1)Disclaimer
This is almost complete! I'm only missing two fortune dolls, as far as i know! This FAQ should
explain everything i know about the game. If you have any questions, or, if i missed anything,
feel free to email.
2)Legal Stuff
Everything that's supposed to be copyrighted by someone retains such copyrights. I lay no claim
to them. Goemon and all characters are a copyright of Konami.
I do, however, lay claim to this document. You have my permission to view it, and download it
onto your computer, and copy, and print it, so long as you DO NOT:
1. Make any money off of it. I'm not, why should you?
2. Sell it to anyone, for any reason, whatsoever. This means YOU, Game Cave and whoever else
is low enough to SELL a FREE FAQ...
3. PLAGIARIZE THIS WORK. Plagiarism is taking someone else's work and claiming it as your own.
This is just plain wrong. I put too much effort into this thing to have it stolen by some
loser. So just don't do it.
4. Post it on your page. This document must NOT be posted on any page except Gamefaqs
(
http://www.gamefaqs.com).
If you must, link to Gamefaqs. But not to the actual FAQ.
Gee, this disclaimer is shorter than Vestiroth's... But i hope people will read mine.
3)Story
The translated plotline to this game is that The all-knowing "Wiseman" has created a time
machine, and with it, he traveled from EDO into the future NEO-EDO, however the evil mistress
"Sister Bismaru" captured the Wiseman when he came to NEO-EDO, and she has forced him to build
her an army of robots, with her army she will travel back to EDO and conquer ancient Japan.
"Goemon" and "Ebisumaru" see this, and they head out to stop the evil Bismaru, and save Japan's
past, present and future. Every time you defeat a castle in NEO-EDO, you will receive a metal
plate, you will need all eight of these to beat the game. You can save at an inn, to save.
Walk in, and then when offered something, select the far right option, then select the first
option, and your game will be saved.
4)Charachters/Controls/Modes
GOEMON
Speed: medium
Main attack: pipe (eventually becomes "CHAIN PIPE")
Secondary attack: coin throw
Powered up secondary attack: Fireball. Goes through some walls and barriers.
Magic power: Sudden Impact: causes Goemon's attack power to rise, but lowers his defense, costs
ten scrolls to cast.
Where found: You begin with him. He's the good-looking fella in the red suit and the spikiest
haircut you'll ever see. Goemon is good for the beginning castles, however, later on he isn't
really much use unless his chain pipe is required.
EBISUMARU
Speed: slow
Main attack: hula hoop (eventually becomes "DANCER'S HOOP")
Secondary attack: shuriken
Powered up secondary attack: Magic shuriken. Bounces off of walls. Hit those hard-to-reach
places.
Magic Power: Mini-Ebisu: Causes Ebisumaru to become tiny, so he may fit through small gaps.
Where found: You begin with him also, press select to change to him at the start. Ebisumaru is
the fat fella in blue, he's great for traveling in Top-down view with, but not much use in the
castles unless a skill of his is required.
SASUKE
Speed: fast
Main attack: Kunai (eventually becomes "GOLDEN KUNAI") Also, if you hold 'up' in a
side-scrolling area, and then attack, his hair pops up and hits the enemy.
Secondary attack: Firecracker Bomb. Nothing special, but the arc makes it useful to hit things
above and below you.
Powered up secondary attack: None.
Magic power: Jutsu: Sasuke shoots eight fireballs from his body, costs 10 scrolls to cast.
Where found: At the end of first castle, once you've defeated him as the boss. The little robot
ninja is actually one of the best, his bombs are not good for fighting with but he can move
faster in a robo-suit. Wears green and has a blue pony tail.
YAE
Speed: fast
Main attack: KATANA (No power-up)
Secondary attack: Yae Bazooka. Nothing special. Really. I mean it.
Powered up secondary attack: None.
Magic power: Mermaid: Yae Turns into a mermaid to swim under water, can only be used in water,
if used on land, Yae is immobilised.
Where found: At the end of second castle. Yae has to be the best in a robot suit and she's the
best for the castles, use her when you can. Has long green hair.
(Justumaru sez: I prefer Sasuke, but you should NEVER rely on just one chara, make use of all
four!)
GOEMON-IMPACT (ONLY APPEARS FOR DESTRUCTION LEVELS AND IMPACT BOSSES!)
Speed: n/a
Main attack: punch (left or right)
Other attacks: Pipe Bomb, super punch and Jump attack (Jump attack only works in destruction
levels!!)
Secondary attack: Nasal medal
Magic power:n/a
Where found: first seen just before first castle, controlled after last NORMAL BOSS in EDO. The
very un-attractive looking (When I mean UN-ATTRACTIVE, I mean UGLY!) giant robot. Shows up for
the IMPACT BOSSES and DESTRUCTION levels.
