggers. Combat is relatively easy
in this game so use the arrows throughout most of the game and save the
daggers for bosses and stronger enemies and whatnot.
- Don't randomly fire arrows as you may run out.
- You can sleep and regain stamina where ever there is a non-aggressive
character. If you see a character who is evil BUT does not attack you,
you can still sleep beside them and regain your stamina.
- Try avoid walking backwards. Sometimes enemies will randomly spawn
and trap you into a wall or something if you walk backwards.
- If you do get stuck walking backwards and get attacked by an enemy
try sleeping and seeing if the enemy randomly vanishes. Seriously, it works
sometimes.
- You have a compass in the corner. Don't be afraid to use it as it is
the most useful item in the game.
- Pick up every item you find, you never know when you might need a herring
in the middle of the woods.
- There are four directions on a compass: north, south, east, and west.
When I say north I mean up, south I mean down, east I mean right, and
west I mean left. Pretty simple.
- I will do my best to guide you through this game but I strongly
recommend using Starion's maps in case you get lost.
- If you are using Starion's maps and do not see an item this is because
you need to turn around until you find this item. You can only rotate
yourself when you can move in more than two opposite directions.
In other words you can only rotate when you have more options than
forward or backward.
- Make sure after you pick up an item you switch back to your bow and arrow so
you don't accidentally use your new item.
- In first person combat you can attack the enemies from a little distance away
but to make sure you are hitting them you will hear a thud sound. Thank you
onomatopoeia.
- Fighting in first person mode is NOT turn based, so when you attack an enemy,
fire your arrows as fast as possible to avoid taking damage.
- You can only trade after the character has offered the trade. Make sure
of this to avoid using items.
- You can not sleep in castles, so make mental spots of good sleeping
spots outside castles.
- You do not need to kill the knights in the castles, you can easily
run past them and save your arrows.
- In castles walk around as little as possible to save stamina. It is
alright to leave a castle, sleep, and re-enter.
- An easy way to regain stamina is to sleep where there are only two
paths: in front of you and behind you. This makes sleeping easier
because enemies can only come from two ways, if they come from the front
kill them and go back to sleep but if they come from behind just walk a
little bit forward after waking up and then go back to sleep.
- If you don't want to waste arrows on random encounters simply run
backwards or go in a different direction from the enemy, and move back
to where you were and the enemy should be gone.
- If you don't want to waste arrows and you are in a castle just run
into the enemies to kill them, or let them hit you, for some odd reason a
bear can't bare to touch you. The enemies will just crumble to dust.
- A lot of the people that you can trade with, you can actually kill to get
their item, and it doesn't matter if you kill any character in the game,
as long as you get the item first. I mention a lot of treasure to pick
up in the game, but that's because you don't have to go that much out of the
way to get it, so if you want to just do your own thing, that's fine, but
I wrote an FAQ the way I beat the game.
- Have fun! This is a simple game with the use of an FAQ . . . hopefully.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.4 - Item information
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items have seven characteristics: Quantity, Weight, Total Weight, Value,
Total value, Nutrition, and Mystic
Quantity - The number of that item you possess.
Weight - The weight of one individual item.
Total Weight - The total weight of the entire quantity of that item.
Value - The value of one idividual item.
Total Value - The total value of the entire quantity of that item.
Nutritition - The nutritional value of an item, or how many hitpoints
you will get back if you use/eat that item
Mystic - The magical quality of that item, or how much damage that
item does if it's a fire powder.
There are several items in this game but the main ones are weapons, food,
potions, and money. They all do the obvious. You'll also find items
which you need to progress. Maybe in a later version of this FAQ I will
put an item list up, but as of now I will just tell you when and where to find
them and use them. It should be fine now.

III. Walkthrough
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
++++++++ If you haven't already, please read the "Basic Things To Know" section
to understand some simple things to make the game much easier +++++++++++++++++
*******************************************************************************
3.1 FalconWood
*******************************************************************************
You start out in the tower you fell asleep in. Grab the key and open the door
facing northwest. Leave through that door. You are now in Falconwoods.
