           UPDATES
    ======================
Version 0.09:        In this version, I finished the Treasure Sword
Shrine, and fixed the walkthroughs layout overall
by seperating large blocks of text into paragraphs so it's more readable.
Oh yeah.. I lost the Boss HP list, so if you're reading this Phoenix, can
you email me the list again? Eh heh... Thanks. Version 0.1 will be up ASAP.

Version 0.08:        Added boss HP, thanks to Phoenix1911. He also
submitted a boss strategy, which will be shown
when I reach the boss he wrote a strategy for.

Version 0.07:        This guide can now be found at GameFAQs :)
Anyways, I have now completed up to Parcelyte, added
Appendix A-Shop Listings (From Elcid to Bound Kingdom so far), fixed the
puzzles, and hope to update more often now that this can be found on GameFAQs.
Also, please rate my guide as a helpful one at GameFAQs ;) lol... No really,
do that. o.O;

Version 0.05:        I completed up until the South East Tower,
and I would like it if someone could give me a list
of the bosses HP in this game. I also modified the entire guide so it would
look correct in .txt format. I re-did the ASCII art AGAIN. However, since
I switched to the font and whatnot for .txt format, I need to re-do some of
the puzzle maps so it doesn't look like I sprayed random X's, M's, O's and
B's around. Anyways, I plan on having version .01 ready in a day or two.

Version 0.02:        All I really did was make some better ASCII
art... Still looks shizzitty though o.O Well... By
tomorrow I should be completed up until Bound Kingdom, thus I will change
the version to Version .01. I'll submit this guide to GameFAQS when it reaches
Version .1337, which will be completed through the entire game, and then
version 1.337 will contain the addition of an Appendix, extras, Boss HP/EXP
in the Walkthrough itself, etc., if I can possibly do that much.

Version 0.01:   Set myself up some extremely dull, boring and
crappie ASCII art :p Completed the guide up until Alunze
Kingdom. In version .01, I should be completed up to around Bound Kingdom,
and have some more solid content to include for you. I also suddenly got the
idea to add what my characters equipment were before each
dungeon/tower/anything where you fight, just to give you an idea of what I
did. I will also try and keep you updated as to what Capsule Monster I am
using, it's Class, and whatnot jargons with mixed up words. So, please, sit
back, and enjoy version .001 of my guide :-D Which is basically this paragraph.
w00t.

    ======================
           1: ELCID
    ======================

The first thing you'll see of course, is the name input screen. For the sake
of this fact, I'll refer to the main character by his default name, Maxim.
After you input your name, you'll see the main character walking a bit to
a Shop. Inside you will meet... Tia. You and Tia will talk about the increase
of monsters, and how cheap they are (remember, your main character is a
'monster hunter'). After talking to Tia, head out of the Shop, and try and
leave town to the south. An old man will stop you, and tell you to meet at
the dungeon south of Elcid to show you his 'secret techniques'. Yay. Having
fun yet? I sure am *.* Anyways, head out of town and go to that little circular
stairway to the south, and you'll be in the SECRET SKILLS CAVE. Ooooh... Fancy
name eh?

Anyhow, walk up and talk to the old man. The first thing you'll learn about
is how monsters move in dungeons. Each time you move, they move. Listen to
the old man, he'll explain it better then I will.... Mainly because I'm to
lazy ;-) Anyhow, after he's done talking, walk up to that red thing moving
around to engage in battle with a ferocious Red Jelly. Anyways, just use
physical attacks against this little thing and it'll be dead in no time.

Now go on to the next room, where you'll learn about Skills. Some Skills items
can temporarily paralyze an enemy (for about 2-4 steps, depending on which
tool you use). Use an arrow on the Jelly to get a hang of using tools, since
they will be an integral part in your puzzle-solving skills later in the game.
After you get a hang of that, go ahead and attack the Red Jelly. Take him
out for the needed experience points.

Again, go on to the next room and the old man will tell of another ability
that your Skill Items can perform, which is flipping switches that have the
arm of the switch FACING where you are shooting an Arrow. So take a shot at
the switch with an Arrow to make the bridge passable, and then continue on
to the next room. After the old man is done talking, go step on the switch,
and watch the door magically open. Then get off the switch- but hey... the
door closed. That must mean your game is glitched then, cause that's not
supposed to happen... Oh well. Haha... Just kidding. Talk to the old man again
and he'll tell you how to simply solve this simply simple puzzle. As you go
onto the next room, the old man will give you the 'RESET' spell, which resets
all enemies and puzzles in the room, and brings you back to whence you entered
the room.

In the next room, just jump off the the ledge where the the little arrows
are pointing, and then just go onto the next room. In the next room, just
defeat all the enemies to open the door, and continue on to the final room.
In this room, the old man will teach you how to use another skill, your sword.
You can use your sword to cut vines on the walls, and cut those bushes that
block your way. So hack away until you get to the lone bush that has 4 white
tiles around it, cut it, and step on the switch. In the next room, just take
the vase and place it on the white tile to the left of the vase. USE THE
SHOULDER BUTTON (The R button) TO TURN! THIS IS A VITAL SKILL IN LUFIA 2 THAT
MANY PEOPLE OVERLOOK! The wall will open up now, so grab the other vase, and
set it on the other white tile... And voila. Done with this dungeon that
teaches you how to use skills, and other random things. Now head on back to
Elcid....

When you reach Elcid, head back to the Shop where you met Tia, and talk to
her. You'll agree to have dinner with her, and she'll cook up a tasteless
Phantom Fish, but Maxim of course will say it's not bad with lemon, and blah
blah blah. After dinner, head out of the shop, and the towns-people will
gather around to find that the Cave to Sundletan has been infested with
monsters, and the key is missing. This calls for Maxim The Monster Hunter
to do some monster slaying.

    ======================
     2: CAVE TO SUNDLETAN
    ======================

My Levels:
   Maxim - 5
My Equipment:
   Maxim -
Weapon: Rapier   - Armor: Cloth  - Shield: Small Shield

Before you enter the Cave to Sundletan, I would suggest that you head to the
area surrounding the cave (which is to the North of Elcid), and battle some
enemies, and get up to at about Level 5. Save your money as you are doing
this, but feel free to head back to Elcid to rest up at the Inn (Tip: If you
do not have enough money to stay at any Inn, you will be allowed to stay for
free, so don't worry). When you have enough Gold, go to the Shop in Elcid
and pick the following equipment up for Maxim, to guarantee success in the
Cave to Sundletan:  Rapier (100 Gold) and Small Shield (100 Gold). After you
have done all that, head into the Cave to Sundletan.

The man standing at the door to the cave will tell you that a woman went in,
and he didn't stop her because he 'felt he shouldn't'. Well anyways, go in
and defeat that dumb lizard standing in your way, then go through the door
in the North East corner of the room. Clear the room of enemies, then go
through the door to the East first. Cut the bushes and open the chest for
an Escape item.

