Disclaimer:

Okay, I don't want to see this FAQ on any website unless
I authorize it.  I don't want this FAQ sold, or usedwithout giving any
credit to me. Okay, now on with the FAQ.

Why I made this FAQ:

I made this FAQ for Hokuto No Ken 6 on Super Famicom or slightly altered
Super Nintendo to get more information for Fist of the North Star Fans like
myself that wanted to find info on the video games but ended up finding
nothing at all.  This is also a pretty good
fighting game that deserves  a FAQ to explain how the game can be played
best. Thanks to Sauza_X, I have a translation of the story
and profiles of the characters.  I have changed the direct translations
somewhat so they make more sense. However, the translated instruction manual
has been left just as the translators have translated it.

What is Hokuto No Ken?

Hokuto No Ken (Known in America a Fist of the North Star is a great Anime
series with tons of action!  It revolves around Kenshiro, the strongest
fighter of the Hokuto Shinken (North Star God Fist) style, which focuses on
attacking the enemy from the inside using pressure
points to either hurt or destroy the enemy.  Kenshiro fights his powerful
brother Raoh, that is jealous of his successorship of the Hokuto Shinken
style.  His opposites and challengers are Nanto Seiken (Southern Cross Holy
Fist) Which focuses on destroying the enemy
from the outside using penetrating strikes modeled after birds.  Among that
style is Rei and Souther. Hokuto Ryuuken (North Star Dark Lapis Lazuli Fist)
isan evil style of the North Star and challenges Ken and
Raoh of the Hokuto Shinken style.  Kaioh and Kuroyasha are the challengers
of Hokuto Ryuuken.  The Gento Kou Ken (Origin Star Emporer Fist) style is a
powerful style that focuses on destroying an enemy on the cellular level.
Golden Falco, the Gento successor plans to destroy the Hokuto and Nanto
fighters.  Well, that's the Hokuto No Ken story in a nutshell, I have formed
the information to match the story in this game.  If you want more
information about the Fist of the North Star (Hokuto No Ken) Series or its
games please join the club and he would be happy to help you.

Characters

Kenshiro

Savior of the Century's End and the strongest of the
Legendary Hokuto Shinken fighters. Love and sadness
reward him with the ultimate fighting skills

Kenshiro has the ability to perform the Musou Tensei
or Nil-Thought Reincarnation, which hasn't been done
for thousands of years.  Musou Tensei can only be
performed by one who truly understands love and sadness.

Hyakuretsu Ken: Charge R button for 2 seconds
Tenha Kassatsu: L button when Aura gauge reaches
Level One Green
Musou Tensei: L button when Aura gauge reaches Level
Two Yellow

Rating:

Well, of course Kenshiro is a great fighter just like in the series!
Definitely use his offensively,  the best technique that works on all
enemies to jump over the enemies repeatedly and then suprise them with a
Hyakuretsu Ken (atatatatata) and get in some good hits and build up power
for a super.  Both Supers are good, but the enemy tends to jump over the
Tenha Kassatsu (an energy blast in the shape of the scars on Kenshiro's
chest that shape the Hokuto constellation) so you're best bet would be to
wait until the Aura gauge reaches Level 2 yellow to perform Musou Tensei.
In Musou Tensei form, Kenshiro is invincible and much stronger in this form,
so feel free to bomb the enemy with Hyakuretsu Kens, you can do two of them
before Musou Tensei wears off and you can't build the Aura Gauge while you
are in Musou Tensei no matter how many hits you get in. However, beware,
Kaioh is immune to Ken's Musou Tensei so if you want to perform Supers be
sure you keep it in the Level One Green and throw Tenha Kassatsus at him.

Raoh

The oldest and tallest of the four Hokuto Shinken
brothers, he is the Conqueror of the Century's End,
and is the strongest man on Earth who shakes his
fist up at the heavens!