They are pretty straight forward. Begin by going northeast and grabbing every
item along the way. You should get some arrows, daggers, apples, cherries, and
a gold coin. You will finish your loop on the screen with the three items:
the dagger, apple, and quiver of arrows. If you want to, turn and face the
knight and sleep to regain stamina, he won't attack you unless you attack
first. After you regain your stamina continue southwest. Kill the
archer, pick up any spoils he may drop and continue northwest. At the
thee way intersection face north and then kill the next.
archer and pick up any more spoils. Walk southwest and talk to the kind lady
Maladina and receive 6 keys. You may need to talk to her twice to obtain them.
Then go back northeast. From where you killed the last archer move north.
Sleep if you need to beside the nice knight, then kill him to get the
book page. Ignore the west and southwest passages. Continue northeast, pick
up the apple. At the fork you have the choice to go north or northeast.
Choose northeast. It's linear. You'll kill a troll, pick up a potion, kill
another troll, pick up some arrows, pick up an apple, then be bombarbed by a
7 way intersection. Go east first, then northeast and you'll kill a third troll
and pick up a torch behind him. Move back to the intersection. Go southwest,
get some arrows, move northeast back to the intersection, go northwest and talk
to the old green man to get the blue gem. Sleep if needed. Move southeast
back to the intersection. Continue northeast and get the silver bar, then
return to the intersection. Continue west to pick up a dagger and then talk to
Elidor and remember what he says. There's a knight with 61HP who guards an
item you need to beat the game.
*******************************************************************************
3.2 Eldon Mines
*******************************************************************************
Coming from Falconwood you will begin in the southeast corner. It will start
to get dark so don't be afraid to use a torch or two. Begin by heading north
and picking up a torch and some arrows. Move south until one screen to get
to the three way intersection. Move west, kill the wolf, northwest, east, get
the torch, northeast, kill the enemy, north, sleep by the knight if you need to,
kill him, pick up the large flask. It's a pretty good healing item. Then move
south west. Now you should be at a threeway intersection. Move north and pick
up some rope. Move back south. Move northwest at the three way intersection.
Then go south, pick up the key, then you should be at a 2 way intersection.
Move west, north, get the gold bar, west, south, sleep by the old man and trade
him your silver bar for his key, move back north, east, south, then southeast
picking up some arrows. Continue southeast until you see the wolf skeleton.
Then move east and south to where you started. From there move all the west
picking up two apples and some daggers. Then northwest and south, picking up
a green potion. After the potion you should see an old man. Sleep if you
need to. Then wait until he asks about trading for his lamp. After he
does kill him and take the lamp instead of wasting 75 gold. Alright, time
for the catacombs. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE ROPE BEFORE YOU ENTER THE
CATACOMBS. Okay.
*******************************************************************************
3.3 Catacombs
*******************************************************************************
As soon as you enter face west and use the rope on the wall. The catacombs
are massive, and we will come back later to explore and get items and whatnot.
First off, move south east, get the key, then stop at the three way
intersection. From there move east. I'm not going to explain which way to go
because it's very linear. You have one chance to get lost by going south at
the first three way intersection. Don't go south. So go east, all the way
into the east. You should pick up a Talisman and an apple. Then at the second
three way intersection move south, pick up a dagger, and eventually you'll end
up at another three way intersection. From here move west, then another three
way intersection, move north, kill the troll thing, another three way
intersection, face north, pick up the key, and go back to Eldon Mines. To get
back move southeast, south, east, northeast, follow the path north, follow
the path west, then you should be at Eldon Mines. Simple enough?
*******************************************************************************
3.4 Eldon Mines Revisited
*******************************************************************************
Follow the linear path until you get to the three way intersection. From there
Go northwest, kill the wolf, continue, pick up a book page, and then turn north
west at three way intersection. Pick up some bread. At the next intersection
turn west and talk to the girl, give her your green potion for her keys. Then
move north, talk to the short fellow, sleep if needed, you should already have
his heavy key, if not trade him your silver bar, and you can either kill him
to save time or walk around him. I killed him to save time. After you get to
the other side of him move northeast all the way killing a wolf. Then you
should pick up a silver coin, continue northeast, sleep by the knight, then
kill him, then go into the awesome first castle.
