** 1 - INTRODUCTION - **
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is another one of the guides that I've written for the
Fire Emblem series, by Eaichu250.
It's for the game only released in Japanese
(though, there have been translation, spoof releases for a long while now.)
and counts as one of my favorite Strategy
RPGs of all time. The purpose of this guide is to cover detail and
statistic data for the many characters in Fire Emblem: Seisen No Keifu!
I'm hoping that this FAQ is enough to answer any question
that you may have about the
characters of Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu.

** 2 - THE CHARACTERS - **
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a lot of characters within this game...
It's important for a Strategy RPG to
contain many plot elements and this usually
can only be obtained by having a long range
of diverse, enjoyable characters.
It certainly has done well in Seisen No Keifu's situation.
Who exactly are all of the characters?
To make it simple, they're all divided into these
categories that I have placed them into.
I'll be separating the characters by the continent
that they should belong to, according of
heritage or holy blood.
These are known as Grandbell, Silesia, Thracia, Agustria,
Verdane and Isaac.
For enemies,
I'll have them pertaining to the groups or countries that

** I. PLAYABLE CHARACTERS **
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This section will be covering all of the characters that can be
recruited or join automatically in the game. In this section, I will
write a small biography of their life, their personality to the best
extent that I possibly can... Along with this, I will note all of their
specific statistic growth rates, base stats, classes and class
changes.. Just so that you receive the best benefit of knowing how
these characters grow.
Note: For growth rates, you may notice that there is an ADDITION to the
character's base growth rates. The reason for this is because they have
holy blood, which increases growth rates in certain catergories.
Note 2: When displaying HOLY BLOOD, there will be a small mark by the
holy blood inherited. If there is a * that means they have inherited
full blood, which puts the signature weapon at * rank and grants them
the use of the holy weapon. No * rank means that they get a stepup in
the weapon skill.
LORD SIGURD:
The young son of Lord Vylon of Chalphy.
Sigurd is not very intelligent nor a man to really take care of
himself, even bad enough to be called a slob due to how he takes life
on. However, he's revered as a strong fighter, especially because of
linage to the Crusader Baldo and is generally a nice, caring person for
those around him, he wouldn't allow even a fly to hurt those that he
cares about.
Sigurd becomes involved in the war when Prince Gandolf of Verdane tries
to take over Grandbell. When Gandolf successfully takes over Jungby
Castle, Sigurd is enraged and wishes to rescue Edin from their
clutches.
Level 5 Lord Knight -> No Promotion
HP: 35(70% + 40%)
STR: 14(30% + 20%)
MGC: 0(5%)
SKL: 11(30% + 20%)
SPD: 12(30%)
LUK: 7(20% + 20%)
DEF: 9(40%)
MDEF: 3(5%)
LEADERSHIP: 2 STARS
SKILLS: PURSUIT
INITIAL GOLD: 5000G
ARMS: STEEL SWORD, IRON LANCE
HOLY BLOOD: BALDO*
RECRUITING: PROLOGUE(TURN 1)
As a unit, Sigurd is among the best. His class, Lord Knight, is one of
the worst out of the entire group of promoted mounted units.. However,
since he gains a boost from leadership and has strong growth rates,
along with A-SWORD ability, he is a contender to any enemy unit. Among
this, he eventually gains the strength of the Holy Tierfing. Leveling
is strongly suggested.
ADAN:
An Armor Knight under the service of Chalphy.
Adan doesn't possess much of a bright mind, since he's a bit clueless
and tends to talk about things in a rather dumb manner. Among all this,
though, Adan has a heart of gold. He's a caring person, though a bit
low on self esteem... He dislikes how people make fun of the whole fact
that he's slow(Maybe as both a fighter and an individual?) and that
he's rather ugly, too.
Adan ends up being involved in the war because Alec mentions how they
need an Armor Knight to help defend Chalphy castle.. And Alec mentions
that the perfect man for the job would definitely be Adan. He's a
retainer to Sigurd, thus he would stay loyal to him and help fight his
battles.