CONTROLS
NORMAL "GOEMON" "EBISUMARU" "SASUKE" and "YAE"
Y: Attack/Pick up Box, Run
B: Jump/talk to someone
X: Map
A: Use Magic Power
L: Change weapon
R: Change weapon
SELECT: Change character
START: Pause
D-pad: Move
CHASE MODE "GOEMON" "EBISUMARU" "SASUKE" and "YAE"
B: Jump
A: speed boost
D-pad: select character
WHILE RIDING MECH
Y: Punch
A: Use Special Weapon
L: Select Special Weapon
R: Select Special Weapon
Note: Holding the attack button down enables the mech to dash at high speeds. Use at your
peril, as you can't attack while doing so.
GOEMON-IMPACT (BOSS CONTROLS)
Y: Jab
B: straight punch
X: Pipe Bomb
A: nasal medal
R: Block
L: Block
D-pad: Move sights
NOTE: There is a meter above each, the punch area and the nasal bullet area. By not punching,
the punch meter charges up. By holding down the nasal bullet button, the nasal bullets power
up. A full power nasal bullet fires a ring that does major damage (but isn’t very useful).
At full punch power, Straight Punch does a POWERFUL attack, but drains the meter. Jab is
faster, AND, against most Impact Bosses, if you continue pressing the jab button, you continue
jabbing the enemy. This makes Impact Bosses a cinch! It doesn’t drain the meter either.
5)Items
Rice Buns: There are 3 different kinds, the rice bun, the bean bun and the fish bun. The first
restores 3 hearts if you die, the second restores 8 (I think), and the last restores them all.
Always have one!
Helmets block shots. Armor blocks hits.
Straw Hat: Blocks one shot.
Steel Helmet: Blocks three shots.
Gold helmet: Blocks five shots.
Straw Raincoat: Blocks one hit.
Steel Armor: Blocks three hits.
Gold Armor: Blocks five hits.
I don’t know what its called, but it looks like a stack of three cans. If your in the mech,
and your down on energy, buy this and get back 50 energy!
Also i do not know what they are called, but they look like a big scroll. They provide ten
scrolls.
There are also key cards in the levels in Neo Edo (the future). There are two kinds- Silver and
Gold. Silver is only used once, and opens up silver doors. Gold is not ever used up, but
only opens gold doors, and only in the level your in.
There are other items, but if you need these, the what, why, and where will be mentioned then.
6)Helpful hints
-Don’t be stingy with the Ryo-based secondary weapons! They will save your life
(gee, don’t we say this every Goemon game?)!
-For a better jump, switch to your alternate weapon and charge up, but don't fire. Instead,
hold the button and jump.
-Don't ever be afraid to leave a level if your in dire straits. Progress will be retained,
so, if you need a breather, leave.
-When i say 'first answer', i mean the one on the left. Always.
-Just because it might be important, in japenese, 'yes' is two charachters long, while 'no'
is three.
-Just becuase i may have forgotten it, when you first reach Neo Edo, if you find yourself in
a building with a lot of bookcases, one of them has the aforementioned map, search them all.
-An inn has a man behind a desk, with a woman near the door. They say NEO HILTON on the back
wall if your in Neo Edo. The first option is 'yes', in this case 'stay'. The second is 'no'.
The third is 'SAVE'. Then your asked if you want to save, yes or no. Say 'yes', you've saved.
This is the second hardest thing you'll ever do in a japenese Goemon game. (The first being,
finishing it.)
-A shop should stick out like a sore thumb- its got a table with items on it. :P Go up to one
and press 'A', and say the first answer to buy it.
-Travel centers are the only shop that greets you with a voice track when you enter. The first
reply is 'Travel', which takes you to a town of your choice that you visited already (in the
order i list them in this document, but the town your in is not listed). The second is 'Mech',
which summons the mech to the Travel Center. Either of these costs 10 Ryo. The last one is
'Never Mind', which cancels. This is also an option on the 'Travel' menu, its the only reply
that does not have a dot in it.
7)Walkthrough
Oedo Town
First go to the shop left of your position (It has the KONAMI logo) Go inside and buy the rubber
ring (Walk up to the ring and press B, then the shopkeeper with ask you whether You want to buy
it, press B). Now come out of the shop and go left past the next structure, and then go north,
then head left. When you reach the gap in the wall, go through it and head north, then go left
you should then find the gateway to Horo, go in.
EXTRA: You don't HAVE to do this, but before going to Horo, go all the way south and then left,
until you reach a rocky area. There is a woman in a red kimono standing at one of the cliffs.
Say the first answer to lead her back to town, and do so. She'll give you a lock of hair.
Horo Woods
Walk right and you should find the river, walk down the steps into the river and swim right,
then climb up the steps on the other side, keep heading right, and then head up. You will now
see a ghostly woman armed with spinning plates, walk towards her to talk, the ghost will then
turn into a kitten, watch the conversation (This was Kerobe, the leader of the ninja cats and
first boss of Ganbare Goemon 1/Legend of the Mystical Ninja!!!). The kitten will then give you
some object and then leave. Smash the pot the kitten leaves for money . Then head north. You
then come across the grotesque Goemon-Impact, buried up to his neck in the forest floor. Walk
inside Goemon-Impact's gaping mouth to reach the first stage.
