***********************************************************************
Hey, Eaichu250 speakin here.
I'm attemping to write a complete guide(this guide covers weapons) for Fire
Emblem 3, since it is on major demand, plus the fact that it is one of my
favorite games of all time.
This guide is meant to give you the idea of which characters are useful, and
which ones are as useful as a broken plane.
This guide will also cover each class, what each class can equip, use, and
general base stats.

Fire Emblem 3 is 100% Japanese. No verisons of this game were released in
the states. It's one of the best Strategy-RPG's ever made(IMHO) and that
fact alone wants me to write an FAQ for this.

I hope this FAQ will answer all the questions and such you have, if you have
any more questions, don't be afraid to nail me at -

Now, on with the FAQ!

There are many characters that sport this class. This is the ideal Knight
class for any Knight, they can dismount and use Swords if needed, and they
have somewhat decent stats, the highest being speed, and the lowest being
magic defense. Base stats are pretty low, except for a select few.

3: Character Guide -

Summary -

Okay, the purpose of this guide is to give you information on each
character's strengths, and weaknesses. Most characters are pretty good, but
some are just plain disasters.

This guide will be covering all of the characters in Book 1 and 2.

Leveling up Tips -

Hoshi Orb - These are orbs you receive throughout some locations in the
game. These are VERY helpful items, giving you special effects in battle,
and making your stat gains go straight through the roof. Give these to a
character if you want some insane gains!

Power Levelling(or that's what they call it... :O) - This is when you go to
an arena and try to gain as many levels as humanly possible. Basically, once
you find an arena surronded by some shops, you can gain tons of gold, and
keep making the character enter the arena and winning battles and gaining
experince. However, if it looks like yer character is going to die in the
heat of battle, you better jam the B button or you'll have a dead unit!

                                    Book One Character Guide

Heh, okay. Let's get on with this crazy guide, shall we?

Book 1 characters:

******
[Lord]
******

Marth:
Marth is the Prince of Alitia, and a descendant of the Hero who had slain
Medeus over 1000 years ago, he carries the blood of Anri, and has the
ability to use the sacred sword, Falchion.

This is the main character of the game. He has very low stats for most
throughout the game, and he has some pretty weak stat gains too, however, he
CAN use the Rapier weapon, which is quite a useful weapon, and Marth can
also equip the Falchion, which is useful for trying to defeat the last boss,
otherwise, he's somewhat poor as a fighting unit, and should always be
protected.

Class Change - None. Maxes out after 20 levels.
Rating for Marth - 5/10
Stat Growth -
[HP - Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Weapon Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
90% -   50%   - 40% -  50% -70% -   40%       -  20%  -   3%
Looks - He has blue hair and wears a tiara. He aint a hard character to
miss.
How you get him - ...
Support Effect - Katua(10% Supported) Sheeda(10% recieved), Ellis(10%
recieved)

***************************
[-Social Knights-Paladins-]
***************************

Abel:
Abel is a Social Knight companion to Marth, he is loyal to his Lord, and is
the younger brother of Kain.

This is one of the first Social Knights you get in the game. He sports green
hair, and starts out faster, but a bit weaker than his counterpart, Kain.
Abel is one of the better units in the game, he gets decent level ups. And
when he's maxed out, he has quite amazing stats. He's a bit faster than
Kain, but weaker on the offense.

Class Change - Paladin.
Rating for Abel - 8/10
Stat Growth -
[HP-Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Wpn Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
70%-  40%   - 50% -  50%- 40% -  70%   -  20% -     3%
Looks - Abel is wearing green armor, and has green hair.
How you get him - He starts out with Marth.
Support Effect - Est(10% supported)

Kain:
Kain is a Knight under the command of Marth, he is very loyal to his Lord,
and will do anything to protect him and help him within his ability.