Level 3 Sword Armor -> General
HP: 36(90%)
STR: 13(50%)
MGC: 0(5%)
SKL: 5(10%)
SPD: 4(20%)
LUK: 3(10%)
DEF: 13(40%)
MDEF: 0(5%)
SKILLS: AMBUSH
INITIAL GOLD: 2000G
ARMS: IRON SWORD
HOLY BLOOD: NONE
RECRUITING: PROLOGUE(TURN 1)
Adan? He's mainly all defense, strength and HP. Which certainly is not
a bad thing, but any new player will have problems leveling him if they
decide to use rush strategies... And Adan must immediately be brought to
around Lv. 15-20 to be able to keep up, and after that point, Adan
starts to truly show his worth, being the only unit that can take a
swarm, be hit every single time, and still boast enough strength to
keep it up for a several turns longer. Adan is the epitome of perfect
defense in the first generation, and he is still quite a good duelist,
but if you're looking for a powerful character from the getgo, Adan
won't be much of a contender until he's actually promoted.
Only be leveling up if you're prepared to receive a low rank due to
having a long amount of turns tacked onto your record. Otherwise, Adan
is best left in the dust.
Adan is best paired with no one, actually-he offers a good, solid
defense along with nice HP and defense, but his lack of skills won't be
a good match for his children. Since Lex offers better statistic growth
and better skills, Adan is left in the dust.
NOICHE:
A Social Knight under the service of Chalphy.
Noiche is a very determined individual, and seems to think very highly
of his abilities, though he's only strong in that regard due to the
fact that he tries his best to make sure his Lord is not facing
problems or death due to battle. From what can be noted, Noiche also
has a bit of anger problem, bursting out if serious duties are being
played around with.
Noiche ends up being involved because he refuses to have Sigurd go out
alone against the army of Verdane. From that point on, he serves Sigurd
until the very end.
Level 3 Social Knight -> Paladin
HP: 33(80%)
STR: 11(40%)
MGC: 0(5%)
SKL: 7(30%)
SPD: 8(20%)
LUK: 4(20%)
DEF: 8(40%)
MDEF: 0(5%)
SKILLS: DUEL, BERSERK
INITIAL GOLD: 2000G
ARMS: STEEL SWORD
HOLY BLOOD: NONE
RECRUITING: PROLOGUE(TURN 1)
Unfortunately, Noiche is one of the worst characters. His starting
statistics are pretty nice, and his growth rates aren't too bad,
considering how he'll end up excelling in HP, STR and defense... However,
his bad class(Social Knight, Paladin) combined with the fact that he
didn't receive Pursuit as an initial skill kind of leaves him out
rather badly. Leveling isn't suggested, for he will only turn out to be
an average character at best.
Noiche is best paired with Ayra and Bridgette, due to the fact that he
passes down decent growth rates in all catergories, handing out an
especially nice boost to STR and DEF. Along with this, Noiche passes
down two awesome skills that work very well when combined with a high
SKL score, which is what Ayra's kids will end up with. With Bridgette,
Noiche will pass down good skills so that Patty will be an excellent
fighter once promoted and that Faval can make excellent use of his DUEL
& BERSERK skill since he attacks at a distance and also possesses a
good SKL score.
ALEC:
A Social Knight under the service of Chalphy.
Alec is the opposite of Noiche in nearly every regard. He's a joking,
lighthearted individual, though he does take his duties seriously..
He's also a bit of a flirt, considering how he approaches Sylvia and
the way that he speaks with Bridgette in their lover conversation, but
he is still a very straight arrow with those he loves.
Alec gets involved due to the fact that he's a knight under Sigurd,
he's liable to come along with Sigurd and Noiche against the Verdane
army.
Level 2 Social Knight -> Paladin
HP: 32(70%)
STR: 9(30%)
MGC: 0(5%)
SKL: 9(40%)
SPD: 10(30%)
LUK: 4(30%)
DEF: 7(30%)
MDEF: 0(5%)
SKILLS: PURSUIT, AWARENESS
INITIAL GOLD: 2000G
ARMS: IRON SWORD
HOLY BLOOD: NONE
RECRUITING: PROLOGUE(TURN 1)
Alec is another decent fighter, but he's just barely above Noiche due
to the fact that he has PURSUIT and may end up a tad more well rounded.
If you end up being unlucky with him, he'll end up being absolutely
worthless, but if you're lucky enough, he'll be like a second Sigurd.
Alec can be paired with anyone, since he offers decent stat growth and
has PURSUIT as an initial skill. However, he doesn't excel over any
other characters to be a liable pairing, since he does offer less than
other characters... He's really only there if you're desperate.
AZEL:
Azel is the younger brother of Lord Alvis.