Stage 1
Go through the long hallway. Be careful of the spikes, and the fireball-throwing guy at the end
of the hall. Duck in the alcove near him and hit him when the fireball passes.
In the next room, go forward until you reach an area where you can see a door below. Go into
that door, and get the first fortune doll. Then go in the door at the top here, and go to the
left. Throw a secondary weapon at this platform to get it to turn your way, then go left some
more. When you find the yellow beam, duck, and throw a charged-up Ryo. Then, go down the ladder
and through the wall at your right for the second doll. Hit the switch above you, but
be careful of the fireball-chucker. Kill him, then go up and to the left, toss the box
onto the platform there, jump up and kill the guy. Hit the switch and proceed back to the
right. Enter the door here. Be careful! A large mechanical frog chases you now. Run/swim to
the left, but be careful of the falling spikes. Keep going, use your charged up ryo throw to
hit the switch, then go up and push the block to your left. You can go through the wall for
another fortune doll. Go up and hit the switches in this room so you can continue on.
Avoid the spikes and enter the door. GO TO YOUR RIGHT FIRST, OR YOU WILL MISS A FORTUNE DOLL
F O R E V E R! I'm serious, fortune dolls are too important to pass up even one. So don't!
Other levels can be re-entered to find the missing things, but not this one, so don't miss it!
Proceed to your left, killing enemies and jumping pits. If a pit ever seems too wide, charge
up your ryo throw, and hold the button. Viola! Better jump! Keep going and you'll face
the boss.
Boss 1- Frog Robot
Okay, Sasuke is riding the robot that was chasing you before! What?! Oh well, wait for the frog
to open its mouth, and hit it in its mouth. Avoid the baby frogs, and soon this thing will die.
After a conversation with Sasuke, You'll be asked if you want to save. Do it. Now you'll be
running away from Bisumaru's robot! Left and right move the cursor, B makes the selected person
leap, A (or Y) makes everyone run foward. Jump the spike bars and laser shots, and RUN when the
thing charges you. Soon, you'll escape it.
Festival Town
Visit the inn if you must. If you got the hair from Oedo, you can speak to a man in green, and
if you say the first answer, he'll give you something. Dunno what, quite, but it'll come in
handy... Don't quite know why tho... Anyway, exit to the left and then go up. Go in the house
as Sasuke, and play the game (say the first answer to the man). You must light the fireworks in
the order shown. The dialouge box is asking you if your ready (first answer), or if you'd like
to see it again (second answer). If you scucceed, you go on to a somewhat tougher challenge.
Do this enough times and you get Sasuke's firecracker bomb! Afterwards, go left all the way and
then up, use the bombs on the wooden gate, and enter the second level.
Stage 2
Go left, young man, and stand on the box. Hold up and throw a bomb, then enter the newly
made hole. Down the elevator, hit the button to make another elevator descend, then climb
on it and press up to go up. Enter the door and go left, then enter the door here. Hit the
button (which makes the elevator in the next room descend), and exit, continuing left.
Enter the door, go right, avoiding the spiked bars, go up the elevator and hit the button.
Before going up the elevator, go all the way right for a fortune doll. Then go up the elevator.
Go left and use the bombs to break the weak-looking walls, then go in the door. Go right,
enter the door, break the wall, and go up the elevator. Might want to go right for some coins
and a full restore, then go left. Enter the door, go right, jump on the platform and hit the
button, then ride the platform back left and jump off before it drops. Do not enter this door
yet. Instead, keep going left until you see a door. Enter it and go right, avoiding the spiked
bars. Hit the button and then leave. Go back right and enter the door i told you not to enter.
Go left and right for some coins, then go up the elevator. Enter the door and go left and
enter the door. Hit the button, then go back out and climb on the box. Jump on the conveyer
belts and go right. Enter this door. Up the elevator, over the platforms and through the door.
Go left and enter the door for a fortune doll, then go right until you cannot go further. Push
the box under the crack and bomb it, then hit the button. First, go back left about five doors
and enter to get a fortune doll. Then go right and enter the first door you see, and hit
the button. Quickly exit, go right and enter the next door, then climb on the platform. Enter
this door, proceed right and then down. Enter the hole in the roof, grab the doll, then proceed
down and then left to get the pass. Leave this level.
To the Ninja Village
After exiting, you'll meet Yae. After a conversation, it'll ask if you wish to save. Do it.
Then use the travel center to go back to Edo, and then go to the rocky area west of town.
Go north and a ninja will talk to you and then vanish. Most important thing to do here is to
enter one of the houses as Yae and play a mini-game for her Mermaid Change power. Use A to
transform, and then swim down and grab the golden balls, being careful not to get injured.
Get 15 of them, and the power is yours. Don't worry, you can always try again if you fail.
Speak to one of the ninjas and say the first reply for a sign. I don't know what it does,
but everyone tells me you can get it, and that i didn't say how, so, here, this is for you. :P
Then, enter the water, swim north, and use the mermaid change to enter the castle up there.