Now go back into the room you were just in, and solve the mini-puzzle. Take
one of the pots, and set it on the south most tile from the switch, then grab
an other pot and pivot to the north (Anytime I say pivot, it means to use
the shoulder button R to turn around), and place the pot on the switch. Turn
around and pick up the other pot and go over the now retracted spikes, and
place the pot on the switch to open the door above you. Pick up the other
pot that is obstructing your path, and go into the room to pick up a Life
Potion. Use it on Maxim to increase his maximum HP by a few points.

Now go back into the first room, and cut the bush to the south of where you
just entered the room, and step on the switch. When you enter the room, you'll
notice a 'stray' chest. Go to the third row of bushes from the entrance you
came in through, and cut them horizontally, and then walk to the west to enter
that area, and pick up an Antidote. Now go into the next room, and ignore
the door to the east. You can't do anything in that room until later in the
game, so make a note of it, and I'll tell you when to return here. Cut the
bush a little to the upper right of where you entered, and place one of the
pots on the switch, and go into the door that opened.

In this room, you will see some blocks. Just move the blocks around until
you have access to the stair case (and after fighting the enemies for some
EXP). Go down the stairs, BUT DO NOT JUMP OFF WHERE THE ARROWS ARE. Yet. Go
south and open the chest for a Power Potion, and use that on Maxim as well
to increase his STR. Now go to the east of the chest, and hit the red switch
with your sword to make it turn blue. Jump down from the ledge, and cross
the bridge. Don't go down the stairs you see just yet. Go down to that little
crevice below it, and walk into the middle of the west wall of it, and walk
to a different set of stairs. Go down the stairs to pick up the Hide Armor,
and Magic Jar. Equip Maxim with the Hide Armor, and then go back up the stairs.
Go back to the other staircase, and go down the stairs now. Heal and save
on the 3 tiles, and then go up the stairs to meet your first 'Boss' of the
game, Lizard Man.

        +--------------------------------+
        |       BOSS: Lizard Man         |
        |         HP: 80                 |
        +--------------------------------+

My Levels:
   Maxim - 6
My Equipment:
   Maxim -
Weapon: Rapier   - Armor: Hide Armor  - Shield: Small Shield

I don't really consider this a 'Boss' since he is a regular enemy later in
the game. Anyways, I'd suggest that you be on about Level 6 so you don't get
pummeled by the Lizard Man. If you didn't use any Potions throughout the cave,
you will have more then enough Potions to heal yourself. All you can use
against this guy is normal physical attacks, so do so, and heal if you get
below 25 HP (On Level 6 I never got below 30 HP, and wiped him out without
healing once). This battle should not be a pushover if you are about Level
5 or 6, and have the Hide Armor.

After the battle is over, Maxim will get the key to the door, and think about
how a Lizard Man should not be smart enough to steal the key from humans,
and that monsters get nothing from disrupting human life. Then a lady with
green hair will show up, and tell Maxim why monsters are becoming smarter,
and that he is destined to fight. She will then reveal her name as Iris. After
the little discussion, go heal and save real quick in the room before the
one you were just in. You can choose to use the Escape item you found earlier,
or just walk out of the cave back to the entrance. This time go completely
straight at the entrance to reach the locked door that leads to Sundletan.

    ======================
         3: SUNDLETAN
    ======================

Go to the north-east a little bit to reach Sundletan. When you enter town,
an earthquake will take place, and Maxim will aimlessly run around in a ...
square. Anyways, mingle with the town folk to gather the information, and
discover that a crazy old man thinks a gigantic catfish is causing the
earthquakes. What a fool, don't you think? Anyways, go outside and level up
to about Level 7,8 or 9, depending on if you want the chance to receive an
item in the next cave. So for the sake of this, I'll get up to Level 9. While
you're leveling up, you should also have obtained enough Gold to purchase
the following items for Maxim:  Battle Knife (IP: ThunderBlast; 200 Gold)
AND Dagger (400 Gold), and a Cap (240 Gold). For now, equip Maxim with the
Dagger, but keep the Battle Knife in your inventory, for use against the next
boss. I'd also suggest that you head to the spell shop in this town, and
purchase the spell, Strong. This spell costs a measly 3 MP, and restores HP
in and out of battle. Very useful eh?

After leveling up a bit, go ahead and go into the Lake Cave.

    ======================
        4: LAKE CAVE
    ======================

My Levels:
   Maxim - 9
My Equipment:
   Maxim -
Weapon: Dagger   - Armor: Hide Armor  - Shield: Small Shield

When you first enter the Lake Cave, you'll notice 3 square bridge pieces.
Leave them there for now, and hit that switch that you see with an Arrow.
The water will rise, so now you can form a bridge across using those 3 bridge
pieces. Go to the other side, and continue on into the next room. Go into
the room to the north, and carefully take note of the order that you kill
the 3 enemies in this room. I seem to be fond of just going in this order:
Beetle, Eagle, Frog. After you defeat the 3 enemies, the wall by the spikes
in the north part of the room will reveal the 3 enemies. Use your Arrows to
his them in the order you defeated them to open the Eastern door.

Go down the stairway, and follow the passage way to pick up the Insect Crush
for Maxim. Equip this on Maxim since most of the enemies in this cave are
insects/bugs, the Insect Crush will do even more damage to them, and its IP,
Bomb Attack, is very useful.

Head back to the room with the 3 enemies, and go into the southern door to
heal up, then go back to the first room, and enter the door to the West. In
this room, don't stand on any of the cracks just yet. Go through the door,
and then down the stairs.  Don't go down the other stair well into the area
with the one Eagle and a white tile yet. Go around it and into the south door
to pick up a Power Potion. Use this on Maxim now.

Now go out of that room, and enter the room to the North-East. You'll see
2 pillars in this room, with switches under them, and a 'hidden' switch in
the upper left hand corner of them. Push the southern pillar up one square
to open the East door, and go in there. In the one door way in here, there
is a TON of enemies, with a chest at the back containing a Speedy Ring, which
is EXTREMELY useful. So if you have enough HP, and the Insect Crush, you should
be able to walk over the enemies in there. Grab the Speedy Ring, and equip
it on Maxim. See that chest behind the one you just opened? It contains a
Miracle which revives a character and restores all HP and MP. To get it, go
outside of that long passage, and go to the East of it. Cut all the bushes
until you get to the Northern part of the room, then cut the bush in the upper
left hand corner, and walkthrough the wall to pick it up.

Head back to the room with the 2 pillars, and push the one on the West side
down, and the one on the East side to where the other pillar was. Now go into
the south doorway. Push the block in the South-East corner in any direction
to reveal a stairway. Now onto a mini-puzzle. What you need to do is 'reverse'
the direction of the blocks that form an arrow. Push the block on the eastern
most part(Marked 1 on the solution) up a tile, and align it to the left with
the white tiles on the ground. Then move the western most block down one tile
(Marked 2 on the solution). Finally, move the southern most block (Marked
3 on the solution) to where the block marked 2 originally was.