*******************************************************************************
3.5 Drakehurst Castle
*******************************************************************************
Run past the knight and use your key with the loop on the left side to open the
door. Just go through all your keys until one works. Move south and go
through the next door. Get the apple. Go through the north door using the
keys with the red jewel thing in the loop. Run east until you get to another
big room. Go south. Enter the door to the west. You should be in another big
room. Just move west and enter the room. There is a nice treasure here but
watch out for the blade trap above your head. After you get the treasure leave.
Go back to the big room, move south, enter the southeast door. Go east through
another door. Run west and watch out for the skeleton archer. In the next room
there will be a trap on the floor IT IS NOT A SILVER COIN SO DO NOT TRY AND PICK
IT UP. If you do you will only get hit numerous times. Use your key on the door
and press up to enter it. In the next room there will be a skeleton archer.
Then after him there is a big room with nothing but a chandelier trap. I have no
idea how to avoid it, so just run as fast as you can. In the next room there
is a knight and some arrows. Get the arrows and run. The next room has some
more arrows. The next room is the boss room. This is relatively easy. Charge
your bow twice to kill the knight then two more times to kill the wizard. You
have to wait until the wizard comes down so that you can hit him with your bow.
After they are dead use the large gold key (11 oz 55 val) to open the next door
and claim your reward. Three powders of fire. Watch out for the falling blade
trap above your head and then leave the dungeon. To leave run west all the way
until you come out of a door from north. Then go east one room. Then north one
room. Then west one room. You should now be in a big room. Move north then east.
Then North in the next big room. Then west. Go west until you can't go west
anymore. Then go south, west again, north, west again. And you should be back
at the Eldon Mines. By this time in the game I didn't need to use torches
on Eldon Mines because it's a fairly simple map, so I just recommend being
careful and saving torches and lamps for the catacombs and other places in the
game.
*******************************************************************************
3.6 Eldon Mines Revisited
*******************************************************************************
The first thing I did when I got out of the castle was run to the girl and
sleep to regain stamina. I ran out of stamina in the castle and ate all my
apples. But anyway, to get back to Amnore go southwest all the way then
south all the way. You may want to sleep a little before you get to her just
enough to have stamina to make it to her. Our next path is to FalconWood.
Remember that knight that has 61 HP? No problem now. To get back to
FalconWood simply go southeast, east, southeast, and east and take the
southeast exit.
*******************************************************************************
3.7 FalconWood Revisited
*******************************************************************************
Head east to the ever-so-popular 7 way intersection. From there go east more,
then south, then southwest to the 4 way intersection, then south, southeast,
northeast, and there he is. This is really easy. Remember the powder of fire
you got? Go to your inventory screen and select the blue powder of fire. Use
that on him just like you would an arrow, but be careful not to use the other
two powders. After you throw the first powder at him, go to your inventory
screen, select your bow, and use one arrow on him to finish him. Go behind
him and in the second circle you come to you should spin around until you find
a large gem. Pick up the large gem and return to the tower. To get to the
tower move west from the gem spot, then south, then east, then southeast
will bring you to the tower. Now let's make our way back to the catacombs.
Leave the tower, then move west, southwest, northwest, north, northeast, north,
and all the way west. Then enter the eldon mines and just follow the path
to the west.
*******************************************************************************
3.8 Catacombs Revisited
*******************************************************************************
I will give decent directions on where to go, but I recommend the usage of the
maps that are posted on GameFAQs. Furthermore, are you ready to fight
the strongest enemy in the game? Good. Make sure you have the two other
powders of fire as you will need them to fight Balatar. I did a little bit of
treasure hunting and got some extra items. If you go the south path you get
a lantern, then at the 3 way intersection move east, and south at the next
3 way intersection, then southwest, all the way you will find a talisman
that you can trade. From there head northeast, then north, then west, then
back to the entrance, from the entrance move east until the intersection,
then go south, and follow the path west, then northwest at the intersection,
then southwest, then follow the path around until you find a monster that is
rather easy, he dies in 3 arrows, then get the powder of fire and leave that
tiny maze. Once you are back at the first intersection move southeast, then
south, then follow the path to the 4 way intersection where you will move south,
then southwest, pick up the arrows, then back to 4 way intersection by northeast
then north and move east at the 4 way intersection, use that blue gem you got it
FalconWood on the gem panel. Sleep by the monster if you need to, then go crazy
with either arrows or daggers, he has 21 HP. After you kill him you will be
inside the hidden path. Move northwest, get an apple, back up southeast now.