This is one of the first Social Knights you get in the game. He sports red
hair, instead of green. He starts out stronger, yet somewhat slower than his
counterpart, Abel.
Kain gets quite amazing stats for just a Social Knight, he gets somewhat
better levels than Abel, and ends up being one of the best members in the
force. I think he's a bit better than Abel, and ends up maxing a TON of
stats. He's stronger than Abel, but is somewhat slower until both of them
max out.
He also gets pretty high defense for some reason.

Class Change - Paladin.
Rating for Kain - 9.5/10
Stat Growth -
[HP-Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Wpn Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
60%-  30%   - 60% -  60%- 50% -  90%   -  20% -     3%
Looks - Kain is wearing red armor, and is sporting red hair.
How you get him - He starts out with Marth.
Support Effect - None

Jeigan:
Jeigan is an old Paladin that is trying to protect his Lord, no matter what.

This is the starter of the trend called "Jeigan Character", or a character
that starts out somewhat strong, but ends up being complete crap by the end
of the game. Jeigan starts out a little strong, thanks to the Silver Spear
he's holding, but he isnt really much, due to the fact his stat growth is
almost nothing... However, he can give his Silver Spear to Sheeda, since she
needs it more then this putz does.

Class Change - None, he starts out promoted.
Rating for Jeigan - 0.5/10
Stat Growth -
[HP-Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Wpn Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
10%-  10%   - 10% -  10%- 0% -   0%   -    0% -     3%
Looks - Jeigan has white hair, and is wearing purple armor that has spikes
in it.
How you get him - He starts out with Marth.
Support Effect - None

Hardain -
Hardain is the brother of the King of Orleans, Hardain is a man who refuses
to give up to the Empire, and is known as the "Wolf of Orleans", he will
continue fighting against the empire for his state, until he no longer can.

Hardain's another Social Knight, but unlike the band of idiots that start
with him, he's actually quite powerful. He gets good stat gains, and starts
out pretty strong. Really high strength, and his defense becomes amazingly
good, he always maxes a ton of stats in my files.

Class Change - Paladin
Rating for Hardin - 9.5/10
Stat Growth:
[HP-Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Wpn Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
50%-  30%   - 50% -  60%- 30% -  70%   -  20% -     3%
Looks - Hardain is wearing a white turban, and has a moustache, also has
brown hair.
How you get him - Hardain starts out on the left side of the map on Chapter
4.
Support Effect - None

Roshe -
Roshe is the leader of a group of four that is protecting Hardain under
Princess Nina's order, he will protect his King, no matter what.

Roshe is an excellent unit, he dosent look too promising at first, but soon
he will get extremely high Strength, Skill and Speed, his defense will be
quite high, going higher then your other Social Knights or Paladins, and is
a very balanced character with no faults. Just beware that he has a low
Weapon Skill growth, but a manual or two will fix this small problem.

Class Change - Paladin
Rating for Roshe - 8/10
Stat Growth:
[HP-Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Wpn Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
80%-  40%   - 50% -  40%- 50% -  30%   -  30% -     3%
Looks - Roshe has purple/pinkish type hair, he is also wearing a suit of
purple armor.
How you get him - Roshe starts out with Hardain in Chapter 4.
Support Effect - None

Villuck -
Villuck is a Knight under Hardain and Roshe's command.

Villuck.. is another Social Knight. Unlike Roshe, Marchis, and Hardain, this
very Social Knight that joins with Hardain, is complete trash. Villuck will
boast high Weapon Skill, and maybe decent HP, however, his skill, speed, and
luck gains suffer badly, and his Strength rarely rises up to damage his
usefulness even more.
Villuck is a poor unit, and shouldn't be used for anything.

Class Change - Paladin
Rating for Villuck - 1.5/10
Stat Growth:
[HP-Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Wpn Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
50%-  30%   - 10% -  20%- 10% -  70%   -  10% -     3%
Looks - Villuck has red hair, and has a suit of blue armor. Also note the
fact, that Villuck is looking straight at you.
How you get him - Starts with Hardin.
Support Effect - None

Marchis -
Marchis is the brother of the High Priestess of Macedonia, Lenna. Marchis
was forced by Prince Micheal to fight for his country, Marchis hates
fighting, but he feared the punishment he would receive if he did not fight
for Prince Micheal.