X=Block
1,2,3=Blocks to be moved

Original:                 Solved:

2XXX1                        1
 XXX                        XXX
  3                        2XXX3

After solving that puzzle, go into the door that opened, and get the Lake
Key. Go back up the stairs, and all the way to the place where I told you
not to go down the stairs yet (where the Eagle and white tile is). Also, if
you must, go heal yourself at those healing tiles from earlier in the cave.
Then go into the West door in that spot, and save, then go back out and up
that stairs to the North and to where the cracks in the ground were. Step
on the South-West crack to fall onto one of the switches, opening the door
right above you. Go into there now. You'll now see 4 bridge pieces. Grab 3
and make a bridge to the switch, but don't flip it yet. Go over and grab the
4th bridge piece and just set it in the water to the east of the switch. Now
flip the switch, then go down the stairs and place the bridge piece in the
water to get across to the other stairs. Before you go into the boss room,
equip the Battle Knife I had you purchase earlier. It's IP will be VERY useful
in the coming boss battle. Now go through the northern door to fight the boss.

        +--------------------------------+
        |      BOSS: Big Catfish         |
        |        HP: 200                 |
        +--------------------------------+

My Levels:
   Maxim - 10
My Equipment:
   Maxim -
         - Weapon: Battle Knife   - Armor: Hide Armor  - Shield: Small Shield
- Ring: Speedy Ring

The Catfish will rise of the water, and insult Maxim. Maxim will then discover
that the Catfish is creating the earthquakes in Sundletan, proving that that
crazy old man was right. Well you can't let him insult you now can you? When
you enter this battle, you should use the Battle Knifes IP right away to take
off a good amount of the Catfish's HP. Keep using it's IP until you can't
anymore, and when you can't use physical attacks. If he uses Mega Quake (which
will only take away about 20 HP if you're on about Level 10), you won't have
much to worry about. If you must, use the spell Strong to heal yourself.
Eventually the big fat fish will be your dinner, and you can go right on back
to Sundletan. Also, if you beat the Catfish in 3 turns, he may drop a Catfish
Jewel, which is also extremely useful. Unfortunately, I didn't get the
Catfish Jewel this time through, but it is possible. Oh well.

    ======================
     4: SUNDLETAN (AGAIN)
    ======================

Just heal up, and talk to the towns-folk again. They will tell you that a
woman has come looking for you, and went to the Lake Cave. So after healing
and saving, head back to the Lake Cave again.

    ======================
       4: LAKE CAVE
               - TIA
    ======================

Put the bridge together again in the first room, and then head North to the
room with the Beetle, Eagle and Frog puzzle. You'll hear someone scream, and
look to see Tia being attacked by a Skeleton and Goblin. Just take them down
with normal attacks, and then Tia will tell Maxim she just couldn't help
herself. Maxim will then explain to her about his destiny, and then as Tia
walks away, another Goblin attacks her. Beat it up, and then Tia will join
your party. w00t. Now you can hit on Tia whenever you want ;-) Haha... Just
kidding. Anyways, go back to Sundletan AGAIN... And purchase the following
equipment for Tia, along with a Strong spell at the spell shop: Whip (IP:
FlameAttack; 300 Gold), Headband (IP: Forgetful; 600 Gold). Now go outside
of Sundletan and level Tia's weak ass up about 2-3 levels. That way her low
HP will be decent for the next section of the game.

    ==========================
     5: CAPSULE MONSTER JELZE
    ==========================

After leveling Tia up a bit, go through the Shrine to Alunze Kingdom in the
North-West part of the world map. When you reach the other side of the
mountains, don't continue on to Alunze Kingdom yet. First go a bit West of
the Shrine that you just came out of, and look for the opening between the
mountains and sea. Go south-east and look for a tree that looks different
then all the others. Enter 'Foomy Woods', and then talk to the lady that is
there. Answer 'Yes' to her question, then walk up to the water. Capsule
Monster Foomy (named JELZE) will now join your party as a Capsule Monster.
Capsule Monsters cannot be controlled by you, and they cannot be healed or
actually 'killed' in battle. They always have max HP/MP/etc., after a battle,
even if they are KO'd in battle. Later in the game you will learn more about
Capsule Monsters, and their capabilities. However, from now on I strongly
suggest that you feed all your old equipment to your capsule monsters. You
will have less Gold this way, but it's the only way to make your Capsule
Monster 'grow' to a new Class. Classes are explained in the Appendix of this
FAQ/Walkthrough (the Appendix is not yet available).

    ======================
      6: ALUNZE KINGDOM
    ======================

You should first entre the town section of Alunze (Not the castle). When you
first enter Alunze, you should buy the following equipment:

Maxim - Short Sword (IP: IceAttack; 900 Gold), Cloth Armor (IP: Antidote;
600 Gold), Cloth Helmet (400 Gold), and a Buckler (600 Gold)

Tia - Long Knife (800 Gold), Mini Shield (IP: Battle Lust; 800 Gold)

I know I know.... It's expensive. But the dungeon that is coming up can be
difficult. Also, I suggest you don't buy any armor for Tia, as her Frock's
IP is useful. Another thing I suggest you don't do, is waste time in the
extra-small casino on the 2nd floor of the Inn. There's only one slot, and
the Rage Knife that is being sold for 1,000 Coins (Casino Currency) is no
better then the Short Sword or Mace. After you purchase the latest equipment,
head outside of the town and battle Eagles until you have 2 Eagle Rocks. When
you have 2 Eagle Rocks (Rarely dropped by the Eagles), equip one on Maxim
and Tia to raise your stats. Head back into town and heal, then save. There
is NO Spell Shop here in Alunze, so don't look for one. If you have excess
money, pick up a few Long Knifes and feed them to your Capsule Monster.

Now head to Alunze Castle. When you get here, go North through the large doors,
then go up the stairs right in front of you, then go right through the next
door in front of you. You will now be in the Alunze Castle Throne Room. As
you walk in, messengers will appear, telling the King that the Crown is a
fake. The two messengers take the Crown, but are stopped by another person,
who says that the two have never been seen around the kingdom before. The
messengers will drop the crown, and reveal themselves as none other then...
Berty and Bart! The notorious thieves. They'll pull out a bomb, and shoot
it... waiting for it to explode. But welly well well... It blows up in Berty
and Barts faces! The two failed at stealing the crown, so they run out the
way you came in. But then Berty just walks up to the crown, takes it, then
leaves... as the dumb guards just standing there, making it so you have to
go chase them around the huge castle basement. Oh well. Maxim and Tia to the
rescue I guess.

Now go out the door, but don't go down the stairs. Go out the door to the
south, then go to the east and into that room, and down all the stairs to
reach the basement. When you get to the final stair way, a guard will be on
the ground. He'll tell you that another bomb exploded on Berty and Bart, but
debris hit the guard, knocking him out. Go down the other stairs, and you'll
be in the next dungeon...