There is a scroll that is farther down if you want it, but all it says is
Zaman is the key, so if you want to skip it go ahead, once at the beginning of
the hidden path go northeast, getting a flask, a silver coin, and another apple
then go back to the beginning again. From the beginning move north, get the
powder of fire, follow the path until you get to a 3 way intersection then move
west and follow that path until you get to a 4 way intersection, from there
move east and follow that path until you get to the boss. By now you
should have 4 powders of fire. You will use a red and green on the boss. This
is really easy, easier than the 21 hp guy. All you do is, sleep beside him
if you need to first, then use a red powder on him, go to your inventory screen,
select the green powder, use that on him, go to your inventory screen, select
the arrows, and hit him with 8 arrows and he should die fast. Go behind
him to the southwest area and get a large gem and now you are half way to
returning to Wales! This is probably the lamest part of the game, leaving
the catacombs. You have gotten everything you need from here unless you want
some daggers and some bread, but that is alright by me. To leave, from the
large gem spot, move northeast, northwest, south, west, southwest, follow the
path until you reach a 3 way intersection, move south, follow that path south
until you reach the end of the hidden path, you can tell you are there by
the dead enemy skeleton. Then move west, south at the intersection, then
follow the path to the southwest, then it should turn to face the north,
at the 3 way intersection move northwest, and if you follow that path you should
end up at the Eldon mines. From there, take the east path back to FalconWood.
From FalconWood move east all the way past the 7 way intersection, then south,
then southwest, then south, southeast, northeast, then east, then southeast
into the tower. Use the large gems you have on the doors until they both fit,
you'll figure it out. The gems should be in the southeast and northwest doors
Now, you should have a heavy key of 10 oz, and value of 50, and a 38 mystic
value, hinting that it's a special key. Use it on the door facing northeast and
the game continues. Fernholt waits!
*******************************************************************************
3.9 Fernholt
*******************************************************************************
The rest of the game from here is on relatively simple now that we've looted
the catacombs. Sleep beside Isenhart if you didn't already inside the tower.
Then follow the north path picking up some nuts and some keys. Then kill
the guy blocking your path. Sleep beside him if you need to. Move east all
the way until you get a gold bar. Go back to the two way intersection
and move southeast. At the threeway intersection move west and kill the archer
to get some arrows. Then follow the south path all the way until you get to the
four way intersection. From there move west to kill the archer and get some
more arrows, then east to kill the knight and get some stuff. Then north,
sleep beside the knight if you need to, then kill him, move southeast, get the
book page, move back northwest, then east, kill the next knight, move behind
him to get the rope and a lantern. Then go south, west, north, pick up the
nuts, face northeast and kill that knight, move behind him to get the powder
of fire, then move back southwest, then east, then northeast, get the keys,
move north to the old man. Wait until he asks about trading for his
amulet, then kill him and take it. Then head on into Burville Castle.
*******************************************************************************
3.10 Burville Castle
*******************************************************************************
Make sure upon entering the castle that you have a small gold key 6 oz and
35 value, because you need it to beat the game. If you didn't pick it up it's
in the catacombs. Making sure you have that ignore the northern most door
for now. Select the silver key with the intricately designed quadcircle loop.