Stage 3
Just so you know, If i don't say 'swim' but the direction i mention includes water, i usually
mean for you to 'swim'. Go right, then down, then right and hit the switch to make the water
level fall. Then go left, bomb the green blocks and continue going left, then go down, then
left for a fortune doll, then go right, then swim down. Don't go in the first passage to the
right, but rather, go down and then take the left passage for a fortune doll. Then, go back to
the passage i told you to ignore. Go right, then down, then left for a fortune doll. Go right,
then up and hit the switch, then bomb the blocks for a fortune doll. Your top row should now
be full. Go back into the main shaft and go down, past the first left and then go right. Bomb
the blocks, swim down and hit the switch. Then go all the way down and head left for the
Magic Shell. The whole place starts to collapse! Head right, then up, then right as the water
rises. Swim if you have to. Go all the way right till you reach a door you could not access
before. Enter it and you'll be on an elevator going up. Kill the enemies that appear and avoid
getting crushed. After exiting, leaving this level is a snap.
Bisumaru Attacks!
Go back to the ninja town. You'll be asked if you want to save. Stay at the inn (you'll probably
need it), and go back to Edo. What's this? Everyone is wandering about spooked! What happened?
Go back to town... Er, what USED to be town, anyway! Bisumaru wasted it! He taunts you and then
sics a boss on you.
Boss 2- Slash
Hit this guy when he's still, then avoid him when he spins. He's pretty easy, actually.
Bisumaru appears again, and he's captured Omitsu! (Again? Groan...) He runs off, then you summon
Goemon-Impact. I STRONGLY suggest you save when it asks you, and then proceed through here,
killing as many guys as you can. Then you'll face the first Impact Boss!
Impact Boss 1- Bisumaru Elegant
This guy can be tricky. Hard punch him when he gets close, weak punch his hearts and other
bullets, and don't be afraid to guard if you don't think you can hit him.
When he blows up, he's still alive, and sucks you into the future!
The Future -Waking up and Getting Captured
You'll wake up as Sasuke and Yae. Proceed to the right, enter the water and swim to a ladder.
This area i will refer to as the First Town. Go down and over a bridge, then go left. You'll
get captured. Then Goemon and Ebisumaru will awaken. Go right and you'll have to fight a
weird police robot. After its gone, go to that same spot where Sasuke and Yae were captured.
Freedom
Use Goemon here. Use his powered up Ryo toss to hit the button, then go through here. Its not
tough, just watch out for the jail cells, ninja robots come out of them. When you hit one
particular button, and a jail cell opens, go inside. Sasuke is there. Then go north and you'll
find Yae. To beat this guy, only move when his back is turned. When the rope is within
range, hit it! When you hit it four times, Yae will be free. Then you have to kill the guy.
You should use the powered up Ryo, so you don't have to be close. You'll be asked if you want
to save. Do it.
Then, you'll be running away again, this time from a different robot. Jump to avoid its ball
strikes, and run when it charges you. When its arm shoots out, everyone must jump in turn,
BUT, from the direction of the ARM, not the claw. So, if the arm goes left, start jumping,
in turn from the LEFT. (BTW, if his claw never actually seperates from his arm, then ignore me,
may have been an emulator error...) Then you'll be free to explore a bit.
Goemon's Secret Magic- Sudden Impact
Not that you'll really need it, but to get Sudden Impact, simply go east, until you find a
busted-up bridge. Go under the bridge, and enter the house as Goemon. You'll play a mini-game
similar to Yae's. This time, A button activates Sudden Impact, and you must kill the frog in
30 seconds. You need to use Sudden Impact to win, naturally. Otherwise, its no different than
the first boss of the game.
Ebisumaru's Super Shuriken
This, you WILL need, so hop to! Enter houses again and again, and keep trying to enter the
shop. Eventually, you'll get knocked away by a weird cat-guy, who then vanishes. Follow the
trail of fish skeletons, and when it stops in front of a house, enter it. You'll get the
Super Shuriken.
On to the next Stage
Now, go to the south area of town. You'll have to swim under the bridges as Yae. There's an
area with a shady-looking guy dressed in red, the object here is to follow him to his house,
without him seeing you. If he sees you, go away and enter a house, and he'll return. Be
careful, it can be tricky. When he does enter the house, you can go on to the next Stage.
There's a glowing sign outside. This means you can save. Do so.
Stage 4
Head to your right, and soon you'll find out why you needed the Super Shuriken- There's a
switch above you that cannot be hit, save for with the super shuriken. Stand a little back,
and throw it, and hopefully, it will bounce into the switch. Keep going and push the box so
you can jump up. Go right, and bomb a brick to keep going right, and grab the key card.
Then go back and climb the ladder. Get off at the top. You'll see a switch above you. Jump
and face the left wall, fire off a bouncing shuriken and it will hit the switch. Climb the
newly formed staircase to your left, hit the button, and grab the keycard. Hit the button
again to go down and now go right, then drop down and keep going right. Hit the buttons to
get the converyers to go the right way, then leap on the boxes. Careful, the sides are
spiked! In the third room, to make things easier, when you enter, switch to Ebi and lay down.