Azel's a rather shy, love struck character amongst the rest. He isn't
very good at talking about his feelings with others, especially in the
cases where he likes Edin but absolutely refuses to admit it. He's
still rather nice and always willing to lend a shoulder to those that
are feeling down... He also has the case of being very headstrong about
family, not even willing to harm those related even if they were
performing the worst crimes.
Azel becomes involved in the war when he finds out that Verdane bandits
had abducted Lady Edin of Jungby. Because he has a crush on Edin, he
didn't hesitate in coming along to help out with the situation.
Level 1 Mage -> Mage Knight
HP: 30(50% + 20%)
STR: 0(10%)
MGC: 10(10% + 30%)
SKL: 7(20%)
SPD: 9(50%)
LUK: 2(20%)
DEF: 2(20%)
MDEF: 6(10%)
SKILLS: PURSUIT
INITIAL GOLD: 2000G
ARMS: FIRE BOOK
HOLY BLOOD: Fala
RECRUITING: PROLOGUE(TURN 2)
Azel is one of the lesser characters in the game. Before promotion,
he's going to have problems keeping up with the rest of the troop due
to the fact that he's a very easy target compared to the rest.. And
while he does have good speed, he excels in Fire Magic, which weighs
the user down terribly. After promotion, he's barely decent with a Wind
or Elwind spell. Even so, he certainly isn't anything special. His
class, Mage & Mage Knight adds bad base statistics, which means that he
isn't going to end up too powerful when capped out. I don't suggest
leveling.
However, Azel does have some pretty nifty positive points. Being a Mage
Knight, Azel can work fairly well as a hit and run unit, given that he
has a proper spell(Preferably Elwind or Elthunder, he is not effective
with Fire magic!) and has defense on his back. Since a Mage Knight is a
mounted unit, they can flee after making attacks, which does remove
Azel's worse point from when he was a Mage. If you plan on using him,
try having a couple combinations of rings, preferably with MAGIC or
SKILL since those are his weak points-and if you want him to be taking
hits, you can add on a DEFENSE ring so he can survive longer.
Pairing wise.. He isn't too bad of a contender. Since he offers solid
growth rates in speed and magic(Due to Fala.) and has the skill of
PURSUIT, he'll make a good father to Mages. Otherwise, he's utterly
useless as a candidate, since his other growth rates aren't solid
enough for any physical fighters. Best pairings are Tiltyu and Edin.
LEX:
Lex is the young, rebellious son of Duke Langobolt. The younger brother
of two children.
Lex is another one of the joking types, though he still knows how to
take things seriously when the situation demands a serious face. He's a
very likable character, especially since he has enough lines in the
story that you get to know him a little bit.
Lex becomes involved in the war since Azel dragged him along. Though,
he doesn't seem to like Sigurd's affairs too much, he mainly just helps
out for the sake of his friend, Azel.
Level 4 Axe Knight -> Great Knight
HP: 33(70% + 20%)
STR: 10(40%)
MGC: 0(5%)
SKL: 10(20%)
SPD: 11(20%)
LUK: 8(20%)
DEF: 9(20% + 30%)
MDEF: 0(5%)
SKILLS: ELITE, AMBUSH
INITIAL GOLD: 5000G
ARMS: IRON AXE
HOLY BLOOD: Neir
RECRUITING: PROLOGUE(TURN 2)
Lex is one of the best mounted units in the entire game. From when he
first joins, he isn't anything too special, just being able to dish out
a nice amount of damage in one hit and maybe take a few in return.. But
after he receives the Heroes Axe, and maybe a Pursuit Ring, you'll see
that he truly starts to become very effective. Lex gains levels
quickly, which means he'll be ahead of your other units if you use him
regularly. It's definitely suggested that Lex is leveled, because even
if he turns out bad as a fighter, he's excellent to use as mobile
defense.
Lex is a good contender for being paired up. For Ayra, he will offer
good growth rates in HP, STR and DEF, which are some of the weak points
that she originally possesses.. Along with ELITE, which means that
Ayra's kids will already grow faster than they do! For Tiltyu, he
offers the skill of AMBUSH, it's just that her children may end up
growing statistics awkwardly, and they will be at a loss due to having
no PURSUIT skill. Best pairing is Ayra.
CUAN:
Cuan is the Prince of Lenster, husband of Ethrin.
Arrogant, determined and strong is what would describe Cuan in a few
words. He thinks very highly of himself, especially in the field of
battle, and especially after he receives the Gayborg(Nothing can defeat
him, eh?!), but he does have reason to be thinking like that. He's
helpful towards his friends, going out of his way to bring himself into
combat for the sake of Sigurd.