2 oz 6 value. Move through the southeast door. Pick up the flask and reselect
your silver key. Kind of just man through the bowman unless you want to kill
him, I was running low on arrows so I just ignored every enemy inside the
castle. Move east through the next door. Run east fast to avoid getting hit
and open the door then go through it. Then move west fast to avoid the bowman
hitting you. Then ignore the northern door for now. Move west, run through the
next room as fast as possible and you should take little or no damage. Then move
northwest and open the next door. In the next room there are two dropping
pillars. If you want, run and get the apple, I did. Then open the door with the
small gold key you found in Fernholt. After moving through that door ignore the
knight and get the key. Then make your way back to the entrance. At this point
I was running low on stamina but I was able to make it back to entrance without
losing all of it, thus I was able to sleep outside of the castle. But back on
track, to get back to the entrance go east, east, south then east, east, north,
north, north, north, yes north four times. Then exit west and sleep, go back
into the castle and use your new key on the north door. Before going into the
next room reselect your silver keys. Then go in, run to the center, open the
door, go in the next room, run south, pick up the keys, run back north, open
the door, duck to avoid getting hit by the bowman, then run west open the door
and leave. Then run east past the knight. Then north, go in the next room,
and this next room is a wee bit tricky. Open the door first, then pick up the
key and run into the next room, or you could just jump to avoid getting hit by
the bowman. Then in the next room you should probably go south, open that door
with small gold key you got earlier, go into the dungeon, try and sleep using
the tricks I spoke of in Basic Things to Know. Then go back into dungeon, go
back to the last large room you were in, open the northeast door, run past the
knight, open the door using the small gold key I mentioned at the beginning
of this section, then kill the wizard and bowman and pick up the gold bar and
large gem. Then go back to Burville Dungeon.
*******************************************************************************
3.11 Burville Dungeon
*******************************************************************************
It was a pain to recover here. I ate my nuts, used a lamp, and then tried to
sleep using my sleeping tricks listed above. You can not sleep by the
barbarian, it won't work. So kill him and try to sleep. Then heal if you need
to. Actually, if you want to walk all the way northwest there is a knight
you can sleep beside. That would make things much easier.
I recommend not using a lamp if you want to, because there is a torch
not to far away from the entrance. Pick up the large flask, key, and torch.
At the end of the northeast passage there is a knight, you can sleep beside
him if you need to, if not kill him and get a potion. Once again, I was
running out of arrows, so I had to go west and follow that passage, moving
northwest at the fourway intersection to get some more arrows. This made my
Burville Dungeon experience longer than it should have been, but oh well. If
you're low on arrows I recommend going this way, and also not killing the
knight that drops the potion yet simply because you can sleep beside him later.
Alright, after you pick up the arrows move back southeast, talk to Isolde,
she'll tell you something stupid, sleep beside him and he should disappear,
and then go get the key behind him. Then move back northwest all the way.
Follow the path south all the way, picking up a book page, and then you
should find a prisoner. He wants to trade for his apples, I killed him and
just took them. For some odd reason it would not let me sleep beside the
prisoner, so don't try it. After you kill him and get his apple, move east
all the way, then go northwest, kill the barbarian, face east and talk
to the knight, wait until he offers his dagger, then kill him. I used
3 knives and an arrow if you were curious. There's nothing behind him,
so go northwest and get the talisman, then back southeast, then
northeast, follow that path, kill the barbarian, get the bread and the flask,
and follow the path to where either you left the knight standing or killed him.
Then follow the path west to the four way intersection. At the circle
before the intersection there is a torch, make sure to get it. If you
face northwest you will see it. Then at the intersection move north and
go to the Catacombs. Make sure you have a rope before going in the
Catacombs. Once in the Catacombs, use the rope on the east wall, then follow
the west path. Don't go straight south and you'll be fine until you get to
Eldon Mines. From Eldon Mines follow the same path east to get back to
FalconWood. From FalconWood go east all the way, then south, southwest,
south, southeast, northeast, then east, then southeast into the tower.
If you want to, you can use a torch to find your back, but I didn't
just pay attention to the compass and use the maps. Or, if my
instructions are as really as good as I think they are, you don't even need
to use the map. Once inside the tower, use the large gem you should have on
the northeast door. Then use the Heavy Key with the loop on the right side
on the southwest door. Prepare for RuneWood.