My Levels:

   Tia       -

When you first enter this dungeon, go through the only door that you see.
You'll see a crack in the wall to the east, but you can't do anything to it
yet, so go through the south door. Pick up the pot you see, and place it on
the switch to the south, then go through the door to the next room. You'll
see a thin walk way, a gray-ish tile, and a locked door to the south, and
in the north-west part you'll see a gray-ish tile and 2 blocks. Push the East
block down one tile, and then push the West block onto the gray-ish tile.
The thin walk way will now become a little larger. Now take the block you
pushed down, and push it East 2 tiles, then all the way south, keeping the
block on the western wall. Now push it towards the door, and place it on the
gray-ish tile, and then go through the door. Open the blue chest you see to
get the Bomb Tool. The bombs can blow up that cracked wall you saw in the
beginning of the dungeon.

So go all the way back to that wall, and set a bomb down, and swing your sword
6 times to blow it up. Go through the door, and pick up the pot that is a
little to the south-east. Go around to the west path, and bring it to the
south and set it on the switch to make a walk way to your east. Don't go on
that walk way just yet. Go up and all the way to the east side of the room,
to find a chest and 2 poles. You can't reach that chest yet because you don't
have the tool you need yet. So make a note of that chest also, and I'll tell
you to return here later in the game. Now go south, and open the chest that
has a Sentopez by it. Open the chest to get a Headband that Tia can wear.
However, you should already have a Headband, so just feed it to your Capsule
Monster. Now go down the other walk way, and down the stairs.

Down here, you will see a cracked wall to the north. Don't blow it up yet.
Go through the door you see, and beat the Bat in here. The south door will
open, giving you access to healing pads and a save pad. So heal up and save,
then go blow up the wall you saw earlier. Beat the 2 enemies in here, then
go north to see a pot and 2 switches. Put the pot on the north-west switch,
and then go through the north-west door to pick up an Escape item. Put the
pot on the other switch, and go through the door. At the east of this room,
push the block to the east, and then blow up the wall here.

In this room, you will see yellow, red and purple tiles. The object of this
puzzle is to make all the tiles disappear to open this path. This puzzle is
the first actual puzzle of the game, and is one of the most difficult and
annoying ones also. So, I have made the best possible description that I could.
All you really need to do is look at the different steps that I made below,
and you should be able to figure it out.

R=Red Tile   Y=Yellow Tile   P=Purple Tile
X=Move This Tile   O=Move The 'X' To Here  D=Tiles That Dissapear

Original:       Step 1:  Step 2: Step 3: Step 4: Step 5:

   R RR        OR RR       DDXDD
                 O           O
  ODD
  DRR           XX
  D X

Sorry if those 'drawings' are... confusing. If anyone has a better way of
describing it, please email me at [email protected].

Anyways, after all the tiles disappear, go to the east door first, and open
the chest in there to get a Coat. Equip it on Tia.

Now go through the south door to continue on with the dungeon. You'll see
blocks with an 'x' in them, meaning they cannot be moved. So the move the
west block with no X down a tile, then move the east one east a tile, and
then move the south tile all the way west, and go down the stairs. In this
room, go to the west path first, and push the west block west onto the gray
tile. Don't do anything to the other block.

Go back to the teleporter, pot, and 4 switches. Put the pot on the north-west
switch first, and step on the teleporter. In this room, fight the bull, then
place a bomb next to the crate you see, and walk out of that area, and the
bomb will explode, making a path to the chest that contains a Dragon Egg.
The Dragon Egg is for a side-quest that will be explained when you obtain
all 8 Dragon Eggs much later in the game. Go through the south door and push
the block all the way south onto the gray tile, then go back to the teleporter
and switches.

Now place the pot on the north-east switch. In this room, each time you move
a space, spikes will rise to block your path. So move Up, Left, Left, Up,
Up, Left, Left, Up, Up, Right, Right, Up, Up, Right to get a Secret Fruit
from the chest. Keep the Secret Fruit and feed it to Jelze after you have
fed him to Class 4 to 'grow' him to Class M. Now go Left, Down, Down, Left,
Left, Down, Down, Right, Right, Down, Down, Right, Right, Down to be back
at the teleporter.

Now place the pot on the south-east switch, and step on the teleporter to
come to a room with a Mad Horse in it. Walk around until you catch the Mad
Horse, and fight it. After beating it, the spikes in the north part of the
room will go down, letting you get the chest that has a Light Knife in it.
The Light Knife is weaker then your current weapons, so just keep it to sell
later.

Now put the pot on the last switch, and you'll be a in a room full of Cobalts.
Beat all the Cobalts to open the door to the north, and go through it. Go
down the stairs that are on the red carpet to the west. Finally, the end of
the dungeon... AND NO BOSS! Yay. Anyways, in here you will find Berty and
Bart. They'll step on a switch that prevents you from getting to them, and
getting out of the drain area. But the dumb-asses step on the wrong switch,
and the water comes down their side of the drain area. Step on the switch
to the south to lower the poles, then go up the stairs and go down either
side to a door, and go through it. Go down the stairs you see in the next
room, and go south to pick up the crown, and Berty and Bart are no where to
be seen.

Use an Escape item or walk out to be in Alunze Castle. Go back to the thrown
room and talk to the King. He will thank you, and ask you what you would like
in return for your deed. Pick 'Nothing' and the King will give you 3,000 Gold
(Best Option). Now head back to the town, heal, and save.

       8: ALUNZE NORTHWEST CAVE
    ===============================
My Levels:
   Maxim - 13
   Tia   - 11

My Equipment:
   Maxim     -
- Weapon: Short Sword
- Armor: Cloth Armor
- Shield: Buckler
- Helmet: Cloth Helmet
- Ring: Speedy Ring
- Accessory: Eagle Rock

   Tia       -
- Weapon: Long Knife
- Armor: Frock
- Shield: Mini Shield
- Helmet: Headband
- Ring: None
- Accessory: Eagle Rock

Head to the Alunze Northwest Cave after healing and saving. The Cave is
located to the Northwest, and if you didn't know that, you shouldn't be
playing this game at all :p Anyhow, when you first enter, you'll speak with
Abel (the little kid) about the lost key to the door in the Alunze North Shrine.
Maxim will try to force the kid to tell him about the key, but the Tia says
he's scaring the kid, so Tia speaks to him. Tia will then speak to Maxim for
a moment, and then say that she's just 'prepared'. Unfortunately, Maxim is
dumb and doesn't understand what she means ;)

Anyways, let's get on with the cave now. Go down the stairs, and to the chest
surrounded by spikes. Shoot an Arrow at the switch you see, and then open
the chest that contains a Hi-Potion. Go up the other stairs, and use the bridge
piece to make a bridge. Go across, but don't use the other bridge piece on
the north bridge yet. Go through the door to the East, to find 3 switches,
and 2 pots. This is also a little puzzle. First thing to solve this: Only
defeat the bat in this room, and leave the Needle Lizard alone. Place a pot
on two of the switches, and then stand by the door and walk around or swing
your sword until the Needle Lizard stands on the third switch. If you're far
from the door, use an Arrow to paralyze it in its place.