Cuan ends up being involved because Ethlin ends up informing him(?)
about the skirmish with Verdane, and he's brought into it with her..
And also brings along a knight named Fin,
Level 4 Duke Knight -> No Promotion
HP: 34(70% + 40%)
STR: 16(30% + 20%)
MGC: 0(5%)
SKL: 10(30%)
SPD: 10(20% + 20%)
LUK: 5(10%)
DEF: 10(30% + 20%)
MDEF: 3(5%)
SKILLS: CONTINUE
INITIAL GOLD: 5000G
ARMS: STEEL LANCE, JAVALIN
HOLY BLOOD: Noba*
RECRUITING: PROLOGUE(TURN 3)
Cuan is only really a decent character; despite how high his growth
rates look. Because of the fact that he only has a decent class(Duke
Knight) which has rather bad statistic caps, combined with the fact
that his evasion and skill pairings aren't too hot makes him a little
iffy compared to the others. Since Cuan also leaves in Chapter 4 and
doesn't come back, you may think twice about even bothering to level
him... Cuan is barely solid, but he isn't much better than that.
FINN:
Finn is a Lenster knight.
Finn doesn't have much of a personality throughout the first half of
the game, but he starts to show more character through the second half.
He's very devoted to Cuan, Ethlin and Lenster as a whole throughout the
entire game, even sacrificing everything for the good of the country.
He also has a bit of a biased air towards Thracia, though this only
appears apparent after Cuan falls to Trabant in the Yied Desert.
Finn ends up being involved in the war when Cuan decides to bring him
along, rather than the Lanzenritter.
Level 1 Lance Knight -> Duke Knight
HP: 32(70%)
STR: 9(30%)
MGC: 0(5%)
SKL: 8(40%)
SPD: 10(30%)
LUK: 8(50%)
DEF: 7(30%)
MDEF: 0(0%)
SKILLS: PURSUIT, PRAYER
INITIAL GOLD: 2000G
ARMS: IRON LANCE
HOLY BLOOD: NONE
RECRUITING: PROLOGUE(TURN 3)
Finn is in, reality, one of the best characters in the first
generation. Before promotion, he's only rather decent, being able to
hold his own efficiently enough, but no better than that.. After
promotion, though, his strength starts to stand out along with high
evasion, which makes him one of the best contenders for taking on any
opponents. Just make sure that he doesn't go near any Axe-Wielders,
because he does have problems facing enemies of that nature.
Finn's a good candidate to be paired with anyone. He's effective with
Lachesis, Fury and Ayra, mainly, since his growth rates are high
enough, along with the added evasion to help their kids work well
enough. Since he offers PRAYER and high LUK, you'll want to be looking
to pair him with people that have low rates in those categories.
ETRHIN:
Ethrin is the wife of Prince Cuan.
Ethrin's not a very hard character to judge-from the moment that she
arrives, you have a feeling that she's independent and able to work for
herself and others from the way that she took care of Sigurd and Vyron
after their mother passed away. Ethrin is also rather caring and a very
clingy person, seeing how she refuses to give Cuan the Gayborg because
she was afraid of the curse, and how she willingly decided to stay
along with him in Chapter 5.
Ethrin ends up being involved in the war when she asks for Cuan's
assistance in helping Sigurd out with the Verdane situation.
Level 1 Troubadour -> Paladin
HP: 28(40% + 20%)
STR: 5(20% + 10%)
MGC: 8(5%)
SKL: 11(20% + 10%)
SPD: 12(30%)
LUK: 8(10% + 10%)
DEF: 4(20%)
MDEF: 4(10%)
SKILLS: BERSERK
INITIAL GOLD: 4000G
ARMS: THIN SWORD, LIFE STAFF
HOLY BLOOD: BALDO
RECRUITING: PROLOGUE(TURN 3)
Ethrin isn't too bad as a fighter or a healer, but she certainly
doesn't excel in either category. It's suggested that you build her up
so that you'll have a mobile healer and a fighter that can dish out
decent damage... If you give her a Pursuit Ring, she'll be able to match
up to some of the better members of your squad, sine all of her
statistics will match up pretty well.
MIDEEL:
Mideel is an archer of Jungby.