Then fire his bouncing shuriken. Now you can cross. Don't go in this next door yet, but
instead, hit the button. The crane will drop a box and break the wire. Go to the right and
into the door for a key card, then bounce off the wire and go up. Go into the door up there,
and climb the ladder. Then go right and destroy the generator. This will make the white gunk
that flooded some hallways disappear. Then, go back to where the crane dropped a box, and
enter the door i told you not to enter. Go up this lift, in the door, go right into another
door, then up the ladder, then left and into a door. Climb the allder, but watch out for the
flamethrowers as you go. Then go down the other ladder. Go left and hit the button, then
climb up the conveyers. Be careful of the spinning enemies that fall onto the conveyers.
Go left, and be careful of the statue heads. Don't get hit by them or the energy waves they
emit when they land. Take the high road here and bomb some blocks to go down. Go right and
bomb a block for a fortune doll. Enter this door, go down the ladder, enter this door, hit
the button, go down and left, then up the ladder until you reach a high room (its one above
the gold doors). Use Sasuke's bomb to hit the button and quickly jump to the new platform.
Grab the fortune doll, go all the way back down and to the right. Avoid the statue heads and
then climb the right-hand ladder. Hit both snake-rat things and go left, then right and grab
the silver and gold key cards. Then drop down and go right. Go up the ladder, past the room
with the silver doors, and grab another key card. Then go right for a life restore, and left
for a fortune doll. Now, go all the way left, past the stairs, up the ladder and into the
room with the gold doors. Go left, and you'll receive an important tool- the Mech! This thing
has good reach, and more importantly, its punches break stuff! Use it to break through these
walls, and then go down and left. Yes, your back where you started. Don't worry! This is where
you are supposed to be! Step on the yellow wire with the mech. Go right for a fortune doll,
then go left and break the walls. Step on the wire, and grab the plate. Watch this sequence,
and you'll again be outside.
Your a Mech Pilot Now, Baby!
In this area, rusted boxes return if you leave the screen, but unrusted ones don't, so, break
all the unrusted boxes you see, and you'll find all kinds of nifty stuff! Your next goal is the
town in the southeast i refer to as the Second Town (don'cha ya just love my clever naming
schemes? *laugh track*)
Erhem, now, you can't do anything in the area north of town, so instead, go east. In an area
with a bunch of thieves, go north and enter the house as Sasuke for his secret magic (which,
like Goemon's, you don't need). Then, go east, maneuver this dam, and eventually you'll find
the Second Town.
The Second Town
Doesn’t this place look depressing? It seems someone has stolen this town's water supply.
Hm... Don't dawdle! There's an area towards the east part of the town that has a staircase.
Up it is a church. Go here with the mech and break the mirror in the back of the church.
Satan (yes, that's right, Satan, you heard me, its Satan) will appear and give Ebi a new hoop,
the Dancer's Hoop. This means that Ebisumaru can now hold up and attack, and in doing so will
be able to hit things above him and grab onto pegs. Hm? What's that? We haven't seen any pegs,
have we? Just wait... Leave here, and go east. There's a large castle-looking thing here, Save,
then enter it. Bomb the uncracked portion of the floor with Sasuke and go down the stairs.
NOW, you’ll see pegs...
Stage 5
By the way, if things look weird, its because your in a school, i think... Anyway, take the high
road to the right. You'll soon see a big jump, and a message will appear. This is Ebi's cue.
Switch to Ebisumaru, stand at the edge, hold up and hit the attack button AND HOLD IT. Ebi
will hold his hoop up. Now, jump towards the pegs, and it'll grab on. Jump from peg to peg and
proceed right. Grab the key card and go in the door. Switch to Sasuke, and throw bombs to hit
the switches. Its not easy, just try not to fall off, or you'll have to start again.
(Alternatively, you could hit the falling spiked balls with any weapon, if the balls hit the
switch, it'll register too.)
Climb the ladder and go right. Drop down for a gold fortune doll, then climb back up and go
right. Push the boxes in the way of the flamethrowers to make them stop. Then pick up the
smaller box, throw it onto the raised platform, and pick it up again. Use it like an umbrella
to avoid the ceiling-mounted flamers. MOVE SLOW, or you will be fricasseed. Now, switch to Ebi
and proceed slowly down this shaft. Watch out for the top-spinning tots, they can be tricky.