Touki Aura: Charge R button for 2 seconds
Hokuto Goushou Ha: L button when Aura gauge reaches
Level One Green
Tenshou Honretsu: L button when Aura gauge reaches
Level Two Yellow

Rating:

Awesome fighter! Big and strong and able to do Hokuto Goushou Ha a stronger
version of Ken's multiple hit attack Hyakuretsu Ken.  With his Touki Aura he
can throw fireballs which makes him a little more useful than Ken. He has to
charge to Level 2 Yellow to do an ultimate mult-hit attack Tenshou Honretsu,
but it's so powerful it's worth it! The only downside about this huge
fighter is that he's so big he can't crouch.  So to avoid fireballs you have
to jump which often sends you directly into the path of the fireball.  The
best way to win is to just have him go in offensively and hit hard until the
enemy is defeated.

Kuroyasha

He is a follower of the Hokuto Ryuuken Clan and is a
powerful fighter. His clawed fists can tear the dark
flowing sky.

Back flip: R button
Hokuto Yuugeki Ko:  L button when Aura gauge reaches
Level One Green
Yuushou Sei Bu:  L button when Aura gauge reaches
Level Two Yellow

Rating:

Well, not a character I like to use.  He's short and doesn't have a special
move that can enable him to get points on the Aura gauge too fast.  But he's
great for the low blow, fireballs pass right over him and he can basically
break down the enemy by just hitting the enemy with his claws whenever he
gets the chance.  His Level 2 Yuushou Sei Bu is probably the best Super in
the game because it can't be blocked.  He flies up in the air and sends
multiple ghosts of himself at the opponent.  But again, it's hard for him to
build up the Aura Gauge to that level in order to utilize that Super enough
times. Use Kuroyasha defensively and you will be fine, block attacks and
then retaliate with a few good swipes with his claws.  A good way to win is
to just jump over the enemy and slice a few times and then jump again, but
it's very tedious and you could easily find yourself defeated.  A good
character if you have the time to master him.

Kaioh

He is the master and creator of the New Century. He
is the Legendary Hokuto Ryuuken successor and is known
as the Fist of Evil Ways. He possesses an evil fighting
spirit and his fists of are strong with evil power.

Matouki Aura: Charge R button for 2 seconds
Seishou Danretsu: L button when Aura gauge reaches
Level One Green
Anryuu Ten Ha: L button when Aura gauge reaches Level
Two Yellow

Rating:

As in the series, the best fighter in the game.  He's almost a carbon copy
of Raoh only he has armor and his moves are much stronger. If you're not
careful fighting him Kaioh can easily take you down before you know it.  I
recommend Kaioh as the best villain to use in story mode because he's immune
to Kenshiro's Musou Tensei due to his armor and training.  But like Raoh,
it's not good that he can't crouch to avoid fireballs.  Oh well, he's got
enough going on with strength and power it doesn't really matter, just
attack offensively like Raoh and you should dominate with Kaioh.

Falco

He is the leader of the Golden Army from the
Emperor's Capital and the legendary Gento Kou Ken successor.
He is a person with outstanding secret skills and when
his fists shine of gold he will kill everyone and
everything.

Messatu Dan: Charge R button for 2 seconds
Gento Hakuka Dan:  L button when Aura gauge reaches
Level One Green
Shou No Rin: L button when Aura gauge reaches Level
Two Yellow

Rating:

Falco seems to be a clone of Guile from Street Fighter complete with a Navy
ship in the background. Funny, use Falco just as you would Guile in Street
Fighter.  Falco is probably the cheapest character in the game so take
advantage of it!  His Charge move, the Messatsu Dan is a projectile just
toss it repeatedly like you would the Sonic Boom with Guile.  You can easily
build up the Aura Gauge to Level One Green to do a Gento Hakuka Dan, which
is a multiple golden light attack like Ken's Hyakuretsu Ken only with more
range, you can hardly miss with this move.  His Level 2 Yellow move Shou No
Rin is a projectile too!  So you can throw a very powerful two Golden Fire
rings at the enemy for devastating results!

Rei

He the legendary Nanto Waterfowl successor who
represents the star of justice. He is a fighter with
magnificent skills and has become a heartless
mercenary when his family was killed and his sister
abducted.