Now go through the door to the north. Follow the simple path until you get
to a room where it seems like you can't continue any further. But if you look
in the south-east corner of the room, you'll see a crack in the ground. So
go over to it, and stand on it to fall to another room. In here, push the
south block to the east, and then push the north one up, and then walk above
it by the door, and push it back onto the switch. Open the chest in this room
to pick up a Horse Rock. Equip the Horse Rock on Maxim, and then push the
blocks out of your way that are to the west. Go through the door to the south,
and you'll see a pot. Set the pot on the tile that is one tile north, and
one tile west from the lowest part of the area you can walk. Doing so will
make a staircase appear on the other side of the water.

Go back into the other room, and go into the west door. There is a hidden
passageway in this room, so let's take it. To find it, walk into the little
indentation in the middle of the southern wall to find another staircase.
Go down it to pick up the Light Armor. Equip the Light Armor on Maxim now.
Go back up the stairs, and into the west door. Becareful walking through this
room as there are quite a bit of enemies. Head south and go through the south
door. Don't go down the stairs you see yet, instead go through the door to
the south. You'll see 2 healing pads, so heal up, and then cut the vines on
the wall directly to the north of them to open up another secret path. Go
through it to get a Brave Potion and a Miracle. Use the Brave Potion on Maxim
to increase his GUT.

Now go out of the secret path, and through the east door, and go down the
stair way that you made with the pot earlier. Go directly north to find a
block and some bushes that will grow back after being cut. Under the
north-most bush is a switch. This puzzle can be annoying to some people, so
I'll explain it the best I can.

X=Stone  O=Bush  M=Maxim  B=Bomb  D=Block

Step 1:      Step 2:         Step 3:       Step 4:          FINAL:

XOX          XOX             XOX           XOX              XDX
OOO          OOO             OOO           OBO              OMO
OO           OO              BO            OD               OO
OO           BO              OD            OM               OO
BO            D               M             O                O
 D            M
 M

After solving this puzzle, a stair way will appear to the north of you, but
you can't get there just yet. Now go west until you see a switch. Go flip
it, and then change it back to the way it was. Stand on one of the spots that
opens up so you fall down, and hit the switch with an Arrow to fall down.
Go north then east, and up the stairs, then do gown the other stairs and up
the stairs you made appear with the puzzle a few minutes ago. Open the chest
on the blue carpet to get a Jet Helm. Equip the Jet Helm on Maxim, and then
go back to where you fell when you pressed the switch. You'll see a stairway
surround by wood lining, but don't go down them just yet. First, take the
two pillars you see and push them into the water to make a bridge to the other
side. Over here go over to the 3 chests that you see, and the enemies enclosed
by spikes. The second you open one of these chests, you'll have to fight all
the enemies to get out, so make sure you have enough HP to get through them.
Once your ready open the 3 chests that contain the following items, starting
from west to east: Hi-Potion, Hi-Magic, Power Brace (Equip the Power Brace
on Maxim). Now fight the enemies below you to lower the spikes.

Now go back to the other 2 pillars that are not in the water. Push them over
the 2 pillars in the water to the other side, then push them into the water
against the eastern wall. Get on the second pillar and walk towards the wall,
and you'll walk through it to the otherside to a chest containing a Witch
Ring. Equip the Witch Ring on Tia. Now go down the stairs that has the wooden
lining around it. In here, go down the stairs to the south, then go up the
only other stairs in the next room. Go north and then west to where that Crab
is, then go under the bridge, and walk through the wall. Follow the hidden
path to a chest containing another Miracle.

Now go back, and over the bridge you went under to the next room. In here
just step on the switch to the north to lower the water. Go back from whence
you came, and go into the room to the east (not the north). In here just go
through the room, over the bridge, into the next room, and step on the switch
to lower the water in here also. Go back from whence you came again, and go
into the north room now. Go down the stairs, then over the little 'arrow
bridge', to healing pads and a save pad. North of them is a cracked wall,
so use a bomb on it to go to the boss room. In here the Goblin will tell you
that he has the key, and won't give it to you. So you'll just have to force
him to give it up.

The Regal Goblin is not difficult at all (he is a regular enemy like the Lizard
Man, except he's from a little later in the game). First use the Short Swords
IP, Ice Attack, and use Tia's Mini Shields IP, Battle Lust, on Maxim. After
this use physical attacks, and heal with Strong as needed, or if you get below
35 HP (Tia most likely will every other turn). The Regal Goblins physical
attacks will do about 25-30 HP to Tia. He seemed to attack Tia the entire
battle, and Maxim never even got hit once. For this battle you'll rack up
a good 1,800 EXP, and 500 Gold.

After the battle, go to the blue chest and pick up the Shrine Key. If you
have an Escape, use it. If not, walk out of the cave, and head to the Alunze
North Shrine. When you get there, talk to the lady with the blonde hair. She'll
thank you for returning the key, and tell you that her name is Hilda, and
she'd like it if you'd visit her if you ever go to Tanbel. Well what a
coincidence... that's where you'll be heading. Go through the shrine, and
then go as far north as you can, and to the town that you see, which is Tanbel.

    ======================
          9: TANBEL
    ======================

When you first enter Tanbel, talk to Hilda who is right by the entrance. Her
brother will then walk up to you also and thank you for helping his sister
back at the shrine. Hilda will introduce you to him, and tell you that his
name is Guy. They invite you to stay at the Inn today, and she'll cook you
something special. Guy will then invite Maxim to spar with him, and of course,
Maxim accepts. Head to the north part of the city, and talk to Guy, and watch
them start sparring. But right before the battle ensues, a villager will tell
you that there are monsters in the town! The sky will flash, and some monsters
will appear, along with a super-being. The being asks Guy if he is the
strongest man around, and Guy asks him who he is. He'll only tell you if you
beat his henchman, so do so.

This is pretty much just a normal battle, but with boss music. Have Maxim
and Guy use physical attacks, or use Ice Attack, the Short Swords IP. Have
Tia use physical attacks and heal as needed. These guys will be dead in no
time.

After that, the mysterious man disappears. Maxim and Guy are about to spar,
but are interrupted yet again by another villager. This time, the villager
will tell Guy that some weird man took Hilda away. Guy will become enraged,
and Maxim says he'll go with Guy to the South East Tower. Guy will then join
your party. Now head to the shop to purchase the following equipment:

Maxim: Kukri (IP: Thunderblast; 1500 Gold), Hide Helmet (800 Gold), Wood
Shield (1200 Gold)

Tia: Wire (IP: WaterAttack; 1200 Gold), Light Dress (IP: Re-Energize; 1000
Gold), Bracelet (IP: Ironclad; 1400 Gold)

Guy: Kukri (IP: Thunderblast; 1500 Gold), Light Armor (IP: Free Magic; 1200
Gold), Hide Helmet (800 Gold)

Equip Guy with the extra Eagle Rock you should have unequipped from Maxim
earlier. Also, head to the Spell Shop and purchase Flash for Maxim and Tia,
and Droplet for Tia if you have enough Gold. If you need Gold, go outside
of the town to build up some money. Also, while you're out there, get Guy
up to about Level 14 or so for the next dungeon. After completing all of that,
head to the South East to the South East Tower.

