I've gone to great lengths to make this thing accessable for the
Dragon Quest buff who doesn't know Japanese but would still like to
play something beyond Dragon Warrior IV. The Menu Translation section
should make for easier navigation in and out of battles. The Item
Hunting section should give you an idea of what you can expect to find
when in a new town or cave. That's it. Hop to it.
For those of you who aren't familiar with Dragon Quest III Remix
I guess I should point out what sets this one apart from the U.S.
release (Dragon Warrior III) for the Nintendo.
-It's for the Super Nintendo
-New Thief class
-About 80 addtional weapons and armors
-Bonus Cave and Boss
-Sugoroku mini-game
-Personalities
-Lots of nifty battle backgrounds (no more stupid black backgrounds!)
-2-3 different attack animations per enemy
-Visible spell effects and attacks
-Small Medals
-Basically all graphics have been rehauled to look sharper

This is the main menu. However, "X Button" works as both an auto-talk
and auto-search button. The only options here that I think will need
further explanation are "Item" and "Tactics".
If you choose "Item" you'll then be asked "Who's Items?" After
choosing an item from one of your characters you'll be asked what to
do with it. This menu will come up:

If you choose "Tactics" from the main menu then this menu will pop up:
Auto-heal (Will heal all characters to MAX HP with your healing spells)

go to the Recruitment Center in Aliahan and go upstairs. Things should
go about like this:

These are the books which will change a character's personality
when read. By using the translations you should be able to make an
educated guess as to which personalities compliment which classes.
On the left is the book and its Japanese and on the right is the
personality the book causes. It is quite possible that there are
some personalities that I haven't seen. Oh and you might be wondering
what personalities do and to that I say, they affect the growth of
your stats. "By how much?" you ask. Well, figuring that is way
beyond my patience and laughable math skills. Just know that I've
played through the game a few times and haven't found personalities
to have too serious an affect on my character's abilities.

These are all (maybe) the personalities which you can't get from a book
or from wearing an item. You can only get these when creating new
heroes or possibly from a question mark square on a Sugoroku board.
Some of these are only available when you're creating the Hero. At the
beginning of the game your Hero will be asked a series of questions
and, depending on how you answer, you'll then undergo a small test.
So far, I've found myself in a desert, a forest, inside a well, a
a cave, in Kazarbu, and in Zenis Castle. How you handle the situation
where you are sent will determine your Hero's personality. Fetch
enough boulders for the old man in the forest and you'll be a "Tough
Guy". Save the princess in the cave and you'll be an "Honest" person.

I'd do a walkthrough for this game but you can already use a
Dragon Warrior III walkthrough because the story events are
exactly the same. The main use of this section will probably be for
finding all the Small Medals. The Small Medals in caps are those
which are hidden and will probably require the use of a Thief's
skills. If you miss a Small Medal (or two or three or four) it's no
biggie since there are more than 100.