Shinkuu Ha: B button
Great Shinkuu Ha: Charge R button for 2 seconds
Nanto Koharyuu: L button when Aura gauge reaches Level
One Green
Suzaku Tenshou:  L button when Aura gauge reaches
Level Two Yellow

Rating:

He's great! With the ability to throw fireballs at the touch of a button he
has great range and probably a good character to start out with if you're
new to the game.  The Great Shinkuu Ha is just a more powerful version of
his Shinkuu Ha but you have to charge for it.  Both of his Supers are great
multi-hit attacks that do loads of damage!  The Nanto Koharyuu is a slice
and dice version of Ken's Hyakuretsu Den and his Suzaku Tenshou is a more
powerful attack that has Rei leap into the air and come down with many Nanto
hand strikes!
An awesome character to say the least.  He should be used completely
offensive since he can throw projectiles so easily and do a Nanto Koharyuu
or Suzaku Koharyuu repeatedly to win before you even know it.

Souther

He is a person whose body can not be harmed and is
one of the Six Nanto Seiken Fighters. He represents the
male star of leadership, he is the legendary Nanto
Phoenix successor and is known as the Nanto Emperor.
His skills are a concealed enigma...he has grown
evil after accidently killing his master, whom he loved.
He believed that love could only cause pain, and
hated it.

Kyokusei Juuji Ken:  L button when Aura gauge reaches
Level One Green
Tenshou Juuji Hou:  L button when Aura gauge reaches
Level Two Yellow

Rating:

Using Souther takes much skill that you might not want to bother trying.  He
is a very cool fighter once you get his style down.
First off, as said in his description his body can't be hurt because of his
dynamic anatomy and his mastership of the Nanto Phoenix.  He is completely
invincible until attacked by a Special move, or R button charge attack.
After that any attack will do damage.  He's very fast so when fighting him
try not to stay in one place.  By using the R button Souther can employ his
glide that Nanto Phoenix practitioners can do, this glide makes him fast and
almost untouchable.  So when using him you can use the glide to dodge out of
the way from special moves and maintain your invincibility. Basically, use
him defensively Just glide in and get in a few hits and glide back.  When
you build up enough points on the Aura gauge do a Super and then repeat that
fashion to win every time.  It's not an easy task mastering Souther, but if
you're willing for a challenge, or just like Souther anyway then please go
for it.

Heart

Heart possesses a murdering skill! With amazing and
unusual flesh...it's flexible like a gummy substance. With his skill, he can
easily destroy anyone or anything. Heart is a mercenary hired to destroy
Kenshiro.

Hara Kougeki:  B button
Jumping Body Press:  Up (B or Y)
Heart Dogou Geki: L button when Aura gauge reaches
Level One Green
Great Heart Dogou Geki:  L button when Aura gauge
reaches Level Two Yellow

Rating:

I play as Heart just for fun, with a lack of moves he's not really one that
I would use.  His Hara Kougeki, which is his gut attack is very handy and
can stop fighters instantly from doing a fireball or multi-hit strike.  His
Jumping Body Press is also useful in the same fashion.  The best way to use
him is to use both Offensive and Defensive strategies.  If the enemy is open
then jump in with a slap or a Hara Kougeki and block when needed.  Build up
the Aura Gauge to do a Heart Dougou Geki or Great Heart Dogo Geki, to do a
powerful body charge against the enemy for lots of damage.  Takes practice
to get good at this large fighter, but worth a try.

The Shadow of Hokuto Shinken (Dark Kenshiro)

There is a mysterious fighter known as the Shadow of Hokuto Shinken that
wishes to defeat all his opposers so he could be the Hokuto Ryuuken
Denshousha (or successor).  You can fight this special boss that looks like
a gray Kenshiro if you beat all the characters on any mode (Easy, Normal or
Hard) without using a continue.  This version of Ken is very powerful and
pulls of Musou Tensei's all the time.  It would be best to use Kaioh against
both Ken and the Shadow of Hokuto Shinken since they love to do the Musou
Tensei technique.  What's strange is that the ending is the same if you
fight Dark Kenshiro or not.