In-between Tanbel and here, I gained a few thousand Gold to purchase some
Battle Knifes back in Sundletan, and fed them to my JELZE to get him to Class
2.

Anyways, when you first enter the tower, go through the door to the north-west.
In here, step on the black tile with the white marking on it to make 4 switches
appear. Push the East and West blocks on the switches, and push the North
block all the way onto the South switch. Now go down to the South-West, and
push the blocks out of the way, and pick the pot up, and then set it on the
Northern switch, and go through the door. Go up the stairs in this room, then
through the door you see. In here, beat the Goblin standing in the middle
of the blue carpet to reveal a switch. Step on it to open the door, then go
through it, then go through the next door to be on the outside of the Tower.

Go into the door to the East. In here, push the pole onto the white tile with
the black mark first, then push it over to the black tile with the white mark.
Now the walls will be open so you can continue on. Just continue North to
the stairs, and go up them, then go up the next stairway. Now in here, go
through the southern door first. If you step on the blue carpet, tiles appear
around the switch. But see where that blue crab is? Beat it, then walk directly
north through the little gap in the carpets lining, and then step on the switch
to open the door to the south. Continue on to the outside of the Tower. Go
up the ladder, and flip the switch to lower a platform above you. Now go back
to the room before the crab and the switch, and go into the West door now.
In here, push the pole onto the different looking white tile to make marks
appear on 4 tiles surrounding it. Pick up each of the pots and place them
on the 4 tiles to open the door. In here, go directly South, not up the stairs.
See that reddish skeleton on the floor? Place a bomb on its head (where dust
rises if you step on it), and then swing your sword so it blows up, then step
on the switch that was revealed. Keep going South to the outside of the Tower.

Go down the ladder, and into the room. In here you will see 3 poles with a
red dot on the top of them. The sounds at each one are random (on my version
for some reason... for other people it's been the same all the time), but
here's the solutions:

Clinging Noise= Arrow
Swish Noise= Sword
Explosion Noise= Bomb

After that, continue onto the next room to get the Sky Key. Return to the
room with the stairs I had you pass, and go up them now, then go through the
door. Heal and save at these pads. Now go all the way south to the outside
of the Tower again. Go over the platform to the room at the east. In here
go right through the door you see. In this room you need to arrange the Pole
and Block to certain 'times' to reveal a secret path and the switch to make
the ladder outside complete. So use the ASCII images below to see the
solutions.

P= Pole     B= Block    T= Tile with white marking

To The Secret Path Containing A Jute Helm:

         P
         B
     T       T

         T

To Switch For Ladder:

         P

     B       T

         T

Equip the Jute Helm on Maxim, then flip the switch in the other room to
complete the ladder to the final room. Go back and heal and save if you must,
then go up that ladder. In here just go North, through the door, and then
towards those 3 chest to see Hilda and the weirdo. He'll say that he had to
test the abilities of certain humans, which is why he kidnapped Hilda. Incas
you missed it, this guys name is Camu. Anyways, you will now battle him.

        +--------------------------------+

   Guy       -

On the first turn, have Maxim use the Kukri's IP, ThunderBlast. Have Guy do
the same. Have Tia use the Bracelets IP, IronClad, on herself. Now Camu will
most likely call some companions, which are the exact same as the followers
you fought earlier (But now they're called Slaves). Do NOT bother with them.
On the second turn have Guy and Maxim use ThunderBlast again, and have Tia
cast Flash on Camu only. Now just use physical attacks with Guy, and have
Tia and Maxim use Flash on Camu. When you have enough IP, start using
ThunderBlast again. Camu's physical attacks will only do about 20 HP damage
to someone, and if there's 2 Slaves and Camu, Strong will only heal them by
10 HP, which is useless on their behalf. Continue bashing him with physical
attacks and ThunderBlast along with Flash, and he should be dead in no time.
Also, Camu's Blast Attack should only do about 25 HP damage to EACH character,
which is no biggy, so just use Strong if your HP gets low. After you take
out Camu, just KO his Slaves. I got 3,200 EXP and 5,500 Gold, but it depends
on how many companions he called. Hell, you could even harvest off this battle
most likely, and get tons of EXP and Gold.

After the battle, Camu will be angry that he lost, and say that he could not
believe how powerful you are. He will then say it doesn't matter however since
'Sinistrals' will soon rule the world. As of now, no one in your party knows
what a 'Sinistral' is, but if you played Lufia I, you'd know. After Camu dies,
he will lock the door, and then you will be left alone. Suddenly, the door
will open, and Iris will show up and teleport you to Tanbel. When you reach
Tanbel, Iris will already be gone. Hilda will be placed in bed, and Tia, Maxim
and Guy will have a conversation about the Sinistrals and the dangers of
everything that has happened lately. Jessy will then come upstairs, and you
will find out that Jessy and Guy are an item. Awww.... Anyways, Jessy says
she'll watch over Hilda, and Guy gets happy and whatnot, and fully joins your
party. Now go save your game, then head back to the South East Tower.

In here, drag your lazy ass ALLLLL THE WAY BACK TO THE TOP where Camu was.
Grab the chests that contain Camu Armor, Fire Dagger, and Pearl Brace. Equip
the Fire Dagger on Maxim, and Camu Armor on Guy, and Pearl Brace on Tia.

Now go ALLL the way back down to the bottom of the Tower (or use an Escape),
and just go directly into the North door in the first room of the Tower, and
then go North again to be on the other side of the Tower. Now go North to...

    ======================
        11: CLAMENTO
    ======================

At the shop here, you can pick up a Rod for Tia (1800 Gold), Baggy (1600 Gold),
and Red Beret (IP: Spellstruck; 1000 Gold). For Maxim you don't need anything
here, so get a Wood Helmet for Guy (1400 Gold) and then a bunch of Mystery
Pins (they'll be very useful soon), and then you're all set. Don't bother
nuying the glass items, they're more expensive and no better then what you
can get now.

Now head North to the biggest house in the town. In here you'll find Rochy,
the richest and b*tchiest man in the town. He'll tell you that if you happen
to find the Ruby Apple, he'll buy it off you. His wife will then tell you
that the owners of the glass shop still have not paid their rent, and they're
always late. Anyways, head out of town and go north-east to the Ruby Cave.