Marchis is another Social Knight, while he dosent seem too promising at
first, like Roshe, he can grow into a small powerhouse if trained up.
However, Marchis still suffers from the fact that he is terribly outclassed,
and can be passed up by other Social Knights. Use Marchis if you really want
another Social Knight.

Class Change - Paladin
Rating for Marchis - 5/10
Stat Growth:
[HP-Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Wpn Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
50%-  40%   - 30% -  20%- 20% -  70%   -  20% -     3%
Looks - Marchis has red hair, also wearing blue armor, like Villuck, looks a
bit dumb, for lack of a better word.
How you get him - Have Renna speak to Marchis in Chapter 4.
Support Effect - None

Medea -
Medea is a stubborn Paladin, that has been captured and locked in the prison
of Bares. Medea is a long time friend of Astoria.

Medea starts out as a promoted Paladin, she's one of the few female Social
Knights in Fire Emblem history.
Medea gets decent gains, she's pretty well rounded, her strength stat stays
somewhat low, however, and she isnt powerful enough to match up to the
better Social Knights, if you're already using Roshe/Kain/Abel/Hardain, and
want ANOTHER Paladin, take her along.

Alan's also a bit better then Medea, although, they could be treated as
equals in some aspects.

Class Change - Starts out promoted.
Rating for Medea - 6/10
Stat Growth:
[HP-Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Wpn Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
80%-  30%   - 50% -  50%- 10% -  50%   -  20% -     3%
Looks - Medea has blue hair, and is wearing purple armor.
How you get her - She joins automatically in Chapter 10.

Alan -
Alan is the retired, Captain of the Knights, of Alitia. Alan joins Marth in
hoping to make a difference, and help out his country. Although, his
neighbor has quite a grudge against him.

Alan is an excellent unit, he gets decent gains, and he's the most well
rounded Paladin out of the choices, although he dosent excel in any stat,
all of stats will stay at a averagly high level, making Alan a useful unit
for any situation.

Alan also starts with high stats, adding on to this.

Class Change - He's already promoted.
Rating for Alan - 7/10
Stat Growth:
[HP-Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Wpn Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
50%-  50%   - 30% -  40%- 40% -  50%   -  10% -     3%
Looks - Alan has blond hair, purple armor with some spikes in it, also looks
a little scary or such.
How you get him - In Chapter 13, he's in one of the two houses. You have to
choose between him and Samson.

**********************
[Armor Knight-General]
**********************

Doga:
Doga is a Knight under Marth's command.

Doga is easily one of the best armors in the game. His stat growth isnt too
good, but he gets MASSIVE defense. After a while of leveling, Doga seems to
stat to get quite fast, get stronger, and get much better gains than when he
started. He has massive defense, strength, and gets somewhat fast. His skill
is somewhat low, though.

Class Change - General.
Rating for Doga - 9.5/10
Stat Growth -
[HP-Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Wpn Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
60%-  20%   - 40% -  40%- 20% -  20%   -  10% -     3%
Looks - Doga has green hair, and is covered up by thick blue armor.
How you get him - He starts out with Marth.
Support Effect - None

Michelan -
Michelan is a captured Knight of Bares.

Michelan gets.. really bad gains, it's almost sickening to see such a
horrible sight. Michelan is far outclassed by Toms, Doga, and Lawrence. Do
not bother using Michelan, for he is quite weak, and can only be used as an
effective wall.

Class Change - General
Rating for Michelan: 6/10
Stat Growth:
[HP-Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Wpn Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
50%-  30%   - 10% -  20%- 10% -  40%   -  10% -     3%
Looks - Michelan is wearing a suit of pink armor, completely bald.
How you get him - Starts with Medea.