*******************************************************************************
3.12 RuneWood
*******************************************************************************
Congratulations, you are now half way through a game most people didn't play
long enough to get to start the game. Furthermore, from the tower, follow the
path northwest. You should pick up two sets of arrows and kill some enemies,
then after you go east there is a three way intersection. Move north, kill
that guy after he asks to trade for his powder, pick it up, move south, move
west at the next intersection to sleep, don't waste arrows on that guy, plus
he's a good place to sleep at. Then go back east, follow that path northeast,
you should pick up a flask, then end up at a 6 way intersection. Move north,
there's Grimlock, wait for him to ask about trading for his potion, then kill
him before he transforms into a car and runs away, then go back to the
intersection, go east, kill that knight, go behind him and get the powder of
fire, then go back to the intersection, go south, kill that knight, be careful
because he has 16HP, then pick up the book page, then go back to the
intersection, then go southeast, take the northeast passage, kill one archer
and get some arrows, then continue until you kill a second archer and get some
more arrows, then go back south, move south at the three way intersection,
kill one more archer and get some more arrows, then take the west path until
you get to a four way intersection, then face south, kill that crazy looking
monster, go behind him, get the apple, then move west until you get to the
three way intersection, move north, get the green berries, move back to the
three way intersection, kill Edric the Brave, he has 11HP, so use daggers or
arrows, it doesn't matter, just kill him. Then move into StoneRidge Cave.
*******************************************************************************
3.13 StoneRidge Cave
*******************************************************************************
Once in StoneRidge Cave move south, get the bread, kill the enemies that
block your path. At the threeway intersection move east, then south, pick up
a flask, then continue the path, kill the enemies in your way, pick up the rope.
Continue moving in the same path, kill the enemies in your way, pick up the
powder of fire, move northeast, pick up the dagger, at the three way
intersection move northeast, kill the enemies, pick up the key, move back
southwest to the intersection, move southeast, kill the monsters, at the next
three way intersection move northeast, follow the path, at the three way
intersection move west, kill the enemies, before moving southwest, pick up the
torch, move southwest, kill the enemies, pick up the apple and lantern, move
northeast back to the three way intersection, move northwest, for some odd
reason that knight guarding BlackStone Castle offers to trade with you, so
don't kill him until he offers a trade. Then kill him, pick up the potion,
and daggers, turn and face northwest and pick up the flask, move southeast,
there should be three ways to go, face the girl southwest, talk to her, get
the keys from her, do not kill her for her cherries, instead leave her as a
sleep spot, then turn west and kill that knight, after you kill him go west
and get the flask, bread, and bookpage, but don't go to the catacombs yet,
instead go back to the BlakeStone Castle.
*******************************************************************************
3.14 Blakestone Castle
*******************************************************************************
For some odd reason there are falling rocks in this castle, but I'll tell
you where they are, so don't worry. Upon entering BlakeStone Caslte make sure
you have the keys Leona gave you, and make sure you have a Small Gold Key (5 oz
and 25 value), you need both of these to beat the game. Okay, see those
green berries in the first room? There's a falling rock waiting for you if you
want to grab these, so just creep your way one step at a time before getting
them, that's generally how you avoid the falling rocks. Back on track, you may
need to leave the dungeon periodically to sleep, use your best judgement, if
you've noticed you've lost about half of your stamina, you might want to leave,
go to our friend Leona and sleep, and then reenter the dungeon. But anyway,
focusing on the problem at hand, BlakeStone Castle. After getting the green
berries, move north, use the light key with the loop with the big hole in it,
then go through the door, in the next room there is no reason for moving south,
so just use the same key on the north door and go through it again. In the
next room ignore the knight, just run past him, and then in the room you might