    ======================
       12: RUBY CAVE
    ======================
My Levels:
   Maxim - 20
   Tia   - 19
   Guy   - 19

My Equipment:
   Maxim     -
- Weapon: Fire Dagger
- Armor: Light Armor
- Shield: Wood Shield
- Helmet: Jute Helm
- Ring: Speedy Ring
- Accessory: Horse Rock

   Tia       -
- Weapon: Rod
- Armor: Baggy
- Shield: Pearl Brace
- Helmet: Headband
- Ring: Witch Ring
- Accessory: Eagle Rock

   Guy       -
- Weapon: Kukri
- Armor: Camu Armor
- Shield: Wood Shield
- Helmet: Hide Helmet
- Ring: None
- Accessory: Eagle Rock

When you first enter the Ruby Cave, just go straight to the north to the next
room. In here, go east, but don't go down the stairs. First, look north of
the stairs to see a darkened section in the wall. Place a bomb by it to blow
it up, and follow the straight-forward path until you go down the stairs.
Down here you'll see 4 switches. Each time you push a switch, the one
horizontally and vertically aligned with it switch also. So push the Upper
Right switch, Upper Left switch, Bottom Right switch, and Bottom Left switch
to lower the lava in the next part. Now blow up the wall by the switches and
step on the teleporter, and then go west to get the next Capsule Monster,
BLAZE. He'll be on Level 15 when you get him. Switch to BLAZE, because he
is fire-oriented, and fire-oriented attacks do more damage to the enemies
on this stage, including the boss. At this point I exited the cave and went
to Sundletan again to purchase things to feed to BLAZE, and got him to Class
2.

Now head back to the first room where you bombed the wall, and go down the
stairs. In here just press on to the North to the next room, then go west.
In this room, just make a bridge to the center spot, and then go north, and
down the east stairway. Down here the object is to throw those ice blocks
into the lava to make a path. First, go directly south and look west to see
a switch on the otherside. Shoot an Arrow at it to connect the 2 areas over
there. Now, pick up and ice block and throw it into the lowest eastern part
of the main section, and then throw another one in at the lowest eastern part
until you get to the next 2 ice blocks. Now face west on the western most
area, and throw it into the lava, and then face south and throw it into the
lava to reach 2 chests containing a Fury Helmet and Aqua Whip. Equip the Aqua
Whip on Tia, and the Fury Helmet on Guy. Pick up the ice block on this part,
and walk to the main area again. Go west to find a spot with another ice block
on it. Throw the ice block into the lava, and then throw the other one into
the lava to get a Flame Fruit.

Now head back up the stairs, and go down the west stairway, then go south
to another stairway. Go north to where the Skeleton is, beat it, then cut
the vine behind where it was to reveal a doorway. Go through it to get the
Ruby Key. Now go back up, down the east stairway, and to the room with the
ice blocks again. Now, take an ice block and throw it into the lava at the
east to make a path to the stairs there. Go down them, and go south. Before
going into the door you see at the west, cut all the vines on the wall to
find a doorway leading to healing pads and a saving pad. Heal and save, then
go into that doorway you saw. Go north and your characters will find the Ruby
Apple. As you go to take it, a Giant Spider shows up and says it uses it to
lure people to the cave to eat them as food... So it's time to fight.

        +--------------------------------+
        |        BOSS: Tarantula         |
        |          HP: 2000              |
        +--------------------------------+
My Levels:
   Maxim - 21
   Tia   - 20
   Guy   - 20

My Equipment:
   Maxim     -
- Weapon: Fire Dagger
- Armor: Light Armor
- Shield: Wood Shield
- Helmet: Jute Helm
- Ring: Speedy Ring
- Accessory: Horse Rock

   Tia       -
- Weapon: Aqua Whip
- Armor: Baggy
- Shield: Pearl Brace
- Helmet: Headband
- Ring: Witch Ring
- Accessory: Eagle Rock

   Guy       -
- Weapon: Kukri
- Armor: Camu Armor
- Shield: Wood Shield
- Helmet: Fury Helmet
- Ring: None
- Accessory: Eagle Rock

In this battle, have Maxim use the Fire Daggers IP, Blaze Attack, as much
as possible, as it deals major damage to the Tarantula. Have Guy attack with
normal attacks, and have Tia cast Spark. The Tarantula may call some Web
Spiders, but don't really worry about them. If you get paralysed or poisoned,
just use a Mystery Pin or Antidote. If you have to, have Tia use strong to
heal everyone. If you get lucky, he'll drop a Spido Jewel. However, I was
unlucky this time and did not get one.

After the battle, the ruby will break, but since ruby is so strong they think
it was a fake. Go through the door that just opened up to find Jaffy, the
glass shop owner. He'll say he needed money, so he came here to find the Ruby
Apple, and then shows you a Ruby Apple that he made from red glass. You'll
take the 'Ruby Apple' gladly to jip Rochy back at Clamento. So, head back
to Clamento, and then talk to to Rochy. He'll give you a ton of money, but
when you leave, everyone will decide to give it to Jaffy so he can pay his
rent and whatnot. Maxim will then give a Ear Jewel to Tia (Just sell it at
a shop for extra money), and she'll get happy. Anyways, head out of town,
and go north-west to the Small Shrine to Parcelyte. Go right on through, and
then go north to the village part of Parcelyte.

    ======================
       13: PARCELYTE
    ======================

When you first enter Parcelyte, you'll see a girl named Lemmy being teased
by the local trouble makers. A green-haired female named Selan will then show
up, and make the boys run away. Selan will then tell Lemmy that girls should
not cry so easily. Selan will then leave to go to the Castle. First off, head
to the shop and purchase the following:

Maxim- Chainmail (3000 Gold), Brone Helmet (IP: Menace; 2500 Gold), Kite
Shield (IP: Fleet; 2200 Gold)

Tia- Tight Dress (IP: Reawaken; 2850 Gold), Blue Beret (2300 Gold), Tough
Gloves (2600 Gold)

Guy- Franshiska (2600 Gold), Kite Shield (IP: Fleet; 2200 Gold)

Now head to the castle section of Parcelyte. When you get there, you'll see
Selan and a cadet training. Selan will whoop the poor cadet with no trouble.
If you haven't noticed, Selan is the Commander of the Parcelyte army. Guy
and Maxim will talk about how 'good' she is... heh. Anyways, head north into
the main area of the castle, and go to the throne room. Talk to the king when
you get to the throne room, he'll ask you to do gim a favor. Accept his favor,
which is to obtain the Treasure Sword from the shrine to the north. The king
will also ask that Selan attends the little treasure hunt with you. Selan
will tell you that she has not 'accepted' you yet. Anyways, head back to the
shop in the town and purchase the following for Selan:

Chain (IP: Dive Bomber; 2200 Gold), Tight Dress (IP: Reawaken; 2850 Gold),
Blue Beret (2300 Gold), Tough Gloves (2600 Gold)

Head out of town, and get Selan up to about level 22 now. While you're out
here, you may run into Red Cores, which give you 2222 EXP each. They run away
most of the time, but if you run into them, use spells on them as spells are
much more effective. After leveling up, head north-west to the Treasure Sword
Shrine.