Mideel is one of the most devoted characters in the game, though it's
mainly just to one single girl, rather than an entire kingdom or
castle. Mideel is utterly devoted to Lady Edin, always willing to throw
his life away to make sure that she's safe. Of course, Mideel can grow
affection for others, and he's just as devoted to them if this is the
case.
Mideel ends up being involved with the war when Sigurd finds him, and
once Mideel finds out that Edin had been taken away by Gandolf, he
doesn't raise a bit of hesitation to join the effort to rescue her.
Level 2 Arch Knight -> Bow Knight
HP: 32(60%)
STR: 9(30%)
MGC: 0(5%)
SKL: 7(30%)
SPD: 9(40%)
LUK: 3(10%)
DEF: 7(30%)
MDEF: 0(5%)
SKILLS: PURSUIT
INITIAL GOLD: 2000G
ARMS: IRON BOW
HOLY BLOOD: NONE
RECRUITING: PROLOGUE(TAKE OVER JUNGBY CASTLE)
In all honesty, Mideel isn't too worthwhile. His statistics grow
evenly, though not one single statistic excels... He may end up being a
little fast, but since his LUK is rather low, he still has a problem
avoiding attacks. Mideel is best used as a hit and run unit, since he
has problems facing even the slightest melee attacks.
Mideel isn't too bad of a candidate for being paired with anyone. Edin
is especially effective, since she ends up giving him a Heroes Bow if
the two are paired together by Chapter 4! Certainly, this is something
to take note if the two are being taken into consideration. Otherwise,
he's outclassed by other men when being paired with others.. Once
again, he's mainly a last-ditch effort.
EDIN:
Edin is the princess of Jungby, sister of Andorey and Bridgette,
daughter of Lord Ring.
Edin is a kind priestess. She's a thoughtful, hard-working person,
mainly because she wants to find her lost sister, Bridgette. She's also
a romantic type and looks very deeply into things concerning other
people.
Edin ends up joining Sigurd's army when she's aware that the war with
Verdane would be pulling forward until the end.
Level 3 Priest -> High Priestess
HP: 28(50% + 20%)
STR: 0(20%)
MGC: 13(30%)
SKL: 8(20%)
SPD: 9(30%)
LUK: 11(30% + 30%)
DEF: 1(20%)
MDEF: 10(5%)
SKILLS: NONE
INITIAL GOLD: 5000G
ARMS: RELIFE STAFF
HOLY BLOOD: ULIR
RECRUITING: CHAPTER 1(TURN TWO)
Edin is a effective healer, since she comes out with a RELIFE STAFF and
that'll be your primary healing source since it'll be able to heal 33
HP from the get-go. It's highly suggested that you have her heal often
and use staves that give out high EXP since that'll bring her to Level
20 rather quickly-so she can promote and hold her own on the
battlefield. She is NOT a effective fighter, but she's skilled at
dodging and dealing decent damage-just don't expect her to deal loads
of damage and take out entire armies with her pinky.
Pairing Edin? It's strongly suggested that you have her go with Jamuka,
Mideel, Finn/Beowulf/Alec or Azel.
Jamuka offers very high statistic growth, though the kids will be
lacking in skill rates by a rather small margin. Lester will be an
amazing Bow Knight if he's equipped with a Heroes Bow, since he has a
skill setup that would allow him to attack a several times over and due
to his high strength score, deal great amounts of damage. This pairing
offers good skills and nice statistics, it's just that Lester and Ranna
will be lacking pursuit.. And Ranna may not be as good of a healer(Her
base STRENGTH has a chance of becoming rather high!) Edin will give
Jamuka a Heroes Bow if they are in love by Chapter 4.
Mideel offers two good skills to his children, PURSUIT and DUEL, making
them both effective fighters in the battlefield. Lester will be able to
hold his own if he's protected and Ranna will also be able to do the
same once she's promoted. However, neither one will gain very high
statistics, so they will be decent in the end. Edin will give Mideel a
Heroes Bow if they are in love by Chapter 4.
Finn/Beowulf/Alec offers good statistic growth and the PURSUIT and
DUEL(Beowulf) and AWARENESS(Alec) skill. Both children will be very
well rounded in this pairing and will be able to fend for themselves as
fighters... However, Lester will be hurt in the beginning from not
inheriting a bow and Edin will NOT be giving any special item to
Beowulf/Finn/Alec in Chapter 4, unlike all the other good pairings that
Edin has. Both kids have a chance of hitting LUCK at 30 as Finn's
children.