Keep going down, then go left, hit the button to summon the mech, and enter the door. Break the
blocks with the mech, and then enter the archway. You'll get the flamethrower. Now, climb back
up the shaft and go back left, past the flamers, etc., etc. Summon the mech here, use the
flamethrower on the door to the left, and then go down. Make sure you stick to the right, as
you can pick up an energy lantern (one of four in this level) here. Summon the mech, burn the
door, get the key, then fall down. Your back to the start. If your feeling punchy, NOW is a
good time to return to town and buy junk and rest. Or at least save. Whenever your ready, go
right, ignore the door this time. Summon the mech, burn the door, and go right. Hit these
caterpillars with the flamethrower when they are close to the ledges and jump up on them when
they faint. Now, your in a large vertical corridor with a statue in it. Push the statue into
the indentation in the floor. NOW things get tough. Fire shoots out of the floor, breaking the
yellow platforms that would have blocked your path. You must avoid the fire and go up. It
ascends and descends regularly, so time your jumps and don't panic. On the left as you ascend
is an energy lantern. Keep going up, don't go left, just keep ascending. Go all the way left,
grab the key, then drop down for an energy lantern. Get in the mech and drop back down and go
back right at the bottom. This is another good chance to recharge. Go into the door you first
entered when you got here. I know, 'WHAT?!', bear with me, the level designs are weird,
M.C. Escher himself would be confused. Anyway, go back up, but this time, keep going up.
Use the flamethrower on the buttons to kill the roof turrets and keep going up. Now, switch to
Ebi, but watch out- the pegs here retract into the wall, timing is critical. Go right, then
down, then left the moment you can. Push the statue down and to the right, into the indentation
like before. Then climb all the way up. Avoid the punching hands as you ride the elevator,
and enter the door at the top. Switch to Sasuke, bomb the blocks, and be quick about it, or
you'll get crushed! Just don't move too fast, or you'll be counted as falling down a pit. >_<
Get the key at the bottom, then climb back up and take the third left as you go. Go across
the conveyor belts and enter the door. Summon the mech and kill the roof turrets, like before.
Don't get hit by the things spat out by the octopus things, though. They will drain your energy.
Punch them off if that happens, however. Climb up, avoid the flamethrowers in the walls,
and enter the door. Climb up and get the Gold Keycard, then get the energy lantern at the
bottom, before summoning the mech, breaking the wire, and falling down. Now its time to fight
the boss and leave this $%^#!@ level!
Boss 3- The Hand
Avoid its attacks and hit its face. Its probably best if you don't use the mech, but its up
to you.
Once you kill it, you'll get the second metal plate and have another conversation with the
enemy. You'll get the Magic Shell, and summon Impact for a duel with the dam!
Impact Boss 2- The Dam
Quick punch the bullets and missiles, then fire at the places they came from. Once you get
close enough, an army of crow planes and ninja will assault you. Kill them, and an eye will
eventually appear. Wait for your power punch to charge up and then hard punch the eye. Powered
up bullets work too. Once its destroyed, this job is over!
Water, Water Everywhere
Now, go to the lower west quadrant of the Second Town with the mech. Use the flamethrower on the
cannon, and then go north, through the now-busted gate. Get Mini-Ebi from the mini-game here.
Use Mini-Ebi to dodge the shots, you should know the deal by now. When your ready, go through
that lovely hole in the dam you made, to enter another town!
The Dam Town
When you feel like it, go into the upper right area of the town and use Mini-Ebi to get to
the button. Hit it, and enter this stage with the Mech.
Stage 6
This is really short. :P Go through the small hall with Mini-Ebi, push the blocks down, go
right, push the blocks down, then go right, push the block out, then jump up with the mech,
burn the wall and drop down. Make sure your Ebisumaru.
Boss 4- Wall Crawler
This is simple. The pegs in the center pull the bands on the side taught. When one of the
creatures the boss spits is on the band and adjacent to the boss, pull the peg opposite of that
band with Ebi (the center peg pulls the center band), and let fly! This thing is a wimp. :P
Get a plate, get a tongue-lashing from the enemy ninja, and get a move on!
Sasuke's Gold Kunai
Like the Super Shuriken deal, enter houses and keep trying to enter the shop in the Dam Town.
When you get knocked away by a cat, follow the trail of junk he leaves behind, and then whack
him. You'll get the Gold Kunai. Use this to get to the Snow Town (its not hard to reach). But
first...
Get the Chain Pipe
Just north of the First Town is a tunnel where miners are. Talk to them to get the Chain Pipe.
No, you can't get it any earlier. Sorry. :P Now proceed to...
The Snow Town
Once here, up the stairs is a building with a mousehole in it. Enter it with Mini-Ebi and say
the first reply twice to the tiny man to get him to move a rock. Proceed to the right once you
go up stairs. You need to use the Chain Pipe to proceed. Now, if you want the fortune dolls,
look below. Otherwise, simply proceed to the next stage. Remember that any blocks with that
peculiar symbol on it can be grabbed onto with the Chain Pipe. There are too many of them for
me to mention it all, you should know this game by this late.