want to kill the archer, then pick up the gold ring, then in the next room have
your bow ready, charge it, and fire the lancer before he hits you. Then you
should enter a large room, use your open hole loop light key on the east door,
run past another kinight, then in the next room, run past another knight, and
pick up the scroll. Read it later, because you need to conserve stamina. It
either tells you that you should sleep by friends and not in castles, but
my hint about sleeping beside enemies works better, or it might tell you, "A
gem placed high above a door will hasten your departure ..." I'm not sure
which message it gets because I read both scrolls later. Furthermore, continue
on to the next room, in that large room use your small gold key of 5 oz and
25 value to go into the east room and get a key. Then leave, go north, in
the next room you can kill the enemies if you want, I saved my arrows and
just ran past them, then in the next room I killed the bowman and got the ring
and bar, then in the next room is the wizard and lancer, so charge and hit the
lancer then wait for the wizard to get low to hit him, you should know how to
kill a wizard by now. Then use another light key on the door. The next room
should be a large room, move west all the way then south to avoid traps, then
use your small gold key to open the door, go into the room, get the arrows and
a heavy key. Now you should backtrack, it's very linear, move east, be careful
not to hit the trap, move north then north through the door, then east all the
way until you get to another large room, then go west for a while until you get
to another large room, then north and east all the way until another large room
then, if you want three healing items that heal a total of 175 HP, use your
large gold key (10 oz 45 value) on the east door, move all the way to east, run
south, get the key, run back north, move west, then, before you get your healing
items, leave the dungeon by moving west another screen, then south and go sleep
by Leona, then go back in the dungeon. From the entrance, move north, north,
west, west, west again, then move to the west wall in the large room, then
south to avoid a falling rock, then west into the next room using your new small
gold key of 5 oz and 25 value, then in the next room, run west, pick up the
three items, try and avoid the spike trap as much as possible, then run back.
After you left the treasure room, move north, then east all the way until
you end up in the large room, then west, and you should be in the first room,
then leave by going through the southeast entrance. Then go back to Leona,
sleep, then move west and go to the Catacombs. Once in the Catacombs, face
south, use the rope you should have, then move northeast, at the intersection
go north, and just follow that path, DO NOT turn east when you have the
chances, go either north, northwest, or northeast until you get to the Eldon
Mines, then from the mines take the north and east path back to FalconWood,
then get to the tower by running all the way east, then south, southwest,
south, southeast, northeast, east, and southeast. Now, my friend, you are
back to the tower. In the tower use the heavy key on the last locked door.
Into BinnanWood now you travel - the domain of Lord Cullen .... I just love
the story to this game.
*******************************************************************************
3.15 BinnanWood
*******************************************************************************
Once in BinnanWood move east, kill the enemy, move northeast at the
intersection and face north and get the powder of fire, then move southeast,
then southwest, face north, sleep by that guy if you want, then kill him, get
the item he drops, move back northwest, then east at the intersection, kill
that enemy thing, then talk to the guy, sleep beside him if you want to, then
go south, get the cherries, get the flask, then at the end turn northwest,
kill Hagen, pick up the key he drops, then move back north, then west, then
northwest, then southwest, then west and you should be back at the entrance,
then move south, pick up the red berries, then at the threeway intersection,
move east, face southeast, talk to Gilan, get the keys, wait until he asks to
trade, kill him, get the scroll he drops, then move west, then at the
intersection move southwest, then southeast, pick up the bookpage and the
arrows, then northeast, talk to Elize and sleep beside her if you want, then
once you're done sleeping, wake up and pull a Grand Theft Auto on her. By that
I mean kill her and take her possessions, then head south, pick up the daggers,
then west, kill the enemies in your way, then face south and get the quiver of
arrows, then prepare for Cullen Dungeon.