Azel will make Ranna into a prime fighter, even if she's only a High
Priest.. Ranna will have LEVEL-B FIRE magic and will have high magic
and speed scores, whereas the rest of her statistics will be pretty
decent. Ranna is awesome in this incarnation, both in healing and
fighting. Lester will inherit PURSUIT but no bows from his father, and
his statistics won't go far enough to really benefit him in the end, so
he may end up being one of the worst characters in this incarnation.
Edin will give Azel a Rescue Staff in Chapter 4 if they are lovers at
that point.
DEU:
Deu is a thief that was previously locked up by Verdane for plundering.
Deu is very childlike. You can tell simply from his portrait that he's
very bouncy, very lighthearted and simple about a lot of things. He's
also rather nice, actually using his thieving for good in some
situations and does grow to have a somewhat mature outlook by Chapter
5.
Deu ends up joining Sigurd's army for.. no reason at all? He tags wih
Edin after Jamuka releases both of them, and he stays in Sigurd's
service until the end.
Level 1 Thief -> Thief Fighter
HP: 28(50%)
STR: 3(40%)
MGC: 0(10%)
SKL: 6(40%)
SPD: 15(40%)
LUK: 12(40%)
DEF: 1(40%)
MDEF: 0(10%)
SKILLS: SUNLIGHT HIT, COUNTERFEIT, PURSUIT(THIEF FIGHTER)
INITIAL GOLD: 15000G
ARMS: IRON SWORD
HOLY BLOOD: NONE
RECRUITING: CHAPTER 1(TURN TWO)
Deu is one of the most powerful characters in the game if you bother
leveling him up, but he will only be powerful if you do that-since he
cannot keep up by simply being used sparingly, he has to steal kills,
even drain EXP by attacking bosses for abysmal amounts of damage.
However, if you manage to promote him into a Thief Fighter, you'll see
that his statistics will spike in many areas... His stats will get much
higher compared to other characters, and since he will have a good
combination of skills, SUNLIGHT HP(HP Drain), PURSUIT and COUNTERFEIT
to buy cheaply, he'll make excellent worth on your team. Definitely
suggested leveling.
Pairing-wise? Deu works very well with Bridgette and Ayra. He offers
high statistic growth along with SUNLIGHT HIT and COUNTERFEIT, so the
kids will probably maintain high stats in all areas, but make sure that
the kids have CONTINUE or PURSUIT, since those skills are absolutely
essential.
AYRA:
Ayra is the Princess of Isaac, sister of King Mannicle.
Ayra is very strong, determined and independent. From the moment she
arrives onto the scene, you'll notice that she isn't afraid of
anything, even speaking out against people that captured her... And she's
also very protective, willing to do the worst for the sake of her duty
or protect others.
Ayra can be recruited by Sigurd once GENOBA CASTLE had been taken into
the control of Grandbell. From that point on, she swears her sword to
Sigurd's cause.
Level 4 Sword Fighter -> Sword Master
HP: 32(50% + 20%)
STR: 11(30%)
MGC: 0(5%)
SKL: 16(30% + 30%)
SPD: 17(30%)
LUK: 3(20%)
DEF: 7(20%)
MDEF: 1(5%)
SKILLS: SHOOTING STAR HIT, AWARENESS, PURSUIT(SWORD FIGHTER, SWORD
MASTER), CONTINUE(SWORD MASTER)
INITIAL GOLD: 3000G
ARMS: IRON CLAYMORE
HOLY BLOOD: ODO
RECRUITING: TALK WITH SIGURD AFTER CONQUERING GENOBA CASTLE
Ayra is one of the most powerful characters in the game. From the
moment that you get her, you'll find that she's very effective against
enemies, especially the fighters of Verdane since they wield axes. Ayra
only continues to get even more powerful as she's leveled and after her
class change, she's impossible to defeat in a one-on-one since she'll
possess an incredibly powerful class combined with a nice array of
skills.. Just be careful when having her go up against entire groups of
enemies, since her LUK and DEF aren't too high.
Pairing Ayra with others is an absolute necessary; since her children
will be powerful, no matter whom she is mated with. Her best pairings
are with Holin, Lex and Deu.
Holin will offer Ayra's children VERY high HP and skill growth rates
and pretty balanced rates in every other category, along with MOONLIGHT
HIT. This is definitely a solid pairing, making the kids end up with
over 70 HP for each and having solid statistics everywhere else.