Toms -
Toms is another captured Knight of Bares.

Toms is a lot better then his partner, Michelan, with decent gains, and a
pretty good fighting ability, Toms can be treated as another Doga. Use him
along with Doga and Lawrence for an excellent wall of defense.

Class Change - General
Rating for Toms - 7/10
Stat Growth:
[HP-Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Wpn Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
70%-  30%   - 40% -  30%- 10% -  70%   -  20% -     3%
Looks - Toms is wearing a suit of green armor, completely bald.
How you get him - Starts with Medea.

Lawrence -
Lawrence is an old General, who is refusing to give up the fight for his
country, Grunia, no matter what.

Lawrence is the BEST armor in the game! Lawrence starts out promoted, and
with somewhat low stats, but with a several level ups, you will see that his
gains FAR outclass Doga's in every single way, and will soon become better
then Doga when trained up for a bit.

Lawrence is an excellent partner for Doga.

Class Change - Already promoted.
Rating for Lawrence - 8/10
Stat Growth:
[HP-Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Wpn Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]
70%-  50%   - 70% -  20%- 50% -  50%   -  20% -     3%
Looks - Lawrence has white hair, from old age, I presume, and an eyepatch.
How you get him - Have Sheeda speak to him in Chapter 16.

******************************
[Pegasus Knight-Dragon Knight]
******************************

Sheeda:
Sheeda is the Princess of Talis, she's kind and sweet, and also has a bit of
a crush on Marth.

Sheeda is one of the best flying characters in the game, period. She starts
out with amazing stats, and gets very good stat gains. Sheeda's strength
stays somewhat low for a while, but it starts to raise like crazy after a
while. Sheeda's only problem is that she gets somewhat low HP, but when she
promotes, she'll have enough defense to cover that poor part easily.

She's a decent Dragon Knight. I don't really like using her, though. She's
gets good stats, and has a very high defense. She's also one of the few

Katua is one of the three Pegasus Sisters, while her sisters start out much

Paola is another Pegasus Sister, Paola is the strongest STARTING Pegasus
Sister, but she gets soon outclassed by the other ones(Sheeda, Katua, Est),
Paola gets the highest Strength out of all the Pegasus Sisters, though, so
don't be too afraid to take her along, her Speed and Luck are so generally
pathetic, though.

She's the third Pegasus sister, and easily the strongest one. Est gets
AMAZING stat gains, and can be one of your most powerful characters when
given enough leveling. Another great thing about Est, is that she comes with
the Miracle Sword, and if you have the other two Pegasus sisters, you can
surrond an enemy with all three, and perform an attack that does TRIPLE
damage. Do NOT attempt to miss Est, she's easily one of the best, and coming

Gordon is a friend of Marth, and also another fighter in his army.

Gordon is one of the better archers in the game. He starts out with somewhat
low stats, but he soon gets great stats if given enough leveling. He gets
good stats all around, and maxes quite a few. His only problem is his
pathetic lack of defensive powers, so keep him WELL protected.

Kasahim's a another bow user. He's just like Gordon, except he has better

Zaggaro starts out as a promoted Horseman, he starts with extremely low
stats for such a unit(bad news) and he wont be able to max any of his stats,
unless you buff him up with items that increase strength, Zaggaro will be a
useless unit, and not be capable of anything. If you need a real Horseman,

George isnt actually all that bad, he's weaker then a promoted Gordan, and
can be matched up to a promoted Kasahim, and easily beats most other
archers. George starts with blazing high stats, and his gains arent really
too amazing, he can be pretty good with a couple of stat boosting items, as
he only needs one or two to be an awesome unit.

Meric is your first ever mage, he gets decent stats at best, his strength

I think I bashed this guy too much last time. Roddle can actually be pretty
good if leveled up enough, he gets good all around stats, and his gains
aren't too bad, he's one of the best Social Knights in the game, so he's a
pretty good pick. It's just hard to power him up to the point where he's
super powerful, as he starts out quite weak.