*******************************************************************************
3.16 Cullen Dungeon
*******************************************************************************
At this point I was running extremely low on arrows, so I will tell you what
you SHOULD do. If you want to know all the possible things, wander around
and look at a map, but I want to get back to Wales. Ok, move east, pick up the
daggers, kill the enemy, keep on, pick up the torch, move northeast, kill that
enemy. Move northwest, face west, wait until that guy offers a trade, kill him
and take his powder of fire. If you are using the maps that benevolent
Starion offers, you will notice a quiver of arrows to the north, there is
only ONE STUPID ARROW, so don't bother as you will waste more ammunition trying
to get it. Instead, from the guy you killed to get the powder of fire, walk
southeast, then east, then when you are at the screen where you can only go
west or northeast, face north and you should see a level panel. Use the lever
you got from killing some enemy on that and go into the hidden path. In there
you will see Marjodoc, some evil knight or something, kill him using a low
level powder of fire or knives or whatever, take the book page he drops and
the knives, then leave. Back in the room with the lever panel, move northeast,
then move northwest at the next three way intersection, picking up a flask, and
bread as you go, then kill the green monster, then continue the path, picking
up some rope, then move south at the threeway intersection, kill the weird
white monster, then southeast, pick up a key, and sleep by the knight, then
kill him. Prepare for the final dungeon: Cullen Castle
*******************************************************************************
3.17 Cullen Castle
*******************************************************************************
This is the easiest castle in the game. You should have a lot of healing
items. Don't be afraid to let an enemy touch you, crumble to dust, then heal
if you need to, because I had about two arrows by the time I got here. But
anyway, in the first room, notice how there are two doors you can choose?
Choose the north door and select the large key (11 oz 55 value) dropped by
that Hagen fellow, there will be a lot of treasure in the next three rooms.
No traps, enemies, or anything, just 4 treasure items, some bread, and the
last large gem! Then, leave, go back to the first room, go into the room on
the west using the silver keys (4 oz 7 value) You should find some arrows, pick
them up, and before you move reselect the silver keys, run to the door, quickly
open them, move west, OOHH a bear, he's really weak, he'll run into you, die
then you can go west again, pick up some more arrows, and get out of the
dungeon. To get out, run east to the room with the two knights, then north,
then just east. You should be back in Cullen Dungeon now. From Cullen Dungeon
you should go to the Catacombs by going northwest, north, west, south,
southeast for a while, then east at the three way intersection, then north at
the fourway intersection, then northeast, kill the enemy, then go into the
Catacombs. It doesn't even matter if you have the rope, because now, unless
you want to do the superfun sidequests, you can just go back to the tower and
beat the game. But, if you do have the rope, face west and use it. Then
go east, northwest, northeast, northwest, don't get dizzy as you're
frantically running to beat the game, north, northwest, north, northeast,
north, northwest, north, northwest, then follow the west/northwest/southwest
path avoiding going straight south until you get to the Eldon Mines. From
the Eldon Mines take the ole' north then east path out, then you'll be in
FalconWood, from there go east all the way, south, southwest, south,
southeast, northeast, east, and southeast into the tower. Use the
large gem on the last remaining empty slot, and watch the great ending.

IV. SideQuests
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*******************************************************************************
4.1 The Ultimate Weapon
*******************************************************************************
You really don't need this since you get so many powders
of fire and only use around four of them, but if you want it here's how to get
it. Remember how we collected all those book pages? After you get all eight
it should have made a book in your inventory. To get the weapon that does 255
damage, go back to Burville Castle, you can figure out how to get there, I'm
sure I told you somewhere in my walkthrough. Once in Burville Castle go east,
west, east, east, west, run north, go in the west door using a 2 oz 6 value
silver key, trade the old man your book and get the weapon. Have fun
killing an enemy with four HP with it.
*******************************************************************************
4.2 Cullen Castle
*******************************************************************************
Not really a SideQuest, but if you want more of this awesome
Side Scrolling Action Adventure this is the last place to get it! This
castle is also very linear. From the entrance, move west, then go west for
a while killing enemies and picking up treasure. There is absolutely nothing
in the room west of the first large room, but you can go in there and jump
around. Personally, I was amazed a history lecturer could do crazy flips.
Anyway, move north, kill a few enemies, move east, kill some more, get the
powder of fire, you don't really need it, but just get it. Then the next
three rooms are completely empty, go in them if your heart truly desires.
Then go back to the room with the two guards, to get there go west until
you get to the large room, then go east for a while. Once in the room with
the two guards, go east killing enemies and picking up apple and bread.
Once again, the room to the east of the large room is empty, so go north.
Then go west, kill enemies, go west, pick up a potion, then go west again,
then go east, kill the enemies, kill the last wizard in the game, go east
and get the last bit of treasure, a lamp, unless you want to run around the
Catacombs and get the powder of fire I didn't mention. You can find that
on your own.