Lex will offer Ayra's children high defensive statistics, along with
decent growth rates in every other category. The kids will grow very
quickly due to the ELITE skill, and AMBUSH will allow them to get a
first hit in when they're at half HP! A very good pairing for Ayra,
since this fixes up the only real weak points that she has, minus the
fact that the children will still have low luck.
Deu will offer VERY high statistic growth rates to Ayra's children!
This will allow them to gain very high statistics in all areas,
excluding magic and magic defense, but their luck and dodge rate will
certainly be noticeable. Not only do the children gain these benefits,
but they also gain Sunlight Hit and Counterfeit, which does make things
A LOT easier. A very good pairing.
JAMUKA:
Jamuka is a prince of Verdane, one of the sons of King Batoi.
Jamuka has no territory in Verdane, despite being one of the sons of
Verdane, he probably does reside over Evans castle. Jamuka is the most
sensible and levelheaded of King Batoi's sons, though he still
possesses a strong bout of anger and tends to hold grudges against
people to the end. He's very loyal to those who he makes friends with,
and knows how to make sound decisions despite his barbaric life.
Jamuka can be recruited by EDIN by having her talk to him when he
charges his army against you after Grandbell has taken Marpha castle.
Level 6 Bow Fighter -> Sniper
HP: 36(90%)
STR: 11(40%)
MGC: 0(0%)
SKL: 14(10%)
SPD: 14(30%)
LUK: 4(40%)
DEF: 9(30%)
MDEF: 0(5%)
SKILLS: CONTINUE, DUEL, PURSUIT(BOW FIGHTER, SNIPER)
INITIAL GOLD: 5000G
ARMS: KILLER BOW
HOLY BLOOD: NONE
RECRUITING: TALK WITH EDIN(CHAPTER 1)
Jamuka is definitely the best archer in the first generation and holds
throughout the entire game as one of your most powerful characters. He
has an excellent setup of skills, he'll almost definitely always strike
twice in a battle-but there's also strong chance for him to activate
his CONTINUE or DUEL skill and continuously attack through such means.
Jamuka is capable of simply standing there and striking an enemy till
it hits death, though his low skill score may prevent him from
activating skills too often.
Jamuka is best paired with Bridgette or Edin, because he offers nice
statistics and the kids will inherit a nice setup of skills. Though,
they'll be lacking due to having no Pursuit(Except for Faval, in
Bridgette's case.)
DIADORA:
Diadora is the daughter of Cigyun and Kult and lives in the Spirit
Forest of Verdane, staying away from all human contact.
Level 3 Shaman -> None
HP: 26(40% + 30%)
STR: 0(10%)
MGC: 14(10% + 60%)
SKL: 9(20%)
SPD: 12(10%)
LUK: 6(10%)
DEF: 3(10%)
MDEF: 16(10% + 60%)
SKILLS: AWARENESS
INITIAL GOLD: 1000G
ARMS: AURA, SILENCE STAFF
HOLY BLOOD: NARGA*
RECRUITING: PASS SPIRIT FOREST(CHAPTER 1)
Diadora is one of the worst characters in the first generation, by
quite a far margin. Her base statistics are not too bad and her class
does allow her to be an efficient fighter if given a good Light spell
and an effective healer, as well... However, her growth rates are far too
low for her to keep up with the rest of the squad, and the fact that
you cannot use her in Chapter 3 means that you only can use her for one
single chapter. Not too useful, and a waste of experience.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
** II. ENEMY CHARACTERS **
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This section will be covering the statistics of the enemies.
Note: Not all enemies will have growth rates or base statistics in this
section. In future updates, you'll be seeing their statistics, so do
not worry about that regard too much.
GERRAD:
Gerrad is a lackey of Prince Gandolf. A perverted barbarian with no
sense of justice.
Level 20 Axe Fighter
HP: 55
STR: 14
MGC: 0
SKL: 9
SPD: 16
LUK: 0
DEF: 14
MDEF: 2
SKILLS: NONE
INITIAL GOLD: 2000G
ARMS: STEEL AXE, HAND AXE
HOLY BLOOD: NONE
LEADERSHIP: TWO STARS
RESIDING: EVANS CASTLE(PROLOGUE)
Strategies: Simply attack Gerrad with an experienced unit that can
wield swords and he will be taken down in a couple turns. Using lances
or axes may not be a good idea, if such units are inexperienced and
won't be able to hit him properly... Azel's Fire magic is also effective
against Gerrad, just be careful to make sure Azel can take a hit or
two.