    =============================
      14: TREASURE SWORD SHRINE
    =============================
My Levels:
   Maxim - 29
   Tia   - 29
   Guy   - 28
   Selan - 27

My Equipment:
   Maxim     -
- Weapon: Fire Dagger
- Armor: Tough Hide
- Shield: Kite Shield
- Helmet: Brone Helmet
- Ring: Speedy Ring
- Accessory: Horse Rock

   Tia       -
- Weapon: Aqua Whip
- Armor: Tight Dress

- Ring: Witch Ring

   Guy       -
- Weapon: Franshiska
- Armor: Chainmail
- Shield: Kite Shield
- Helmet: Fury Helmet
- Ring: None
- Accessory: Eagle Rock

   Selan     -
- Weapon: Chain
- Armor: Tight Dress
- Shield: Tough Gloves
- Helmet: Blue Beret
- Ring: None
- Accesory: None

At this point I stayed outside and gained some Gold to get Franshiskas (which
is also why my levels are higher then the levels I recommended, especially
for Selan) and fed them to BLAZE to get him to Class 3.

When you first enter the Shrine, head to the West door and go in, then go
right on to the next room. In here, walk through the east wall dividing this
room and the secret part where the little tile lining dissapears. Pick up
the pot and set it on the northern switch, and then place a bomb by the cracked
wall north of the spikes to reach a room with a crack in the floor. Fall down
through the crack, then go east and then south to a chest containing a Round
Shield. Equip it on Maxim.

Push the tiles to the south to the east, then south, then go up the stairs.
Go back out to the main room, and go to the east room now. Just head right
on to the north to the next room, and go down the stairs.

In this room when you step on the big platforms, they move horizontally or
vertically (depending on how the platform faces) until another platform or
tile stops it. First, go a little south, and step on the horizontal platform
to go west, and be stopped by another platform. Step south to open a chest
containing an Undead Ring. Equip the Undead Ring on Selan. Step back on the
platform to go back east, then get back on it again, and then step on the
platform west of it. Ride it north, then step on the platform above it, then
get on that platform again, and get on the platform south of it that you were
on. Now go south, and then east and step on that platform to ride it north.
Go east to get off, then go all the way south, then all the way west, then
onto the other platform to head north again, and then get on the platform
to the north. Now get off of it and pick up the Sword Key and Anger Brace.
Equip the Anger Brace on Selan. Now step back on the southern platform to
ride it back west. Step on the south platform now to ride it back south, and
then step on the east platform to go back east. No go north, and step on the
platform to the west of the stairs to go south and reach a chest containing
a Cold Rapier. Equip this bad boy on Maxim.

Now step on the east platform to have access to the stairs. Go back to the
main room, and use the key on the center door. Go north through this room,
but becareful because enemies will pop out from behind the pillars as you
do. When you reach the door, go through and then go up the stairs. Now continue
south through the room until you reach a room with a moving platform and
switches.

First, flip the bottom switch, then the top switch. Now flip the bottom switch
once, then the top switch, followed by the bottom switch once more to be able
to go south. In here open the chest containing a Bat Rock. Equip it on Selan.
Now go back to the switches. Flip the top one twice first, then flip the bottom
switch, followed by the top switch to go east. Flip the bottom switch once,
followed by the top switch twice, and then the bottom switch once more to
go south. Voila. Now go through the east door.

Continue on, and go up the stairs. In here, place a bomb by the west crate
first, then place one by the east one. Now go to the little part that sticks
out to the north, and keep pressing up on the D-Pad, and don't stop until
the bombs blow up and you reach the other side. Go through the door, then
west and up the stairs. Go all the way south in the next room.

In the next few rooms, you must move red and yellow blocks, and turn them
all yellow in a limited amount of turns. In here, pick up the western most
yellow tile, and place it directly to the east of the eastern most red tile
to make them all yellow and open up the next room.

In here, you can move one red and one yellow.

R=Red Tile    Y=Yellow Tile    M=Maxim    X=Move This    O=Move it Here

Original:    Move 1:      Move 2:

      Y           Y            Y
     R           R            R

     YR          YX           X

In this room (the last one), you can move 2 yellow, and one red.

R=Red Tile    Y=Yellow Tile    M=Maxim    X=Move This    O=Move it Here

Original:    Move 1:    Move 2:   Move 3:

   YRR       XRR         RY       RY
               O          Y        Y

Now continue on to some healing pads and a save pad. Go south, and up the
stairs. Use the key, and then go north, then up the stairs. As you're getting
ready to go to the next room, 2 clowns will appear and say they won't let
you go through. Talk to Pierre (the blue one) first. Have Maxim and Guy use
regular attacks, and have Tia and Selan cast Gale. This battle'll be over
in no time flat. He'll disappear... and re-appear! You'll end up outside of
that room. Go back and heal then come back. Now fight Daniele (the red one).
Have Maxim, Tia and Selan cast Flash on him, and have Guy use regular attacks.
He'll disappear... and then re-appear too! Grand. Regenerating monsters. Now
go heal and save, and before you back in, equip the Fire Dagger on Guy. As
you're going back in, Selan will tell you that the only way of beating them
may be by destroying them at the same time. Maxim and Tia will fight Pierre,
and Guy and Selan will fight Daniele.

Have Maxim use the Cold Rapiers IP, Glacial Blast, and have Tia use the Aqua
Whips IP, Aqua Attack, to chip off about 800-1,000 damage in a turn. Then
have Maxim use regular attacks, and have Tia cast Gale. This battle should
be a breeze.

Now onto Guy and Selans battle...

Have Guy use the Fire Daggers IP, Blaze Attack, and have Selan cast Flash.
Have Guy use physical attacks if you don't have enough IP left... Heal when
needed (you shouldn't have to).

Now go north, grab the Treasure Sword, and use an Escape, and head back to
Parcelyte Castle. Go to the thrown room and talk to the King. As you are
speaking to him, a messenger will arrive... Bearing the bad news that the
neighboring town, Gordovan has been destroyed. Selan will ask the King if
she can take three soldiers to there to look it over. The King won't allow
it, however, Maxim volunteers to go with her instead. As you're leaving, Selan
will tell you that she is beginning to trust you, but only a little. Before
leaving the castle, go down stairs, and directly north to a stairway. Go down
it, and into the room to receive the Holy Wings. Equip them on Selan. Head
out here, and go south-west to the Small Shrine to Gordovan. Go through it,
then go east to the destroyed town...

    ======================
         15: GORDOVAN
    ======================

When you get here, the town will be in shambles, and you'll find that there
is no shops. However, there is an Inn. Anyways, speak to the towns-folk, then
head west to the source of this trouble, Gordovan West Tower.

             THOUGHTS
    ==========================

Well.... After a very long time, I decided 'What the hey... I love Lufia II,
so why not write a walkthrough?'. So I sat down one night, and got into it
quite a bit. My first version was a 3 hour sit, and I completed the walkthrough
from the beginning to Alunze Kingdom. I really had no help when making this
guide, but I lived with my own knowledge of Lufia II. I would however, greatly
appreciate any emails concerning something that I may have missed in my
walkthrough or anything. So feel free to email me any good boss strategies
for difficult bosses, or a chest that I may have missed. Thank you for
reading/using my FAQ/Walkthrough for Lufia II.