Stage 7
This stage is NOT short. Pull up your socks, boys and girls, this is TOUGH! Bring the mech in
with you Go right, yes, the Gold Kunai will cut these statues. Then, use the mech to break the
wire and go down. Go right and go down. Enter the door and proceed to the right. Quickly, use
Yae to swim down or you'll take a hit. You can see the key card in this room. Reach it by
swimming through the ceiling, you should be able to see where, its the third block from the
left. Get the lantern and the key. Enter the door, go left and keep going, past the pit
with the posts above it. Hit the button and keep going. Now, go up, then left, then down, and
down again, and down again. Go left here, its probably easier if you go over the crushing
weights, as there's a fireball-chucker here. Keep going left, then kill the bubble-blower, and
go down. Now, swim down, hit the button (which drains the water, the memories, huh?), and enter
the door. In this room, the lights go out unless your standing under a platform. Use that to get
your bearings. Spikes ine this hall now. Get the keycard, but be careful, as your probably going
to take a hit when you grab it. Keep going left. Now, go up, yes, you need to use the Chain
Pipe. Now, go right. Go up here with the Chain Pipe and enter the door for an Energy Lantern.
Now, go back into that room you were in before and go right, enter the door, hit the button and
now go left. Hit the button, then stand on the yellow platform that appears. The water will
rise. Now go right, then down, then right again. Hit the spiked ball into the watery thing
above it to flood this hall. Now, go back left, follow this path, watch out for the
bucket-throwers (One of them looks like Bisumaru, good god!), and then go down. Avoid the
spikes, and ride the bubbles up for the Gold Keycard. Now, go right, ride the bubbles up,
get the lantern, and then go right. Avoid the spikes and the spiked balls, go right, then up,
summon the mech, go back down, then go right, get the Ice power, and then go back left.
Freeze the water creature, and punch the damn thing. Once its dead, go left and into the door.
Go up and use your ice power to freeze these guys and use them as stepping stones. Also, your
ice power will freeze the jello-like blocks, allowing you to break them. Enter the door with
the mech and go right, then up, then right for a lantern, then left and then up, and then right.
Freeze the geysers and climb up, but when you see the yellow wire, get out of the mech and go
across it. You'll get a gold fortune doll. Trust me, you'll need it. Break the wire and prepare
to fight the toughest boss yet.
Boss 5- Ancient Ship
God Damn it! Shouldn't this guy be in Parodious or something?! Okay, THIS is tough. First,
attack the ice shell until it breaks. When its arms come out, penguins will appear from the
bottom of the screen. Freeze them and punch them into the ship. If it ever opens its glowing
eye, use the Chain Pipe to cling onto the ceiling and avoid it... But its almost impossible
to get the timing down. Eventually, this thing will die, you'll get the next metal plate,
and get the hell out of here!
The Factory Town
Now, go to the miners. The tunnel is completed. Enter this town, buy the rightmost item in the
shop. This will make a bird pick you up and drop you near a button. Hit it to destroy some
barrels, then just follow this obvious trail to the next level. But bring the Mech.
Stage 8
Short level! Go left, hit the button, take the mech, go left, freeze the jello and break in,
then drop down and fight a really weird boss.
Boss 6- Oni Faces
Okay, this is strange. Pick up the little thing on the ground, and hold it under the laser
fixture on the ceiling. If its a red beam, try to make it hit the blue face, and if its a blue
beam, try to get it to hit the red one. Strange, but not tough. Get the next plate, get informed
that the enemy thinks its beddy-bye time for you, get serious, get Impact!
No destruction phase this time, just a one on one between you and that thing that chased you
around way back at the start of the future...
Impact Boss 3- Ninja Robot
Only try to punch if it- 1. Throws balls at you (quick punch), or 2. Gets right next to you,
in which case, pound on the quick punch button. If it does ANY OTHER ATTACK, ANY ATTACK AT ALL,
you must B L O C K ! ! ! You can't stop this punk's attacks! Except... If he launches a disc at
you, you have to hit it. Pray you don't get the skull, he becomes invincible and super-fast for
a few seconds. This guy is overwhelming. But... You do have two Laser Mouths and 600 health,
so this shouldn't be difficult.
Once that's over with, its time... TIME TO GET READY, AND BEAT THIS GAME!
(If your a friend of mine, you'll understand the capitals...)
Return to the First Town. Go to the place near where Yae and Sasuke were captured, where a fat
guy is running into a building. Talk to him while in the mech and say the first option. Then,
punch the building when he rams into it. You'll get a flag. Now, take this flag to the empty
shop in the same town, where a woman stands outside. Talk to her and say the first option to
give it to her, she'll open the shop (which has AWSOME items!) and give you a biscuit (i
think). Now, go to the Second Town and talk to the dog nearby where you enter. Say the first
option and he'll give you a red... thing. Take this... thing to the Dam Town. Enter the only
house in this town where you need to swim to get to it. Say the first option and you'll get a
lemon. Go to the Snow Town, enter the house where you find a faceless woman (your charachter
starts freaking out when they see her), and after you choose the first option, she'll take the
lemon and give you some seeds. Now, go to the Factory Town. Go to the field in the lower left
area. Say the first option twice to the man wandering there. Go north of here, to a large
open archway, where you'll find a man lounging on his back. Then go back to the guy at the
feild. You'll get... THE CUCUMBER! No, its not for Yae, you fool... Go to the lake nearby the
Snow Town. The Kappa there will ask you for the cucumber, say the first option and he'll...