Luke -
Luke's another social knight, he DOES get pretty high skill and speed,
that's a good thing I've seen from him so far, all his other stats seem to
suffer like mad, however, but he isn't actually too bad.
Luke's also a lot better then Cecila, he just needs a bit of training to
catch up.

Alan -
He's a Jeigan character. Alan starts out strong, and helps the team through
their first battles. Unlike Jeigan, Alan can actually get some stat-ups, but
the stat ups are usually dismal, and do not help at all. Try not to use this
character too much, unless you need to catch a thief or something in the
beginning stages.

Also, I hate the fact that they made one of my favorite characters in the
starting book so weak in the second.
Poor Alan. Oh well, atleast he's BETTER then Jeigan..

Gordan -
He's pretty much the same exact clone of the first Gordan. He gets the same
good levels, and ends up as a pretty strong character overall. He's much
weaker compared to his younger brother, Ryan, though. But if you don't feel
like building Ryan up, Gordan is your man.

Ryan -
He's FANTASTIC! He gets insane level ups, and insane stat gains. He turns
out to be a complete tank and will be able to destroy everything in his path
if leveled up like mad. Ryan is the best archer in the game, and is second
to none, pretty sucky defense and total hit points, though.
He's also Gordan's little brother.

Doga -
I over rated this guy last time, Doga is your first armor knight, and pretty
much the default armor knight throughout the game. Doga gets pretty low
gains, due to the fact he has to be a tank, and be relient on defensive
powers. Doga isn't actually the best armor knight in the game either, but he
can be pretty good once revved up enough, just hope that his defense goes up
once in a while.

Malissa -
Malissa gets the title of being the prime healer in this game. Malissa gets
good stats gains, and ends up with pretty decent stats overall, she can heal
other characters, and when she is promoted, she can fight aswell as heal.
Malissa gets a pretty high power score, although this isn't too much to
notice, it's still quite scary.

Katua -
Katua is one of the three Pegasus sisters, and as always, she's one of the
strongest units in the game. Katua gets great gains, and ends up being
extremely powerful. She's quite fast when you first get her, so just level
her up, and you'll have a great unit.

Warren -
Warren is the default Horseman for the team, he gets decent all around stat
gains, and isn't too bad in any area, except he's somewhat weaker than
Kasahim, which leaves him pretty useless compared to his rival. Warren is
pretty good if you need another horseman, or don't want to use Kasahim.

Paola -
Paola is another Pegasus Knight, and she starts off insanely powerful,
around 4x stronger than most of your troops at the point you get her, if you
keep building her up, she'll stay pretty powerful too. Paola is an excellent
unit, and she gets very good gains all around, aside from luck, but that

Linda's a mage, the only mage that can use Aura and Reziza. Linda gets
amazing gains for all catergories, and will end up being one of your
strongest units, and with the Aura in her hand, she will do AMAZING damage
to any enemy. Linda should not be missed(she cant be missed, but I just have

Kasahim -
I cant believe I said Kasahim was worse than Warren. Kasashim actually gets

Class Change - Already promoted.
Rating for Medea - 5/10

[HP - Strength-Skill-Speed-Luck-Weapon Skill-Defense-Mgc Defense]

How you get her - She joins automatically in Chapter 20.

Maria/Renna/Ellis/Nina -
Each one is a priest guarding the last boss in the last level. You'd best
recruit them to your side and then just go fight the scarree boss.
If you don't recruit these sisters, Medeus can leech off them for HP, which
is BAD.

Class Change - They're all promoted.
Rating for all of them - 2/10
Stat Growth: Maria has bad stat growth, Ellis/Renna and Nina have decent.
Looks - Maria is young with red hair, Renna looks older and has red hair,
Ellis has blue hair, Nina has blond hair.
How you get 'em - Sirius talks to Nina, Minerva talks to Maria, Julian talks
to Renna, and Maric talks to Ellis.