DIMAGGIO:
DiMaggio is a lackey of Prince Gandolf. A moron who doesn't appear to
have too much intelligence.
Level 10 Axe Fighter
HP: 45
STR: 11
MGC: 0
SKL: 6
SPD: 16
LUK: 0
DEF: 11
MDEF: 1
SKILLS: NONE
INITIAL GOLD: 2000G
ARMS: STEEL AXE
HOLY BLOOD: NONE
LEADERSHIP: ONE STAR
RESIDING: JUNGBY CASTLE(PROLOGUE)
Strategies: Absolutely pathetic, but he is the first boss in the entire
game. Attack him with any weapon preference, just keep in mind that
lance-wielders may have problems trying to avoid hits or land them, so
you may think twice about sending such. Azel's ranged magic attack will
kill him in a few turns, but as will any sword wielders.
PRINCE GANDOLF:
The prince of Marpha and the oldest son of King Batoi. A brutal,
disgusting savage with dreams of conquest over the nation.
Level 20 Warrior
HP: 60
STR: 17
MGC: 0
SKL: 11+5
SPD: 18
LUK: 0
DEF: 16
MDEF: 5
SKILLS: NONE
INITIAL GOLD: 3000G
ARMS: HAND AXE, SKILL RING(DROPS)
HOLY BLOOD: NONE
LEADERSHIP: TWO STARS
RESIDING: PROLOGUE(FIELDS), MARPHA CASTLE(CHAPTER 1)
Strategies: Nothing too hard. At this point, you should have a few
experienced sword-wielders, one of those being Ayra... Simply use them
against Gandolf and he'll be defeated in no time. His weaknesses are
too glaring.
BISHOP SANDIMA:
Sandima is a bishop under the order of the Dark Sect, extremely loyal
to their cause and Archbishop Manfroy.
SKILLS: NONE
INITIAL GOLD:
ARMS: YOTSMUNG, FENRIR, MAGIC RING
HOLY BLOOD:
LEADERSHIP:
RESIDING: VERDANE(CHAPTER 1)
Strategies: Make sure that you draw out the enemies around the castle
and defeat them efficiently, that certainly isn't too hard-just send a
fast unit that could take a single hit from Sandima to lure. After
that, send a fast or high magic defensive unit towards Sandima along
with some others that could possibly take a hit, and eliminate him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
** III. NPC CHARACTERS **
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This section will be covering the NPC characters in the game, both map-
based and dialogue-only characters.
Note: For map based characters, you'll notice a data sheet of
statistics.. This is really only for data purposes, and you don't have
to take it into account.
OIFAYE:
The young grandson of Lord Sesar. Oifaye's inherited his grandfather's
legendary tactical advice and it can clearly be seen as he advises Lord
Sigurd through all of his trials. Though, he's just a young
knight(Fourteen years.) he comes along with Sigurd as his personal
advisor, and is one of the most frequent characters in conversations.
LORD ARVIS:
Arvis is the Commander of Barhara's Royal Guard as well as an aide to
King Azmule. Arvis is a very idealistic person and always has a right
mind for equal justice and treatment among all of the people, even if
their religion or culture suggests that they would deserve such
treatment, Arvis would never agree in such a manner.
The ways of the Crusader Maia run deep within Arvis, which is why he
has a mind for fighting for the people. However, Arvis isn't too bright
and while he is an excellent planner and a master of military strategy,
he too can be tricked if fellow people around him seem to support his
cause. He also has the flaw of sacrificing anything and anyone for the
good of the people, which leads into one of the greatest disasters
within the game.
Lord Arvis is the son of Lord Victor and Cigyun. Lord Victor was a man
that was a frequent womanizer and held many affairs, even marrying
Cigyun and having her as his favorite wife. However, since Prince Kult
sympathized for Cigyun, he eventually ended up matching up with her and
they had the child of Diadora together.
However, when Lord Victor found out that his favorite wife had been
cheating on him, he hung himself. This sent a bad wave throughout the
Velthomer Family, and Cigyun ended up running away with Diadora to the
Spirit Forest of Verdane. From there on, Arvis lost both of his parents
at the age of seven.
Lord Arvis was known to be a gifted king at childhood, he became a
powerful, strong leader and managed to maintain the structure of
Velthomer despite being young. The only people that Arvis even
considered a family after that point were Cigyun's maid servant and his
half-brother, Azel.