GIVE YOU THE LAST THREE METAL PLATES!!! YES! Now, hurry, back to the Factory town, and to the
glass wall in the very north area. Place the plates in the following order:
3 6 4 5 2 1 7 8
Now its time to send the main baddies packing! Prepare for-
Impact Boss 4- Transforming Robot
That arrogant redhead that you've been seeing all through the game finally faces you in person.
This guy is kinda tricky, so watch it. First, he's a lion. When the rockets throw flames at
you, weak punch, and hit him (perferbally with rapid weak punches) when he CHARGES at you,
NOT while he's bouncing around. Once he's taken enough punishment, he'll turn into a swordsman.
Also, Bisumaru's flying head from way, way back when you trashed his Bisumaru Elegant robot
will come in and fuse with this thing, and then it will attack you. When it leaps at you,
you must hard punch it. When he throws his flaming swords at you, hard punch it, or you'll
take way too much damage. If he leaps into the air and lands in front of you, weak punch it
rapidly. When he shoots little flames at you, just block. Yes, you'll take hits. If it makes
you feel better, use a Laser Mouth.
When he's defeated, he'll run away, and you'll enter a new area, where your confronted by the
mind controlled Wise Man! Note that, if you have to continue, or resume a saved game, you start
from this point.
Boss 7- Wise Man
He makes the room spin and he drops junk on you. Ignore him, the real enemy is the face in the
background. It will fire lasers at you, avoid them. When dolls or tea kettles drop down, stand
next to the wall and hit them, it will hit the face. This will make Wise Man coast about,
hitting the walls, avoid him. Continue until its destroyed.
Wise Man is now free, and Yae and Sasuke usher him to saftey. Goemon and Ebisumaru continue
onwards. Go up the elevator and confront the bad guy, whose holding Omitsu hostage. He'll take
the Magic Shell, and run away, but Omitsu is freed. Or is she? It was just Bisumaru in
disguise! Goemon does what me and all my friends have wanted to do for half a year, but
its a hollow victory... The bad guy has the conch shell and the real Omitsu! Yae and Sasuke
come along in Goemon Impact to back you up... The bad guy tries something weird, but you wind
up going back to your own time instead of dying... And now its time to face...
The Final Boss- Dark Impact!
When he hangs to one side and fires Nasal Bullets, block on that side. When he does an
extending punch, hard punch it. When he barrels at you in a ball, hard punch it. When he rushes
at you, swinging like a madman... You get the idea. He'll use the Laser Mouth, when he does so,
either block or use your own. Bah! Give me Spring Breeze Dancin'! He'd make this guy beg for
his mommy!
Well, the ending isn't all that hard to understand... Tho, judging by the last frame before
the credits, i'm unsure that i WANT to understand it more...
Well, that's it. You can all go home now. Go on. Get.

10)Special Thanks
Thanks to:
Gerimon Impact (

me how to get the Dancer’s Hoop and what to do with it. Also, for being so cool!
Maguamaru (
[email protected])for the Pro Action Reply codes, and being a pal. Also, for
finding...
Bluey and Celia Ashcroft, who wrote a Goemon FAQ of their own, which, unlike mine, told you how
to get the cucumber and access the final battles! Kudos!
Dochuki the Mighty, for being Dochuki the Mighty. Hell, somebody’s gotta do it! :)
J Man (
[email protected]) and his friend Rikdzin for helping me find a few solutions.
CJayC for posting this at Gamefaqs.com
YOU, for reading this! :)
??)And now a special message from the author...
*a young man, of about 21, with blonde hair and a slim build walks to the center of the screen.
He's dressed in what appears to be a mock-up of the Spring Breeze Dancin' costume, wings and
all. He calmly, slowly draws a Masamune sword from his belt, points the tip downwards, and,
taking the hilt in both hands, stabs the ground very hard with the sword, causing a bolt of
lightning to come down from the sky, turning everything bright white for a second, and cutting
a miles-deep, miles-long trench in the earth. He the sheathes the sword again, and waits for
the noise to cease before speaking*
Greetings, i am Justumaru. You may be wondering what the point of this display was. Well, its
simple. It was to demonstrate that my power is absolute- I am now the first non-japenese that
i know of to beat not only Gomeon 4, but ALL FIVE Goemons for the Super Nintendo. Thus, i feel
confident in not only retaining, but reaffirming my title as The Mightiest Gaijin In The World.
Now, admitted, i could not have done this alone. Without assistance, i never would have
completed this game... But, note the word, COMPLETED- I was at the end. I never would have found
this solution on my own, i'll admit that. Nobody becomes the best by themselves, after all.
There were many who helped me along the way, and for that, i thank them all. Their names are
in the Thanks section, and they know just who they are. This FAQ is deditcated to them, my
close friends.
*he bows, and then turns to walk away, but then stops and turns back for a moment*
Oh, i almost forgot. Above all, always remember, who is the boss of you? ME! I AM THE BOSS OF
YOU!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!
*just then, a bolt of lightining strikes him, causing him to stumble into the creavse he
created, never to be heard from again... That is, until, his next FAQ...*
THE END?
